looks like i wont be supporting bethesda for a
while...

text id: The recent post by Mick Gordon both mischaracterized and misrepresented the team at id Software, the development of DOOM Eternal, Marty Stratton, and Chad Mossholder with a one-sided and unjust account of an irreparable professional relationship.
We are aware of all the details and history in this matter and unequivocally support Marty, Chad, and the team at id Software. We reject the distortion of the truth and selective presentation of incomplete "facts." We stand ready with full and complete documented evidence to disclose in an appropriate venue as needed.
The statements posted online have incited harassment and threats of violence against Marty, Chad, and the id Software team. Any threats or harassment directed towards members of our teams will be met with swift and appropriate action to protect their health and safety.
We remain incredibly proud of id's previous collaborations with Mick Gordon and ask that fans refrain from reaching conclusions based on his account and, more importantly, from attacking any of the individuals mentioned on either side, including Marty, Chad, or Mick.
#are you fucikg serious lmao#for context; check my other most recent doom post lol.#tl;dr : mick gordon got fucked over by bethesda and made a very civil and well documented callout and this is their official response#doom#stinky speaks

DC Universe Online
Honestly, I played it a little, but I remember it was a good experience, everyone wants to be a superhero and share a mission with those they admire.
I liked the drawing, the costume is simple, but I liked to be like batman.

Ear Influxion 2020 Favorites
Life changes and priorities left me without much time to write about music in 2020. Despite that, Bandcamp Fridays have rekindled my love of discovering new music, connecting with and supporting artists directly, and engaging more deliberately as a listener. In a way, not writing about music allowed me to more fully do all of those things.
Here’s a list in alphabetical order of the various works that have moved me in some significant way. I’d planned to write a blurb about each one, but since that is taking some time, and we’re already into January, I thought I’d do this differently. Instead of linking to reviews from the past year, I will add links to this list as I add reviews after the fact. Many of them are already written, but it’s grown in scale to the extent that I don’t think it would make sense to publish them all in line here.

DOOM - Original Game Soundtrack - Mick Gordon & id Software
Created by Mick Gordon, the DOOM Original Soundtrack includes completely rearranged and composed tracks from the game, one new track from id Software’s Chris Hite, a new remixed track from id Software’s Chad Mossholder, and a few other surprises for the fans. Spanning 31 tracks and 128 minutes, the soundtrack is organized into four distinct chapters (I. DOGMA, II. DEMIGOD, III. DAKHMA, IV. DOOM) that follow the DOOM Marine’s path of destruction, culminating in his relentless fight against the demons of Hell.

“Haptic Clouds” was written entirely on the Elektron Digitone as an experiment exploring the instrument's capabilities. Without MIDI interfaces or external sequencing, I focused on the Digitone's potential, and embraced its limitations. The Digitone is a beautiful instrument, full of flexibility, and power. The instrument has its own unique workflow, and very specific limitations. Working within that framework, and those limitations unlocks a well of creativity.
I spent a good amount of time hand crafting hundreds of custom FM patches. Once I had a good collection of diverse sounds, I moved into production, meticulously composing the 8 tracks that make up the album.
The album is designed for headphones. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed creating it.

Laced Records, in partnership with Bethesda Softworks®, a ZeniMax® Media company and id Software®, today announced that the DOOM (Original Game Soundtrack) will make its long-awaited debut on physical audio formats (Vinyl/CD) in Summer 2018.
A Game Awards 2016 Winner for Best Music / Sound Design and BAFTA Games Nominee for Best Music and Audio Achievement, the DOOM (Original Game Soundtrack) brings the trademark pulse-pounding and demon-stomping audio experience to fans for the first time on physical disc.
Composed by long-time Bethesda collaborator Mick Gordon, his dark and intense vision channels industrial metal to mirror DOOM’s trademark brutal power fantasy gameplay across 31 synth and metal-filled tracks 1, spanning over two hours of runtime.
A true passion project, the recording process saw Gordon representing DOOM’s portrayal of Hell through the role of energy in sound production, imparting the physical properties of analogue equipment onto digital sources.
To mimic the power of Hell and its corruptive Argent energy, Mick created the “DOOM Instrument”. Consisting of pure sine wave inputs directed into four separate sound processing chains and a variety of post-processing techniques, it allowed Gordon to dynamically ‘corrupt’ generated sounds.
Further callbacks to the franchise’s legacy and imagery are found as the soundtrack’s signature screeching guitar lines are layered with the chainsaw audio from the original 1993 title.
Available Formats
