Childrens Dentist Adelaide: A Guide to the Typical Dental Checkup Process at a Children's Dentist in Adelaide
Taking your child to the dentist can be a daunting experience for both parents and their little ones. However, understanding the typical dental checkup process at a children's dentist in Adelaide can alleviate concerns and uncertainties. In this guide, we'll walk you through the key steps of a pediatric dental visit, emphasizing the importance of early dental care for your child's oral health.
Welcoming Environment:
Childrens dentist Adelaide are trained to create a warm and welcoming environment to make the dental visit a positive experience. From colorful waiting areas to friendly staff, the goal is to ease any anxiety your child may have about visiting the dentist. The ambiance is carefully designed to cater to the unique needs of young patients, ensuring a stress-free environment.
Friendly Introduction:
Upon arrival, your child will be greeted by a friendly dental team that specializes in working with children. Establishing a rapport with the little ones is crucial for building trust and making them feel comfortable. The dentist will introduce themselves, explain the process in a child-friendly manner, and answer any questions your child might have.
Oral Examination:
The dental checkup begins with a thorough oral examination. The dentist will carefully inspect your child's teeth, gums, and mouth to identify any signs of decay, cavities, or other dental issues. Using child-sized instruments and a gentle approach, the dentist ensures a pain-free experience, promoting a positive association with dental care.
X-rays (if necessary):
In some cases, the dentist may recommend dental X-rays to get a comprehensive view of your child's oral health. X-rays help identify potential issues not visible during a regular examination, such as cavities between teeth or problems with erupting permanent teeth. Children's dentists use low-radiation equipment to prioritize the safety of young patients.
Professional Cleaning:
One of the essential aspects of a dental checkup is a professional cleaning. The dental hygienist will use specialized tools to remove plaque and tartar buildup, especially in areas that are challenging to reach with regular brushing. This preventive measure is crucial for maintaining optimal oral health and preventing cavities.
Fluoride Treatment:
To further protect your child's teeth, the dentist may recommend a fluoride treatment. Fluoride helps strengthen tooth enamel, making it more resistant to decay. The treatment is often provided in the form of a gel, foam, or varnish and is applied directly to the teeth. Children's dentists take extra care to ensure the fluoride application is a positive and comfortable experience for young patients.
Education and Guidance:
Children's dentists in Adelaide prioritize educating both parents and children about proper oral hygiene practices. The dentist will offer guidance on effective brushing and flossing techniques, the importance of a balanced diet, and ways to prevent common dental issues. Empowering families with knowledge helps establish a foundation for lifelong oral health.
Fun Rewards and Positive Reinforcement:
To make the dental visit memorable in a positive way, children's dentists often incorporate fun rewards and positive reinforcement. Stickers, small toys, or certificates for bravery can turn the experience into a celebration, encouraging children to view dental care as a positive and exciting part of growing up.
Conclusion:
Understanding the typical dental checkup process at a children's dentist in Adelaide is key to easing concerns and uncertainties. From the welcoming environment to the friendly introduction, thorough examination, and preventive measures like fluoride treatment, pediatric dental visits are designed to prioritize the unique needs of young patients. By emphasizing education, guidance, and positive reinforcement, children's dentists play a crucial role in nurturing smiles and promoting a lifelong commitment to oral health.

steddie adopting babies! hcs
this was originally steddie adopting a (1) baby but i got carried away<3 hoho
Tumblr media
enjoy :D
~~
-they adopt a newborn baby from a teenage mom in Hawkins
-they have their own little house, with a humbly decorated baby room
-eddie wants rock n roll names: for a girl, alice, like alice cooper, and for a boy, ozzy like Osbourne
-steve actually agrees with those names, and compromises to having really lovely, classy middle names, like harriet, elizabeth, adelaide, etc
-steddie take their daughter to the doctors and the doctor asks, “how are her poops” and eddie says “stinky”
-steve smacks him, “very regular doc, usually at night”
-doc asks, “how often does she cry”
-eddie, under his breath, “all the fucking ti-OW”
-steve politely asks eddie to leave
-steve, the CEO of ‘i’m sorry about him’
-on the drive home, eddie defends himself saying that his answers were actually way more descriptive
-steve in the kitchen with a little apron and 4 kids hanging off his neck, attached to his legs, in fits of giggles while he flips pancakes
-eddie with one (1) child on his hip, happily taking out plates and whistling queen songs
-eddie looks at steve holding their youngest on his hip, “I’m helping :D”
-steddie taking their kid to the dentist and the dentist says absolutely no sweets for the next hour -but all the kid has to do is pout and eddie will give in and give them a chocolate or two
-if the kid cries eddie cries period
-steve making sure him and eddie have time off to see their childrens dance recitals, sports games, productions, etc
-steddie clapping louder than any other parent
-all of their children also coming to their siblings recitals, steddie sat a few seats away from each other with all the kids sitting on their own seats in between them, apart from the youngest who sits on eddie’s lap so he can take her little hands and clap with them
-steve’s parents weren’t present so he is making sure his kids feel supported and feel how much he is beaming with pride at them constantly
-ALWAYS hanging up every single drawing or certificate on the fridge
-steve absolutely sobbing his heart out every time their kids advance to the next grade
-sniffles “my babies, where did the time go”
-eddie lets the kids get away with swearing as long as steve doesn’t hear
- ‘fuck’
-steve, popping his head out from the kitchen, “what did you say?!”
