Chatuchak Market. 35 acres of market, 200,000 people, every weekend.
Description: A photo of the narrow, merch filled aisles of Chatuchak Weekend Market in Bangkok, Thailand. It's full of people all filing out back into the sunlight at the end of the aisle. An illustration of myself stands in the crowd, looking back at the camera slightly worried. It's hot and stuffy and I am expiring.

Didn't see a lot of graffiti in Bangkok, but we found this in a corner of the Chatuchak Market.
Description: A picture of a small, narrow, plant heavy corner of the Chatuchak Weekend Market in Bangkok, Thailand. The focus of the picture is a telephone pole that has been decorated with fun graffiti and stickers. I'm always drawn to stuff like that.

Official Additional Extras of Kiseki: Dear to Me in Filming Diary Release
SADLY I don't have time to translate everything from head to toe but there are two NEW and short epilogues written for the drama by Lin Peiyu and published in the Filming Dairy today on Nov. 24. So it's new extras on top of the extras in the original novel published.
I'll just summarise it for y'all BECAUSE THEY REVEAL THAT CHEN DONGYANG KNEW ALL ALONG THAT CHEN YI HAD SOME WEIRD THING FOR HIM?!
Chen Yi + Ai Di
Starts off with Chen Yi waking up to see Ai Di in his arms, and he reveals that Ai Di has issues with controlling his emotions because his mother took drugs when she was pregnant with him
CHEN YI GETS AI DI A RING because he thought his fingers looked empty
A majority of the other paragraphs is just Chen Yi getting jealous because Chen Dongyang, who's in New Zealand with Zhou Minglei, called him to go fetch someone called Charles Yang from Thailand and Charles Yang keeps flirting with Ai Di and they look super close like brothers upon meeting each other
Ai Di sees Zherui on the roads but Chen Yi is like NOPE you ain't going to be chummy with that dude (Zherui is there with Zongyi for their honeymoon, see below)
Chen Yi then called Chen Dongyang to complain and he's like "when is he going to hide here until? it's troublesome" and Chen Dongyang pauses and he's like "are you complaining to me right now?" and Chen Yi backpedals and he's like shit omg sorry boss
And Chen Dongyang simply snaps "Call me Dad!" and "I've been waiting so long... you'll only complain to your Dad."
And that's when Chen Yi knows Chen Dongyang has known about his weird feelings all this time and Chen Dongyang said yeah, but he wasn't the one who found out (implying that it was Zhou Minglei)
Then Chen Yi angrily grabs Ai Di back into their room at 3pm in the morning to sleep with him and Charles Yang was basically teasing them all this while for fun LMAO
Bai Zongyi + Fan Zherui
THEY ARE IN BANGKOK FOR THEIR HONEYMOON
Bai Zongyi keeps forgetting that they're here for their honeymoon, and this one is much shorter
Bai Zongyi and Fan Zherui go to Chatuchak Market and Bai Zongyi gets lost, and when he's distracted by a pickpocket, he suddenly forgets where he and why he's here
He worries about whether he is a burden for Fan Zherui, but Fan Zherui finds him
Fan Zherui doesn't tell him that he has a tracker installed in his wedding ring so he would never lose track of him
SOBBLES! Lol them going to Bangkok, is this a hint that they're going to do a fanmeet in Bangkok LOL
Edit: OMG NO ONE TOLD ME I SPELT DIARY WRONGLY ARGH FAT FINGERS SORZ all good now no cows involved

Photo
Teddy looked down a wide row in a market which he was pretty sure held everything you didn’t know you needed. As he pushed through other, more narrow aisles, he found himself questioning how many were items he would never need. The Chatuchak market has over 15,000 stalls and houses a dizzying maze of all the things. It was a very fun place to get lost in for a few hours and Teddy definitely left with a few things he wanted, even if he could have lived without them.

