Lizzie Watches Anipoke, Special Edition - "Celebi: The Voice of the Forest"
We've moved to the first Pokémon movie not written by Takeshi Shudo, and I can tell the difference. Not necessarily in a bad way; I liked this movie a lot, actually. But this movie is creatively different than the earlier ones. As an artist, Shudo is drawn to telling broad stories about nature in the movies. Despite what Revelation Lugia's English dub title would have you believe, Shudo's three Pokémovies all are less focused on Ash and co. and more on showing off the grand powers of Pokémon. Though this film still features Celebi and Suicune doing epic feats, it is comparatively far more invested in Ash, Sam, and its other human characters. This has both its strengths and its weaknesses; Ash is a far more active agent in this movie than he is in some others, but that is at the price of focusing less on Celebi and Suicune.
Ash and Sam's friendship was really cute, which made me have a kneejerk reaction to ship them, but then I remembered that I've seen this movie before and remembering the twist made me have an Apollo Justice Shipping Moment
Also, can we talk about the implications of this movie on literally the entire anime. Did Oak intentionally save a Pikachu for Ash to obtain when he turned 10 because he knew that Ash had to have one. Did he freak out when Delia had a son and announced his name. Rewatching the first episodes of the anime with this in mind will make you speculate like a madperson
Y'know, for the first 50 minutes of the movie, I really appreciated that it only used CG for the backgrounds and effects, rather than like the Unown in the third movie. I liked that they kept all of the main characters in 2D so we could appreciate their expressions better. And then Celebi made its 3D twig monster thing and I took back all of the above bc that thing looked horrendous
I liked that Team Rocket got a happy ending this time. They were just vibing in a magic lake together after a long day. Honestly friendship goals
I also think it's funny in a macabre way that the movie never clarifies what happened to the Marauder. Like, the implication is probably that after he got tied up he was turned in to the police, but like. We don't know that. What if the Pokémon beat his ass. What if the boat guy who was cracking his knuckles helped. What if Towa and Diana helped
EDIT: something I just remembered that was bothering me - why doesn't Ash recognize Suicune from when he saw it upon first arriving in Johto? I assumed that encointer was gonna come back later so I've been paying attention for signs of Suicune, and now Ash just doesn't remember it? This mfer can remember when he saw Ho-Oh 200 episodes ago but can't remember Suicune
Also I swear to God if this anime never brings back the Ho-Oh thing I am going to fight someone. Either it better appear during his time in Johto or like, his departure episode better feature him encountering it again or something, idk. If Ho-Oh turns out to be another GS Ball then I will flip
Overall, definitely a weird movie and a turning point for cinematic Pokémon. I think I prefer Shudo's style of screenplay just for the sheer sense of scale it gives, but I still liked this one more than The Power of One. A canon-changing but solid entry into the Pokémon franchise.

The longer ideas (which I may or may not do):
Prof Oak reassures Delia that Seviper is a tame submissive snek and then immediately provokes it into attacking him (actually that would make a cute comic, you can have it if you like)
(Early relationship) Delia finds out Jessie made James trade Victreebel away and it causes a fight between the two girlfriends
Ash needs to learn how to shave but Jessie can't teach him, cue her searching for someone who can while also worrying about parenthood in general (working on this between other projects)
Prof Oak's Charizard, who he's had since boyhood (see Celebi Voice of the Forest) is dying and Jessie has to navigate that situation (end of life care, funeral/disposal arrangements) as a Pokémon nurse
The others are shippy/nsfw/drifting further from the established canon of your AU so I'm leaving them out haha. I'm working on three things at once right now. But this really is a rich little AU and very inspiring.
I may just do that, that's hilarious
Ooooh you've mentioned that one to me before! Love that idea. I feel like I never really shown the two of them fighting. I feel like I'm so bad at writing a good argument
AWWWWW. "Stressed out, doing her best" Jessie is my favorite Jessie
OH NOOOOO SADDDDD BUT I LOVEEEEE
I'll poke you about the other ideas too bc I'm curious hehehe. And right?? This ship has so much potential!!!!