-eddie, “he said fudge”
-say it with me, MATCHING HALLOWEEN COSTUMES
-dressing up his kiddos as different animals
-him and steve are the zookeepers
-steddie dressing up their softest/smallest kiddo as a tiger or lion and trying to get them to be intimidating
- “rawr for us!” >:) “wowie how intimidating!”
-eddie play fighting with his children
-steve going even more soft if his child (or eddie!) is sick :c
-cooks anything they want, makes sure everyone’s quiet so they can rest, makes them bubble baths to cheer them up, and lots and lots of cuddles
-and tickles their little feet to make sure they can still laugh
-because in the munson-harrington household, laughter is the best medicine

Adelaide and I went to see the dentist this morning. Good reports for both of us, but we’ve officially gotten to the orthodontist phase for Adelaide. We have a referral, and I’ll need to call their office at some point soon to set up a consult. She’s still got some wiggly baby teeth in there, so I’m hoping they’ll want to wait for a bit, but I’m sure they’re going to say yes on the braces. SIGH. Children are so expensive.

A Royal Recluse: Princess Clotilde
Just at the time when, in consequence of the weakness and folly of the republican government, certain French Monarchists are looking to Prince Victor Napoleon Bonaparte as the possible savior of their country, the Prince, whose marriage to Princess Clementina of Belgium recently brought him before the public, was watching by the deathbed of his mother, Princess Clotilde of Savoy, who breathed her last on June 25. The story of this royal lady is a pathetic one and, apart from the interest that is attached to her as the mother of the imperial candidate to the French throne, her personal character was one of rare beauty.
She was the daughter of Victor Emmanuel II, first King of Italy, and of Adelaide, Archduchess of Austria, and was born at Turin on March 2, 1843. Her mother died in 1855, leaving five young children, of whom Clotilde was the eldest, the others being Humbert, the future King of Italy ; Amadeo, Duke of Aosta ; Maria Pia, the queen dowager of Portugal, and a son who died in childhood. The Queen of Sardinia (Victor Emmanuel had not at that time laid violent hands on the independent states of Italy) was an exemplary wife and mother, and her orphan daughters were carefully educated by the attendants whom she had placed about them.
Never was a princess more ruthlessly sacrificed to political interests than the eldest princess of Savoy. When a mere child of sixteen, Clotilde was chosen to cement the alliance between France and Sardinia, and was promised in marriage to Prince Napoleon Jerome, nephew of Napoleon I and first cousin Napoleon III, the reigning sovereign. Princess Clotilde was connected with the Bourbons, her very name was French and was given to her in memory of the French Princess Marie Clotilde, sister of Louis XVI, who married a King of Sardinia ; but allied as she was by close ties of blood to the Bourbons, she had nothing in common with the Bonapartes who occupied their place, and a more ill-assorted couple never existed than the middle-aged, violent, cynical and free-thinking Prince Napoleon and the daughter of the most ancient royal house in Europe, who traditions and surroundings were strictly conservative and religious. Their marriage took place at Turin on January 30, 1859. The bride was sixteen and the bridegroom thirty-seven. He had a handsome presence and was intelligent and well informed and well informed, but neither his private life nor his freely expressed opinions on public matters made him estimable or lovable. His attitude with regard to his cousin, the Emperor, was one of constant opposition, and it was reported that his anti-religious views led him to take part in the banquets organized by a group of free thinkers on Good Friday. Under the Second Empire the French Government was officially Catholic, and Prince Napoleon's hostile and aggressive attitude was pronounced ill-bred, if not worse. Throughout France he was distinctly unpopular.
