DB Jonas is an orchardist living in the Sangre de Cristo mountains of northern New Mexico. Born in California, raised in Japan and Mexico, he studied philosophy and literature at the Universities of California and Padova, and earned postgraduate degrees at Princeton and Yale. Following his retirement from a long career in business and the sciences, he returned to the practice of poetry. His work has been widely published in poetry journals throughout the US, UK, Europe and Israel. Tarantula Season is his first collection of poetry.

Manfaat Buah Pepaya Untuk Pengobatan   Buah pepaya tergolong buah yang mudah di peroleh, disamping itu harganyapun relatif murah dan terjangkau. Buah ini umumnya sangat mudah kita jumpai. Yang paling sering kita dengar, pepaya sangat baik untuk pencernaan dan mengandung banyak vitamin, serta sering dijadikan buah untuk diet yang dikenal dengan "Diet Pepaya". Bahkan, Christopher Columbus memberi sebutan buah ini sebagai “the fruit of the angels”, buah para malaikat. Beberapa literatur juga menyebutkan , buah pepaya bisa bertahan hidup hingga usia 25 tahun atau lebih. Namun, produksi buah tertingginya pada usia 2-3 tahun. Selama setahun, 1 pohon pepaya bisa menghasilkan 100-150 buah, luar biasa bukan?. sedangkan pada usia 5 tahun, produktivitasnya sudah jauh menurun dan pohonnya juga mudah mati karena berbagai faktor. Cara lainnya, ambil biji pepaya kering berupa serbuk 10 gr. Serbuk ini dididihkan bersama air 150 ml, sampai diperoleh larutan 75 ml setelah disaring. Hasil ini bisa diminum sekaligus 2 jam sebelum makan malam.

Bila perlu, campurkan madu, jahe agar rasanya lebih segar. Untuk mencegah risiko batu ginjal, ambil 3 potong akar pepaya, kemudian rebus dengan 1 liter air sampai mendidih, kemudian saring. Setelah dingin, campur dengan sedikit madu, alalu diminum. GetahUntuk obat luka bakar maupun gatal-gatal di kulit (sebagai obat luar). Oleskan getah dari buah pepaya yang masih muda. Agar tidak terjadi infeksi, bersihkan dulu kulit sebelum diolesi. Sebagai pelunak daging daun pepaya dapat dogosol-gosokkan pada permukaan daging. Penggosokan daun pada daging tersebut dimaksudkan untuk mengeluarkan getah (lateks) yang terdapat pada daun sehingga masuk kedalam daging. DaunSebagai pengontrol darah, ambil 5 lembar daun pepaya, rebus dengan ½ liter air hingga tersisa ¾ bagian. Dinginkan sebelum diminum. Jika perlu, tambahkan gula merah atau madu agar terasa lebih manis sebelum diminum layaknya teh. Untuk obat demam berdarah, campur 5 lembar daun pepaya, temulawak, meniran secukupnya, dan gula merah. Rebus hingga masak untuk kemudian di dinginkan sebelum siap diminum. Untuk obat nyeri perut saat haid, ambil 1 lembar daun pepaya, buah asam, dan garam secukupnya. Rebus hingga masak, lalu minum dalam gelas setelah dingin. Jika Anda menggunakan ramuan dari herba pepaya diatas dengan teratur dan berkelanjutan, Anda akan menyadari bahwa ternyata pepaya benar-benar memiliki khasiat yang luar biasa dan mencengangkan.
