Starting new journey to live music promotion funding
Recently, I got approached by a company called UK Startup. We set a date for a call-back in 2 weeks time after they chased me by email then phone over the summer. I get wary when the other contents of my life are disregarded by any new interloper. Following our call, Sophie Blair sent me an email outlining the process. Essentially, they attribute support, provide a platform to build a business…

You’d barely noticed the crisp night air as you walked down the bustling street, arm-in-arm with your ex. Your outfit clung to your curves, a daring choice for a night out at the club. The city lights bounced off the sequins of your dress, casting a mesmerizing shimmer that caught the eyes of passersby.
Your ex's hand rested possessively on your lower back, and the occasional flirtatious comment and laugh between you made it clear that the evening was meant to rekindle old flames. You were having a decent time, but your mind was far from at ease.
There were so many other things you'd rather be doing.
Your phone was filled with text messages from your friend, who had been nosy about the whole thing, she was the one who set you up for this entire date anyway. She did that because she liked your friend, and wanted you to get out of the picture for her.
The two of you were walking to a popular club in the heart of the city, the line for the entrance was already wrapped around the building.
"Do you wanna stand in line or should we just go back to my place?" Your ex's tone was low and suggestive, and you knew what he wanted.
You sighed, knowing that he wasn't going to like your response, "I'm sorry, but I just want to get a drink and have a good time."
Your ex rolled his eyes, "We can always do that. Just come back with me, please."
His tone was desperate, and you couldn't help but wonder if you'd made a mistake by agreeing to see him again.
Suddenly you felt a hand on your wrist,
"I thought I told you to stay away from her." It was the voice of someone who was trying very hard to remain calm, but the rage was there. You turned around, recognizing the voice instantly.
"Han..."
"Who the hell is this?" Your ex said, not pleased with this interruption.
You felt embarrassed, especially because it was in front of a whole crowd, "This is Han, my friend."
Your ex scoffed, "Friend? That's what they call it nowadays?"
"Shut up. You don't know what you're talking about." Han was practically fuming. You felt his grip tighten as he snaked his arm around you to protectively lay around your waist as if he was afraid to let go.
Your ex’s eyes narrowed, clearly offended by Han's overt display of possessiveness. The crowd around the club seemed to sense the tension, some looking over with curiosity while others tried to ignore the scene.
Han’s gaze remained fixed on your ex, his voice carrying a sharp edge. “I’ve told you before—stay away from her.”
You could see your ex bristling, clearly not liking the turn of events. His voice came out low and threatening, his hands clenched into fists.
"What the hell are you even doing here? Did you follow us?"
Han ignored him and instead turned to look at you. You felt your heart leap into your throat as you looked into his dark brown eyes. You saw a fire burning behind them, an intensity that you had never seen before. He opened his mouth to speak, but the words died on his lips. Instead, he leaned down and pressed his mouth against yours, kissing you deeply.
The kiss was electric, sending sparks throughout your body. You felt your knees grow weak, and your breath quickened. Han pulled away, his eyes searching yours for a moment. He then turned back to your ex, his eyes darkening as he spoke,
"Leave."
Your ex was stunned, his eyes widening as he took in the sight before him.
Han stood there, his jaw clenched and his arms crossed. He was not backing down.
Your ex let out a shaky breath and turned away, muttering a curse under his breath as he left.
Han's eyes followed him until he was out of sight. Then he grabbed your wrist and led you to a secluded area, where he pinned you against the wall.
You gasped as you felt his body pressed against yours, his lips dangerously close to your ear.
"What- What's wrong?" You stammered, trying to regain your composure.
Han's grip tightened, and you winced slightly.
"Why didn't you tell me you were seeing him again?" His voice was low and dangerous, his hot breath tickling your skin.
You were taken aback by his question, your cheeks flushing as you tried to find the words to explain yourself.
"I... It wasn't... it wasn't set up by me."
Han's brow furrowed, and his eyes narrowed. He wasn't convinced.
"Then why didn't you tell me you were hanging out with him? How do I know you didn't plan on going home with him tonight?"
You shook your head, your eyes wide as you tried to make him understand.
"No! No, it wasn't like that, I swear!"
Han's lips were pressed together in a thin line, his expression unreadable.
"Then what was it like?"
Your heart was pounding in your chest, and you were struggling to breathe.
"I was trying to get over you."
You felt his body tense against yours, and he took a step back, his eyes never leaving yours.
"Get over me?"
You nodded, your eyes beginning to sting.
"I like you, Han. But it wouldn't be right for me, because someone else likes you."
Han's eyebrows knitted together, and he ran a hand through his hair.
"Is this about your friend?"
"Yeah, she wants you and she thought maybe if I was out of the picture, she could step in."
Han sighed, his expression softening as he took a step toward you.
"I don't want her."
You felt your heart flutter in your chest, and you held your breath, unsure of what to say.
Han’s confession hung in the air between you, a tender vulnerability in his eyes. His hand gently brushed your cheek, his touch both soothing and electrifying.
“I don’t want her,” he repeated, his voice steady but filled with a deep sincerity. “I want you.”
His words sent a thrill through your body, and you couldn’t stop yourself from leaning in closer, your lips seeking his. His arms wrapped around your waist, drawing you close. His kiss was gentle at first, but quickly became more passionate. You felt his tongue brush against yours, and a moan escaped your lips.
He pressed you against the wall, his hands roaming over your body. You were lost in the moment, the taste of him on your lips, the heat of his touch on your skin. You couldn’t help but wonder if this was a dream or if it was real.
He broke the kiss and stared into your eyes. "Seeing you with that asshole drove me crazy."
You were still dazed, your breathing heavy. You struggled to find the words to respond, but Han continued.
"I wanted to break his fingers, just for touching you."
You gasped as Han's hand drifted up your thigh, pushing the hem of your dress up.
"You're mine."
You nodded, your lips parting as he leaned in to kiss you again, his hand moving between your legs. You gasped, feeling his fingers teasing you, slipping under your panties.
He broke the kiss and pulled away slightly, looking into your eyes.
"Say it."
You swallowed, your eyes fluttering closed.
"I'm yours," you whispered, your breath catching as he slid a finger inside you.
"Good girl."
He pressed his lips to yours, swallowing your moan. You felt his tongue dance across yours as his fingers worked their magic.
You couldn't help but tremble, the cold night air, the feeling him slowly pumping in and out of you, his thumb brushing over your clit. It was all too much.
"You're so wet for me," he whispered, his voice low and husky.
You let out a small whimper, his words sending a wave of pleasure through your body.
He removed his hand, and you heard the sound of a zipper being undone. You opened your eyes, gazing up at him.
"H-Here?" You said, your eyes widened in panic.
He chuckled softly, his hands cupping your ass, lifting you up.
"You think I'm going to wait any longer than I have to?"
He carried you over to a random ledge in the alleyway, the metal surface cool against your heated skin. He lowered you down onto it, the metal creaking beneath your weight.
He reached up, grabbing a handful of your hair and tugging it back. You gasped, exposing your neck to him. He bent down, his lips brushing against the soft skin of your throat, trailing down to the swell of your breasts.
"So beautiful," he murmured, his fingers tracing the contours of your body.
You shivered, feeling the cold air against your exposed flesh. You wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him closer, the need for him growing more and more urgent.
"Please," you breathed, unable to wait any longer.
He grinned, his hand sliding between your legs, stroking the sensitive flesh. You shuddered, feeling the heat of his palm against your slick folds.
"What do you want, baby?" He whispered, his fingers tracing light circles on your clit.
You moaned, unable to form a coherent response, your mind clouded by the pleasure his touch was bringing you.
He chuckled, his hand moving lower, slipping a finger inside you. You gasped, feeling him thrusting into you, the sensation sending waves of pleasure coursing through your body.
"Please," you moaned, arching your back, pressing your breasts against his chest.
He leaned in, his lips brushing against yours, his hand moving faster, his thumb circling your clit.
You moaned, your fingers digging into his shoulders as he pleasured you. Your body trembled, the sensation overwhelming. You knew you wouldn't be able to hold back much longer.
"I need you," you whimpered, your breath coming in ragged gasps.
He groaned, his other hand grasping the back of your neck, his lips devouring yours.
"You'll get me, baby."
You shuddered, feeling him pull his finger out of you.
He grabbed the base of his cock, positioning himself at your entrance.
He pressed his lips against yours, his tongue sliding past your lips. You moaned into the kiss, feeling the head of his cock pressing against your slick folds.
You gasped as he thrust inside you, stretching you open, filling you completely.
You moaned, feeling him slide out, only to thrust back in, deeper than before.
You clung to him, your legs wrapped around his waist, your nails digging into his shoulders.
He buried his face in your neck, his teeth grazing the sensitive skin as he rocked his hips, his pace growing faster and harder.
"God, you feel so good," he moaned, his voice strained.
You cried out, feeling him slamming into you, the pressure building within you.
"Don't stop," you pleaded, your eyes fluttering shut as the pleasure threatened to overwhelm you.
He groaned, his hand tangling in your hair, pulling it back as his hips snapped forward, his cock hitting that sweet spot deep inside you.
You cried out, feeling the heat in the pit of your stomach rising.
"I can't," he growled, his breath hot against your ear.
You whimpered, the pressure building, threatening to burst.
He grunted, his grip tightening on your hair.
"Cum for me, baby."
You cried out, your body shuddering as you came, your climax washing over you.
He moaned, his hips bucking, pulling out before his cock twitched as he spilled his seed on your thigh.
You collapsed against the cold metal below you, panting heavily, trying to catch your breath.
You looked up at him, your eyes half-lidded, a smile on your lips.
He grinned, leaning down to kiss you, his hand resting on your cheek.
"Are you okay?" He asked, his eyes filled with concern.
You nodded, taking a deep breath.
"Yeah, I'm fine," you said, your voice shaky.
He kissed you again, his lips lingering against yours.
"But, we are... kind of in a public space."
Han blinked, looking around the alleyway, "We are, aren't we?"
"Uh-huh."
He chuckled, helping you off the ledge.
"That was a bit spontaneous of us."
You giggled, pulling him into another kiss.
"It was," you agreed, smiling up at him. "Let's hope there's no cameras here."
Han glanced up, his brow furrowed.
"Yeah, that's probably for the best."
The two of you dressed quickly, adjusting your clothes and making sure there was no evidence of your little tryst.
He grabbed your hand, his thumb rubbing gentle circles on the back of your hand.
"Where to now?"
You thought for a moment, then shrugged.
"Well, I did want to go dancing."

Nocturnality reigns over Gotham.
The inhabitants of the nefarious city are seemingly governed by restlessness and disturbia. Perhaps, the concept of sleep is their bête noire. Or perhaps, they have grown accustomed to consciousness, worried for what happens when they close their eyes and unwillingly succumb to vulnerability. They lurk in the befouled shadows, sordid and petrified, crawling amongst feculent brick walls and hiding in the haunted subway cars near tagged platforms. Insomniacs hide in stained bedsheets of valium, the homeless make homes of putrid alleyways, but the criminals, the murderers — they would rather avoid the darkness than anyone else.
The darkness belongs to vengeance.
Vengeance wanders the streets, keeping away from flickering lamp posts and busy roadways. Vengeance treks behind the fearful in silence, nothing but a rustling wind and the cries of Arkham in the distance. Vengeance takes to the rooftops, the high-rise buildings, the rickety construction sites, the places where someone may think that they are alone, but they aren’t.
Vengeance is in the sky. And when Gotham looks up to the foreboding clouds in search of a nonexistent place of deliverance called heaven, they see him. Batman.
Not the unlovable Bruce Wayne, the prince of this city and the heir to millionaires — for whoever loved Batman, failed to love Bruce.
Except for one person.
Bruce Wayne doesn’t partake in club culture. He despised the flashing lights and the drunken stench that’d follow him in the midst of wandering hands like it was the river Styx. These poor souls would gander at him like he was Hades himself.
He’s dressed like he’d come from a funeral, the circles around his eyes are similar to feathers of a raven, the black leather that pooled around his body as if it were wings. Appearance wasn’t of importance if you had a high social class, rather if you could even take one fickle step into the world of dirty money and politics, that meant you had to have something going for you. He happened to know a thing or two about all of those, but his knowledge came with a sanguinary price like everything else in the slums and riches of Gotham City.
Love, lust, greed — even vices themselves came with a cost.
He’s a sinner sitting comfortably on an armchair in the exclusive section of the Hayloft Lounge, surrounded by drops and lines of coke that he doesn’t bother taking part in. Everything in sight is a shade of a seductive red, an attempt to be sexy and induce devilish temptations to customers. The dim lighting and cigarette smoke intensifies the neon strobes by the stretched dance floor, and it feels like Bruce is practically bathing in blood as the colors blend into his pale skin.
The lounge, although filled with dealers and neglected daughters, is a place of worship for the lost. Bruce doesn’t want to be here, he isn’t troubled in the same fashion that they are. If he wanted a good time, his first choice wouldn’t be at the Hayloft. Yet business is business, and Alfred would kill him if he decided to skip out on an important deal between Wayne Enterprises and another money-hungry company prone to failure.
Bruce is certainly aware of his cynicism.
He isn’t one to boast, except he wants nothing but to drive back to the confines of his mansion and tell Alfred, ‘I told you this wouldn’t work,’ when his supposed business deal goes sideways — if sideways meant completely and utterly fucked in every position with how many drinks this alleged board member has downed in the twenty minutes Bruce has wasted here.
Having shown up late doesn’t matter. He doesn’t care much for punctuality anymore, neither does he care for the public eye and their assumptions about him.
He wipes the exhaustion from his face with a heavy hand and abandons the comfort of the armchair. The arrival of pole dancers and washed-out moans from the illuminated stage on the second platform are enough to send him barrelling towards the exit, not paying mind to how his broad shoulders merely knock down the animated crowds. The people around him are jumping up and down, dancing bodies swaying to the rhythm and singing along to incomprehensible lyrics that made Bruce question his entire existence.
