Requested: Hank Voight x teen daughter reader, he finds out she's being bullied at school. - @meyocoko
Authors Note: Thank you so much for the request! This is my first Hank Voight Imagine, so I hope everyone likes it (that likes Chicago P.D.). My Hank Voight stuff will probably only be the reader being his daughter. Just FYI.

“Any cases?” Jay asked as he sat down at his desk.
Erin shook her head. It had been a slow day for the intelligence unit. “No its been a slow day.”
“Hmmm.” Voight hummed also listening to Erin’s answer. Even Voight was getting bored.
But when Trudy came up the stairs with concern on her face, that got everyone's attention. “Voight. Y/n’s principle is on the phone.”
“Thank you, Trudy.” Voight nodded and headed into his office and picked up the phone. “Hello.”
“Hello, Mr.Voight. I’m sorry for calling you at work.” Y/n’s principal apologized over the phone.
“It's not a problem. What's going on? Is Y/n alright?” Voight spoke with a tight voice. It was rare when the school called him so he was really worried but trying not to show it.
There was a pause on the phone before the person on the other side cleared their throat. “That's why I called there was an altercation and Y/n got very hurt so we’ve sent her to Chicago Med. We wanted to let you know and we also we’re hoping you could send down someone to talk to the kids responsible.”
“Yeah, I can do that.” Voight stated after a moment of silence. After that, the phone call ended and Voight shook his head trying to control his anger before exiting his office. “Ruzek and Linsdey head down to Y/n’s school and bring in the kids they’ll have there waiting for you back here to talk. Burgess call their parents and let them know that I’ll be pressing charges.”
“Voight, what happened?” Erin asked as her and the others started on their orders. All of them were now concerned about the teen girl they had all come to love and be very protective of.
“Some kids hurt Y/n bad enough that the school has sent her to Chicago Med.” Voight explained gruffly, trying to keep his worries and anger in check.
“What?!” Adam raised his brows in shock and he felt anger bubbling up on the inside. Much like everyone else in the room.
“Seriously? They just what? Let that happen?!” Jay was furious, he hadn’t known her the longest but even with his problems with Voight. Jay and Y/n had become close. They’d hang out, and go do things together. It bonded them. They’re friends. Y/n is like a little sister that Jay never had.
“Apparently. Look I’m going to Med to be with my daughter.” It unnerved the unit with how calm Voight seemed to be.
“I’ll come with you.” Jay said getting up to follow the older man.
“Let's go.” Voight nodded, he knew how close his daughter was to Jay. He might bring some comfort.
Everyone else headed off to do what they needed to do.
Once they arrived at Med, they went straight to the ED. Upon seeing his brother Jay called out. “Will!”
“How is she?” Voight asked as the redheaded Halstead appeared and stood in front of them.
Will let out a sigh, looking between his brother and Voight. “She doesn’t need surgery, which is the good news.”
As much of a relief that was it still left a question. “An the bad news?”
“About 70% of her body is covered in bruising, and she has a broken wrist, a few cracked ribs, and a laceration above her eye.” Will gave them a sad look. He to like a lot knew Y/n, and Will felt for the girl. She didn’t deserve this.
“Jeez Will.” Jay felt like throwing up. How could the school let it get this far? Or happen at all.
“I know.” Will nodded, he felt just like Jay.
“Where is she? Can I see her?” Voight asked keeping his feelings at bay for the time being. He was feeling to many things at once anyway.
“Yeah, right this way.” Will stated, leading them back to the trauma room Y/n Voight had been assigned to.
As they reached the room and saw y/n sitting up in the bed slightly leaning back. Probably to take pressure off her ribs.
“Hey, how about we go get copies of the injury reports and give them a minute?” Jay suggested with a tilt of his head. Wanting to give the father and daughter some space.
There were some moments of silence as Voight moved to sit down in the chair next to the hospital bed. It got to the point that Voight needed answers to keep his brain occupied. “Kid-”
“I know, dad.” Y/n cut him off nodding. Already knowing what he was going to say.
“What exactly happened?” he asked. He needed to know for many reasons but his main one and his focus now was just why and how this happened to his little girl. “Y/n.”
Y/n let out a sigh, knowing she had to tell him cause it was going to far and out of hand now. “It’s not the first time something happened.”
“You mean-”
Y/n nodded not looking at him. She couldn’t look at him. Not in the eyes. “It's normally not this bad.”
Now Voight was having an even harder time keeping it together. How could he not notice? How come she didn’t come to him? “Why didn’t you tell me? Or anyone?”
“I've tried before. To tell teachers bit either they do nothing or it just makes it worse.” She had thought about telling her dad or even Jay but if the school wouldn’t help how could they?
Voight shook his head reaching out for her hand, trying to get her to look at him. “I could’ve done something.”
“As a dad. Not as a cop. It wasn’t bad enough for cop involvement.” Y/n gave him a tight lipped sad smile.
She had a point and it bugged him cause he knew it was true. But now, this. This meant he could get involved as a cop, and a dad. “Well now it is and you can bet your ass I’m gonna do something about it.”
Y/n cracked a smile at him. “I don’t know who they should be more afraid of. You or Jay.”
“Combined force, sweetheart.”Voight gave her a half smirk half smile. Voight know she was right, he saw and could feel the anger coming off of Jay on the ride over to Med.
“Ohhh, deadly.” Y/n giggled wiggling her eyebrows and laughed. Even though they knew it was true.
Voight squeezed her hand for comfort before speaking. “You know you can talk to me right? About anything?”
He truly hoped she knew that. That she could come to him about anything and everything.
“I didn’t want to worry you.” Y/n shrugged but looked down feeling a little ashamed. That she didn’t tell him and that it happened at all.
“I’m your father. I worry even when your okay.” he told her sternly. He cared about her more than he could ever tell her. Or show her.
“I love you dad.” Y/n smiled at him grateful to have this off her chest, for him to know, and that he was by her side.
“I love you too.” Voight was gonna take care of this. An no one was gonna get in his way.

Unaccountable Pain
This is a Upstead x Platonic reader based on Season 7 Episode 13 "I Was Here". Reader is a patrol officer, she was with Kim in the motel room. This idea came to me after watching the episode recently. It's also my first time writing for One Chicago so tell me what you think!
"It wasn't your fault, sweetheart," Hailey's voice sounded calm, low tone intended to keep your worries away, but that was impossible.
Kim lost her baby today. You saw it, you were there when her whole world came falling down. You were supposed to back her up.
You had entered the motel room with Kim, ready to save the young girl from that monster disguised as a man. But none of you expected a second man to be on the inside. He came for you, twice your size, a scream of "I got him" from you urging Kim to go forward, reaching the bathroom where the girl was being drowned.
"It was," you cried out to Hailey, her own unshed tears shining on the dimly lit hospital room. The pain experienced today was unaccountable. With you and Kim in the hospital, Hailey and the whole district were devastated.
Hailey stepped closer to your bed, wiping the fallen tears from your bruised eyes. The door opens, and Jay enters with a sorrowful look, closing the door behind him.
"Hey, how are things here?" His voice carried the same tone as Hailey's, worried and caring for you.
Hailey looked at him with a sad smile, a smile that Jay was, unfortunately, used to seeing it. It meant she was sorry. It meant things were going to be okay but not exactly right now.
"You're going to be okay, Y/n. We're here for you."
A couple steps and Jay was on your other side of the bed, staring down at you.
You don't remember feeling this broken in a long time. Like nothing in the world could fix you up. But looking at the two detectives beside you, you knew you weren't alone. You didn't have to go through this alone.
The tears you've been holding from the moment they took you from that filthy hotel room come crashing down, two pairs of arms instantly holding you close.
