Charon's lusus was a kite, of the bird of prey variety, not a sentient children's toy variety. But honestly, a sentient children's toy would've made for a way better lusus than Kitedad ever did. He was a massively-sized bird, barely able to fit in Charon's hive.

To keep things simple, Charon's lusus was abusive. It would attack him whenever it was in a bad mood (which was a lot of the time), and would threaten to abandon him if he misbehaved too much. These confrontations became increasingly more aggressive as Charon became strong enough to fight back, and Kitedad fuelled his charge's codependency issues by leaving him for nights on end and making him inconsolable, then returning to shower him with love and affection to prove that it really cared and just needed to 'teach him a lesson'.

This backfired massively on Kitedad, as the next time it threatened to leave him, Charon panicked and crippled its wings so it could never fly again. Now the dynamic had flipped with Charon being the one lashing out in anger and then switching into caring for it to try and win back its affection. Eventually, Kitedad had enough and managed to escape, but the ensuing scuffle between lusus and charge lead to its death, falling off the cliff the hive resided on and onto the rocks below it.

It's been three and a half sweeps, and Charon has never recovered from that incident. Nor has he grown past his own codependent and abusive tendencies he developed as a result.

So, Charon time, unfortunately.

Charon is a god of protection. He is the burning desire to keep our loved ones as close as possible, and to ensure that no harm ever comes to them. But there is no softness to this desire, rather he represents knife one holds in their hands to fight off an intruder in their hive while their partner hides in the closet, or the fantasies of bloody vengeance when we learn of someone who bullied a friend during their younger years.

Because of this, he is also a god of violence. The sharpening of blades, the hands curled into fists, the smell of blood and gunpowder, all things which this deity thrives off. He represents that moment where one's love for another person drives them to inflict suffering onto others, and the joy one feels when they know this violence is righteous. Because there is nothing more pure, and more noble, than love.

Blood pays a major role in worshipping this god, whether that be spilling another troll's blood to fulfil the desires this deity represents, or to give one's own blood as a personal offering. It is also not unusual for followers to leave offerings of those they have killed as proof that they too are worth their god's love and protection.

Followers may also decorate themselves with feathers to emulate more symbolic artistic depictions of this deity, that being a large bird of prey with broken wings.

mikiel at least acknowledges that he doesnt get along with anyone outside of lyvere or thrixe, so he will make things as easy as possible for them by trying to avoid causing any drama with their friends / other quads. if he doesnt gel with someone, he’ll make that clear, and then stay away from them as much as possible. simple as that

which is much better than charon, who if you befriend or date him you simply cannot see anyone else because of his jealousy issues. he’ll keep trying to isolate you from your other friends and quadrants, and constantly guilt trip you if you spend time with other people

mikiel giacho: mih-kee-el ji-ah-ko (tho more often than not i say gee-ah-cho because i am lazy lmao)

viltau espino: vil-tow es-py-no (the ‘ow’ rhymes with ‘cow’, and is the same ‘ow’ sound in eichio’s surname)

pratap chaoua: pra-tap chow-wah

belamy alchys: bel-a-mee al-kiss

then you have the ones that i know i pronounce incorrectly but i think they sound more pleasing to the ears when you say the character’s full name

dismas teufel: dis-mas tew-fel (instead of toi-fel)

aislin cudovi: eyes-lin cu-do-vee (instead of ash-lin)

charon acerbi: cha-ron ay-sir-bee (instead of kha-ron)

davitt cesare: da-vitt sez-air (instead of chey-zuh-rey)

and a good rule of thumb is that all my ‘ae’ names are pronounced ‘ay’ (raesul, aegiel, linnae), and all my ‘ei’ names are pronounced ‘eye’ (eichio, [zotick] aureio)

Tbh I count Charon as being yandere-adjacent because he lacks the obsessiveness that yanderes typically have. He likes the people he likes a normal amount, he’s just an incredibly jealous person who doesn’t like when his friends have other friends rip

Celise and Benrii are the trolls you go to if you want Obsessive but without the jealousy. Well, Celise gets a lil jealous that Vallis likes Epsilo more than them lmao

charon's route involves me coming after you with a cricket bat because please god get better taste you meeting charon once and making a decent enough impression that youre forever locked into his route now. there is no interacting with other characters in the game because charon thought you were his friend :[ don't you like him? is he not good enough for you?

spend too much time with other characters and not him and they'll uh. mysteriously end up dead. but if you spend all your time with charon you'll have a friend for life who wants to do everything with you! hope you like birdwatching dates and sparring with him and him giving you his dead lusus' feathers for a present!