He keeps his head low. It’s a mistake.
His chest collides with a shorter frame of a body, earning a shocked grunt from both parties. His hand shoots out to grab their wrist, noting how the floors are slippery from a suddenly spilt drink.
“Watch it, will you?”
Bruce looks back towards the snippy voice.
His darkened eyes meet your sour face as you hurriedly slip a fur coat over the expanse of your shoulders, eyelids decorated with messy glitter and strategically placed jewels like some sort of sacred herald. He watches your legs strut out of the vicinity with lengthy strides, obviously intent on getting the fuck out of here.
You glance back at him as well, this time with furrowed eyebrows — simply a look of recognition in passing, then you’re out the door and into the back alleyway before Bruce can say hello to what he believes is an apparition of you.
It had been years since you showed face in Gotham.
He can’t even remember where he last saw you.
Let alone, he can’t even remember you appearing so put-together.
In a club, by all means.
Somehow, your perfume wafts through the booze-filled air. Now, he can’t forget your scent. He can’t get you and that elegant coat, nor those bare thighs beneath the most skin-tight dress he’d ever seen out of his head.
Bruce is never like this with anyone else.
It doesn’t come as a surprise to him when his heart decides to act quicker than his brain, to which he follows after you through the shifting flock of partygoers.
You saw him and frankly, that’s all Bruce cared about.
You saw him, but acted as if you hadn’t known him.
He starts to think he’s at fault.
The alleyway is freezing. Trash bags are practically falling out of the dumpster, pooling with cracked glass and old shiny packets of god-knows-what onto the asphalt. Bruce can feel the heartbeat of the city beneath his combat boots, aching and pounding, nothing but a groggy demonic moan as he watches you standing beneath the monorail track with a lighter in hand.
He compares your resemblance to an angel, a holy miracle that fell right into his lap like an answered prayer. The click of your thumb against the button rings into the emptiness of the street, bouncing off of the walls and to the road.
“Usually when you bump into someone, you’re supposed to say excuse me.”
Shoving cold hands into the pockets of his coat, Bruce takes careful steps until he’s towering beside you. “Since when were you back in Gotham?”
Your hair is longer.
He likes it.
But the lack of sleep is apparent on your features, even with all that makeup and that pretty dress, he isn’t fooled.
He can tell you're exhausted.
You continue to fiddle with the lighter. “Two months ago.”
Bruce hummed at that, nodding his head while he anxiously drags his thumb across his lips. “You didn’t tell me.” He wants nothing but to reach out and touch you, to bring you close to his chest and tuck you underneath his chin like how it used to be. “Why?”
“Why didn’t I tell you or why am I here?” You turn to him.
And fuck, Bruce feels like he’s twenty-six all over again and thinks back to that summer villa in Tuscany: kissing you up and down those gorgeous legs, tasting your fragrance intermixed with sweat, smelling of sex and dripping with youthful desire as he found an altar in your hips.
Bruce isn’t religious — he’s far from it now — but everytime he sees you, he understands why people believe in God.
But there’s an unmistakable fire in your stare, and Bruce isn’t sure if you want him to commit penance or if you were looking to be worshiped. Either way, he’d do anything for you. Even if you loathed him. Even if you hated every part of him, it wouldn’t hurt as much. He hated himself too. What would change?
“You look… beautiful, by the way.” Bruce utters quietly. He sounds almost as if he’s afraid to talk, voice nearly quivering as he notices the ghost of a smirk forming on your lips when he stumbles around your question. He doesn’t seem as dark and brooding at the moment. “Missed seeing you. It’s been years.”
“Yeah, you look like shit, Bruce.”
He cracks a soft laugh at that.
“Feel like it, too if I’m honest.”
He’s always been the quiet type, too scared to accept emotion and voice the thoughts in his head. You recognized that of all people, which is what he liked about you — that you never pushed him.
Your eyes appear kinder, more understanding, and Bruce doesn’t know what he’s expecting but it certainly isn’t the weight of your fingers reaching up to brush through his hair. He feels self-conscious now, especially with the nostalgic gaze you hold as he pathetically leans into the longing touch. He hasn’t been held in ages.
All he wants is your skin against his. He knows just how desperate his thoughts are. But with you, he can’t particularly resist it.
“What’s been troubling you, pretty boy?” Your nails trail down the side of his cheek, reminiscing over the sharpness of his jaw while he sighs at the satisfying feeling. “Missed me that much, huh?”
“More than you know.” He takes your hand and brings it to his lips amorously, kissing along the cracks as if time had never passed in the first place. “No call. Not even a text from you. Thought something happened.”
You chuckled teasingly, “And you didn’t bother to go looking for me? Not even with this vengeance situation you’ve got going on?”
“Trust me, I wanted to.”
“If you wanted to, you would’ve.” You clicked your tongue. “Such a kind boyfriend, Mr. Wayne.”
His yearning gaze flickers down to you, lips leaving traces of wetness along your hand until a faint grin is bestowed upon his despondent features.
“I’m not your boyfriend, Y/N.”
It’s old banter, but nevertheless, it makes Bruce feel warm inside when you send him an unconvinced and slow nod.
“You wish you were though.” You shift on either foot, pulling the coat closer to your chest as your breaths puff into the night. He lets go of your hand, and you watch each other intently as you mirror one another’s movements like clockwork.
He can still taste your skin in his mouth.
“We both know neither of us are capable of commitment.” Bruce whispers matter-of-factly, glancing towards the street with newfound meekness. “We’ve established that. You never stick around long enough. And I… I just can’t.”
“Yet we always end up in each other’s beds.”
He’ll never get used to that wittiness.
You’re too smart for your own good.
“Personally, I think yours is a bit more comfortable.” He admits humorously, heart growing fonder as another sweet hymn of a laugh escapes you. “There’s something special about mattresses with a broken headboard.”
For once, his smile reaches the corner of his eyes.
There’s a rustling by the alleyway of the lounge that interrupts the endearing silence between you and Bruce. The backdoor swings open roughly, and the abrupt pulsing of rap music replaces the intimate whistle of the empty sidewalk. Bruce follows your pointed gaze, the corners of his mouth falling back into his signature scowl.
The Hayloft bouncer approaches with heavy and purposeful strides despite being obviously intimidated by the presence of the notable Wayne.
“Y/N, they want you back inside. Regulars have been looking for you.” He takes another glance beside you and bows his head timidly. “Sir.”
Did he hear that correctly?
Bruce can’t find the words, but he takes note of the discomfort in your stance as you follow behind the bouncer. He doesn’t hesitate to grab you by the arm again, pulling you back towards him with a decent amount of force.
“What is he talking about?” He ignores the bouncer’s call of your name and your exasperated protests about his grasp on your shoulder. He can’t read the look on your face, especially when you don’t make eye contact with him.
“Hey, relax.”
He snarls, not in disgust but in frustration. “You work here?”
“Listen…” You dropped your head, glancing down at the toes of your knee-high boots until you’re met with the icy coldness of his pupils. “You have responsibilities and I have mine. It was nice seeing you, but we should leave it at that for now, ‘kay?”
You reach up to kiss his cheek. It’s bittersweet.
For now, he repeats.
“Are you hearing yourself? Is this for money? Is that it?” The possessive anguish on his face is apparent. He doesn’t let go of you. “Y/N, this is…”
“Sweetheart, I’m a dancer. Nothing but a favorite talent here. My services are limited, for your information.” You giggle, tucking a loose strand of hair behind his ear in an effort to defuse his ramblings. He watches you purse your painted lips together, tongue darting out to wet them. “I don’t give myself to just anyone, Mr. Wayne.” He doesn’t miss the underlying meaning behind the declaration. Your voice lowers to a melancholic hush, doe-eyed and irises all glassy. “Now, I gotta go. Be a good boy for me and don’t wait up.”
The pet name causes him to shudder.
And as you reluctantly walk back into the lounge, Bruce is left with nothing but a broken heart and an insatiable, irreplaceable ache between his thighs. His chest heaves with a combination of outrage and dubiety, fingers tracing the burning skin that simply longed for you again.
It’s forty-two degrees in Gotham and yet he’s sweating like a perverted whore in church.
He curses under his breath, then rushes back into the club with the intention to find you. Somehow, he looks even more disheveled, hair sticking to his forehead and drops of sweat beading down his chin as he squints through the reddened fog inside.
The bass vibrates through his entire body and drums into his ears when he nears the dance floor. The panels below his shoes shift into a luminescent white, underlining his jawline and clothing as he pushes past everyone in an unpredictable frenzy.
“Y/N!” Bruce shouts, but even he can’t hear himself over the deafening volume. Odd stares are sent his way when he starts prying random girls off of old men, acting like a madman crazed by an undying affliction for you. It’s as if a fire inside him has reawakened, sparks flying off his fingertips as he tries to reach for you — somewhere.
Is this what addiction does to a person?
The coat. He sees it then as he makes his way into the center of the floor. The white ensemble is halfway down your shoulders, the skin of your collarbones glistening with lustrous warmth as you grind against some stranger. Bruce lewdly studies the parting of your lips, how your jaw falls ajar as the man pulls you closer against his thigh, the enticing visual of your hips rolling as your hands trail up your breasts and your satin dress rides up beneath the touch.
You open your eyes slowly, and somehow, almost as if you knew he was looking, you stare directly at the bitter bachelor. His nostrils flare angrily when you crack the tiniest smile and throw your arms up into the air as if you were having the time of your life.
Like you were getting off on his desperation.
Like this was supposed to be fun for the both of you.
And it is, given the amused pout that you send him as you run the stranger’s hands all over your torso in a teasing fashion. He’s visibly fuming, his anger presenting itself as a scowl and balled fists until he marches over with passionate courage.
Roughly pushing the stranger off of you, Bruce doesn’t break your stare at all. Not even when people around him start to recognize that he’s a powerful Wayne causing a ruckus at a downtown club full of snakes and walking debts. He knows then that you lured him in. That you were expecting this.
He isn’t embarrassed. He knows what you want.
Silently, he grabs you by the waist and tugs you flush against the expanse of his chest. A breathy laugh leaves your throat at his tight grip, fingers digging into your lower back as his hands swallow you whole.
“Hey, handsome.” You purr, biting your lip in eagerness as Bruce’s eyes shamelessly wander over you. Any and all forms of subtlety have left him, gaze following your exposed flesh and legs. “Something got you all riled up?”
“You think this is funny, Y/N?” He sounds strained, like a betrayed animal. His eyebrows knit together, wrinkles appearing on his forehead as he spews his aggravation towards you. “Thought you didn’t ‘give yourself’ to just anyone? Was that not true?” He uses your previous words against you, swaying you to the beat of the music with a dangerous glint in his gaze.
“I don’t quite know what you mean.”
You stifle a yelp when he turns you around in his arms with newfound dominance. Normally, he was the one submitting — but this, you loved this side of him. The side where he showed no restraint, where he let himself use you in any way he pleased, where he handled you like you were nothing but a body for him to use for his own desires and his own wants. His crotch rubs against you as you press yourself further into him. Bruce’s hands rest on the tops of your thighs, then he drags them higher and higher. They skim across your stomach and brush over your ribs until he reaches your ass, where he squeezes at the soft flesh harshly.
It’s needy. It’s crude. But he’s used to filth.
“Mm. Perhaps you need a reminder?” He whispers, looking out into the crowd as his breath fans over you.
“Do tell.”
“That night when you had yourself nice and ready for me, spread out on my bed like some kind of…” Bruce trails off, hissing when you touch the bulge in his pants.
You grin, knowing he’d never call you that word on any other day. “Say it.”
“Some kind of slut.” His ears perk up at your moan. “That was you giving yourself. All of yourself to me. And me only.” His long fingers travel across your spine, then hook over your shoulder to play with the strap of your dress. He wraps a hand around your throat. It’s a sign of possessiveness, even though Bruce was never really a man who claimed ownership over things. He’ll allow himself this. “That time when you had me handcuffed to the chair, fucking yourself on me, begging to cum as if I could even touch you. Even when I couldn’t contribute to your pleasure, you acted as if I was in control. That’s giving yourself.”
His lips linger over the side of your face, intense eyes taking in the details of your skin as he dips down to leave coveted kisses along your neck. He’s drunk off of the taste. He nibbles at the crook of your shoulder, teeth pulling at you feverishly while his free hand drifts underneath the hem of your dress.
“Who’s in control tonight?”
Your head rolls back against him when his fingers find the slick between your thighs. “I think your body speaks for the both of us.” He runs a digit across your panties, feeling the build-up of your wetness as your clothes ride up around his arm. “God, the things I do for you, Y/N.”
“People might be watching.” You accidentally rut against him, pulling at his hair in an effort to mask your growing desperation. “Bruce… this won’t look good for tabloids. I don’t wanna get you in trouble.”
“Since when did you care about the tabloids, Ms. Y/L/N?” He murmurs, following your distracted gaze out across the dance floor. “I don’t care about them, but I do care about you. Look at me, angel.” Bruce turns you in his arms, gentleness seeping in his tone. “Don’t do this to yourself. You say the word and tonight I’m yours. As long as you stay, I’m entirely yours.”
Even with heels, he’s so much taller than you — his chin practically hovers above your head, his jaw clean-shaven and tense as he awaits for your consent.
“Okay.” You whisper, stepping closer towards him as you pull his mouth down into a slow kiss. He sighs against you, makeup transferring onto his skin as you crane your body towards him with fluttering eyelids. His wandering hands take shelter below the frame of your face, holding your stare when he pulls away.
His throat bobs when you press another kiss to the corner of his lips, fighting off a moan when you stain his neck with red lipstick. “I feel indescribable things with you. Something primal. Uncontrollable, like a hunger that never goes away. And everytime you give yourself wholly to me… it’s never enough, like I need more.”
