Challenges faced by chauffeur service from the tourism sector
Recent changes in the tourism sector have made it necessary for businesses to utilize vehiclesmore frequently. Around the world, several tourism businesses offer services where visitors use autos for transportation or sightseeing.
Owners of tourist-related businesses have been able to expand their operations through creative business strategies thanks to profit and company growth in every field. Because they have the following advantages, tourism firms today choose to utilize automotive services.
Rivalry with Ride-Sharing Apps: Traditional London To Stansted Chauffeurs are now under intense competition from ride-sharing firms. These applications frequently provide cheaper rates and more practical booking choices, which might entice travelers away from conventional cabs.
Rules and regulations: Manchester Chauffeur Services are governed by several laws, including those about licensing, insurance, and fares. For vehicle firms, navigating these rules may be difficult, and legislative changes may affect their productivity and financial success.
Technology Adoption: Traditional Chauffeur Service London may have a difficult time incorporating new technology, such as GPS monitoring, online reservation services, and mobile payment alternatives, which can enhance the customer experience and compete with ride-sharing applications.
Price Sensitivity: Travelers, especially those on a tight budget, are frequently price-conscious. In certain tourist locations, vehicle costs can be rather expensive, therefore travelers may choose less expensive modes of transportation, including walking or public transit.
Language obstacles:Vehicle drivers may run into language obstacles in locations with a wide variety of visitors, which might cause miscommunication or misunderstandings. The whole visitor experience may be impacted by this.
Seasonal fluctuations: These are common in the tourism industry, with peak and off-peak seasons. Demand for Chauffeur Service In Birmingham may vary throughout the year, making it difficult to maintain a steady income.
Safety Issues: Travelers in some locations can worry about the safety of utilizing vehicles, particularly if they are unfamiliar with the area. Tourists have occasionally been overcharged, led on longer journeys, or encountered illegal vehicle drivers.
Environmental Concerns: Some visitors may favor ecologically friendly modes of transportation. Traditional vehicles, which frequently operate on gas or diesel, might not fit these standards.
Traffic congestion: In well-known tourist areas, vehicle services may face serious difficulties due to traffic congestion. Longer travel times and disgruntled consumers may result from traffic delays.
Ride Quality and Vehicle Condition: Chauffeur Service Birmingham might be in a broad range of conditions. Poorly maintained or unpleasant vehicle rides for certain visitors may hurt how they see the area.
Payment Options: It might be difficult for some Chauffeur Service Heathrow to accept a range of payment options, such as credit cards and mobile payments. Because they are more convenient and secure, tourists may favor cashless payment methods.
Ride-Sharing Regulation: To provide a fair playing field for conventional vehicle firms, certain tourist locations have put limitations or rules on ride-sharing services. Enforcing these laws, though, can be difficult.
Vehicle services in the tourism industry may need to adapt by enhancing customer service, adopting technology, adhering to laws, and providing competitive pricing and value-added services to remain competitive and handle these issues. Additionally, vehicle firms may better serve tourist demands and improve the entire visitor experience by working with tourism agencies and neighborhood businesses.

Top Qualities You Should Look For In A London City Airport Taxi
When it comes to traveling, whether it be for business or pleasure, finding reliable transportation is crucial. In a bustling city like London, it can be overwhelming to navigate the various modes of transportation available. One option that many travelers choose is taking a taxi from the airport to their destination. However, not all taxis are created equal, and it's important to know what qualities to look for in a London city airport taxi to ensure a safe and comfortable journey.
Punctuality and On time Help Reduce stress
The first quality to look for in a London city airport taxi is punctuality. Time is of the essence, and it's important to find a taxi service that will pick you up on time and get you to your destination promptly. This is especially important when arriving at the airport, as delays can cause you to miss connecting flights or important meetings. Look for a London Airport taxi service with a reputation for punctuality, and consider booking in advance to ensure your ride is waiting for you when you arrive.
Professional and Friendly Driver makes your Ride Comfortable
A professional taxi driver will be polite, courteous, and respectful. They should know the city well and be able to answer any questions you may have about the area. Look for a driver who is well-groomed, wears a clean uniform, and has a well-maintained vehicle. A professional driver should also be familiar with airport procedures and be able to assist with luggage if needed. Traveling can be tiring, and a comfortable taxi ride can make all the difference. Look for a Airport Transfers service that provides comfortable seating and air conditioning, especially during hot summer months. Some taxi services even offer amenities like Wi-Fi or phone chargers, which can be especially helpful if you need to work or stay connected during your journey.