The young bride, married to this unsympathetic nephew of the great Napoleon, probably had few illusions as to the sum of happiness that awaited her in her new home. There are still some old men living who remember her when she took possession of the Palais Royal, Prince Napoleon's Paris house.: a slight, pale girl, with fluffy, fair hair and bright eyes, not pretty but singularly attractive. Her high breeding stood her in good stead in the somewhat parvenu atmosphere of the Court of the Tuileries, she had a royal dignity all her own, and her simplicity of heart was combined with much quiet firmness. From the first she ordered her life according to the principles in which she had been educated. An early riser, even at the Palais Royal, she gave much time to prayer and to works of mercy, but her piety, says M. Emile Ollivier, a former minister of Napoleon II, “never made her tiresome or intolerant. She believed that the most useful sermon was the practice of the virtues that are taught by faith.” Her husband, although so widely apart from her, acknowledged her goodness. “Clotilde is a saint,” he sometimes said ; “if there were many like her, I believe I myself should end by becoming devout.”
When the disastrous war of 1870 brought terror and shame upon France, the Princess was in Paris. During that fatal month of August every day came news of a fresh defeat, and the revolution that was to break out on the 4th of September was already distinctly perceptible; the infuriated and terrified people made the imperial government responsible for the reverses that so keenly wounded their patriotic pride.
Princess Clotilde was alone at the Palais Royal ; her husband was with the army, her three children she sent to Switzerland, where Prince Napoleon had an estate; but she steadily refused to leave Paris while the Empress Eugénie remained at the Tuileries. There was not much personal sympathy between the two; it was Princess Clotilde's feeling of loyalty that chained her to the post danger as long as there was a semblance of imperial government in Paris.
In vain her husband wrote imperious messages bidding her join her children at Prangins; in vain her father sent the Marquis Spinela to Paris to escort her ; the Princess so yielding in everyday life, was unbending in her decision to remain at the palace as long as the lonely woman at the Tuileries was the nominal ruler of France ; she had shared the splendors of the Empire, and it went against her noble spirit to desert the Empress.
The letter this young woman, a stranger in a strange land, wrote to her father on August 25, 1870, has been quoted by the French papers. It is a right royal letter worthy of the daughter of kings:
“I am a French woman,” she says. “I cannot desert my country. When I married although so young, I knew what I was doing and if I did it, it was because I wished to do so. The interest of my husband, of my children and of my country require that I should remain here. The honor of my name, your honor, my dear father, and that of my country also demand it. Nothing will make me fail in what I believe to be my duty to the end... You know that the house of Savoy and fear have never gone together, and you would not wish that they should meet in my person.”
At last, when the Empress was driven from her palace by the mob, the Princess considered that she was free to follow, but how different was the departure of the two women!
The brilliant and beautiful sovereign, closely disguised, was only able to leave Paris owing to the assistance of her American dentist, Dr. Evans; her young cousin made her exit as a princess. In an open carriage, accompanied by her lady in waiting, she drove to the railway station in broad daylight. The excited people, awed by her courage and dignity, saluted her as she passed out of their sight, a truly royal and saintly figure.
Princess Clotilde lived for some years at Prangins, near Geneva, where she devoted herself to the education of her three children; then, when her husband was allowed to return to France, the difficulties of her married life were such that by mutual consent she retired to the Castle of Moncalieri, near Turin, with her young daughter. Here, in the home of her childhood, she spent nearly forty years. They were years of peace, largely marked by sorrow. Four times only did she emerge from her retreat, once in January 1878, when she heard that her father lay dangerously ill in Rome. She had suffered cruelly from the spoliation of the Holy See by the house of Savoy, and the remembrance of her father's part in the matter prompted her to fly to his bedside. On the way she heard that he was dead, and she sadly returned to Moncalieri. In 1891, she again started for Rome, this time to visit her husband, who lay dying at the Hotel de Russie. Those who saw the Princess during those solemn days can never forget her sweetness, earnestness and gentle patience. What passed between her and Prince Napoleon none can tell, but Cardinal Mermillod a frequent visitor to the sick room, professed himself satisfied, after two private interviews, that the dying man was fully conscious. The Princess, whose married life, it is well known, had been a via crucis, remained near him to the end, praying incessantly for the soul that probably owes its salvation to her intercession. Again in 1903 and in 1904, she left Moncalieri to visit her sister-in-law, Princess Mathilde Bonaparte, whose deathbed she attended.