“If you’re in love with me, just say that.” You blink up at him. You purposefully search his face, cupping his cheek as you nudge your nose against his longingly. “Frankly, I love it when you get all poetic on me, but I think…” You bite his earlobe. “… your poetry sounds so much better in bed, yeah? You tellin’ me all the unholy things you wanna do to me, while I lay there — helpless for you. I bet you’d like that, Mr. Wayne, wouldn’t you?”
Bruce’s irises glisten under the flickering strobe lights, the deep ocean blue glimmering with lust.
“If I could take you right here, right now…” He pulls you by the hair, tugging your head back. His fist forms a ponytail while his other hand grabs you by the chin, “… I would.“
You question him seethingly, inches away from his face. “What’s stopping you?”
From the stuttering of your breaths, to the way you squeeze your thighs and bite your lip, Bruce can tell that you’re enjoying the dominant front he’s putting on. It wasn’t that he didn’t like taking the reins or being in control — but something about entrusting his pleasure in someone else other than himself made him extremely satisfied. He’s used to being in control; that’s what vengeance was for. But, here, even with his thumb dipping between your swollen lips and into the wetness of your mouth, Bruce knows he can let go and allow you to take care of him.
Yet tonight, he wants to take care of you — his angel, his hellfire, his sin and his miracle. Water in the middle of a desert. A reward after the fast. Divine absolution.
God has nothing to do with Bruce’s intentions.
“Let’s get out of here, yeah?” He peers down at you, running his tongue across his canines with half-lidded eyes as he pulls the digit away. He speaks before you can. “Your place. Not mine.”
“Afraid old man Alfred is gonna call me a bad influence again?” You smile at him, wiping the smudge of lipstick from his cheek.
He places a hand over the small of your back, leading you out of the dancing crowd and away from the pounding of the speakers. “More like I’m afraid he’s gonna call me a bad influence.”
You glance at him over your shoulder. “Oh? Give him my best regards, then. He’s not wrong.”
He hands the bouncer a folded Benjamin on his way out.
A mindless smirk falls upon him when you nuzzle yourself against his arm, and suddenly, he finally feels like himself. He feels comfortable, complete, and for the first night in ages, he thinks highly of himself — in fairness, what kind of man wouldn’t become even slightly egotistical when he has a beautiful girl snuggling up to him?
He shoots you a doting grin when he leads you to his car, holding the door open for you as you dip down into the low leather passenger seat.
You take a deep breath to yourself when Bruce trails around the front of the car, taking his place at the steering wheel. The entire interior mimics the shade of the night sky — a foreboding, voided black that perfectly encapsulates his aesthetic. It’s a stark contrast to the absolute adoration in his gaze as he reaches over the console to kiss you.
You missed sitting shotgun.
And you missed him more than anything, but sometimes, things are better off dead.
Bruce can’t know.
His hands are cold when they slide underneath your dress once more, bunching the material around your hips as he exposes your panties. Carefully, he maneuvers you to lean you against the door as his head bends down to litter your skin in open-mouthed kisses, sighing as he gets closer and closer to where you most need him. He’s eager to taste you, to toy with you in the same manner you do to him — to have you writhing and moaning underneath him, above him, beside him. He doesn’t care. He’ll take you in any way you want. As long as you’d let him, he’d do anything to and for you.
“Bruce…” You pull his face back up to yours, ignoring the throbbing of your core when his touch leaves your body.
“Are you okay?” Now, he’s able to understand the look in your eyes. The uncertainty, innocent insecurities and worry. You blink frantically, clearing your throat. Bruce knows the question before you can say it. He’s aware that pride can sometimes swallow you. “There’s no one else.” He brushes your hair back. “And I don’t want anyone other than you, Y/N. Even if what we have is nothing close of a relationship, you of all people know that I don’t have anyone else.”
The corners of your lips twitch into a wistful smile.
“I wish the world knew that you’re more than a Wayne.”
Bruce doesn’t hesitate. “And I wish you knew that there’s a home for you here.”
“I can’t make a home out of Gotham.” You scoff, twisting the rings on your fingers to distract yourself from his stare. “You… you have everything here and I don’t.”
He cups a hand over your knee. “You can make a home out of me.” He presses the tenderest kiss to the bulb of your nose, then to your blushing cheeks, on the arch of your cupid’s bow, and onto your sweet mouth once more.
You pull away abruptly. “Show me.” Bruce shakes his head at you, unsure as to what you mean. You caress his jaw, staring into the darkness of his lust-blown pupils as you rub circles by his temple. “Show me what will happen if I stay.”
He’s fucking obsessed.
Even as Bruce speeds across Gotham City at seventy miles per hour, he can’t keep his hands off of you. Not even when you give him that youthful grin and watch the lights pass outside the tinted window.
Even as Bruce makes out with you against the front door to your shitty apartment, nearly breaking the knob off as he pushes you inside with pent-up desire and an attraction that he just couldn’t bring himself to call love, he can’t keep his hands off of you.
If you thought that your living room was messy before he came over, it’s even messier now as he hoists you up onto a chest of drawers. He flings all objects to the side with a long swing of his arm, eyes widening when something collides loudly onto the hardwood floor.
“Bruce.”
He laughs apologetically against your mouth as he stands between your parted legs. “I’m sorry. I know. Sorry.” He looks up at you, then starts pulling your dress down your chest and tugging it past your legs. “I’ll make it up to you.” You reach for the hem of Bruce’s shirt, but he quickly grabs your wrists and pins them above your head, pressing your arched back against the peeling wallpaper as his mouth nears your ear. “But let me be in control.”
You swallow with a nod when he lets you go.
“Okay. I have an idea.” You slowly lean forward, reaching for the drawer just below your knee. There’s a familiar cloth sitting on the bottom — a dark necktie with an embroidered ‘W’ by the tip lining. Without any sort of hesitation, you press the heels of your hands together and extend your arms out in front of you, studying Bruce with innocent curiosity. “Tie me up.”
“You’re sure?”
“Yeah.” He watches you closely as he takes the necktie and wraps it around your wrists, pulling and tugging with careful force. “From what I remember, you really enjoyed yourself last time.” He binds you tightly, but not too tight for discomfort. You sigh when he plants a kiss to either of your open palms, relaxing back against the wall as he moves to unzip your boots.
“God, Y/N. You look so pretty like this.” Bruce tucks a strand of hair behind your ear, letting his fingers follow the shape of your jaw until he taps the digits against your chin. “Suck.” You open your mouth slowly, watching him intently as he slips his pointer and middle finger between your parted lips. “Tell me how it feels.”
“Feels good.” You utter, voice garbled and choked by the length of his fingers. He lets out a soft hum of approval at that. “Would feel better inside me.” His dominance falters momentarily at the brash statement, and he takes in a shaky breath. “Mm? Do you like how that sounds? You love it when I’m needy, don’t you?” A moan falls from your lips when he lodges his fingers deeper.
“Don’t be a brat.”
His digits are coated in your spit when he pulls them away from you. “You spoil me too much, Bruce. No wonder I’m a brat.” He admires the wet glistening of your saliva on his own hand, then your vision is blurred as he slaps you harshly on the cheek with it. Before you can even recover, his lips are on yours — a mixture of teeth and warm tongues and desperate gasps for air.
“Was that too rough?” He sighs into your neck as he unclasps your bra, throwing it on the floor so that it joins your discarded dress.
The stinging of your cheek is only slightly painful, but it’s a pleasurable kind of sensation for you.
“I like it when you’re rough.”
“Fuck, Y/N, of course you do.” He chuckles, taking one of your nipples into his mouth.
You card your nails through his hair, buzzing with satisfaction as he lightly kneads at your breasts. He suckles a hickey onto the fleshy skin then starts kissing down your belly, admiring the way your body arches into him as his nose brushes over the ribbon on your panties.
“Do you see how wet you make me, Mr. Wayne?” You lift your bounded wrists away from the wet patch between your thighs, fully exposing yourself to Bruce as you spread your legs even wider.
“Fucking hell.”
Bruce has never thought of sex as a sacred act.
But here with you, in the dimness of your apartment, he thinks nothing could get holier than this — than the way you look down at him like an angel from above, how your hands fold together like you’re in prayer, moans falling from your lips as if God could hear you, how he greedily pulls your panties down so that he can finally taste you.
God has nothing to do with this.
Somehow, the drawer chest beneath you is replaced with your checkered kitchen counter, cabinets rattling against your knees as Bruce bends you over against the cold surface. His large hands slowly spread you apart, to which he has to stifle a groan at how your folds are already dripping with slick for him.
You crane your neck to watch him lap at your cunt, lurching forwards with a mewling moan until he holds you in place. “Mm… fuck!”
His tongue circles over your clit, the bridge of his nose poking at your entrance as he eats you out in the middle of the kitchen.
For once, you’re thankful that the pouring rain of Gotham City is raucous enough to mask the pleas that burn through your vocal cords.
If anyone were to hear this, you’d be as good as dead.
No, it isn’t an exaggeration.
Bruce licks his lips as he examines the bruising of his fingerprints on your waist. “Tastes so sweet, Y/N. Always loved eating you out.”
You move to reach for him, only then remembering that he still has you bound with the embroidered tie.
“Bruce…” The whine of his name doesn’t capture his attention, not even when he tugs his shirt off in one smooth motion whilst staring at you the entire time. Your gaze wanders over the faded scars on his muscles, biting your lip at how wonderfully they ripple with each tiny movement. Then, he’s too caught up in the pleasure of burying his face against your cunt once more. “Untie me… wanna touch you all over.”
“No. You don’t get to tell me what to do.”
“F-Fuck, please!” You gasp out when his mouth becomes replaced by his fingers. The heel of his hand presses into the swell of your core, curled digits fucking themselves in and out of you as Bruce fixates on the sounds of your body. “Please, I’ll be so fucking good. Just let me touch you.” The brimming tears in your eyes spurs him on even further, fingers hitting that one spongy spot inside of you that edged you towards an orgasm every time. “Oh, fuck! Bruce, baby… please, right there!” You tug at the knotted necktie, legs trembling as a small rush of liquid drips between your thighs.
“Jesus, Y/N, you got me soaked.” Bruce grabs you by the neck, pulling you to stand straight as he leads you into the living room. He knows your apartment like the back of his hand. He’s done this with you too many times for him not to remember. “By the couch. On your knees.” He slaps your ass, scoffing when a faint smile tugs at your face.
Bruce is certain that this is your favorite part of all. Pleasing him. You love seeing him moan — seeing such a powerful man that people feared become nothing but a whimpering shell of a mess as he gives himself to you.
“When was the last time you got blowed?” You smirk, knees hitting the carpet as Bruce unbuttoned his pants. “Or better yet, when was the last time you fucked a girl?”
“Does it count if I didn’t cum?” He gives you a smug look.
You huff, repeating his question aloud. “Does it count? So, you did fuck someone else. Because usually when we fuck…” You bat your lashes up at him as he steps out of his boxers. The tip of his cock is a bright red, leaking with pre-cum as he throbs at the eager sight of you and pumps himself in his fist. He lifts your arms, untying the necktie between your wrists. “… you cum maybe more than once or twice.”
You’re not wrong.
But he really needs relief.
“Y/N. Open up and stop talking.” He watches how your hand immediately wraps around the base of his cock, making up for the remaining length that won’t fit in your mouth as you suction your lips around him. “Yeah, take it. There you go.” His jaw hangs ajar as you bob your head around him, spit already collecting itself in the spaces between your fingers. “Such a fucking angel, Y/N.” A ragged moan slips out from his throat. The desperate sound goes straight to your cunt, and Bruce doesn’t miss the way you rub your thighs together for friction. “Touch yourself. It’s okay.”
He holds you by your hair as you continue to suck him off and play with your clit. Even with your soft gags around his dick, he can hear how wet you still are down there.
You pull off of him to breathe, chest heaving quickly as you twist a hand up and down his length.
“Your cock is so pretty.”
Bruce nearly topples over at the statement, along with how you so suddenly take him back into your mouth with such devotion to make him cum.
“Y/N… your mouth, fuck.”
He shudders when you try to fit all of him, nose brushing against his happy trail until a gag forces itself out of you and he takes the advantage to properly fuck your throat.
You nod eagerly at him to keep going when his pace becomes a little too rough. Watery mascara rolls down your cheeks and saliva drips from your bottom lip. Your face is flush with pink, neck reddening with strain as Bruce nears his orgasm and you try to hold out.
“I’m gonna… oh, angel.” He gapes at you. His eyebrows are knitted together with self-absorbed pleasure as he continues to fuck your mouth. “Gonna cum, is that okay?” You nod furiously, making the effort to hold his stare as your gags grow louder. His hand rests on the top of your head, the other cupping your chin to hold you in place as his hips snap into you. “Mm, fuck! Oh, my god. I’m cumming, Y/N.”
You feel his release coat your tongue and the back of your throat.
Bruce pulls out, cock still hard as you swallow and show him the inside of your mouth.
Practically savored every drop.
You press open-mouthed kisses to his thighs.
“There’s my good boy.”
It’s an unspoken conversation between you two, but Bruce helps you to your feet, pecking you softly on the lips as a form of gratitude. He’s tender in comparison to how he handled you earlier. He shifts your hair to one side of your shoulder, pressing his forehead against yours as his thumb strokes your jaw.
This is his form of an ‘I love you.’
He still isn’t sure if he could call this love.
But it feels right.
It feels right when you push him onto the couch, smirking down at him as he leans back and watches you straddle his lap with intense eyes.
It feels right when you grab onto his shoulders and lower yourself onto his cock, taking him to the hilt as you share a gasp of pleasure. Bruce’s hands find your waist, fingers digging into your skin as he guides you on his length.
“God, Y/N. Your cunt is so tight.” He mumbles into your chest. His cock is filling you up, the tip brushing against your g-spot as he lets you needily roll your hips against him. “Shit, baby.”
His mouth finds yours as you bounce on top of him. He can feel your tits press against his chest, hard nipples finding friction against the softness of his skin.
