Asks about VaM, art advice, and miscellaneous stuffs
HI! Real quick please refrain from referring to Sad Sack as S/S for the uh... Obviously reasons LOL We call it "sads" for short!
If what you're asking for are recommendations for a website to host that kind of thing, Neocities, Twitter, Itchio and as you mentioned AO3 are all perfectly good options! Patreon too (depending on how gnarly you're planning on getting) but I'd suggest keeping that as a secondary host option because I don't think it lends itself super well for getting your work circulating. I believe Bluesky allows that kind of thing too, but I'm not too sure since I don't use it.
Now, If you're asking about public reaction rather than guidelines, anywhere you go you might find people that don't jive with the work you do 🤷 just be upfront about the type of content you're making right off the bat to avoid having anyone stumble upon it by accident to the best of your abilities, otherwise, I wouldn't worry too much. I know we're constantly exposed to examples of overwhelming harassment and "dogpilling" happening to others but... Truth be told, most of us won't ever get to the size/internet level of fame where we experience that. I think the threat is a little bit... Overstated, nowadays. Not to mention that most of the time people are getting harassment for things that have nothing to do with their work, and rather relating to their behavior and attitudes. Play smart, be responsible, and be honest! Whatever comes next is in god's hands LOL
Thank you for the ask! Not sure I was of much help 😅 but frankly when you're just starting out it's best to focus on getting the work done first and just throwing it out there, wherever it may be. You can worry about technicalities like that later!
I GOT YOU MAN the full sketch is now up on my patreon!
YES AND YES WHETHER IT BE STORIES OR ART OF DU DROW AND YOUR CHARACTERS SLAMMING PINTS TOGETHER BE MY GUEST PLEASE
I love seeing everyone's take on my weirdo so much, anything is honestly welcomed!
AW DUDE thank you so much! Especially for suffering through the mammoth of a story that ANE turned into - writing has never been my strongest point so I'm always shocked to hear from people that enjoy it 🥲
About the booze question, honestly I'm not picky at all, I usually go by price and by that I mean whatever is cheapest LOL but I prefer a dry white as far as types go.
You only have to pay for it once! You get a code that unlocks the software and all of it's features and you're free to cancel your subscription after that. At some point the code might change or there might be an update that requires subscribing again - but that seems like a very rare occurrence so I wouldn't worry about it.
OH NO I HAVE DEFINITELY TRACED MY OWN REFERENCE BEFORE, but not entire poses! When something is challenging I'll make a point of drawing it out the usual way.
I can remember a couple of instances from Nick and mine's comic where I traced pictures I took of myself, just as a time saving measure. Again like I said in the post, there are several ways to employ tracing your own material that is perfectly acceptable. I have also traced bare-bones 3D backgrounds that I made for the same reasons.
I know you specifically asked about tracing when something's complicated, but I still wanted to be upfront to demystify the practice under different circumstances. The rule of thumb is to never use it when you know it would be inhibiting your skill development!
Happy to hear you wanted to pick up the skill! I definitely understand the urge too LOL since playing BG3 and becoming so invested in the stories and characters my art has improved a ton, simply from forcing me out of my usual style and making me want to capture different moods and scenarios - finding something you're passionate to draw is, frankly a great damn start.
I replied to a bunch of asks asking for pointers and advice a while back, one of the questions was very similar to yours and I still stand behind the advice I gave then. Hopefully you can find something helpful here! https://meanbossart.tumblr.com/post/740543514692173824/some-art-advice-asks-ive-been-meaning-to-reply
HMMM I don't usually think of myself as the best teacher/tutorial guy, but funnily enough I can think of a few things about this topic that I could elaborate on lol. If I do that in the near future, I'll put it up on my patreon (for free as with everything else.)
If there are any specific things about it that you (and anyone else who would be interested in it, for that matter) find challenging and would like for me to focus on, let me know!
---
That's all for now folks, and as usual thank you so much to everyone who's left a nice compliment, word of encouragement or funny tidbit in my inbox as well! I can't reply to you all individually, but I see and read all the messages I get c:
HAVE A LOVELY REST OF YOUR WEEK
#lore asks coming either later today or tomorrow!#I might reply to a few right now/space them out rather than do another compilation#we'll see how I feel about it!#ask compilation

A local agency not only understands the market dynamics but also has the advantage of being easily accessible for those who live near. Here’s a guide on how to find a well reputed digital marketing agency near you, what to look for, and the benefits of working with them.

