Damien Darhk/Malcolm Merlyn + Rip Hunter... I mean, that's almost canon, that is almost what was going on in canon. *snicker*

DC TV (Arrowverse) Scene Breaks

As per previous scene break posts, these were created because I wanted fun scene breaks that were screen reader-friendly at AO3. The images on AO3 are smaller than the versions shared here—I like the larger versions that let you see a bit better the specifics that aren’t always visible in the smaller versions—and due to the coding I use, they only exist when you have creator’s style on, and cannot be viewed as an image.

There's 8 scene breaks for this series, and they're mostly variations on the same theme, lol.

I actually had a terrible time with the sizing for these, because I didn't add any embellishments on the ends to widen them enough to make up for how tall they are, especially the pairs.

Minor edits were made to the colour Flash symbol—mostly in adding the lens flare—so it matched the official Legends of Tomorrow versions of Len and Mick's symbols. Otherwise, those symbols are all as found on the web.

First up, ColdFlashWave (Len Snart/Barry Allen/Mick Rory) with their TV-canon symbols. Have a minor hate/love relationship with Mick's symbol, since the flames at the top means his circle never matches up right. UGH

FlashWave (Barry Allen/Mick Rory), which is actually the couple variation of this poly that I tend to write most, in part because canon makes it easier—Len has more appearances in Flash episodes, I think? But Mick's character survives longer, due to actor choices—but also because there is plenty of ColdFlash filling the fandom, I don't need to be adding to it, lol.

ColdWave (Len Snart/Mick Rory) I've written...a couple of times, usually as part of a lead-up to the poly. I did, actually, use this one in my coffeeshop winter holiday ficlet from a few years ago, because while that's a poly setup, Barry doesn't actually appear in the fic.

ColdFlash (Len Snart/Barry Allen) is the one I made because I already had all the component parts and it was easier to just create it, but I've yet to use it for anything.

The oddball option is intended for David Singh, the police captain of Barry's precinct. It's the CCPD symbol—comics, I think—in between mirrored police captain rank markings. It is 100% for my fic, The Trials of the Hero's Beleaguered Captain, which is from David's POV.

These next three (ColdWave, FlashWave, and ColdFlashWave) were created for my soulmate AU, Only Half the Rainbow, which is a 'meeting your soulmate lets you see colours' variation. Recoloured each of their symbols with a slightly metallic variation of a single primary colour—red for Mick, blue for Len, and yellow for Barry—and only made the three variants that I would use in the fic, so no ColdFlash.

Currently have 285.

2, What's your Ao3 word count?

Roughly about 380k (thought since my writing muses are back, I'm hoping to bump this number up a lot this year!! fingers crossed it happens, but more importantly I don't lose the muses!)

3, What fandoms do you write for?

I've written for Marvel, Star Wars, DC Arrowverse and a few others. Though this year I'm hoping to add Top Gun, more Star Wars, more Marvel and maybe a few new others.

I don't know?? I don't write angsty endings. I'm a happy ending or hopeful ending kinda gal.

7, What's the fic your write with the happiest ending?

lol pretty much all of them. It's the only kind of ending I write.

8, Do you get hate on fics?

I have in the past. But if it's a comment, I usually immediately delete it because I don't need that in my life. I haven't really gotten either other kind of hate for the fic's I write. Or if I have, I honestly just don't remember it. It's not something I try to dwell on anymore.

9, Do you write smut? What kind?

I have! Though not in a while lol but hoping this year I get back into the swing of it.

10, Do you write cross-overs?

Not really. Generally I'll write an AU and mash up the ship I'm writing(or making a board) for into the universe that sparked the idea.

11, Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not to my knowledge!

12, Have you ever had a fic translated?

I have! It was an absolute delight to get asked to do so!

13, Have you ever cowritten a fic before?

I have not! I've talked about it in the past with old friends but nothing ever came of it.

14, What's your all time favourite ship?

This is literally the hardest question ever lmao like, honestly once I decide a ship is "the ship" for the fandom I've fallen into, I love it forever. so like, my fave ship is a constantly routing list lol but currently right now it's: obikin, stony, coldflash, hangster, sterek, superbat.

When a ship sinks it's claws into like these have, they never really go away and the love for it never truly dies.