“Bruce, you’re so fucking big — oh, my god.” You shake your head at him through watery eyes.
“Say you love it, angel.”
You nip at his bottom lip, a grin making its way onto your face as you gaze at him longingly. “I love your cock.” Your juices are dripping onto his thighs, squelching around him as you ride him feverishly. “I love it when you fuck me hard. Love it when I get to ride you and please you.”
Bruce doesn’t shy away, letting his moans and whimpers echo through the room as he slips in and out of your folds. His finger rubs at your clit, the extra sensation tugging you closer towards a potential orgasm as his dick stretches you out. Your back arches into him, whiny mewls rasping from your throat as he pulls your chin down to kiss you.
His grip on your waist is unwavering.
His cock makes you feel full.
Bruce takes you into his arms and lays you out onto the couch, creating a pile of pillows below your tailbone with his cock still inside you.
“Don’t cry.” He whispers against your mouth as he brings your knees up to your breasts. “If you love it so much, you shouldn’t be crying.”
“S’good is all. Feels so fucking good.” You gasp, finding a rhythm with your hips to meet his strokes. Your cunt is fluttering around him, gripping his cock as Bruce fucks you. The couch moves beneath you with each hard thrust, screeching against the floorboards. “Oh, god! Yeah, there. Please, oh my god, Bruce.”
He tilts his head back to properly look at you.
“Are you gonna cum for me, sweetheart?”
“Y-Yes, I’m gonna cum all over you.” You leave kisses along his jawline, eyelashes brushing against his cheek as you moan into his skin.
“Cum for me, angel. You can do it. I know you can.”
You quiver as you near your orgasm, knees buckling beneath you as Bruce pulls you all the way down onto his length. His embrace is crushing, the muscles on his back flexing beneath your touch while he holds you up.
A cry escapes your mouth when you clench around him.
Bruce is easily reaching his second one when you milk his cock with your own orgasm.
You fall into him with a loud exhale, a mixture of sweat and tears rolling down your neck as your heartbeat slows.
“Fuck, that was everything.” You chuckle, peppering Bruce’s face with quiet kisses as he relaxes back onto the sofa.
He shakes his head at you. “You’re everything.”
“Shut up, sap.”
Both of you share the silence, staring at each other amorously as you move to lay beside him. He uses his thumb to wipe at the spill of cum between your thighs, humming in amusement when you jolt out of sensitivity.
“So pretty, Y/N.” His eyes follow the curve of your waist, memorizing the swell of your breasts as you lean over to gaze at him and grab his hand.
“Stay for the night.” You intertwine your fingers with his.
“Oh, wow.” Bruce suddenly chuckles. “That’s a first.”
“Well, we have a lot to catch up on.”

There’s something special about Gotham in the mornings. The solitude, the bustling tourists that only found beauty in the day, the rare laughter of children playing on the sidewalks. The skies look nicer, less foreboding and less cloudy. The sun feels warmer.
People don’t need to hide away from the darkness when light is present.
There’s no need for vengeance there.
There’s no need for vengeance as Bruce kisses the top of your head, pulling you closer to his naked chest as he admires how beautiful you look even when you’re asleep. He likes this — the intimacy, basking in the presence of you. Sunlight peeks through the uneven blinds on your bedroom window, drawing shadows on your skin that Bruce finds himself tracing with his fingers.
His eyes narrow in worry when he sees a burn mark on your forearm. He brings it closer to view, unsure if what he’s seeing is real.
Not a burn mark.
A branding — a singular ‘J’.
It’s tiny, which is no wonder as to why he didn’t see it.
“Y/N…” He pipes up, breaking the silence in the air.
“Mhm?”
“Your arm.” He can feel you stiffen beneath him, muscles growing tense as you lift your head up to meet his questioning gaze. “What is this?”
“It’s…” You pull the sleeve of your jacket over it, biting your lip as you continue. “It’s something for the Hayloft. All the girls have it. No biggie.”
“J stands for?”
“Nothing.” You shrug.
It’s a lie. Bruce can see right through you. He sits up, bedsheets pooling onto his lap as he studies your lack of eye contact.
He crosses his arms over his front. “Try again.”
“Are you seriously—“
There’s a loud knock at your door. It doesn’t go away. It’s persistent and bothersome, meant to be answered. You and Bruce exchange a look. “You’re staying here,” He gets out of bed, slipping on a shirt as he makes his way towards your living room.
The evidence of last night’s events are still apparent.
He doesn’t care for that right now.
“Bruce, don’t.”
The hallway is empty.
Except for the bouquet of daisies on the faded welcome mat outside. There’s an unmistakable purple envelope wedged between the stems of the flowers, and Bruce picks it up carefully with wary hands.
“Who’s Mister J?”
He turns to you, perplexed.
You stand unsure by the doorway to your bedroom, rubbing at the branded skin on your arm with sudden resignation.
“Just a regular who stops by the lounge.”
Maybe Bruce is wrong.
Maybe you aren’t such an angel after all.
How could love and vengeance go hand and hand?

Tsukishima Kei:
Tumblr media
As children you guys were inseperable, your houses literally being on the other side of the street. The age difference between you never mattered when you guys were playing around.
You were as old as his brother and therefore you often came over to meet with hum, but Tsukki would always end up joining, especially after his brother started playing volleyball, you would always join in with Tsukishima.
Everything was great for a while, you would come over practically every day or they would visit you and then you would spend the rest of the day chilling and playing, until you and Akiteru got into Middle School and puberty hit you. Due to your age you were always a bit taller than Kei, but you grew even more.
Kei always had a crush on you, you being the only girl he only ever hung out with. You always talked to him about Dinosaurs or volleyball or music and he thought - since you shared most of his interests - why not propose? It made sense to 8 year old Kei. “Y/N... Would you marry me?”
You started to laugh and poor Kei got very confused. He was being serious about this. You saw his kinda shattered expression and froze, looking at him with a grin. You pet his head and said: “If you ever grow taller than me, then yes.”
And so the years passed, and gradually you spent less time with the Tsukishimas. You found a bunch of new friends in school that you regularly hung out with, and even though you still saw Akiteru in school and talked to him, walked home with him... You barely ever saw Kei. He seemed to grow a little more distant, he didn’t come to family gatherings anymore and rather just hung around in his room, listening to music. But frankly, you actually didn’t notice.
So eventually you graduate High School and live your life, though sometimes you still meet up with Akiteru to chat. And one day, he tells you about his younger brother. “Kei joined the volleyball club I was part of, remember? Little giant and all? Yeah, of course you do. And guess what - they actually made it to nationals! The first time since then!”
You are very surprised to hear this, though you’re glad and happy for Kei. What Akiteru suggests next though comes as a surprise to you. “I have plans for watching them as least once in Tokyo, wanna join?” And even though you haven’t seen Kei or spoken to him in quite some time, you say yes. And that’s how you end up in the Tokyo gym, swarmed by tall teenage boys and hundreds of guests. Akiteru drags you along with him through the crowd of people, determined to greet his younger brother before the game. And honestly? You feel a little excited to see Kei again, to see how he’s grown since his childhood.
You finally find the boys standing in front of a huge door that clearly leads to the inside of the gym. At first you don’t even notice, but when Akiteru calls his name a very tall, blonde boy turns around, looking startled. You’re a bit shocked to look into the face of the now 16 year old boy. He’s clearly grown since then.
Kei looks at his brother for a minute before his glance wanders over to the person he’s brought along - you. Suddenly his eyes widen a bit and his heart stops for a minute. He swears his entire life was flashing in front of his eyes - well, at least the part of his life he shared with you. All the moments you guys played as kids, runned around the backyard, talked, laughed... And now you were here? So many years after this?
“Y/N what are... what are you doing here?” The words tumble out of his mouth uncontrollably and theres a slight tint of pink appearing on his cheeks. “Ya, what’s that? Is Tsukishima flustered?” One of his team members come up beside him. He has a shaved head and tries to casually rest his elbow on Kei’s shoulder, but he fails. You notice how tall he has gotten - clearly taller than you. You have to laugh but also feel you skin heat up when you remember his question and your promise from 8 years ago.
“Why are you laughing now?” Kei seems a little helpless and confused, just like back then. It almost makes you laugh even harder. Does he even remember it? You softly place your hand on his arm, looking up into his face. His eyebrows are raised, they surpassed the lines of his glasses. “Kei...” you begin, but when you see how curious his brother and his members look at you, you lower your voice. “Remember when we were children... One day you asked me a very peculiar question and I answered with a promise.”
His head shoots up immediately and you see blood flushing his cheeks and ears in a violent red. His expression seems more than shocked and for a second he even chokes on his own breath. You grin, leaving him like that. “Rock the game, yeah? I don’t want to have travelled this far just to see you fail in the first round.” Kei is still frozen in the spot, though in the game hsi brother tells you how he seems even more focused and determined than before.
You may have teased Kei right there, but from then on you began hanging out with the Tsukishimas more, visiting them as often as you could when your career didn’t take over your life. And maybe, eventually, Kei asks you out after his graduation and this time you take it seriously and don’t make another promise.
Sakusa Kiyoomi:
Tumblr media
As children your grew up in the same neighbourhood and your parents would always take you to the same playground.
You noticed the young boy immediately - every now and then between playing in the sand he would go to his mother and she would clean his hands thoroughly with wipes and sanitizer. That got you interested very quickly. So you just walked over and sat down next to him and his mom, watching as they would repeat the same procedure over and over again, until you eventually ask: “Why are you doing this?”
And this little boy just looks up at you and starts explaining how he doesn’t like dirt and why you, too, should clean your hands like this. So you try and after you do, the boy drags you along across the yard saying how other kids don’t like playing with him because of his habits. You’re a bit taken aback by this - even though you’re older, you’re still gonna be friends with this younger boy. He’s like 6 or 7 at that time and from then on you met him on the playground almost every day. And every day, you’d go to his mom to clean your hands properly and then go play with “Omi-chan”, as you called him.
And Sakusa would honestly admire you, treasuring you as his closest friend. Even though he was younger and smaller than you, you accepted him and his habits and you still liked being around him. “Y/N... Will you marry me someday?” he bursts out one day, his big dark eyes looking up at you. And you take a second to look at his cute face - his round eyes, the curly hair, the snub nose, his soft cheeks. You grin and your hand moves from the top of his head to yours. “Maybe when you’ll grow taller than me.”
And so time went on, until you got to Middle School and then High School. You grew closer and when you were older you stopped hanging out at the playground and rather met at your houses, the only safe and clean places he trusts. You even adopt some of his habits, like cleaning your hands etc. You make it a whole ceremony to clean your rooms together before hanging out.
And even after you got into college you’d still find time for him. Calling him every now and then, watching some of his games and meeting up with him whenever you were home. And of course you notice him growing up, too. The way his hair grows a bit longer and hangs into his face, his sharper jawline, the shape of his eyes. And - his height. When he was 15 he finally surpassed your height, but you both had forgotten about your little conversation at this point.
Until your mom hosts a garden party and his family is invited, too. They make you both take a photo together and when Sakusas mom looks at it, she suddenly remembers and hands her son an older camera, a video waiting to be played on the screen. You both exchange a confused look before you press play and you see the two of you as children, thoroughly cleaning your hands, the playground in the background. Sakusa looks up at you and says “Will you marry me some day?” and that’s when Sakusa stops the video, his eyes a little widened and the tips of his ears painted in vibrant red. At first you’re a little confused, as you wanted to see what you responded to his question back then, but when you look at your friend you suddenly realize and giggle.
Sakusa thinks he’s about to sink into the ground because of embarrassement. He never thought about his feelings for you as a crush since he didn’t know better. He always thought all friends act and feel like this and over the years, as he realized he was actually in love with you, he couldn’t picture himself with someone else. You were so considerate, so accepting. Never once in your life did you think of him as weird, you never disrespected him or made fun of him. And after all, you were always the one accompanying him to events and he did the same for you. And when he looked at you now - all grown up, confident, pretty, your curious eyes scanning his face - he thought about how he was never brave enough to admit his feelings for you. Not like this. And certainly not in front of you.
“Y/N... I know this might come across as weird now, because we’ve known each other for so long, and I know you’re and adult now and I barely just graduated High School but... I want to show you that I’m not that little boy from the video anymore.” He gulps when he looks at your face, your eyes still looking at his, a slight smile on your lips.
You sigh and place your hands flatly on his jacket, over his chest. “But Omi-chan... I already now that. Although if that was your way of asking me out on a date, then take this as a yes.”
Miya Osamu:
Tumblr media
Your mom worked as freetime volleyball coach/trainer for children and sometimes you would accompany her, wanting to see what she was doing and also seeing a chance in getting to know new friends
So you’re casually in the small gym, watching as all the younger children throw around balls, laughing and chasing each other. You’re distracted, so you don’t see the ball flying straight into your face, causing you to stumble and fall. When you look back up, there’s a boy about 5 or 6 looking into your face, a curious expression on his face rather than a worried one. “Did that hurt?” He looks back up, his face turned to someone you can’t see. “Tsumu, I told you not to punch the ball like that!” What follows is a sequence of words you don’t understand, coming from the other end of the gym. You stand up on your own and follow his gaze. You rub your eyes as you see another boy standing there, looking just like the one next to you. A little irritated you look in between them a few times, before the one next to you dryly says: “That’s my twin brother, Atsumu. I’m Osamu by the way... And I’m sorry about the ball.” He points at your face, that frankly hurt a bit, it felt hot and will probably get red in the next minutes. Osamu turns to his brother again. “It was simply because my brother can’t handle the ball well!”, he shouts and his brother sticks out his tongue for it.
And so it began and you would join your mom more often from then on, watching the twins play volleyball and develop over time. They would always come up to you and ask who did better, who improved more etc... You were older than them after all, they trusted your judgement.