No Compromise on Safety
Safety is paramount when it comes to traveling, and a London city airport taxi should have safety as a top priority. The vehicle should be well-maintained and regularly serviced to ensure it is in good working condition. The driver should also be experienced and have a good driving record. Look for a taxi service that provides child seats or booster seats if needed, and ensure that the driver is aware of any special needs you may have.
Reliable London City Airport taxi Services
Reliability is crucial when it comes to transportation, and a London city airport taxi should be dependable. Look for a taxi service with a good reputation for reliability, and consider reading reviews from previous customers to get an idea of their experiences. A reliable UK taxi service should be able to accommodate any changes to your travel plans, such as flight delays or early arrivals.
Competitive Pricing
Traveling can be expensive, and finding a taxi service for Heathrow Airport that offers competitive pricing can help keep your expenses down. Look for a taxi service that offers transparent pricing and does not have hidden fees. Consider comparing prices from different taxi services to find the best deal.
Good Knowledge of the Local Area
London is a sprawling city with many different neighborhoods, and a taxi driver should be familiar with the area they are driving in. Look for a driver who knows the fastest and most efficient routes to your destination, and who can also provide recommendations for restaurants, attractions, and other places to visit in the area.
Excellent communication skills are very helpful
When you hire a private car from Heathrow to London, you expect a smooth and hassle-free ride. However, if the driver lacks excellent communication skills, the journey can quickly turn into a nightmare. The driver should possess the ability to communicate effectively and understand your instructions to ensure a comfortable and safe ride. Excellent communication skills are crucial for the driver to understand your needs and preferences. For instance, if you have a specific route in mind, the driver should be able to follow your instructions and take you to your destination without any confusion. Additionally, if you encounter any issues during the ride, you need a driver who can communicate with you and resolve the problem efficiently. Therefore, when hiring a private car, ensure that the driver has excellent communication skills to ensure a smooth and comfortable ride.

The Wonder Twins Universe
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —
Saying goodbye to everyone at Meadow Park has been the hardest thing you’ve ever done. While walking around the place for the last minutes as an Arsenal player you can’t help but to remember about the first time you got your yellow card all because of Katie McCard, the memories of the North London derby games, the memories of Kim getting mad because of your pranks and finally the memory of the moment when you and Leah made your debut for the senior team.
It was 4 pm when you got a notification.
¡BREAKING NEWS! After being an important part of England’s winning Euros team y/n Willamson is joining her fellow lionesses Lucy Bronze and Keira Walsh to FC Barcelona!
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —
It’s been two hours since Arsenal communicated to world about your transfer and you couldn’t be happier. Finally it was happening, you were going to play for your dream club FC Barcelona. You were going to miss your friends, the coaching staff and your twin but you couldn’t wait to start your new adventure.
You will always be grateful to Arsenal for helping you to be the player and the person that you are today but more importantly you will forever be grateful to them for giving your twin her home, her family and for helping her to fulfill her dreams.
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —
“y/n do you have everything? Your passport, your ticket, your charger?! Here take this, it’s a pen you’ll never know if you need one” Leah asked you with a frantic voice while giving you the pen
“Don’t worry if she needs anything we will help her, everything is under control Lee” Keira said while trying to calm down her best friend
“Lucy is going to pick us up at the airport, everything has been planned Lee”
From the moment that you guys woke up Leah had been running everywhere making sure that everything was perfect. She took you to the airport 3 hours before your flight to Barcelona.
Lucy had closed her transfer to Barcelona before you and Keira so she had been already in the city for two weeks, preparing everything for your and her girlfriend’s arrival.
You were going to be Wonze’s third wheel for a couple of days until the club gave you the keys to your new apartment and you wouldn’t be lying if you said that it gave you comfort staying your first days at Barcelona with some familiar faces. Moving to a new city was scary but fulfilling your dream was worth it.
“Lee I have everything I need, please don’t worry. Everything will turn out perfect” You said while hugging your sister.
