Okay okay I'm still partly thinking about chimtommy but like
Imagine Maddie and Chim wanna spice things up a bit, invite someone into their bed for some fun
Maddie herself isn't very sure she wants to participate but she wouldn't mind watching Howie with someone
And they try to find a woman they're both attracted to (madney are both bi fight me on this) but it's a bit of a bust
And Chim gets the (drunken) bright idea to ask Tommy
So he texts him the deets, tells him that he can say no at any time, Maddie doesn't even have to be in the room as long as they can film it but even then that's negotiable (Chim is just really keyed up on the idea of sleeping with Tommy tbh)
To his surprise
Tommy agrees
He's even okay with Maddie watching as long as they don't have to do anything sexual
So it happens
It's absolutely fantastic, all three parties have a Great time
And they call Tommy in every now and again when they want to spice things up
Queue the hurricane happening and Buck and Tommy meeting, ankles are maimed and Chimney nearly misses his own wedding
It's been awhile so Maddie doesn't put two and two together that threesome Tommy and hot pilot Tommy are the same Tommy until the wedding
And both she and Chim share a look like "....oh boy"
Tommy ends up telling Buck about the threesome and Buck has a momentary freakout before being like "okay but that's....not gonna happen anymore, right?" And Tommy assures Buck that it only happened because he was single, and wasn't going to risk whatever was building between them for some momentary fun with Chim
(Buck can't help but imagine what that might have been like, and he doesn't know if he's turned on by the thought of Tommy and Chimney fucking or if it makes him want to die)

this is mostly crack but
chimney has been tasked with restocking the ambulance and cleaning the engine top to bottom and tommy's up in the loft watching him and eli spots him and comes up to have a word with him
"you have got to start being nicer to him, kinard."
tommy, still stuck in daydream mode, "you think he'd let me suck his dick?"

madneytommy threesome. just because tommy’s gay doesn’t mean he doesn’t think maddie watching is hot and maddie … well let’s just say when buck got all the exhibitionism kink maddie got all the voyeurism kink. and chimney’s just very very happily along for the ride. literally

Ok, listen to me. Tommy and Chim who are friends and fwb for years, when they are both single, meet Buckley siblings and fall in love
Chim says that he understands what is like when man like Tommy is your bi awakening and promises Buck he found himself a good one. Buck tries to deny but not bc he doesn't know about crush but bc Maddie and he both think they fall in love with man who are together for years. Tommy and Chim eventually start flirting with their Buckley, but Buckleys are so angry with them for being a cheaters, but Tommy and Chim are laughing and explaining their dynamic. Nothing romantic between them

🤝🏻🤝🏻🤝🏻🤝🏻 but also 💥💥💥💥 pls and thank you
Hello love, 🤝🏻 EddieChimTommy bonding after the breakup (I started writing this one because i refuse to believe Chim and Eddie are just awful friends who would totally forget about tommy's existence 😘)
💥 bucktommyeddiechim shenanigans (and writing this one was surprisingly so hard lol)
🤝🏻 Tommy leans against the doorframe with a sigh. "What is it, Howie?" Chimney lifts the six-pack as if it’s a winning lottery ticket. "Oh, come on, I’ve been calling you. You don’t have plans, right? I brought this, and I wanna watch that movie you’re always raving about." Tommy crosses his arms, looking unimpressed. "Howie… Look, I’m not in the mood for any lectures or talks. Can we just drop this so I can go back to spending my off day clearing out the garage?" Chimney widens his eyes in mock offense. "Who said anything about a lecture? Dude, what would I even lecture you about?" Tommy tilts his head, scoffing. "Really? You want me to believe this is just about beer and a movie?" Before Chimney can respond, the sound of a truck pulling into the driveway catches their attention. Tommy groans as Eddie steps out, holding a pizza box. Tommy throws up his hands. "Great. You invited Eddie, too?" Chimney grins even wider. "I did not. But hey, the more, the merrier." He nudges Tommy aside and steps into the house like he owns the place. Tommy spins around, incredulous. "Really, Howie?!" Chimney waves a hand dismissively, already making himself comfortable in the living room. "Relax, dude. You’ve got comfy couches, a big TV, and beer. What’s there to complain about?"
and
💥 “Oh, no,” Buck muttered. “They’re drunk.” “Fantastic,” Tommy sighed. “Should we pretend we didn’t see them?” “Too late! They saw us!” Buck waved back reluctantly. When they got closer, the scene became even clearer. Chimney was unsteady on his feet, grinning from ear to ear like he’d just won a prize. Eddie, meanwhile, looked like he’d rather be anywhere else, rubbing his temple as if regretting every decision that had led him here. “What are you two doing here?” Tommy asked, more exasperated than curious. “Hiking!” Chimney announced proudly, wobbling as he tried to gesture at the dark trail. “Late-night adventure. Builds character.” “You’re drunk,” Buck said, squinting at him. “And Eddie’s… Eddie, are you okay?” Eddie’s gaze shifted to Buck, his drunk grumpiness on full display. “No. I’m here because he”—he jabbed a finger in Chimney’s direction—“dragged me into this nonsense. I wanted to go home.” “You needed this!” Chimney said, patting Eddie’s shoulder. “You’ve been so tense lately.” “I’m tense now,” Eddie growled, stepping away from Chimney’s overly affectionate hand.

