The Mysterious case of: Annie Borjesson
30 year old Annie Borjesson was a Swedish woman who lived in Edinburgh. She was preparing to fly from her home back to Sweden for a well-anticipated Christmas trip, she had even booked a hair appointment for her return and also paid a month of her rent in advance.
On December 3rd 2005, she leaves for her trip and airport CCTV footage captures her alone making her way to check in for her flight: when suddenly for an unknown reason she turns around and heads back out of the airport and walks off towards the local beach.
She is not seen again.
December 4th 2005, a man walking his dog came across a disturbing and saddening scene, a young woman lying still, face down under a sea wall along Prestwick beach, Scotland.
The man contacted the police, they arrived promptly in just 10 minutes and were able to positively identify her by some items found alongside her body, it was Annie Borjesson, found dead just 80 miles from her home in Edinburgh.
Between her disappearance and discovery there is only one unconfirmed report of a witness claiming to see a woman matching her description, standing at the water's edge, staring off into the distance at around 4:30pm.
Oddly Annie’s remains were moved to a mortuary within just 100 minutes from the time she was found, leaving speculation that they were unable to completely investigate any forensic evidence that could be found on scene. Investigators reason that it was due to the rising tide.
December 5th 2005, a letter from the Scottish authorities claims they suspect her cause of death was a suicide but they had not yet conducted a post-mortem investigation as of yet.
However Annie’s family firmly denied any suspicion of suicide, saying they have no reason to believe their daughter would do that.
Her autopsy was conducted at Ayr Hospital, in which her cause of death was concluded to be most likely drowning, however the report also states there was no evidence of trauma or any significant injuries, however that wasn’t what the undertaker who handled her body would say.
The undertaker who was responsible for sending her body back to Sweden says they observed “significant bruising to her body which, for reasons I cannot explain to you, I believe was not included in her autopsy report.” They specifically expressed that her body was in “extremely poor” condition.
Then the undertaker who received her body observed “finger marks around her neck”, and “extensive bruising on her body like someone had repeatedly hit her”. They also described Annie’s beautiful long blonde hair that was now chopped into a rough bob with a reported bald patch “as though someone had just grabbed it and ripped it right out of her head.”
Also tests performed on her body found microscopic creatures that come from a freshwater environment, which is strange considering she was found and supposedly drowned in the Firth of Clyde, which is salt water.
In 2023 a journalist named Hazel Martin filed a ‘Freedom of Information’ request for photos taken during Annie’s first forensic examination but was refused as it was deemed to be “not in the public’s interest.” Similarly Annie’s family have also been denied access to these photographs for the same reason.
Annie’s family believe she was beaten, drowned and placed at Prestwick beach.
One leading theory presented by journalist Kristina Börjesson states that U.S intelligence was flying suspected terrorists to various places worldworld, and they notoriously used Prestwick Airport to get prisoners from the Middle East to other prisons. The theory insinuates that agents must have somehow mistaken Annie for a suspect, which ultimately leads to her death. Adding more fuel to the theory another journalist requested to see any correspondence between the Swedicsh and Scottish governments regarding Annie’s death, but was refused because any material could “harm their relations with a foreign state”.
It is also known that Annie’s case is considered a “Classified State Secret in Sweden.
A young woman’s supposed suicide is a classified state secret? How odd.
Rest in peace, Annie Borjesson.

Fucking hell…my apartment building CLEARLY said in an email sent a month ago that maintenance would have to come in every apartment for winter check ups, and that my floor’s turn would be December 4th. I waited the whole day yesterday for them to come in (because I’m uncomfortable with them being in my apartment while I’m not there) and they never came. Which was really annoying cause I had moved everything out of my closet (they would need to go check on something in it) in preparation plus I wasted the day waiting for them when I could have been doing the many errands I have.