The three of you stayed like that, holding each other for God knows how long. And in that moment, you truly felt like everything would be okay.

Perception
Perception - @midnightsconspiracy
Summary: Sometimes you need to put your heart before your head, especially when it comes to Jay Halstead.
Warnings: None
Word Count: 744
Requested: No
A/N: :)
Masterlist
Jay Halstead was a menace in your life, because, despite everything your head was telling you, you knew you would somehow end up in his bed sooner rather than later. He was just always there, with his stupidly handsome face and that annoying smirk he'd reserved only for you. And although you knew the rules Voight had laid out, 'no in-house dating', when he was standing there, looking so god damn good, your alcohol-fuelled brain just couldn't resist making a move.
And so that's where you found yourself, at god knows what time in the morning, carefully trying to manoeuvre yourself out of bed without waking the sleeping man. Wincing every time he stirred, you slowly managed to lift yourself off the bed, quietly reaching for your clothes that lay scattered around the room. Sneaking out of the bedroom, you made your way toward the kitchen, needing to find anything that would stop the incessant pounding headache that signalled your impending hangover. The water did little to quell any of your pain though, instead, you stood there squeezing your eyes shut, hands braced against the kitchen countertop.
In your moment of weakness, you failed to hear the slow footsteps coming up behind you, only realising once two arms found their place wrapped around your waist. Tensing up at the feeling, you opened your eyes, leaning into the man behind you.
"Jay…" you whispered, this wasn't the type of affection you wanted if you were to remain impartial, but you'd already given in. Sleeping with him once you could say it was a mistake, but twice, now that would be harder to justify. Plus this was just a one-night stand after all, wasn't it? You'd heard what he was like with other women as well, especially cops in your unit. And you weren't prepared to be just another Erin or Hailey, dating the man for a while until an inevitable break up. Or one of the many women he'd pick up at whatever bar he'd chosen for that night.
Reaching down, you pried his hands from around you, dropping them soon after to turn to face him. Though you'd originally expected him to bear a lusty face, one begging you to come back to bed, instead painted a picture of concern and disappointment. It was if somehow he didn't want you just for sex, and actually cared for you. But no, this was Jay Halstead after all, and you were nowhere near his league. Or were you?
"What are you doing up? I was hoping you'd stay the night at least," he asked, caressing up your arms in an all too affectionate way. "Really?" Now your head and heart were really torn. One way telling you to just let go, go back upstairs with him and just relax, have fun. But logistically, what if it didn't work? Then you'd have to return back to the unit as just another one of Jay Halstead's conquests, tarnishing the reputation and respect you'd fought so hard to gain in the first place. Pulling you out of your thoughts, he tilted your chin up initiating the eye contact he so needed to gain your trust. "Yes, I didn't just invite you out tonight for friendly drinks. Can't you see I like you?"
Retracting back into yourself, a confused look settled on your face. Not once in the thousands of scenarios you'd ran through your head was this a possibility. Him rejecting you, ignoring you, even humiliating you in front of the rest of the unit, those are the things you'd imagined, but not this. Your brain was struggling to comprehend the situation as he stood before you looking so genuine. He liked you? YOU!
Silence rang heavy through the air as you stood there working out what to say, your mind searching for the right words. "I don't understand, you want me?" Mumbling over your words, you somehow managed to form a cohesive sentence, watching as his face pulled up into a smile. Jay was surprised at the self-deprecating words that left your mouth, here stood a person so perfect in his eyes that he could fault a single thing, and yet you were surprised at his like for you. "Of course, I want you. Now how about we go back upstairs?"
Giving in, you let him grab your hand, leading you back up to his room to spend the rest of the night showing you just how much he liked you. Because maybe Jay Halstead was different from what you'd imagined after all.

Undercover – Louis Vega x Detective!Reader
Gif not mine. Credits to the rightful owner.
Fandom: Chicago P.D. / One Chicago
Pairing: Louis Vega x Reader
Summary: The Reader is an undercover detective. However, after getting to know Louis, they develop feelings for each other.
Trigger warning: 18+ content
Word count: 557
Your tongue traced Louis’s abdomen veins as you slowly unbuckled his belt. He had a firm hold of your hair, and as much as you didn’t want to admit it, you were hella turned on.
“God, you’re so hot,” he breathed, tightening his grip on you. You felt your blood painting your cheeks red as if you were a high school girl that had just been invited to the dance by her secret crush.
When you suggested to Voight to go undercover, ending up in Louis Vega’s bed wasn’t exactly what you had in mind. However, to say you weren’t satisfied with how your night had progressed would be a lie.
He let out a moan as your tongue started making slow circles around the top of his dick. His pre-cum was already on your lips, and you couldn’t help but moan as well. Admittedly, you enjoyed giving him head as much as he enjoyed receiving it, if not more.
He grabbed the sheets when you proceeded to fit his full length in your mouth. Deepthroating was more difficult than expected, yet you blew him as if your life depended on it. He ejaculated hard into your mouth after a few minutes, and you swallowed every drop of it, feeling proud of yourself.
He was still breathless when you returned from the kitchen, two glasses of water in your hands. “Thank you,” he murmured, emptying it in seconds. You let out a soft chuckle as you slowly drank yours. His eyes were fixated on your bare skin until you finally placed the glass, half-full, on his nightstand.
He wasted no time getting on top of you. He softly kissed your neck while his fingers traced patterns on your thighs. By that point, you were a whimpering mess, practically begging him to fuck you.
It took about five thrusts for you to cum all over his cock, and you pleaded he’d go on until you couldn’t take it anymore.
Three rounds later, he laid exhausted next to you. Nothing could be heard apart from your shaky breaths and the raindrops hitting his window.
In that quiet moment, the weight of your underground work pressed upon you, as you realized the lines between professional and personal life had completely blurred.
Louis turned to you, his eyes carrying a mixture of exhaustion and something deeper- an unspoken connection which went beyond the confines of your role.
“I’d love if we kept seeing each other,” he simply said.
You met his gaze, a surge of conflicting emotions rushing through you. The clandestine nature of your work made relationships dangerous, but in that moment, it felt like the rules didn't apply. The connection between you two seemed to defy the constraints of your undercover identity.
A soft smile touched your lips, and you nodded, your heart heavy with the weight of unspoken feelings. "I'd like that too," you admitted, realizing that the lines between your secret life and the potential for something real had become even more blurred.
As the rain continued to tap against the window, a silent agreement hung in the air—a shared understanding that, despite the risks, the connection between you and Louis was something worth exploring beyond the confines of your undercover role.

Promise
Fandom: Chicago PD
Characters: Jay Halstead x FemReader / Olivia "Liv" Halstead

Jay Halstead Materlist
A/N: Hello guys. So I’m not entirely in love with this, I’m sorry if it’s not that good and I'm sorry for being a little disconnected. As Olivia "Liv" Halstead is Maggie Elizabeth Jones. Hope everyone likes this original idea.
Don't be afraid to leave your comment!
----------
Being a kindergarten teacher had its perks. For once you worked with the young, creative minds and had the chance to potentially make a positive impact on them. But other times it really sucked, for example like a couple of hours ago.
You were in your classroom having lunch by yourself as usual. When one of your students Olivia came to you with a troubled expression. Obviously you thought the worst about it, call it instinct.
“Hi, miss Y/N” her sweet voice said as she took a seat in front of your desk. You smiled at her being met with a small one in return.
“Hello sunshine. Are you okay?” you asked immediately putting your lunch on pause and giving your full attention to her.
