Realized I've been getting Class of 1999 II: The Substitute (1994; about a new teacher at a troubled inner-city school who turns out to be a homicidal military android) and The Substitute (1996; about an ex-mercenary who goes undercover as a substitute teacher at a troubled inner-city school) confused all these years.

Appliance repair edmonton by advanceappliance.ca
Appliance repair administration Specialist is an expert who fixes harmed or breaking down home machines nearby or in the shop, contingent on the requirements of their clients.
The three most normal purposes behind disappointments that we see because of wear and tear are a precisely locked blower, disappointment of the fan engine, and filthy condenser curls.
Purchaser Reports suggests supplanting any machine that is over eight years of age, except if it's a top of the line model and has a specific enticement for you. Others propose supplanting any top-stacking washer fabricated in 1999 or before.
The primary decide is clear to the point that we nearly feel senseless expressing it "¦ "Be great." Regardless of what the situation, being warm, cordial, and connecting with will go far toward satisfying your clients.
Most fridges are intended to endure somewhere in the range of 10 and 20 years. In the event that you're having any of different issues on this rundown and the ice chest is north of a decade old, you'll likely set aside more cash over the long haul by essentially supplanting it. If not, you could sink cash into fixes for a refrigerator that is now on out.
Be that as it may, as a decent guideline, assuming you have various flawed parts or on the other hand on the off chance that your cooler is more than decade old, it is presumably time to supplant it. Buyer Reports suggests supplanting your fridge if the expense to fix it is the greater part the cost of purchasing another one.
The control board is one of the most costly cooler parts to fix, on the grounds that no piece of the machine can work without it. On the off chance that your cooler has totally quit working, it presumably has something to do with your control board.
Pipe fix, installations, any whatever else connected with your water supply and seepage pipes falls inside a handyman's liabilities. The above definition prompts two ends: handymen are masters of anything associated with water, and they are not specific to machine fix.
On account of your clothes washer, there are really three individuals that you could call; a circuit tester, a handyman, and a machine fix individual.
Appliance repair implies any gadget which contains and utilizes a class I or class II substance or substitute as a refrigerant and which is utilized for family or business purposes, including any climate control system, engine vehicle forced air system, cooler, chiller, or cooler.
The most well-known fridge issue is a cooler not cooling. Clearly, having your refrigerator keep food cool is a need, so this issue should be tended to rapidly.
Clothes washers, dishwashers and tumble dryers represent 14% of an ordinary energy bill, taking the best position in our rundown. The power expected to warm the water that they go through pushes utilization, making them eager for energy home devices.
When they arrive at age 10, children can begin being responsible for a full pattern of clothing with oversight. They'll be already incredibly adult to comprehend how the apparatuses work and how to utilize them cautiously without breaking the machines or harming themselves. Teens can be completely responsible for their own clothing without oversight.

Predatory Snail (Conus)
*hehe will post our next blogpost on the account*

I. Classification
Kingdom Animalia Subkingdom Bilateria Infrakingdom Protosomia Superphylum Lophozoa Phylum Mollusca Class Gastropoda Subclass Prosobranchia Order Neogastropoda Family Conidae Genus Conus
ITIS (n.d.)
II. Biology
Tropical Dwellers
Approximately, there are 700 Conus species. The majority is found throughout tropical and subtropical waters, such as the South China Sea, Australia, and the Pacific Ocean. Few species were found in South Africa, Southern Australia, Southern Japan, and Mediterranean Sea (Dutertre and Lewis, 2011). There are also existing species thriving in temperate waters such as C. californicus which are found in the North American Pacific coast(Gao et al. 2017).

Habitat
Cone snails are commonly found in intertidal and shallow sublittoral zones. They are present in coral reef areas, sand bottoms, and silty crevices. Some were reportedly found in mangrove areas, and in deeper waters of up to 400-600 meters (Carpenter and Niem, 1998; Dutertre and Lewis, 2011).
Anatomy
Cone snails are gastropods. Gastropods have asymmetrical body symmetry and their shells are spirally coiled. Conus shells are cone-shaped. The spire of the shell is conical and moderately low to flat. It has a well-developed body whorl that tapers towards the narrow anterior end. The aperture is very long and narrow. There is a notch at the aperture’s posterior end, and a short, wide siphonal canal is located at the anterior end. The operculum is corneous, small, and ovate to claw-shaped. However, the operculum may not always be present (Carpenter and Angelis, 2016).