Last Twilight, episode 4: reflections
Ooooooohhhhh, yeah -- of course! What else would we expect from an Aof Noppharnach show at episode 4? It's getting good, it's getting GOOD, babies!
You know, I have been locked into huge Bad Buddy brainrot for a little under two months now -- my last Bad Buddy meta for my Old GMMTV Challenge project drops next week. Whenever I'm watching an Aof Noppharnach show, I'm always looking for parallels to his past shows. This episode of Last Twilight had parallels and references in spades, both visually and thematically, that just got my heart going.
As @grapejuicegay caught: Mhok singing to Day from stage harkened to He's Coming to Me. Gee waving Mhok into the photo with the badminton club, Mhok looking bemused to be pushed a little closer next to Day, and Mhok's arm going around Day's back -- yet another sneak picture snuggle at a reunion, à la episode 12 of Bad Buddy. Mhok sleeping on the floor, next to a bed, under a comforter -- where have we seen that before. (And it looks like we're going to get even more references next week.)
But besides the little lines and the visual cues to the themes and motifs that we know Aof loves in his shows, there's a bigger one that I want to meditate on for this episode.
In my last Bad Buddy meta next week, I'm going to meditate on the reasons why I think Pran felt comfortable and solid in his going to Singapore for two years, separating himself from Pat. Many of us BBS girlies picked up on this, but I'm going to meditate on the strength that Pran gained by having such a committed partner and family in Pat. "I can't live without you," as they say to each other in Our Skyy 2. And with that rock-solid foundation of love supporting Pran, Pran can spread his wings, explore himself, and find new dimensions of himself in a larger space of the world than he likely would have ever previously thought to occupy, if he had only his mother in his life as his foundation.
I see that Aof likes to explore this motif. And we see it in Day, in this episode. For the past year, Day has been locked up in his room. On his own volition? Likely, as Day has certainly been rocked with depression. But his family, his mother and his brother, also indeed enabled Day's behavior, and possibly/likely encouraged it, and adapted to it, and had Day adapt to their adaptations. The family also needed to process Day's tragedy, and holding it within the confines of that home was a part of how they did that.
I wrote last week that as ever, Aof loves to explore ideas of building community in his shows. Pran built his community, his family, with Pat. The same is now happening for Day, as he's able to explore the bigger world with Mhok and Mhok's support. Not just by going to the Chatuchak Market, but -- in this episode, Day will not hide from his friends anymore. He's able to talk to Gee, now, face to face, and to not be afraid of her potential judgment. He sees his friends trying to acclimate, sees Porjai literally asking how to engage. As he has Mhok at his side, Day can spread his wings, and like Pran, discover that there's a world again, out there, that can welcome him in his new state. Day rediscovers his old friends in a new light, and once again regains a community that he thought was previously lost to him.
Besides this big theme stuff, a small moment that really got me: the last scene of Day coming to Mhok in the middle of the night to try to see Mhok's face. Of course, Day would try to do that as they're sleeping, so as to not have Mhok catch him in the act. But -- without light, how was Day going to see Mhok's face, otherwise?
I love that it was the light of that fishtank that illuminated Mhok's face, giving Day a better chance to see Mhok.
That light improved Day's luck. With Mhok helping to fix the grungy fishtank earlier in the series -- he's brought light back to Day's life.
EEEEEEE -- we have an Aof episode 5 next week, EEEEEEE!

one of my favorite post-series puentalay headcanons is that talay brings puen to chatuchak market exactly ONCE and puen gets obsessed with it
being an actor from a very young age meant that puen always had to be on a very strict healthy diet, so his manager always controlled which food he got to eat, and the few times he could cook for himself his busy schedule still didn't allow him for much experimentation other than already pre-made stuff
so when talay brings him to chatuchak on a saturday to get some food, puen falls in love with the whole experience: hunting for what he needs amidst the thousands of booths, bargaining with the vendors for the price, watching all the different kind of people going on with their days and doing their business........
after a couple of years puen knows most of the aunties by name and they're all ridiculously charmed by him, which talay finds both hilarious and horrifying, even more so when they start doting on talay as well and WINKING at him because you can say what you want about old ladies but they sure are perceptive (talay does soften a lot after one of them tells him she understood they are together from the way talay makes puen smile) [but also puen may or may not have bought matching towels with their initials embroidered on them from one of the stalls]
i also love the idea of puen eventually starting his own vegetable garden at home thanks to the help of all the people he knows from the market who give him tips on which plants to grow and how
#this is probably a very silly headcanon ;;;;;;#but god i miss talking about puentalay#i miss everything about them#also my anxiety may or may not be through the roof at the idea of going back to work tomorrow after a week of being gone#and i may or may not be trying not to think in general because being sick truly made painfully obvious how alone i am#hence me focusing on the only thing that truly matters instead#anyway#vice versa#puentalay#m: txt
