could i request a fluffy blurb of rockstar eddie taking sephy on her first holiday when shes a baby 🥹
ofc love <3 anything for you!!
"She's a tiny little thing, ain't she?" Wayne hummed, cradling his granddaughter in his arms, propped up on his thighs so he could look at her.
Persephone was two months now, still tiny and growing into her features, but old enough she didn't do the little newborn scrunch. When she'd stopped, it had made Eddie unexplainably emotional. He'd pouted all day with her in his arms, moping about how she "was growing up too quick already".
The vacation had been Eddie's idea. To go out to the Laguna Beach house, not too far but away enough for privacy. Out of the city and out of your house, where you'd cooped yourself up for the first few weeks of being new parents. Both of you were too scared to take her out, the paparazzi alone made Eddie want to keep her inside, and the car was a whole other thing. Yet somehow you'd agreed to go a few hours up the road, the first car ride with baby Seph, and with Wayne of course. He'd agreed far too easily to come stay with you for a while, help the two of you out while you adjusted.
"She's gained a pound." Eddie said proudly, beaming from his place by the open windows, the soft crashing of the waves was lulling Persephone to sleep after her feeding. It must've sounded like her sound machine at home because she'd gone down so easily.
"Lookie there." Wayne beamed at you, eyes crinkling and shining when they met yours. "Told ya she'd be alright."
You had a brief panic a few weeks ago, worried that Persephone was too small, that she wasn't growing the way she should. Wayne assured you babies went through it, and why you trusted him, your nerves never settled. Until the doctor proudly announced that she's started to gain some weight. Just a pound but still, it was a victory to you.
"She eats enough I'm surprised it wasn't more." You giggled, looking down at your baby girl with pure adoration. The tiny faces she'd make even while sleeping- God, she was such Eddie's child. She was getting more expressive every day, wide eyes that would look around, just watching and taking in everything.
"Think she likes the sound of the water." Wayne nodded, thumb caressing her little fat cheek, grinning when she curled into his touch.
"Yeah," Eddie agreed, walking behind you, hugging you to his chest sweetly. You leaned back into him, your own hand finding his arm, stroking it gently.
"I'll go put her in her crib," Wayne stood slowly, shushing Sephy when her face crumbled, clearly upset about the movement.
"I got her." Eddie said quickly, stepping to take her from Wayne. "We're about to go unpack anyways, so I can put her in there."
Wayne nodded, a final look at his granddaughter before he passed her to Eddie gently, moving his hands so he supported her head. "If the two of you are gonna be a while, I'm gonna lay down." Wayne stretched slightly. "That drive was brutal."
You smiled, padding behind Eddie. "I think that's a good idea. The chef should be here later to make dinner. We'll see you later, Wayne." You went one way following Eddie and Wayne went the other.
Only, the two of you didn't sleep. Even two weeks ago, you would have been passed out on top of each other the second she was asleep, far too exhausted to do anything else. Now, maybe it was routine or comfortability, but you had grown used to not napping all the time. More well rested.
Persephone laid between the two of you, both of you watching her sleep. Every tiny baby yawn or stretch or squeak in her sleep had the two of you looking at each other, melting in adoration.
"Sometimes I just look at her, and it's like I can't even comprehend she's real." Eddie muttered, his finger tracing down the tufts of hair on her head, so soft and downy. "Like we made this. You carried her inside of you and now she's like a real thing that's here. Moves and breathes and eats and all."
You giggled lightly, reaching your own hand out to touch him, scratching at his scalp. "And poops and cries and bites my nipples off." You added playfully.
Eddie snorted in amusement, looking up at you. Your heart skipped, his eyes so sweet, so full of love that you thought you might melt under them. "You're fucking amazing, you know that?" Eddie muttered. "The best. Better than I deserve."
"Don't say that." You blushed.
"It's true. I never deserved you but now... You're so out of my fucking league it's not even funny. On a different level." Eddie admitted, his own hand reaching out to cradle your face.
You nuzzled into his touch, the ocean behind him making the most gorgeous scenery. Serene and peaceful and exactly what you needed to relax.
"You know you had a part in making her too." You gave him a pointed look. "Takes two."