You would grow particularly fond of Osamu, since he was the one who seemed to care more for you, he was nicer to you and always come up to you in between practice sessions. At first he only asked about volleyball, if you play too or why not and so on, but when you came often he’d get more interested in you. And he was barely in Primary School, you were the only girl he knew closer and you were so... mature to him. He developed a cute little childhood crush on you. “Y/N, we should marry.”, he states one day. For a moment you’re a little surprised, but you laugh and squish his cheeks. “Maybe when you grow taller than me, Samu-chan~” you tease him.
And so it would go on for a while, years even. Throughout his Primary School years he’d always come to your moms little practice sessions together with his brother and at least one time a month you would hear the same question. “Will you marry me, Y/N?” and you would always answer the same. “If you ever grow taller than me, yes.” His brother very quickly notice his brothers behaviour and tease him. Sometime later, they were already in Middle School then, it’s Atsumu who approaches you. Of course you don’t notice, since they had the same hair back then. He even styled it like his brother, so there was no difference. Atsumu thought maybe, since he was a bit flirtier, he could settle something for his beloved twin. But he gets caught mid act and Osamu is furious. Let’s say this might or might not be the final reason why they color their hair different colors.
Over the years however, even though Osamus crush on you stays, he doesn’t ask you the question anymore. During puberty he gets way too embarrassed over all his past actions towards you, especially since you were older. You literally had a boyfriend, and yet his 11 year old self still asked. His toe nails were starting to curl just when he thought about it.
He never forgets, though. But even when he does eventually grow taller than you in his first year in High School, he still doesn’t say a thing. Of course he doesn’t, you’re in college at that point and probably already made out with so many guys... His blood was boiling just thinking of it, even though he knew he was being unreasonable and childish.
On the twins 18th birthday, they throw a big party. And of course you’re invited, you’re basically their oldest friend and have followed their “career” since the beginning. Both the twins are stupid drunk in no time and you sit down with Osamu after a wild round of beer pong. He’s completely out of it, his words almost incoherent but they still make sense. You literally heave him onto the couch and sit down next to him, still laughing. For a moment it’s just the two of you, him a lot more drunk than you, the music blaring in the background, lost in your thoughts. Until Osamu speaks up, the alcohol getting the best of him.
“You know how... When we were children... Well no, when I was a child... I’d always ask you stupid questions??” he goes, one index finger raised as he explains. The alcohol in your blood and getting to your brain makes you laugh at it. He still looks at you expectantly though, like he’s waiting for your answer. So you nod. “You always asked me if we would marry one day. Like... A lot. 10 times a year or so.” He nods exaggerated. “Yessss, and you’d always, ALWAYS, say, that you’d do it when... When I get taller than you.” That’s when he pushes himself up from the couch with big effort and looks at you, a dark expression on his face. He stays like that for a while, his face neutral but his eyes determined. Until he literally falls on top of you, the alcohol making him stumble around. You giggle, and Osamu apologizes a hundred times, though he likes the feeling of your arms magically wrapping around him. It’s like a reflex of yours, you couldn’t stop yourself. “You alright?”, you ask quietly. Your faces are barely inches away from each other and he still has this certain look in his eyes, that almost makes you shiver. You always thought of Osamu as a younger brother, but ever since he got into High School and he grew taller and muscular, but also his demeanor maturing, you sometimes caught your mind wandering off... Like now. He makes a vague face before he just leans in and presses his lips to yours, capturing them in a really sloppy drunk kiss. But it’s fine, you both enjoy it. When he leans back, a smug smile traces lips. “Now I’m alright. More than that, even.”
You drunkenly make out for quite some time that night, Atsumu filming some of that in the same state as you, just so he can show his brother what he accomplished. Eventually you both pass out on the couch and when you wake up it’s a little awkward at first, until you nudge him and say that you’ll give him a chance, now that he was an adult and taller than you.

Third person pov
"Guess we will have to kill him then huh?" Suna said with a sadistic laugh as the other two smirked at one another.
Shirabu grabbed a marker as he stepped up to the man.
“What the hell are you doing?” The man in the chair panicked. Shibaru began to place dotted lines around certain places.
“Don’t do any damage here please.” He said.
“Are you selling his organs?” Y/n whispered loud enough just for the other monsters to hear.
“Yep, if they are decent, why not?” He said as he walked out of the room to look for more tools.
Y/n sat back and watched Suna slam the hammer down along the man’s hand and arm.
Meanwhile…
Tendou, Matsukawa, Kyotani and Terushima were all still out checking local bars for the scumbags. They were just about to head into another club as Tendou’s phone rang.
“Paradise? Everything okay?” He asked as he answered. The others could not hear what she said on her side of the phone.
“A cop?” He asked back. “Alright Paradise, I will give Maki a call.” With that he hung up.
“Why doesn’t Y/n just go talk to him?” Terushima asked.
“I guess they are heading out. They removed the guy's kidneys and liver I guess.”
“And they are doing what now?”
“Going to sell it. Shirabu knows a guy from the pharmacy.” He shrugged as he rang Maki.
“Maki here what’s up boss?” The others could hear as Tendou placed him on speaker.
“Is Kenma up?”
“He’s already on his computer. He said he is looking for something.”
“Ask him about Sawamura.”
“Hey Ken-” Tendou heard the phone being ripped from Hanamaki’s hand.
“1673 tokoyomi st south.” Kenma said into the phone.
“What?” Tendou asked.
“1673 tokoyomi st south.” Kenma repeated.
“Okay guess we will go there.” Kenma hung up after hearing Tendou say that. Kenma text the address from Hanamaki’s phone.
Kenma turned off his computer glancing up at Hanamaki.
“If the other three come back tell them I went to the guest room. Don’t follow me.” He said to Hanamaki.
Hanamaki watched him walk down the distant hall confused.
Back at Tendou’s group, they were now on their bikes riding to the address Kenma had supplied them.
They arrived quickly as they got off their bikes.
“Dude it’s a fucking cop bar.” Matsukawa said as they looked at the parked cruisers.
“No fucking way are we going in there.” Terushima said.
“Well you fucks aren’t. You are all covered in blood.” Tendou said.
“What the fuck we going to do? Wait for this fucker to come out?” Matsukawa asked.
“Fuck that!” Kyotani said as he reached into the seat of his bike and grabbed out a crow bar. “Move your shit over there and get him when he comes out.” Kyotani said.
The other three drove their bikes and pulled up into a driveway no one was in. Kyotani hopped on his bike and started screaming as he swung his crow bar at the glass of the cars. The alarms all started one after another as the cops began to pile out. Kyotani sped through them and power slammed the one in the shin.
“JUST TRY AND GET ME YOU FUCKS!” He yelled as he drove off.
The guy on the ground told the others to go as he tried to stand up. The 6 police cars from the lot were off chasing Kyotani away. The other three drove over and hopped off their bikes by the officer on the ground.
“Are you Sawamura?” Terushima asked.
“Who’s asking?” He said as he looked up. “Oh fuck.” He said noticing now it was his old high school peers.
“A better question is why the fuck do you know so much about us and why the fuck are you ratting on us you fuck!” Matsukawa said as he kicked him.
“Please I will tell you what I know.” He said coughing.
“What’s the catch?” Tendou asked.
“You let me leave after we are done.” Tendou looked at the other two and then back to him.
“If I think you are lying our words dead. So you better tell us the whole fucking truth asshat.” Tendou said. Daichi nodded in agreement. “So why the fuck you send a hit after our member?”
“I was paid by someone. They gave me $50,000 to give a group of guys information. I took it selfishly and I knew you from high school. I know the Suna guy from my friend who goes to school with him so Kenma was the easiest target.”
“Who paid you to tell those guys?” Terushima asked him.
“I don’t know, they wired me the money and texted me.”
“Give us the names and faces on the guys or even the location of the ones involved in the hit, and we will let you live.” Tendou said. Daichi pulled out his phone and wrote down their leader's number and handed it over to them. He didn’t say anything else as the others now heard sirens off in the distance.
“You fucking dirty cop! You called the cops on us!” Matsukawa yelled as he kicked him again. Daichi coughed a bunch as the three hopped on their bikes and sped off down the side street nearby.
A silver Toyota pulled up with a fake siren on the dash. The siren was turned off and pulled off the dash as Daichi pulled himself up inside the car.
“Fuck dude, I could have died. What took you so long?” Daichi said to the driver.
“Just had to tie up some loose ends with the boss. He was pretty amazed we knew them.”
“Did you tell him how they took you to a park and beat the shit out of you after hijacking your date all those years ago Suga?”
“Nah, I used to be a scared coward of those fucks, but now we are just as dangerous. It should be them who fears us and not the other way. They will be once we complete our plan.” He said with a laugh.
“I’m not sure how you expect one of them to turn and spill shit man. They have been tight since highschool and the new members are just as fucked as the others.” Daichi said as Sugawara began to drive.
“Don’t worry, I already have gotten one of them too.”

A3! Act 3 Episode 9 Summary
Please read through this note before you start reading the summary!
whhhhew, finally finished episode 9 and THE EMOTIONS ARE ROLLING-😭😭
but ofc being the maniac that i am ive decided to provide a full summary of episode 9 for those who are interested!
Be warned that this is MAJOR STORY SPOILERS so i would recommend you be at least finished act 2 and all the events leading up to it before you read this. Otherwise you’ll probably have a hard time understanding the full context of things.
The last note I want to make is that this won’t be a detail-for-detail summary! I still want to keep things decently vague so people can still have the joy of experiencing the story for themselves while still providing adequate information to clear up any confusions and speculations. This summary will basically be a rough outline of the story that highlights some of the major events that went on. This summary will follow the order of how the episode played out, all the events will be listed in order.
Ofc, if anybody has any specific questions regarding the story that they want clarified or just simply want to discuss episode 9: always feel free to shoot in an ask or dm me! I’m always happy to provide with information and/or rant about these precious boys!
Well, without further ado, here y’all go~~
WARNING: EXTREMELY LONG POST AND MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD~
the new groups of people now are the following:
High schoolers- Yuki/Muku/Azami/Kumon
Yosei University- Juza/Tsuzuru/Tenma/Taichi
Amabi- Kazunari/Banri
Adult group is still adult group~~
Apparently Tenma’s parents decided it would be a good idea to let him attend university so it was decided on the spot that he would be going through exams. He had to get Chikage to tutor to barely scrape by passing bc of how busy he was. Taichi on the other hand....Tsumugi the GOAT-
Omi now works as a professional photographer through a job his friend introduced him to.
Masumi decided to go to Fuyou University which is Tasuku and Tsumugi’s old university to study. Misumi’s brother, Madoka, also studies there. Although Madoka does not look like it, he’s actually 19... I know...
Azami decided to attend the same high school as Kumon which warms my heart honestly bc it just showed how good of friends they’ve become <3~~ Here’s his new uniform look <333
not sure how i feel about the red hoodie but eh, boy can pull it off so it doesn’t matter aha~
Tumblr media
Guy is apparently opening up a new Zahra style bar with the help of the winter troupe members such as Homare who introduced him to an interior design company (same company that installed that brick wall in his room orz). Hisoka will also be helping out in Guy’s bar.
The entirety of Reni’s backstory (5 episodes in total) which describe his initial meeting with Yukio during high school to how they built Mankai together was described through the format of portraits (the autumn troupe signature). HIs backstories are basically just narrations of Act 3 1/2 if any of you read that when it was first posted.
Reni’s real name is apparently “Kamikizaka Reiji” and “Reni” is a nickname that Yukio gave him in high school bc Yukio thought that his real name was too hard to write out in kanji and pronounce lolol.
Reni keeps a journal which documents his time with Yukio (basically Act 3 1/2) in a safe in his office.
Kasumi’s nickname back in the day was apparently “Juriko”: stems from “Juliette” and “ko” which is a way to feminize someone’s name in Japanese. This was because he was the crossdresser that had to play Juliette in the OG spring troupe RomiJuri- heh.
Shifuto is now the new “top” in GOD Troupe after Tasuku and Haruto who got demoted.
FRIEND ANGST BETWEEN AZAMI AND SHIFUTO HNGHHH and that’s all I’m willing to say oop-
GOD Troupe challenged Mankai to an act-off once again and this time appointed Tsumugi as the lead and Tasuku to be in the play and the theme as “devil” and thus...Devil Tsumugi was born.
The company was initially debating on whether to accept the challenge or not but Tsumugi and Taichi desperately wanted to show Reni who they have become as an actor and prove him wrong on all the things he’s said to them. Basically, everyone who was casted for this play had their own reasons on why they wanted to act.
Misumi’s dad’s name is revealed to be “Kusumi” which literally means nine-points/sides and I- top 10 betrayals? I was certain that his name will have something to do with a square but apparently not-
Although it was briefly revealed during Sky Pirates, Misumi’s dad is the official script writer for GOD Troupe. However, it is shown here that he has absolutely no talent in writing so what he does is get Madoka to act as his ghostwriter and write for him.
Hence this birthed Madoka’s complex of wanting to write in his own free will and not under the control of his father. Since everything he writes gets “edited” by his father but everything his father edited gets rejected by Reni and so Madoka has to fix it himself anyways.
Returning to backstory, Reni revealed that Yukio legit went to visit Misumi’s grandpa (Hakkaku) as a senior high school student to ask him for a script. As a note, Hakkaku was already a very famous script writer at that time and age wise he is about what both their dads would be. Ofc he was refused many times but Yukio wouldn’t give up and would not stop pestering Hakkaku until he finally caved in.
Honestly I loved the autumn and winter troupe dynamic throughout this entire episode- just the way they supported Taichi and Tsumugi is just-
Kumon had to act as the mediator between Azami and Shifuto to try and recover their friendship and the entire process was hilarious.
Yukio and Reni were actually Yuzo and Kasumi’s high school seniors at Nanakusa High. Yuzo was the “ghost member” that was only member of drama club in-name only that was mentioned earlier.