Use search engines, business directories like Yelp, and platforms like Google My Business to compile a list of agencies. Local community websites, forums, and social media groups can also provide recommendations. Pay attention to the agencies’ reviews and ratings, as these can give you an idea of their reputation and the quality of their services.
2. Analyze the Agency’s Expertise
Once you have a list of all potential agencies, check their websites to understand their offerings. Reach for agencies that specialize in the areas of digital marketing that are most important to your business, such as SEO, PPC, content marketing, social media management, or web development. Agencies often showcase their previous work and case studies on their websites, which can give you a clear understanding of their capabilities and the types of clients they served.
3. Look for Industry Experience
It’s necessary to choose the right agency that has experience in your specific field. Whether you are a retailer, or in the healthcare sector, real estate, or any other sector, an agency with relevant industry experience will be able to better understand your business’s challenges and opportunities. They will also have a better grasp of the competitive landscape and the digital strategies that work best within your industry.
4. Access Their Communication and Culture

6. Compare proposals of different agencies
After lessening down your options, request proposals from the evaluated agencies. These proposals give you ideas about their strategies, timing, services, and charges. You should Compare the proposals not just on the basis of cost but also on the outcomes from their services they offer.Best option can not always be a cheapest option and the cheapest option is not always the best; focus on the agency that provides a clear, and great results-driven strategy that aligns with your business goals.

Choosing a nearby digital marketing agency has many benefits. Local agencies are more likely to have a deep knowledge of the regional market and consumer behavior. This can be beneficial for small businesses that target local customers. Additionally, it allows for easier communication and collaboration, with opportunities for face-to-face meetings that can strengthen the partnership. A local agency can also provide ready to fit support, which is beneficial for considering urgent marketing needs or responding to market trends in real-time.
Conclusion

By choosing a nearby agency that aligns with your business needs, you can create a strong, collaborative partnership that drives your business’s digital marketing growth. Best E-commerce SSL Certificate 2024
Introduction to SSL Certificates
SSL, or Secure Sockets Layer, certificates are small data files that encrypt data transmitted between a web server and a browser. When installed on a web server, they activate the padlock and the HTTPS protocol, ensuring that all data passed between the web server and browser remains private and secure.
Why SSL Certificates are Essential for E-commerce
Why do you need an SSL certificate for your e-commerce website? Imagine walking into a store and feeling unsafe about handing over your credit card. You’d probably leave, right? The same goes for online shopping. SSL certificates build trust, protect sensitive information, and are crucial for PCI compliance, which is necessary if you accept credit card payments.
Types of SSL Certificates
There are several types of SSL certificates, each serving different purposes:
Domain Validated (DV) SSL
DV SSL certificates are the most basic type. They verify the domain name, ensuring the website belongs to who it says it does. They’re quick to obtain and ideal for blogs or informational sites.
Organization Validated (OV) SSL
OV SSL certificates offer a higher level of security. They not only verify domain ownership but also the organization behind it. These are suitable for businesses and e-commerce sites.
Extended Validation (EV) SSL
EV SSL certificates provide the highest level of security and trust. They require thorough vetting of the business and activate the green address bar in browsers, showing users that the site is highly secure. This is perfect for high-profile e- sites.
How to Choose the Right SSL Certificate
Choosing the right SSL certificate depends on several factors, such as the type of website development services in India you have, the level of trust you want to convey, and your budget. Ask yourself these questions: Do you need a single-domain, multi-domain, or wildcard certificate? What level of validation is necessary? How much are you willing to spend?
Top SSL Certificate Providers
Several companies provide SSL certificates, but some stand out for their reliability and customer service:
Symantec
Symantec (now part of DigiCert) is renowned for its robust security solutions. They offer a range of SSL certificates suitable for all types of websites.
Comodo
Comodo provides affordable SSL certificates with various validation levels, making them a popular choice for small to medium-sized businesses.
GlobalSign
GlobalSign is another top provider, known for its high-quality SSL certificates and excellent customer support.
Customer Reviews of SSL Certificates
Customer reviews can be incredibly helpful when choosing an SSL certificate. Look for feedback on ease of installation, customer support, and overall satisfaction. Websites like Trustpilot and G2 are great places to start. Remember, a product that works well for one person may not be ideal for another, so consider multiple reviews before making a decision.