The soft body of gastropods has 4 main regions: the head, the foot, the visceral mass, and the mantle. The head protrudes from the anterior end. The foot is a muscular ventral organ with a flattened base used for locomotion (creeping or burrowing). The visceral mass is located in the spire of the shell and contains most organ systems. The mantle is a collar-like tegument which lines and secretes the shell and forms a mantle cavity normally provided with respiratory gills in aquatic species (Carpenter and Angelis, 2016).

Cone snails have a specialized venom apparatus that comprises a venom gland, salivary glands, a radular sac, a pharynx, a proboscis, and a radula. The radula of the cone snail is hollowed and barbed and it resembles a harpoon. These harpoons are produced and stored in the radular sac, which is divided into two arms and connects to the pharynx. The short arm contains a few fully formed radula while the long arm is where the radulas are produced.
The cone snail uses chemosensory to detect prey. Once the prey is detected, it will extend its proboscis and shoot its radula which will inject a potent venom to paralyze its prey (Kohn et al. 1972; Marsh 1977; Salisbury et al. 2010; Schulz et al. 2004).

Life Cycle
Most cone snail species have separate sexes and fertilization happens internally. Cone snails lay their eggs once a year. The egg masses of cone snails are usually made up of up to 25 egg capsules with each capsule containing roughly around 1000 eggs (Zehra & Perveen 1991). Two types of cone snail hatchlings have been described, the veliger stage (free-swimming larvae) and veliconcha stage (juvenile snails). During these stages, only a few will survive. In between 1 and 50 days, the snails will undergo the pelagic stage (Perron, 1983).
According to Rockel et al as cited in Dutertre and Lewis (2011), it is estimated that cone snails have a lifespan of 10-20 years. This estimated lifespan is based on the marks and shell growth of the snail. They can reach a maximum size of > 20 cm, but most species are < 8 cm and weight < 100 g.

III. Relationship with Humans
Cone snails are exploited for ornamental trade and research.
Conus shells have economic value and are marketed as ornaments. One of the rarest and most valuable shells in the world is the Conus gloriamaris or the Glory of the Seas Cone (The Editors of Encyclopaedia Britannica 2020).
Conantokins or sleeper peptides from the geographic cone snail are short chain peptides that can affect neural receptors in fish and mammals. This peptide has great potential that humans can benefit from when it comes to paint ecpetop, drug and alcohol withdrawal symptoms and learning. Con-G one of the conatokins from the geographic cone snail has been found to act as a neuroprotective agent in brain ischemia from strokes. Conus shells contain conotoxin which is used for drug development. For example, the ω-MVIIA (ziconotide) is a well-known conotoxin approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (2004) to treat chronic pain in cancer and AIDS patients. It is derived from the toxin/venom produced by Conus Magus (Gao et al. 2017). Conus regius is rich in alpha-conotoxins, which can target nicotine receptors and can help in research concerning the development of medicine for Alzheimer’s disease, schizophrenia, lung cancer and even tobacco addiction. (Kompella et al. 2015)
Death by conus?
Humans can be negatively affected by conus. It is recorded that 30 humans have died from a conus sting. Once stung, the victim feels numbness accompanied by dizziness, slurred speech and respiratory paralysis and then death.
IV. Did you know?
1. The venom from one cone snail has a hypothesized potential of killing up to 700 people. (Kapil S., et al.)
2. The Geographic Cone Snail (Conus geographus), according to BBC Earth, is the most toxic cone snail in the world. Its venom contains a protein which when isolated scientists can be used as effectively as a morphine substitute without the harmful side effects.
3. A person was recorded to be killed from a cone snail sting in as short as 5 minutes!
4. Some cone snails are solitary in nature, like the Conus spurius or the Alphabet cone, and the only time individuals have contact with each other is during mating!
5. The largest Alphabet cone shell was recorded at 80 mm or as large as your regular sized mountain dew can!
6. Conus species were observed to exhibit “fishermen-like” behavior when hunting for food! They use their proboscis as lures and catch their prey, scientists even coined the term hook and line method to describe this hunting behavior, just like the fishing method.
7. The cone snail is the only recorded species in the animal kingdom to use insulin as a chemical weapon, a hormone that is also used to help diabetic people! Even though this is used as a means to catch prey, scientists actually used insulin from the cone snail’s venom and combined it with human insulin creating a new type of insulin called mini-Ins.