Her life, as it neared the end became more and more that of a recluse. Her sons lived their own lives in Brussels and in Russia; her daughter, having married a Prince of Savoy, was near to her, and their visits, occasionally brought an element of joy into the silent castle. Last autumn, Prince Victor Napoleon's marriage to the Princess Clémentine of Belgium gladdened his mother's heart. It was celebrated at Moncalieri, and to those who attended the ceremony the most striking figure present was the slight, gray-haired lady, plainly dressed in black, whose eyes had the far-away look of those who are nearing the eternal shore. Even in the days of her youth Princess Clotilde's spirituality struck M. Emile Ollivier. It gave her, he says a singular insight into all questions that touch on right and wrong; she possessed the gifts of the true mystics, “who judge human affairs with a clearness and rectitude born of detachment.” Her chief link with the outer world during the long, silent years of old age was her love for the poor, to whom she gave royally, with a loving kindness that made her gifts more precious. Their grief was great when they heard of her death, and their prayers will follow her remains to the royal mausoleum of La Superga, near Turin, where the daughter of the Sardinian Kings sleeps with her ancestors.

The Murder House chronology, as given in the show
Now that my look-back is done I’ll take a closer look at the chronology of the building - based exclusively on the informations given to us in the show. For additional elements I’ll leave it as theories and hypothesis below.
# 1922. The House is built by Charles Montgomery for his wife, Nora. By 1923 they start their abortion business. The date of the death of the Montgomery couple was never said in the show, but sources and common agreement is that it was around 1925/1926.
# 1947. The House is now owned by dentist David Curran, and the murder of the Black Dahlia takes place.
# 1968. The house is now a sorority house and the infamous Franklin murders happen.
# 1978. The house is abandonned and in a state of disrepair. The twins get killed in it by the Infantata. It is quite interesting to note that Adelaide was already present and obsessed with the house - implying that the Langdon family was living nearby.
# 1983. Constance kills Hugo and Moira. Tate was only six at the date.
# 1984. Tate, now seven, meets Nora Montgomery and Constance is seen having big financial troubles, which means she probably lost the house soon afterward.
# The house was owned in the early 1990s (and perhaps late 1980s) by Larry and his family. I cannot find back the exact year in which Lorraine and her children killed themselves, but by 1993 Larry is now living with Constance back in the house and at her demand he kills Beau.
# In 1994 Tate (now 17 according to the chronology) goes mad, burns Larry, commits the Westfield Highschool Massacre, and is shot by the police. Constance lost the house at an unknown time.
# 2010. Chad and Patrick, the new owners, die in the house.
# 2011. The Harmon family owns the House, and all the events of the season unfold over their nine months living there.
# 2012. The Ramos family buys the house and flees overnight.
This full chronology having been established, I want to raise two points:
# The 1978 section of the house history has a problem On one side, it makes sense that the house is as abandonned as it is. After all, if it was abandonned after the Franklin Murders, it stood for at most ten years without inhabitants. However my trouble is that the jars of Dr. Montgomery were still in the basement... How come?
There are two explanations. One being that maybe they were kept throughout the years - after all, after the Montgomeries, all the owners were related to medecine (a dentist ; then a nurse sorority). The other theory is that maybe it was a projection or manifestation of the past (Charles Montgomery is seen appearing with his surgical tool and his ether, so it is possible that he can summon his old tools and laboratory back, somehow).
# Constance’s fourth child place in the chronology. Now, we know they originally planned him to be at least an adult and good looking albino, we will say in his twenties for the sake of simplicity (we will not take into account the true age of his actor since was we saw with Hayden and Tate it doesn’t count). Tate was 17 in 1994, meaning in 2011 he is around 34. Given that Tate seems to be the last of Constance’s children, the albino can only be older than Tate. As a result, I can only see his death in the timeline occuring during Constance’s second time in the house, around the 1990s. It is the only time he could have been old enough - hell, maybe he would have died after Tate, in the late 1990s or the early 2000s.
# Additional note: I also calculated if Addie could be present around the house in 1978 and yes. We know she is the oldest of Constance’s children, and if we go with the fact she birthed her four children one year after another, she is four year older than Tate in 2011 (38 years old), which means she was born in 1973 - making her five years old in 1978.
# I am also wondering about the hedge-clipper man, that was also another scrapped part of the house history. In terms of history gap, he could have only been in the house in the 1930s or the 1950s.

