Claude Brousson

Claude Brousson (l. 1647-1698) was a prolific writer and famous preacher after the revocation of the Edict of Nantes in 1685 when Protestantism was outlawed in France. He self-exiled to Lausanne and Holland and returned to France to preach and organize illegal nighttime gatherings. After years of clandestine ministry, Brousson was arrested and executed at Montpellier on 4 November 1698.

Claude Brousson (1647-1698) était un écrivain prolifique et un prédicateur célèbre après la révocation de l'Édit de Nantes en 1685, lorsque le protestantisme fut interdit en France. Il s'exila à Lausanne et en Hollande, puis revint en France pour prêcher et organiser des rassemblements nocturnes illégaux. Après des années de ministère clandestin, Brousson fut arrêté et exécuté à Montpellier le 4 novembre 1698.
