List of potential victims from most likely to least likely (in my opinion)
Nish - He's the most obvious, which also sort of makes him the least likely I guess but I want him gone so he's at the top of my list 🤷 I can see Suki and Stacey finding out that he did something to Eve, assuming he murdered her and reacting accordingly. Also with Rocky and and covering for Ravi as regards to Ranveer, Kathy and Denise have enough reason to hate him. Maybe not kill him, but certainly help cover up the murder (if that's where this is going)
Ravi - controversial opinion but I actually kinda like Ravi? Yes his behaviour with Denise was hella dodge but I think he makes a really good 'villain with a heart'? Just me? Okay. But yes he is obviously high on the list because of his connection to at least half of the 6, but the introduction of Avani and Priya seems like weird timing to kill him off. I would also love to see him in the aftermath of Nish's murder.
Dean - he's middle of the pack because, while all of the 6 have reason to hate him, his connection is strongest to Linda who, just in my viewing of it, seems to just walk in and isn't necessarily an active player in the murder. Also bringing back a villain to kill him off immediately is boring af 🤷
Keanu - honestly kind of want it to be him just so I never have to see that block of wood try to act again. It would also leave Bernie as the only Taylor left standing so they might actually give her and decent storyline🤞The backlash from Albies 'kidnapping' could play into this but the 6 seem like a random cast to include in his death
Phil - If Steve McFadden was leaving, this year of eastenders would have been The Phil Show™, all guns blazin'. Okay he has been on screen a lot but not really front and centre. And with the whole ONS with Emma and Albies paternity, that's way too many loose ends imo. But Sharon could also be lying about the victim being dead 🤷
Rocky - meh? Doesn't really make sense for his death to be so dramatic and I can't see it leading on to anything else big so?? Also the actor leaving was announced months ago so it's unlikely if they were trying so hard to keep the victim's identity a secret
Jack - literally the only reason they started the whole Stacey and Jack thing was to have another potential victim. Yawn. Nobody wants this. Please stop.
I could also see them playing a wild card and killing Theo? I think he's the only other male cast member outside of those mentioned that would make sense

Read -> Reading -> To-Read
I am not usually one for horror, terror, gothic, thrillers or anything of the sort, but I've decided to try reading out of my comfort zone!
Tumblr media
Read: House of Cotton by Monica Brashears
I read House of Cotton and it is not for the weak-stomached. It was a mix of creepy yet intriguing. Main character Magnolia gets way in over her head throughout the book and it is cringe-worthy to read as she escapes some of her situations.
(Trigger warning: This book does contains instances of assault.)
Reading: As the Wicked Watch by Tamron Hall
Continuing in the path of thrillers, I've just begun reading As the Wicked Watch. Knowing Tamron Hall as a reporter is what drew me to the book, but the Chicago setting and the mystery within has me not wanting to put the book down.
To Read: Murder is a Piece of Cake by Valerie Burns
I came across this mystery series by chance. While this is technically book #2, I am going to start with it. Having a bakery as a backdrop to murders within a small town is just the sweetness I need to not scare me while I read!

I love wool for many reasons, but tonight I especially love wool because it doesn't get stinky! (Well. I'm sure it would EVENTUALLY...) After you wear it, you can hang it up and air it out, and after a while it smells fresh again! It's truly incredible.

so liek, janey’s been having a tough time with the whole jake thing n all, an i was like u no what? eff that, ur an absolute star!
so ya this one’s for u janey lol
Spoken: Janey, look, I *know* ur heartbroken over Jake, but it’s not like him rejecting u means that there’s something wrong with u! No seriously Janey just listen to me alright?
When I first saw you Janey, I thought that u were hot
No really, I’m serious, I thought that u were hot
And my tender heart, well it skipped a beat
But u really need a friend right now, so let’s put this to the side for now
I know, I know exactly what you need
Heartbreak’s a tough luck case
And though you’re the toughest case I’ve yet to face
Don’t worry! I’m determined to succeed
Follow my lead
And yes indeed
You… will… be…
A heartbreaker.
Ur gonna be a heartbreaker
I’ll teach u the proper poise when you talk to boys
Little ways to flirt and flounce
I’ll show u what face to make when u talk to Jake
So that u don’t let him know he’s a
Heartbreaker- Swear I’ll make u a heartbreaker
You’ll walk with ur head held high
What a pretty sight!
Confidence is key, you know
So let’s start!
You’ve got a bit of a way to go
I’m gonna try my best to be frank with you
Cause there ain’t nothing I can think of that u cannot do
Now that I’ve chosen become ur galpal
And ur adviser
There’s nobody wiser
So I’ll teach u to be a
Heartbreaker, ur gonna be a heartbreaker
And with an assist from me
To be who u’ll be
Instead of dreary who you were- well, are
There’s nothing that can stop
From being a Heartbreaker- kar
La- la, la-la
You’re gonna be a Heartbreaker
Why be so depressed and long-faced?
Honestly, it’s just such a waste
Let me remind you on your own behalf to think of
All the good you’ve done before, and how ur gonna do so much more
Compared to that, this aint gonna kill u, don’t make me laugh!
You’re a Heartbreaker, see?
Janey, ur a heartbreaker
He didn’t choose you, boss?
Well that’s just his loss
Cause u know ur gonna be
A really big heartbreaker like me
Spoken: Seriously, Janey, I’m telling you- you’re a heartbreaker! You don’t even know how many hearts you’ve broken... or even... *whose* hearts you’ve broken.
Hm? Oh no, I’m fiiiine, I’m fine *pffffbbbt* ya know me, just goofin’ around *laughs*. Nah, I’m cool. Oh, but hey! I’ll see you at your party later, ok? Yeah, go on, buh-bye now!
And so there you go
I just know that you’ll show
Off, and I know with clarity
You’re gonna grin and bear your Heartbreak-ilarity
La- la, la-la
You’ll be a Heartbreaker
Just make sure u don’t break ur heart… like… me