Well, I decided to ask the front office later today about why they didn’t come in the day they said they would. I’m in my bed naked (cause I slept like that the night before lol) and half asleep when I hear a knock on the front door and not even two seconds later I hear maintenance OPEN the door. Thankfully I always sleep with my bedroom door locked but I was still freaked out and went “uh, hello???” They did leave when I told them to give me a moment and had to put on some clothes and when I opened the front door there are like three men out there and I’m like “pls don’t come in for maintenance now is not a good time cause I have a therapy appointment soon (and also my room is a mess and I’m not wearing a bra but they don’t need to know that)” I asked why they were here now when the email said they’d be here yesterday and they were like “no it’s supposed to be today” ok sure
Anyways, I have a therapy appointment AND a doctor’s appointment today for a procedure and I’m freaking out cause I’m praying they don’t try to come into my apartment while I’m gone. I get really anxious about strangers being in what is meant to be my safe space and being around my belongings when I’m not there (especially men). I’m not one to really complain about ppl doing their jobs, but them not coming in the day my apartment said they would really screwed me over and put me in an uncomfortable position. I’ll have to go to the front desk and ask what the hell is up with this and beg them to make sure that maintenance doesn’t come into my apartment while I’m gone. If I come back from my procedure of having doctor’s stick stuff up my nose and find that a bunch of men were in my room while I wasn’t there I will have a panic attack and cry

"Supreme Court Stresses Child’s Welfare in Custody Disputes: Habeas Corpus Not Appropriate for Custody Decisions"
The Supreme Court emphasized that child custody decisions should prioritize the child’s welfare over the legal rights of parents. The Supreme Court ruled that custody should not be disturbed based on the Habeas Corpus petition. The child had been with the maternal family for over a year, and the sudden transfer of custody to the father, whom the child had not seen in a long time, could cause distress.
Background
The case revolves around the custody dispute of a two-year-old child after the tragic and unnatural death of her mother in December 2022. After the mother's death, the child's maternal aunts (appellants) took the child into their custody without the father's consent.
The father (4th respondent) was arrested and later released on bail due to pending charges under dowry-related offenses.
The father and paternal grandparents of the child filed a petition seeking custody through a writ of Habeas Corpus, which was granted by the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
However, the maternal relatives argued that the best interests of the child were not considered, and the Supreme Court was approached to review the case.
Legal Issue
Whether the High Court was correct in awarding the child's custody to the father and paternal family without adequately considering the child's welfare.
Whether the writ of Habeas Corpus was the appropriate remedy for deciding child custody in the absence of substantive proceedings under the Guardians and Wards Act.
Contention of the Parties
Appellants (Maternal Relatives):
The High Court failed to assess the child's welfare and merely transferred custody based on the father's legal rights.
They contended that the custody should not be disturbed without examining what is best for the child, especially given the tender age and the fact that the child had been in their care since the mother’s death.
Respondents (Father and Paternal Relatives):
The father, is a natural guardian, had a superior right to custody, and the maternal family was illegally holding the child.
The father and grandparents were capable of taking care of the child.
Courts Judgement
The child custody decisions should prioritize the child’s welfare over the legal rights of parents.
The Court observed that the High Court had not sufficiently considered the welfare of the child and had mechanically transferred custody to the father and paternal grandparents.
The child had been with the maternal family for over a year, and the sudden transfer of custody to the father, whom the child had not seen in a long time, could cause distress.
The substantive proceedings under the Guardians and Wards Act were more appropriate for deciding custody issues.
The Court further observed that Family Courts were better equipped to handle such matters by interacting with the child, appointing experts, and ensuring the welfare of the child.
It remanded the case to the appropriate forum for a proper determination of custody.

Good afternoon TUMBLR - April 4th - 2024
''Mr. Plant has owed me a shoe since July 5, 1971."
Aksai, Kazakhstan - July 2000 - December 2001.
Part 1.
A few months after returning from Nigeria, I went to Busseto to sign the contract to go to Kazakhstan.
My son and my friend Gianluigi were with me: we spent a beautiful day having lunch under a plane tree in Roncole Verdi, right in front of the birthplace of the Great Maestro Giuseppe Verdi.
House where Giuseppe Verdi was born in October 1813
FIRST JOURNEY TO KAZAKHSTAN The trip was something unusual: an appointment at Malpensa airport with a guy called Di Meo, who would be the surveyor of the project. The destination was Uralsk, a city in the North-West of Kazakhstan. At the moment there were no direct flights, nor connections with international airlines with that city, so AGIP offers a charter that will stop in London-Stanstead before heading to Uralsk. Check-in was atypical, in the sense that there were no tickets, but just a list of passengers theground hostess receives from AGIP Company itself. This was the cause of quite a few problems, because many times the passenger's name does not appear on the list, but since the passengers were AGIP employees, they were allowed on the plane anyway. We left for London and we were about 30 Italians, all of us involved in construction activities. Eventually about 70 Britishers will board the plane at Stanstead airport: all of Planners, Contract Administrators, HSEs, Quantity Surveyors - in short, all office people, and, as I will know later, with contracts worth 20,000+ dollars/month and 28/28 rotation. Practically, the demonstration that colonialism ended on paper, but in reality it still exists and thrives today.
