Travel The World On A Budget: Cheapest Foreign Destinations Under 20,000 Inr From India!
I have just been back from almost a 20 days trip from Europe, and the most frequently asked questions I get are, “How do you get to travel so much?” and “Which are the cheapest foreign destinations to travel from India?”. “are there any destinations that you can travel under 20,000 or 30,000 INR from India?” and many more budget travel questions. I know you, too, like me, would be feeling the itch to explore new destinations but don’t want to break the bank. Well, you’re in luck! As a seasoned traveller, I’ve discovered several destinations that you can travel to for under 20,000 INR from India. These destinations offer a wide range of experiences, from vibrant cities to tropical paradises. So, let’s dive in and explore some of these fantastic destinations together that would give you the experience of doing international trips under 30k from India! And many of these foreign trips are not only cheap from India, but they even allow you to travel visa-free or have easy visa procedures like visa-on-arrival or e-visa.

Kathmandu, Nepal
Tumblr media
First up, Kathmandu, Nepal, is one of the most economical destinations to make a foreign trip under 25000 from India, and you don’t even need a visa to visit Nepal. As a lover of the Himalayas, ancient temples and vibrant streets, I was immediately drawn to the charm of this neighbouring country. The historic temples are a sight to behold, and the markets are always bustling with energy. The food is good too, and the people are really nice. Plus, with an average cost of a round-trip flight to Kathmandu from India being around 10,000 INR, it’s an affordable destination to visit. Kathmandu is also very convenient for doing day tours to Bhaktapur, Panauti and Nagarkot (the sunrise is to die for). Once you are in Kathmandu, you can explore other parts of Nepal on a budget, such as Lumbini, Chitwan, Pokhara and even Everest Base Camp.
Colombo, Sri Lanka
Tumblr media
If you are tight on budget, you can do a trip under 30,000 In Sri Lanka.
If you are looking for international tour packages under 20000 with a flight, then Colombo in Sri Lanka could be another good option. As someone who loves a good beach, Sri Lanka’s lush forests and beautiful beaches immediately caught my attention. The capital city, Colombo, is a perfect blend of modern and traditional culture. The hotels and restaurants are top-notch. It’s also the gateway to other popular tourist destinations in Sri Lanka, such as Kandy and Galle. With an average cost of a round-trip flight to Colombo from India being around 15,000 INR, it’s an excellent budget-friendly option for travellers. When in Colombo, don’t forget to visit the famous landmarks such as Galle Face Green, Viharamahadevi Park, Beira Lake, Colombo Racecourse, Planetarium, University of Colombo, Mount Lavinia Beach, Dehiwala Zoological Garden, Nelum Pokuna Theatre, One Galle Face, Gangaramaya Temple, Dutch Museum, Colombo Lotus Tower and the National Museum. A trip to Sri Lanka would be incomplete without visiting its coast, Dambulla Cave Temple, Sigiriya, Adams Peak, tea plantations in Nuwara Eliya, getting up close to gentle giants at Yalla National Park, and going whale watching at Mirissa.
Bangkok, Thailand
Tumblr media
Thailand is a super popular destination among budget travellers from India to visit under 25000. If you’re looking for a vibrant city with a mix of modern and traditional cultures, Bangkok, Thailand, is the place to be. The street food, lively night markets, and magnificent temples are sure to leave you in awe. Bangkok is also an excellent base to explore other parts of Thailand, such as Chiang Mai or Phuket. With an average cost of a round-trip flight to Bangkok from India being around 15,000 INR, it’s an affordable option for budget travellers. You can do your entire international trip top Thailand for under 40k from India. Flying from Kolkata to Bangkok at times works out cheaper than local flights within India
Phuket, Thailand
Tumblr media
Phuket is another Thai destination that’s perfect for budget travellers. If you plan well in advance and look for good deals on MakeMyTrip, Agoda, Yatra, and Booking, you can get international trips to Phuket for under 30k from India. The island is home to stunning beaches, vibrant nightlife, and delicious street food. Whether you’re looking to party or just relax on the beach, Phuket is a destination that won’t disappoint. With an average cost of a round-trip flight to Phuket from India being around 12,000 INR, it’s an affordable option for travellers. In the off-season, neither you get crowded beaches nor expensive flights. I travelled to Phuket in June, and it was the perfect time to explore the place at ease and within my budget. You can read more details about Phuket here.
Kuala Lumpur
Tumblr media
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is another vibrant city with a mix of Malay, Chinese, and Indian cultures. The Petronas Twin Towers are an iconic sight to see, and the street food is delicious. Kuala Lumpur is also a gateway to other popular tourist destinations in Malaysia, such as Penang and Langkawi. With the average cost of a round-trip flight to Kuala Lumpur from India being around 12,000 INR, it’s an excellent budget-friendly option for travellers. Also, when you visit Kuala Lumpur, you can extend your trip to either going to Selangor or Kota Kinabalu.
Bali, Indonesia
Tumblr media
Bali is a tropical paradise that’s home to beautiful beaches, cascading waterfalls, lush rice fields, huge volcanoes, beautiful mountains and ancient temples. The island is known for its unique culture and welcoming locals, as well as its delicious food. Whether you’re looking to surf, hike, or just relax on the beach, Bali has something for every type of traveller. Most tourists stick to its southern part, but I found its northern part more stunning and peaceful. With an average cost of a round-trip flight to Bali from India being around 15,000 INR, it’s a budget-friendly option for travellers. The villas, food, transportation, and everything is pretty economical in Blai, and the culture is quite similar to Indian culture.