“I’m sad” she said casting her eyes down, this made you furrow your eyebrows
“Can I help you? We can talk about why you’re sad” you asked warily but gently giving her a sympathetic smile while you searched for her eyes
“I don’t want to make you upset miss Y/N” she said as she fiddled with her little hands.
Why would you be upset? But then again, Liv was probably the most selfless child you have ever met and obviously she would say something like this. Even in her short years of age she always thought of others first, she was a really empathic kid.
“Little miss Olivia. It’s alright to talk about feelings, they are valid, and you would never make me upset” you said in a serious manner as you nodded encouragingly
“Even if it’s sadness, Miss Y/N?” “Even if it’s sadness” you confirmed nodding
“I don’t have a mom for mother daughter day party” she said looking at you with big green doe eyes as if you held the answer to every question. But before you could say something, she continued.
“My daddy said my mom went to a place called heaven and that she watches over me” she said sighing as she crossed her arms over your desk placing her chin on top. At her words you sighed too
“My mom went to heaven too, when I was your age” you said lips tight as you tried to keep your emotions at bay
“Why?” she curiously asked, making you avert your gaze before looking back at her and mustering a smile
“That’s how life works. Sometimes heaven needs more people to help watch over us” you said taking a deep breath
But how could you explain the concept of death to a little girl. You were sure that her dad had done the absolute best at it. Although you had only briefly talked a couple of times between drop out and pick up, and at teacher parent conference day. Nevertheless never touching the topic about Olivia’s mother. Jay Halstead seemed like a really great father to this little girl and quite frankly you didn’t want to overstep. You were broken out of your thought as you heard a little sob,
“But I don’t want her there” Olivia said as her little voice broke slightly along with your soul.
“Oh Liv. I’m sorry. I promise you, it will be better, one day you’ll understand” you said as you reached her side. Kneeling to her height and caressing her head as you hugged her
That conversation going on in circles in your head as you waited patiently biting good mornings to each of your students and their mothers at the drop line. While there was another conversation taking place in a car, as the passenger was getting ready for the drop off at school.
“Liv I’m so sorry I can’t come to your get together” Jay said guiltily as he sighed looking at his daughter through the review mirror. He was heartbroken knowing he had hurt and possibly disappointed the only important person in his life.
“You promised you would come” Olivia sadly said as she blinked rapidly in order to not let the tears fall as she avoided her father’s gaze
“I know. I know baby. But I have to go chase bad guys remember” Jay said turning to look at her once he parked in the drop line. A pained expression took place on his face when he saw her little tears.
“Hey-” he started as he was about to reach for her hand, stopping
“I know…” she whispered disappointed brushing her tears away before Jay could see her, but of course he already had
Before Jay could muster a response the back door was opened, and Jay met your eyes. Big smile on your face as Olivia climbed out of the truck, hand in yours for support.
“Hello little miss Liv” you said enthusiastically but as a response Olivia mustered an unenthusiastic ‘hello’. You glanced at Jay again smiling sadly before Liv waved goodbye to her father still not meeting his eyes.
“Hi I’m sorry. She’s in a bit of a mood. I broke a promise” Jay said as sad eyes followed his daughters retrieving figure.
“No worries. I understand. I’ll look after her, she’ll have a good time, I promise” you said smiling,
“Thanks for that. Have a good day” Jay shared a smile as he shook his head before biting goodbyes
You both had a thing for each other, but neither had made a move upon it. You had always stayed professional for the sake of Olivia and so has he. There were always lingering looks at parent-teacher conferences, but they were ones of admiration. Add obviously the fact that you are his daughters teacher, so being in a relationship would stir up a lot of drama between the other parents including your superiors.
When you entered your classroom all of the mom’s were sitting with their kids already doing the activities and eating the snacks you had brought for the occasion. With the exception of Olivia, who was sitting at a little table all by herself and this stirred something inside you.
In the district Jay was struggling to concentrate and the guilt was eating him alive. The look and the tears that he saw on Olivia’s face hunting him relentlessly.
“Hey, didn’t you have little nugget’s mom-daughter thing today?” Kevin asked as he walked into the breakroom
“Don’t remind me. She’s gonna hate me” Jay said as he stirred his coffee
“Man. Don’t tell me you’re missing it” Kevin asked leaning besides Jay, being met with a hum in confirmation
“There will be more in the future, I just-” Jay was interrupted by the other detective
“Hell na, man. You go do what you gotta do” Kevin started looking at his friend like if he had grown two heads
“Kev-”
“Don’t let her down, bro. I’ll cover for you. Go” at this Jay looked at his friend trying to get his thoughts in place.
Kevin took a deep breath before taking ahold of Jay, dragging him into the bullpen and practically throwing Jay’s stuff in his arms before rushing him out to his truck.
“You go be a dad. I got your back” Kevin told Jay as the latter turned his truck on.
“Thanks, man, I’ll owe you big time” “Don’t worry about it, a beer at Molly’s can work for me”
Guiltily he thought of the brief conversation he had with Olivia and the mistake he would be committing if he didn’t make it. As he parked in the school he knew he wasn’t about to let his daughter be by herself, he wasn’t going to let her down.
Entering the classroom he looked over the heads and tables trying to identify his daughter. There she was on a table gluing something, but before he could move he saw you sitting beside her. Now noticing Liv’s laugh mixed with your own.
“So Liv, what’s your favorite color?” you asked as you colored the paper you had prepared for everyone, but Olivia didn’t respond. As you heard a gasp leave her mouth your head snapped up to her face following her eyesight to the door.
“He came, miss Y/N” Hazel excitedly said before leaping to her feet and running into her father’s awaiting arms, the latter picking her up kissing her cheek
“Hey baby!” Jay said with a smile on his face, as he saw how Olivia beamed happily
“Daddy you came” “Of course, I made a promise remember” he said matching her excitement.
At the same time he walked to the table Olivia was occupying as you stood up looking at them with a shy smile. When they reached the table Liv sat down explaining to her dad what she was doing, to which he nodded smiling with excitement. You took that as your signal to go back to your desk,
“Hey, uh, Miss Y/N” Jay said as he walked over to where you had stopped and turned to him
“Just Y/N it’s fine” you waved him off with a kind smile
“…Y/N-”
“I’m sorry for intruding-” “It’s-”
“She told about her mom; thought I could help” you rambled with a remorse expression waiting as you felt a hand being placed on your shoulder
“Take a deep breath” Jay said as he chuckled, to which you scratched the back of your neck nervously
“Thank you, you didn’t have to- but you did, and I really appreciate it” he said smiling sadly as you both looked back towards Olivia, before you shook your head again
“She’s a great girl, really smart” you said smiling slightly as you returned Olivia’s wave
“Yeah she is. That’s all her” he answered turning back to look at you
“I deeply apologize, the school should really mind what they write. If it was up to me it should be parent-child day” you said as you tilted your head, before Jay could answer another voice interrupted
“Dad. Can miss Y/N sit with us? She was going to braid my hair next” Liv said excitedly as she looked up to Jay
“Sure. If she’s not too busy, remember she has adult responsibilities” he answered looking down at Liv’s big eyes
“She’s not! She can teach you how to braid my hair, dad” Olivia answered. You bit your lips trying to fight the laugh that was trying to surface when you watched Jay’s mouth hanging
“Damn, why do you have to wound me like that, pumpkin” Jay said looking at you to see if you had heard. Shaking his head as you placed a hand over your mouth chuckling.

Chicago PD: Jay/Reader
I was always told to never drive angry. I was told to take a deep breath, and then drive. And maybe if I did, I wouldn’t have had to skid and swerve and hit the curb with enough force to know that my car would need to go to a shop. The moon had taken its place in the night sky, and thankfully I had stopped on a street that was lit with enough lamps to feel slightly comfortable waiting for a tow. Slightly.
