There are a few frogs that look very triangular...

Darwin’s Frog (Rhinoderma darwinii), males, family Rhinodermatidae, found in the Valdivian Temperate Rain Forest of Chile and Argentina

ENDANGERED.

Famous for its child rearing technique. The male holds both the eggs and tadpoles in his vocal sac. The froglets emerge from the male’s mouth after metamorphosing.

Endangered due to habitat destruction and chytrid fungus.

This fellow lives in mangroves of Micronesia and is called the Palau frog or Palau wrinkled ground frog, a species of frog in the Ceratobatrachidae family. It is endemic to Palau. These spellbinding creatures who have existed for 190 million years in every climate and on every continent except Antarctica are in trouble. As many as 200 species have completely disappeared since 1980 and nearly 1/3 of all amphibians are threatened with extinction. Habitat loss, pollution, climate change, infectious diseases, invasive species and over-harvesting for pet and food trades are putting increasing pressures on their populations. It’s not easy being green (or red or yellow or purple or brown or blue or black with yellow polka dots) but you can help.