"Yeah, but I had the easy part. You did all the heavy lifting." Eddie scoffed gently. "And I can't thank you enough. I really can't. You're just... you're the best person I've ever known." Eddie's eyes shined when they met yours, his jaw clenching with emotion. "And I've known a lot of people."
"And I'm the best?" You choked out, your own eyes watering. You'd blame it on your hormones still raging, though you knew better. Eddie always made your sappy and sweet like this, for no one else but him.
"The absolute fucking best. No competition." Eddie grinned. "I love you."
"I love you." You whispered back, leaning in over Persephone's head. He kissed you sweet, tender, much slower than he would have in his earlier years. It was all gnashing teeth and mean kisses to prove who was more in control. Not now, now he took his time, kissed you like you were his lifeline. To him, you were.
Eddie ended up opening the windows, sitting with Persephone on the balcony later when she was awake. Her in his arms, pushed against his chest so she could watch the water. You didn't have the heart to tell Eddie it all looked like blobs to her, so you sat next to him, head on his shoulder while he babbled away to her. The breeze from the water wrapped around you, comforting and thick, it made you relax finally.

CHICANO ART MOVEMENT visits: “Rasquachismo” 2024
On Saturday 05/11/24, we visited Huntington Beach Art Center to view “Rasquachismo” in the city of Huntington Beach, California.
Tumblr media
(“Beyond Timeless” by Justin Favela, 2022)
We learned from the mission statement that: “‘Rasquachismo,’ [is] a multi-media exhibition celebrating the aesthetics and transformative power of Lowriders. Featuring work by William Camargo with Alkaid Ramirez, Justin Favela, Stephanie Mercado, Arturo Meza Il, Aaron Moctezuma, Jose Manuel Flores Nava, Alicia Villegas-Rolon, and Cora J. Quiroz.”
Tumblr media
(“Anaheim in Flux” by William Camargo with Alkaid Ramirez, 2024)
“Emerging from the barrios of Southern California, lowriding brought forth a long resistance against the American Dream and dominant idealist norms that attempted to anglicize the young Chicanx individual. Forces of the Anglo-American culture did all it could to disrupt and omit the lowrider. From individual traffic stops to passing county-wide laws, all were attempts to take the lowrider off the streets. Low and slow, their metallic bodies transfigured in response. Now, unapologetically visible, lowriders glisten in candy-colored paint and dance with the aid of hydraulics. The power of lowriding extends beyond the car's aesthetics, however. It has become a rasquachismo expression of Mexican-American, and, eventually, Chicanx identity.”
Tumblr media
(“Highland Park” by Stephanie Mercado, 2023)
A favorite of Robert’s at the “Rasquachismo” exhibit was Stephanie Mercado’s “Highland Park.” Through a little research, we learned that “‘Highland Park’ honors the cultural richness of the area including its history, diversity, and its valuable contributions to the broader arts and culture sector of Los Angeles. Utilizing imagery and icons sourced from the neighborhood, this piece celebrates the enduring local landmarks and showcases the architectural diversity that defines the area. Simultaneously, it pays homage to the artists and art spaces that have played a vital role in making Highland Park a vibrant and lively neighborhood for generations.”
Tumblr media
(Detailed view of “We Can Dream” by Cora J. Quiroz, 2022)
From the museum ephemera, we learned that this painting entitled “We Can Dream” by Cora J. Quiroz is part of a series called “Not Your Typical Rosie.”
The artist states: “I paint women in a way that removes them from being acquiescent muses in typical artworks. From action, body language, and clothing, to expression, I ensure the women I paint have active roles of inspiration, movement, and storytelling. Raised by my mother, I learned about my family’s history through oral tradition. Rather than beng inspred by male-dominated stories in media, I became inspired by the Indigenous and Mexican women of my family, taking spaces where they were not expected.
The simplest acts typical for a man to perform, can often be taboo for women, such as working in the car industry. Despite this, for many years there have been women who have gone against the grain to become whoever they pleased to be, going beyond the WWII icon associated with strong women. These are the stories that inspire my work.”
(“El Cuento de los Panes: A Community Installation Inspired by Dr. Tomás Ybarra-Frausto” organized by the Exhibition Design students at Laguna College of Art and Design, 2024)
The exhibition statement shares that the term rasquachismo was “coined by Chicano scholar and art critic Tomás Ybarra-Frausto to describe ‘an underdog perspective, a view from los de abajo’ (from below) in working class Chicanx communities which uses elements of ‘hybridization, juxtaposition, and integration’ as a means of empowerment and resistance.”