After an uncomfortable flight, we arrived in Uralsk early in the morning - it was early July, but it was cold like we were in February. First impact with the Kazakh border police: hats of absurd dimensions, immediately renamed ''4 seasons pizza'' - airport in pure Soviet style, with corridors and doors to enter small rooms, which have doors that lead to other corridors and other rooms. Eventually, surrounded by an excessive number of cops, we arrived in front of an agent who goes through a passenger's list and asks questions in Russian that no one can answer (but this doesn't seem to matter much to him). In the meantime other policemen are walking around us, looking at our faces very closely (perhaps to check the iris of our eyes?) sometimes whispering sentence like:
Do you have drugs with you?
The most important thing is that our names are on the list, on one of those teleprinter sheets from the past, which while we are there continues to belch out paper that accumulates folded on the ground, one sheet on top of the other. Anyone who does not appear on the list is put in a corner: this is the case of a Neapolitan from AGIP (who I later discovered was a cashier). At the threat of having him leave immediately for Italy (the charter returned with the people who had completed the shift) like a ''good Neapolitan'' he started making a Neapolitan drama. With tears and sobs, he first convinced the Kazakh cop to leave him on separate room - later an AGIP official would speak to the airport police head, to let him enter the country (among other things, the Neapolitan was in possession of a Resident Visa, so why stop him at the border?). Because from the perspective of ex-Soviet Immigration Police the policy was ''if a person is not on the list, don't let him through'' - and they respected the orders to the letter.
DI MEO NEW CELL PHONE. So Di Meo, as the project's surveyor, was given the thankless task of bringing the tools of the trade to Kazakhstan, including the latest generation T3 total station. We were then invited by police to go up to airport first floor, to complete the formalities for temporarily importing the equipment. We climbed the stairs with difficulty, loaded like mules, with luggages, staffs, backpacks etc, and after an interminable hour of signatures, countersignatures and stamps on forms strictly printed in Cyrillic, we managed to reach the AGIP bus that would take us to Aksai , about 150 km north of Uralsk. BUT..............Without surveying equipment, of course!!! Yes, because customs officers would never have missed a golden opportunity to ''snatch'' some money from foreigners who wanted to import something into their country. But Di Meo and I were simple ''employees'', so the message to report to Company management was: ''We must check the actual correspondence of the serial numbers of the equipment with those noted on the import request''. So, they said, in a couple of days send the guy of your company who deals with customs, and all the equipment will be delivered to him. The other passengers greeted us with sighs and dirty looks when, after more than an hour of waiting, we boarded the bus which immediately left for Aksai. Once seated, Di Meo said:
Well, since we have a couple of hours of travel, let's see how my new mobile phone that I got at Malpensa duty free is doing. And he started rummaging in his backpack but… no trace of the cell phone box!! He searched desperately in all numerous pockets, but nothing, the cell phone had disappeared! So we started making hypotheses like: ''when did you last see him, where did you put your backpack etc…'' The bitter conclusion was that the only moment in which someone could have put their hands in the ruckzack and stolen the phone was precisely when, in theory, it should have been safer: in the Customs Police corridor at the Airport!
But in two days I'll go back to the airport too, and then they'll hear me!! Said Di Meo........ His Kazakh adventure began in the worst possible way.
AKSAI We reached Aksai after a boring 3 hrs journey: the steppe surrounding the highway was incredibly monotonous (I think the main reason why Genghis Khan continued to ride towards the West for weeks and months was: TO SEE SOMETHING DIFFERENT OF ALL THAT YELLOW-GREEN ENDLESS EXTENSION !!) Aksai was a town of 35,000 inhabitants perfectly similar to all the other hundreds of former Soviet Union cities and towns scattered throughout the immense Ex - Empire. During 1954–1961, engineer Vitaly Lagutenko, chief planner of Moscow since 1956, designed and tested the mass-scale, industrialized construction process, relying on concrete panel plants and a quick assembly schedule. During 1961, Lagutenko's institute released the K-7 design of a prefabricated 5-story building that became typical of the khrushchevka. The khrushchevkas were cheap, and sometimes an entire building could be constructed within two weeks. Poor quality construction has since become a liability, leading Moscow to announce the Moscow Urban Renewal Initiative an effort to replace structures that ended their functional lives.of what the prefabricated condominiums that formed the so-called ''Micro-Rayon'' (Neighborhoods) should have looked like.