Unarrested Development:A New Standpoint on Aid and Extreme Poverty
Though income inequality is a global issue, the recent rise of extreme poverty, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa, is a hugely concerning global trend. Nations, NGOs, and private non-profits around the world spent over $150 billion in foreign aid in 2015 alone, with a significant portion of that going to Africans living in extreme poverty; the United States alone spent nearly $10 billion on the African continent in 2014. However the proportion of Africans living in extreme poverty has hardly decreased since 2005, which begs the obvious question: what are we doing wrong? Are we looking at aid through the wrong historical standpoint? How can we improve lives while ensuring organic economic growth for these nations, so at some point they can sustain themselves?
When the United States first began taking interest in the development of African nations around 1960, they provided aid based on the theory that economic growth brings security and development. As then-Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara argued in 1966, economic growth diminishes violence in developing nations, creating political stability. McNamara’s thinking stemmed partially from the Foreign Assistance act of 1948, also known as the Marshall Plan, under which the United States provided over $13 billion (equivalent to $189.39 billion today) of economic aid to Western European countries rebuilding after World War II. The United States required all nations receiving aid to follow strict capitalistic principles: free trade, European integration, and privatization of some government industries. Then-Secretary of State John Marshall believed that economic growth would create political stability in Europe and he was largely correct; the years between 1948 and 1952 were not only the most rapid period growth in modern European history, but also the most peaceful amongst Western European nations. Meanwhile, the Eastern European Bloc, which rejected the Marshall plan, suffered from low productivity, dysfunction, and eventually violent rebellion from nations within the Soviet Union. The success of the Marshall plan to reinvigorate the European economy contributed to McNamara’s view that aid in developing nations should focus on creating economic growth, rather than political stability. This strategic objective thus became a cornerstone of United States foreign aid policy.
However there was a vocal faction of academics, led by Harvard Professor Samuel Huntington, who emphasized the importance of creating stable political institutions in conjunction with economic aid. Huntington argued in 1968 that nations would become violent if their economic and social modernization wasn’t accompanied by political development. Up until the Vietnam war, the United States had provided economic aid to rebuild countries that were already relatively modern, with relatively stable governments (Western Europe, South Korea, Japan, etc). During and after the Vietnam war, the United States reached a crossroads; they couldn’t provide badly needed aid to modernize the poor, rural factions, because of a lack of stable political institutions. To give a more modern example, the United States pumps over $1 billion of aid a year into Afghanistan, funding everything from agricultural training to basic education and gender equality training. Afghanistan ranked 3rd on Transparency International’s list of the most corrupt countries in the world, and anger over lack of functional political structures has only created more public support for insurgent groups like the Taliban. McNamara’s development theory proved successful for developed nations, but Huntington exposed deep flaws in the power of economic aid for developing nations.
Its most recent mission statement, USAID calls "to partner to end extreme poverty and to promote resilient, democratic societies while advancing the security and prosperity of the United States." One may ask how well US action reflecting either Huntington or Mcnamara’s theory of development work towards these objectives.
Sub-Saharan Africa in the 1960’s was in an earlier stage of nationhood, so the United States focused on reducing conflict; between 1980-1999, the majority of US aid went to nations in turmoil (Sudan, Somalia, and Ethiopia). After 1999, the majority of US aid went to developed nations with fast-growing economies (Nigeria, Uganda, Tanzania, and South Africa). Concurrently, the United States budget for aid has grown by 2,661% to $5.6 billion a year, with 74% of this money going to social infrastructure and humanitarian aid. Despite a significant increase in aid directed towards African countries, the percentage of Africa in poverty has increased over the past fifty years. In her book, Dead Aid, Dambisa Moyo describes a systematic poverty which has overtaken much of Sub-saharan Africa due to the current aid model. Similar to spoiled children squandering their weekly budgets, corrupt elites of African countries misallocate aid with expectation of future aid acting as a substitute for government savings. Moyo’s theory of Africa’s systemic poverty resonates with Huntington’s theory of development. Huntington would likely argue that economic aid is wasted on countries like Zimbabwe with less developed political institutions because they are too corrupt to use the funds effectively. A report from Investments to End Poverty stated that in some cases less than half of foreign aid reached its desired benefactors.
Although economic aid certainly has a role to play in the development of nations, there must first be proper geopolitical development and an understanding that aid is not a handout, but a helping hand, because only poor countries can lift themselves up. Following this new, modern principle of development, the United States should look to create existing stages of modern development and then work with the rest of the world to provide aid befitting the stages. Beginning with social development and strengthening institutions that enforce the rule of law, for example, would benefit a country by reducing corruption before heavy foreign investment and direct aid inflows begin, and ensure that wealth truly does trickle down to the lowest socioeconomic classes that traditional aid often targets. Existing aid solutions are untenable for the long term, but so is the rise of extreme poverty. A new strategy is necessary, and unless it comes from a standpoint that combines the traditional view of development with the modern, individual national developmental needs, any solution will fall short of the lofty objectives.