The Huntington Beach Art Center presents “Rasquachismo” curated by Laura Black until June 1st, 2024 with their last programming event of an artist discussion is set for Saturday May 25th, 2024 from 1pm to 2:30pm.

You probably know that Mark Harmon is an actor. You may even know that he's a director.
But did you know that he's a writer too?
While Harmon shies away from saying he's an author, that's exactly what he is. He and co-writer Leon Carroll, Jr., who is a retired Special Agent in the real NCIS (Naval Criminal Investigative Service) as well as the technical director for the TV series "NCIS" for 21 years, have released their second book, "Ghosts of Panama," available now.
Tumblr media
If it's anything like the duo's first book "Ghosts of Honolulu," which landed them on the New York Times Best Sellers list, this one will be a hit.
"I like that people are enjoying the read, and they're buying the book. That's the gratification — that someone else finds this interesting," says Harmon, 73. "I like my partnership with Leon, and we're having a good time doing this."
"They've lived their whole lives doing this difficult job all over the world, and no one's ever asked about it because they couldn't talk about it."
Both of their books are non-fiction, telling actual stories from real cases. That's what the TV series did, at first, as well. But as more characters became part of the show, they needed to veer from actual cases so that each actor was included in the story.
Their first book required a lot of research, as it covered a case from World War II. With this new one, though, they interviewed people who had worked for the NIS/NCIS (Naval Investigative Service/Naval Criminal Investigative Services) and were directly involved in the investigation.
'Operation Just Cause'
"Ghosts of Panama" takes place just after a young U.S. Marine was killed in December 1989 at a checkpoint in Panama City while General Manuel Noriega's regime was in power. Under the code name "Operation Just Cause," NIS deployed agents to investigate.
"In this second book, Leon was there. All of these people we talked to are his contacts," says Harmon. "They've lived their whole lives doing this difficult job all over the world, and no one's ever asked about it because they couldn't talk about it. You might have lived next door to a special agent and not known it. But they're so pleased to be asked and have an opportunity to tell their version of a very personal part of their lives."
Harmon's Surprising Start
Just because Harmon is working on books doesn't mean that he's let acting go by the wayside. In fact, in the new show "NCIS Origins," he's served as the narrator.
After earning a degree in Communications from UCLA, Harmon was working as a shoe salesman. His late sister, Kristin, who had married Ricky Nelson, was the daughter-in-law of icon Ozzie Nelson. Mark knew him, but not through Kris.
"So I drove over to the studio, and Ozzie put me in a full gorilla suit."
Harmon had been a lifeguard at Laguna Beach and says that Ozzie was a long-distance swimmer.
"He would swim by my beach late in the afternoon way out there, and I learned that he wasn't in trouble. He would come back after his swim, and he'd sit under my tower and we would talk," recalls Harmon.
One day, Nelson called Harmon and said, "I have a walk-on part on the show. (It was "Ozzie's Girls," a spinoff of "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet" that lasted for just one season.) This person was supposed to do it and he just called in sick. I'm asking if you can come do it."
"He meant like right now!" says Harmon, while laughing.
He would be paid non-union scale, which was a little more than $300 in 1973. Harmon says, "I would have done just about anything for $300. So I drove over to the studio and Ozzie put me in a full gorilla suit."

I think Gen Z should watch Laguna Beach and The Hills and The City and bring back the early 2000s LA boho prep school style. I would like that.