10 Tips for Seeing Oman on a Budget
The country Oman, located in the Middle East, is a fantastic destination that is best known for its centuries-old desert fortresses, warm hospitality, beautiful beaches, wadis, and also breathtaking natural scenery.
Unfortunately, many people think that Oman is quite an expensive place to travel to, and hence, they miss all the natural beauties. However, just by following a few tips and affordable Oman tour packages, you can easily enjoy those beauties of Oman within your budget. So, let us discuss ten important tips that will help you to explore this beautiful country and its treasures on a budget.
Ten tips for traveling to Oman on a budget
Look for low-cost flights
While planning your Oman trip, you must check a flight comparison website to compare the rates of various flights. With these sites, you can choose your traveling day and flight according to your budget.
You may think about traveling out of season
The peak season for visiting this beautiful country is between the months of October and April. The reason is the temperature here may be really hot during the months of summer, so you should travel to Oman in winter, autumn, or spring if possible.
However, no matter what time you choose to explore Oman, you won’t meet with big crowds of tourists, as Oman is still not a very common travel destination. However, just like any other country, prices in Oman also will be a lot higher in peak season than at any other time. So, if you can avoid the peak season, you can be able to save almost 50% on your flights, accommodation, and car rentals.
Try to find reasonable tour operator
Availing tour operators Oman can help you in exploring the country with ease. Choose the best tour package which include desert safari Oman etc, meet and interact with the local people and explore some new things on a budget
Consider the entrance fees to historical sites
One of the most popular places to visit in Oman is the Nizwa fort. However, its entrance fee is really expensive, which is 5 OMR. So, to finish your tour on a budget, you must create a small note of these entrance fees and how much you can afford, and know that you don’t have to pay entry fees every place you go.
Rent a salon car instead of a large SUV
The perfect way to get around this fantastic country is to rent a car. This is true both visiting Muscat and some other popular cities of Oman, along with inter-city travel.
Public transport around Muscat does not cover all the important parts of the city and also runs infrequently. So, you should hire an affordable saloon car instead of an expensive SUV to explore all important corners of Oman on a budget.
You may take buses between famous cities
If you want to visit only the popular cities in Oman, then you can just choose public transport. Though infrequent, a few buses run between Muscat and Nizwa and also between Salalah and Sur. Also, the bus tickets are very cheap, and all buses are air-conditioned.
You may eat out in Oman
Eating out in Oman is not very expensive. A lot of cafes and restaurants in Oman are operated and owned by migrant workers from the Indian subcontinent to Oman’s neighbor Yemen. There you can get small snacks and sandwiches for a couple of dollars. Moreover, you can taste simple Arabic dishes or even Indian curries for just 5 or 6 dollars. However, you must avoid eating out in Muttrah, as restaurants here are really expensive.
You can look for home-stays to save money
Previously accommodation in Oman was limited to luxury resorts and hotels. However, today this country is increasing its accommodation options which include Airbnb and home-stays. As the cost of renting rooms in Oman can be a little expensive, you can think about home-stay as a very good accommodation in Oman. In this way, you can spend your days in Oman both comfortably and on a budget.
Avoid currency conversion
Instead of changing your local currency, you must withdraw money from the local ATMs in Oman. Also, if you need to visit a currency exchange in this country, remember to avoid places like exchange offices in hotels, airports, etc., as they offer some terrible rates.
Shop at souks and local marketplaces, and don’t forget to haggle
Browsing and shopping must be done in the local marketplaces and souks in Oman. Also, you must haggle. Never accept the first price quoted in the shops of Oman, as it is always inflated.
So, to enjoy your Oman visit on a budget, you must remember and follow these ten vital tips, along with consulting a reliable tour operator in Oman.