“I know, it’s the first time that we will be living separately. I’m scared to live alone but I’m happy for you sis. Your talent deserves to be recognized ” Leah whispered to your ear as if she didn’t wanted her best friend to hear
You separated yourself from your sister, linked your pinky fingers and said “Remember Lee wherever we are we will always be the wonder twins”
“The wonder twins forever”
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —
Noise there was noise everywhere but it was expected as it was an airport.
“y/n do you have all your luggage? Lucy is outside waiting for us” Keira told you as you picked up your luggage.
“Yep, everything is here Kei”
With everything in your hands you guys started walking towards the exit where Lucy was waiting. You guys looked around until you heard a spanish sentence said by an English accent.
“¡Bienvenidas a Barcelona chicas!”
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —
Two days later you were dressed in a suit as it was the day when you were going to sign your new contract, take photos with your new kit and when you were going to meet your new teammates.
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —
You couldn’t believe it you had already meet Jonatan, signed your contract and you were walking towards the locker room to change into a Barcelona’s kit
As soon as you entered the locker room you heard the unmistakable voice of Lucy Bronze.
“y/n I’m so glad that you joined us! Playing against you is a headache, I’m lucky that we are part of the same national team and now part of the same club ”
“Everyone this is the y/n Williamson. 1/2 of the wonder twins”
After that a blond girl with tattoos, who eventually would become your partner in crime, came over you.
“Encantada de conocerte y/n soy Mapi y esta es mi novia Ingrid! I have to admit that the game that you did against us during the Euros and that pass to Stanway for the goal were magnificent !” Mapi told you while Ingrid waved at you.
Mapi took you around the locker room to meet each one of the girls. At the end she took you to your new cubby.
“And here is your cubby, number 12. Between la capitana who isn’t here because she is in rehab and Cata one of our goal keepers!”
(Let’s imagine that Patri’s number is 17)
Mapi and the team left the locker room as they had training, you would join them tomorrow but today you had to take media photos.
After you changed of clothes you took a moment and looked around. You finally made it, you were officially part of your dream team, you were lost in your thoughts taking everything in until a voice interrupted you.
“You look really great with our blaugrana kit. Welcome to the team y/n! I can’t wait to play with you”
You turned around and saw the most beautiful brown eyes that you had ever seen, the Balon d’or winner and your new captain. The one and only Alexia Putellas.
“Hola y/n. I’m the team’s captain Alexia, if you need anything please just tell me y/n!”
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —
I just wanted to say thak you to everyone! It was my first story and I did not know what to expect when it got published.
I never imagined to recieve such a positive feedback from everyone! By popular demmand is why Barca was chosen as the new team.
If you guys have any ideas don't be shy and share them. Part 3 might take some days but I plan to continue writing for the wonder twins universe.

AIRPORT TIERLIST OF AIRPORTS I’VE BEEN THROUGH FROM SOMEONE WHO FUCKING LOVES AIRPORTS
S TIER:
- MCO Orlando. My love my queen. Platonic ideal of airports. All the other airports wanna be her.
- MSY New Orleans - I have only seen your beautiful face once but your vibes were just impeccable. I miss you beautiful
A TIER:
- LHR London Heathrow - you’re so chill and sweet to be such a major airport. Weirdly calming somehow. Sterile, but the big boy of London airports. When you’re here you’re in London. Smells like joy.
- CDG Charles DeGaulle Paris. Dripping in stunning retro futurism and has a Concorde on stands by the runway. We love her
- DCA Ronald Reagan Washington DC. So pretty. So clean. So easy to navigate. Prevented from S tier status by being one long skinny thing with no way to get quickly across it.
B TIER:
- DEN Denver Colorado. Architecture for the gods but somehow the vibes are off. I’d fly through you again happily but I don’t feel especially warm when I think of you.
- FLL Fort Lauderdale - Hollywood. You’re permanently attached to very warm memories for me because of the trip I took from you but you’re just kind of there. Vibes are off. Meh.
- ORD Chicago O’hare. Aesthetic perfection but weirdly stressful. While I had a great time on this trip I do not think warmly of the airport other than the rainbow lighting. Jules got yelled at here. -10 points.
- CLE Cleveland Ohio. Another airport that is home of warm memories due to loved ones but just really not the vibe as an airport.
