demon brothers + dateables as destinations in the human world
✎ a/n: these are my opinions! i'm south and west asian, so i am most knowlegeable about those countries, please correct me if i've said anything incorrect!
LUCIFER
new york city, usa. he likes the cold, industrial corporate feel of nyc. it helps him avoid his feelings.
anywhere in germany. he likes their no-nonsense culture and unspoken social rules.
MAMMON
las vegas, nevada, usa. he always begs mc to take him there. the flashy lights and casinos are right up his alley.
dubai, uae. he loves the luxurious feel of it, and how its the center of celebrity gatherings, vacations, and parties.
LEVIATHAN
tokyo, japan (especially the akihabara/electronic district). he's always updated on pop culture and the newest technology/games.
seychelles island, africa. he likes swimming, but not socializing on the beach. that's why he likes isolated islands.
SATAN
london, england. he's interested in their medival history and seeing the places that inspired novels like harry potter and the sherlock holmes franchise.
cat island in japan, or any mediterranean country where cats freely roam.
ASMODEUS
paris, france. he'd love paris fashion week. he also just seems french to me, idk.
seoul, south korea. he'd adore seoul's culture, everything from the modern sappy kdramas to traditional dresses, like hanbok. he would bring an empty suitcase to stuff it with beauty products.
BEELZEBUB
mumbai, india. this metropolitan city in india offers so many different kinds of food. he would love to eat his way through the city, if not the entire country.
every city in mexico. he'd try the regional cuisine, but also hang out at the beach with his brothers and mc (so cute).
BELPHEGOR
cairo, egypt. he was once fascinated with humans, and often watched them build civilizations from heaven when he was an angel. he would enjoy the historical wonders of egypt.
reykjavic, iceland. idk why he just gives me iceland vibes. life there can be slow and cold, and it often gets less light than other countries.
DIAVOLO
transylvania, romania. he loves its breathtaking castles and culture, and is intrigued with all the pop culture references of vampires.
petra, jordan. this is a significant place in abrahamic religions, known for being haunted by demons, or jinn. diavolo would be fascinated by this history, whether its actually haunted or not. i know he'd eat up those scary ghost tours (insert fic about that here) and even probably try and scare a few tourist groups, despite barbatos advising him against it.
BARBATOS
istanbul, turkiye. istanbul has well-maintained structures from the byzantine empire, the ottoman empire, and even "newer and hip" neighborhoods. barbatos, being able to see the past and future, would appreciate the blend of it all here, like he's walking through time.
kathmandu, nepal. he'd enjoy the peace of monasteries and mountains, which are as old as the earth itself.
SIMEON
tuscany, italy. he'd enjoy the vast fields, heavenly sunsets, small towns and historic churches. he would find tuscany a peaceful place to write, but appreciates the community feel of small italian towns. would definitely be so friendly he'd get invited to eat dinner at a random family's house.
thessaloniki, greece. he would absolutely love seeing all the greek orthodox churches there, with their blue and white colors and dome roofs. he is just amused to see the religious structures humans have created. he'd also probably be interested in greek mythology, even though he's an angel.
LUKE
cape town, south africa. he would be so excited to see penguins at the beach and would enjoy the burst of color south africa offers. he'd also enjoy the modern bakeries and desserts in south africa.
lyon, france. the country is known for desserts. luke would probably take a baking class there to learn how to bake more things.
SOLOMON
salem, or just any small town in massachusetts. as a sorcerer, he's intrigued with their history of "witch hunting" and the paranormal.
lalibela, ethiopia. being old, he's intrigued with how ancient cities like lalibela have changed since biblical times. he also probably enjoys learning about different cultural practices and what they have in common with his sorcery. he also wants to learn how to cook more dishes from different countries, but fails miserably

"On Monday this week [first week of December, 2023], workers in London’s financial centre were met with an unfamiliar sight – and sound. Around 100 chorists, some sporting bowler hats, had gathered at the headquarters of the City’s biggest fossil fuel-backing corporations to sing in protest.
The singers, encompassing a range of generations and vocal pitches, were part of the Climate Choir Movement, a network of choirs that officially launched in January 2023. While world leaders convened at the Cop28 climate summit in Dubai, they raised their voices in support of the Stop Ecocide campaign, which is working to criminalise the destruction of the environment.