Around the World - Gorgeous and Friendly Oman
From -40C in Lapland to +40C in Oman! I couldn’t wait to escape the winter and explore a beautiful new culture in Oman. Direct flights to Muscat take only 7 hours but the journey started one hour away from Muscat at the gorgeous Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar.
Tumblr media
Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar is one of the world’s highest resorts with breathtaking views and cooler temperatures.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
All rooms look out onto the canyon with lovely balconies - just don’t forget to close the room door when you get out on the balcony otherwise you will be greeted by a number of insects. If you value privacy, some rooms have their own secluded private pool with a spectacular view! Alternatively, there are two communal pools also overlooking the canyon.
Tumblr media
The resort offers a variety of activities and excursions, we were only there for 4 nights and decided to do a half day tour around three close villages. I highly recommend exploring the areas!
Tumblr media
The spa is also magnificent, not cheap but magnificent. There are two separate areas for men and women but couples can choose to book a couple’s massage in a private room.
Tumblr media
Lastly, make sure you don’t miss the glorious sunset every evening!

Room start at £250/night and are worth every penny! Book it at https://www.anantara.com/

If you’re an Anthony Bourdain fan, you may remember the season 10 finale that aired in late 2017, Southern Italy: The Heel of the Boot, which has inspired travelers to get off the beaten path in Italy ever since. Wilderness Travel’s new tour this year, Hiking Puglia and Calabria, visit some of the same mystical towns Bourdain did in what’s sure to be the next popular tourist spot in Italy. Activities range from culinary experiences like wine and olive oil tastings to excursions like cliffside hiking and cave exploring. You’ll also see two UNESCO World Heritage sites: the cave dwellings of Matera (also a European Capital of Culture this year) and the famed Trulli houses in Alberobello.
Float Down the Danube on a Reinvented River Cruise
A river cruise is one of the best ways to see Europe, and U by Uniworld is shaking things up for the industry. With ships and itineraries designed for the “young at heart,” this isn’t your grandparents’ river cruise. My pick for 2019 is the Danube Flow cruise, which covers three countries in eight days: Germany, Austria, and Hungary. There are also departure dates with special itineraries that overlap with Oktoberfest, Sziget Festival, and the holiday Christmas markets and New Year’s Eve celebrations.

