blurb!!!
Cana picks up the tabloid early in the morning, just as the shops are opening. She looks at the cover- at the faces staring at her- and she swears to herself.
"Shit."
She grips it tightly, looking down blankly. There were two pictures side by side, one of two people and the other of a lone girl- her.
The first picture is of her parents, her mother's brown hair tied in a bun and her purple eyes alight with joy. Her father stands at his wife's side, looking at her with so much love.
The second picture is of Cana. The picture was from an older tabloid of her and Laxus, back when everyone thought they were meant to be. She's looking at the camera with a mischievous grin, a card held between her index and middle fingers.
In big bold lettering, above the pictures, is the caption:
GILDARTS AND CORNELIA'S LOVE CHILD, CANA?
She is so fucked.
fairy tail fic where canas parentage gets out when she's like... 15 and everyone loses their shit and there's like tabloids about it.
gildarts is the last 2 know.

Can we get some interaction or relationship headcanons for Lucy with Juvia and Cana?
Sure! I'm gonna keep these shorter in order to fit two in one post, though.
Tumblr media
quick kpop theme song lol
Juvia took a long time to realize she liked girls, let alone was head over heels for Lucy. She is a very emotional person at her core and, having been so unlucky in love and envious of others, has spent a long time idealizing men and categorizing women as enemies.
Lucy doesn't realize it because she tends to measure herself short against other women, but Juvia views her as contemptuously ideal. Like, she's got a great figure, she has no trouble making friends, and she easily earns the attentions of men, despite whatever jokes may be had at her expense.
So even when she realizes she's infatuated with Lucy, she stays in denial for a long time lol.
It takes until she's finally forced to give up on Gray (let's say around the end of the GMG arc) that she finally takes a chance on Lucy. Surprise surprise, when they get along, they really get along.
Lucy helps Juvia channel her more obsessive tendencies and passionate approach to everyday life more healthily. Likewise, Juvia helps Lucy to embrace her emotions as worth more energy and be less defeatist in her personal life.
They do have flaws as a couple. They both think they'd be fantastic romance novelists and are very encouraging to each other, but...some dreams aren't meant to be realized lmao.
Tumblr media
Lucy and Cana spend a long time in that 'yeah I like her...but we'd never work out' phase because because they're juuuuuust different enough to where they get in their heads about it. Lucy, to Cana, is uptight and needs to learn how to unwind while Cana, to Lucy, is always either sloshed or getting sloshed, i.e. a mess.
Even once they get together, they don't have an ideal relationship. Alcohol is a depressant, you know, and Cana's jovial attitude doesn't last forever. Lucy's positive vibes and loyalty to her loves ones' needs are often tested with Cana, who when on her sourest moods can be a drain on good vibes.
It's funny, because it's the two most easygoing girls in the guild, so you wouldn't think they'd actually have any real relationship troubles. But Cana can be irresponsible, blunt and careless and Lucy can be controlling, short-tempered and petty, so it's a rough road.
Cana has an angel and a devil on her shoulder: the angel is Gildarts, her dad, and the devil is Bacchus, her...drinking buddy? Gildarts can be insufferable, because he's downright giddy at the idea of having Lucy as a daughter in law. She's literally an uptown girl who comes from class and money and is educated to boot and Gildarts is absolutely determined to be her father-in-law. Bacchus, meanwhile, exists for the sole purpose of fun and carefree joy and encourages many of Cana's more selfish traits.
Cana only starts realizing her dad might have something worthwhile to say when he opens up and says that he sees flaws in Cana she might've inherited from him: he was unlucky in love because he expected relationships to be easy, fled from any real work to make them function, and lost out on a lot of great people that way. He tells her not to be the Gildarts to Lucy's Cornelia.
Cana swears on her life she's never getting married but Gildarts is already imagining their vows.

Events from Fairy Tail 100 Year Quest will not be acknowledged.
Gildarts is a flirt, but he does not hit on younger women that could pass the age of his daughter. He does not ogle them or express any attraction.
He does not participate actively whenever the older guildmates ogle younger women. Any implication about his perversion will be omitted.
