Since it's Indie Animation Day...
I figured I'd repost that list of other animation creators on YouTube that I shared last week, separate from it's original, weird context. I've also included several more entries based on suggestions in the comments. Thanks for the feedback! General Content Warning: Some of the below is not for kids, or contains violence or other subject matter some viewers might find distressing. Please use your adult discretion. Also, this is not a list of moral endorsements. I know some of these creators personally, but many of them I do not. While I have tried to make sure I'm not listing anyone who is a criminal or otherwise objectively harmful person, I don't have encyclopedic knowledge of every little internet drama that has gone down (and chances are I'm not super interested in hearing about it all because it's really difficult to tell fact from fiction from hyperbole around here).
Anyway, check out some Indie Animation:

Waterlollies/ chluaid/ 2007
1. It was made at the time in Adobe Flash computer program that made cartoons possible to draw on computers. This cartoon was still hand drawn each frame with no materials like paper or ink were used. And you could have add sound in the same program as a new track on your desktop. Another useful feature that this program has is an onion layer that allowed you to look in between your frames and you could also make mistakes that would be easier to fix compared to paper. In other words, this program created a new era for animation. And by looking at this piece of art you could learn like for example, I took note for myself of the way author was drawing water is so beautiful and detailed.
2. This piece of animation tells story about young monster named Bitey that was running around forest and disrespecting others by disturbing their peace. And once he ate watery balls of one of water creature, he realized that those things might kill him. Now worried Bitey is forced to hide himself from other creatures because he did something in the past to almost everyone in this forest. While he was trying to survive, he found a log where a bird like creature were speaking with its baby. He kicked out this creature and took over its home to hide from everyone, but bird was saved by yeti like creature who has a grudge against Bitey. He took him out of the log and he was finally punished for everything bad he did.
3. First this short was aired on a new platform for this type of animation, it’s called Newground. Newground is a platform where people from all over the world could share their works, mostly it were teenagers and kids. I personally saw this on YouTube, since its replaced Newground as new platform for this type of thing. It’s was uploaded there by author himself. At the time response was great, it even won first NG Tank Award. People loved this short, and even now after all those years, people still talk about this work with warm and kindness, and new watchers are also amazed by how great this animation looks, especially I.

FLASHBack: Week 104 [Bisected-Month Brackenwood] - BWDS: Prowlies
On FLASHBack the third Thursday of the month has been reserved for long-runner Flash Animation series that didn't quite make the cut for inclusion in the First-Class posts, namely Madness Combat, and more recently Brackenwood. Today we make our last visit to Brackenwood, even though its creator, Adam Phillips, has moved on from Flash to other animation software.   The second entry in the Brackenwood Wildlife Documentary Series, Prowlies, was posted to Newgrounds on 2 April 2019, where, like its predecessors it took the quadfecta of Newgrounds awards, being Frontpaged, Daily Feature, Weekly Users' Choice, and Review Crew Pick. Adam realized that while his narrator for the previous BWDS episode absolutely nailed the sound of a nature documentary narrator, it made more sense to have the narration be from someone within the story itself, namely the Viccan Lemonee Wee. Emma Reynolds reprises that voice role that she first played in Last of the Dashkin.   Phillips tried something else new for this Animation. His various attempts at getting a Brackenwood video game off the ground left him with a hard drive full of unused game assets, and so he hit upon the idea of loading up some of the game levels in the Unreal Engine 4 rendering environment, and using it to generate background stills that he could do his traditional 2D animation overtop of in Toon Boom Harmony. It's a long way from the Flash that he started the series with, and an even longer way from whatever proprietary software he used with Disney in the 90s, but the end result is undeniably gorgeous. And because he had Unreal Engine in his workflow now, Phillips applied for and was accepted to receive one of Epic's MegaGrants. giving him a fresh source of cash to supplement his Patreon income, bringing us that much closer to his return to the main storyline of Brackenwood in the future.   That wraps it up for Bisected-Month Brackenwood. Next week on FLASHBack, we'll look at another animator's struggle with their creation.

Adam Philips has a new game! Also, “The Yuyu”.
Adam Philips, an animator whose work I have admired for quite some time, today released the game BrackenSack in early access. The game features characters known as the “dashkin” -- creatures from the mysterious Brackenwood who can travel with astonishing speed.
Many, many years ago, I was first introduced to the character known as Bitey, one such dashkin, in what remains one of my favorite animated shorts of all time, “The Yuyu” -- animated in Flash.
And, really, this post is just an excuse to link to “The Yuyu” -- so here it is:

I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

1+1.5hr animation, ‘lightning’, version 2 of this one.
Thanks to people in Vann Oba’s discord who gave me some great advice, which we could describe as the principles of animating lightning:
don’t just do lines, don’t try to do composite effects, focus on shape design - a mix of large and small
it’s best to animate lightning on 1s for maximum impact. the bolt appears instantly, then disappears over a few frames, breaking up into short lines and particles.
look at a video of a tesla coil. the inflection points on the arc move but only gradually. so don’t change the shapes too fast.
some inspiration: hidestugu ito, yosimichi kameda
refer to chluaid’s effects course which is free now