ANIMATED POKEMON MOVIES TIERLIST BY ME AND @klesek
Tumblr media
notes:
the highest tier is not up there because these movies are good. hoopa fucking sucks and it's the worst movie. it's just really funny. kyurem is up there because the chase scenes are goofy as hell
power of us tier is called the power of us tier because pokemon the power of us is literally the best pokemon movie. in this essay I will-
also, the power of us tier is Weird, because all of those movies have their own reason for being good and you can't really put one over the other well (power of us is good as a movie movie, victini is good as a movie about ash, jewel of life is good as a pokemon movie, and latios + latias is good as a pokemon anime movie) (none of those made sense but I promise they do)
jirachi isn't a bad movie, btw, we just didn't really care about it. not in a hate way, just in a "insufferably indifferent" way
arceus chronicles is here despite it being a 4 episode long special and not a movie; because journeys didn't really get a movie for itself, this is the closest we got, and it's about the length of a movie anyway
honorary mention to distant blue sky, since it's a standalone special episode in the M20-M23 continuity and there aren't any other episodes in that continuity. It would go in the oh bell yes tier for me because I think the implications and ash father lore drop in that episode is crazy
list of movies in order of ranking under the cut
wtf tier(? tier): Hoopa & The Clash of Ages, Kyurem VS. The Sword of Justice
power of us(s tier): The Power Of Us, Victini and Zekrom/Reshiram (they have two versions of this movie idk why), Arceus and the Jewel of Life, Pokemon Heroes
oh hell yes(a tier): Pokemon 2000, Mewtwo Strikes Back, Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel, Secrets of the Jungle, I Choose You, Zoroark: Master of Illusions, Spell of the Unown, Lucario and the Mystery of Mew
thumbs up emoji(b tier): The Rise of Darkrai, Giratina and thr Sky Warrior, Genesect and the Legend Awakened, Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction, Destiny Deoxys, Celebi: Voice of the Forest
meh/not a fan(c tier): Arceus Chronicles, Pokemon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea
cringe as fuck. not even comp(d tier): Jirachi: Wish Maker

Kecleon
Tumblr media
On January 26, 2001, five trademarks were filed for four new Pokemon. These included Kakureon (Kecleon), Hoeruku (Wailmer), Rilulu (Azurill), and Barubii/Barubiito (Volbeat). Later, on March 7th, we would end up getting our first public sneak peek at the 3rd Generation, through Kecleon, Azurill and Wailmer.
Kecleon famously appeared in the anime an entire year and a half before the release of Ruby and Sapphire, in EP205 "The Kecleon Caper", which aired July 5th, 2001.
Tumblr media
Two days later, "Pikachu's PikaBoo" aired in Japan as a Pikachu Short with Celebi: The Voice in the Forest. This short is notable for including not only Kecleon, but Wailmer and Azurill as well! (Notably, Volbeat was likely planned to appear, due to the early trademarks, but was not yet finalized.)
This makes Kecleon, Wailmer and Azurill a very unique trio of Pokemon that were designed extremely early for marketing purposes. Out of the three, Kecleon became more of a "face" to this new generation than Wailmer and Azurill.
Kecleon itself was conceived before the infamous tonal shift the third generation would face mid development. Pokemon Crystal had only just released in December of 2000, so the team behind these early designs are very likely the same group from the latter parts of Generation 2's development.
Interesting to note, the four initial trademarked Pokemon are all "round" and "cute" in their design. In fact, all of them have a lot of common ground with many of Gen 2's designs. Minus Volbeat, out of the three revealed Pokemon, Kecleon is the most visually interesting, so it'd make sense for the team to want to make use of it.
Thanks to Dr. Lava's translations, we can learn a couple key notes to keep in mind about the design of these Pokemon:
Masuda: “In general, we chose Pokemon whose types we didn’t have enough of. From the early stages of development until past the halfway point, we planned on Ruby & Sapphire featuring nothing but brand new Pokemon. But later when it came time to balance things out, we realized there weren’t enough of certain types, and decided to add in older Pokemon to fill the gaps.”
