Elegant Crab Brulee with a Savory Twist
Ingredients:
1 cup lump crab meat 1/2 cup heavy cream 1/4 cup whole milk 2 large egg yolks 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 1 teaspoon lemon juice Salt and pepper to taste 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese 1 tablespoon sugar (for topping)
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine the lump crab meat, heavy cream, whole milk, egg yolks, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix gently to avoid breaking the crab meat. Divide the mixture evenly among ramekins and place them in a baking dish. Fill the dish with hot water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the ramekins to create a water bath. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the crab brulees are set and slightly firm to the touch. Remove the ramekins from the water bath and let them cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Before serving, sprinkle a thin layer of sugar on top of each brulee and use a kitchen torch to caramelize the sugar until golden brown. If you don’t have a torch, broil them in the oven for 1-2 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning. Serve immediately and enjoy your elegant crab brulee! How to Make Mutton Biryani at Home
Craving a flavorful, aromatic mutton biryani? Here’s how you can make this delicious dish from scratch, right in your own kitchen!
Ingredients:
500g mutton, cut into pieces
2 cups basmati rice
1 large onion, thinly sliced
2 tomatoes, chopped
2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
1/4 cup yogurt
Whole spices (bay leaves, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom)
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp red chili powder
1 tbsp garam masala
Fresh coriander and mint leaves
2 tbsp ghee or oil
Salt to taste
Water for cooking rice and mutton
Instructions:
Marinate the Mutton: In a bowl, combine the mutton with yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour (overnight is best for deeper flavor).
Cook the Rice: In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add a pinch of salt and whole spices like bay leaves, cardamom, and cinnamon. Add basmati rice and cook until it’s 70% done. Drain the water and set aside.
Prepare the Mutton: In a pan, heat ghee or oil. Sauté onions until golden brown. Add the marinated mutton and cook until the meat is tender and the oil separates from the masala. Add chopped tomatoes and cook for a few minutes.
Layer the Biryani: In a large pot, layer half of the cooked mutton, then add half of the rice on top. Sprinkle fresh coriander, mint leaves, and some fried onions. Repeat the layers with the remaining mutton and rice.
Final Cooking (Dum): Cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid or seal it with dough. Place the pot on a low flame for 20-30 minutes to cook the biryani on “dum” (steam cooking).
Serve & Enjoy! Gently fluff up the biryani before serving. Pair it with raita or a fresh salad, and enjoy your homemade mutton biryani!