Hello Supercult West! This is student council president of the Class of 1999, Cameron Coker. A little about me, um, I’m planning on going for a BS in “Education” with a minor in “mixing it up this week” once I get into college. And, uh, I’m here to talk about my school here in Bend, Oregon.
I’d say it’s pretty normal, I guess. We use prison jump suits as uniforms. We’ve got a lot of lockers decorated with…um…student art projects? Unfortunately I’m currently hiding in one of those lockers hiding from my substitute teacher Mr. Bolen. He seemed like a cool guy at first. Very disciplined. Sort of got that stern army vet vibe going for him. But then he got on the wrong side of some of the bad apples in our class. Good ol’ Class of 1999, am I right? Hahaha…ha…
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sqz5dbs5zmo
Have a good summer vacation…see you next Fall…
I hear the new substitute…is a real scream…
Out of the frying pan…into the fire…
Things got too…hot for him to handle…
I’m Blue…da ba dee da ba daa…
So anyway now I’m hiding from my substitute teacher because he’s killed half the student body and a good amount of the staff. I think he might be a terminator or something? I don’t know. It’s not really clear. He’s bullet proof, he doesn’t look at explosions, he speaks almost entirely in one-liners, and he has a thing for enforcing extreme levels of discipline. I mean yeah, our school is a violent, drugged up dystopia, on the brink of being directed by George Miller, but now I’m on the run for being tardy! YOU try being on time when you can’t get to school without navigating my way through an array of Predator style booby traps!
Anyway have fun doing whatever it is you do in the relative safety of NOT here at my school. When you watch the documentary of my school be sure to take a shot every time my bloodthirsty substitute says a school related pun, every time our leading lady gives someone an awkward hug, and whenever anyone says the words “discipline” or “mission”. Oh crap, I think someone’s coming! Get down and be quiet!
Supercult West presents Class of 1999 II: The Substitute!
Class of 1999 II: The Substitute Hello Supercult West! This is student council president of the Class of 1999, Cameron Coker. A little about me, um, I’m planning on going for a BS in “Education” with a minor in “mixing it up this week” once I get into college.

