A few connected headcanons because sydney-rowan friendship destroys me.

Ive seen some people say Rowan prefers the night, because stars are friends, and I love it and find it adorable dont get me wrong. But imo the night is worse. The stars in the sky, the little dots, are like billions of eyes, watching him constantly.

Sometimes, the councelors will go stargazing, which rowan can't do, obviously, so sometimes syd will lightly overstate his pain to stay back, and no one will push him on it, so they just hang out. One time, Syd was REALLY excited to stay back, and excitedly was rushing rowan to come into the nurse's cabin. He had rowan lay down and look up at the ceiling. He turned out the lights to reveal those glowy star things, arranged just like actual constellations. They spent the whole night just yapping and having snacks and enjoying the night spending time together (buttered bread and white rice and unseasoned chicken respectively) and talking about whatever. Sometimes, when syd feels alone, he'll just turn the lights off, and trace the constellations with his finger.

To add further onto this, in one of the s2 fundraiser livestreams, someone asked what the characters got sydney for his birthday and Rowan's VA said Rowan got sydney a hat to keep him safe :)) From the skyy :))) and sydney absolutely covered this thing in everything, including plants and moss and jewellery. But he specifically put those little glowy stars on it, as well as some stars dangling from the brim. He wears this hat everywhere, and when he forages for medicinal herbs or mushrooms, or he's just generally out late, it serves as a searchlight.

Sorry this is so long btw CHNT and more specifically sydney rowan friendship gives me many thoughts its a problem :D
