Hey! Firstly, in my mind I always think of you as 'V' and want to know if you're comfy being called that?
Secondly, illness stuff has recently changed and I'm fucking freezing all the time. It's near impossible to retain heat and I've taken to wearing a mood ring so I can warm up my hands when it turns black. I desperately need advice and/or just solidarity/to complain. But blegh. Also do you like sweaters? You'd definitely look cute in them.
V is alright, as far as nicknames go, but it's quite casual. Vitya is another option, but I prefer to save it for er.. closer relationships.
As far as dealing with the cold goes, I can relate. My body runs cold quite regularly, to the point that my hands are considerably frigid.
I would recommend hot drinks and warm food, blankets when appropriate, heating packs/pads, pocket warmers (you can get reusable ones), or just more clothes.
The electrical bills for the lab were funded by the council, so I was always able to keep it as warm as I wanted, but that's not possible for everyone. I also keep a set of leather gloves on my person in case my hands get stiff, but that may not be necessary in your situation.
And yes, I do like sweaters. In my opinion, they are equally as lazy as sweatshirts, but far classier. Thus, superior in every way.
#also fun fact different types of fabric insulate heat better than others#silk as well as satin and polyester trap heat in very well#whereas cotton and linen are more airy and better for summer#wool is very warm too and great for the snow#not to mention sustainable#i have several silk scarves that are not only very visually appealing but very practical#i hate synthetic fibers though#dont get me started#fuck acrylic especially#and polyester#hate that shit#you dont even want to know#thedivinemechanism#arcane#viktor arcane#viktor nation#viktor#viknat#asks blog#answered asks#yet another side rant in the tags#cold

a bit of a controversial lolita opinion but i'll like.. never get used to polyester main pcs in lolita @_@
#yes im a huge cotton favorer as yud expect from an oldschoolie but i don't exclusively like cotton tho. im definitely a fan of like#velvet(-een) n jacquard n satin etc etc#im just never a fan of polyesters#even like tulle. outside of pettis... ppl may like it but i honestly wud never wear a tulle dress#sadly most big brands shifted towards printed or patterned dresses dat r 100% polyester.. maybe save 4 accent fabrics#dat r still cotton or such#:[#mika caws

Have I ranted to you lot about the person who was looking for donations of "cotton" (fabric)?
I'm like sure, I have lots of cotton fabric. What kind are you looking for? I have jersey, I have quilting cotton, etc.
Turns out that she didn't actually know much about fabric (good for her for taking on sewing projects like this anyhow), and as far as I can tell meant quilting cotton specifically. To quote: "I'm honestly not sure what you mean about woven - cotton fabrics are woven, I thought..."
And like, I get it. It's hard to learn that sort of thing. I've read multiple guides on different fabric types and still can't recognise most of them. And the fact that I'm embarrassed that I can't recognise what counts as a shirting-weight fabric, or that a fabric is chambray should help me have compassion for someone who didn't have enough, frankly rather esoteric, knowledge of fabric types to know what they didn't know.
But cotton. Have you never read the tag on a t-shirt and seen what percentage cotton it is? Of all the fibre/weave/fabric type mix ups, cotton?
#For example#we had a Reach for the Top question about what linen was from#I buzzed in faster than my teammate#which was good#because he would have said cotton#because he legit didn't know what linen was#and was thinking of household linens#(he may have known about linen but not well enough to think of it)#and I don't complain about flannel vs flannette#especially since one of those you can buy in stores#and the other is a specialty fabric#and I'm sure there's stores that sell it#but I wouldn't know where#people thinking that silk means silk satin#that sort of thing#but cotton is an every day fibre!#how do you not know that?

