Oh my gosh!!! The podcast I’m listening to named a benevolent god Chuck and that’s like so rude????? Like how can I listen to these characters talk about this lovely god named chuck and not think of Chuck The Motherfucking God That I Hate and Despise???? It’s a tragedy of huge proportions!!! 😭😭😭😭😭 My oh My I need to go to sleep. I also have listened to the song “My oh My” too much apparently if my autocorrect thinks that’s what I meant to say. Lmaoo

I'm thinking about Clementine again and I cant wait to get her full picture. What is she (is she a gravity wave?? Was she destroyed by a gravity wave? How did she come back??), what is she doing (you want there to be no loss?? Ever??), and hows she doing it (HOW ARE YOU GOING TO "FIX" EVERYTHING CLEM?? Are you a gravity wave and going to just Do It Again are you going to make a gravity wave and believe that you'll be able to control the effects some how?? explain PLEASE)

What a week in audio drama! Happy Audio Drama Sunday folks, can we talk about some episodes????

🎥 @thesiltverses comes through once again with an absolute banger. Val is chilling—Val has always been chilling—but this week seeing her vulnerable was somehow. Worse. Hey Chuck??? Run, maybe? And if you’re lucky a treason charge will be the best you can hope for. Don’t think too hard about the worst.

🌄 @midnightburgr my beloved, I love you Midnight Burger. I adore the Hood’s Pocket crew and how delightfully normal they are in the face of time-traveling cowboy outlaws. This show continues to bring the wittiness and smarts firmly alongside compassion. It’s so beautiful.

👁️ Why must you hurt me, @hellofromthehallowoods? We’ve heard Nikignik in some bad emotional spots before, but this ep was three kinds of heartbreaking. Can we talk about the sound Nikignik made—

🚬 I feel like @radio-outcast’s strength is their expert combo of the surreal and the tangible, and that’s doubly true when our heroes are trapped in an illusion as they have been for a minute. It makes it all scarier what happens to Helix at the end of the story, and all the more a relief when the happy ending comes. For now. Enemies abound and surround our heroes, but they will carry on.

🐍 There’s no show like the Magnus Protocol to make me just so so scared of a tiny hole a squirrel made. Like I yelped aloud. That team knows how to hecking GET you. And in the office romance department, I find whatever Alice has going in mighty compelling. I’m sure that will be totally fine.

🚀 I started @jumpleadsscifi this week and I am honestly delighted. I love a sitcom, and I’ve finished episode five, which means we’re to my favorite part of the sitcom: getting just a little bit sad with it. Jump Leads is about two underqualified star trek-like officers whose job it is to fix time and space—though mostly they just mess around. I love it.

🔎 YOU WERE ALL RIGHT ABOUT SHERLOCK & CO. This is what I wish BBC Sherlock was. This means everything to me. I’m obsessed. I’m barely even finished with the first episode. It’s amazing. THE MUSIC.

I started listening to Midnight Burger (on ep 20) here are some of my thoughts (in no particular order):

I like all the characters, but I'd say my favorite character is Caspar.

I totally thought it was going to turn out that Caspar was a child when he first found the diner, and the Mucklewains (No clue how to spell that) where kinda his psuedo parents and that's why he was so distressed when the channel changed, and why he was so defensive of them.

also thought that the "Management" that Caspar mentioned in ep 1 was who took him after the diner wasn't open for 3 days.

Good for Effie and Zebulon on being the Hot Ones.

Also thought that Caspar was somehow what made the diner be able to time travel

I will admit, I honestly didn't like Gloria's Ted rebellion, mainly cause I feel like the diner is a neutral party, just that being that active in conflicts felt antithetical to what it is. Not that it would necessarily help the Teds, but like it just wouldn't be such an active opposing force. (I don't know what I'm trying to say here, it just felt off to me.)

no offense to Chuck, but their voice creeps me out.

I know this is going to be a long rant, but honestly, Caspar shouldn’t have been the only one to apologize.

He never would have tossed her into space if she hadn’t put them all in that situation. Like, what Ava did was, to me, way worse.

Caspar told her what his plan was, Ava gave absolutely no warning.

Caspar gave her a choice to do it willingly, Ava didn’t give anyone a choice.

Caspar checked that it was safe, Ava had no idea if she was putting everyone in danger.

Maybe I’m being too harsh, and I know I am biased towards Caspar, but Ava is honestly being such a hypocrite.

“No. I’m not going to forgive you. I’m also not going to apologize for betraying your trust and doing the one thing you asked me not to do. Yeah, you were right, the suit was safe, but I’m still not going to forgive you for making my actions have actual consequences for me.