Sugimori: “Indeed, there were a lot of kiddy designs, and some fans were starting to say Pokemon had become too babyish, so one theme for Ruby & Sapphire was returning to the coolness of monsters. We added more and more cool, tough-looking, monstrous Pokemon, a philosophy best exemplified by Groudon. And the second big theme of Ruby & Sapphire was taking on new inspirations for Pokemon unlike anything we used before.”
Sugimori: “Like Groudon for example — there are a lot of lines on its design, so I think it’ll be difficult to draw in the anime. But I just thought ‘screw it.’ Better to make it cooler. That’s the approach I took sometimes while drawing Pokemon for Ruby & Sapphire.”
The key things to takeaway here:
A lot of the early designs for Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire used types that were already very common, so older Pokemon helped fill in gaps in the Pokedex.
After listening to fan feedback, the focus for design shifted into being more cool, monstrous, tough, etc.
With this in mind, our original set of Gen 3 Pokemon are... not the best representation for cool and tough. Azurill is yet another baby and Wailmer is a ball. And, while there's no proof of this, I wouldn't be surprised if Kecleon was chosen to get its own episode in the anime *because* it was the least "kid like" design. Sure, Kecleon is cute, but proportionally its a lot more detailed than the other two.
Kecleon in its own right is an interesting Pokemon. Its best known for being able to turn invisible, and acts as a path block in the final game. Since Abilities were being introduced to Pokemon, it would only make sense to create a Pokemon to show off this new feature of the game. And Color Change, which lets Kecleon change types, is the PERFECT way to show this off.
Tumblr media
Despite the design philosophy changes, Kecleon's role as a mascot for the third generation stayed pretty consistent after release. It of course appears in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon as two shopkeepers, but it was also meant to appear as a Shadow Pokemon in Pokemon Colosseum! It also infamously made a fake appearance in Pokemon GO in 2018, where it would appear by mistake instead of the intended reveal of Meltan. Because of this, Kecleon didn't even appear in GO until January 2023!
One last thing to note: Kecleon's scratchpad (along with Wailmer and Azurill) show off an animated sprite similar to Pokemon Crystal. Here it is animated!

(@ask-the-time-dad) Celebi: Oh... You couldn't see her...? That's sad... *her anthenaes came down as sadness took over her expression*. Well, if it helps you, she said that she loves you...
*With determination, she flies in front of Dominic, trying to cheer him up* Look! I'm the voice of the forest, I can create life in every place! Even here! *a small light appear in her hands, taking the form of a little seed. As the seed fall and touches the ice, a little plant starts to grow, but dies instantly. Celebi huffed* Well, maybe I still needs some practice. So... You are a hybrid? That's cool! I've never heard of hybrids in my world. Isn't it like, too much work to also take care of antimatter?
Tumblr media
With a grunt, the hulking hybrid leaps from the ground into the skies. While flight was never any issue before, his movements are less sleek as his wounds begin to hinder him. He would have to he careful.
“Those springs should he nearby…”

Question for the whole patchwork cast:
What is a skill you would really like to learn or master someday?
Patch: Well, I don't plan on living long after I fix Jasper. I suppose, given more time, I would learn how to swim.
Jasper: A skill? Uhhh, does maladaptive daydreaming count as a skill? If not, mind control (that totally counts).
Buia: Metal working, but it's so flipping hard with paws. I can't hold a blowtorch so I tried eating 3 blast seeds at once and releasing it in a slow controlled stream. It didn't end well. *sighs dreamily* I need a forge.
Caspian: A skill I'd like to master? Tracking. For the next time my idiot son sneaks out after curfew. I spent years chasing Grovyle but he at least leaves physical traces behind. The only thing I can use to follow Patch is the trail of angst: That stuff is palpable.
Forrest: Oh, there's so many. I've got so much time, I'm gonna try it all. Baking, sewing, art, music, the lot!
Celebi: Darling, I've got all the time in the world. I am master of the forests. I can slip through time and am beloved by all. I can learn any skill I want. Except! Singing! Why, oh why, does my singing voice sound like Loudred?

Hey who wants to see the first chapter of an old time loop submas fic I started back in 2022
Great, here you go:
(No warnings that I can think of; please inform me if I should tag or mark anything)
Celebi had been summoned many times in its long life, called to the Ilex Forest by countless people as Time dragged on and on in an endless march marked by monotone ticking. Whether or not those calls and summons were heeded was entirely up to Celebi itself, and what, precisely, motivated it to appear to one person over the next was known only to itself.