Bucktommy with some “had a crush” ChimTommy. (Inspired by the stills for episode 6)
(AO3 Link)
“Do you know I used to have a crush on you?”
Tommy almost chokes on a piece of white bread and wouldn’t that be hilarious? Pulling an Evan right in front of Howie?
Howie, who is responsible for Tommy and Evan meeting in the first place? Without Howie, this wouldn’t be possible. Nothing of this. They wouldn’t sit at the table in Evan’s loft. They wouldn’t eat dinner together. They wouldn’t talk about old and new times.
Tommy wouldn’t be even alive without Howie.
And now …
“What?” He sputters, baffled.
“Yeah.” Howie is patting Tommy’s back with a half-amused, half-worried expression. “Please don’t die on me now. Not again. I might be too drunk to make good decisions right now.”
Tommy shakes his head and reaches for his bottle to pour the pesky bread down with some beer. “I’m good. But … What do you mean you had a crush on me?!”
Howie shrugs. He takes another sip of his beer, his cheeks a little flushed. “Look. No one can blame me. You’re ridiculously handsome and cool.”
“Thank you,” Tommy says, flustered. He feels a sting too though. Old guilt. “I wish I wouldn’t have been such an asshole. You tried so hard even though the first impression you got from me was a racist remark. And I pushed you away.” Hard. He pushed hard. Still remembers the irritation he felt when that new guy just wouldn’t give up. Wouldn’t shut up. Wouldn’t stop being so heartachingly nice. Tommy didn’t know how to deal with that.
Howie hums and nods. “I remember. I was there. Look. We talked about this. Many times. You apologised. I told you I forgive you. We are good. So I really hope you don’t think you still have some kind of debt to pay.”
Tommy swallows. He looks down at his feet, suddenly feeling guilty and bashful. “Well, there’s something I should tell you … I promised myself to be more open in general. We had some talks, Evan and I. About things like holding back truths. Keeping feelings a secret. And I don't want to do that anymore. So, um, you should know that I also had a little crush on you.”
“No way, man,” Howie leans back and chortles. “No way! That's amazing.”
“Well. Yeah,” Tommy smiles weakly. “You were kind. Funny. Capable. Handsome. And after you saved my life … When I saw you at the hospital, showing up and acting like it’s a normal thing to do. Well. I couldn’t really help myself.”
He remembers their hug. He wanted to put everything he felt back then into that hug. Did he succeed? He'll never know. But he tried.
“Imagine,” Howie says, his eyes getting a distant look like he really does already imagine. “Everything could have been so different. But here’s the thing. As flattered as I am, I wouldn’t want things to be different.”
Tommy nods seriously. “Same.”
“Maddie is the one, man,” Howie says dreamily.
Tommy smiles. “I can see that.”
Everyone can see the love. It’s in the glances Howie and Maddie exchange. In the familiar gentleness of their touches and in the fond way they smile at each other when Jee does something cute. And Tommy is happy for them. For what they found and built. What they fought for.
“I would do anything for her,” Howie adds seriously, then raises a brow and moves to clink his bottle together with Tommy’s. “To love.”
“To love,” Tommy says, his mouth suddenly dry.
Love.
Later, when Evan comes home, Tommy still sits at the table and fidgets, lost in his thoughts and memories.
“Hey. You okay?” Evan asks, tilting his head with a small smile and a barely-there frown. “You seem … distant.”
Tommy shakes his head, folding his hands. “No. I’m fine. I was just thinking. Howie and I talked a lot today.”
“Well, I hope he didn’t tell you all the embarrassing stories about when I started at the 118 as a careless, reckless hothead,” Evan chuckles, putting a hand on his hip and leaning against the kitchen counter, his eyes bright and his cheeks flushed. “I talked to Maddie and Josh a lot too today.”
“Oh?” It’s Tommy’s turn to raise a teasing brow. “About me?”
“Maybe,” Evan says, the corners of his mouth twitching and the blush spreading on his face.
After that, a moment of silence stretches between them. It feels … loaded with emotion somehow. It feels like they both want to say something but still hesitate because it feels so significant that they forget how to express it.
But Tommy has too much experience with keeping things to himself. He also knows that time is never a given thing. You never know what will happen tomorrow. Never know how much time is left in a life’s hourglass.
He clears his throat. “Evan. I have to tell you something. I -”
“I love you!” Evan blurts.
Tommy’s breath hitches. Everything seems to slow down until there’s nothing but the echo of Evan’s words.
“I love you,” Evan repeats and he’s wide-eyed, tears glistening in the blue. “I do. And I know we have had some … talks lately. About some serious things. About your past and my past. And, and you don’t have to say it back. Not yet. It’s okay. I needed to say it though. I needed you to know. Because -”
Before he can ramble on, Tommy is already on his feet and reaches for Evan, cupping his face and capturing his open lips in a kiss.
Love.
That’s love.
“I love you too, Evan.”

