The Mean Clean Machine (Final Draft)

Picture this: an engine that performs twice as good than a standard V8, last longer, and gives off virtually zero emissions.  

Now, you might be asking yourself, where can I get one of these “magic” engines?

Well, what if I were to tell you that in order to achieve this super engine, all that is need is a new type of fuel?  You would probably say that that is preposterous and couldn't ever be achieved.

Well, it is happening right now, all across the country and even all around the world.  Companies and individuals are becoming more fuel efficient by making the switch to…

Clean diesel.

It has been tested and retested and after multiple studies and tests in fuel efficiency, performance, and pollution emissions, switching to clean diesel fuel would be a beneficial to all aspects of machinery.    

Clean diesel is a new fuel that puts old regular diesel to shame.  Implementing clean diesel is not a hard process either.  It can be implemented into any existing diesel system with only a fuel modifications to the fuel lines and piston timing.  

Clean diesel is the path to a better and cleaner future.  

To start, switching to clean diesel would increase efficiency.  

Increased efficiency equals faster production rate.

Faster production rate equal more money, faster.

Clean diesel has been implement and designed into fuel systems in order to increase their performance. Studies show that:

“New on-road vehicle emissions levels of criteria pollutants have been virtually eliminated. Many diesel retrofit options provide fuel economy benefits and can extend the life of an existing capital investment while also providing significant emission reductions, making vehicle and equipment upgrades an economically wise choice for owners. Diesels are the most efficient combustion engines. Model year 2010 and later trucks are experiencing an average five percent improvement in fuel economy” (Diesel Technology Forum).

Newer vehicles cannot properly perform with some of the fuels that they are currently running on. Clean diesel allows for a much broader power band which give the engines the torque and horsepower that they need to run.  The demand for this kind of power is growing and soon everyone will be running on clean diesel.

“Those who are more optimistic about the exportability of Tier 4 machinery have said the global market for ultra-low-sulfur diesel will rise and that the improved productivity of Tier 4 machines will offset their up-front costs. Some manufacturers also have de-rated engine horsepower to skirt stricter diesel-emission rules, while others have introduced gasoline engines for machines below 50 hp, such as air compressors... Manfredi counters that these new clean-diesel machines must be 20% or more productive to clear the Tier 4 cost hurdle, but manufacturers are more optimistic” (Van Hampton).

By implementing clean diesel, it includes fuel-saving strategies and a lower cost.

Now since clean diesel has so many perks, some people had to take it upon themselves to tirelessly search through the data and find flaws in the system.

A main focus for clean diesel is the “clean” part.  People have the desire to reduce the emissions that are caused by current black smoke diesel engines.  The results are “especially attested by the increases in predicted fuel liquid spray overshoot and the increase in the particles larger than 50 nm typically formed in the locally rich, high temperature regions of a diffusive Diesel mixing-controlled flame” (Benajes).  People are saying that the point of clean diesel is to reduce the harmful particles released into the air and that research has shown that sometimes clean diesel can be extremely “unclean”.  They are saying that clean diesel is not always the safest option when it comes to reducing particle emissions.

The big picture, however, is not being seen here.  

If an engine is not properly tuned for clean diesel, it will not properly run with the new fuel that has been introduced.

This is true with any engine.  If a standard 2.4 liter, four stroke gasoline engine isn't tuned properly, it will release tons and tons of black toxic smog.  

It is always a good idea to keep your engine tuned and running in good condition.

Other complaints have been about some extreme cases on clean diesel.  It was rumored to have been a cancer-causing carcinogen and many studies have been conducted on this topic.  Reports say that:

“The carcinogenicity issue smoldered for about two years before it violently combusted. In 1986, the cancer-causing effects of diesel particulates metamorphosed into the single most important issue concerning the exhaust emissions of cars... The ADAC stopped promoting the eco-friendly diesel and instead expressed concerns about its alleged cancer-causing soot emissions. Therefore only one eco-friendly car remained as an option: the gasoline-powered car with a catalytic converter” (Neumaier 77).

The cancer-causing effects of this new fuel far outweigh the eco-friendly effects and people started to take note of this and strayed away from this mystery fuel.

Let’s just stop and take a moment to look at the dates in the research.

1986

That was 30 years ago.

Almost everything in the entire world has had drastic improvement in the last 30 years.

Scientists have drastically improved clean diesel and can confirm that it does not release cancer causing toxins.  

There are so many benefits to switching to clean diesel.  The money and time saved is something that cannot be skimmed over.

Switching to clean diesel just seems like the logical thing to do.  It saves money and increases production.  Who wouldn’t want that?