Perhaps it was a sense of mercy.
Perhaps it was curiosity.
Perhaps Celebi could see into the hearts of those who called for it and judged from there whether or not a person was worthy of a wish.
Perhaps it was none of these things, perhaps it was all of them, perhaps it was nothing at all.
Celebi hovered there in the Ilex Forest, crystalline wings fluttering on its back as it appeared in a flicker of light and a flurry of sparkles like the fairy it was. Power thrummed in the air around it as the tiny creature’s lips curled in an ever-present smile, eyes fluttering open to peer down at its summoner.
Goodness, it could see this man’s very soul, and what a sight it was – Time had not been kind to him at all, exacerbating the symptoms of heartbreak instead of healing them. Cracks ran through his very core, fissures of stress and anguish and desperation, and Celebi’s own heart throbbed for this poor man, sympathy running alongside curiosity and unnameable emotions as it looked over every tearstained bit of his flagging heart.
Celebi tilted its head, smiling patiently.
“What is your wish, human?”
He’d gone rigid with its appearance, disbelief and shock showing in his eyes like he hadn’t expected it to really appear. Celebi’s smile was reflected in a twisted manner on his face, more of a grimace, but at the sound of its bell-like voice asking for his request, the disbelief and tension melted away to make way for tentative euphoria. He choked in a gasp of air, tightly-clenched fists releasing for a moment, and he straightened his spine, lifting his chin despite the tremors Celebi saw rattling his form.
“I am Emmet,” he said, clear and monotone yet so very, very exhausted, “and I –”
He faltered for an instant, his voice hitching, and Celebi could feel, almost see his pain become tangible as feelings of pain, loss, need, separation shuddered through his soul.
“My brother and I have been decoupled,” he said, swallowing hard. “For a verrrrry long time.”
Years, he didn’t say, but Celebi knew nonetheless, years ago, five, almost six.
“I want him back.” His fists tightened, tight enough to draw blood if not for his gloves. “How things were before. I never wanted to lose him. I do not want to lose him. I do not want us to ever be separated again.”
Twins, the same age, together from conception, individuals but two sides of the same coin.
He licked his lips, drawing in a breath, silver eyes never leaving Celebi’s softly glowing form.
“I wish to never be separated from my brother ever again – for it to have never happened, and to never happen. That is my wish.”
Grant it, please, please have enough power, he didn’t say.
Celebi tilted its head the other way, wings fluttering softly, blue eyes wide and scouring.
After a moment, it blinked.
Then, Celebi smiled at the torn-up, determined man before it, inclining its head with a glint in its irises.
“As you wish, Emmet.”
Time ground to a halt, splitting, tearing, reversing, reforming – Dialga would have a fit at it later, for sure, but a wish was a wish, and Celebi had heeded this one – Time looped back on itself countless times over, veering around the will of Celebi and the will of fate itself.
Ilex Forest was washed in blinding, pure white light, and when it faded, only Celebi remained, hovering over the dish of offerings, a gentle, sad smile on its lips.
---------
Emmet felt the ground fall out from beneath his feet, the pull of gravity yanking him down as light flooded his vision, bright and all-consuming and blinding, searing his retinas with burning, cold white.
It faded into black, thick as tar yet easily breathable as he sank into it.
His fall slowed and up was down, left was right, light was shadow and cold was hot, everything reversed, its own inversion, and for a single, petrifying moment, his lungs seized as his head throbbed with enough pain that it felt like it would split open.
Emmet blinked, and a feeling of weightlessness came over him as a loud voice echoed in his ears, distracting him from the pain in his temples.
Train no. 1 will leave the station momentarily. Thank you for your continued patience.
“What?”
His own voice was clear as water, but staccato, a single burst of sound, unlike the ringing voice that surrounded him like an announcement over the P.A. system at Gear Station back home.
We will now be leaving the station. Best of luck on your travels. Have a good day.
Emmet once again fell, his yell of utter confusion left behind as he tumbled down, down, down, into the endless abyss as the announcement repeated itself one more time.