GoDaddy SSL Certificates
GoDaddy is a well-known name in the domain and hosting industry, and they also offer SSL certificates. They provide a range of options, from DV to EV certificates, with competitive pricing and robust customer support. Many users appreciate the convenience of managing all their website needs under one provider.
SSL Certificate Prices
SSL certificate prices can vary widely based on the type and provider. Here’s a general breakdown:
DV SSL Certificates: These are usually the cheapest, ranging from free (e.g., Let’s Encrypt) to around $50 per year.
OV SSL Certificates: These typically cost between $50 and $200 per year.
EV SSL Certificates: These are the most expensive, often ranging from $200 to $1000 per year.
While it might be tempting to go for the cheapest option, consider the level of trust and security you need for your ecommerce site.
GoDaddy SSL Prices
GoDaddy’s SSL certificate prices are competitive:
DV SSL Certificates: Starting at $63.99 per year.
OV SSL Certificates: Starting at $159.99 per year.
EV SSL Certificates: Starting at $299.99 per year.
Installing Your SSL Certificate
Installing an SSL certificate can seem daunting, but most providers offer detailed guides and customer support to help you through the process. Generally, you’ll need to generate a Certificate Signing Request (CSR) from your server, submit it to your SSL provider, and then install the issued certificate on your server.
Maintaining SSL Certificate Security
Once your SSL certificate is installed, maintaining its security is crucial. Regularly update your server software, use strong passwords, and monitor your certificate’s expiration date to ensure it doesn’t lapse. Renewing your certificate before it expires helps maintain continuous security.
Common SSL Certificate Issues
Even with the best SSL certificate, you might encounter issues such as:
Mixed Content Errors: Occur when secure and non-secure content is loaded on the same page.
Certificate Mismatch: Happens when the domain name in the certificate does not match the URL.
Expired Certificate: An expired certificate can lead to security warnings for visitors.
Most issues can be resolved by following troubleshooting guides provided by your SSL certificate provider or seeking help from their customer support.
Conclusion
Choosing the best SSL certificate for your e-commerce site is a critical decision that impacts your site’s security and your customers’ trust. By understanding the different types of SSL certificates, reviewing customer feedback, and considering your specific needs and budget, you can make an informed choice. Whether you opt for a GoDaddy SSL certificate or another reputable provider, ensuring your website is secure is a step in the right direction.
FAQs
1. What is an SSL certificate and why do I need it? An SSL certificate encrypts data between your website and visitors, ensuring secure transactions and building trust.
2. How much does an SSL certificate cost? Prices vary: DV certificates range from free to $50/year, OV certificates from $50 to $200/year, and EV certificates from $200 to $1000/year.
3. What is the difference between DV, OV, and EV SSL certificates? DV verifies domain ownership, OV verifies the organization, and EV provides the highest security with thorough vetting and a green address bar.
4. Can I get an SSL certificate for free? Yes, providers like Let’s Encrypt offer free DV SSL certificates, suitable for basic websites and blogs.
5. How do I install an SSL certificate on my website? Installation involves generating a CSR, submitting it to your provider, and installing the issued certificate on your server. Most providers offer detailed guides to help you through the process.
By taking the time to secure your e-commerce site with the right SSL certificate, you not only protect your customers but also enhance your site’s credibility and trustworthiness.

An effective online presence in the digital age requires a website that useful as well as attractive. Selecting the ideal agency is essential for successful web design and development projects.
Exploring the key requirements for selecting the right web design and development agency-
Portfolio and Expertise- Examine the agency's portfolio to judge the level of expertise and quality of the work they do. In a subject similar to your business or industry, look for experience building and designing websites. Check out their past works' designs, usability, and user experiences. This will give you a better understanding of their technical know-how, design abilities, and ability to produce products that adhere to your goals and requirements.
Understanding of Your Business and Goals- Your company, industry, and target market should be well-understood by a web design and development company. They ought to take the time to hear about your objectives, difficulties, and particular website requirements. A company that is familiar with your industry can offer insightful analysis and suggestions to improve the efficiency with which your website accomplishes your goals.
Collaboration and Communication- For the design and development of websites, effective teamwork and communication are vital. Make that the business has a successful process in place for communicating, managing projects, and delivering regular updates. Open and honest communication puts everyone on the same page, avoids misunderstandings, and advances the project. Pick a company that actively involves you in the design and development process, values your input, and respects your thoughts.