This is another rarepair y’all! It’s ChimTommy
Tommy thought they were really becoming something. They spent time together outside of work getting dinner or going to see movies whether at the little drive in theatre in Corona or the one night they’d shown Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein at a graveyard in San Diego.
He remembers that night so clearly because it was the first night they’d actually been able to relax and not have to worry about anyone saying anything about them cuddling in public. Captain Gerrard had been ousted at the 118 and Howie decided he wanted to go somewhere and celebrate.
Now as he stands here just outside the locker room out of sight he knows that known of it truly meant anything to Howie like it had him.
He can still hear the phone call and how sweet he’s talking. He doesn’t know who it is but whoever she is she’s obviously somebody special because that sweet voice is something Tommy’s only ever heard aimed at him.

for the writing game! 🍻 please - the chimtommy bestie bros we deserve
Send me emojis from this post and I'll write a couple of sentences (or more) for the corresponding idea/wip! This absolutely got away from me but I don't regret it
Making friends was something that never came naturally to Tommy. The deep seated fear that people would realize there was something wrong with him, something broken, made it hard to connect to people.
Sure, he had Sal, but they bonded over mutual bitchiness and an unspoken pact to back each other up whenever Gerrard turned his ire on them.
Sal didn't know. That Tommy was gay. Tommy did his damn best to hide it. Using a revolving door of fake girlfriends to placate him and Gerrard.
Howie though. Howie saw right through him. He really shouldn't have been surprised. Howie's ability to put two and two together is what saved him from dying an explosive death in a shitty fucking mall.
He didn't bring it up in front of anyone else. He didn't even mention it to Tommy himself. But it was the way Howie would always deflect the second Gerrard asked why his girlfriend never made them any dinner, asking Tommy if he had seen that new movie that just came out or if he could maybe see why his car was making a weird noise.
It was the way Howie would squeeze Tommy's shoulder and steer him away whenever girls at a car started flirting with him. Usually to take his place, but he understood the real sentiment.
It could all have been brushed away, but Tommy just knew that Howie knew, and that he was waiting for whenever Tommy was ready to say the words himself.
He didn't think he'd ever be able to, but knowing Howie would stand by him regardless...it was nice.

some of my EddieChimTommy bonding story (continuing from here) 🥰
Eddie, reaching the door, takes in the scene with an amused look. "Trouble in paradise?" Tommy glares at him. "You just happened to swing by? With pizza?" Eddie shrugs, holding up the box. "Finished some errands and figured you’d be home. Thought you might want company—or at least wouldn’t turn down free food." Chimney’s voice floats over from the living room. "See? It’s fate. Now shut the door, grab some plates, and let’s get this party started." Tommy sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose. "You two are annoying." Eddie smirks, stepping past him and into the house. "And yet, here we are." Tommy shuts the door, but his hesitation lingers as he watches them settle in like this is their space. He doesn’t sit, standing stiffly by the arm of the couch instead. "Seriously, what are you guys doing here?" His tone isn’t angry, but it’s far from relaxed. Chimney, already popping the tab on a beer, looks up with an easy smile. "Having a beer, watching a movie, and hanging out with our buddy. What else would we be doing?" Eddie glances over, his expression more measured. "Yeah, Tommy. What else?" Tommy doesn’t answer right away, the weight of their presence pulling at him in ways he’s not ready to confront. He nods toward the pizza box instead. "You’d better clean up after yourselves."