He had been with different women. He sleeps around a lot, but he does not openly advertise his lifestyle to the younger, impressionable guildmates. He has an honor and he values being a good example to them. Yes, he is a cool uncle and he has quirks, but he is serious about being a role model to them.
During Cana‘s revelation of their real relationship, Gildarts did not ruin the moment by enumerating all the women he had been with, trying to guess who her mother is. He recognizes immediately that she is his daughter with Cornelia. It is a heartwarming sincere moment between the father and daughter.
Gildarts and Cana worked through their relationship. It was awkward, and it wasn‘t easy, but he did his best to brave through it and make it up to her. He would not leave just because she expressed her annoyance towards him. He remained as a doting father.
Gildarts had to go away for a year due to Makarov‘s request to investigate the Alvarez Empire. He did not leave Cana behind without a word. He and Cana talked about this mission, and while he did not go into complete details, he gave her a heads-up about going away.
Gildarts would mostly be around during the Alvarez War to help out Fairy Tail. I do not wanna comply with the canon of how abundatly absent he was. He would be strategizing and sharing all the information he gathered.
My canon is flexible. I am open to going with my RP partner‘s divergence as long as it makes sense and does not deviate from Gildarts‘ character.
More TBA.

Gildarts Clive: Hogwarts AU
Tumblr media
Gildarts Clive is a Pureblood wizard that was born on the 26th of March 1952 and started attending Hogwarts on the 1st of September 1963, being sorted into Gryffindor house.
During his Hogwarts years, he mostly hung out with his best friends Ivan and Cornelia before Ivan betrayed them to join Zeref's cause.
Gildarts and Cornelia eventually married but she later left him because all he did was work at the Aurors' Office. Due to this, he never got to know about his daughter who was born later on.
He eventually became the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher at Hogwarts and helped with the mystery about the Chamber of Secrets, and because of the jinx he lost his arm and leg due to the basilisk venom.
He retired from being an auror after that and started working at the Hogs' Head Inn before he rejoined the Order of the Phoenix to help during the Second Wizarding War.
He eventually meet his daughter Cana thanks to this but since she wasn't brave enough to tell him the truth, he merely saw her as a comrade.
He eventually participated in the Battle of Hogwarts which he survived even if it took seven years to reveal that due to a mishap with a Time Turner.
After the seven-year gap, he learned the truth from Cana and immediately accepted her as his daughter while also becoming a loving uncle to his nephew who was born during the seven years he was gone.
He later on also became a loving grandfather to his only granddaughter.
He has a Fir wand with a Phoenix Feather Core.
His Patronus is a Lion.
His favorite subjects are Defense Against the Dark Arts and Charms.
His least favorite subjects are History of Magic and Ancient Runes.

Divination, Foretelling & Seeing the Future, and the side-effects that come with the gift of Sight.
Tumblr media
Shoutout to @hellfrze because this came from screaming about Cana and Gray's dynamic but I need to talk about Cana's Visions. It's something that I've kinda kept purposefully vague over the years because at the time the series wasn't quite finished and I wasn't entirely sure how to implement her abilities in this blog's canon. However, I've had a lot of thought and discussion with various partners ( special shoutout also to my love @shinebrightlikealion for letting me also scream about Cana.............. ) about Cana's ability to see the future and so, in true Ceres (TM) fashion, I will word-vomit all my thoughts and feelings about this!
So, let's start at the beginning and also mention some distinguishing about future vision. We know that seeing the future is canonically possible, as we know that the only other person in FT canon who can see into the future is Carla, who is an exceed from Edolas. So it stands to reason that there are humans who also possess this ability and have likely passed this ability along for generations.
I believe that Cana's abilities were passed down from her mother's side of the family. Her mother's bloodline specifically is a mystery, so she can only guess that this was something that was passed on hereditarily from Cornelia. Whether Cornelia herself had the ability to see the future is anyone's guess. That being said, it's also understood in canon that Cana has high magical aptitude & power, a trait that she shares with one other person-- Gildarts Clive.