i want to lay with you in a place a little inland from santa monica, maybe even marina del rey. it’ll be hot in los angeles and we’ll be blasting fans straight onto us because our apartment doesn't have AC. it doesn't have a whole lot (and neither do we), but it’s next to the liquor store and the shop we get our flowers. we've made friends with the people who work at the market.
it’s one of those kitschy, almost-dingbat apartments with only one bedroom, but we make the most of it. it’s painted peach on the outside and a few palm trees line the sidewalk. it smells faintly of cigarettes. we have orange juice in the fridge and plums on the table.
nfr is playing on vinyl, where it usually summers, and we are miserably hot but we’re together. you love to hate los angeles and i get a high being in the city that loves me with the boy i love. we listen to poetry, you play shows, i’m in the crowd, we read books together and go to new restaurants when they open. living is easy. we don’t work, we dont do anything. we just live day-by-day in the heavenly smog and indulge in the sloth necessary to be here.
i drag you around town sometimes and tell you the tales of jim morrison and sharon tate. we go to the beach whenever we want to, sometimes driving down to Newport and Laguna just because we can. basking in sun and history and architecture, we are so boringly happy here. i find beauty and joy in the spotted sidewalks and traffic, you enjoy the occasional chaos and unpredictability that comes with the lifestyle. we both take pictures of vintage cars we like when we’re out. as awful as the heat is, i think it's beautiful sitting in it with you.
you call me miss southern california herself when i ask what you want to do. everything is slow here but something is always happening and i love the way the city’s pace matches ours.
there’s always so much to do and nothing but time to do it.
- summertime, and the living's easy

Guimaras Loop
Day 3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We started the third and last day of our Guimaras trip with a tocilog breakfast and coffee. One of the highlights of that morning was my friend saying that he liked my pants and the shorts that I wore for Day 2. I proudly told him that I bought them from ukay. It was a simple comment yet enough to make me so happy because I rarely buy clothes. My sister and mother always say that I am too stingy, but I like to say I am living a frugal life. I never really cared about how I look because nobody notices it anyway when I try my hardest to dress nicely. So even it was just my pants and not my looks (hahaha!), I took and embraced the compliment.
Tumblr media
Our first stop that day was the wind farm in the town of San Lorenzo.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I never imagined wind turbines to be so overwhelmingly huge! While I'm at it, I hope people (including myself sometimes, unintentionally) will stop misusing the term "megalophobia" to refer to humongous objects or any word with "-phobia" unless they are clinically diagnosed or their condition is consistent with an anxiety disorder.
Tumblr media
Our next stop was the Fatima Farm. This is the one place that I would strongly recommend because of the relaxing views and affordable rates for accommodation and various activities. It's a shame that the only picture I took was of floral buds of this water lily. I was saving the battery power of my camera because I forgot to charge them before we left Punta Punting.
It was after our Fatima Farm stopover, while traversing Buenavista and then back to Jordan, when I felt a sharp pain in my left foot. I knew right away it was my sprained ankle. I couldn't enjoy the sinigang na pasayan and sisig during lunch at Toribia's Place in Jordan because of the pain. We had to stop at a nearby pharmacy to buy bandage and pain reliever. The video was taken by my friend when we went back to Trappist to buy coffee.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We wanted to go to Balaan Bukid as well but couldn't because of my condition. We decided that it was time to go home. It was the right decision to go home early because it took an hour before we could board the ship. Many people were traveling back to Iloilo City since it was a Sunday.
Back in Iloilo City, we stopped at a Jollibee drive thru before I was fetched to the bus terminal. When my friends left, they told me I forgot my Tanduay Ice in the car. But it was okay because I brought with me beautiful memories of being with dear friends before I go back to Laguna.

reality tv cast
The City Never Sleeps (title pending, please suggest names), is a new reality show set in NYC that follows a group of socialites and up-and-coming people. Think Laguna beach without the beach vibes and a little bit KUWTK. Most everyone on the show is from a well-off family and has money to blow and live for the drama. character one // early to mid 20's // female castmate // best or really good friends with japser // enjoys pushing buttons // is but isn't a girls girl // is going to attend lucas arian's bachelor party instead of cecilia's bachelorette to ruffle feathers, flirt, or both // is new to the show this season and has no problem making a name for herself.
character two // mid 20's // male cast mate // close friends with cecilia acevedo + they vacationed together a bit when she started to grow traction on social media // up in the air whether they hooked up in the past // has their eye on bambi or jasper and has been talking up the situation with ceci aka let's stir the pot a little more.
character three // early to mid 20's // male castmate // dating an ex of one of the castmates already on the show // doesn't care if it's awkward brings them about for cameos // maybe they did it on purpose and don't really care about boundaries after all it's reality tv.
early to mis 20s / KUWTK vibes / open faces / lots of drama
platonic / mixed ➤ reality tv cast