The Climate Choir Movement’s co-founder Jo Flanagan first formed a choir in April 2022 with Extinction Rebellion to protest against HSBC’s fossil fuel investments at the bank’s AGM. Dressed smartly to blend in with shareholders, the singers rose up from their seats to disrupt the meeting with a rendition of the Abba classic "Money, Money, Money," the lyrics adapted to urge HSBC to finance renewable energy. [Note: A+ Song choice for this, tbh]
Flanagan had been inspired by a video of US activists singing as a flashmob in the middle of a conference speech to protest against greenwashing. “It made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck,” she recalls. “They walked out of the room in a very dignified way, still singing. I just thought, that’s the way I want to do it.”
Since then, the movement has grown from its first choir in Bristol to 10 choirs across the UK, with around 550 members at the time of writing. The local choirs organise their own rehearsals and protests, while all movement members can attend monthly sessions on Zoom where they learn new songs, to be performed at protests like the one in London.
For Ruth Routledge, who works as a singing for health practitioner and leads the Portsmouth choir in her spare time, taking part in this action was a “wonderful, uplifting” experience. “Singing and harmonising together is a very beautiful way to protest,” she says. “There’s something very gentle, very moving, and very powerful about it. It’s so vulnerable. There’s just a real naked, stripped back humanity that I think cuts through a lot of noise.”
The movement welcomes all new members, regardless of singing ability. Routledge was touched when some passersby – including “a couple of lads” – joined in with the songs.
She is eager for others to experience the sense of hope that singing together brings. “I feel very passionately about the state of the environment. I’m very concerned about my children’s futures, and I’m concerned about the whole world. It keeps me awake at night.
“Joining together means we’re not isolated, worrying that the world is on fire and no one’s going to do anything.”
For Flanagan, what sets the movement apart from other choirs that sing songs about nature is its targeted approach. “We organise very carefully choreographed, peaceful performance protests. We want to change hearts and minds.”
Seeing onlookers in tears illustrates to her what singing can achieve. “It reaches deep inside people in a way that other forms of protest can’t.”"

Struggling to finish your goals?
Make a list of why that goal matters to you and the ideal outcome of completing that goal. Sometimes we need a visual reference of why we’re doing what we’re doing.
I didn’t feel like working on my finance degree today, and I had to remind myself why I want to complete it.
Why it matters to me:
1. I need the financial knowledge to further accelerate my career in different fields
2. It’ll help me immensely in terms of opportunities because I work on the corporate world
3. Not many people my age are doing this particular course, so completing it will help me stand out, and show something productive on my resume
Ideal outcome of completing the goal:
“I’m sitting at my new job in the financial markets preferably in Dubai, and I can understand what is going on because of my finance degree. My seniors think of me as capable and growth oriented and as a result, they take me on important projects where I get to expand my learning and meet new, high profile individuals. By establishing long term relationships with them, I create a business which becomes hugely successful due to its social impact, whilst not compromising financially.”
It may seem far fetched to you but when you allow yourself to think ahead and decide how a certain goal will determine a certain outcome, it makes you feel motivated to try again and give it your best shot.

On this day, 3 July 1988, the United States Navy shot down Iran Air flight 655, a civilian passenger plane with 290 people on board, all of whom were killed. The victims included 66 children, and an entire family of 16 who were on their way to a wedding in Dubai. The incident took place during the war between Iran and Iraq, which was led by Saddam Hussein and backed by the US. It followed a catalogue of errors, including the naval officer in charge of firing the missile aboard the USS Vincennes hitting the wrong key no fewer than 23 times before it was eventually fired. The US military then claimed that the Vincennes was rushing to defend a merchant vessel under attack from Iran when an aircraft outside the commercial air corridor was descending in "attack mode" towards the ship – which was false on all three counts. They also tried to claim the ship was in international waters, and naval officials even deleted an Iranian island from the map they showed to Congress. In fact it was in Iranian waters, in clear violation of international law. Meanwhile, the US media backed up the official line, with the New York Times apportioning blame to the pilot, Mohsen Rezaian, and Iran. In the aftermath, officers and crew of the Vincennes were welcomed home and decorated as heroes, receiving combat action ribbons and in one case a Commendation Medal for "heroic achievement" for "quickly and precisely complet[ing] the firing procedure." The Captain was later awarded the Legion of Merit for "exceptionally meritorious conduct as a commanding officer." Donations from the public to construct a monument honouring the USS Vincennes in Indiana also shot up following the incident, and the monument was constructed and dedicated the following year. More than 400 oil and gas projects were approved globally in the last two years despite calls to abandon all new hydrocarbon development, new figures showed as the UN COP28 climate talks opened Thursday. With greenhouse gas emissions threatening to heat the planet to catastrophic levels, countries at the talks in Dubai are under pressure to agree to phase out oil, gas and coal in order to meet the Paris Agreement goal of limiting warming to 1.5 degrees. Nearly 200 private and public corporations across 58 countries were involved in the 437 new fossil fuel projects, according to figures from the nonprofit Reclaim Finance, based on data from Rystad Energy consultants. The data demonstrates the mismatch between the continuing exploitation of fossil fuels—responsible for most of humanity's greenhouse gases—and the target of limiting warming. "We are in denial about the environmental emergency and the conclusions drawn by IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) scientists," Lucie Pinson of Reclaim Finance told AFP.