like [in re plastic article i posted earlier] i'm currently wearing one of my fave tees that's, god, i don't know, a good five years old now anyway, and it's a triblend which means it's got some polyester in it, and while i've appreciated the way that's enabled it to straddle use cases over the years—e.g. (1) bicycling to class and then (2) looking like a normal person once i got there—at this point it's starting to pill a little, as poly always inevitably does, and getting rattier and less comfy as a result? and like, i guess i'll try using a fabric shaver on it and see if that helps some, but like. not an issue with 100% cotton tees!
#i imagine it *would* happen a bit with wool‚ probably—it's happened a little bit with the merino socks i have—#and given that part of what i've valued abt this tee is its usability as activewear‚ that's admittedly a fairer comparison#but like. the other thing abt natural fibers is: biodegradable#pulling pills off a sweater doesn't leave me with little insidious pellets of plastic waste#anyway idk. all textiles have tradeoffs but i'm really feeling like. at the very least i only want to buy plastic on purpose#like it's one thing to have a fleece or two (although like. should those ultimately be wool also? maybe!)#(i do own one (1) fancy merino hoodie that's basically a fleece substitute and like. lotta good things abt it)#(but it IS imo slightly less comfy next to skin‚ slightly heavier‚ and slightly worse at wicking than‚ say‚ a grid fleece of similar weight)#but it's another thing to have like. normal garments that just. have polyester in them for no reason (or rather bc‚ i assume‚ it's cheaper)#anyway like. idk. you can't scrutinize yr consumption to death but you can try to keep some criteria in mind#cotton i think has its own environmental issues—water consumption iirc??—so like. truly everything is tradeoffs#and ultimately probably the biggest and best thing is like. rewear things you already have as long as you can!#in which case like. i'm doin ok i think.#anyway. did anyone need this post? probably not. what is a perblog for if not luxuriant omphaloskepsis tho.#mundanities#sartorial#textiles