Submarine in Pakistan Navy
The programme of (submarine technology transfer) Agosta class submarine, envisages a very high degree of transfer-of-technology, which is bound to benefit the local industry in improving our indigenous capability of building air-independent propulsion, which is a viable substitute of nuclear propulsion....—Rear Admiral Gulzaman Malik, Commander of Submarine Service Force, 1999, [29]The Submarines Service Force (SSF) is the major command and aggressive command of Pakistan Navy, with primary mission including the commencing of peaceful engagement, surveillance and intelligence management, special operations, precision strikes, battle group operations, and the control of Pakistan's border seas. The Submarine command also takes responsibility to protect country's sea lanes of communication as well as to protect the economical interests, foreign trade and development of the country.[64][65]
In mid-2006, the Navy announced its requirement of three new fast-attack submarines to replace the two Agosta-70 submarines and rebuild its submarine fleet— after retiring the four Daphne Class.[64] Immediately, the French defence consortium, the DCN, offered its latest export design— the Marlin class submarine— which is based on the Scorpène class submarine, but also uses technology from the Barracuda nuclear attack submarine.[64] However, the Navy chose the Type 214 submarine, during the "IDEAS 2008 exhibition", the HDW director Walter Freitag told the media that: "The commercial contract has been finalized up to 95%. The first submarine would be delivered to the Pakistan Navy in 64 months after signing of the contract while the rest would be completed successively in 12 months".[66] However in 2009, it was reported that the Navy had cancelled its plans with HDW, the German government adjourn the deal further deliberation leading the Navy to cancel the contract with HDW while the German government seemed not-interested to transfer the submarine technology to Pakistan. However, the German government insisted that "a final decision should be made soon".[64] In 2012, an undisclosed navy officials confirmed to media and news channels that the plan of acquiring German submarines has been scrapped, dismissed as the Navy is no longer interested in the German submarines. Instead, the Navy has stepped into build the nation's first indigenously built nuclear submarine, which will be built by the Navy's PNEC nuclear engineers, assisted by the civilian PAEC's nuclear engineers and scientists.[64]
The X-Craft submarines are charged with carrying out the mine laying, torpedo attacks, frogman operations and commando landing, roughly for special forces operations. Three submarines of this class are operated by the Navy.[citation needed] In 1985, the Italian Navy signed an understanding memorandum with the Navy and assisted the Navy to locally built these midget submarines.[67] The Italian defence contractor, the COSMOS, supervised the first construction of the submarine while other two were built by Pakistan.[67]
All of the Navy's submarines have been equipped with Anti-ship missile (AShM) which can be fired while submerged. The three submarines, the Khalid class, are equipped and capable of firing Exocet missiles, while the older Agosta 70A submarines have been equipped with United States Harpoon missiles. The PNS Hamza submarine has an AIP reactor, containing the MESMA Air Independent Propulsion system, while the PNS Khalid and PNS Saad were upgraded with the same MESMA AIP reactor system. The Navy also plans to integrate the Boeing Harpoon Block-II missile on to its Agosta-90B submarines; and the Agosta-90Bs are capable of firing Black Shark torpedo, an Italian made naval variant.
Since 2001, the Navy has been seeking to enhance its strategic strike and precision capability by developing naval variants of the Babur land attack cruise missile (LACM).[64] The Babur LACM has a range of 700 km and is capable of using both conventional and nuclear warheads.[64] Future developments of LACM include capability of being launched from submarines, surface combatants and aircraft.[64]
Since 1964, the submarines have been active with Pakistan Navy, and five active-duty diesel electric submarines and three midget submarines, MG110, are in SSGN command.[68]

Below is the day-by-day calendar of “theater openings”* in July, 2020. The big news is the release of “Hamilton” online at Disney Plus — and (less hyped) the “Freestyle Love Supreme” documentary on Hulu — but in truth Lin-Manuel Miranda’s shows are not all that’s exciting this month in the world of online theater — a world in which “online” and “theater” have been synonymous since physical theaters were shut down in March (though there are small signs this may be changing; see July 13). And most of the other shows don’t require subscriptions.
Among the scheduled delights are acclaimed plays by Pulitzer finalist Will Arbery (July 18) and MacArthur “genius” grant winner Samuel D. Hunter (July 11), as well as a new Richard Nelson Apple Family play (July 1) and a new documentary play about frontline medical workers by Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen, creators of The Exonerated and Coal Country (July 8.) There a couple of inventive substitutions for the usual summer theater festivals.
Since so many shows are being put together at the last minute — sometimes not announced until the very day of their launch .. and there also have been fairly frequent last-minute postponements/cancellations/replacements — I will be updating/filling in this preview guide every day, and highlighting the offerings each new day with the link up top. This calendar as of this moment offers a glimpse of what’s in store. Come back day by day for a better look.
Here are some ongoing series that have proven to be reliable sources of art and entertainment.
Four offer live performances (often called readings) of original plays: The Homebound Project Livelabs: One Acts from MCC Play-PerView Viral Monologues from 24 Hour Plays
Play-PerView makes an exception this month to its original plays with what counts as a coup — the live reading of the Pulitzer finalist play “Heroes of the Fourth Turning” (which was supposed to debut last month but was postponed, as were a good number of productions due to the Black Lives Matter protests.)
A fifth offers live readings of classics and recent favorites: Plays in the House, Stars in the House’s twice weekly matinees and now Plays in the House Teen Edition.
Three offer recordings of previous (glorious) stage productions.
Metropolitan Opera National Theatre at Home The Shows Must Go On from Andrew Lloyd Webber
For details about these and other ongoing series, check out my post Where To Get Your Theater Fix Online (which lists, for example, the many long-running online sites such as BroadwayHD and Marquee TV that offer video-capture recordings of shows that were on stage)
All performances are free unless otherwise noted, although almost all hope for a donation (either to themselves or to a designated charity.)
*My definition of theater for the purposes of this calendar generally does not extend to variety shows, cast reunions, galas, panel discussions, documentaries, classes, interviews — all of which are in abundance this month, many worth checking out. My focus here is on creative storytelling in performance. (I make an occasional exception for a high-profile Netathon, involving many theater artists.)
A reminder that this calendar lists when the shows “open.” Some are live and available only for that one performance. Others are available for a week or weeks afterward or longer.

