The Philippine Navy (PN) is planning to acquire two brand new Dry Docks, as revealed by Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro recently during a Congressional Hearing. A "Dry Dock" by the Way is a Dock which can be drained of Water to allow for the Inspection and Repair of a Ship's Hull.
The two Dry Docks will have a capacity of 3,500 and 8,000 tons and will be used for the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul of the PN's Vessels. Other Equipment to complement the Docks like Boat and Synchro Lifts, Floating and Harbour Cranes, Tugboats, etc. will also be acquired.
If these Plans push thru, then they will greatly enhance the capability of the PN to service on its own its Vessels.

Special Counsel Durham's Testimony Raises Concerns of Misleading Congress
John Durham, the special counsel appointed by former Attorney General Bill Barr to investigate the FBI's handling of the Trump-Russia scandal, recently testified before the House Judiciary Committee. However, his testimony has raised questions about potential false statements and misrepresentations. Let's examine some key aspects of his testimony. Durham's primary task was to uncover evidence supporting former President Donald Trump's claims that the Russia investigation was a politically motivated conspiracy orchestrated by his opponents within the Deep State. However, after a four-year investigation, Durham failed to produce significant evidence to support these claims. He secured guilty pleas from some individuals, such as an FBI lawyer who tampered with an email for a surveillance warrant, but he did not prosecute any high-ranking FBI or Obama administration officials as Trump and his allies had hoped.
Special counsel John Durham is sworn in during a House Judiciary Committee hearing on the FBI's Trump-Russia investigation. During the committee hearing, House Republicans hailed Durham as a hero, despite significant criticism of his final report. However, both Democratic and Republican committee members questioned Durham's statements, suggesting that he either lacked familiarity with essential facts or intentionally attempted to mislead Congress and the public. One notable exchange occurred when Representative Adam Schiff asked Durham about the infamous Trump Tower meeting on June 9, 2016. The meeting involved Donald Trump Jr., Jared Kushner, Paul Manafort, and a Russian lawyer who claimed to have damaging information on Hillary Clinton. Durham dismissed the significance of the meeting, suggesting that people receive similar information all the time. However, this characterization contradicted the findings of special counsel Robert Mueller's report, which documented the discussion of Clinton-related matters during the meeting. In another exchange with Representative Tom McClintock, Durham denied the existence of evidence supporting the central charge of the Trump-Russia collusion allegations, namely, that Trump campaign operatives had contacts with Russian intelligence sources. However, substantial evidence, including contacts between Manafort and Konstantin Kilimnik, a former Manafort employee identified as a Russian agent by US government officials, contradicts Durham's claim. Durham's misleading statements raise concerns about the true purpose of his investigation. Did he conduct an unbiased inquiry, or did he employ the government's resources to bolster Trump's baseless claims about the Russia scandal? His false statements to Congress regarding crucial facts further undermine his credibility and warrant scrutiny, potentially necessitating a separate investigation into his conduct. Overall, the testimony of John Durham before the House Judiciary Committee has left many questioning the integrity and impartiality of his investigation. The inconsistencies and misrepresentations in his statements cast doubt on the validity of his findings and his commitment to the truth. Read the full article

Title: Ethereum's Regulatory Outlook: Insights from Gensler and SEC
- Insights from Gensler on Ethereum's Regulatory Status During recent Congressional hearings, Gary Gensler, the chair of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), refrained from offering his stance on whether Ethereum poses a security risk. This silence contrasts with the stance of former SEC official William Hinman, who dismissed Ethereum's classification as a security back in 2018. Kevin de Patoul, shedding light on the matter, highlighted Gensler's reticence on Ethereum's regulatory status, despite past clarifications from the SEC. - Ethereum's Security Status Amid Regulatory Scrutiny In the realm of regulatory scrutiny, Ethereum's classification as a security remains a contentious issue. While Gensler sidestepped the question during recent Congressional hearings, insights from William Hinman's 2018 speech provided contrasting views. This ambiguity underscores the ongoing debate surrounding Ethereum's regulatory standing. - Ethereum's Price Surge and Regulatory Implications The recent surge in Ethereum's price to $3000 has triggered discussions on its regulatory implications. Keyrock's CEO emphasized that Ethereum's transition to a Proof-of-Stake model may influence its regulatory categorization by the SEC. Furthermore, the excitement surrounding potential spot ETF approvals and the impending EIP-1559 upgrade has fueled speculation on Ethereum's future regulatory landscape. - TD Cowen's Forecast: Ethereum ETF Approval by 2025 Amidst these regulatory deliberations, TD Cowen has forecasted the approval of Ethereum ETFs by the end of 2025. This projection adds to the evolving narrative surrounding Ethereum's regulatory journey and its impact on the broader cryptocurrency market. Read the full article

Congressional Hearings
In recent years our congress (House and Senate) has a lot of “hearings” but almost no “listenings”. Even their hearings aren’t hearings - it seems they have no intention of hearing anything. Let’s start a new movement to just call them “Shoutings” or “Moronic Ramblings”.
The secondary benefit is that I bet we’d have a lot fewer of them. What elected representative would want to schedule a Moronic Rambling?
Just sayin’