Walk England Coast to Coast
Sleep in cozy countryside inns while you cross England by walking 192 miles over nine days. REI Adventures’ England Coast to Coast Hiking trip takes you through three national parks: Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, and North York Moors, where you’ll see grazing sheep, storybook villages, and stunning landscapes. Along the way, you rest at local pubs and teahouses, and the tour includes stops at the home of William Wordsworth, Richmond Castle, Easby Abbey, and more.
Bike the Causeway Coast
The adventurous and active can take a weeklong, self-guided tour through Northern Ireland. Viator’s Causeway Coast Cycle Self-Guided tour is ideal for travelers who want to go at it alone but need some help planning. The itinerary starts with a city cycle tour in Belfast, where you’ll explore iconic sights. You then bike along the coastline with stops in villages and castles to rest and sleep at small inns. The tour includes a ferry ride to Rathlin Island, Giant’s Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, Bushmills Whiskey Distillery, an optional trip to the Dark Hedges, and return transportation to Dublin.
Explore Portuguese and Spanish Islands You’ve Never Heard Of
Portugal was 2018’s hottest destination, and tourism growth shows no signs of slowing down in 2019. Avoid the overcrowded spots with a 15-day cruise throughout the Portuguese and Spanish islands. Hurtigruten’s Atlantic Exploration itinerary is new this year and covers the Azores, Madeira, and the Canary Islands. The journey begins and ends in Lisbon, so you’ll have plenty of time to explore the capital. Stops include three areas of the volcanic archipelago—the Green Island (Sao Miguel), the Blue Island (Ilha Azul or Faial), and the Purple Island (Angra), as well the islands of Porto Santo and Madeira of Portugal, and two islands in the Canaries: Santa Cruz de Tenerife and the less-visited San Sebastian de la Gomera.

Visit a Rainforest in Canada
Home to fjords, rare wildlife, and, yes, a rainforest, is Canada’s British Columbia province. Maple Leaf Adventures’ Great Bear Rainforest trips are sailing-based and include tons of wildlife excursions with opportunities to see grizzly bears, spirit bears, black bears, baleen whales, orcas, gray wolves, and bald eagles. The itinerary also includes cultural experiences with First Nation villages, a trip to hot springs, and kayaking.

Go on a Snow-for Adventure
If you’re into snow sports, then this trip should be on your bucket list. Topdeck’s 10-day Great White North tour takes you to Whistler, Big White, and the Big Three ski resorts in Banff.  You’ll also experience some of Canada’s epic drives and sights, like the Sea to Sky Highway, Fraser Valley, the Coquihalla Pass, Kicking Horse Pass, and the Continental Divide.
South America
Tour Chilean Wine Country
Chile is a hot destination in 2019 with Patagonia’s popularity and the 2019 solar eclipse, but you should visit this destination for another reason: the Casablanca Valley. The area is known for its Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot Noir, but has distinct microclimates that growers are learning more about to produce other varieties, like Malbec and Merlot. This trip of a lifetime is just 90 minutes from Santiago by car. Use Upscale travel to plan your perfect trip through the region; activities can include cycling, a helicopter ride, dining with winemakers, and more.

Backpack Through Bolivia
Bolivia’s salt flats are otherworldly, and the country as a whole is on its way to becoming the next South American hot spot. Contiki’s 13-day Bella Bolivia tour covers tons of ground, starting in La Paz, the capital, and ending in Chile’s Santiago—the first nine days are spent in Bolivia with an included flight to Santiago on day 11. You’ll truly see it all: the cathedrals of La Paz, the Witches’ Market, the white stone buildings in Sucre, Salar de Uyuni (salt flats), Avaroa National Reserve, the Salvador Dali desert, and plenty more to make this trip of life worthwhile.
Go to the Remote Falkland Islands
Getting to these remote and almost-polar islands isn’t easy—or cheap—but this year marks the first new flight route to the U.K. territory since the late ‘90s. Though no date has been set, the flights will go from Argentina to the islands with LATAM Airlines. Intrepid is offering a new-to-2019 tour for eight days, Falkland Island Expedition: Past & Present, which will take you to beaches, nature reserves, and the battlegrounds from the war of 1982. And don’t forget about the wildlife; a king, Magellanic, and gentoo penguins all call this place home.

Spend a Night on a Glacier in the Arctic Fjords
If Norway’s Arctic fjords are on your bucket list, take your vacation to the next level with a trip to Svalbard. Off the Map Travel’s summer trip to the archipelago includes dog sledding, kayaking, a glacier climb, and the once-in-a-lifetime chance to sleep on a glacier at the Nordenskiold Lodge. Note that you won’t see the northern lights this time of year, but rather experience the “land of the midnight sun,” which also happens to give you the best chance to see polar bears. If you’re looking for a northern lights experience, the tour company has a four-day All Day Aurora tour to the same region.