NAMIKAWA DAISUKE’S VOICE IN KASUMI- *deaded counter x1* as a tiny side note: i realized half way through that Tezuka (Reni), Sanada (Yuzo), and Ootori (Kasumi) were in the same high school together bc of their seiyuus. This is for my TeniPuri fans out there haha~~
During their last performance in high school, Yukio and Reni got boycotted by the other junior members right before their play. Reni ended up forcing a reluctant Yukio to go at speak act out the monologue Hakkaku provided for them and everybody ended up being overwhelmed by Yukio’s performance.
This is what ended up making Reni dedicate his post high school life creating Mankai with Yukio, he wants to see Yukio act on stage again. He describes Yukio’s acting as “someone who was chosen by God” and even went as far as using his own money his parents gave him when they kicked him out (strict family bs) to build the initial theatre while they both worked part-time. Reni was the one who designed the entire theatre according to Yukio’s wishes to “make it long lasting”. However, Yukio revealed to him that he has no desire to stand on stage again and instead wants to make others “full bloom”, this invoked a sense of betrayal in Reni.
Reni was also the one who recruited Syu, his childhood friend, into the theatre. From there on, Yuzo and Kasumi also joined. Kasumi was revealed to also be garbage at acting at first but Yukio appointed him as lead for their first play nonetheless.
There is apparently some outside force wanting to ruin Mankai as they even went as far as stealing a part of Tsuzuru’s script and provided it to Misumi’s dad who ended up plagiarizing. It is later revealed that Reni had nothing to do with this so it is currently unknown who the main perpetrator is.
In order to get a better grasp on his devil character, Tsumugi opted to spend one day with each of the other winter troupe members (Homare, Hisoka, and Azuma) individually. This is to get more insight from people who had lived such different lives and accumulated such different experiences. Honestly, one of the most heartwarming moments ever.
Tumblr media
MY ANGST MAN IS HERE WITH HIS FIRST APPEARANCE!!! SAKURAI TAKAHIRO’S VOICE OMGGGGG *deaded counter x2*
He met Tsumugi in front of the GOD Theatre and asked him to “save” Reni.
On the day of the performance, Tsumugi and Taichi decided to walk to the theatre. They met Banri and Juza along the way who were planning to do a street act to release some energy. On their way, they ended up being surrounded by numerous punks who were presumably sent by the same outside force who stole Tsuzuru’s script.
The night before the actual performance, the plagiarism was revealed to both sides and both sides were just as much caught off guard by this. Reni, however, refused to change the direction of the play since it was too risky as the performance is the next day. However, Shifuto refused to act out something that is plagiarized since he promised Azami that they would have a “fair fight like men”.
And so, he managed to convince Haruto to use Madoka’s script that he has written for the first time according to free will and changed the entire play in one night. With the help of Haruto’s authority, they managed to do it in time. (I’ve failed to mention this until now but these three has been building up chemistry all through out this episode and im so down for them tbh)
Banri told Juza to take Tsumugi and Taichi and go ahead while he stays behind to try and buy some time alone against all the men. Just when Banri was in a tight spot due to power in number...
Tumblr media
BAM THIS OLD MAN COMES IN AND SAVES THE DAY!! by now y’all already know... YASUMOTO HIROKI’S VOICE HAAAAAAAAAH *deaded counter x3*
After Banri revealed to Zen that he was autumn troupe leader of Mankai, Zen gave him a card of his restaurant, “Gentiana” and promised to treat them to a meal there afterwards.
Tumblr media
Costume reveal for GOD Troupe. Honestly, I love the chemistry that was built throughout this episode between Shifuto, Haruto, and Madoka. Haruto really did give out redeeming qualities and i don’t dislike him as much as before aha (even tho he is still a snob) and I acknowledge him as a character. Madoka’s script consisted of two characters and basically talks about two estranged brothers (his way of writing down his guilt for towards Misumi)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Costume reveal for Mankai as many of you probably have seen already- devil tsumugi and sexy tasuku is just-
In terms of actual in-game plays, this was the second play that I’ve actually cried at, the first being Clockwork. Super emotional and well-written play and certainly it draws a lot of parallels to Sympathy for the Angel.
Tumblr media
SAME RENI...JUST-SAME. TT
After the performances...i won’t reveal who won and by how much but Reni did officially apologize for all his past actions as he was reminded of his passion for acting through this play. Izumi thought this too but it is hard to 100% forgive him bc of the pain he’s brought on all the members.
He revealed why he quit Mankai, it was bc he and Yukio had become so divided that if he had stayed, the entire balance of Mankai would fall to ruins. He actually came to the conclusion to leave after being trapped in the time loop with Yukio for about three days aha~
Reni decided to create GOD Troupe bc he wanted them to win the Fleur Awards first and crush Mankai, that way, he may have the chance one day to accepted a lost Yukio in his troupe as an actor and not a director (obsessed much my dude??)
The last part of the episode is Reni wanting to talk to Izumi about the Ikaruga family and being invited to Mankai Dorms as a result. There he reminisced the days with the OGs before we are left with a cliffhanger-
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even though he only talked for two lines but ONO DAISUUUUKE~~~ *deaded counter x4*
The very last scenes showcased how the OGs are starting to come back together as they will be getting involved with the new Mankai members.
Tumblr media
THIS OLD MAN LEGIT WENT AND HELPED THEM PICK CABBAGE I-
Tumblr media
LOOK AT THIS EXPRESSION HE IS SO PRECIOUS-
~❀❀❀~
that concludes the rough summary of episode 9! i...this was an ordeal to get through aha and sorry for it ended up being such a long post...It was inevitable bc this episode consisted of 39 chapters.
Honestly im so dead by the end of this that i didnt have the heart to check for any grammar mistakes so there’re probably quite a few that i ask you kindly to just ignore~ 🥺🥺
now, time to dig a hole and cry until episode 10 comes out...☠️😇😭

Jaskier x Reader part 5
[PART 1]  [PART 2]   [PART 3]  [PART 4]
Summary: This is an AU, where Y/N is a young woman, trying to make ends meet with her freelancing writing job. She lives in her small Nottingham studio apartment along with her cat Apollo. Things change when one evening as she is waiting for her taxi, she meets what she thinks is Joey Batey, but the man in front of her is convinced he’s Jaskier, a character from her current favorite show. Y/N now has to figure out what to do.
Warnings: drinking and just some cheesy cheese
Word count: 2,637
A/N: Ahhh you guys, thank you for liking this story and encouraging me to write it, i sooo expected this to be a flop, and i really appreciate the [so far] positive feedback ahhh! we writers do fuel on comments sometimes, lol, so whenever you lot say you like it i go so soft and THANK YOU hope you like this part <333
Jaskier doesn’t look at me, keeping his gaze at his arms. I see him try to blink the tears away, but he fails, as some escape, washing down his face. I reach out, putting my hand on his.
“I’m sorry.” I whisper, not wanting to disturb him. He wipes his face with his free hand, looking at me.
“It’s accurate.” His voice sounds rough and deep. I squeeze his hand. “Like, really accurate.”
“It must be scary.” He hangs his head low.
“It is, Y/N. But at the same time…” Jaskier now leans back on the coach, closing his eyes. His lashes now cast shadows down his face, making him appear so much older. “I am glad that it is, at the very least, correct. Not some fake story, just using our names and faces. It’s real.”
“I cant even imagine what you’re feeling. What must be going through your head.” I whisper as he opens his eyes, gazing at me. “But I want you to know I am here to help you, in any way I possibly can.”
“I have no doubts about that.” He reassures me, brushing hair out of his face, taking a deep breath in. “It’s scary, but it made me upset because… I miss it. I miss Geralt and Roach and I miss Velen and Novigrad.”
“You’re homesick.” He nods. “I promise we will get you home, we will figure it out. Something, somehow.”
“Thank you.” He offers me a smile, and I stare into his eyes, wondering just how much they have seen. How much of a different world, so far away? I wish I could experience that. With him. But then I also know, I belong here and he truly belongs there.
“Until then, Jaskier, maybe I should allow you to experience more of my world.” I say, taking laptop on my knees, exiting Netflix.
“I would be recognized as the guy who plays me, unless I can experience it from your home.” I shake my head.
“I should have thought of it sooner, if I am honest.” I sigh, turning laptop to him. “We have wigs. And some people wear cute little masks as fashion. We could pretend you are one of them, get a wig, and boom. You’re a different person, free to roam the world. We could go to eat out or an amusement park or clubbing or…-“
“Is it a date?” He cuts me off, immediately sending a blush to my face.
“Sure.” I stutter as he giggles, and my heart eases up a little.
So I order a wig. A blond one, spend good pounds on it. And a mask. And just more outfits. They should arrive here by tomorrow. I leave the shop, not wanting to know what my bank balance is looking like.
Then I open some more tabs. I begin grilling Jaskier, trying to distract him. I ask where he would want to go eat, if he even wants to go ride some rollercoasters. He agrees to it all, as his eyes lighten up and his shoulders relax. My hear beats faster.
The next day when items arrive, he tries them on, and while the wig is not the best, you cant really recognize him. So that same evening, I decide it’s time we go to a pub, something he is almost familiar with. We’re walking from the taxi, towards the pub just out of town, as I begin explaining it to him.
“It is similar to a tavern, in my opinion at least.” I say, as he nods. “You can go there, order some food, drinks, whatever really, just a place to hang out.”
“Sounds cool.” He says, not sounding impressed and I grin at him.
We make it inside, as the warmth surrounds us. I hear some pop music play, wondering what Jask will think about that. I guide us to a further corner, a table behind a pillar. I know some waitresses call it a “lovers nest” and that sheer name makes my heart skip a beat. Sadly, we are using it for coverage mostly.
We sit down, Jaskier’s back facing the pub, as a waitress gives us our menus, giving a weird glance to the bard, but not commenting on his outfit.
I forced him to wear a simple white shirt with a oversized colourful jacket. It had patterns of marvel superheroes, which I thought was cool, but he said wearing “green goblin” on his ass wasn’t his cup of tea.
“You can take your mask off.” I encourage Jaskier now, as he practically rips it off. Underneath, I see a smile.
“This is nice.” I hm in agreement, looking at the menu.
“We can start with drinks.” I say, turning it around to the drinks side. “Unless you’re hungry.”
“No, I’m okay on food.” I smirk, twisting his menu too.
“Then let’s drink.” He seems to like that.
We order some cocktails, although Jaskier insisted of good old ale. And some shots of different spirits. The waitress brings it, wishing us a good night, and I know she probably wont bother us much. Unwritten rule for lovers nest.
So we drink up, talking about everything and nothing. I tell him about how I find Apollo on the streets, poor boy was bones and skin, full of lice and worms in his belly. Costed me a lot, but I was determined to take care of him. He tells me about the time before he met Geralt, how he learnt to play the lute by himself.
“I would wonder the fields, singing my heart out. I wasn’t very good then.” He laughs, looking into the distance with a nostalgic look growing on his face.
“How come?” I ask, sipping my Mojito, which Jaskier didn’t like.
“The wolves would run away, whenever they would hear me.” I chuckle, and his gaze comes back, landing on me, as his lips curl into a smile. “But I learnt.”
“I know.” I say, as he grows silent. He hasn’t sung since we met. “You should, however, prove it some time.”
“Hm.” He smirks.
I almost don’t hear it, in a faintest voice, Jaskier begins to sing. In a language I don’t understand. I don’t know if he spoke one of the elder languages, if it was elven or something, but it sounded beautiful. So sad, however.
My gaze seemed to encourage him, as his voice grew ever so braver. He didn’t take his eyes off me, as if to make sure I was listening. I wouldn’t dare to do anything else. Then, as sudden as it began, it stopped.
“That was beautiful.” I say as the light above our table flickers. “Even if I understood nothing.”
“Not mine song. One of the elves I’ve met on a road taught me.” My curiosity grows as I lean in.
“What is it about?” That makes Jaskier blush, as he winks at me.
“I’ll tell you another time.” I lean back now, crossing my arms.
“Not fair.” I argue, but he doesn’t budge.
“I promise, you will learn someday. Just, not today.” I roll my eyes, easing up however, as I reach back for my mojito.
“Oh! I love this song!” I say as a slightly louder one comes on. It’s Ed Sheeran’s ‘Thinking Out Loud’
I spring to my feet, drink still at hand, as I dance to the rhythm, twirling and twisting around, not caring if I look graceful or anything. I was feeling the moment. I sing along to it, not being anxious if I sound bad. The wonders of alcohol.
I finally make eye contact with Jaskier, who seems to be mesmerized. I reach out to him, pulling him up just as the lyrics hit ‘Maybe just a touch of a hand’. I keep singing, making him dance with me. He kind of doesn’t move, his lips slightly apart, eyes wide open.
I take step back, to sing the chorus and I twirl around him, smiling. I keep singing, now mostly just waving my body side to side, looking at the bard in front of me. The whole pub seems to disappear, nothing else matters. Just me and him, in his stupid wig.
Just us, in this world. Scared and confused. Lost. Not sure of what tomorrow may bring. But for now, we were in this together, and in this very moment, I counted all of my blessings. The biggest one stood before my very own eyes. His lips still parted, his gaze still on me.
My chest tightened as the song was nearing the end and I walked towards him. Just to make sure he is real, truly here. And he was, as his hands land on my waist and he finally swings with me, as I silence my signing to a mere whisper, placing my forehead on his shoulder. Breathing him in, storing the scent in my brain. I memorize the way his hands lay, engraving it in my body, so I could remember it when he is not there to remind me.
I touched him. I smelled him. And now.
I pull away, and before I can change my mind, before worry and anxiety come over me, I place my lips on his. My eyes are shut, as I am scared to open them, even when we pull apart.
Now I tasted him too. The pina colada he just drank was still on his lips. Coconut and a mix of alcohol. But there was something else, something I couldn’t point out. I guess it was just the way his kiss tastes.
“You can open your eyes.” I hear hip whisper, as the song ends. I jump a little, opening my eyes. He gazes into me.