Marshlily dreams of the Dark Forest again. The smell of rot fills her nostrils, and she retches, barely holding down the contents of her stomach. She’d dreamt about it every night for moons now, but she still can’t get used to the squelching of mud between her toes, the only sound in the uncannily silent expanse. What did she do to end up here, so far from StarClan?
She takes a few steps forward, but quickly stumbles. The shaking is worse here, rapid jerks that make it difficult to walk—not that trying to run away would save her.
“Is anyone here?” she calls, as she always does; her words are chopped up by the tremors that wrack her body. It’s with a frozen feeling in her stomach that Marshlily realizes that that’s not the only thing cutting her off; in what feels like just seconds, her throat has become clogged with foul-tasting blood. She hacks it up, splattering red on the damp ground, but it just keeps coming, choking her more and more by the second no matter how much she coughs and splutters.
This hasn’t happened before. This is new. Panting between coughs, she stares down at the pool of blood that’s growing on the grass before her. She’s faint, fainter than she should be; it’s not so much a loss of blood that makes the world bleary, but a sort of … a sort of … Marshlily shakes her head, unable to think of some way to describe it but finding herself unable to think of the words.
She digs her claws into the earth to keep herself grounded. Her mind, however, can’t be gathered so easily; the dissolving feeling lingers. I’m all apart, the part of her that remains within in her grasp thinks. Through a mouth of blood, she gives a garbled cry once again: “Is anyone here? Help me!”
After a few moments of silence, Marshlily hangs her head and whines gutturally. Why does she even try anymore? Nobody ever answers …
And then someone does.
A familiar voice echoes in her ears, high-pitched and scratchy: “Marshlily …”
Weakly, Marshlily lifts her head, her ears pricked. “... Hornetstar?” she asks. “Where are you?”
“We care about you, Marshlily.” “We need you, Marshlily.” “Come home, Marshlily.”
Marshlily looks frantically from side to side, looking for Celebi, Crageagle, and—her heavy heart jumps in her chest—Charredtail. “Where are you? Where is everyone? Did you come to rescue me?”
As the voices continue, they begin to sound closer, and with some time, Marshlily can pinpoint the direction they’re from. She takes a wobbly step toward them, but she makes it only a few taillengths before the voices of her loved ones fall quiet and a piercing scream erupts inside her brain. It’s like that alien feeling she’s been having, but worse, overwhelming her senses. There are no words put to it, no way to understand what’s going on, just a desperate yowl.
“Leave me alone!” Marshlily cries. “Let me go!” She sinks to the ground in a heap as the screeching continues and begins to scream herself, wearing her bleeding throat raw. Of course it wouldn’t let her go. Of course her only hope would be a trap. The dissolving feeling, which had dissipated slightly, comes back with a vengeance. She really could just lie there and give in—it’d be a lot less painful …
As soon as she resigns herself to the faintness, though, something cuts through the screaming. It’s faint, but it’s there, and little by little it gets louder until Marshlily can finally hear it clearly: “I love you, Marshlily. I’ll always love you.”
It takes Marshlily a few moments to recognize the voice, but when she does, her breath stops in her chest. “Mom?” she asks, her voice wobbling. “Mom, is that you?” Half-remembered memories float to her head: milk scent; a soft, murmuring voice; the warmth of her siblings snuggled up against her.
The voice doesn’t answer. Instead, it continues, “You have to keep going.”
It’s with uncertaintly that Marshlily gets to her paws, and the screaming in the back of her head never relented, but nonetheless, she does. Her movements are jerky and discoordinated, and she stumbles over her paws more than once, but with nothing else to do, she follows the voices of her loved ones: “It’ll be okay, Marshlily.” “You have to keep trying.” “Just follow my voice …”
She can’t begin to tell how long it takes—it could have been minutes or days; they’re all the same here—but eventually, as Marshlily continues in her unsteady gait, something shifts behind the rotting trees. The air here is always a bit misty, but this is different: a hulking wall of fog hangs ahead of her, condensing in mere seconds as she approaches, as if it were waiting for her.