C TIER:
- LGW London Gatwick. I don’t like you for no reason. Like a disappointment, you’re in London but not at Heathrow for some reason.
- PHL Philadelphia. Again, weird aimless dislike. I cannot justify.
- BNA Nashville. Meh. Fine, which may be the worst insult I can lob at an airport.
D TIER:
- LGA New York LaGaurdia. Fuck you and your tiny spirit terminal in the middle of nowhere and your hard to access rental cars and your poor road signage that sent me round and round on the New York interstate in my rented Corolla. The bigger terminals are pretty though, and anyway. New York City!
E TIER:
JAX Jacksonville. Ew.
F TIER:
BOS Boston Logan International Airport. I loathe you. Less busy numerically than ATL and yet somehow even more spread out. Signage is bad. Directions unclear. Nothing makes sense in this alternate reality. Labyrinthine building designed by the god Hades. Never again would be too soon.
UNTIERABLE:
ATL - Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta. The biggest and busiest airport in the world. When you buy a ticket on Delta a box pops up that says “by buying this ticket you agree to see the inside of Hartsfield Jackson Airport.” Not actually a real place, but a floating parallel dimensional space you enter when you walk through the doors. When you get off the Plane Train at terminal D a sign to the left points down a hallway and says “Walk to Terminal E. Time: 45 minutes.” Bigger than many cities and some European principalities. And sometimes you’ll be forced to run clear across it when your gate gets changed. Send every domestic flight that goes near it and many that don’t through it for a completely unnecessary 45 minute layover and sautée until golden brown to birth this unholy god of a space outside all time. They have CPR training machines. They have bathrooms too rarely. They have a whole other airport underneath for international transfers. Don’t die before you see it. Everyone should, at least once. 🎶Welcome Aboard the Plane Train!🎶 next stop: the 4th circle of hell. Walk to purgatory: 45 minutes. Moving sidewalk out of order.

London Memories - A three days story
As my moots and my friends know, I've been in a bad place lately, mentally and physically, and last Friday, I exploded.
Now, after many many hours of conversation and a therapy session, I have experienced what they call a 'depression meltdown'. I'm not going to share the details mostly because I did not recall living through the events of that Friday. Everything went black and when I woke up the next day I found out I had planned, I mean flights, hotel, bus transfer from and to the airport and a theatre ticket, to London.
As my friends know, London is my HEIMAT. I've been there three times this year and yet the last fourth one was not actually planned as I imagined. I have to say tho that I did a great job in organising the three days and the events and everything. Also, it was not the perfect time for a trip but the 'damage' was already done so I decided to, I'd like to say 'embrace the moment and be happy' but, I cried till the day of the departure and when landed in London something happened.
My brain went quiet. I was starting to feel present again, like in the moment. I even put some music on. I hadn't been able to listen to music for at least a week or two before the meltdown. Not even to cope with external sensory issues.
I started to feel like me again. I could finally see myself, in the mirror, with my own eyes, through my crowded thoughts.
I was able to write! I began a story that I'd to see as a picture book.
In the hotel room, I actually find my space, mental and physical, to be me. I was able to take care of some other aspects of my life that I'm finding quite challenging in this period of time.
I took so many walks. The cold air was refreshing and 'cooled' down my brain. I definitively function much better there, that's a fact.
vaya chapa jaja I don't know how to translate that lol
I'd like to share here some happy moments cause WTF I actually saw David Tennant!
First of all the weather! I love gloomy days but this, this was a surprise! A pleasant welcome
The walks. My feet still hurt but I'm so happy!
I don't know if you ever visited this street but knowing that was an inspiration to Wickber Street in the series I understand why the Aziraphale chose this location for its bookshop. It's crowded with all sorts of people from all over the world. You can, and that's what I like to do, sit in a coffee shop and just observe them. Observe life passing by.
This was in Tavistock Square, IYKYK. Here I had a strange encounter with a squirrel. I was taking this picture when turning around I saw a little creature in front of me. We looked into each other eyes and the (silent) conversation was something down the line:
Human (aka me): oh shit! Sorry. Hi little you.
Little creature (aka the squirrel): Uh they so me. Ehm. Act normal.