Whether it was Moscow, St. Petersburg, Chelyabinsk, Tomsk or Vladivostock or Crimea, the apartment blocks were ALL the same. Ground floor used as a portico, seven or eight floors, without lift (those that had one didn't work) 2 or 3-room apartments (depending on who was going to live there, and in 3-room apartments it was not uncommon for two to live different families). In the center of the neighborhood there was a mini power plant generally powered by gas, for the production of hot water which was distributed to the various users with insulated pipes above ground, sometimes making it difficult to access the condominiums themselves - for which there were iron stairs that went over the pipes. Pipes which over the years, due to the absolute lack of maintenance, lost their sheet metal insulation and rock wool because people walked on them.
Always in a central position in relation to the houses, the public gardens, made up of games for children such as slides or revolving carousels, regularly broken down, rusty and abandoned.
The appearance of the condominiums was made extremely heartbreaking by the lack of accuracy with which they had been built, by the paucity of the materials and above all by an inveterate habit that I would have found in all the cities of the former Soviet Union: that of closing the balcony with the materials more diverse! I have never seen a veranda the same as another in 7 years of Kazakhstan! And then the last big innovation introduced after independence from the Soviet Union: the possibility of opening small businesses, such as mini-shops or ''restaurants'' in your own apartment on the first floor. Since access to these shops or restaurants could not be from the common stairs, absurd stairs had been built outside the buildings, which in a single flight led from the street level to the first floor - very dangerous in winter, with ice always present on the steps. Then there was the ''old'' Aksai in the sense of a part of the city made up of that type of Russian wooden houses, surrounded by mangy gardens, the rear courtyard was often used as a ''landfill'' in the sense that the owners there they accumulated old objects (see
(even a bus) with the philosophy of 'who knows'…maybe one day it could be useful…. And the roofs of these houses are all strictly in Eternit!! Equipped with malfunctioning water systems, the winter regularly saw queues of children with wooden sleds getting water from the few public pumps that did not freeze. Another characteristic of Aksai (as of all other cities) is the gas distribution network: the 2 and a half inch pipe, yellow in colour, ran about 2-3 meters above ground, supported by improbable iron posts, in around the neighborhoods, with 3 or 4 meter portals at the entrances to the houses.
CZECH CAMP
We, the privileged foreigners, all stayed at Czech Camp, a compound built by the Czechoslovaks in 1956, made up of ''Vacta'' (two-storey wooden houses with 20 mini-apartments), offices of the companies that participated in the Karachaganak project, canteens , two clubs, and a series of terraced houses that had been built more recently. In all for around 5,000 people, and above all the only place in Aksai where there was never a shortage of water (a big problem for the city especially during winter time) . Entry to the Czech camp was regulated by strict procedures, inherited from the Soviet period. If we intended to receive a guest, he or she had to leave an identity document at the guard post and both the guest and the host had to sign the time of entry and exit in the register. And it shouldn't have been after midnight anyway. I was then assigned to Vacta 22, in a small apartment with 2 bedrooms and a bathroom, which I shared with Di Meo.
THE KARACHAGANAK PROJECT The Karachaganak project was an operation of gigantic dimensions, in which the ENI Group participated in a consortium made up of Shell, the Russians of Lukoil, British Gas, and the Japanese Impex. Later the Kazakh Kazmunaigas Company will purchase shares from all participants in the exploitation of the deposit, and will become part of the consortium. The oil reservoir, very large and productive (the Northern part was delimited by the Ural river which marked the border with Russia) was discovered in the 1950s and the Russians began to exploit it a few years later, with the decisive help of Czechoslovakian technology . There were 3 crude oil processing units - Unit 3 would have been subject to a profound revamping - Unit 2 will first be demolished (too old to think about modernization) and Unit 1 will be built ex new on the ashes of the old plant. SAIPEM, in joint venture with CCC (the Lebanese construction company owned by Arafat, for many years Sub-Contractor of SAIPEM itself) was part of the Main Works consortium, but it was quite shocking to see that in the logo of the joint venture the SAIPEM name appeared ''below'' that of CCC. I had arrived in Kazakhstan thanks to the ''recommendation'' of my old colleague and fellow in SAIPEM, Giulio Cotti. He had already been there for a few months, as Construction Manager of UNIT2. I already knew several people from SICIM since the Abu Dhabi Taweelah project: Borchia Giorgio, the Director - Mr. Secchi, Company Vice-President. Franco Pennacchia the Civil Supervisor – Mr. Cavicchi the handyman and many others. Then there were a whole series of figures that I would gradually get to know, some of them nice, some other no. Among the best was undoubtedly Remo Tamburlin, the chief mechanic: a Belluno native whose Italian speaking I struggled to understand, but he claimed to be able to speak Russian too. Carmelo Longo, Sicilian – head of pipe and carpentry installations. The two ''Engineers'' Rossi Aurelio and Cristiano were taken to gain experience and placed in the Quality office. Calogero Zinno, another Sicilian who in theory was the Construction Manager of Unit 3 but who I later replaced. Ido Presotto, Rossen Jordanov, Bulgarian with Italian passport. And then Secchi's "godson", Mentore.