The disheartening feeling when you bought a really nice fabric and you realise mid project it really doesn’t fit the item you are trying to make.
#this satin looked so pleasant on the roll#but as a petticoat it looks cheap af#and it's so heavy#I knew I should have gone to the bigger fabric store and buy proper cotton muslin#I guess I have to delay my Barbie seance XD#I'm not going without my pink dress !

i simply Do Not Believe in cross grain / straight grain <3
#a joke but i do think that most of the time it doesn't honestly matter#yeah theres like. a fractional difference but its so small it wont matter for like. a lot of things#also like. Most fabric you get is a little offgrain anyway so?????#like if youre working with directional fabrics. or satins or design-y weaves (twills etc) it matters but like. your bog standard cotton???#nah im not fucking arnd with that ill place my shit however is most efficient#sewing

Start Your Clothing Brand
Launching a clothing brand is an exciting venture, especially when you are committed to sustainability. However, sourcing the right sustainable clothing manufacturer can be challenging if you don’t know where to start. This guide will walk you through the essential steps to ensure you partner with a manufacturer who aligns with your values and brand vision.
Step 1: Define Your Sustainability Goals
Before reaching out to manufacturers, establish what sustainability means for your brand. Consider the following:
Materials: Do you want to work with organic cotton, hemp, bamboo, or recycled fabrics?
Certifications: Look for certifications such as GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard), OEKO-TEX, or Fair Trade.
Production Practices: Decide whether you want a manufacturer that uses low-waste production methods or renewable energy.
Having clear goals will help you identify manufacturers that meet your requirements.
Step 2: Research Potential Manufacturers
Start your search by exploring manufacturers who specialize in sustainable practices. Here are some ways to find them:
Online Directories: Platforms like Maker’s Row, Kompass, and Sewport list manufacturers with sustainability credentials.
Trade Shows: Events such as Texworld USA and Sustainable Apparel Coalition gatherings are great for networking with sustainable manufacturers.
Referrals: Reach out to other sustainable brands for recommendations.
Create a shortlist of manufacturers based on their expertise, location, and reputation.
Step 3: Verify Sustainability Credentials
Once you’ve narrowed down your options, dig deeper into their sustainability claims. Here’s how:
Certifications: Ensure the manufacturer holds recognized certifications.
Transparency: Request a detailed breakdown of their sourcing and production processes.
Reviews: Look for testimonials or case studies from their previous clients.
Step 4: Evaluate Their Capabilities
Ensure the manufacturer has the capacity to meet your needs by asking:
Minimum Order Quantities (MOQs): Sustainable manufacturers often have flexible MOQs, which is ideal for startups.
Fabric Options: Confirm they can source the materials you want to use.
Specializations: Check if they specialize in your desired clothing category (e.g., activewear, casual wear, or luxury clothing).
Step 5: Communicate Your Vision
A strong partnership begins with clear communication. Share your brand’s mission, values, and design concepts with potential manufacturers. Provide sketches, tech packs, and material requirements so they can assess your project.
Step 6: Request Samples
Before committing, request product samples to evaluate quality. Pay attention to:
Fabric Feel: Ensure it matches your expectations.
Durability: Test the material for wear and tear.
Workmanship: Examine the stitching, seams, and overall construction.
Step 7: Negotiate Terms and Agreements
Once you find a manufacturer you’re comfortable with, negotiate the terms of your partnership. Key points to discuss include:
Pricing: Ensure the cost aligns with your budget while maintaining sustainability.
Lead Times: Confirm realistic timelines for production.
Contracts: Include clauses that cover quality assurance and ethical practices.
Step 8: Build a Long-Term Relationship
A successful brand depends on strong relationships with manufacturers. Keep the following in mind:
Regular Communication: Stay in touch to monitor progress and address any concerns.
Feedback: Provide constructive feedback on samples and finished products.
Recognition: Acknowledge their efforts and partnership in your branding.
Conclusion
Finding the right sustainable clothing manufacturer is the foundation of a successful clothing brand. By defining your goals, researching thoroughly, and building strong partnerships, you can create a brand that not only resonates with customers but also contributes to a more sustainable future.