Human (aka me): *moving to the left*
Little creature (aka the squirrel): *does the same*
Human (aka me): Oh sorry. *is this the most English thing I've ever experienced* *moving to the right*
Little creature (aka the squirrel): Oh shit. Act normal. Maybe I should stop staring at them. *moving to the right*
Human (aka me): Please, after you. *stop moving and gesturing with the hand to let the creature pass by*
Little creature (aka the squirrel): *keeps staring staringly* Ok this was strange. Bye human. *runs*
Human (aka me): That was odd! *walks away but then turns around*
Little creature (aka the squirrel): *does the same*
FIN
and they live happily ever after, I guess lol
This is Hyde Park. Walk kicking the leaves was a child's dream! I felt like a 5 yo. I had a second encounter with a squirrel that thought I had food in my hand but I just wanted to say hi, so they sniffed it and hopped away with their fluffy tail.
I love buses! They're the perfect decompression place for me and an optimal observation deck from which to admire the city. I spot this one outside the Peacock Theatre. I don't know what was it for but the words 'To Our World' came to my mind immediately.
The British Library. This is the place where I can write. This is the place for my stories to come alive, for my pen to dance on the pace, for my thoughts to be free to walk before my eyes and tell me what they want to experience. This is the place in which my brain goes quiet. Entering this place it's like having a wee free man in my head that finally decides that it's time to tidy up the room, organize their books, iron their kilt, rearrange the furniture for better comfort, light the fireplace, make some hot tea, bake some lemon biscuits and singing out of tone Scottish songs. That's how my brain felt there.
If you are wondering, my wee free man's hair is red as hell and up in a messy bun.
THE NIGHT aka Macbeth!
I still can't believe I saw David Tennant!
The play was amazing, from the cast to the minimalist stage, the music, the light. Everything was perfect!
I had the chance to just ramble and say thanks for the autograph!
A little video of the moment he signed my copy and me being absolutely out of my body.
The Harold Pinter Theatre was a special place!
and that's the end. The last pic. A magical place in which, every time, I make a promise to myself, to be present, to hold on to that dream, to be strong and to forgive myself when I'm not, to keep writing, to keep seeking help, to rest when possible and to take good care of the body I'm in.
Till the next adventure!
Bonus content, I guess.
I took this photo and is it me or this hand is the Duke of hell's hand? Hands lovers do with it what you like.

I've told her I can't be there because I have late training but I lied because I want to surprise her I've had help from a few of her team mates to pull this off
It's 2 pm and I need to be at el parat de liobeegat aeropuerto ( I don't know if that is how you spell it I hope that it is if it's not tell me and I will change it ) at 2:30 pm Lucy is dropping me off at the airport so I don't have to leave my car there
2:10 pm
My phone pings it's a message from Lucy
Bronze
Hey I'm out side
Y/n
K give me a minute and I will be down
I throw the bag over my shoulder and lock the door rushing down the stairs and to the street I see Lucy parked out in front of my apartment building i open the door and sit next to her the air port is only about 10 minutes away I know I'm pushing it with the time and all but let's hope I catch my flight to France
Time skip to getting off the plane ( because I don't know what to write for that )
I walk off the plane and get out the building it's fucking cold I get in the nearest taxi and ask him to take me to the train station it's about 20 minutes away from the airport I get out thank the taxi driver then sit for the next train which is about 30 minutes out
Time skip the train
It's now 6:12 pm the train was a bit late but it's ok I'm only going to miss the first few minutes of the game I see Jen standing at the exit of the train station we hug then get in the car we get there about 6 minutes after kick off we go to the friends and family section I try to hide so she can't see me
In the 39th minute Cloé Lacasse scores the first goal of the game the In extra time Kim gets a goal 2-0 at half time I talk to some people that are there until the start of the second half
57th minute Cloé Lacasse gets another goal 65th minute Viv Leah get subbed on 74th minute Russo scores a goal the game ends 4-0
At the end the girls sine a few tops get pictures taken the they come over to us Viv see me and jogs over to me she crashes her lips in to mine for a moment then we hug each other tight I'm still a bit shocked that she kissed me in front of people usually she doesn't like to but I guess since we haven't seen each other for 4 months she missed me and I missed her she pulls back form the hug
" you told me you couldn't come because you had training " I bring my hand up to her face and move some of her hair from her Beautiful face I look in to her Bluey Gary eyes " I know I said that but I wanted to surprise you "
She gets called over for a press thing after she was done every she got her stuff and we went to her apartment