Pure Pooja Cotton Wicks: Essential for Your Sacred Rituals
In the realm of spirituality and religious practices, certain elements hold a profound significance, acting as conduits for divine energy and blessings. Among these, the humble cotton wick occupies a special place, especially in the context of pooja rituals. Pure pooja cotton wicks are more than just a means to light a flame; they symbolize purity, devotion, and the illumination of the soul. This article delves into the importance of pure cotton wicks in pooja, their benefits, and how to select the best wicks to enhance your sacred rituals.
The Symbolism of Lighting a Lamp in Pooja
Lighting a lamp during pooja is a practice steeped in symbolism and tradition. In Hinduism and many other cultures, the act of lighting a lamp signifies the dispelling of darkness and ignorance, bringing in light, knowledge, and wisdom. The flame represents the presence of the divine, guiding us towards righteousness and spiritual awakening.
A cotton wick, soaked in oil or ghee, is the medium that sustains this sacred flame. It is believed that the quality of the wick and the oil used can influence the efficacy of the ritual, making the choice of wick an essential aspect of pooja preparations.
Why Pure Cotton Wicks are Preferred
Pure cotton wicks are traditionally favored in pooja rituals for several reasons:
1. Purity and Natural Origin
Cotton is a natural fiber, symbolizing purity and simplicity. Using pure cotton wicks aligns with the spiritual intent of maintaining purity in rituals, free from synthetic additives or impurities that could disrupt the sanctity of the practice.
2. Clean and Steady Flame
High-quality cotton wicks burn cleanly, producing a steady flame with minimal smoke. This is crucial for maintaining the focus and ambiance required for deep meditation and prayer. A steady flame is also considered a positive omen, indicating the presence and blessings of the divine.
3. Biodegradable and Eco-friendly
In an era where environmental consciousness is paramount, using biodegradable materials in religious practices reflects a commitment to sustainability. Pure cotton wicks decompose naturally, leaving no harmful residues, thus harmonizing spiritual practices with environmental stewardship.
4. Enhanced Absorption
Pure cotton wicks have excellent oil absorption properties. This ensures a consistent supply of fuel to the flame, allowing it to burn brightly and steadily for extended periods, which is particularly important during long rituals or festivals.
Qualities of High-Quality Pooja Cotton Wicks
Not all cotton wicks are created equal. Here are some key qualities that define high-quality pooja cotton wicks:
1. Material and Purity
The best cotton wicks are made from 100% pure, natural cotton. This ensures that they burn cleanly and effectively, without releasing any toxic substances that could interfere with the ritual.
2. Twist and Thickness
The twist and thickness of the wick are crucial for its performance. A well-twisted wick with uniform thickness provides a steady burn and a bright flame. High-quality wicks are crafted to maintain their shape and integrity during burning.
3. Length and Flexibility
The length of the wick should be appropriate for the size of the lamp or diya. Flexible wicks that can be easily shaped and adjusted are preferred, as they can be tailored to fit various types of lamps used in pooja.
4. Packaging and Storage
Proper packaging ensures that the wicks remain free from moisture and contaminants. High-quality wicks are often packaged in moisture-resistant, hygienic materials to maintain their purity and effectiveness until use.
Benefits of Using Pure Cotton Wicks in Pooja
1. Enhancing Spiritual Atmosphere
A pure cotton wick produces a clean, bright flame that significantly enhances the spiritual atmosphere. The steady glow creates a serene and sacred ambiance, helping devotees focus on their prayers and meditation.
2. Consistency in Rituals
Consistency is key in rituals, and a high-quality wick ensures a uniform and steady flame throughout the pooja. This helps in maintaining the flow of the ritual without interruptions, ensuring a seamless spiritual experience.
3. Symbolic Significance
Using pure materials in rituals is believed to bring greater spiritual benefits. Pure cotton wicks, representing purity and devotion, align with the spiritual objectives of pooja, facilitating a deeper connection with the divine.
4. Environmental Responsibility
Incorporating eco-friendly practices in religious rituals reflects a holistic approach to spirituality. Using biodegradable cotton wicks minimizes environmental impact, making the rituals more sustainable and responsible.
How to Choose the Best Pooja Cotton Wicks
Selecting the right cotton wicks for pooja involves considering several factors to ensure you get the best quality:
1. Check the Material
Ensure that the wicks are made from 100% pure cotton. Avoid wicks that contain synthetic fibers or chemical treatments, as these can produce harmful smoke and affect the quality of the flame.
2. Examine the Twist and Thickness
Look for wicks that are uniformly twisted and of consistent thickness. This ensures a steady burn and a bright flame. Well-twisted wicks are also less likely to unravel during use.
3. Test the Absorption
High-quality wicks should absorb oil efficiently. You can test this by placing a small section of the wick in oil and observing how quickly it draws the oil up. Efficient oil absorption is crucial for a consistent flame.
4. Consider the Length and Flexibility
Choose wicks that are the appropriate length for your lamps or diyas. Flexible wicks that can be easily shaped and adjusted are ideal for different types of pooja setups.
5. Review Packaging
Ensure that the wicks are well-packaged to protect them from moisture and dust. Proper packaging maintains the purity and effectiveness of the wicks until they are used.
Incorporating Cotton Wicks in Various Pooja Rituals
1. Daily Worship
In many households, lighting a lamp as part of daily worship is a common practice. Using pure cotton wicks in these lamps ensures a clean and steady flame, creating a peaceful environment for daily prayers.
2. Festivals and Special Occasions
During festivals and special occasions, lighting multiple lamps and diyas is a tradition. High-quality cotton wicks ensure that these lamps burn brightly throughout the celebrations, enhancing the festive spirit.
3. Meditation and Aarti
Meditation sessions often involve lighting a lamp to create a focused and serene atmosphere. A steady flame from a pure cotton wick helps in maintaining concentration. Similarly, during aarti (ritual of waving lighted lamps before deities), a bright and steady flame is crucial for the ritual’s sanctity.
4. Temple Use
In temples, where lamps are lit continuously, using high-quality cotton wicks ensures that the lamps burn consistently and efficiently. This maintains the sacred ambiance of the temple and supports the uninterrupted flow of rituals.
Conclusion
Pure pooja cotton wicks are an essential component of sacred rituals, embodying the principles of purity, devotion, and sustainability. Their role in producing a clean, steady flame is crucial for enhancing the spiritual atmosphere and ensuring the efficacy of the rituals. By choosing high-quality cotton wicks made from 100% pure cotton, devotees can elevate their pooja experience, fostering a deeper connection with the divine. Whether for daily worship or special occasions, the right cotton wicks are indispensable for maintaining the sanctity and beauty of your spiritual practices.