The combination of genetics with her future vision passed down from her mother and her inheritance of high magical power from her father brings a unique cocktail that manifests during the early stage of her childhood. Cana's visions manifest just shortly after her mother dies and she is forced to seek out her Gildarts at Fairy Tail. It is then that she begins to receive visions of the future at a young age-- and given that she is still grieving over her mother’s death, along with her disappointment and dismay to learn Gildarts having no knowledge of him having conceived a child, Cana is frightened over what’s happening to her. Her visions come to her in confusing, shattered fragments, like pieces of broken glass from a stained glass window. She can only see a piece of a whole picture, but the picture is something she does not recognize and she is left alone to make sense of what her visions give her.
How this would look to anyone observing Cana is that she will appear as if she is daydreaming; she'll be staring off into space, her body completely still yet you could easily knock her down or move her and she wouldn't even notice. She wouldn't realize anything was happening to her body because her visions had sundered her from her body. She would be severely disassociating and completely vulnerable to the happenings of her environment.
At the time Cana thought that she was sick, and went to Makarov in the hope that he could tell her if there was a treatment. However, the moment Cana described her symptoms, he informed her of what her abilities were and that there was unfortunately no cure. He suggested that if she felt that a vision was about to take her that she find a place that was somewhere quiet and safe. Unfortunately, the halls of the guild were no place for a child to remain safe in, and so she was forced to seek residency at the orphanage ran by the church.
While Father Block was a dedicated man of the cloth, he was too busy to dedicate his time to providing Cana the proper attention that she needed, resulting in Cana having to learn and identify the signs of what triggered a vision and learn how to ground herself once the vision released its hold over her-- all by herself. Cana had to learn how to cope with this ability for several years until she found out through a happy accident that she could channel her abilities by using her tarot cards to ‘guide’ her visions and make sense of what they’re trying to tell her. Now granted Cana was only just beginning to learn how to interpret the mean of the Major and Minor Arcana, but the moment when a vision overtook her senses, the cards acted as a medium for her to interpret and understand just exactly what she saw. Over time she would eventually be able to interpret her visions without the assistance of her cards, but that would be further in the future during her adulthood when her magic develops and matures fully.
This is all well and good a little after she understands what’s happening to her. But as a child, Cana is frightened and scared of her abilities and it’s through trial and error that she ends up figuring out what the signs are of an impending ‘attack’, as it were. For the first year since she came to Fairy Tail, she had no one to help her or comfort her when she came back from a vision, so she couldn’t allow herself to expose how vulnerable and raw that a vision left behind of her. It isn’t until Gray shows up and that they become close that that changes.
Up until now, the only person Cana had ever told anyone about her abilities was Master Makarov; so it is understandably alarming and distressing for another child to witness her vision ‘taking’ over Cana-- for some, it would appear as if Cana is possessed (and they wouldn’t be wrong in a sense), but luckily the vision lasts only a moment, less than a minute or two before Cana is ‘release’. It’s here that she explains reluctantly that sometimes she ‘goes away’ until her episode is done, and then she ‘comes back’. When pressed on whether this was hurting Cana, she explains that the only danger she feels is when a vision takes her before she can prepare herself, meaning she can get somewhere safe so that no one can take advantage of her defenseless state.
I imagine Gray in this instance taking it upon himself to being her shield and protector, to be someone for her to rely on, and eventually he would be able to catch an ‘attack’ early enough to guide Cana to somewhere quiet or to provide a distraction so that she has a moment to prepare herself before her Sight takes her. These episodes are fairly light and normally last about thirty seconds to a minute. However, there are some extreme instances where there is no warning and it’s then that it would be considered an attack that leaves a visceral reaction behind.
The difference between being ‘taken’ and an ‘attack’ is the level of awareness Cana feels in the aftermath and how quickly she recovers from the images that flood her mind. In most cases, Cana can only see fleeting scenes that are very brief and while confusing as a whole, she can place the time and make a distinction of when these events will occur. However, when an attack happens, she is left severely disorientated and overstimulated that she is often collapses from the overload to her senses. Cana copes by grounding herself by using her surroundings and senses to stabilize herself until she calms down, and Gray (perhaps more often than not) is a huge comfort for her when this occurs.
As Cana becomes older, the frequency of being ‘taken’ by her Sight is reduced by a large margin, yet the caveat to this is that the rate of severity and frequency of being ‘attacked’ fluctuates. These attacks proceeds along the timeline of canonically events before Lucy joins Fairy Tail, and it isn’t until Loke joins Fairy Tail that the ‘attacks’ spike, leading to several tragic events that Cana predicts and is unable to prevent.