Responsive Design and Mobile Optimization- In today's mobile-first world, responsive design and mobile optimization are paramount. A reputable web design and development agency should prioritize creating websites that are fully responsive and provide a seamless user experience across different devices and screen sizes. Ask about their approach to mobile optimization, ensuring that your website will look and perform flawlessly on smartphones and tablets, enhancing user engagement and maximizing accessibility.
SEO and Website Performance- A well-designed website should also prioritize search engine optimization (SEO) and website performance. Inquire about the agency's approach to optimizing websites for search engines, including factors like site structure, meta tags, page load speed, and mobile-friendliness. A website that is optimized for SEO and performance will rank higher in search results, attract more organic traffic, and provide a better user experience.
Support and Maintenance- Websites require ongoing support and maintenance to ensure their smooth operation and security. Inquire about the agency's post-launch support services, including bug fixing, updates, backups, and security measures. A reliable agency will provide long-term support and be available to address any issues or implement necessary updates promptly. Additionally, ask about their scalability and the ability to accommodate future growth and website enhancements.

The Impact of Price Consciousness on Customer Journey Mapping
As a strategy consultant who has developed many customer journey analyses, I have found that product categories with cost conscious buyers are the most difficult to map. These are usually products that are purchased by the vast majority of consumers with varying degrees of willingness to pay, which necessitates the presence of a wide spectrum of viable options at various price points. This often results in numerous potential pathways through the customer journey map, which make it challenging for companies to pinpoint the optimal approach for attracting and retaining customers.
One good example of a product category that fits the description above is men’s suits. This is a product that is almost universally needed by consumers and features endless brand options across price points. To illustrate the complicated nature of customer journey mapping, we can use a standard “cradle to grave” arc that flows as follows: Awareness > Research > Buy > Share > Complete. For the sake of explanation, let’s only consider two types of customers: Customer A’s primary purchase criteria is low price, while Customer B’s primary purchasing criteria is premium quality. Using the customer journey map outlined below, we can see the significant divergence between the two customers in terms of thought processes and actions:
Awareness
Customer A: advertisements of potential deals and/or discounts (e.g., BOGO, 20% off) catch the customer’s attention
Customer B: slick advertisements via traditional or social media that tout the product’s quality pique the customer’s interest
Research
Customer A: customer leverages the internet to compare the discovered deal/discount with offers from other brands to find the most affordable option
Customer B: customer does detailed research (e.g., brand websites, YouTube reviews, word of mouth) to evaluate the discovered brand vs. alternate brands and may even visit physical stores to compare different options
Buy
Customer A: customer will make purchase based solely on price, likely in a very quick manner after identifying the cheapest option
Customer B: customer will make purchase based on what they perceive to be the highest quality option, which could take months to decide
Share
Customer A: customer does not discuss suit purchase with others given that the purchase was functional in nature
Customer B: customer talks about suit purchase with people in their network given they previously discussed the potential options with their network during the Research stage of the journey
Complete
Customer A: when in need of a new suit, customer will once again seek out the lowest price option regardless of satisfaction level with the current brand
Customer B: when in need of a new suit, customer will return to the same brand if they are satisfied with their purchase
Given the vastly different journeys outlined above, what does this mean for companies looking to better understand their customers? While there are likely many different approaches to tackling this dilemma, one potential option for maximizing the efficacy of customer journey maps in better understanding customer needs is to pre-identify the “core” customer. Companies can deploy various analyses (e.g., consumer interviews, consumer surveys, consumer segmentation, etc.) to identify their target consumer. With this information, companies can avoid getting lost in the never-ending thread of customer pathways and instead build a detailed customer journey map that is specifically tailored to their customer archetype.

So the thing about the M4, the AR-15’s military cousin, for a dangerous and efficient weapon of war it has a myriad of problems. Stove pipes, feeding problems, misfires, and even the barrel over heating. In fact there was an incident in 2008 in the mountains of Wanat Afghanistan where an extended firefight happened, the barrels of the M4 couldn’t take the abuse and overheated to the point of melting and warping. The military had been ignoring the issues for a while, but as of now we’re having trials for a replacement. Colt is currently making improvements to curb the problems of the M4, and Sig Sauer even has a rifle we’re considering as a replacement.
Basically military grade just means what’s cheap and adequate, sometimes below adequate, sometimes the military doesn’t give a shit, it’s cheap send it out.