I hope you know that literally nobody is going to be able to live up to the standard you, V*v, and Glitch have set and your arrogance and exploitation of your fanbase and connections has screwed millions of creatives out of their dreams because Hollywood is a joke that isn't worth telling and wealthy e-celebs like yourself have claimed the indie scene all to yourselves and moved the goalposts into the stratosphere.
Nope. This isn't a zero sum game. There is not some limited, prescribed number of indie trophy slots that a few studios greedily filled up, blocking everyone else out. That is not how it works. Nothing any other creator is doing - short of personally sending hired goons to your doorstep or stealing your credit cards - is taking anything away from you or preventing your success. In fact if an indie creator can manage to demonstrate that they've got something viable going, it may help to map out a pathway for others.
I think I'm not going to bother trying to address whether or not cartoons in return for support from fans - an entirely voluntary exchange - constitutes exploitation. And I'm living in the Midwest driving a 2007 economy car with 200k+ miles on it, but let's just skip past the assumptions that I'm wealthy and connected too.
Instead, let's get to the weirdly myopic notion that the indie scene is held captive by three studios. Maybe YouTube algorithms or Twitter bubbles are somewhat to blame, but in actuality there are so, so many individual people, friend groups, and small production houses out there making independent animation, I cannot possibly name them all.
Here are some anyway:
Far-Fetched Worthikids Satina | Scumhouse Noodle and Bun Punch Punch Forever Ramshackle Noodle Papajoolia | Pipi Angel Hare | The East Patch Jonni Peppers Salad Fingers Monkey Wrench Studio Heartbreak Felix Colgrave JelloApocalypse Odd1sout (started indie, got picked up by Netflix) Allie Mehner JaidenAnimations Lumi and the Great Big Galaxy Cloudrise | The Worlds Divide Telepurte RubberRoss James Lee ENA Godspeed | Olan Rogers Ollie and Scoops Meat Canyon Port by the Sea Kekeflipnote Boxtown Kevin Temmer Weebl Joel Haver CircleToons Long Gone Gulch Atlas and the Stars Animist Skibidi Toilet A Fox in Space Alex Henderson Talon Toniko Pantoja Sr. Pelo Hullabaloo Kane Pixels (started indie, picked up by A24) Homestar Runner Fennah Gods' School Alan Becker Dungeon Flippers JazLyte Psychicpebbles (started indie, Smiling Friends picked up by AS) Piemations vewn Metal Family Dead Sound chluaid Jacknjellify Betsy Lee | No Evil My Pride Cranbersher GeoExe | Gwain Saga Horatio the Vampire Mech West Playground | Rodrigo Sousa The Brave Locomotive Finchwing (+ many other Warrior Cats animators) Quazies SamBakZa Kamikaze: Trial by Fire
By no means a full list. That's just YouTube, and mostly just English language stuff, and I didn't even get to the multitudes of Warrior Cats animation collabs.
The point is, the indie landscape is vast and populated by creators new and old, making all kinds of animated media from skits, to shows, to ARGs, to films. Audience sizes vary as much as the content, stylistic approaches, subject matter, and budgets do. There are no compliance standards, no gateways to entry, no goalposts. There's not even any preset definition of success except what you decide for yourself.
Anyway, instead of nurturing your resentments, consider making something. I assure you, it's a far more rewarding use of your time and energy, and pretty much no one can stop you. ------------- EDIT- Made some additions to the list based on comments. Thanks!

FLASHBack: Week 100 [Bisected-Month Brackenwood] - BWDS: Fatsack
It's the third Thursday of the month again, which means FLASHBack is going back to Brackenwood. As I mentioned last month, former Disney animator Adam Phillips had put the main series on hiatus while trying to get a video game off the ground, and has only recently returned to work on animating the next chapter. However, in parallel to his attempts to get his video game off the ground, he came up with a spin-off series, meant to expand the lore of Brackenwood, without having to advance the plot of Bitey's story. The Brackenwood Wildlife Documentary Series is in the pattern of your typical nature documentaries, with voiceover narration shown over footage of a particular example of fauna, explaining a bit about the creature. Phillips had laid out a long list of the members of Brackenwood's bestiary that he wanted to cover in the series: Fatsacks, Prowlies, Morrugs, Blood-Coats, Chisel-Lizards, Giribus, Mood Birds, Dandeants, Feathergnats, Umbrellaflies (Petalflies), and Salmogs. So far, however, he's only covered the first two from that list, and announced that the next episode would cover the third.   The first chapter of BWDS, Fatsack was posted to Newgrounds on 22 June 2016. As is typical of a Brackenwood animation, it raked in the usual slate of Newgrounds awards (Frontpaged, Daily Feature, Weekly Users' Choice, and Review Crew Pick). Notably, this was not animated in Flash at all, but instead in Toon Boom Harmony; however as the bulk of the Brackenwood series was done in Flash, I'm including it in FLASHBack for the sake of completion. The short clip explains the simple anatomy of the Fatsacks, why they slosh when they move, and the source of their impolite noises. The narration is provided by A.K. Alfadel, a voice actor who offered up his services while watching Phillips work on the animation on Twitch. The musical score is the world map music from the canceled Last of the Dashkin video game.   That wraps it up for this week. Next week, we'll talk turkey.
