''Omni'', #10, Oct. 1982 Come, sit closer children and let me tell you of the time of "dial-up" internet service. Oh, not interested in this old man's stories are you? Well, I seem to have forgotten the impatience of youth. Run along then. Just know this! CompuServe created the GIF format. Ah, caught your attention have I? Do I observe a look of doubt? Be AWAY with your skepticism. Leave this old man to his memories. Yes, yes, I DID start this conversation but NOW I'M ENDING IT!

It really helped lay the foundation of what the internet was to become. Online chat forums, games, a search engine, you really see its influence everywhere in future internet providers…
her: … Oh, well, well that’s interesting, but like I said I think you’re only gonna need to use Excel for this.
me: Now Excel is interesting because as it is now completely ubiquitous with spreadsheets, and it was a groundbreaking piece of programming at the time of its release, it was actually Lotus 1-2-3 and Visi- *and I’m shot*