This guy goes into better detail
https://youtu.be/Szezd1_q7Tw
youtube
Military grade means the government will buy it because it meets or exceeds the minimum standards they need and is the cheapest.
That's the running joke at least.
Quote gets tossed around from person to person, no real clue who ACTUALLY said it I don't think Shepard is another option.
Dropped into a website trying to explain how that particular quote is wrong, did a bad job of it.
It's just lacking nuance, which I added up there in my bit "meets or exceeds the minimum standards they need"
Obviously other things come into play but cost is important, and the end result isn't always good.
And if I'm seeing things right the M16 was developed off of the AR-15's design, which is new info to me.
Either way though 'military grade' should be cheap, reasonably reliable, easy to repair if needed, and simple enough to maintain that even a Marine can do it.
But they don't need to pay for them out of their own pockets, civilian market does so they're not going to buy cheap crap (usaly Hi-Point is still in business, credit for this one tho.
I forget who it is on here that got one of these.
Point being civilian market doesn't want military grade unless they don't know what that means.
If it's good enough for our boys it's good enough for me should be a reason to tighten the standards for what is considered "military grade" except maybe for body armor which is cheaper to replace than a soldier so spend the extra money on the good stuff that gets them home in one piece.
Or I could be wildly wrong about a whole lot of this, I'm going off of what I consider to be common sense.

Supernormal: a horror videogame with an immersive experience
Supernormal is a horror video game developed by Hitori De Productions, featuring a chilling and haunting experience. The game focuses on supernatural elements, creating tension and fear through its gameplay and narrative. While specific details about the gameplay and story are not available from the search results, it can be inferred that the game is designed to provide a terrifying and immersive experience for players. The search results did not provide an in-depth description of the gameplay or story of Supernormal. However, it is clear that the game falls within the horror genre, focusing on supernatural, chilling, and haunting experiences. For more detailed information about the game, it is recommended to refer to official sources, such as the developer's website or official press releases.
Some aspects of the gameplay in Supernormal include: Exploring the apartment, which is neat and orderly but has signs of something amiss, such as blood spattered on the piano. Interacting with various objects and environments to uncover hidden secrets and clues. Enccountering randomized scares, which may vary each playthrough. However, the game has been criticized for its reliance on horror movie tropes and stereotypes, as well as its limited replayability due to the randomized scares. Despite these criticisms, Supernormal has been described as a "silly, schlocky, and sometimes genuinely unsettling" experience.
Supernormal can be purchased on various online game stores, such as GG.deals and Steam. GG.deals offers the cheapest CD key for the game, while Steam is a popular platform for purchasing and downloading games. It is also possible that the game may be available on other online game stores. It is recommended to check the official website of the game or the developer for more information on where to purchase the game.

Summary of Will Wright’s Masterclass on Game Design and Theory
18 key takeaways from the creator of Sims
Games give us the opportunity to see the world through different perspectives. All of us are set in our own little world view. We think we see the big picture, but we really only see a little slice of it surrounding our lens. Games allow us to experience different world views than the one we are used to through play and story. Play is just exploring, experimenting, trying different things. Genres of games simulate different types of play in the real world but with very low cost of failure.
As a game designer, you are creating a toy, one which the player turns into a game as they interact with it using their imagination. You want to create something unique, but also relatable to the masses. Game design involves not just the computer in front of you, but also the computer that is the player’s brain. You create a storyline for your game, and the player builds on that storyline based on the actions they choose in the game.
You can leave it to the player to decide what is the win-state. When Will designed Sims, he was really creating an open-ended toy, and it’s the player that decides what type of city they want to build, and they’re creating their own rules for scoring.
Game technology amplifies player creativity. It used to be that you had to have great technical and fine art skills to be able to create something and show it to others, but now within games, it’s easy for anyone to create new characters and worlds and share them. For many players games are an outlet for not just entertainment but also creative expression.
Game ideas can be developed through circling a topic from many different views. Will gets his game ideas from deep diving into a subject of study that interests him, looking at an initial game concept from maybe even 20 different angles, building out sketches and models, and slowly zeroing in on the 2 or 3 that works best and developing them in detail.
Build the cheapest simplest prototype and test it. Take an agile approach to figuring out what works and doesn’t work. Don’t invest more money and time than necessary to figure out the questions you need answered in development. Keep it simple and efficient.