SAIL 2017 - Enrico Zaccagni “Zacboats”, the classic yachts’ man - 2017
22 dicembre 2017 - Sailor, sailing instructor, divulger, lecturer, traveller, former president of the association Vele Storiche Viareggio, presently commodore and most of all counsellor for classic yachts. Since the end of 1990s the Florentine Enrico, ‘Chicco’, Zaccagni was involved in the restoration of countless important hulls that have made the history of yachting such as Alzavola, the 1924 ketch that belonged to Enrico’s family, Magda XIII, Delfino, Kipawa, Orianda, the Officine Panerai’s Eilean, Marga and Ganbare, the One Tonner countless time victorious. Everything begins at the age of nineteen , when... From Florence to Caribe Mr Zaccagni, Enrico in formal occasions, is known in the yachting world admiring his experience and competence, by the appellative of ‘Chicco’. The Florentine class 1951, first of five, at the young age of nineteen takes the charge and responsibility of Alzavola, a 21 meters 1924 ketch, built in England out of the finest Burmese teak planking. At the age of 27, only few exams far from graduation, he decides to abandon his studies of Naval Engineering to found the Centro Nautico Italiano of which he will be Secretary General until 1984. Furthermore he becomes member of the Italian Skipper International Association since its very foundation. At 30 he sets sail for Taiwan where, on behalf of the Clipper Club society, he curates the fitting out of four Eastern Vagabond, a little series of 12,80 to 14,20 meters length yachts designed and realized for long cruises. In 1984, after taking over the ownership of Alzavola from his family, Enrico fully dedicates himself to charter. The following year he successfully obtains the naval licence for pleasure yachts. This will be the beginning of twenty years of endless back and forth sailing from the Mediterranean to the Caribe. He works in collaboration with naval agencies and touristic associations such as the Gian Marco Borea d’Olmo’s Venturieri, shipyards and other operators of the field, he learns English, French, Spanish and studies meteorology with a particular focus on tropical meteorology. Sea tripper In between the 80s and the 90s Chicco Zaccagni races in many ocean races on board of classic and modern yachts so as to became well-know in the world of ocean racing and yachting clubs. He trains pleasure yachts’ sailors and commanders that, thanks to his experience, learn to work aboard and to interact with clients. From 1993 until 1999 he writes and broadcasts daily a weather forecast for the Caribbean Sea in Italian, French and Spanish. The latter will became known to sailors as the best meteorological reference for this basin. On top of that, between 1995 and 1998 he will provide meteorological forecasts for a fleet of more then 20 yachts sailing every year through the Atlantic Ocean. Zaccagni continues to engage time and energies to what will continue to be a definitely unique life. He translates into Italian, for the Publishing House “Sails”, a manual of theory, use and design of sails from Jeremy Howard-Williams. He will accomplish three Atlantic crossings and cover over 50.000 miles at sea. 1999 the birth of ‘Zacboats’ and the academic collaborations In 1997 Chicco Zaccagni supervises for Floating Village the reconstruction of Pandora, a 20 meters long motor-yacht launched in 1934. This is just the embryo of an activity of restoration supervisor and team manager that will develop in 1999 into Zacboats, a company specialized in consultancy, survey, project management and brokerage in the field of classic and traditional yachts. This was a new and important turn in its ‘sea men’ career. From the academic year 2001-02 and thanks to his knowledge background he will teach a class of “Yachting History and Classic Yachts Restoration” in quality of external professor at the Florence University of Architecture within the Department of Technology, Architecture and Design. Young students are fascinated by this world and in 2003 Zaccagni is the assistant supervisor of Mr. Marco Gungui’s Dissertation “ Hypothesis of industrial development n the restoration of historical watercrafts”. Meanwhile the collaborations