Taking a needed breath to calm myself, I went through my contacts. It was a night off, one that didn’t come around too often. And one that needed to be taken advantage of. That also meant that there was a chance that Kim wouldn’t answer her phone. After a few rings, it went to voicemail. Knowing that Adam and Kevin’s would do the same, I still attempted to call only to end up with the voicemail messages.
Finally, I called Jay.
The phone was answered after one ring.
“Aren’t you meant to be on a date?” He asked chuckling. Behind his voice, there were people singing karaoke.
“Supposed to be.” I sighed. “Look, I know it’s our night off, but I need help.”
“Are you okay?” There was an edge to his voice that told me the humour he answered with was gone.
“I’m fine. I hit a curb, and something’s wrong with my car. I called a tow and I don’t want to wait alone.” I took another deep breath.
“Okay,” Jay said after a beat. “Send me your location, I need to pay my tab. Do you want me to stay on the line?”
“Sending it now, and no, I’ll see you when you get here.”
Thankfully I hadn’t stopped too far from Jay’s location, probably Molly’s, as his car pulled in behind mine ten minutes after we hung up. I opened the car door and stepped out.
“What happened?” Jay asked as he met me at my car.
“To the car or the date?”
“Both!” Jay knelt down and began looking at my car to see what kind of damage I had done. As he did, I noticed him looking up from the car at my outfit from the date.
“Well, I think I damaged the axel. Something ran out, I think it was a cat or something and I swerved and hit the curb.” I kicked the tire lightly as I explained. “As for the date, we sat down, and then he got a phone call. Turns out that another girl he was interested in was free and he left.”
“Wait, he stood you up after you guys got to the restaurant?”
“Exactly! Thankfully we didn’t order anything, because I’m sure I would’ve had to pay his bill too.” I pinched my nose. “I basically got angry and left after him and I wasn’t thinking straight.”
“Makes sense. The guy’s an idiot by the way.” Jay offered with a smile. I smiled back and shivered as a gust of wind blew towards us. “Do you want to sit in the truck?”
“Yeah,” I nodded and followed after Jay towards his truck. He opened the passenger side door and gestured for me to get in. Once he got in, he started the car and the heating came on warming us.
“Thank you.” I said after sitting in silence for a few minutes. “I appreciate this.”
“Of course. I saw you calling Kim and Kevin and figured I’d be next.” Jay shrugged his shoulders and I looked at him. “They were singing at Molly’s when you tried to call.”
“Oh.” I nodded. “I thought that was a dying whale and you were watching a nature documentary.” I joked causing Jay to laugh. “But seriously, thanks.”
“You’d do the same if it were me.”
Before I could reply, the tow truck arrived. I began opening the door and as I did, Jay raised a hand to stop me as he got out and made his way to the tow truck driver. I watched as he spoke with the driver as the car was hooked up and he took the information as to where the car was going to be taken.
“I know a guy, and he’ll probably be able to get the car running back to normal by tomorrow night.” Jay told me getting back in. He handed me a business card of the garage he sent the car to. “I’ll take you there tomorrow.”
“Oh, thanks.” I took the card and put it into my bag. “I can just call a cab and I’ll let you get back to Molly’s.”
“Are you kidding?” Jay looked at the clock. “It’s like seven, if you want, we can get something to eat. You said it yourself that you didn’t eat. Besides, you’re already dressed for a date.”
“Is this your way of saying you want to take me on a date?” I teased. Jay rolled his eyes.
“How about we just get something to eat?” Jay asked before starting the car.

It Feels Like Home
A/N: I started writing this while I was waiting for my laundry to be done at a laundry mat actually! I'm thinking of making a second part that is whumpy/angsty but the fluff came oozing out of me, so to set the scene and reason for Jay going to a laundry mat is this! Hope you enjoy and feel free to leave feedback and reblog if you so desire!
Watching her boyfriend walk towards the front door of their shared apartment with a laundry sack thrown over his shoulder like Santa Clause, she called out, "where are you going?"
Turning around, Jay replied, "the laundry mat to do laundry," he said it like it was a no brainier.
Eyeing him Hailey questioned, "why?"
Throwing the sack of dirty clothes on the floor in front of him, Jay took a breath and responded, "it's Wednesday. I do laundry every other Wednesday. And before you ask, I go to a laundry mat because it's what we did when I was a kid and I'm use to it"
Stifling a laugh, Hailey smiled and asked, "can I come on this adventure to the laundry mat or would that be intruding on a Jay Halstead tradition?
Smiling, Jay nodded and replied, "let's go then" and as Hailey jumped off the couch to throw shoes on, Jay laughed and picked up the sack and threw it over his shoulder again.
******
Walking into the florescent lit building, the sounds of several machines rotating in out of sync time could be heard and the sound of a trash tv show talk host could be heard from the singular television mounted on the wall.
"Welcome to the chaos" laughed Jay while walking over to an empty washer. Hailey watched as he loaded up the machine and inserted precisely 25 quarters into the machine.
She watched as two preschool aged children ran around them squealing with delight while they chased after each other. And the smile that danced across her boyfriend's face when he looked down at the kids didn't go unnoticed.
After the machine was started, Jay led them to the line of mismatched chairs. They both chose the school desk looking hard plastic chairs. While they sat, the screams of the children could be heard every so often.
"So, tell me again why you choose to come here and do laundry and not in the basement of our apartment building?"
Sighing, Jay thought for a moment and responded, "you see those kids over there?"
Eyeing the kids, Hailey asked, "yea what about them?"
"The girl is what like 3/4? And the little boy is what like 5/6? Based on the way the older one is engaging with her, they must be siblings. I remember growing up in going to a laundry mat down the street from us and also using the place as mine and Will's personal playground."
Smiling at the thought of Jay as a little kid, Hailey says, "that still doesn't explain why you like laundry mats. Plenty of people grow up going to laundry mats but when they are older they use what is in their building"
Sighing Jay thinks before saying, "when people see laundry mats, they usually see people who don't have enough money to have a washer or dryer in unit. But when I walk into one I'm transported back in time."
Confused, Hailey asked, "how?"
"All laundry mats are essentially set up the same and have the same florescent lights, one mounted television, and usually have carts that you can use to move your laundry from washer to dryer with. So when I walk into one and see the kids running around or the middle schooler doing homework at one of the plastic tables near the door, I'm reminded of when I was a kid, going to the laundry mat with my older brother and my mom every Friday. As elementary age kids, Will and I used the place as our playground. We use to play hide and seek, chase each other around, and sometimes Will would steal one of the laundry carts and push me in it. When we got older, I remember spending the 2hrs we sat waiting for our laundry doing homework and being embarrassed that i had to be at a laundry mat. But now that I'm older, I wish I could turn back the clock, cause it was 2 uninterrupted hours I got to spend with my mom and I wish I could spend another day with her." Pausing to swallow any tears that threatened to fall, Hailey understood,
"You come to the laundry mat not because you don't have a washer or dryer at home. But you come to be close to your mom."
"Yea, it's stupid isn't it" laughed Jay realizing his reasoning was dumb
Shaking her head, Hailey smiled, "I don't think that is dumb at all! I think it's sweet and I'm happy you felt you could share that with me"
And with that the two of them sat and listened to the squeals coming from the children, the sounds of the various machines, and the sound of the trash day time television tv host.
To anyone it would be irritating, but for Jay it felt like home. And Hailey was glad she got to be there.

Break in
Jay Halstead x reader
summary: when Jay's girlfriend is home alone while he's at Molly's, someone tries to break into their house
Y/n was looking disinterestedly through the fridge, closing it with a sigh when she couldn't find anything to eat that she felt like. It was a slow night, her workday had been quiet at the hospital, with only a few patients showing up.