After Lucy joins Fairy Tail, the ‘attacks’ become few and far between, but unpredictable and leave her in a vulnerable state of uncertainty. The only aid that seems to help manage they symptoms of her ‘attacks’ is from drinking alcohol, which up until this point Cana only participated in drinking under casual circumstances. When she discovers that alcohol numbs her senses to the point that she doesn’t sick or distressed from the ‘attacks’, Cana wastes no time in indulging in this vice whenever the occasion called.
It’s a delicate balancing act for the Seer, and it isn’t by any means a perfect (or healthy) way to cope with the symptoms of her abilities, but it’s all she knows given her current support system and what she goes through mentally while trying to pass her S-Class nomination trials for several years in a row. Could she have let more people know how much she was struggling to cope with her visions? Yes. Would they have helped her? Possibly. Was she willing to open herself up and allow herself to be vulnerable enough to let others know? Nope~! Because to admit that she could see the future would invite questions and scrutiny and doubts, as well as a slew of expectations that Cana would have had no frame of reference to meet, let alone any desire to fulfill. Not to mention, there are days when her ‘attacks’ are so bad that she sometimes can’t distinguish what the difference between ‘reality’ and her vision. The lines blur that they overlap and often she ends up having panic attacks that cripple her, preventing her from even performing everyday tasks let alone her duties as a mage.
And while her visions are treated with a level of respect and reverence, like modern day today, it is very much an invisible disability that a lot of people misunderstand and fail to truly realize how much living with such an ability affects Cana’s everyday life. The only ones that would truly understand what she goes through is Gray, Loke and Mirajane. All three have an unspoken understanding over what Cana goes through and do their best to support her and help her, but more than anything, they give her space to deal with her symptoms without infantilizing her.
Cana is a independent, proud and headstrong but stubborn woman who would never put herself in a position to ask for help, even from the ones she loves. Nevertheless, she desperately needs their support, even if it’s to talk her through an ‘attack’, to guard her when she’s in a dangerous situation, or even just to hold her-- Cana appreciates the help immensely.
Eventually Cana will feel comfortable enough to ask for help when handling her symptoms alone overwhelms her. But until that time, expect her to carry on with a grin and laugh-- just don’t pay too close attention to her complexion, how her pallor is much paler than before, or how her skin shines with sweat, or see the tremors that constantly shiver through her body.
It’s alright-- nothing to see here.

MISC HEADCANONS.
FINANCES. gildarts is famous. he is extremely powerful, renowned, & definitely picks jobs that give tons of compensation. pair this fact with his age & very low maintenance lifestyle, he's very financially secure. the bulk of his money goes into savings, anonymous charities, & guild related emergencies. after he learned of his daughter, he started a secret account for her to inherit in the future, because he has a feeling she'd be too proud to accept it now.
FATHERHOOD. when young, gildarts came to learn that he was essentially infertile. he sought after many medical experts, all of whom informed him that it would be extremely rare & unlikely for him to have a child. while with cornelia, a woman he was highly committed to, fertility remedies were used in hopes of having a child. as far as gildarts knew, they were all failed attempts.
CHILDREN. being that gildarts was told he could never have children, he came accustom to bonding with children of the fairy tail guild. he played the role of a fun uncle & enjoyed spending time with the kids, feeling sympathetic towards those who had no parental figures. he bonded with playful misfits especially, natsu & lisanna being who he was closest to at the time.

Gildarts's Headcanons.
•Gildarts asked Cana for permission to visit Cornelia's tomb.
•Gildarts has in his wallet a photo from his wedding day with Cornelia and one from Cana.
The man also created an album with the help of Mirajane and the Master.
•Laxus was the first and only baby Gildarts ever held in his arms.
Laxus fue el primer y único bebé que Gildarts tomó entre sus brazos. (Lo escribo también en español porque no estoy segura que esa frase el traductor la tradujo bien...)

This feels like something out of To Become a Father.
Tumblr media
Couple that deserves more moments no.2
THE CLIVE FAMILY!
