I originally made this 6” bust for funnies, but while making it, I heard Neil was gonna be in my town for a con. So I made a copy for him to keep as well as one for him to sign for me!

He asked what quote I wanted, but they’re all so good so I told him he could pick from his favorites. He then asked if I wanted casual, flirty, or spicy, so I laughed and said spicy. He wrote “On your knees, darling” and signed as Astarion and as himself 🥰😂

I can’t resist an opportunity to talk about the kind of art I make, so just let me cook for a second a I promise I’ll shut up 🙏

He was sculpted with chavant clay, molded in a 2 piece silicone mold(so I can make as many of him as I want hehe), and cast in a 2 part liquid plastic and painted with an airbrush. His hair took f o r e v e r to sculpt, and honestly I could work on it for another thousand years. I plan on sculpting all the companions as 6” busts like this! Gale is next 🔮🧙‍♂️

Can I ask how you made it? Especially around the eyes, and the hinge jaw.

I made my first Heehaw face by casting my face in plaster and sculpting the snout shape on it using chavant. I then made a few silicone versions (Dragonskin 10 and one of the Exoflexes specifically), and from there it can be attached to my face with Skin Tite adhesive

I love the look and feel of silicone, and it's very simple to cast with in my experience. One of its downsides for this project is that it's just too heavy for a big Ole snout, and when I slush casted it to have thin walls I sacrifice movement capabilities.

The newer Heehaw face I have is purchased from NorthFX, and is made of hot-curing foam latex. It's lightweight, attaches to skin perfectly using Prosaid adhesive and allows for a range of expressive movement. It's split into a top and bottom jaw which you can glue together and use paint or makeup to blend the seams, and the results look super slick! I used Mehron facepaint to blend it all together and a very thick application of Ben Nye setting powder on top, which I swear by.

Foam latex prosthetic's major downside is that it's fragile and wicks up sweat, so it can't be used many times. Now that I know I love the material I'm working on making my own, but it's much more complicated than using silicone and requires a dedicated oven. I'm getting my materials from Monster Makers, and luckily since it's not a huge piece I can just use a large toaster oven for it (whatever oven you use can't be used again for food).

It's hard to tell when I've got my jeans+chaps on, but I've actually got a whole spandex bodysuit on! I fabric painted the ombre to the hands and some of the body hair, and the rest of the hair were wool combos I wet felted.

I'm nowhere near an expert or anything, but I am more than happy to answer questions and help people out who want to get into furry face prosthetics. Theres a lot of dense information online about making this stuff that took me foreverrr to navigate through, and I'd be happy to be a source of info that HOPEFULLY isn't too confusing. I've been super inspired for this whole project by furry prostetics of old and want this artform to return to furry spaces again because I rarely see it!!

Anyway, I found a tutorial today by Puppet Nerd on how to build a full body "Muppet"-style monster puppet, and it looks like it can serve my needs in terms of finally bringing a version of Xeljin to "life."

The first step is to make a maquette (tiny scale sculpture). Let's gooooo. UNLEASH THE ARMATURE WIRE.

Obviously not done, but a lot of progress. The clay is Chavant NSP Medium (NSP = Non-Sulphured Plasticine).

Meet Ésclepes, the Oracle of Athena of the 18th Century!

Born in Lefkada, one of the Islands of Greece, she was an orphan by the age of 2 years old. Luckily, a noblewoman — Madam Chavant — took Esclepes under her wing and took care of her until she was of age to start her training on the Sanctuary.

She was trained as an Oracle, and is now revered as one of the most precise ones — her prophecies and divinations always happen. Her most important prophecy was about the 18th Century’s Holy War.

Ésclepes was born with albinism, making her skin, hair and eyes be without the amount necessary of pigmentation that she needs to not be hurt by the Sun — hence why she is seen always covered, and using her veil to protect herself from the prejudice the Sun can do to her skin.

Ésclepes is the best friend of Kamaria, an Aquarius Temple’s Servant that arrived at the same time as her on the Sanctuary. They are inseparable, and often are seen together when both have their free time!

Les travaux du Sytral prennent fin cet été, sur les placettes Abd El-Kader et JM Chavant situées dans le 7ème arrondissement de Lyon. Cet automne, débuteront les travaux d’aménagement de surface, afin de rendre ces espaces aux habitants et usagers du quartier.

Au cours de la phase de concertation, tenue en avril et mai 2024, plusieurs hypothèses ont été proposées : «��ambiance clairière » ou bien « ambiance bosquet » ? Dans les deux cas, les deux placettes seront embellies et végétalisées et des équipements pourront y être installés (bancs, tables, jeux…).

Une réunion publique (6 mai) et une enquête en ligne (jeparticipe.grandlyon.com) ont permis d’orienter les choix d’aménagement, afin de débuter les études de conception en juin prochain. A SUIVRE…

these are life size models made out of hard chavant clay so you let it dry and then you can carve it. to use it you do have to heat it up. its quite impressive that people can make a whole car out of clay.

Mazda do it out of chavant clay therein some one who does out of 3d printing and sculpt who works with Ferrari to make f1 models . he also dosent just make cars such as the flu size string wheel he made which Lado Norris and Zak brown signed for a give a way