Her boyfriend, Jay, had invited her to join him and the rest of the police department at Molly's. However, she refused, wanting him to spend quality time with his friends, feeling that she had already stolen him from them long enough after he took a few days to take care of her after she fell ill.
Detective Chuckles: Is everything okay out there? The guys miss you! Wish you could be here with me :(
The ringing of her cell phone snapped her out of her thoughts, a small chuckle escaping her lips as she read Jay's message. But she couldn't deny the butterflies that invaded her stomach knowing he was thinking about her. Their relationship was relatively recent, but they had never felt stronger love.
Jay once revealed to her that he realized she was the most important person to him when he was called on an undercover mission. They had only been dating for about 2 months. When he returned, after all the time they hadn't been together, he was shocked to see her waiting for him. He thought she had abandoned him, realizing that she couldn't live with his job, but he was wrong. He ran to her, picking her up and spinning her around a little, her laughter echoing through the room.
After answering his text, Y/n lay down on the couch, watching a movie while waiting for her boyfriend to come home. She didn't even notice when, halfway through the movie, her eyes started to get heavy, and she gave in to sleep.
She woke up again when she heard the lock on the front door click, almost as if someone was trying to get in. Too lazy to get up, thinking it was Jay trying to get in, Y/n tried to call him to remind him he had a key, in case he was already a little tipsy.
At the end of the second ring, the cop answered, but something made Y/n freeze in place, glancing at the door in alarm. She could hear the noise coming from the other people at the bar, meaning he wasn't the one at the door.
"Baby, you there? Is everything okay?" Jay's voice brought her back to reality.
"Jay, aren't you the one trying to get in by any chance?" her voice shook, still standing in the same spot on the edge of the sofa, now raised.
"What? Guys, shut up, I can't hear Y/n. Baby, I told you I'm at the bar with the rest of the group." his voice immediately became serious. "Why? What's happening?"
"Jay, I think someone is trying to get in." Y/n muttered, holding the phone tighter to stop it from falling due to the shaking of her hands. Her wide, frightened eyes were fixed on the door.
As soon as those words left her mouth, Y/n heard a noise on the other side — Jay was shouting something to Severide. Then, there was silence until the sound of Jay's jeep engine was heard.
"Y/n, I need you to listen to me very carefully. You go to our room and lock the door. Then you go to the bathroom and stay in the bathtub until I come and get you. No one else, just me. Do you think you can do that?"
From Jay's voice, Y/n noticed that he went into police mode, speaking calmly but with authority. In fact, this was just so he wouldn't lose control and be able to help his girlfriend, despite the fear that was spreading throughout his body.
"I need verbal responses, baby. Do you understand?"
"I understand." her voice shook.
"Good girl. Everything's going to be okay." Jay tried to comfort her, breaking all the traffic rules and having the sirens on to get home faster.
His heart was tightening in his chest, almost stopping him from breathing. He blamed himself, he knew he should have stayed at home with Y/n, and now she was in danger, and he couldn't protect her.
Behind him, Severide followed him in his vehicle on a 911 call.
"I'm scared, Jay." Y/n's scared voice caught the police officer's attention.
"I know, baby, I know. But I need you to be brave until I arrive. I won't let anything happen to you. I just need you to hold on and then we'll finally go to bed and cuddle. Does that sound good?"
"Yeah." She felt tears coming to her eyes but tried not to let them fall. Just like Jay said, she had to be brave until he came to save her.
Y/n then started to go to her room until she stopped halfway up the stairs when the front door handle stopped turning. For a moment, she thought she was exaggerating and it was just someone who made a mistake in the house. But the panic returned when the automatic rear light came on, indicating that someone had passed by.
Jay only heard the gasp she let out. "What? What's happening?! You need to talk to me, Y/N."
"I think they're trying to get in through the back. I don't know if I locked that door!" She stopped her speech suddenly. "Oh god, I just remembered I left Missy sleeping in the kitchen."
"Y/n, do not go in there just because of the fucking cat!"
Jay didn't even like the little furball who seemed to hate him from the moment Y/n started dating him. However, he knew that his girlfriend would never forgive herself if something happened to the cat.
"Don't scream at me! I would be such a bad owner if I didn't come back to get my cat."
"I don't care about the damn cat when you're in danger!" Jay argued, but he knew Y/n was already heading downstairs to get Missy.
When Y/n arrived, she quickly found the animal on the dining table, looking super calm, an emotion quite contrary to what Y/n was feeling. Picking her up and quickly kissing her head, the girl thought about what her next step in the plan would be: go back up the stairs or find another place to hide.
However, the intruders finally opened the door, and the choice became obvious. Y/n quickly ducked and hid behind the kitchen counter so she wouldn't be seen. On all fours and with Missy under her arm, she grabbed a knife and tried, as silently as possible, to head towards the pantry.
"Y/n, don't go silent on me. Tell me what's going on. I'm three minutes away."
"They're here, Jay. I'm in the pantry with a knife." Her breaths were ragged and shuddering. She had to put her hand over her mouth to stop herself from crying. "I was so stupid. Why didn't I do what you said? I'm sorry."
"Don't apologize. God, don't apologize, sweetheart." Jay muttered with a heavy heart, running his hand over his face in despair, never having felt greater helplessness.
"They're getting closer." Y/n whispered, closing her eyes and holding her hand in front of her mouth so you wouldn't hear her heavy breathing. Jay slammed his hands on the steering wheel, clenching his jaw and thinking about what he could say to his girlfriend. "I love you, Jay. So much."
"Don't say that like it's goodbye, Y/n. I can't take it." He shook his head, using all his strength not to break down and burst into tears. "I'm almost there. One minute."
But Y/n was no longer able to respond. That's because a man, dressed all in black, entered the kitchen and looked around. She was peeking through the pantry bars, hoping he wouldn't be able to hear her and that Missy kept quiet.
She just had to hold on for one minute. Jay would be there on time. Either way, she held the knife in front of her, ready to attack. But deep down, she knew she had no chance against the muscular man. Very easily he would be able to throw her down and take the knife from her. But she wouldn't go down without a fight.
She knew that if it came to that, she would have to try to scratch him to get his DNA under her nails. That way Jay and his team would have a better chance of catching this man.
The man got closer and closer to the pantry. Y/n's hands were shaking uncontrollably. She just wanted to close her eyes and discover that it was all a nightmare. But as much as she wanted to, this was reality and the fact that she could die that day became more and more real and scary.
She didn't want to die without kissing Jay one last time. Without calling her parents to tell them she loved them. Without telling her best friend she should take the first step and text the boy she liked. She wanted to be a mother. She wanted to marry Jay and experience an eternity with him.
But just as she was ready to run out with the knife pointed at him as soon as he opened the pantry door, the man was pulled aside. She heard a moan of pain followed by things falling to the floor. Y/n wanted to go out and see what was happening, but Jay's words echoed in her head: stay hidden until he came to get her.
And then came immense relief. She heard sirens. Before she could process everything that was happening, the pantry door opened. Y/n, in a moment of panic, got up and tried to attack, the person easily dodging and putting his hands up in defense. It was only then that she realized that the person in front of her was Jay, and the intruder was on the ground, bruised, and being arrested by another police officer.
Missy, with all the commotion, quickly ran up the stairs, probably hiding in the guest room until things calmed down. In turn, Y/n dropped the knife on the floor, her face contorting and her lips trembling. She began to cry, finally releasing all the panic and fear she felt. She was pulled into Jay's arms and into his chest.