You are getting the player to build a mental model in their head. Human behavior is derived from mental models. In building mental models, we take in data, look for patterns, schemas, weave them together to form ways of thinking, and use that to decide how to behave. In a game, you are trying to create a world of possibilities through which the player can interact with based on these mental models.
Enable player communities. There are casual players, browsers, collectors who like to download themed collections of things others have created, webmasters who build collection websites and have others contribute to them too, and the core creators who are feeding these websites. For many players, their involvement in the gaming community is a part of their personal identity.
Allow the player to take control and go into a flow state. Design the game so that the player doesn’t feel like they’re just getting on for a ride, but actually controlling the ride. Challenge them just enough so that it is not too boring or too difficult, but is right at the edge of their ability so that they can enter an enjoyable flow state. Allow the player the freedom to choose the difficulty level, but entice them with rewards to take on greater challenges.
Create nested loops of success and failures and make fail states light and humorous. You can have multiple challenges going at the same time, some taking longer than others. Just as in learning in real life, the more times you fail, the more you learn and the better you get. Iterations are key. To entice the player to keep trying, make sure the failures are understandable so they can learn from it, and light-hearted and enjoyable.
Develop a game language. This is the system of signs and symbols that you use to communicate with the player and influence their behavior in the game. Game nouns are the objects and people that the player can interact with in the game, game verbs are the actions they can take, and game adjectives are the subjective characteristics of the game that influence how the player feels. Common metaphors and archetypes can be useful. Design visual and audio aesthetics to enhance your game language.
Develop the game mechanics. These are the rules of the game. Think of what interactive experience you want to deliver and work backward to figure out the rules. Keep the mechanics somewhat of a black-box though, because then the player may start to see more than there is. Due to randomness, sometimes situations will emerge where it seems it was programmed when it wasn’t. Make sure though that the outcome of the game actually depends on player agency and not just chance. Play games with an analytical mind and start identifying mechanics in other games and collect elements you like for your own game design.
Use feature triage to determine scope and recognize when you’ve reached the local maxima. Feature triage is when the designers work with the engineers to prioritize the list of possible features to build by comparing their relative cost and value. When it seems no matter what you change you’re making things worse, you’ve reached the local maxima of your current design. There may still be a better design, but you’ve essentially reached the best version of your current design.
Play test as early as possible. Run a kleenex test, where two people who’ve never seen the game before test it out together without any instructions, and see if the game is able to convey what it’s meant to. This will reveal where there are differences between how you intended something to be interpreted and how it is actually interpreted. They won’t always say to you directly or exactly what the problem is. For example if the testers give suggestions for improvement, you should reverse engineer where they could’ve had problems that would’ve led to those suggestions. In the next test, use a brand new set of testers, never the same ones, that’s why it’s called the kleenex test.
Use metrics as guides but know they aren’t everything. When someone is reaching for the controller excitedly and saying let me try that, or they don’t seem to want to stop playing, those are obviously good signs. For more systematic measures, you can look at things like failure rates across different player types. Sometimes the demographic you initially target may not be the actual ones that your game becomes most popular with. Focus groups can have misleading results because participants are not game designers. You cannot describe a game concept in a focus group and expect participants to reliably imagine their experience playing it.
Have a great pitch and choose your revenue model wisely. A good pitch focuses on the player experience and inspires you to wonder how the game works and start imagining playing it in your head. There are many ways to monetize, but free to play models usually won’t work for small independent developers. It’s usually only roughly the top-paying 5% of the audience that generates majority of the revenue, so you’ll need heavy mass marketing investments to generate a large enough player base for a free to play model to be sustainable.
Study systems in the natural and social world to adapt them into your game design. Common game dynamics such as growth, allocation, destruction, and evolution all exist in the real world. Study paradigms such as cybernetics, system dynamics, cellular automata, chaos theory, and network theory. Design to encourage emergent behavior. Introducing even simple rules layers within your system can create incredibly complex unpredictable outcomes.
Game design draws from many different fields. It incorporates learnings from not just things like entertainment and storytelling, but also architecture, product design, fine art, mathematics, cognitive psychology. For example Sims started from the concept of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. You can actually study anything, make it interesting, approachable and interactive, and it becomes a game.
