Oh yeah, I kinda forgot to mention it for almost a week, but I'm so happy to see Chase Briscoe and Stewart-Haas Racing go out on a high note with that thrilling Southern 500 win!
Also as a Chastain fan, I'm kind of in hell! (Also feel for Bubba and Buescher, especially with how awful the win-and-your-in format is.)

Things I Love About NASCAR ?/∞
Even though the TV broadcast handwrings about anything less than a full suit being too "informal" to be professional and legitimate, there is no standard for how the commentators address the drivers.
Sometimes it's by last name; sometimes it's by car number. Sometimes it's by first name. Sometimes it's by initials. Sometimes it's by nickname. Sometimes it's by some other strange moniker entirely. Sometimes it's multiple of these in quick succession, interchangeably.
This is absolutely how it should be. Call them by the names in your heart!!!!!!
#nascar#real racing#i'll call kyle busch 'kybu' or 'kyle' but i basically never call kyle larson just 'kyle'#unless i'm referring to him in the plural with other kyles e.g. 'dangerous concentration of kyles'#though if i call kyle busch 'kyle' it's actually always KYLE in all caps and he probably just dnf'd or said something insane#i'll call chase elliott 'chase' or 'elliott' interchangeably but chase briscoe is always briscoe#blaney is always blaney#joey is mostly joey but sometimes logano#denny is denny or dennis or dennison or almost any other permutation