Skip to the apartment Viv was making food I was setting up the movie when she was done we eat over food and watched lady and the tramp after the movie was done I went to the bathroom and started a bath I let it fill up i light some candles turn off the light and call viv in we take off our clothes and get In she was behind me and we just sat and talked I look back at her and the only thing I could thing of is " I want to spend the rest of my life with this woman "

To recap the last two days
4th of December. We know there's some problems with snow in Munich but our travel agency told us it's fine and that the worst that can happen is the entire flight being rerouted to a different city in Germany. We have a 2h taxi transfer to the airport and arrive at 11am. We check in and are told the connecting flight from Munich to Hannover was cancelled but that we can get a later flight the same day. It would be a 6h hour layover but it would be fine. We go through security. The timetable says something like "gate info in 217 mins" and I'm like surely that's a typo. We figure out the scheduled gate where someone tells us the Lufthansa website says the flight is delayed by 20 mins. We check the airport website and it says it's delayed by 3h. There's absolutely no one at the gate. A couple minutes later I refresh the page and the flight status is changed to cancelled. At the same time I get an email with a job rejection. Still no one at the gate. 20 minutes later someone confirms the cancellation and we all have to check out and go through security again and leave the airport then get told to simply call or email the airline and we all have a budget of 150€ for one day per person for a taxi and hotel and food. Which we all have to sort out ourselves. Lufthansa cannot be reached by phone, mail or chat bot because they're completely swamped with complaints. Our travel agency doesn't even know our flight is cancelled. We wait for almost 3h for our travel agency to find a new flight for us - which they couldn't book remotely - and we're told that a hotel is still our responsibility. We're told to find a Lufthansa office which doesn't exist and only by chance figure out where to go. We go inside the airport again at 4pm and physically stand in a queue until 9pm without food or water or the possibility to sit down - even though my mum has a mobility issue - until we can reschedule our flight. There's two people sharing one computer handling every single case. Two people were allowed to cut in line but I was told off for asking a question. Some people had to accept 4am flights through Serbia and one couple was told the only option was to fly to Greece and from there to Munich even though the company was aware the flight would be cancelled again and they'd just get stuck in a second country. We book a hotel afterwards and arrive there at 10pm. We order food online since their kitchen is already closed.
5th of December. We get up at 4am and are back at the airport at 6am. We're wearing the same clothes since we only packed for a week and have no clean shirts or underwear or anything. We drink a bad coffee, buy a croissant and board an airplane to London at 8:35am with half an hour delay. I have a middle seat. The business class is half empty with several people taking a whole row to stretch out and sleep while we know there's still other people stuck in Cyprus who were told this flight was full. The flight is 5h long. My mum has a high risk of thrombosis and no access to medication. We get a single bottle of water and a flapjack. At some point I try to go to the bathroom and am told to quickly go back to my seat and fasten my seat belt because we're about to experience heavy turbulence. A stewardess walks through the aisles saying the same. I panic. Absolutely nothing happens. Zero turbulence. By the time we're allowed to stand up again there's 6 people in the bathroom queue before me and I'm told I'm not allowed to stand in the aisle and have to wait at my seat. By the time I sit down other people have already joined the queue again. At some point the purser in the business class takes pity on me and I'm allowed to use the business class bathroom. We fly two time zones West and arrive at 11am (mentally 1pm) starving and with aching legs. We have to go through security again and have to throw away our water. My mum gets randomly selected for a security check. The airport is busier than I've ever seen it and I've been at Heathrow multiple times each year when I studied in England. People are inconsiderate and even aggressive. We eat a sandwich and try to buy some painkillers. Our layover is another 5h. An hour before our flight I suddenly get a panic attack that gives me muscle spasms and I just about manage to board the plane. By the time we board I have to pee really badly because I downed an entire bottle of coconut water to get my blood circulation back up after the panic attack. We have a half hour delay because there's unfinished paperwork. Another middle seat. I get up to go to the bathroom as soon as we reached cruising height and use the bathroom at the front of the airplane because they didn't close the business class curtains and I know they sometimes don't bother on this short flight. When I come back the curtains are drawn and I'm told off for crossing the curtains. We land at just after 7pm German time because of the delay in the third time zone of the day. We arrive home at 8pm.