So this is how I picture Cornelia would look like if she were alive: elegant, average height, short-wavy haired lady fit to be Gildarts’ wife unlike the flings he hooks up with. And Cana takes her features after her mother.
And Gildarts is just too tall so part of his head got cropped off :p No scruff since he’s was young!

Hi i saw your post on Nalu HCs and now I’m wondering do you have any HCs on Nalu with Gildarts as a father figure ?( Gildarts seeing how Natsu and Lucy remind him of his and Cornelia love life only their didn’t mess up like he did ) Gildarts giving Natsu love advice while comedy Gildarts kicking Natsu out of Lucy house lol. Gildarts being a father figure to Lucy cause boi does she need it. Just wholesome , comedy and chaotic HCs , it’s a shame theirs not many HCs on them please thank u 🧶
Tumblr media
I am suddenly getting so many Gildarts requests aaaaa I love you all, thanks for all this, yeah? I feel loved.
I think Gildarts isn’t shown to approach Lucy as much because she’s already an older teenager at the time they met? Knowing his personality, he’d come off like Macao and Wakaba with their creepy perverted uncle kind of vibe, instead of a dad one. (Yes, I do not like that in canon either. Why are those two creeping on Mirajane... seriously Mashima... I’m glad Mashima didn’t write Gildarts approaching Lucy much, because I have a good feeling he would’ve taken the same direction.)
But anyways! Let’s start with just Lucy. Honestly, I don’t think Gildarts is much of a ‘father figure’, he’s more of the fun uncle to anyone except Natsu, and that’s because they both like destroying things. But I guess the difference is just kinda semantics, so eh. I like to think he’d put a pedestal on Cana by being all babytalk with her to lovingly annoy her though. He won’t do that with anyone else, and that’s a good balance.
Onto Lucy. I think they didn’t have much time or opportunity before this, so the first time he’ll seriously take interest in Lucy as a person would be on Tenrou after the battles before Acnologia, and probably because Lucy was partners with Cana in the S-class test. He would probably find a coincidental opportunity to come in and maybe thank her for being there for Cana, all that. Lucy would probably deny all that, but then the conversation would turn to Cana, and they’d start agreeing and whining about things like ‘hey, wait! Cana made it to the grave! She should have made it S-class! Damn that Grimoire Heart!’ or ‘she is so strong but she won’t believe it! She’s unbelievable!’ all ranting, so Gildarts can learn as much about Cana as he can, and Lucy can keep ranting about why she helped Cana in the first place.
I like to think Lucy would keep an eye on Gildarts were firmly. I think she would be giving him the equivalent of a shovel talk just to warn him that if he ever, ever messes the damn hell up with being a father again, she will Lucy Kick him up the head, crash magic or not. And she will uphold that promise because she cannot hurt him, but she can in fact put nails in his shoes, tabasco in his food, and mayonnaise in his beer. He is mortified enough to willingly get on his knees to apologize to Cana every time he unwillingly or drunkenly messes up henceforth. And then, he will go find Lucy to treat her to something just so both of them can make up, too.
I’d like to think it would be in one of these times where Lucy tells him why she’s so serious about him being a good father for Cana. Maybe they would both be lightly drunk and she would be ranting. Maybe it’s right after she finds out about her father’s death and she really needs a good cry. She would rant to him, openly, and because she hasn’t actually told everyone the full details of her past with her father, Gildarts would be the first to know. (One detail in all of Lucy’s confrontation scenes with her father is that when Lucy goes back to her friends, we always see her reunion with them from Jude’s perspective, without hearing her explanation to Natsu and gang. I like to think she doesn’t overshare then, she just assures them she’s settled it, she’s coming home with them, and she’s fine now. And they accept her wholeheartedly back where she belongs.) So, Gildarts would be the first to actually get a clear look into the depth of how far she’s been hurt, and how tragic her relationship with her father is. Gildarts resolves to never fail Cana the same way, and that’s enough for Lucy to smile.
