Matching portrait of Queen Cordelia-Mercedes and her consort Benedict in the year 990. The couple shared 41 years of a mostly harmonious marriage until her passing in 1005. Her husband went on to live another 21 years out living both of their son and his wife. In his old age Benedict served as a regent for his grandson who became king at only 5 years old.