With his arms around her, feeling his warmth and the movements of his chest, Y/n finally felt safe. Jay kissed her head, saying words of comfort in hopes that she would calm down.
"Jay…" she cried, grabbing his shirt with a very tight grip.
"I'm here, baby. I'm not going anywhere. It's okay. You're safe. Shh…"
Jay then just pushed her away slightly, holding her face with both of his hands. "Are you hurt?"
"No, I'm okay. I was so scared."
"I know, baby. But you were so brave, I'm so proud of you. And I'll never let this happen again, I promise." he gave her a small kiss on the lips, pulling her back to him. She would never disappear from his sight again.
"Hey, sweetheart." Gabby's voice broke the moment between her and Jay. Y/n she turned her head to look at the woman she adored so much, only now realizing that Severide and Brett were watching the scene from afar. However, she continued to grab Jay's shirt, ensuring he stayed close to her. "Do you mind if we go to the ambulance just to make sure everything is okay?"
A moment of hesitation. Brett, realizing the problem, stepped forward and with a gentle smile said, "Jay can come too."
So, Y/n nodded in permission, following the paramedics to the ambulance. Outside, there were two more police cars and neighbors were in front of their houses in their pajamas to see what was going on. Always under Jay's arm, Y/n waited for Dawson and Brett to do their assessment, ensuring that everything was really okay.
After ensuring that there was no need to go to the hospital, despite a lot of resistance on Jay's part, Y/n won the argument with the condition that the next day, Will would stop by to check on her. But at that moment, Y/n just wanted to sleep with Jay next to her.
Once in bed, the man had one arm over her protectively, making sure there was no space between them. "I will protect you until the end of my life. I love you."
"I love you too." she looked at him with just love in her eyes. Finding a more comfortable position, Y/n closed her eyes and tried to sleep.
But Jay stayed up all night. The most important thing is that Y/n recovers after that traumatizing night. And if she had any nightmares, he would be there to protect her.

Choose Your Lover - @midnightsconspiracy
Summary: Joining the intelligence unit is nerve-wracking, but what happens when you have a crush on multiple members and they seem to also make advances towards you
Warnings: None
Word Count: 981
Requested: No
A/N: THIS IS A CHOOSE YOUR OWN DESTINY STORY FOR EITHER HANK OR JAY DEPENDING ON WHAT YOU PICK. YOU’LL BE GIVEN TWO OPTIONS AT THE END OF EACH CHAPTER, SO CHOOSE WISELY.
Masterlist
In the heat of the moment, your place sounded like a viable option, but it seemed your judgment may have been a bit off. Not only was the parking a nightmare and the place a total mess, you'd forgotten entirely about the person that was your roommate. Your house share was a situation of convenience really, both lacking the funds to live separately. And so with the sheer speed at which you were willing to move in, had the unfortunate circumstances of your living situation occurred. But, you hadn't always had such a complex relationship, in the beginning, you'd been friendly enough. You'd take turns cooking for each other, partake in the occasional movie nights and on multiple occasions she'd even invited you to tag along to a night at the bar with her friends. Things had gone south from there though, her once nice attitude had turned sour within a matter of hours, leaving your friendship broken without the possibility of ever being repaired. What had occurred that night that caused such irreparable damage you would never know, but still, you tried to be as civil as possible, going about your life without the need for conflict. It never occurred to you that bringing Hank back would be such a problem, you had your own room and were respectful of any boundaries she had set out. But as both of you came bounding through the door, smiles plastering your faces without a care in the world, her voice rang through the air, bursting your once perfect bubble.
"Y/N! What are you doing? I thought we'd established, no visitors on weekdays!" Screaming from the top of the stairs, she narrowed her eyes at you, completely disregarding the man beside you. Not only were you completely mortified at her lack of respect for you in your own home, but also for Hank, who awkwardly stood beside you not wanting to add any more fuel to the fire. Not caring about the consequences of your words or actions, you continued getting comfy in your own home, taking off your outdoor clothing while encouraging Hank to do so also. This woman was not going to ruin your chances of securing a date. "If you're going to create rules without me knowing, then expect me to break them." Grabbing the Sargeants hand, you quickly pulled him upstairs, giving a small wink to your roommate as you headed in the direction of your room.
Slumping down on your bed, you gave Hank a small smile, an apology that the night you'd expected to go so well had brutally turned in the other direction. Mortified by your roommate's actions, you stared up at the ceiling, embarrassment radiating off your body as you thought about what had just occurred.
Hank on the other hand felt quite amused by the situation. He, in the past, had experienced a situation quite similar, also having an equally distressing tenant reek havoc in his life. And so he wasn't going to let you dwell on it, instead laying down next to you, grabbing your hand to encase it in his own. The gesture comforted you slightly, thanking the stars he wasn't angry at you for ruining the evening. At that thought, tears pricked your eyes, your fresh start had been compromised against your will, and again you would have to find a new unit to join. You wouldn't be able to bear the thought of seeing him at work each day, the memories popping up at the sight of his face. And if he told the others in the team, god you'd be the laughingstock of the district. Y/N Y/LN, the person who tried to get with her boss and failed miserably.
Pulling you out of your thoughts, Hank held your cheek, rubbing away the tears as they fell.
"What's going on in that pretty head of yours?" He questioned, a comforting smile playing on his lips. "Im sorry," you cried, hiding your face in your hands. "I ruined everything by bringing you back here, and I made you feel so uncomfortable by including you in our drama, and you probably just came here to sleep with me and now im crying." Babbling on you failed to notice the amused grin that now graced the man's face, how you'd gotten everything so wrong. "Hey, hey, listen to me, you haven't ruined anything at all, if anything it was her fault, she had no right to intervene in your business." Pulling your hands away from your face, he proceeded to tuck your hair back exposing your red eyes and runny nose. "A-are you sure?" You mumbled back surprised at his actions. "Yes, I shouldn't have asked to come back here. You deserve a proper gentleman, someone whose willing to take you on a date first. I’m sorry if I made you feel otherwise." Tugging you towards him, he brought you into his arms, smiling down at your sad face. He'd never been one to sleep with someone before going on a date, and God did he want to take you on a date. In the heat of the moment, he'd just been so desperate to touch you he'd forgotten his traditional values, something his father had always drilled into him from a young age, that women were people to be respected. And to him, you were someone more than special, someone who deserved way more than just a one night thing. "Maybe we should just forget this all happened. Tomorrow morning I’ll take you on a date to my favourite place in Chicago. Sound good?" "Sounds perfect."
In the end, that night didn't go to waste. And so as you drifted off into a content sleep tucked up in the man's arms, you thanked the universe. Because although it works in mysterious ways, sometimes a bad situation will have a very good outcome.

married man | j. halstead
request:Can you do a Jay Halstead x Reader. They are both married and have a child together. The child just started pre-k or kindergarten and since the reader is heavily pregnant Jay has been dropping off and picking up their kid. And maybe like the single moms are flirting with Jay since they think he might be a single dad but they get surprised when the reader picks the kid one day after giving birth.
pairing: established (married) fem!reader x jay halstead
word count: 1.75k
warnings: none??
a/n: dad!jay dad!jay dad!jay !!!!! they have a little boy (his name is dylan) and a newborn girlie (what should her name be)
------
Grumbling as the alarm went off, you blindly reached over and whacked Jay on the chest. “Why’s it have to be so loud?”
Jay chuckled, silencing his phone’s alarm. “It’s not even that loud, babe.”
You glared at him through narrow eyes. “If I wasn’t about to pop right now I’d give you a piece of my mind.”
Letting out a hearty laugh, Jay got out of bed and folded his portion of the comforter back up, trapping the heat for you. “Only a few more weeks, babe. Then you’ll be able to move without having to pee every two seconds.”