I personally headcanon Celestial magic and Card magic are similar due to the same semi-divine connotations, so I like to imagine Gildarts being happy to talk with Lucy about Cornelia, and her history with fortunes. Maybe tell her the story of how they met, and why he believes Cornelia named their daughter Cana. And Lucy would return with the story of how her parents met, how her own name came by, and they would both laugh about how arbitrary parents can be with naming their own children. They would probably both talk about Cana in a worrying parental way, because they’re both worried about overdrinking and recklessness and all, but Cana just won’t listen to their critique. They’re like overbearing mothers and Cana hates that there are two of them now.
They would have a teasing relationship, where Lucy would poke fun of him every time for things like "you’re gonna leave without seeing Cana again? Oh, your poooor daughter!” and he would go ‘urk’. Similarly, if Nalu becomes canonical, (or even if it doesn’t and stays semi the whole way, honestly,) he would tease Lucy in the same way he teases Laxus about being kicked out of the guild during Tenrou. She would also go ‘urk’.
I love the idea of Gildarts being the scary dad figure. Lucy wouldn’t ask for him to protect her, she just doesn’t think it necessary-- but somehow, at some point, she gets pinned under the same umbrella as Cana in that ‘you better not mess with her because you will regret it when the strongest mage in the west comes after your head’ category. Lucy and Cana are both annoyed by it because they do not need that dumb thing, it’s scaring away customers, and most of all, I can. protect. MYSELF. (Gildarts whines because he’s not doing it because he thinks they’re weak, he’s doing it as a show of his loooove!) (Both of them make overdramatic reactions of ‘ew no you creepy old man!’ but they’re both grateful)
To be clear, I’m not saying all this in a ‘Cana and Lucy are girlfriends’ way, though you’re free to interpret so. I just think Gildarts would extend some of that love to Lucy simply because his regret for failing Cana can span enough for two dear girls that desperately missed a father’s love in their lives, and he’s more than willing to do for Lucy what Jude couldn’t. Because he knows now that it’s not about blood relations, everyone deserves a father’s love. If Macao and Wakaba could do it, maybe he could, too.
More in relation to Natsu. The teasing would never stop for Natsu. He almost never let Natsu live the old crush with Lisanna down, so clearly, now that things changed, he will turn that right the hell back on. Heck, if Nalu’s the openly official relationship of this continuity then I think Lisanna would join in, because that’s kind of in line with her prior personality as the teasing one. Gildarts would chide Natsu about being always being more obsessed with wanderlust than Lucy. Lucy would insist it’s fine, but Gildarts would not, simply because that is what he did and he regretted the hell out of it. (He’s a dad, but that doesn’t mean his advice needs to be followed.) So he just nags, and Natsu ends up grabbing Lucy along so they can both avoid the damn nagging.
I feel Gildarts would project a little. He doesn’t want Natsu to become someone like him, who was too late for Cornelia and almost too late for Cana. He’ll eventually realize that Natsu won’t grow up like him, and Lucy won’t be the next Cornelia-- and he’ll be content, and he’ll finally be able to truly forgive himself.
Honestly, I feel Gildarts would sympathize with Jude, even though (and most likely because) he was a horrible father. Of course, absent and neglectful are two different things, but he would wonder how similar they are, that they both turned away from what needed their love because they both mourned their wives. He wondered if he could have been like him, if the situations were just a little different. He visits Jude’s grave and wondered, if they met on the road at some point after Jude’s business failed, could they have been unlikely friends?

cana smiles in gildarts general direction one day. when she smiles, her eyes shuddering closed with glee, he knows who she is. she can see his cornelia reflected in her so very clearly. so much so, that he questions whether he's her father.
then he sees her fight. he sees her make a snarl of a grin, her glee laid bare for the world, and he knows with complete certainty that she's his daughter.

Laxana Family Headcanons
wow it’s been a HOT minute since I wrote any form of headcanons, so I’m really sorry if I’m a bit rusty. I was originally going to do a longer work, but life simply got in the way. I definitely thought doing something was better than doing nothing. So here it goes! I hope you enjoy!! @lightningstud
For starters, Cana never meets Ivan. The closest she got to meeting him was at the Grand Magic Games, but neither were formally introduced. Laxus is adamant that it would be a cold day in hell before his beloved Cana ever stepped near his disappointment of a father.
It was a bit weird for Laxus to “meet” Gildarts as Cana’s boyfriend, especially since Gildarts was almost a pseudo-father figure to Laxus as well.
