I’m so sad that the acolyte was cancelled :((( I literally do not like the Star Wars universe at all but I checked it out because I like Amandla Stenberg and it was actually great. The way it was completely torn apart before it was even released all because it has a female lead and a half black one at that….. and also because most of the cast were women and poc and that made Star Wars fans sooo angry. They review bombed it. Made inflammatory “critique” videos on YouTube. Harassed the cast and crew. It’s crazy how men so blatantly want to exclude women from everything. Their spaces, their entertainment (tv, movies, video games), etc. But no one wants to call them what they are. Separatists!!! And they will literally do everything to keep it that way.
Edit: also another thing I forgot to mention. Amandla is a lesbian and there were so many weird tweets about how Disney is taking the “diversity quota” to another level and she’s a dei hire for simply existing as a black lesbian like do you hear yourselves????

like great birds that disappear into the early evening: their strenuous white wings carry off the intense sweetness
My words verge on silence like great birds that disappear into the early evening: their strenuous white wings carry off the intense sweetness of dusk, visible then in starlight. My words turn toward the night with no look back at what is lost or won, or what is missing,
