Palace Charlottenhof, Potsdam, Brandenburg, Germany
✨ Charlottenhof: the empire jewel I long to return to ✨ 🌍 There are places on this Earth that call me back with an unshakable force. Charlottenhof in Potsdam is one of them. I visited in 2017, capturing moments that I have since shared on Instagram—fragments of a dream I long to revisit. This neoclassical jewel, nestled within Sanssouci Park, is more than a mere palace; it is an ode to design, a masterpiece of harmony between #architecture, craftsmanship, and royal vision. 👑 Commissioned by Crown Prince Frederick William of Prussia (later King Frederick William IV) as a summer retreat, Charlottenhof was transformed from a modest estate into a refined villa between 1826 and 1829. The genius behind its redesign? None other than Karl Friedrich Schinkel, Prussia’s architectural luminary, who infused the residence with his signature clarity and elegance. But Schinkel was not alone in this endeavour—his vision was brought to life by the master builders and artisans who shaped every #decor. 🎨 Among them, Christian Daniel Rauch’s sculptural contributions lent an air of classical serenity, while the legendary Peter Joseph Lenné orchestrated the surrounding gardens with mathematical precision and poetic grace. Inside, the interiors are a symphony of #design history, a collaboration between Schinkel and cabinetmaker Ferdinand Wilhelm Holbein, whose exquisite woodwork graces the villa with unparalleled refinement. The #art crafted for the space echoes the purity of antiquity yet pulses with the modernity of the early 19th century. 🏛️ Charlottenhof was used primarily between 1829 and the mid-19th century, serving as a private sanctuary for the artistic and philosophically inclined Frederick William IV. Walking through its halls, one feels the whispers of conversations between monarchs, architects, and visionaries—voices that shaped not only Prussian culture but #luxury aesthetics at large.
Some Glimpses from Germany for your Weekend :)

Some Prussian Glory to gild your weekend :)
The Berlin Cathedral is seen here from the Old Museum with a Lion Fighter on the flight of steps of the Museum in Berlin. The Lion Fighter was created from 1854 to 1861 by Albert Wolff after a design by Christian Daniel Rauch in the style of realism and is one of the masterpieces of the Berlin School of Sculpture

Pan Comforting Psyche (1857-58) “Marble, 101 x 132 x 67 cm” [Alte Nationalgalerie, Berlin, Germany] -- Reinhold Begas (German; 1831 - 1911)
Deserted by Amor, her lover, Psyche bemoans her curiosity and its consequences. Agitated yet demure, she is comforted by Pan, the otherwise frivolous god of nature. The subject allowed Begas to unite a range of contrasts within one sculpture: female/male, tender/rough, youthful/old.
Reinhold Begas was a German sculptor. He was an apprentice under Christian Daniel Rauch and Ludwig Wilhelm Wichmann. From 1856 to 1858 he travelled around Italy where he was influenced by Arnold Böcklin and Franz Lenbach to move towards a naturalistic style in sculpture. In 1861 he was appointed professor at the Weimar art school before winning the competition to create the statue of Schiller at Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin. From 1870 he was the leading artist working in the plastic arts in the Kingdom of Prussia. His artworks dominated the urban landscape, particularly of Berlin, during the German empire. Several sculptures in Berlin bear testament to his high reputation, such as the Neptune fountain in bronze, originally erected on Schlossplatz, the figure of Alexander von Humboldt in front of the Humboldt-Universität or the statue of Otto von Bismarck in the city’s.

The Kant Monument, Kaliningrad. Replica by Harald Haacke, of the original sculpture by Christian Daniel Rauch. This was destroyed by the RAF but later recreated in the 1990's. An Anti-Putin Terrorist recently defaced the statue with pink paint, the Russian president has pushed for Kant to be seen as a symbol of the Kaliningrad-Oblast and a mascot for their university. Information Source.
Immanuel Kant's tomb covered in graffiti from Soviet soldiers after they took Königsberg, 1945. 'The graffiti in the square says something like "did you ever think that a Russian Ivan would be standing on your ashes???". The other ones are generic statements like "Here were men from Ural", and one listing Soviet victories or places of the soldiers' origin "Moscow, Leningrad", "we were here" etc.' -Source
To answer 'Ivan's' question, Kant was very intelligent and pondered all sorts of things. He probably did not predict the major reason for the fortress's downfall, however, which was the RAF bombing. The 800 year old walls of Konigsberg were otherwise impenetrable, and it's guardians, as close to invincible as men can be.

so this name intrigued me so i searched it up...all i found was links to this post, a twitter post and a lot of pinterest posts. hm.
so i searched images until i found another photo of it
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/94a580c34ea6230523ebe60ba501e7fb/0672a473a81125c2-34/s400x600/bfaadce51dedf2a7804be047facc29ce8693005a.jpg)
now this image is from the UK Royal Collection Trust
Yes this is actually in the UK, in fact its in Osborne House, the family house of Queen Victoria in the Isle of Wight.
It is simply named 'VICTORY' (as in Nike the Hellenic Goddess of victory) and was made in 1861 by CHRISTIAN DANIEL RAUCH (1777-1857), a German artist
Sadly the above is all misinformation except for one thing:
a sculptor-er by the name of Gaylord Ho does exist: (and he does sculpt angels, however i can not find any evidence he has made a copy of said original piece, and the plants do line up albeit in a different season.)
You can find the original image on deviantart as stock art (which i believe is edited), with no sourcing to where or what statue this is, so i also wonder where OP got their information from.