It was a really strange interaction too. Gildarts kept switching from joking with Laxus like old times to putting up the “don’t you dare hurt my daughter” persona. (Cana was very annoyed by the latter.)
Obviously, Gildarts supports the relationship. He wants nothing more than to see his daughter happy.
Laxus and Cana don’t actively start to try a family on their own. They’re quite literally the worst two people in the guild at planning...well, anything. So the first baby is definitely a surprise.
Regardless of how long the pair had been together before she finds out, Cana is absolutely terrified.
Her doubts also tend to get the best of her. She continues to think back to all her mother had to do as a single mother, and then her many many years of loneliness as she watched Gildarts from afar.
The second Laxus finds out about these, he’s quick to prove her doubts wrong.
However, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a few of his own.
The last thing that Laxus wants to be is a father like his own dad was to him. It’s the fear that looms over his head the most.
However, just as Laxus prove Cana’s fears wrong, she is able to reassure him with a few simple words.
You are not your father.
They spend the rest of Cana’s pregnancy actually preparing (even if Mirajane is the one pulling this couple through the pregnancy).
Somehow, though neither saw this pregnancy coming, they each begin to actually look forward to it- and their new child.
Freed may or may not have cried tears of joy when he heard they were having a baby.
Bickslow made some weird yet endearing comment that Laxus was sure was supposed to be a congratulations when he’d heard the news.
Evergreen remarked how she was just thankful that it wasn’t herself and Elfman (...this time ;)).
If the baby is a girl, there’s not doubt in my mind they name this child Cornelia Alberona-Dreyar.
If the baby is a boy, I’m not so sure. Though I’m sure the name would have something to do with either Makarov or Gildarts. More than likely Makakrov.
This couple makes sure to name their children after important people in their lives.
It’s important to both of them that their children carry each of their last names. Together, they made the child. Together, they will raise them. Together, they will love them.
I’m not too sure if they’ll have many kids after the one- at least, biologically.
Maybe they’ll have another “surprise” or even two (because as much as I love them, they’re each a bit stubborn and irresponsible).
However, these two will 100% help raise children who come into the guild.
Sure, they may not legally adopt them, but Cana wants to make sure that no child ever feels the way she felt she had to for so many years as she sat in the Fairy Tail Guild Hall.
Overall, their family becomes unexpectedly large. It wasn’t how these two really envisioned their lives going.
However, they’re happy with how it turned out- extremely happy.
There’s no other place these two would rather be than with each other and with their family.

100 Headcanon Challange: Cana Alberona
Cana’s birthday is April 14th
Cana is a sucker for horror movies and novels—Even once conviced the guild to go see a horror movie opening weekend
She has lied to be helping someone move to get out going on a date with someone before
Helping out around the orphanage is one of Cana’s absolute favorite things to do
She honestly sees the children as siblings and probably wants to adopt all of them—but she also knows she can’t
Cana would be such an amazing mom! I think she would even give up alcohol
Cana struggles with anxiety and depression, and uses alcohol as a coping mechanism
Cana doesn’t paint her nails a lot, but when she does, it’s usually red, her favorite color
Cana claims she allergic to coconut because she doesn’t like the taste of it
Cornelia was Italian, and taught Cana how to speak it when she was a child
Cana sometimes slips into Italian when expressing intense emotions
Cana probably knows how to order certain drinks in multiple languages though
When Gildarts found out Cana was his daughter, he wanted to be more active in her life, even if he was out on a job—He writes her letters at least once or twice a week
She didn’t respond to them at first, but after a couple months she finally sent her first letter
Cana and Gray dated when they were 15–Three (3) years before Lucy joined the guild
They only went out for a few months, and no one in the guild knew, or seemed to care, so when they broke up there was little drama
They are still pretty close, and find it very easy to talk to one another
Cana is one of the only people that Gray can truly open up too—and vice versa
Gray was the first person in Fairy Tail to know that Gildarts was Cana’s dad, long before she told Lucy
Which is why his reaction seemed a little over the top on Tenrou—He wanted to spare her some embarrassment
Cana understands Gray better than most of the other guild members, which is the majority of the reason she flirts with Juvia