You slowly followed Jay, yawning and rubbing the nine-month bump as you headed into the kitchen to package your son’s lunch.
He had recently started kindergarten, and loved telling you and Jay about all his escapades with his classmates as he learned different things.
“I could’ve done that, you didn’t have to get up.” Jay said, popping a capsule into the coffee machine and starting it.
Shrugging, you zipped the lunchbox closed and set it next to the matching blue backpack, one hand going to rub at the sore spot on your back. “I knew I wasn’t going to be able to fall back to sleep.”
Jay noticed, and his hands slowly made their way to the exact spot that bothered you in your first pregnancy. “Who do you thinks going to ask me out today, hm?”
Laughing softly, you clicked your tongue at Jay. “You really enjoy that, don’t you? Miss getting hit on?”
Jay shook his head. “Don’t miss it one bit. Just enjoy seeing those soccer moms think their whispers are quiet.”
A few weeks ago Jay had mentioned that some of the moms at drop-off had been talking about Jay, commenting on his lack of wedding band and no significant other ever at drop off or pick up.
“Momma, when will you go to school with me?” Dylan asked, your son finally making his appearance in his pajamas.
“Soon, little bug. Once Little Sister is here, I’ll drop you off with Daddy some days.”
Dylan frowned. “Can Sissy come now?”
You huffed, wanting nothing more than to deliver the weight that seemed to be constantly on your bladder. “I wish, but I think she needs a few more weeks.”
Jay smiled into his coffee cup, phone chiming with a text from Hailey. “Come on, Dyl. Let’s get dressed so you can show your friends your new shoes.”
Dylan beamed at the thought, and followed Jay back to his room, leaving you alone in the warm kitchen. The aroma of coffee lingered as you found a chair to rest in, hand absently tracing circles over your distended belly.
A sigh of contentment escaped you; this was your world, and despite the groggy mornings and occasional aggravations - like trying to convince Dylan to brush his teeth properly - you wouldn’t change it for anything else. That was the beauty of family - it wasn’t always perfect, but it was yours. And that made all the imperfections precious in their own odd way.
The sound of Jay's voice pulled you from your thoughts as he asked Dylan to choose between two shirts. You smiled, knowing how seriously your little boy took these morning decisions. Sipping on some water and slowly standing up, you decided to start breakfast.
The scent of eggs and bacon soon filled the room, joining the still lingering coffee aroma. Dylan would be excited; he loved his simple morning breakfasts. As you were flipping an egg, Jay returned with Dylan in tow. Their matching grins caught your eye.
“What are you two up to?” You questioned playfully, adjusting your hold on your bump.
“Nothing,” they both chimed in unison, their grins growing even wider.
“Okay,” you drew out the first syllable, grabbing a plate and moving the eggs for Dylan to eat, blowing on them as you cut them into pieces.
“Eat, then Daddy will bring you to school.” You smiled, cracking a few more eggs and grabbing a tortilla and the toppings you knew Jay liked, quickly making a breakfast wrap for him.
Wrapping it in foil, you smiled to yourself as you heard Jay helping Dylan put on his sneakers.
“Ok, we gotta go, Little Man! Go give Momma a kiss.”
Dylan skipped over to you, wrapping his little arms around your legs, promising you he’d come home with a drawing to put in the nursery.
Thanking him, you smiled at Jay as he grabbed the wrap and his badge, stopping to press a kiss to your forehead. “Take it easy today, babe.”
“I will. Go break hearts and catch perps, Jay.”
——
Jay hid his eye roll as he followed Dylan to the drop off location, ignoring the looks from the few single mothers nearby.
“I mean, who in their right mind wouldn’t grab that ass? He’s such a good dad, too.”
Jay overheard one of the mothers and shook his head, stifling a laugh. He still found it amusing and somewhat flattering to know that he was the topic of their little gossip circle. But he also knew firmly where his heart lay - at home with you and Dylan, and soon, your new little girl.
As Dylan scampered off towards his classroom, he turned to Jay with a big grin. "Daddy, do you think I can tell Mrs. Johnson about Sissy coming soon?"
Jay bent down to his level, ruffling his hair affectionately. "Of course, buddy. I'm sure she will be thrilled to hear it."
At that moment, a pair of giggling women walked by, shooting him suggestive glances over their shoulders. He merely smiled politely before turning away.
Arriving back at the car, Jay pulled out his phone and saw a text from you: Feeling better now that the house is empty. How did drop off go?
He quickly typed back: Smooth as always. He's telling all his teachers about his soon-to-be little sister.
Satisfied, he started the vehicle and headed towards the precinct. His phone chimed again with your response: That's my boy! Take care at work, Jay.
He chuckled as he imagined you grinning at your phone, feet kicked up on the coffee table even though you often chided him for doing the same thing.
——
The routine didn’t shift for the next few weeks, but the gossiping mothers were surprised when Dylan was dropped off by Will one day, Jay at the hospital where you were currently resting with the newest addition to the family.
“Uncle Will, can we see Momma and Sissy after school?” Dylan asked, tugging on his uncle’s hand.
"Of course, buddy," Will replied with a soft smile, watching as Dylan's face lit up with joy. "I bet they can't wait to see you."
Once Dylan scampered off towards his classroom, Will indulged in a moment of silence. He was used to the emergency room's relentless noise and bustle, so the unfamiliar hush of the school yard in the early morning was a welcome respite. A group of mothers were huddled together, shooting glances his way. Perhaps he was becoming part of their gossip routine now too - he silently hoped otherwise.
Meanwhile, at the hospital, Jay could barely tear his gaze away from you sleeping peacefully, the tiny bundle in his arms a testament to your strength and love. His heart swelled in his chest at the sight; you looked more beautiful than ever, your face radiating an exhausted but blissful glow as your daughter, their daughter, clung onto his finger with her small hand.
Just then, she stirred awake and let out a soft whimper which turned into a loud wail. He quickly got up and started to gently rock her, not wanting her cries to disturb your much-needed rest.
“Hey there, little princess,” he cooed softly as he bounced her gently in his arms. “Let’s not wake Mommy up now.”
After a few minutes of gentle rocking and hushed lullabies - Jay trying his best to remember the ones you sung to Dylan when he was an infant, the baby quieted down, blue eyes peering up at her father.
“Hi, munchkin. You already have half of Chicago’s first responders wrapped around your finger.” He whispered, soft smile at his lips as he thought back to the replies from his team when he sent the photo of the baby in the group chat.
"The other half is itching to meet you. Just wait until Uncle Will gets a hold of you. You're going to be spoiled rotten." He laughed softly, mindlessly tracing a finger over his daughter's tiny forehead.
His phone buzzed where he had left it on the bedside table. It was a message from Will letting him know that Dylan had been dropped off at school and asking if they could come by after school to see the baby.
Jay's heart swelled, even more, knowing his son was equally excited about his little sister's arrival. Jay quickly typed a response, assuring Will they would be more than happy to have visitors later in the day.
——
The day passed in a flurry of nurses checking vitals and bringing meals, phone calls from family and friends, and quiet moments spent marveling over their newest addition. Dylan was bursting with energy when Will brought him by after school, his wide eyes taking in everything with an infectious excitement that had everyone in the room smiling.
"Momma, Sissy is really small!" Dylan whispered in awe as he approached the bed, carefully peering over the edge of the bassinet.
You chuckled at his innocent observation as Jay helped him climb up onto the bed to get a better look. "Yes, she is," you agreed with a fond smile. "You were that small, too, Little Man!”
Dylan looked at you with wide eyes, shaking his head. “Nuh-uh!”
