Help...why did I find this incident so funny..
Yesterday....we were talking to our math sir and we all love him coz of his nature and ofc he makes math easy for us...so back to the point, we were asking whether we were getting a holiday tomorrow for Cheti Chand and a student got up and said is there a holiday on Thursday on account of ramzan...and my sir literally told him ,'' woh to depend karta hai ki unka Chand kab aata hai" (trans: it depends when there moon will come)
Note: no offence to any religion just take this lightly..my sir just loves to joke

15 Delicious Ugadi Special Foods and Why They're Special
Tumblr media
In South India, especially in places like Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and parts of Goa, there's a special celebration called the Ugadi Festival.
It's a big deal here because it marks the beginning of the New Year according to the Hindu calendar.
This year, on April 9, 2024, everyone will be gearing up for Ugadi. And you know what's really exciting about Ugadi?
The food! Yep, you heard it right. Food is a huge part of any celebration in India, and Ugadi is no exception.
If you happen to be in Bangalore and want to make some special dishes for Ugadi at home, you're in for a treat!
There's a whole bunch of 15 easy Ugadi special Food Recipes waiting for you to try. So get ready to cook up a storm and celebrate!
About Ugadi Festival
As I mentioned earlier, Ugadi Festival is like the New Year's Day for folks in Telugu and Kannada communities in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka. It's celebrated with lots of enthusiasm and joy.
In Maharashtra, it's called Gudi Padwa, and for the Sindhi community, it's known as Cheti Chand. Telugu people call it Ugadi, while Kannadigas refer to it as Yugadi.
The name "Yugadi or Ugadi" comes from Sanskrit words where 'Yuga' means 'age' and 'adi' means 'beginning'.
So, basically, it means 'beginning of a new age'.
During Ugadi, people buy new clothes, clean their homes, offer prayers, and decorate with beautiful rangolis.
And you know what's really cool?
There's a special dish called Ugadi Pachadi that they make, which represents the different experiences of life.
It's like a symbol of life's ups and downs, all in one tasty dish!
Significance Of Ugadi Festival
Now, let's talk about why Ugadi is such a big deal. Apart from being the New Year's Day, Ugadi is steeped in mythology and stories.
Some say it's the day when Lord Brahma started creating the universe after a long meditation.
Others believe it's the day when Lord Rama was crowned king of Ayodhya, marking the victory of good over evil.
And then there's a tale about Lord Krishna leaving Earth, marking the start of a new era called the Kali Yuga.
Despite Krishna's departure being seen as sad, the Kali Yuga is supposed to bring positive changes.
So, you see, Ugadi is not just about parties and food; it's also about remembering these stories and the lessons they teach us.
Ugadi Food
Alright, let's get to the best part - the food! Ugadi Pachadi is one of the star dishes of Ugadi. It's special because it has six different flavors - sweet, salty, spicy, sour, astringent, and bitter.
Just like life, right? It's a reminder that life is a mix of all these emotions.
Then there's something called bevu bella, which is a mix of neem leaves and jaggery. It's unique to Ugadi and loved by many.
Along with these, there are other yummy snacks and sweets that people make, creating a feast fit for a celebration!
Oh, and if you're wondering, most of these recipes are easy-peasy and even vegan-friendly.
Conclusion
So, there you have it - Ugadi Festival in a nutshell! It's a time for new beginnings, delicious food, and joyful celebrations.
Whether you're in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, or anywhere else, Ugadi brings everyone together in the spirit of happiness and togetherness.
So, here's wishing you all a Happy Ugadi! Enjoy the festivities and the yummy food!