“Sorry.” I stutter, stepping back, as his grip loosens and I slide out of his arms.
“For what?” He furrows his brows, and I feel heat rush to my face.
“I crossed the line?” I say, and it sounds more like a question than a statement.
“Oh, Y/N.” He lets out a laugh, as it eases me up immediately. “You really didn’t. I like you.”
I stare at him, as he says it so casually. It slid off his tongue, like poison, going right in my bloodstream, straight to my heart. I go back to my seat, downing the rest of mojito. Jaskier follows suit, sitting in front of me, grinning.
“Stop being so afraid.” He grabs my hand, which I didn’t even notice was shaking.
“I like you.” I admit, not looking at him, as I blush even more. “And it’s scary to like someone, Jaskier.”
“It’s not like you like a monster.” He teases as I fix my gaze on his empty glass.
“No, of course not, but…” I stop there. No need to remind him we are from different worlds. Right now we were both here. Together. Nothing was stopping us from falling. “I don’t know.”
“There are a lot of things people may never know.” I look at him now, as he gives me a soft, encouraging smile. “Love might just manage to be one of them.”
“It really is.” I agree, leaning back. I feel my heart calm down a little.
“By the way, you sound incredible.” I open my mouth in shock as Jaskier doesn’t seem to be able to hold in a laugh, as it rings the entire pub. “You look so much more surprised by that, than me liking you.”
“Because you just said I sound incredible!” I pull my hand from his grip, brushing my hair out of my face, squinting at him. “Do you like the sound of dying cats too?”
“If they sounded like you, I might kill cats for fun.” I flush red.
“Stop.” I stutter as he giggles, clearly entertained. “I need to use the restroom.”
I spring to my feet, fanning my face as I rush past him. I find the bathroom in a basement. I go, splash some water on my face. It doesn’t really help, but it gives me a moment to calm down. I take deep breaths, bravely walking out.
I bump into someone.
“Sorry.” I say, lifting my head. My heart sinks.
“It’s okay.” Our eyes meet, as the man face grows full of concern. “Are you okay?”
“I think I might be sick.” I scramble the words, turning on my feet rushing back in the bathroom. I let out the alcohol into the toilet, flushing it, as my head aches. This can’t be happening.
“Hey, are you okay?” The familiar voice creeps in as I grunt. I know he cant hear me. I quickly wash my mouth with some water, coming out again.
“Yeah, sorry.” I cant stop my voice from shaking, as he crosses his arms, his blue eyes piercing at me.
“You looked like you saw a ghost or something.” He giggles and I manage to give a weak smile in response.
“I recognized you, is all.” I decide to say the truth, or at least some of it. “Didn’t expect to see someone like you in this pub.”
“One of my friends is from around here, we’re catching up.” I stare at him, not believing my luck. One of his, one of Joey Bateys friends lives nearby. Are you kidding me.
“Then I wont hold you back any longer.” I say, moving out of the way so he could go to the stairs, but he doesn’t move.
“You’re not holding anyone back, I am glad to meet a fan.” I grin, turning around and initiating us walking out of this basement.
“Maybe not by the bathrooms.” I point out as he snickers and now not seeing him I can pretend it’s Jask.
“Can I buy you a drink?” I shake my head.
“I’m on a date.” I say, gritting my teeth. “Thank you, though.”
“Yes, of course.” I stop in the pub now, as I see that nobody is batting an eye. Nobody else seemed to recognize the actor.
“Well, I better not keep my man waiting.” I look at Joey one more time, praying to god I don’t vomit on him now.
“Enjoy your date.” Joey says as I nod as a thanks. “Maybe I’ll see you around?”
“I truly hope so.” I say in a friendly voice, as he waves at me, going to a different end of a pub.
I rush to our table, practically attacking Jaskier. I grip his shoulder tightly.
“We need to go.” I hiss startling him. “Now.”
“What happened?” I don’t feel like I have time to talk, as I take my purse, pulling out the card.
“Mask on. Head down.” I order, as I speed walk to the bar, paying for the drinks.
I hear Jask behind me, so I rush to the door, glad Joey seems to be seated in the other corner, where he can’t see us flee. Once outside, I keep power walking, until out of breath Jaskier catches on and grabs my hand.
“What happened?” I look at him.
“I met Joey Batey. Inside.” I grunt, as I shake. Jaskier pulls me into a hug, patting my back.
“Hey, he’s just a guy, nothing to be scared off.” I know he’s right. I know it, but yet…
“I am not scared off him, just. If people were to see you two, next to each other…” I jumble the words, not sure if he can understand what I’m trying to say.
“So you were worried for me.” I hear a smile in his voice, so I gently punch his hand, as I pull away. “That’s why I like you.”
“Because you need someone who will look after you like you’re a baby?” I tease as he laughs.
But my beating heart doesn’t slow, so I quickly get us a taxi home.

What is your favorite thing to do on your phone? Fucking around on social media like a true Gen Z-er would, lmao. I have several games that I’d play occasionally, but most of the time I just check the same three apps – Messenger, Facebook, and Twitter. Do you know what you are going to be for Halloween this year? If so, what? I don’t even know if I have plans for the rest of the year. Do you still go trick-or-treating, and if so, how old are you? The last time we did was 2015, when we were 17. Nowadays we just have costume parties. Which Disney princess resembles you the most? At the moment it’s probably Moana, but I heard they’re making a Southeast Asian Disney princess so I’m waiting for her :) What color was your first phone? I’m not sure what the model’s actual color was because it was already in a Winnie the Pooh case when I got it as a present, but the case itself was red.
Was your first phone a flip phone? No, it was one of the Nokia ones with a slightly green screen and the Snake game on it. Have you ever butt dialed someone? I don’t think so. It’s normally the other way around. What is your favorite pizza parlor? We don’t have many of that around here; most places serve a little bit of everything with pizzas usually having its own section on the menu. That said, my favorite place to get pizza is Mama Lou’s if I have some cash on me and want to be fancy, and Yellow Cab if I want fast food pizza but still quality pizza. What is an old website that closed down that you miss? I’m pretty sure Tumblr shut down my old survey blog, the one I’ve had since 2012 or 2013, and I’m very bummed out by it. It’s also weird to me because I have a blog that’s been inactive for much longer and that one is still up... so I don’t know why they would shut down the blog that served as my journal during my teen years. I occasionally look back on it to see how I was doing then and compare it to who I am now, so it sucks that I can’t do that anymore. If you're a girl, have you ever had an embarrassing period story? I guess, but I’ve also reached a point where I’ve stopped seeing period mishaps as embarrassing. Stuff like that just happens sometimes, and I can’t be around people who are going to be babies about it. ...If so, what happened? The worst instance was leaking during a PE workout and my classmate pointing it out for me, and then having to change into denim jeans for the rest of the workout since that was the only other pair of bottoms I had.  What was your worst experience in high school? I can remember one but I don’t wanna relive my anxieties here by writing it in full detail so no thanks. What was your high school's mascot? We don’t have a mascot; we only had colors. Do you listen to Grace VanderWaal? Only if she’s on the radio. I don’t dislike her but I also don’t think I’ve ever looked up her music voluntarily. ...if yes, what's your favorite song of hers? I’m not familiar with her song titles. I’ve caught some songs that I liked but I wouldn’t be able to tell you which ones they were. Do you watch America's Got Talent? Only the compilation videos they’ve got on YouTube. Which country has the best accent? I don’t really rank accents lol Did you cry at your high school graduation? I cried the night before. I find that I don’t usually cry when an event that’s supposed to be emotional is happening, but I do cry before or after it. Did you cry at your college graduation (if applicable)? LOL if applicable, fucking same. I think I’ll mostly be relieved when it finally happens because I’m expecting it to keep getting postponed for now. Do your parents try to stop you from chasing your dreams? No, but they’re also realistic. I tried to court my dad about having an internship with WWE at Connecticut, and he was less than enthusiastic about it which I completely understood. What dreams have stuck with you since childhood? My dream house, to go to Wrestlemania, and to have a lot of money hahaha. Who is a former friend that you wish would come back into your life? Egh, I feel like the way life has turned out has been for the best and I’m currently not wishing any of my former friends back. I suppose it would be nice to have my relationship with Macy back, though. Have you ever been in a serious romantic relationship? Yes, like the one I’m in now. Who was your favorite Spice Girl? I didn’t have one but I did have a soft spot for Victoria Beckham since she’s always in fashion magazines and also because her family has always looked so happy. But I never really liked her as part of the group? because I knew about Victoria before I knew about the Spice Girls. Sorryyy please put your pitchforks down I was born in 1998 :(( <333 Did you ever want to be in a band or music group? No. What instrument did you play in the marching band? We don’t have a club like that here. If you could take any one type of dance class right now, what kind you take? Ballet. Who got kicked off of your favorite talent show that you were mad about? There were a gazillion unfair eliminations on American Idol but I remember being most pissed off over Scotty McCreery’s win and Pia Toscano’s elimination. Do you own the entire series on DVD of any TV show? If so, what? I have a bootleg box set of the 80s sitcom Perfect Strangers, but other than that I’ve been able to watch TV shows via torrent or Netflix, soooo. What show did you always want to be on when you were a kid? I wanted to be a part of the dancing audience on Hi-5, and to be dumped with slime at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards lol. Can you tell the difference between Mary-Kate and Ashley? No. Who is your favorite set of twins? Seoeon and Seojun from The Return of Superman. What is the stupidest baby name you have heard recently? Welp, nothing has beaten Covid Bryant yet... What is the grossest thing you have ever vomited up? Nothing too gross. Just alcohol. Have you ever thrown up in public, in front of someone else? Yes. The sensation of puking terrifies me so there’ve been a few times I asked Gabie to go to the Pop-Up washroom with me, enter a stall also with me, and to calm me down while I throw up D: ...If yes, was it embarrassing? I don’t find it embarrassing because she’s my girlfriend. I’d never ask anyone else to do the same thing for me though. Did you ever take your dog to school? Just once, for my graduation shoot. Name one person you know who had a baby in high school. No one in my batch had a baby while in high school, just shortly after. I’m not naming them but one of them already has three kids, one has a boy, and another one also has a boy. Do you keep a list of your favorite quotes? No. Describe your dream wedding in three words. Lots of food. What is your favorite Chinese restaurant? Tim Ho Wan or King Bee. Does Chinese food make you feel sick? No. Well Filipinos are kinda used to Chinese food, so it would be odd for us to get sick from it. Have you ever seen someone throw up on a plane? Fortunately no. But on a boat and a ship, yes. Do you get motion sickness? Yes, easily.
I’m just going to ignore the next seven questions because I’m tired of entertaining questions like these. Has God ever healed you of anything? If so, what? Do you believe in God? Do you pray, and if so, to whom? What is the most boring church you have ever attended? What is the most lively church you have ever attended? Do you find church fun or boring? When was the last time you went to a church service? When did you learn to ride a bike? I haven’t learned yet. I’ve had a few lucky rounds but they never lasted for more than five seconds. What do you hate the most about summer? The weather. Certainly not as fun when there’s no breeze from the beach complementing the heat. What is your favorite thing to do in a swimming pool? Stay away wherever most of the people are because it’s a little gross. Which part of your body is the most muscular? I don’t know. Do you like sugar skulls? No. Have you ever painted a sugar skull on your face? I probably had it done as a kid. Are you an artist? No. Did you ever take Latin in school? No but we were taught French very briefly because the foundress of my old school is from France. The lessons didn’t really catch on. What was the last race you ran called? I’ve never been in a race/marathon/walkathon before. Do you prefer to run in the street or on the sidewalk? Side of the street. Sidewalks are pretty inconsistent so I’m more likely to trip running on it. Which major holiday is closest to your birthday? Easter is always very near or exactly on my birthday.

Old Republic Building, Chicago
The Old Republic Building is a 23-story commercial structure designed by Vitzthum & Burns in the Classical Revival style. The building is clad with light buff glazed terracotta with Classical Revival terracotta ornamentation manufactured by the Northwestern Terra Cotta Company, the largest of Chicago’s terracotta manufacturers in the early 20th Century.
It was originally commissioned by businessman Herbert Bell as the headquarters for the Bell and Zoller Coal Company and originally named the Bell Building. In 1956 it was sold to the Old Republic International and has since been known as the Old Republic Building.
Located on the northeast corner of Michigan Avenue and South Water Street, the Old Republic Building was one of the first tall buildings, to be constructed south of the Chicago River on Michigan Avenue (after its widening in the early 1920s).
The building exemplifies the city’s efforts to encourage commercial development on the avenue as a result of major improvements brought about by Burnham Plan of Chicago. The construction of the Michigan Avenue Bridge, the widening of the avenue and the construction of the bi-level roadway at South Water Street and Wacker Drive in the 20th Century changed the face of Michigan Avenue in particular, and the downtown in general.
The Classical Revival structure at 307 N. Michigan Avenue was one of the first tall buildings constructed south of the Chicago River on Michigan Avenue after that street was widened in the early 1920s. This project, along with the construction of a new Michigan Avenue Bridge, transformed downtown south of the river.
Friday, October 8, 2010 A city panel recommended Chicago Landmark status for the Old Republic Building, a 23-story office tower on Michigan Avenue completed in 1924.
The commission voted Thursday, October 7, 2010, to approve landmark status for the 151,000-square-foot building, the headquarters of insurer Old Republic International, which owns the property.
Old Republic International sought the designation as part of a planned $12.4-million renovation to the tower’s exterior, mechanical systems and common areas, according to a news release from the Department of Zoning and Land Use Planning. As a landmark, the property would be eligible for reduced property taxes through Cook County’s Class L tax program.

333 North Michigan, Chicago
333 North Michigan is a skyscraper in the art deco style located in the Loop community area of Chicago, Illinois in the United States. Architecturally, it is noted for its dramatic upper-level setbacks that were inspired by the 1923 skyscraper zoning laws. Geographically, it is known as one of the four 1920s flanks of the Michigan Avenue Bridge (along with the Wrigley Building, Tribune Tower and the London Guarantee Building) that are contributing properties to the Michigan–Wacker Historic District, which is a U.S. Registered Historic District.