15, What's your WIP you like to finish, but doubt you ever will?

Ideally all of them! lol but truly, I'd really love to finish the ones I've already posted on Ao3, because they haunt me and I want to be rid of those ghosts.

16, What are your writing strength?

I don't know? Like, there are things about my writing I love but I don't know what I would consider my strength. Maybe dialogue? Making you feel emotions? How do people answer this!!

17, What are your writing weaknesses?

All of them??? lol I really don't know. I don't tend to write long fic's any more, like, my longest put on Ao3 is like around 16k and everything else is below that. So I genuinely don't know what I'm strongest at or weakest at because what I usually do is get a little blurb of a scene in my head, write it out and post it. Like it amazes me how I do any world building, character building, anything building in the 500 to 2k little moments I do write and post. (Though this year I am hoping to bang out a few long fic's, so maybe I'll find out what I'm strong at and what I'm weak at then!)

18, Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

If I do, I do it in like italics or bold, something like that because I can no longer trust translator sites I find (if someone has a reputable one they can share?!!!?!!!?! let me know!!) but I got politely corrected a few too many times and realized since I don't speak another language, I cannot trust what I find.

So for me, I found it to just be like, 'he says this in his native tongue', because that way I'm not butchering something that means a lot to a group of people and nor am I making be guess what I'm trying to say. It's just a personal preference for myself!!!

What fandoms do you write for? I started out doing most of my writing for The Flash/Arrowverse, but most recently have moved on to writing primarily for Stranger Things, Ted Lasso, 9-1-1, and Teen Wolf

Do you respond to comments? I do! I kinda never shut up about how important comments are to a fandom's ecosystem, so when I get them, I answer back!

What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? I don't usually end fics in full angst mode, but maybe the fic with the most bittersweet ending is Unfair. It's a SethKate (From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series) fic set in the aftermath of a sex pollen situation that leaves them both hurt and vulnerable. But there's still that nugget of hope, because they're hurt and vulnerable together.

What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? If I'm going for not just pure fluff factor, but how satisfying the happy ending is in the context of the rest of the fic/the source material, I would say Maybe We'll Get Forty Years Together which is a Jamie/Keeley/Roy future fic set during their wedding where Jamie has a chance to hash things out with his father.

Do you get hate on fics? Every once in a blue moon. I write a lot of polyships, and sometimes those polyships are an amalgamation of two sides of a ship war, and people have opinions about that lol. But generally, no.

Do you write smut? What kind? Sure do! I'd say it's what I write primarily. Generally, I write smut with feelings, or angsty smut. Sometimes it's definitely just smut for smut's sake though, which is also fun! I'm a big supporter of being horny on main.

Do you write cross-overs? I don't. The closest I've gotten is writing an AU based on another tv/show. I don't dislike them in principle, I've just never written one myself.

Have you ever had a fic stolen? Yes! Someone stole Taste of Your Lips (I'm On A Ride) and changed it from the original pairing of Zari/Amaya from Legends of Tomorrow to a Lauren/Camilla RPF and posted it on Wattpad. I'm very grateful to the person who messaged me on Tumblr to let me know, because the thief did take it down when I confronted them about it.

Have you ever had a fic translated? I have, and it's really cool to have been asked. My Buddie fic Exploration has been translated to Chinese.

Have you ever co-written a fic before? Not exactly. I was part of a multi-creator rewrite for season 2 of Legends of Tomorrow, which involved re-plotting and re-drafting as a group, so you could technically count Episode 2: Crisis and Faith.

What's your all-time favourite ship? I'm actually gonna have the dumbest answer for this question because it's a ship I've never written for, probably never will, and don't even really read, but it's Frank Castle and Karen Page from Daredevil/The Punisher. Their dynamic is just exactly what I want out of a ship. No notes.

What's a WIP you'd like to finish, but doubt you ever will? I have an Abby/Buck/Eddie fic that's on permanent hiatus that I almost certainly will never finish, especially because, in working on it, it started to splinter off a lot of ideas and dynamics and scenes I actually want to use for an original novel someday, so I don't see myself ever completing it. I would like to finish that novel though lol.

What are your writing strengths? I think I always feel most proud of my characterization being pretty on point, and I get enough comments to that effect that I don't think I'm just making that up. I also think I'm good at writing in small details that seem minor but make an impact.