Tentatively, Marshlily pads through the last few trees ahead of her and into a small clearing. She can see the fog clearly from here; it writhes like something alive, but she doesn’t find herself unsettled by the breath-like undulations. Instead, she’s overwhelmed by a feeling of welcomeness and love. She takes a few steps toward it and realizes something: she can walk straight now. The jerking has stopped, and when she swallows, she finds that there’s no taste of blood in her mouth any longer. She’s thinking clearer, too.
“Come here,” a chorus of voices says, and Marshlily grits her teeth. What if it’s a trap? What if she never gets better? What if she falls right back into the thrall of whatever—whoever—is screaming inside her head?
But then, what other choice does she have …? It’s stay here and dissolve into nothingness or risk the pain of whatever might lie on the other side. With just enough trust to allow the warmth of it, Marshlily braces herself and runs through.
She jolts awake into a world of silence. No, it’s not silent … there’s the birds, the rustling of leaves in the wind, the rushing water of a nearby stream. What’s silent is the inside of her head: no screaming; no vicious, alien thoughts; just her own internal monologue, so much clearer than it has been in moons.
Marshlily takes a few breaths in and out, in and out, then closes her eyes shut. What if this is just a dream? What if this is the Dark Forest playing tricks on her? How can she trust it?
Tentatively, she brings herself to her paws and stares out across the land; she’d run far from the Cavern the night before, but she’s still high enough up that she can see across all four territories from here. There’s PrairieClan’s, out in the tall grass of the moor; that over there is SerpentClan’s, wrapped in the shadows of the forest; and way on the opposite side is MoonClan’s, a mix of warm sand and tall trees. They’ve never looked so beautiful. Surely the Place of No Stars and its denizens could never create a place like this.
“Marshlily!”
The echoing voice comes from somewhere above her, and Marshlily turns to see Hornetstar bounding down the rocks, Hubert, Celebi, and Nettledawn in tow. She slows down as she approaches, her pawsteps becoming (rightfully) tentative, but she doesn’t flinch away in fright, which is more than Marshlily could ask for, really.
“Hi, everyone,” Marshlily croaks, and winces at the ache in her throat. For a brief, panicked moment, she thinks it’s blood that’s making her voice groggy; common sense kicks in when she realizes that the only thing she tastes is stale morning breath. She laughs at herself internally; of course her throat is sore, she’s been sleeping for … “How long was I gone?”
“Days!” Hornetstar says. “You weren’t responding, just flailing around and talking to someone. Were you dreaming about Kestreltail?”
Marshlily can’t keep back a melancholy smile at the sound of her mother’s name. “A little bit.”
“Come on, stop with the chatting,” Hubert says, taking a couple steps toward Marshlily. “How are you feeling? Are you still sick?”
Marshlily thinks on it for a long moment. The violence in her head is gone; she turns to Hornetstar and hears no disembodied urge to attack. She turns to walk a few paces this way and that, and her body doesn’t jerk, or even twitch. “I don’t think so,” she says finally, turning back to the others. “I think I might be okay.”
As soon as the words are out of her mouth, Hornetstar is pressed up against her, purring up a storm. “I was so worried! I thought you were going to … I mean, I was scared that …”
Marshlily chuckles and nuzzles her face into Hornetstar’s shoulder. “You and me both, Hornet,” she says, voice muffled by her thick pelt. “You and me both.”

Sorry, Jimmy. Sorry, Mona. He knew that he was supposed to stay at home with them. That he was grounded and supposed to wait for his dad to return, watching over his unconscious Celebi.
Tumblr media
But the talking pizza man who made him a grilled cheese once made too convincing of an argument, and he's rather sick of being placed on the sidelines.
Besides, that thing killed his sister.
He's not alone, anyway.
"This was a terrible idea, boy." Please, obviously, came with him, as well as CC's Igglybuff strapped to Gold in a baby carrier.
"CC saved Dad." Gold swallows as he takes in the chaotic battlefield of various muses, sticking to the shadows. He's already dropped his sleeves, revealing his true horrifying visage... though Igglybuff doesn't seem to mind all that much. "We gotta avenge her. Even if we can't get her back--"
Please huffed, blowing steam through her nostrils. "The Voice of the Forest isn't even awake yet. And you left Forever and Sable with them."