Friendly Reminder to shop local.
I needed a particular fabric that I know I cam no longer get at Walmart (75% of the fabric went on clearance and now it's just gone). So I went to the local Sewing Center and found some fabric with the perfect weight and drape.... it was just the wrong color.
Luckily it will still work for what I'm doing.
#it was cheap!#it was 10$#for that same fabric at Walmart it would have been at least $15#the Sewing Center has TONS of fabric... but the majority is cotton blends for quilting#so finding a dress fabric was a bit difficult#i also needed a satin... but good luck getting that (the fabric table is never staffed at Walmart)

getting around to actually making a dice bag by reusing some old fabrics from my cosplay days
decided to use the purple fabric from my Mismagius gijinka cosplay and the kind of hot pink fabric from my Chihiro cosplay
but holy cow i forgot how wriggly the fabric for Mismagius gijinka cosplay way (I forget if it's satin or not, I'll have to ask mother) when I went to trace the pattern I made geeeeebus, and here I was thinking I'll use the fabric again for making another dice bag or a tarot mat wrap/bag lol
#eprika rambles#i'm pretty sure it's satin#oh i wonder how it'll pair with a cotton/woven blend fabric then#i'll just stick a bunch of pins in i guess#also holy moly it's been YEARS since i've touched fabric/sewed anything#this is gonna be fun

simon riley has a home, not a particularly big house in quiet neighborhood, a place where he doesn't wears his gear and doesn't has a knife pocketed at his thigh, where he doesn't hides under another identity, remaining just simon, a sated man with a sweet wife and a chubby baby at his hip, a civilian life he's so desperately tried to seek and that you gifted him.
home with a bright, spacious kitchen where you stood each morning together, with simon's hefty form cloaking you from behind, thick hands trailing under the satin of your nightie, bunching the fabric on your front, where you're pressed against the wood of the kitchen counter, your cat walking on top, before meowing lightly and jumping off onto the floor, knowing that it's best for her to leave you two to be, furling into another room through half opened door.
baby sleeping in the crib, peacefully, a soft lulling melody wafting through the chilly air of the room that keeps your girl sleeping tight, door closed slightly to muffle any possible sounds from disturbing her sleep, your mellowy sounds that slip past your parted lips when simon teases his thick fingers against your sopping folds, cupping your warm pussy beneath the cotton of your panties, swiping across your slit and gathering the oozing slick there.
a family, the one simon would protect with everything he has, to keep you, his sweet wife, always by his side, with your pretty finger adorned by the sparkly, wedding ring that matches his, cooling against your swollen clit where he can't stop teasing you, spreading your folds to the morning air, dripping wet and taking every inch of his girthy cock gracefully, spasming around the girth he feeds you, squeezed tight in your thin, gummy walls.
muffling your hiccuping cries, simon's hips bouncing against your ass, squeezed in his rough palm through the fabric of your nightie, fat supple and spilling from his fingers, as his heavy balls press and slap against your folds, drippy with your slick and his tacky precome, matting the tangle of fuzzed curls of hair on his pelvic and meaty thighs, muscles tensing with webbing heat in his soft belly, rolls of skin rubbing against the small of your back, as he folds himself over you.
he kisses the molassed whimpers from your lips with his searing mouth, pummels into your pussy when your gooey walls flutter and clench, rippling, stuffed full of the thick girth that grinds against your small, sens spot and makes you claw painfully at the wood of the counter, simon's hand gathering your wrist, tying them together by his fingers, the same that currently flick across the small bundle of your nerves, swollen, full of pumping blood, when you cry out loud in the soft furl of his lips.
your darling girl still asleep, cat curled against her small form, tail draped over her slowly breathing body and prolonging her sleep, unable to hear the heavy breaths coming out from the kitchen and the breathy giggles simon completes to devour off from your lips, with his clashing teeth's and greedy tongue, despite your panties being sodden and his cum trailing down the underside of your doughy thighs in viscous, glistening globs.
a home, with a smell of fresh breakfast curling and dissolving into the air of the room, as you stand behind the stove, watching the two sizzling pans as simon busies himself in helping your baby brush her teeth, cradling her against his chest, as she babbles groggily, already all over his ears, as he chuckles hoarsely, bundling her against the bend of his elbow, walking back to the kitchen with a cat meowing at his feet, hungry too.