in honor of @iwtvfanevents a meal to remember event, here's an iwtv fic rec post with a twist: all of these fics range from 20-50 kudos ONLY. no popular fics. my blog is first and foremost a supporter of small businesses.
a song of blood and teeth by exastris_scientia (@keepoffthetardis): asoiaf au! there's nothing i like better than an intelligently written au, and this is definitely the best one i've seen in the fandom yet. i recommend reading it even if ur unfamiliar with asoiaf (i've never read a word by george rr martin and i still enjoyed this a great deal)
vacation by bandedbulbussnarfblat (@bandedbulbussnarfblat): just thinking abt this fic sends me into hysterics. never before have i been reading an armandaniel fic and sat there like "no i agree w the toxic psychopath vampire. that's a fucked up thing to do :/"
a memory is a ghost (regret, regret) by flowerplots (@enterprisery): reading this the first time knocked me backwards thru time. AMAZING louisdaniel fic written by one of the biggest brains to ever brain. flowerplot's ideas are always so unique and such a delight to read.
a memory is a memory (is a memory?) by flowerplots (@enterprisery): GOOD LORD. this is a follow-up to the previous fic that somehow made me even more insane. leans hard on the idea of not being able to trust a word being said because none of it happened but it all happened. except of course when it didn't.
when teeth bite in by patrokla: short but INCREDIBLE. my brain turns over theories abt what happened post-1973 interview and how it connects to present-day dubai like a rotissiere chicken 24/7. i love the prose in this fic especially. i think abt "[Daniel] would say it, but he’s experiencing a distinct melting sensation. He’s only barely corporeal. He's losing himself" every single day.
Who Wore it Best? by whimsy_walrus: lestat and daniel slept together in new orleans. this is canon to me. i fantasize abt hacking into rollins' computer and replacing whatever s2 script's been written w this instead
Toward the Blue Peninsula by adreadfulidea: obsessed with gen claudia-focused fics and this one has gotta be my favorite one in existence. i hope in this universe where claudia escaped to europe she lived happy eternity writing poems with emily dickenson the vampire
reliquary by weathermood (@weather-mood): LOUIS' CANE. i'm always thinking abt louis' cane. and what does the wonderful weathermood do? give me even more reason to obsess over it. this fic HAUNTS ME.
happy reading! :D
#this is no hate to popular fics but i always see the same ones rec'd over and over and it makes me sad :(#fic rec#iwtv#mine#a meal to remember

the Interview with the Vampire kink meme continues to be everythinggggg
did you see yesterday's fill? The Interview. brain-melting.
endless thanks to @vampire-dove for maintaining this anon kink meme for us.
i'm going to share some of the prompts going on over there. We are serving VENICE! We are serving Claudeleine! We are serving Louis's first meal! We are serving whump, BDSM, pregnancy, high school au soul bonds, and more! please go add more. please fill prompts. please pulverize these vampires' cervices into dust.
Prompts [6/?]:
Lestat de Lioncourt/Louis de Pointe du Lac Soul Bond, Fate, Hubris
"High school AU. Just because their soul marks match doesn't mean Louis de Pointe du Lac has to choose Lestat de Lioncourt. He can date other guys until he finds someone who is a better temperamental match. That is a thing that he can do."
