So I have ADHD to the point it's gotten hard to read physical novels. My friend and I have been listening to the audiobook versions of Chronicles of the Imaginarium Geographica, and there isn't one for Dragons of Winter. As a result, we're going to record a chapter each, alternating as we go, and send the audio to each other. I bought the hardcover online and:
IT'S ARRIVING ON CARETAKER DAY Y'ALL
I'm excited. 10/10 good job Simon and Schuster

According to a poll, very many people on tumblr do not know who Tummeler is.
Mr. B. Tummeler is the father of Uncas and the grandfather of Fred, and he lives on Paralon. He is a renowned foodie, playwright and publisher. He also compiled the Library of Alexandria into one volume.
He looks like this:

Midnight Burger on the Nameless Isles
So like…What if Midnight Burger ended up on the Nameless Isle where Tamerlane House is? Like…Midnight Burger characters interacting with the Caretaker Emeritus. Caspar and Poe bonding over both being sad old men. Gloria and the Badgers swapping recipes.
Jack and Charles and everyone being absolutely amazed with Zebulon and Effie’s radio. Getting into an argument with…Twain maybe? Ava and Archimedes arguing over science things. Caspar getting into an argument with at least one of the Prophecy Scowler trio.
Wait! Kepler is there…..Lief and Kepler could discuss the city on the moon. Hm…need to relisten to all of Midnight Burger see who else among the Caretaker’s Emeritus has been dropped.Oh! Depending on when MB arrives would be interesting if Ava got into an argument with all the Sci Fi authors. Especially Bradbury given the Butterfly effect bit in the first episode Lief and co introducing Rose to a Monte Cristo Sandwich. Hm…Better yet, Introduce Dumas Pere to it. Huh….how old is the Monte Cristo as a Sandwich? Could this be a reverse of Shakespeare inspiring the Pyramids? Poe of course asking the Midnight Burger gang about Pistachios. Caretakers, and also Houdini and Doyle trying to puzzle out how the hell the Dinner Works. Some comparison to the Midnight Abbey/House on the Borderland. At least one of the Midnight Burger Gang has to have read Charles’ stuff. I’m thinking…Ava cause it wouldn’t be in character, but it would be funny. Oh! Ransom has probably been to Midnight Burger before, and they’ve likely served a Charles at some point. Verne at some point in the past (CotIG Verne I mean) ending up there.
Probably a fair amount of flirting. A decent amount. At least with Shakespeare, Wilde, and Byron out and about.
Leif somehow getting his hands on an Anabasis Machine. Or getting Watches for everybody. Hm…wonder if Adepts like Rose or Edmund with his Chronography could…mess with or help the Dinner at all…hmm
Ah wait…possible the Master of Tamerlane House and co would offer food. Feast Beasts providing an excellent spread. WAIT! The dinner ended up inside a mall…It could easily fit somewhere inside Tamerlane House itself…although…given the relative sentience of each building…maybe the Dinner would initially land within Tamerlane House then get…shunted just outside it…or maybe into the Boat House. Or one of the other islands. The one with the Nightmare Abbey/House on the Borderland? Or the one where the backup Hotel D’Auliers is? Hm…what if it ended up in the Basement with the Redbull…and who knows how many people who got Cask of Amontilladod…Amontilladoed?
Laura Glue and Gloria hanging out would be cool.
Oh! What havoc could Zebulon and Effie wreak in Tamerlane House! What if they get stuck in DaVinci’s Treadmill! Will this make sense to anyone but me? Probably not. Do go read the Chronicles of the Imaginarium Geographica (first book Here there be Dragons) and listen the Podcast Midnight Burger.
Make of this What you Will.
Al, the Chronographing Cottager and Prince of Naming. A Scowler and a Gentlebeing

Trying to find the COTIG books has been nearly impossible. Now it looks like they've been re-released and combined into volumes. Are they still the same or have they been tweaked? Quite frankly, I'd rather have the books be separate as they were (blue here there be dragons cover my friend!!!)

Need to find the source on this….need to keep this new info in mind for Scowlery reasons.
@anyawen @dragonautical @imaginarydiscographies @feadaeGiven the subject of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and Bigfoot feel I should tag the lot of you in particular
Now I just want a Buzzfeed Unsolved esque thingamajig staring Arthur Conan Doyle and Houdini…it would be amazing!
TIL that in 1903, a man named George Edalji was convicted of killing and mutilating livestock in Staffordshire.
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, being interested in justice, took up the cause of freeing Mr. Edalji, as he believed the conviction was based on racism rather than evidence. His efforts eventually led to Edalji's pardon and an overhaul of legal proceedings. Edalji went on to become a lawyer, himself.
This is all very interesting and significant, but the punchline of the story is that Conan Doyle, being also interested in bullshit, had an alternative suspect for the livestock deaths. He thought it was Bigfoot.
#Sir Arthur Conan Doyle#Bigfoot?#CotIG#Chronicles of the Imaginarium Geographica Cryptids#Wait I think there was a Doyle and Houdini starring detective show similar called Houdini and Doyle? I think

I may be the one of the 5 people in the universe that read Chronicles of the Imaginarium Geographica as a child and well. The quote (idk how its in the original cuz I read them in my native lang) of [ “Here be dragons” on a map isn’t a word of warning or a threat, they’re a word of reassurement and comfort] has stuck with me for years. I remember as a 10 yo I could barely comprehend what was going on in books 3-5 but the vibes of this series.. maaaaan

Only like, two people will get this, but Eskel from the Witcher (Netflix) and Chaz from the Chronicles of the Imaginary Geographica. Here is my evidence:
Trees
Fire
Scars

@cannondisabledcharacters His arm is missing in of them except for The First Dragon, but because of time travel, the actual amputation actually happens in The Indigo King or The Shadow Dragons, I think.

In all fairness, if we're really discussing first lines, well – while I second all (or most) those well-beloved and famous ones, I do want to mention the first line of Here, There Be Dragons as an excellent line to start a series:
The slim, cream-colored note may just as well have been inserted into a bottle and tossed into the ocean rather than sent by post, for by the time John received it, the professor was already dead.

I wonder what would happen if Don Quixote after some severe head trauma found himself in Camelot in stead of our beloved Connecticut Yankee. Alternatively, if Hank found himself squire to the good Lord of Lamancha in place of Sancho or a certain badger. Either scenario sounds interesting. Like…what if Don Quixote crossed paths with King Pellinore? Imagine that