Gold frowns. "Sable'll keep Forever in line. I think."
"We can only hope." Please enters a battle stance as the two set upon a crowd of clones, all hungrily turning to face the group of them. "Alright, boy, say the word."
"Alright, Please!" Gold nods forwards, towards the group of Fake Noises descending on them. "Use Earthquake!"
Please roars, and the battle begins.

Okay yep yeah mhm okay I have woken up twice now to this being real. I'm going to make an intro post to get used to writing with a stylus and without thumbs.
Hello, my name is Lily Westbrook. Hopefully. I don't know how this works. I definitely still go by she/her.
I used to live in Eterna City. I wanted to meet my first ever pokemon buddy, so I went into Eterna Forest last night. Something happened, and I think someone had my phone while I was out?
If I take a photo maybe y'all will believe me, but I'm a Buizel now. Hold on, maybe I ca
[An image is attached.]
[Image ID: A poorly angled selfie of a Buizel, wearing a flower accessory. The Eterna Forest's Old Chateau can be seen in the background.]
n add a photo oh gods why did it put it in the middle like that I'm not fixing that
I still don't know why all my writing is orange. Is it because I'm a pokemon now? Is my phone playing pranks on me is that a thing that can happen
UPDATE: Turns out I'm a girl buizel and this was the best worst thing to ever happen to me. I still don't know if anyone in Eterna City will be able to figure out what happened to me, or if they'll even believe me, but I just. I'm so happy, guys.
Double UPDATE: I kinda feel like how I feel about life is going to keep drifting away from the tone of my original intro post but like. It feels weird to make a new one so I'mma just... leave it like that I think. For now. Important note: I'm no longer in Eterna, but headed to live in Goldenrod.
Triple UPDATE: I was able to figure out why my text was getting orange'd, and also was told that it was messing with some people's ability to read things I wrote, so I was able to apply that fix to the text. Though uhhh. I'm still leaving that mess in there. It's funny to me.
//OOC under the cut
//Hello! This is Astra (she/they) from my main (NSFW) @astralikacastle. This is a character I've had in my head for a long time, though my kinda fucked up brain doesn't quite know where to take it after the prologue.
//But basically, forever in my head I've had 'what if someone got turned into a pokemon and they had to deal with that and how it made them feel about gender' and now it's here. =3
//I do prommy to try to keep this blog as SFW as possible, though where the line between Mildly Suggestive and NSFW lies isn't always the same for everyone (especially with how Tumblr's been treatin' trans folk lately) so I'm not making guarantees, just promises to try.

//What is the Comm-Everstone?
The Comm-Everstone is an Everstone, small enough to act as the 'gem' of a choker, and enchanted by Laplace to duplicate the effects of a sci-fi Translator. The stone translates Lily's buizel-chitter Poke-Speech and emits an ethereal voice that repeats her words in Human Speech. Whichever voice the listener best understands is brought to the forefront of their perception, preventing any 'cross-talk' from obscuring her words. Notably, it is still quite obvious to the listener that these words are being translated, and not simply Imparting Understanding. (Though, it being magic may be a little unsettling, still.)

Note
really, though, how do you think time would react to celebi? like maybe celebi can feel how time had time traveled since it's a time traveler it's self? add in time has a close bond to the forest, having been raised by the kokiri, and the fact celebi is called 'guardian of the forest' or 'the voice of the forest', and celebi just decides time is their new favorite human!
I think it'll only Celebi an existential crisis. Like I'm sure they would be able to tell that Time is kinda like them- but clearly isn't. Something different. But still the same. Not theirs- but also has a similar signature.
The poor thing is going to be flying circles around Time trying to figure the man out because he's not pokemon- but he's not human and he's definitely not fairy but by Arceus he smells like one.
Hyrule does too- but it's stronger than Time- and hence less questionable. He's just a fairy that looks weird.
Time is a fairy that isn't.
Time would be just as confused, following the creature with the one eyes he has. It would be enough to make him dizzy.
Celebi figures that maybe he's simply from a different forest. Or a new Pokémon that's evolved- but still a forest fairy and is from that point, theirs. :D