--
Armand/Louis de Pointe du Lac Dominant Louis de Pointe du Lac, Spanking, Whipping, BDSM, Corporal Punishment, Rough Sex, Submissive Armand, Dom/sub Kinks: impact play, submission, dom/sub. Maybe light dub-com. Maybe rough sex, writer’s choice
"Basically the title - Louis punishes Armand. With the implements hanging in the Dubai bedroom, or with other tools in another era. For what? Writer’s choice! Maybe something as silly as his sassiness as Rashid, or his rudeness in his fight over the Stein photos. Or as serious as punishing him for Paris, as if Louis could ever punish him enough for Paris. Or maybe Paris is always an unspoken part of punishment. Armand craves to submit and get whatever punishment Louis wants to give him.
"NOTES: Monster sex is not safe, these guys don’t use aftercare or safe words! But it’s ultimately healthy, careful, and gives both characters something they need. References to Armand’ s past are fine, but please no flashbacks"
--
Armand/Lestat de Lioncourt "Can include Marius if so desired.
"Everyone knows that Marius’ pick for a successor is the handsome young French aristocrat who arrived. Amadeo is fully prepared to hate him for taking Marius’ attention away from him. But as they start to spend more time together, he doesn’t know how to feel when he legitimately likes Lestat. Emotions made no easier when Marius ‘rewards’ Lestat with him, and instead of it being a painful experience, it’s the best in his life.
"Bonus points for Armand literally driven incoherent by pleasure."
--
Lestat de Lioncourt/Louis de Pointe du Lac Wedding Night, Threesome - M/M/M, Spitroasting, Extremely Dubious Consent, Mind Control, Blood Drinking
"Lestat/Louis and their dazed sailor third (dinner)
"On Louis’s first night of vampirism Lestat DOES get Louis the prettiest girl at the party.
"additional tags: mind control sex (of victim), consent not obtained from victim but he is delighted to explore his sexuality (before he dies), please make louis happy on his wedding night. optional: double penetration (lestat&sailor/louis), louis’s exhibitionism, somnophilia, necrophilia"
--
Claudia/Madeleine Celebrities, Forbidden Love, Awkward Crush, Power Imbalance
"Despite all the A-list celebrities ingratiating themselves with new rising hollywood actor Claudia, she only has eyes for her stylist, Madeleine. Her dads/managers Louis and Lestat worry it might be better to get Madeleine out of the picture before Claudia or Madeleine actually gets brave enough to flirt with the other successfully.
"Claudia's agent Armand isn't worried. He's determined.
"Five times Armand set Claudia up with a grasping A-lister and one time Claudia chose her own date. (grasping A-listers are, optionally, Eglee, Sam, Santiago, Celeste, and Basilic)"
--
Armand/Daniel Molloy Spanking, Whipping, Old Daniel Molloy, BDSM, Humiliation, Dom/sub, Mildly Dubious Consent, Submissive Armand
"KINKS: humiliation, impact play, spanking, paddles, floggers, etc. maybe bloodplay, maybe rough sex / up to author.
"PROMPT: Post 2x08. Daniel vaguely remembers the power that Armand held over him in the 1970s. He remembers the need for control. But he can’t believe he missed the other, opposite side. She was a creature who craved to surrender power. He wanted to submit. He looked a little sad and pathetic to Daniel after Louis walked out, but above all, he looked small. Daniel sees it now, this essential submissiveness of Armand, and he doesn’t care about making Armand happy, in this moment. But he does care about getting to flex some power, to humble the pride Armand showed throughout the interview, and to see the the cold, strong Armand forced to submit. Daniel knows he can crack him open. It will take humiliation, and pain, will it take some rough topping? Who knows?
"NOTES: Doesn’t need aftercare or safe words – these are monsters, they don’t need to have safe sex! Might involve some dub-con, but is ultimately healthy and careful with each other. References to Armand’s past are fine, but please no flashbacks"
--
"Daniel whump/ devils minion hurt/comfort (bringing this from my tumblr)
"Armand and Louis really think they are the only ones who see Daniel and go a full life right there I want it. I want to hear it and devour it.
"Plus while Daniel is an old man he's a bby vampire so there's still some of that Vampires desire youth thing mixed in. A group of vampires, older than Daniel for sure, decide well even actually Companions™ take breaks and take occasional lovers so surely it's cool, to mr. steal-your-man Daniel, who notably does not want to be stolen and he does fight back maybe injurers one of them.
"But ultimately the Dubai gang reunites because "Armand someone took Daniel." and Armand is like "okay time to wreck everything." Lestat meets Daniel during this and Daniel is actively working trying to escape because he's stubborn like that. Or Armand reach's out to Louis and is freaking out because "They took my Fledgling, they stole Daniel. They took my boy I will kill the world until he is returned."