These are just the ideas I found most insightful. The full course, which is 4 hr 16 min, can be viewed at masterclass.com

Best Print on Demand Supplements Online Upsell Strategies
The nutritional supplement industry is fiercely competitive, and it shows no signs of slowing down. It is expected that the industry will continue to grow rapidly, with new businesses sprouting daily. It means that the plethora of print on demand supplements and similar products in the already flooded market will continue to compete for the ostensibly insignificant market share.
To outperform your competitors while remaining true to your customers, you must develop a truly unique concept to drive your marketing campaign. Upselling is a very powerful tool for an eCommerce website, bringing in additional revenue and increasing brand loyalty in an entirely new way.
WHAT IS UPSELLING?
Upselling is a sales technique used to persuade customers to place a higher-value order than planned. It means purchasing an additional item, upgrading, or purchasing a package deal rather than purchasing only the original, lower-value items. Upselling is something you’ve probably seen on the internet. When done correctly, upselling can help to improve and streamline your customers’ overall shopping experience. You’re providing a more cost-effective solution to their original problem. Which can result in a win-win situation for both the consumer and your eCommerce store.
5 UPSELL STRATEGIES FOR YOUR ONLINE PRINT ON DEMAND SUPPLEMENTS
1.The Shopping Frenzy
OTOs or One Time Offer upsells are a common strategy for printing on demand supplements. The first upsell in your funnel is critical because it creates a buying frenzy state of mind. It acts as a cascade, resulting in multiple yeses to upsells in your print on demand supplements. It’s very common to sell more of the same as the front-end offer, at the same discount or lower price.
2. The Upsell Strategy Based on Value
The value-based upsell strategy works very well for print on demand supplements because you usually need more of the supplement down the road. However, you can apply this strategy to other consumable products as long as the offer is compelling. The offer here is all about getting a good deal. You must offer a deal that is too good to pass up. There are people who will buy anything if it’s on sale, and it’s the psychology you’re using for this upselling. You’re offering such great value that it’s difficult to pass up. Another important aspect of making a value-based upsell work is not changing the product.
3. BOGO (Buy one take one) Strategy
Simply offer them more of what they just purchased. So, if they just purchased three bottles of your supplement, offer them more bottles at a lower price than they just received. This upselling simply offers a lower price in exchange for more volume. So, if they purchased three bottles of your supplement at $49 each, your first upsell would be something like, “Buy two more bottles at $39 each.” It’s a value-based upsell if the price per bottle on the upsell is lower than the price per bottle on the front-end offer.
4. Supersize their Order
Another way to make a value-based upsell work is to offer a larger version of what they just purchased. Assume your store sells items in various sizes. Because the smallest size is the cheapest, it is usually the most popular choice for your customers. It is especially effective for products like supplements and subscription-based services. A larger version of the front end can be larger. So, if you sell a 2-pound tub of protein mix on the front end, follow up with a 5 or 10-pound tub. It is the colossal way to upsell.
If the cost and shipping fees on a larger version allow you to make more money by upselling, which is the best thing for your print on demand products.
5. Create Urgency
In conjunction with a limited-time offer or campaign, upselling can do wonders for your eCommerce business. You could give customers cashback if they spend more than $50, or you could give them a freebie or a tester if they buy a specific product. The benefit of an urgency-focused campaign is that you can use it throughout your sales process. It can be a great reason to send an email marketing campaign to your existing customers. It can be used as a countdown banner on your landing pages or as a pop-up reminder on the checkout page.
THE FINAL TAKEAWAYS
To keep your print on demand supplements at the top of a highly competitive market, you must be consistent and diligent. Consumers place a high value on marketers, and by implementing these strategies, you will be driving home your message to increase brand awareness and sales. The strategies we’ve highlighted above will be completely indispensable to your brand’s success when properly implemented.