“Mhmm!” You replied, fixing his shirt as he squirmed to get another look at his sister.
“When can you and Sissy come to school?” He asked, looking at you.
Jay laughed quietly, and you looked at your husband. “Soon, Dyl.”
——
Two weeks later, you consoled the crying baby as Jay helped Dylan put his backpack on. “Can Sissy come meet Mrs. Johnson?”
Shaking your head, you carefully strapped the little girl into her carrier, softly rubbing her cheek. “Not yet. Maybe during the spring concert, but she’s still too little.”
Jay stood up and grabbed his keys. “She can help Momma and Daddy drop you off, though. That sound good?”
Dylan’s face lit up at the thought. “Yeah! Everyone will get to see her!” He jumped excitedly before Jay guided him out the door.
Satisfied with your successful early morning, you carried the baby carrier to the car and buckled it in securely at the back seat. Moving around was still a little tough for you but you were slowly getting the hang of things. You climbed into the passenger side, glancing back at Dylan who was squirming in his seat with anticipation.
The drive to the school was filled with Dylan's non-stop chatter about what he was going to show his little sister. Jay had a soft smile on his face as he listened to his son, occasionally glancing at you in admiration and shared joy.
Once they arrived in front of the school, Dylan unbuckled himself and carefully opened your car door for you. “Be careful, Momma!” He cautioned, making Jay chuckle as he followed behind with his son’s backpack.
You smiled, letting Jay go ahead with Dylan so he wasn’t late, working to unstrap your daughter’s carrier so Dylan could see her one last time before he was in school.
“Jay, haven’t seen you the last few days. Is everything okay?” One of the mothers who had tried to hit on Jay asked, faux worry on her face.
Jay wore a smile as he turned to the woman, Dylan's hand tucked safely in his own as they made their way toward the school entrance. "Yeah, everything’s great, actually. My wife just gave birth to our second child," he responded casually, nodding his head towards the car where you were carefully lifting the baby carrier.
The woman blinked in surprise before offering a tight-lipped smile, "Oh, I didn’t know... congratulations."
"Thanks," Jay replied with a nod before turning his attention back to Dylan whose bundle of excitement was barely contained. As Jay opened the door for him to enter he looked into the bright eyes of his son and smiled reassuringly, "You ready?"
Dylan nodded eagerly, already tugging on his father's hand to drag him inside. Jay followed docilely, striding up the hallway towards Dylan's classroom.
Meanwhile, you were still out by the car, struggling slightly with the baby carrier that seemed to weigh even more than your now two-week-old daughter. A few mothers noticed and stepped forward to help you, their faces lighting up at the sight of the infant bundled up against the cold.
"Oh she's absolutely adorable!" One woman cooed, and you recognized her from when Jay was telling you how one of them started to wear low-cut tops after he started doing drop off duty.
You walked with them to the doors, smile brightening when you saw Jay and Dylan at the door, the young boy wanting to say goodbye to his sister.
“Bye, Sissy! Bye, Momma!” Dylan smiled, giving his sister a kiss and hugging your legs, unaware that his farewells caused the mothers who had walked with you to gasp lightly.
Jay’s smile widened at Dylan's display of affection, ruffling his son's hair gently, "Alright, champ. We’ll pick you up later. Have a great day at school."
Dylan nodded eagerly before disappearing into the bustling school building with his teacher. The remaining mothers turned to you, their surprised expressions replaced by warm, slender smiles as they admired your little girl.
Back in the car, you laughed as Jay started the ignition. “Think I felt the daggers from some of the moms when they found out you’re married.”
Jay snorted, turning back to the road to your house. “Well, that or when they found out we have great sex. Either way, watch your back, babe.”
You gawked at Jay’s remark, hitting him in the chest. “Jay! Your daughter is listening!”
“Oh, she’ll hear worse when Ruz babysits her." ------ a/n: send requests if you wanna!!

Could you do an established relationship jay halstead x petite reader? She’s in the fbi, has a PhD, and is quite young. (She’s like 25-27) She’s shy and pretty innocent. Jay introduces her to the unit. When they meet her they don’t see how she’s an fbi agent. Then the fbi takes over a scene and she’s a total badass. Jay is proud and he’s like that’s my girl.
Jay Halstead- My Girl
I absolutely loved this idea! I had so much fun writing this one. I hope you enjoy!
No one knew about Jays girlfriend, in fact everyone thought he was single. So when Jay arrived at Molly’s with a petite woman on his arm, everyone was shocked to say the least, even more so when Will gave her a hug and the pair looked like they have known each other for a while. The noise of conversation and clinking of glasses filled the air as they made their way to a table in the corner. It was a Friday night, a rare occasion for Jay and his colleagues to be out all together.
As they sat down, Erin, his partner, was the first of Jays coworkers to greet the couple
“Im so happy you could come. Who is this lovely lady, Jay?" she asked, her tone laced with curiosity.
Jay smiled proudly and replied, "This is YN. My girlfriend. She works for the FBI." YN, who was naturally shy and reserved, gave a polite nod but said nothing. Erin's eyes widened in surprise, she looks over to Jay shock written all over her face
“Oh wow you’ve kept her quiet Jay” Jay just shrugs in response.
Through the evening the drinks flow, but YN continues to stay quiet, just observing the space around her
“So FBI huh? You seem too quiet and innocent for that line of work”
YN simply smiled and shrugged, used to this reaction from people who underestimated her based on her demeanor. She was well aware of her ability to blend in and appear unassuming, a skill that served her well in her line of work. She knew that her quiet nature was one of her greatest assets, allowing her observer others and gather crucial information for her cases. As the night went on YN and Jay finished up the evening and headed off back home.
YN sat in her car, staring at the building in front of her. It’s been 2 weeks since she met Jays coworkers and now she’s been asked to help the intelligence unit with a tough case. She steps out of the car and strode confidently towards the entrance, her gun hidden securely in its holster.
As she entered the building, she was greeted by the sight of her boyfriend Jay and his boss Voight, both standing in the lobby, waiting for her
“YN thank you so much for coming” Voight says holding out his hand. Immediately YN takes his hand in hers, shaking his hand
“No problem, happy to help”
“Please follow us” Voight takes YN to the bullpen where the rest of their coworkers are standing around a bulletin board
“You all remember YN” Jay says first
“She’s joining us on this case” voight tells everyone who greets the girl
“So what do you know so far?” YN says getting straight into the case
“We know that Doms father owned a huge farm down state. When she died Dom inherited 30 million” Antonio hands over the case file to YN who takes a look at all the information at hand “he took out 10 million 2 days before he went missing” YN looks up at the team
“Did anyone actually see him though?”
“Taking the money out?” Jay asks
“At all”
“What are you saying?” Erin frowns
“I dont think he’s missing. Did you get the autopsy report on the mum?”
“No, she died of natural causes” Antonio crosses his arms
“Are you positive on that? I want to see an autopsy report somethings just not adding up”
unwavering, her determination driving her to catch the criminal at any cost.
YN got what she needed, the autopsy report showed that Doms mum did not die of natural causes, in fact she was poisoned slowly over time. YNs theory of dom not being missing made him their first suspect.
As they neared the location where Dom was believed to be hiding, YN's instincts kicked in. With a nod to Jay, she signaled that it was time to make their move.
They burst into the building, guns drawn. YN's training kicked in
“On the floor, now!” YN shouts pointing her gun at Dom “keep your hands where we can see them”
In a matter of moments, Dom was apprehended. Jay and the rest of his team watch the girl they once thought of as quiet become this confident woman. Jay watches on, feeling a sense of pride and love. That’s his girl who he’s extremely proud of.
