Guardians Of The Galaxy (2014)

Guardians Of The Galaxy directed by James Gunn is a perfectly good example of Marvel expanding their universe and being successful with it. The movie features a talking raccoon and a giant tree humans figure and is somehow still one of Marvel’s most treasured properties. James Gunn finds a way to make the audience care about this rag tag group of misfits. The story follows Chris Pratt’s Peter Quill as he goes on a bounty hunt for one of the infinity stones through the galaxy, but not for another noble reason than to make a quick buck. He is quickly pursued by opposing space bounty hunters Rocket Racoon played by Bradley Cooper and Groot portrayed by Vin Diesel. To evade the planet destroying Ronan The Accuser they band together with Gamora played by Zoe Saldana and Dave Bastista’s Drax The Destroyer.

 Pratt rallies these troops to make one last stand against Ronan to save the universe. The film is full of fun and goofiness, something that we hadn’t necessarily seen in the Marvel Universe until now. But it’s not all cheesiness and gags, it is a subversive scifi film that brings about the cosmos of this universe. Not even beginning to talk about the masterpiece of the soundtrack, copped as Peter Quill’s mixtape “Awesome Mix Vol 1″. 

It includes pieces by The Jackson 5, The Runaways, Blue Suede and more. The color theme is outstanding and eye popping and the jokes and humor comes at you quick with the occasional running gag. It turned an relatively unknown Marvel comics group of heroes into a beloved franchise.

 These unlikely heroes dubbed by themselves as the Guardians Of The Galaxy quickly became fan favorites and proves that Marvel cannot do wrong. All the while expanding the universe and bringing in the cosmic side of it.

The show featured highlights from the past 15 years of Raw, and even had some of its legendary superstars and divas make appearances. Stone Cold Steve Austin showed up at the very end of the show in a very fitting segment. He toasted a beer to chairman Vince McMahon in the ring, then delivered a "Stone Cold Stunner" on him, dropping Vince to the mat. WWE Raw continues to hit hard every week. The excitement of Monday Night Raw lives on! Wrestlemania 24, is the event considered the "superbowl of sports entertainment" and the biggest Pay Per View of the year for WWE. It will feature thousands of fans along with celebrities in attendance to watch as the WWE Superstars and WWE Divas put on a spectacle. Already confirmed to be there are the likes of Snoop Dogg, Raven Symone, Kim Kardashian, and R&B singer John Legend. While these celebrities will certainly bring extra star power to the event, it will be all about the competition in the ring. Three big matches will headline the 2008 Wrestlemania and are already full of rumors and speculation over who will win. The World Heavyweight title has always been heavily contested and the belt currently is around the waist of WWE Superstar Edge. Edge from WWE's Smackdown brand won the belt after using all sorts of tricks during a triple threat Pay Per View match against the Undertaker and Batista. Batista was the champ at the time, but Edge used a chair to knock out Undertake for a pin. Now heading into Wrestlemania 24, Undertaker has won an Elimination Chamber match of 6 men. His prize will be an attempt at Edge's World Heavyweight title. The interesting facts here are that Undertaker is an impressive 15-0 at Wrestlemania, never losing a match, and that Edge has never been defeated by the Undertaker. Something's got to give for this one with the title on the line. On the WWE Raw side of things is the WWE title, currently held by superstar Randy Orton. Triple H won a brutal Elimination Chamber match against 5 other men to earn a shot at the WWE title. However, John Cena also won the 2008 Royal Rumble, giving him a shot at the WWE title. The obvious smart plan was to put John Cena, Triple H and Randy Orton into a Triple Threat match at Wrestlemania 24. One of these 3 men will take the glory of the WWE title on the grandest stage of them all. Finally, there is a Wrestlemania 24 match which is considered a "David vs. Goliath" sort of contest. It features the returning wrestling star, the Big Show who is over 7 feet tall. His competition comes from outside the wrestling ranks, as boxer Floyd "Money" Mayweather enters the wrestling ring.