Ok imagine casually dating Mase for a few months and you visit him in Manchester for the first time. You’ve been exclusive for a while but really want him to take the next step. He plans a whole weekend with you since he has more free time due to his injury, and is super sweet showing you around his new city 🥹 the last night he surprises you with a private rooftop dinner and officially asks you to be his girlfriend
yes yes yes this is so cute, maybe you have some mutual friends so knew each other for a while but only started to get to know him just before the transfer. You went on a few dates before he moved up north and definitely both really liked each other so agreed to keep seeing each other, but since you still live in the london area it’s been hard to see him. Maybe you’ve got a long weekend off work and since he’s injured and has got a lot more free time he invites you up for the weekend, offering to pay for a plane or train ticket for you from london but you drive up instead, not minding the long drive and not wanting to to put him out by having to collect you from the airport/train station.
The day you arrive would be so chill, not really feeling like going out after driving all morning and he’s more than happy to just spend some time at home with you, ordering a takeaway a watching a movie which inevitably leads to loads of cuddles and sweet touches.
The rest of the days are full of the two of you catching up and enjoying your time together, whether it be at his house or out and about whilst he shows you around Manchester and you just have the best time together, feeling so content and comfortable in each others company that he just can’t help asking you to be his on the final night.
Like you mentioned, maybe you’re at a nice rooftop restaurant, a little more dressed up and enjoying a nice dinner together when he asks the question, and you’re a little bit unsure at first. Obviously you like him, a lot. He makes you feel so special and being with him already feels so different (in the best way possible) compared to other guys you’ve been with in the past, you’re falling for him and you’re falling fast. But the distance between London and Manchester scares you a little, you’re worried that it won’t work out between the two of you and you don’t want to get your heartbroken. But, you decide to say yes, knowing that what you have with him is too special to throw away and give up on without even trying. Plus, he’s going to be in the London area frequently anyway, visiting all of his family and friends (and now you) that still live there, and at the end of the day, the drive isn’t too bad, and it’s worth it knowing he’s waiting for you at your destination.
Overall it would just be the sweetest evening ever, and leaving to head home the next day is the last thing you want to do, but it’s made a little easier knowing you’ve already made plans to see him the next week, and you’re already counting down the minuets until you see him again.
#mason concepts#that was way longer than I intended it to be but I just couldn’t stop once I started typing haha

post-bourgeois transcendence
I was traveling back from Scandinavia through Frankfurt and it was at the airport that I was having a meal in the nearly empty restaurant ( there were only a few other customers) whilst waiting for the flight back to London. I had eaten breakfast in the hotel in Stockholm in the morning, but after the late morning meeting had traveled to the airport and failed to eat lunch because of all the rapid transfers from metro to train to plane. Here though in Frankfurt waiting for the next flight, I found that I had an enormous appetite and so was sitting at a table eating steak and frites, some salad and a Damson sorbet. On the table was a small glass vase with a small selection of flowers. Why would you put a vase of flowers on this small table I wondered for a moment, but the answer was obvious they dreamed of working in a city restaurant and were practicing. That was the boring everyday conclusion i came to. In the early evening I was drinking coffee and watching the planes taxi to the runway and take off. An hour long video call watching the planes over the screen. To see the world from an airport terminus is not merely to see it from afar but also to see it differently. Through the sheets of glass across the surface details of concrete, grass, terminals and satellite terminals, enormous hangers… the planes wait, the crew wait, the passengers wait, the freight waits. The airport spreads to the horizon, a housing estate. A man is skinning a small deer hanging from a tree in a garden, he is naked beneath his butchers apron. To leave this place and return home is pleasure. People are walking around loading luggage and cargo onto planes. They are working in the airport. .. The flight is called. I’m sitting ten rows back from the entrance, in front of it beyond the flight attendants working area is the business class seating. The doors gave duct tape over the cracked plastic. The plane taxis around on the runways and then with creams and roars rakes off. i can hear the wheels being stored. Ten minutes after taking off a woman nine rows in front of me starts groaning… They ask if anyone has medical skills, an accident and emergency sister from a London hospital, takes control. The medical kit is rusted shut. The flight staff are visibly relieved that the sister… After five minutes she tells them that the woman needs hospital immediately. Ten minutes later they tell us the plane will be landing at South Thalia, a small airport on the coast. Lights, ambulances, we disembark as they clean and disinfect the area around the seats… In the cafeteria they open especially for the flight, inside the airport, more duct tape, plastic chairs, its a clear night with a full moon. I wash my face and leave the airport, my phone and take a bus into the adjacent town…