She knows how uncomfortable it makes Gray, and she wants to help steer Juvia’s attention away from him, as long as she can
Cana is definitely WLW, I mean come on
I can also see her under the trans umbrella
Cana and Loke also had something between them around the time Lucy joined, but they broke up shortly before Loke revealed that he was a Celestial Spirit
Cana’s favorite candy is M&Ms
Cana and Lucy both have keys to each other’s apartments, but Cana uses hers a lot more than Lucy
She usually just wants a hug, but is too embarrassed to ask
Gildarts, worried about Cana’s health, reached out to his daughter and advised that she shouldn’t drink as much as she should
Cana became very upset with her father, telling him he had no right to act like a parent and stopped writing him letters for almost nine (9) months
Gildarts actually came back to Fairy Tail because he was worried about her
They had a long talk and Cana agreed to cut down on drinking—She doesn’t drink at all on missions anymore
Cana becomes the guild master of Fairy Tail, okay, I don’t take criticism

Send me some of your Cana headcanons and please tag me if you do the 100 headcanon challenge
Challenge must be done within the span of 24 hours! Complete or not

Hey. So. I have some thoughts. About Gildarts (@hisreveniens) and the 100 Year Quest that he took -- but more specifically-- the day he left on his journey. Even more specifically how his departure affected Cana and ignited her goal to become an S-Class mage.
At this point in time, I want to make it clear that little Cana is still grieving over her mother’s death and trying to find her way in the world, and with only the last words from her mother being the mention of her father’s name and guild affiliation, she’s carrying this alone. It’s a legacy that she holds close in conjuncture to her grief. So she’s going to follow her mother’s directions and find her father and hope that he can bring her the closure that she couldn’t have so soon after saying good bye at her mother’s grave.
I’m thinking about Cana arriving at Fairy Tail-- small, scared and mourning her mother --asking for a man that would be her father, and finding that yes, he’s here, oh yeah! Gildarts Clive? Oh, he’s our Ace! Who are you? And that question would echo, because who was Cana Alberona? Who was this child to Gildarts, a man of valor and renown, with acolytes and accomplishments that many could scarcely imagine?
It would make Cana realize very quickly that he would have no idea of her existence, and that realization is so heartbreaking that she would begin to question whether her mother was right about him being her father. But she can’t ask her. So now she’s left with the lonely realization that the only one that knows that Cornelia Alberona has died is her daughter, while the man who allegedly loved her and left her behind continued on to become a greatly respected and powerful mage.
And as Cana grapples with her loneliness over the loss of her mother and coming to terms that she needs to tell Gildarts that she’s his daughter, he’s about to leave to find Acnologia to defeat him once and for all in his 100 year quest. While Cana wouldn’t understand that gravity of the situation, she does know that he’s about to embark on a journey that’s dangerous-- possibly to the peril of his own life.
Cana would have approached her father and wondered what his motivations where and why he would do this. I imagine he would tell her that its just what Fairy Tail mages are meant to do, and it’s the responsibility of an S-Class mage to take on jobs to help others when they can’t help themselves. It wouldn’t stick with Cana at first-- she’s a child after all, and she’s still trying to gather her courage to say the words that need to be said. But he’s given her something to think about.
Something to consider and aspire.
And later on when Cana is older, she’ll work hard to prove that she’s a mage he can be proud of, once he defeats Acnologia. Maybe then she’ll have the courage to tell him the truth. In the meantime, she’ll participate. She’ll compete. She’ll fail. Again. And again. And again. And again.
And, for one last time, she’ll try again, or leave. Because her courage is slowly leaving her and the feeling she felt when she was so small and broken hasn’t left and she’s running out of time. She has one last chance, while he’s back from his mission to prove that she’s capable of the responsibility that an S-Class mage expects.
If she’s an S-Class, then maybe she can approach Gildarts. Maybe she can offer to go with him. Yes, he failed his mission-- but so did she. She failed many times trying to attain her goal. But maybe this time, they could try and achieve victory together, not as two mages of Fairy Tail--
But as father and daughter.
Obviously that never happened. But in a way, they both faced Acnologia together and came out of the attack alive.
Terrified. Traumatized. Scarred.
But alive nevertheless.