Paleo-Hoops: In 1901, UC Women Outsmarted The Administration
Airball – that’s pretty much what basketball was like at the University of Cincinnati at the dawn of the Twentieth Century. Basketball – or “basket ball” as it was known then – was relatively new and very much inferior to football and baseball. The first basketball game at the University of Cincinnati was played on 7 January 1896, by a loosely organized pair of intramural teams known as the Dew Drops and the Pig Toes. The school janitor was drafted to fill out one squad. The result was a 1-1 tie.
It took a while for hoops to gain attention. Among other reasons, there were few schools to play against. Basketball proved very popular with women, however, and each year UC’s women organized teams by class and competed round-robin style among the freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors.
Tumblr media
During the 1900-01 academic year, UC’s male students couldn’t get it together to organize a varsity team and the women were appalled. They decided to form an all-female varsity squad to uphold the school’s honor and scheduled a game with a Chillicothe team. The Cincinnati Post [24 April 1901] gave them kudos:
“The University girls’ basket ball team has enacted a brilliant coup at Burnet Woods, and, like their male predecessors in the athletic world, are going to make an athletic tour.”
When UC’s administration heard about this trip, however, they immediately vetoed it. The Chillicothe women’s team was not associated with any college, so UC’s administrators prohibited the UC women from representing the university in such a competition – despite men playing non-college teams for decades. According to the Post, the young women agreed to comply with the letter of the administration’s edict while still fulfilling the Chillicothe agreement:
“Another meeting was called, and it was decided not to send ‘the University team,’ but all of its members, leaving to Chillicothe the responsibility of taking down their advertisements for the U.C. team or not.”
In other words, the administration might prohibit a UC team from playing, but had no right to keep individual students from playing a game anywhere. The women traveled to Chillicothe as individuals and played as the “Cincinnati” team, not the “University of Cincinnati” team.
The women who made the Chillicothe trip comprised something like an all-star team. Among them were Elizabeth Andrews of Hamilton, who would captain her class team as a junior; Grace Wright of Walnut Hills, freshman guard; Alice Richardson of Glendale, who seems not to have been enrolled that year; Marguerite Craig a ringer from Glendale, who may never have been a UC student; and Alice Thornton, a freshman who would captain her sophomore team.
Coaching this miscellaneous squad was Mabel Halliday, who had enrolled in the class of 1899, but almost immediately dropped out to become UC’s instructor in gymnastics. Halliday’s younger sister, Vernon, had captained the 1898 UC women’s basketball team.
The Chillicothe team featured two sets of sisters – Anne and Marion Nichols and Lillie and Sallie Snyder – along with their captain, a center named Grace Brown. The Scioto Gazette remarked that this team had won “many a victory,” unlike the UC women for whom this was their first competition as a team.
The UC women, decked out in black bloomers, white shirtwaists and red cravats, led at halftime, 4-2. Basketball was so new that rules differed between Cincinnati and Chillicothe. The Gazette [26 April 1901] reported:
“A little discussion arose during the first half, which caused a few minutes delay, over a technicality of the game regarding the manner in which the ball should be hit as it leaves the hands of the referee, the custom of the two teams differing somewhat. The entire game was remarkably free from dispute however, which added to its enjoyment.”
Chillicothe, clad in blue and white, came back strong in the second half, with three baskets from their captain leading to a final score of 8-10 in the home team’s favor.
After the game, the two teams adjourned to The Masonic Opera House where all enjoyed a performance of a play titled “The Bells” starring Creston Clarke and Adelaide Prince. They then convened at the Hotel Carson, where the out-of-towners were registered, for a reception that ran late into the evening. In addition to the team and coach, seven young ladies made the trip from Cincinnati.
No mention of this game appears in the UC yearbook for 1901. UC’s men took the hint and organized a varsity team that autumn. UC women would not gain varsity status for their basketball team until 1915, the year Beecher Hall opened with a women’s gym.
And the 1901 team? Marguerite Craig went on to become a policewoman in Glendale while holding a seat on village council before retiring to Florida. Alice Thornton played tournament tennis during a career as a music teacher. Alice Richardson married a manufacturing executive, moved to Columbus and raised three children. Grace Wright was the only player to graduate from UC, earning her baccalaureate in 1904. She worked as a librarian before marriage to a U.S. Army Lieutenant in 1910 and traveling with him to a post in the Philippines. Elizabeth Andrews died after a brief illness in February of her senior year. Coach Halliday married a dentist.