Some of the nitpicking discourse on this post is wild. Yes, you can easily find a cheap London-Warsaw flight. Here, look, I put in a random date and got this 27 pound flight:
That's Wizz Air, a budget airline. European budget airlines function by using small airports in unpopular destination cities and then billing them as more popular cities. Here, LTN is the Luton airport, which is actually 47km from London. Budget airlines also come with a bunch of fees. In my search, for twenty-seven pounds, you get to have a carryon that fits under your seat. That's it. If you want a bigger bag, you will have to buy a more expensive seat. If you forget to check in? 40 euro fee. If you need to check a bag? You're up to a hundred pounds. And you bet your ass you're going to have you prove your bag is the right size by measuring it before you board, because they're desperate to charge you to check it. Once on board, there's no free drink and snack, although they will try to sell you overpriced drinks and food. They've gotten classier, but RyanAir (another budget airline) used to literally play ads over the PA during your flight.
So, budget airlines are not typically a comfortable way to travel, and of course the absurdly cheap flights usually only happen at times when people aren't typically vacationing. (Note my search is for a Wednesday-- when I checked Friday flights, the prices suddenly jumped up to over one hundred pounds.) However. They're still MUCH more accessible than travel within the US. Every "budget" airport I've ever been to has a bus service to get you to the main city you actually want to visit. Intercity bus and train systems are largely more developed. Hotels are generally cheaper than the US and, if you need to get REALLY cheap, there are hostels, which are very rare in the US.
The "expensive" budget airline prices are on par with "cheap" US flights. Many people in the US have to drive literal hours to get to a commercial airport, and very few airports have transfer buses/trains to service the surrounding area. (Did you know the NYC airports just weren't connected to the city, which has the largest public transport system in the country, by public transport until very recently?) Combine that with very little time off, and it's no wonder USAmericans rarely travel outside the country.
Now, of course, these are generalizations. I once hung out with a Russian woman in Amsterdam who described a multi day ordeal involving every type of transport possible to get from her small town to the Netherlands. There are of course places in Europe that don't have robust access to buses or trains. If you don't have the cash to travel, you just don't have the cash to travel, no matter how cheap the flight. And organizing ultra cheap travel often feels like a bizarre game where you're just uncomfortable a lot of the time, which is sort of the opposite of vacationing.
The US side is also generalizations-- Canada IS pretty accessible if you live near the border. The Caribbean is supposed to be easy to get to from Florida. But you're also not going to find a $35 flight no matter how willing you are to play weird travel games.
since moving here ive noticed europeans have no concept of how few americans ever leave USA. every american tourist youve met is of an economic crust that is vastly unobtainable to the other like. 85% generously. no matter what you have believed i can guarantee this. even getting to canada isnt really a possibility and the mexico-US border is highly controlled and militarized.
to put it into perspective. a ~2 hour flight from london to warsaw is like. 30 to 45 USD?
and a 2 hour flight from one US city to another would be about 130 USD
it was very cheap to fly here. i make over 100k USD now and i dont know if ill ever be able to afford leaving. if that gives you an idea of how prohibitive travel is here. i havent even touched on how the US has Zero guaranteed holidays by the govt. many people here go years without ever having an entire week off of work
this has had a like. massive impact on American Brain and they dont even know it because travel isnt even a consideration economically. they dont even know how much more vacation time european countries have guaranteed
#for a while ryanair had this set of PMI-BCN flights#the friday one would be like 20-30 euros depending#and then there just kept being. monday 6 AM for *EIGHT EUROS*#so i'd go to barcelona for the weekend and then take a 4 AM night bus to the airport#and get into palma in time to drop my suitcase at home and go to work#this seemed fine when i was 23 but i think if i did it now it would kill me