"Take it as dead dove dark or as canon typical toxic with a side of genuine love and care as you want."
--
Armand/Daniel Molloy, Armand/Marius de Romanus
"Armand doesn’t know how to tell Marius he’s pregnant with his one night stand Daniel’s baby."

NEW YORK (AP) — The National Rifle Association and its former longtime leader were found liable Friday in a lawsuit centered on the organization’s lavish spending.
The New York jury found that Wayne LaPierre, who was the NRA’s CEO for three decades, misspent millions of dollars of the group’s money on pricey perks, and it ordered him to repay the group $4,351,231. Jurors also found that the NRA omitted or misrepresented information in its tax filings and violated New York law by failing to adopt a whistleblower policy.
LaPierre, 74, sat stone-faced in the front row of the courtroom as the verdict was read aloud. The jury actually found him liable for $5.4 million, but it determined he’d already paid back a little over a million.
The verdict is a win for New York Attorney General Letitia James, a Democrat who campaigned on investigating the NRA’s not-for-profit status. It is the latest blow to the powerful group, which in recent years has been beset by financial troubles and dwindling membership. LaPierre, its longtime face, announced his resignation on the eve of the trial.
NRA general counsel John Frazer and retired finance chief Wilson Phillips were also defendants in the case. Phillips was ordered to pay $2 million in damages to the NRA. Frazer, meanwhile, was found to have violated his duties, but was not ordered to pay any money.
The penalties paid by LaPierre and Phillips will go back to the NRA, which was portrayed in the case both as a defendant that lacked internal controls to prevent misspending and as a victim of that same misconduct.
James also wants the three men to be banned from serving in leadership positions at any charitable organizations that conduct business in New York. A judge will decide that question during the next phase of the state Supreme Court trial.
Another former NRA executive turned whistleblower, Joshua Powell, settled with the state last month, agreeing to testify at the trial, pay the NRA $100,000 and forgo further involvement with nonprofits.
James sued the NRA and its executives in 2020 under her authority to investigate not-for-profits registered in the state.
She originally sought to have the entire organization dissolved, but Manhattan Judge Joel M. Cohen ruled in 2022 that the allegations did not warrant a “corporate death penalty.”
The trial, which began last month, cast a spotlight on the leadership, organizational culture and finances of the powerful lobbying group, which was founded more than 150 years ago in New York City to promote rifle skills and grew into a political juggernaut that influenced federal law and presidential elections.
Before he stepped down, LaPierre, had led the NRA’s day-to-day operations since 1991, acting as its face and becoming one of the country’s most influential figures in shaping gun policy.
During the trial, state lawyers argued that he dodged financial disclosure requirements while treating the NRA as his personal piggy bank, liberally dipping into its coffers for African safaris and other questionable expenditures.
His lawyer cast the trial as a political witch hunt by James.
LaPierre billed the NRA more than $11 million for private jet flights and spent more than $500,000 on eight trips to the Bahamas over a three-year span, state lawyers said.
He also authorized $135 million in NRA contracts for a vendor whose owners showered him with free trips to the Bahamas, Greece, Dubai and India, as well as access to a 108-foot (33-meter) yacht.
LaPierre claimed he hadn’t realized the travel tickets, hotel stays, meals, yacht access and other luxury perks counted as gifts, and that the private jet flights were necessary for his safety.
But he conceded that he had wrongly expensed private flights for his family and accepted vacations from vendors doing business with the NRA without disclosing them.
Among those who testified at the trial was Oliver North, a one-time NRA president and former National Security Council military aide best known for his central role in the Iran-Contra scandal of the 1980s. North, who resigned from the NRA in 2019, said he was pushed out after raising allegations of financial irregularities.
After reporting a $36 million deficit in 2018 fueled largely by misspending, the NRA cut back on longstanding programs that had been core to its mission, including training and education, recreational shooting and law enforcement initiatives. In 2021, it filed for bankruptcy and sought to incorporate in Texas instead of New York, but a judge rejected the move, saying it was an attempt to duck James’ lawsuit.
Despite its recent woes, the NRA remains a political force. Republican presidential hopefuls flocked to its annual convention last year and former President Donald Trump spoke at an NRA event earlier this month — his eighth speech to the association, it said.