Actually, I’m even going to insult you, and say that you’re being a selfish asshole for having feelings, and insinuate that you always get your way, never mind the fact that I, Ava, almost always make everyone go along with what I say, because I’m smart and the rest of you are idiots.

And now I’m even going to insult you further by basically telling you to your face that you’re useless and nobody even likes you, we only tolerate you.”

Honestly, if you ask me, Caspar didn’t need to tell Ava about his son, he doesn’t need to justify his place at the diner. The diner is a place for people who need it, and no one should have to tell the others why.

Sure, Caspar knows the others’ reasons, because he’s been at the diner the longest, but he’s not prying, or demanding they tell him.

I felt the same about Effie and Zebulon not wanting to tell them about why people left their church. They clearly didn’t want to talk about it, (I think they might have said that word for word) the others should have just dropped the subject.

Like sure, eventually Caspar should have told them about his son, but it should have been because he trusts them and wanted to share it. Not because he was made to justify his place at the diner.

I know I just bashed Ava a lot, but I don’t hate her, I just think she’s in the wrong here, but the narrative kinda makes it seem she’s right.

I know Caspar calls her out, but he’s the only one to do so, and he folds on the point pretty quickly.

So. In Midnight burger ep 26. When Xebulon said he was “secluding himself in prayer”.

We all agree he was tryna ask Chuck to punt Clementine like a fucken football, right?

So it would seem I was incorrect in the thought of Clementine recruiting other versions of the Midnight Burger gang (staff?). She was seemingly wanting to know what their respective deals were…I am all the more curious about Clementine’s whole deal given what bits we’ve managed to gleam. Wondering if she is a survivor of one of those gravity wave things. Also question to those with a better grasp of physics theoretical or otherwise….is a gravity wave like…a thing? That’s probably a stupid or asinine question…but is that a thing? We got some knowledge on Caspar’s son which is neat. I do wonder when David will show up…he’s got to show up right? Not be some Godot esque figure never to manifest outside his importance to one of our protagonists?

Don’t worry Clementine I am also confused of how you met Effie and Zebulon. Also, can I say how much this episode made me appreciate the Mucklewains even more? Zeb especially.

Also….what are we thinking of potential connections between Clementine and Chuck? Are there any? Also, also, more Frank? Cool. Hmmm…can Clementine only travel by herself like Ex? Some answers but still a good number of questions to mull over. Last also! What’s Caspar’s last name?

It's Oppie-Barbz Day! I could barely work due to my pent up excitement for Oppenheimer as I counted down the minutes until 4:00. I was so excited, I got worried my car was going to break down. My car did NOT break down and I met up with my scheduled date (RKS). A little bit to our surprise, we had actually signed up for a double date with the cuties next door :) Josh/Torin had already seen Barbie at 10 with nothing but glowing reviews for the hyperextended Ryan Gosling fan cam, but now it was game time. Reagan and I got dressed up for the occasion, but J and T couldn't commit to the bit.

MOVIE REVIEW TIME Oppenheimer: Good

Even though me and R were blown away with the Nolan flic, Torin defiantly stated that the Barbie movie was superior (despite sleeping through the first 30 mins of Oppenheimer). It gave us even more excitement for the Margot Robbie foot film.

To pre-game, R and I had dinner at the Taproom - not before a little walk around the armory talking about Nolan movies. At dinner I was scammed on a grilled cheese, R got her classic mushroom burger, and the fries were excessively – no, ridiculously – salty **YUCK**. Afterwards, we went for Ice cream (Kilwins vanilla for me, cake batter for R) and watched local band New American Cuisine play some songs in front of Ben and Jerry's (those no good lying hippies - we get into that further w/ Chuck).

BARB TIME BARB TIME BARB TIME! The crowd was wild, the girls were slaying, and watching the movie was so fun because of the people – vox populi.

MOVIE REVIEW TIME Barbie: Good, but not Oppie good (Sorry T).

With the double feature wrapped up, and the clock past midnight, I was ready for bed. But not before some final Barbie tunes in the car with R :)

I almost crashed my car on the ride home because I nearly missed a turn because I was sooooo sleepy.

Happy Midnight Burger S2 finale I'm going through it a little

[I didn’t mean to surround myself with people I care about. I meant to do the opposite. I meant to punish myself. [Their name was Shel, and they escaped certain doom on their planet by hitching a ride on a strange comet called Midnight Burger. There they met Gloria The Empire Slayer, Leif the Builder, Ava who communed with mysterious beings, a Wooden Box that spoke of an old God, and some guy named Caspar.]
