Yep and another important thing is that standard gauge was not widespread in the US until after the civil war as the first transcontinental railroad helped gauge standardization as many Railroad's had been built to Erie Gauge (6 feet) however a large chunk of Railroads in the Western US, Alaska, and Hawaii were built to half that at 3 foot Gauge (sometimes called Yard Gauge or Colorado Gauge) although of course by the 1960s most of the Narrow gauge was either regauged or abandoned with some going on to become Tourist and Heritage Railroads

Ah no they were drunk and they died like men.... By running their train straight off the side of a mountain but the railroad lugged locomotives up out of the canyon and slapped some paint on their and put the locomotive back in service with twisted frames (see Rio Grande Southern #20)

Strasburg did a great job restoring her you would never know she had fallen down a mountain and was held together with what was essentially duck tape and was a disaster waiting to happen it's a miracle she is operational now

If yall have not been on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, please go do it at least once. It is incredible through the canyons in the San Juan Mountains along the Animas River... its just... pictures do NOT do it justice. Do yourself a favor and trust me.

This photo of a supposed Bigfoot was taken south of Silverton, Colorado in 2008. It was taken alongside the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad and seems to show the Bigfoot-like creature walking alongside a river. Not much information around the photo is available.
However, Bigfoot can bring out the worst in people too. In 2010, Rick Lewis, the owner of the now defunct Bigfoot Central in Silverton made an effort to start a "Hunt for Bigfoot" event. This event was going to have a $1,000,000 reward for verifiable photographic evidence of Bigfoot. It would cost a $250 entrance fee to participate and there would only be 400 tickets sold. But in the end, it never happened. The supposed sponsors and host of the event listed on its website didn't know they were sponsors or the host. It is unknown how many people gave their money to Rick Lewis.

Trick or treat from the Colorado Front Range! 🌄🚂
Shout-out to the Georgetown Loop Railroad, the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, and the Royal Gorge Railroad!
Also heard they might be restoring service from Denver to Steamboat Springs and Craig--huzzah!!
I chose to do the Denver Light Rail to celebrate the front range