with the University of Florence and the Department of Architectural Sciences of Geneva University continue. It is in 2016 that he will be a new assistant supervisor for Francesco Rocchetti’s Dissertation on the Restoration of Barbara, a 15,50 meters long Camper and Nicholson’s Yawl of 1923. The Classic Yachts Restorations In 1999, after 35 years in the Zaccagni family, the ketch Alzavola passes onto a new roman ship owner and is transported by cargo from the Caribe to Livorno. From here the boat will reach Viareggio, where in Del Carlo’s boatyard it will be dismantled and completely restored. Mr Zaccagni is entrusted with the direction of the restoration works. Among the interventions we count the reconstruction of the iron floors and the substitution of 20% of the oak frames. Thereafter, in occasion of the most important classic yachts rallies, the boat will be able to get back on the races’ fields. From that moment onwards for Chicco Zaccagni starts a restless engagement in the recovery of many classic hulls. Here below follows a list of the crafts whose restoration works where directed by him both in the Viareggio boatyard Del Carlo and Pezzini and in others shipyards as Fiumicino’s Tecnomar or Castiglioncello’s Cantiere Luciano Gavazzi. · Magda XIII (1937) - 23 mt. · Windswept (1936) - 16,50 mt. · Don Quixotte (1933) - 11,50 mt. · Tesse (1963) - 10,50 mt. · Mopi (1953) - 9,90 mt. · Delfino (1940) - 14,80 mt. · Kipawa (1937) - 16,80 mt. · Ganbare (1973) - 10,80 mt. · Orianda (1938) - 23 mt. · Ojalà (1973) - 11 mt. · Eilean (1936) - 22,30 mt. · Oenone (1935) - 13,50 mt. · Marga (1910) - 15,50 mt. · Nocturne (1935) - 18,80 mt. · Agostina (1946) – 10 mt. Moreover Zaccagni is a member of the Italian Association of Historical Yachts (AIVE), as well as part of the Association of Yachting Historians. After a ten-years presidency, since 2015 he is now Vele Storiche Viareggio’s Commodore. The on-going restorations : Barbara, Tirrenia II, The Spray, Tonino and Astarte No year passes without major restoration works for Chicco to direct. In this period Mr. Zaccagni is following the return to the sea of five crafts. Barbara is a Bermudian yawl built in 1923 by the English boatyard Camper & Nicholsons. The 15 meters long boat belonged in the past to the founder of the Dom Pérignon label. Since 2015 the yacht is in the Del Carlo boatyard, where it will be officially launched Saturday the 19th of May 2018. In that day, whoever wishes to, will be allowed to witness the ceremony of the launch at Viareggio’s boatyard in Darsena Italia. The same day at Del Carlo’s boatyard you will be able to admire two other crafts: the classical 1914 gaff ketch Tirrenia II, 18,80 meters long, already protagonist of many historical yachts rally in the Mediterranean sea; and the Spray, a motorsailor rig as a Bermudian ketch of 16,20 meters length which was launched in 1961 by the Picchiotti boatyard under drawings of Franco Anselmi Boretti. And finally Tonino of 1911 and Astarte of 1907, both famous first rule 10 Metre racers, already under restoration at the Fiumicino’s Tecnomar boatyard. The awards and editorial collaborations Many are the “on-field merits” obtained during the years by Chicco Zaccagni. In 2002 he won the Best Restoration Prize for Windswept during Le Vele D’Epoca of Imperia meeting and in 2003 the Yacht Digest Award. He won the same prize in 2004 for the restoration works of Alzavola, followed by the 2005 Oscar for the Best Restoration assigned to Mopi in occasion of the Livorno Accademia Navale’s Trophy. He obtained others awards for his works on Kipawa and Delfino. In 2015 the prestigious English magazine Classic Boat awarded him for the best restoration of the year with Marga. His articles and critical reviews were published on Yacht Digest, Yachting World, Via Mare, Yachting Quarterly and Barche d’Epoca e Classiche. Moreover he wrote a chapter of the book “Yachts Restoration” edited by the Department of Architectural Sciences of the Genova University. And with its free time? We could say… “of sea and land”. Zaccagni indeed loves sailing, scuba diving, collecting books and classical yachting documents, listening to classic music and… of course finding mushrooms.