What are your writing weaknesses? I fizzle out! I don't have good stamina to go back to something if it's gonna take me more than one sitting to write, which is why most of my stuff falls in the 2-4k range. I also lose steam without feedback and encouragement. My educational background is in creative writing, and I've been a long-time member of fandom, plus part of writer's groups even before then, so the idea of writing being a solitary thing is kinda wild to me.

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? To each their own for this. For me, personally, I'll use a word or a very small sentence I'm reasonably confident is correct in a fic, but for longer sentences, I would write in English and just indicate it was said in another language in the dialogue tag. Plus, even if it was a language I do speak fluently like Frech, it doesn't mean readers do, so I think English is still the way to go.

First fandom you wrote for? So, if we're talking first fic ever, we have to go back to when I was five and six years old and I would make little "books" out of folded index cards where I'd write stories about Sailor Moon or Cardcaptors. My first fic on the Internet was back in my FF.net days, and it was a Kyoya/Haruhi fic for Ouran High School Host Club. My first fic on AO3 was actually a multi-chapter Sterek fic that was never completed and that I've since taken down. The oldest fic of mine you can still find posted on AO3 is a multi-chapter Coldflash fic We Could Keep Things Just The Same, the first chapter of which was posted on February 24th, 2016!

Favourite fic you've ever written? I still feel like I've never topped There's a Menace In My Bed; Can You See His Silhouette. There are some edits I might go back and make with my extra eight (EIGHT!?!) years of writing experience, but the core of what that fic accomplishes? The delicious angst? The emotional minefield of dubious consent/sex pollen/fuck-or-die? The smut as character study? The caretaking? This just hit on a lot of things I like, and I'm really proud of it even all these years later.

for the unpopular/popular opinion thing. . . superhero shipnames can be confusing. especially if there are heroes with the same or similar monikers (i.e: multiple supers, bats, flashes, etc. i hope you get the point). sorry if this sounds weird but. . . but this has bothered me for months, lmao.

I definitely agree, the ship names for superheroes get pretty confusing at times.

So there's WestAllen, which makes sense. Iris West/Barry Allen, just shove their last names together. Very straightforward. Except the comics version of the ship name is NewsFlash. Which I think is cuter for a ship name. While I do like that the show and the comics have separate ship names to make it clearer which version of the characters is being referenced... NewsFlash could easily fit Linda/Wally too. News reporter/Flash.

And WestAllen can easily be confused with Westhallen, which is Iris/Eddie/Barry. They look so much alike my mild dyslexia reminds me it exists.

Then there's KillerVibe - which originated as Caitlin/Cisco because back in S1 everyone knew Cisco would eventually become Vibe and Caitlin Snow was one of the Killer Frosts. Killer Frost as a separate character wasn't even a thing then. So if KillerVibe is Caitlin/Cisco, what is the actual Frost/Cisco ship called? FrostVibe?

Harrisco and Barrisco are another two that make my mild dyslexia squint carefully. Personally I prefer FlashVibe for Barry/Cisco, but that's just me. And, of course, Barrison looks a lot like Harrisco and Barrisco, right? And which version of Harrison Wells is even being referred to for Barrison? Harry? HR? Pre-reveal-Eobard? OG-Harrison Wells??? Harrisco at least is specifically Harry/Cisco, with HR/Cisco being something else I can't remember and Eobard/Cisco being ReverseVibe.

Speaking of Barry/Eobard - when it's not being called Barrison (muddying the waters of that ship name), it's called Eobarry. Which makes sense.

There's ColdFlash. ColdWestAllen. ColdWave. ColdFlashWave. ColdWesthallen. And more. When my eyes aren't cooperating, it takes a bit to parse which one I'm seeing.

It can get overwhelming and sometimes I definitely wish people would just write "Character A/Character B(/etc)" because no matter the order of the character names it's very clear who is being referenced that way. But the ship names can be fun and silly too, so I don't really wish them away either. (Do both? Both is good.) I just wish there was a wiki for this somewhere. (Hilariously, the Yu-Gi-Oh fandom does, in fact, have a shipping wiki for tracking ship names because the ship names for that fandom are pretty wild/have multiple names per ship too.)