However, if you don’t have high-quality supplements to sell, these upselling strategies won’t help your business succeed. And this is where Fulfillplex can come in handy. i don't know how to explain to people that it's really not about playing the game or liking harry potter. The point is that whenever you buy something you're giving to the seller an implicit agreement. Adults and older teens playing the game are all aware that we live under capitalism and that the only power costumers have is to decide HOW to spend our money. Especially money for leisure. Boycotting hogwarts legacy wasn't just about sending a big fuck you to jkr or to the nazi developer. It was your only chance to send a message to big corporations like warner bros that you care about how entertainment is made. the same way you care if your shoes are made by children or if your avocados are destroying the amazon forest. In a capitalist society money are a form of consent to the producer/seller. The point is that, you do need shoes and sometimes even if you don't want to you'll have to buy the cheapest shoes and you won't be sure they're made by respecting human rights. BUT you NEED shoes. What you don't need is a videogame. It's not about the morality of playing a videogame, even if the game has blatant nazi propaganda in it. I personally don't think you're a bad person for playing a game. If you can't live without it, if you really wanted to play the game, you could have AT LEAST WAITED. Once the game is out, it's out. It won't disappear. You didn't have to pre-order it. You didn't have to buy it the second it came out. You could have waited a month, 2 month. You could have waited just enough that it would have sent a message to the creators. It would have made warner bros made a statement. There would have been interviews, discussions and everything. They would have spoken about the antisemitism in the game, they would have wondered what happened.
I don't want to demonize the people who play the game, but I want you to be AWARE that even if the main campaign was about boycotting and you still wanted to buy the game, nobody forced you to buy it the first day. The very least you could have done if you were torn on the topic was to WAIT. In one month from now, you could have still played the game and the producers would have had to rethink their way of developing things.
like this everybody lost. You're facing backlash for something as silly as playing a game and the jewish and trans communities have been slapped in the face from the corporation and the supposed allies.
look, i'm not trying to moralize on anyone here, I just think that maybe we've lost the ability to wait. and this is also another trend in a capitalist society. You need to have everything you want the moment it's available, but maybe, next time Think if you could just take a few days to see how much you need the thing you want. Especially if it's something in a digital copy, there's no need to buy it. I would gladly point you to the closest pirating-game website if it would help sending the message that you actually care about others.
#hogwarts legacy#harry potter#if you play this game try not to fall for the antisemitic rethoric#jkrowling#this is aimed to the people who bought the game

How to Find the Right Web Development Partner for Your Business
Web development is a crucial aspect of any online business. With the growing importance of a strong online presence, finding the right web development partner is essential for the success of your business. A good web development partner will help you create a website that not only looks great but also functions optimally and meets your business goals. With the many web development companies and individual developers available, it can be challenging to find the right one for your business. This article will guide you through the steps you need to take to find the right web development partner for your business.
Define your web development needs Before you start searching for a web development partner, it's important to have a clear idea of what you need. Ask yourself the following questions:
What kind of website do you need? (e.g. e-commerce, blog, portfolio, etc.)
What are your website goals? (e.g. increase sales, generate leads, provide information, etc.)
What is your budget for web development?
What features do you need on your website? (e.g. contact forms, payment gateway integration, etc.)
Having a clear understanding of your web development needs will help you find a partner who can meet those needs effectively.
Research potential web development partners Once you have defined your web development needs, it's time to start researching potential partners. You can start by searching for web development companies and individual developers online. Look for those who have experience in developing websites similar to what you need. Check their portfolio to see if they have a proven track record of delivering high-quality work.
You can also ask for recommendations from friends, colleagues, and online communities. Word-of-mouth is a powerful tool, and recommendations from people you trust can be invaluable in finding the right web development partner.
Evaluate the credentials and expertise of your potential partners Once you have a list of potential partners, it's time to evaluate their credentials and expertise. Look for partners who have experience in the industry and have a good understanding of the latest web development technologies and trends. You should also check if they have any certifications or awards that demonstrate their expertise.
It's also important to look at their portfolio and read reviews and testimonials from previous clients. This will give you an idea of their level of expertise and the quality of their work.
Assess their communication and project management skills Effective communication and project management are essential for a successful web development project. Look for web development partners who are transparent and communicative in their approach. They should be able to explain the project timeline, deliverables, and expected results in a clear and concise manner.
A good web development partner should also have a well-established project management process in place. This includes regular status updates, progress reports, and the ability to effectively manage and resolve any issues that arise during the project.
Compare quotes and proposals Once you have evaluated the credentials and expertise of your potential partners, it's time to compare quotes and proposals. Don't just go for the cheapest option, as the cheapest option may not necessarily be the best one. Consider the level of expertise, project management skills, and the quality of their portfolio before making a decision.
It's important to carefully read the proposals and make sure that they meet your web development needs. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to ask your potential partner for clarification.
Schedule a face-to-face meeting or call Before making a final decision, schedule a face-to-face meeting or call with your potential partner. This will give you a chance to ask any questions you may have and assess their intelligence.