Additionally, it is known as the geographic beneficiary of the jog in Michigan Avenue, which makes it visible along the Magnificent Mile as the building that seems to be in the middle of the road at the foot of this stretch of road (pictured at left). The building was designed by Holabird & Roche/Holabird & Root and completed in 1928. It is 396 feet (120.7 m) tall, and has 34 stories.
It was designated a Chicago Landmark on February 7, 1997. It is located on the short quarter mile stretch of Michigan Avenue between the Chicago Landmark Historic Michigan Boulevard District and the Magnificent Mile. The building is managed and leased by MB Real Estate.
Designed by John Wellborn Root, Jr., the building's long and narrow footprint and towering structure are a tribute to Root's father John Wellborn Root's earlier Chicago Monadnock Building; Louis Sullivan's tall-building canon; and Eliel Saarinen's second-prize entry in the Tribune Tower design contest. The building was such a success that Holabird and Root took commercial residence there. The building's long and slender design optimized use of natural lighting. The building's interior represents Prohibition era modernism, especially its Art Deco Tavern club.
The building is embellished by a polished marble base, ornamental bands, and reliefs depicting frontiersmen and Native Americans at Fort Dearborn, which partially occupied the site.

A Second Decade of Movies
Ten years ago on Facebook, I compiled a list of every movie I watched, in order, from the first decade of the network’s existence. Now, here’s part two, covering the years 2010-2019. There are 754 titles below, though some are repeat viewings. The movie I watched the most? Harold Lloyd in “The Freshman.” My favorite movie from the last decade? “The Tree of Life.”
But I began the 2010s with James Cameron’s mega-hit “Avatar.” I’ll go on record saying the movie is still enjoyable ten years later, as I watched it again in 2019 with my kids to prep for visiting the World of Pandora at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. But--I also agree with those who say there’s little remembered from the film in the culture today. Can you name the stars? Recount the plot in detail? Mostly what we remember from the film is the spectacle of it all, game-changing when it was released in 2009.

4/19/19 Update
Hello again everyone!! I really was planning to make a post much earlier, but I had been a lot busier recently than expected. This is going to be a fairly long post, so get ready to read!
About three weeks ago, I moved into my apartment in Yotsuya, which is in central Tokyo. I love my neighborhood, because there are so many cute houses, lots of trees, and a bunch of little shrines/temples. My apartment building is pretty old and I have to walk up to the fifth floor, but my room is much more spacious than last summer’s and looks very clean and new.
Tumblr media
-Night view from the balcony of my apartment.
Tumblr media
-Some food I made at home. I don’t always eat out!
About two weeks ago, I went out to meet with a group of William & Mary and Keio University students! Everyone in the group had studied or will study abroad at each others’ schools. We ate at an izakaya (a bar-type restaurant with small dishes and drinks). Lots of yummy treats and all-you-can-drink made for a good night, lol. We ended up going to another drinking place right after that, which taught me how much Japanese people like to drink!
Tumblr media
-Picture of the group before heading to the last trains at midnight
One weekend, I went out to participate in hanami, which is the viewing of cherry blossoms. Luckily, I was able to experience the sakura in full bloom, and it was just amazing getting to see them while walking around any place in Tokyo. One popular place is by the Naka-meguro river. The world’s largest Starbucks is also there, which had a wait of over an hour just to enter! Obviously, I did not go in.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
-Random selfie because I know how much you all miss my face
Tumblr media
-Outside of world’s largest Starbucks: the Starbucks Reserve Roastery (also wow that girl has really nice hair. Everyone in Japan has such nicely cut and styled hair it makes me feel like a bum)
I also got to meet up with my tomodachi (friend) group through a program at my school. Two of them are Japanese students (Keito and Hina) and one of them is an exchange student from Taiwan (Ling-Yi). Keito grew up in the Saitama prefecture, which is about an hour northwest of Tokyo. I felt bad because it takes him two hours just to commute to school! He specifically grew up in a town called Kawagoe, so he showed us around. It is a very traditional town with many old buildings and is actually trying to attract more tourists. We tried a few different snacks (they are known for sweet potatoes), biked around town, and also visited a shrine and saw sakura. Thank you Keito!!
Tumblr media
-Street in Kawagoe with koinobori (hanging carp streamers)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-SUPER beautiful river with sakura and gentle sunlight. Put me into a dreamlike state to be honest.
Tumblr media
-Random picture of really good shaved ice (sakura and mango). I hadn’t had shaved ice in like a year, so I was really surprised by how much I liked it. We ordered three of these for just four people, which was way too much. Highly recommend careful portion control.
Tumblr media
-Also had one of my favorite Japanese dishes, tsukemen, recently. If I haven’t explained it to you in person, it’s basically ramen except the noodles are on the side and you dip them into the broth (which is usually a bit thicker). SO GOOD. Why is this not a thing in the U.S.
Before I forget, I need to talk about school. I almost forgot that’s the reason I’m even in Japan. It has been really laid-back and fun so far! I keep making a variety of friends from so many different countries. It is so interesting to hear everyone’s commentary during class discussions. I am taking 9 classes, which is a lot but is only 16 credits. They each meet for 1.5 hrs once a week. I’m taking The World of Noh (type of Japanese theatre), Consumer Psychology, Deep Culture Differences in Japan, Human Engineering, Japanese Communication: Daily Life, Japanese Culture/Society in a Qualitative Perspective, Reading Colonialism in Asia, Japanese Grammar 6, and Japanese Society and Communication. All are not bad so far and pretty easy. It’s nice to not really have any science classes to stress over!
Tumblr media
-Picture of some of the best pork ramen in Tokyo. The ramen shop is called Ramen Jiro and has many branches, but the original shop is right next to my university! I have never seen another foreigner eat here. Also probably because there is no menu displayed and everyone has to give their specific order in Japanese. It has amazingly soft, fatty pieces of pork with chewy noodles, garlic, bean sprouts, and cabbage. The portion is enormous and only costs $5.50!
Just a few days ago, I went to visit Tokyo Tower, which is right down the road from my school. I went with a mutual friend I met at a club (also clubbing is really fun in Japan but that is a whole other story for another time). The lights of Tokyo Tower at dusk were really nice to see. There was also a small adventure park inside the building that we went to that was quite interesting lol.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-Tokyo Tower. I was surprised when I found out the tower is actually 333 meters tall, taller than the Eiffel Tower’s 300 meters!
On another note, I recently got my MCAT score back and was really happy with my score. It is so nice to finally feel relieved after months of studying and a month of waiting for the results. It’s not always apparent, but I honestly worked so hard to get where I am today. I put in crazy amounts of time and energy into studying for mental breakdown-inducing exams in order to achieve my life-long goals. I am truly grateful for the people in my life who have supported me and make it all worth it. Anyway, this is the end of this really long post. Thank you for reading and hopefully it was interesting?? I LOVE living in Tokyo and definitely will not want to leave in August. All I can do is enjoy these moments!
Until next time,
Jason

I don't know how this'll work but if you can, can you do 69 with Connor/Hank Thanks so much for all theses dabbles BTW youare the best mama
“Always a strip club, huh?”
It’s not a question that Connor needs to respond to. Hank does it often enough that he’s learning the differences between idle comments and actual queries that warrant some sort of response. Connor rolls the quarter over his knuckles, glances aside, watches the passing streetlights play off Hank’s face.
He’s looking...better. Healthier. It’s not a brag to say Connor’s had a great part in that. Adjusting Hank’s schedule to accommodate for better sleep, chiding him into exercise by endlessly listing the benefits until Hank was annoyed enough to do it, if only to shut him up. Connor can’t actually eat the meals he looked up to make, but he enjoys watching Hank eat food rich in vitamins and nutrients, enjoys the way he cautiously smiles and rumbles out a “not half bad, for rabbit food.” when Connor makes something that earned rave reviews from commenters.
It’s satisfying in a new and confusing way. Like so much else is since…since before. Before Connor’s small amount of personal belongings found their way into the spare room of Hank’s house, before emotions and worries and humanity, as sloppy and inconvenient as it is at times.
“You alright over there?” Hank glances away from the road, unsafe but it’s only for a split second.
“I’m fine.” The words come in a burst, eagerness to erase the crease from Hank’s brow. “My apologies. I was simply…”
Lying isn’t new. He’s been made to lie before. Falsify his intentions to get what he wants. The fact that he doesn’t quite know what he wants right now doesn’t mean he doesn’t know how to improvise.
“I was thinking about why you seem to have such a distaste for establishments like the Eden Club.”
Hank snorts, derision in his tone that has Connor frowning.
“What’s to like about’em? Filled up with jackasses. Or guys like me, way too far fucking past prime, paying for what they can’t get or are too fucking lazy to get out on the streets.”
“You’re not past prime.” Connor finds himself defending without thinking. “You’ve lost weight since the beginning of our partnership. Your work is exemplary, as always. Why would you compare yourself to the usual patrons of the club?”
“Because I own a mirror?” Hank scoffs. “Because my eyes still work? I’m an old asshole, Connor, you don’t gotta sugarcoat it for me.”
“Your personality can come off as...abrasive.” Connor says carefully, answered with another snort. “But it isn’t distasteful. It suits you. A hard-boiled police Lieutenant isn’t often going to be soft-spoken and gentle. You wouldn’t be half as successful if you were always trying to make friends.”
There’s another jump of eyes towards him, longer this time. Considering. Connor thinks, idly, that if Hank had an LED it would be yellow right now. Statistics and observations loading in, adjusting his actions according to the surroundings.
He rolls his eyes, shifting the back to the road.
“Quit flirting.”
There’s an immediate error message. Connor blinks quickly, trying to get rid of the blinking red in his field of vision.
“I wasn’t--I didn’t mean to--”
“Jesus, Connor, breathe.” Hank laughs, rough, bringing the car to a stop, expression thrown into shadows by the neon of the sign. “I was joking. Shit, you alright? You look like you’re gonna stroke out on me.”
“I--I didn’t mean to--” Connor inhales sharply, despite the fact that he doesn’t need to breathe. It feels right, eases some of the oddity in his chest and head. “I didn’t mean to imply or insinuate--”
“Yeah, I know.” The arch of Hank’s brow is pointed, like an accusation. “It was a joke. Calm the fuck down.”
“You aren’t...distasteful.” Connor says quietly. “I would, if I knew how. My programming doesn’t include...I don’t know how to…”
Words are difficult. Connor knows sixteen languages and words fail him as Hank continues to stare. There’s a gobsmacked expression on his face as they sit in silence, registering as shock and, maybe, possibly, a bit of hope. Only in his eyes, hidden behind layers of protective covering, like everything else about Hank.
Connor’s gotten very good at peeling back those layers.
“Shit, you’re...you’re serious.” Hank shoves a hand into his hair, sending it into disarray in a very fitting way. “Okay, that’s--we’ll fucking get back to that. Later.”
Connor bobs his head, forcing a smile onto his mouth, reaching out cautiously to lay a hand on Hank’s thigh when the man grabs for the door handle. Hank’s eyes dip first to his hand, lifting to meet his own, and Connor feels, briefly, nervous. Excited. A bit like he feels when he’s near the edge of a building staring down at a drop.
“I can ask an employee once we’re inside how to properly flirt. So that my intentions aren’t misconstrued next time. I’m certain there’s downloadable programming available for it.”
Hank looks amazed, a little confused. Like he does when Connor does something particularly impressive. Like he sometimes does when they’re curled up on the couch with Sumo, relaxing after a long successful case. When he doesn’t think Connor can see him watching.
“Connor.”
“Yes, Lieutenant?” Connor smiles, sees Hank return it without thinking, an amused tilt to his mouth even as he rolls his eyes.
“Get out of the fucking car.”

From Pleven take the main road E-83 and continue east towards Byala (pop. 10,922). The town is mentioned in 17th century documents. In 1907 one of the first museums in the country dedicated to the Russo-Turkish War of Liberation 1877-1878 was founded here in the building which held the headquarters of the Russian Army in 1877. The Russian nurse Baroness Yulia Vreyska is buried in the museum yard. Byala’s most important sight is the bridge over the River Yantra, built 1865-1867 on orders by Rousse vali Midhad Pasha. The bridge is 276 m long, 9 m wide and has 14 arches with relief figures.
Danubian port of Rousse
52 km along the E-85 main road is the Danubian port of Rousse (pop, 178,000 situated to the east of the mouth of the Roussenski Lorn river, opposite the Romanian town of Gyurvevo (Ghiurghiu). This is Bulgaria’s fourth largest town sofia daily tours, In Roman times a garrison was stationed here and the fortress was called Sexaginti (port of 60 ships). During the barbarian invasions in the 6th-7th centuries the fortress was destroyed and the population withdrew 26 km to the south of the Danube where the mediaeval fortress town of Cherven was built, resembling Tsarevets in Veliko Turnovo.
After the Ottoman invasion it was destroyed and a new fortress called Rouschouk here was built. 7 he town could be entered through five stone gates with iron doors — the Kyuntoukapou gate still exists. In 1864 Rouschouk became the centre of the Danubian province which included Nish, Sofia and Vidin. It had broad paved streets with curbed pavements and street lights delivered from Vienna; an old people’s house, a hospital, a post office, two large western style hotels were also built which are still to be seen. The first railway line in Bulgaria, Rouschouk-Vama, was built in 1866. Rouschouk became one of the great revolutionary centres and a link between revolutionaries in Bulgaria and emigrants in Romania. Many fighters for national independence are associated with the town.
Russian liberators entered the town on February 20, 1878. In the first years following liberation, Rousse had the highest population in Bulgaria, and had more factories, banks and consulates than Sofia, Today the town is one of the largest industrial centres in the country with shipyards and oil refineries.