UNIT 3 I was assigned to Unit 3, an old oil/gas separation plant built by the Czechoslovaks in 1956, at the dawn of exploitation of the Karachaganak field. Located about 40 km north of Aksai, we were reaching it every day with the Company's LADA NIVAs.
Basically our work consisted of revamping the Unit and that is:
Construction of a Centralized Control Room outside the perimeter of the plant.
Construction of the pipe rack and cable rack that would connect the system to the Control Room.
Laying of electro-instrumental cables and installation of control instruments within the system.
Construction of a new crude oil desulfurization unit
Construction of 4 Utilities tanks.
Assistance with the commissioning of new systems. The works themselves were not difficult to carry out, but the great difficulty consisted in having to work inside an old and dangerous rotten plant. Alarms for H2S leaks were the order of the day - it was mandatory to wear a backpack containing an oxygen bottle and a mask when entering the plant, which in the event of an emergency would have allowed around 20 minutes of survival. We had undergone a course on the dangers of H2S, and we had learned that breathing this gas for more than twenty seconds led first to fainting, and then to death.
VISIT TO BURLIN HOSPITAL One day we went to visit the hospital in Burlin, the capital of the so-called ''Oblast'' at about 40 km from Aksai. We wanted to see what type of assistance the hospital could provide in the event of illnesses or accidents. It was a sort of ''go to hell''. It was mid-August, and in addition to myself, Calogero Zinno and Franco Pennacchia were taking part in the mission. At halfway to destination we saw a sort of petrol station, so we stopped for a drink, given the heat. We asked the lady who ran the station if she had ''svezheye pivo'' (fresh beer - Zinno blurted out a few words of Russo, given his previous experience in Ufa, Russia). The lady - quite old even though assigning ages to people in Kazakhstan is certainly not an easy exercise - without saying a word takes Pennacchia by the arm, who seemed to be the most ''in shape'' and drags him into the back of the shop. After placing Franco in front to a sort of manual pump, she orders him to ''pump'' vigorously until she tells him to stop. In the meantime, both Zinno and I look on, wondering what will happen, the lady places three large empty mugs under a rubber tube sticking out of the counter. In fact, after a few seconds, the beer begins to flow from the tube and fill the mugs. Halfway through the second mug, the Lady said ''ALT…ALT…'' to Pennacchia, to prevent the beer from spilling out of the third mug. The beer wasn't bad, even if it was actually at cellar temperature. Once we arrived in Burlin, we had no difficulty finding the hospital, since we were in a small like village, and the hospital building towered over the low houses. At first glance we immediately understood that the hospital would not be of any help to us. We were received by the Head Nurse, who kindly accompanied us inside the structure - which was old and run down, with dormitories with 20 or more beds, sometimes separated by curtains. Everything very clean and with that typical smell of sawdust and disinfectant. The nurse told us that they couldn't do much there in case of accidents or illnesses of a certain severity. But the thing that really left us speechless was when Zinno asked to use the toilet, and the nurse showed him some toilets in the hospital courtyard. Zinno then asked if those were for visitors, but the nurse - visibly embarrassed - replied that they were the only services available, both for patients, for staff, and for visitors.!! What we immediately thought of was the extreme discomfort for a sick person to have to go out into a courtyard to go to the bathroom, especially in winter, when the temperature could drop to -40 C. PS: among the socially useful works carried out by AGIP during that first year, there was the complete renovation of the Aksai hospital - it was made efficient and ready for any emergency, and decent in appearance, with a total expense of over 5 million EUR.

update time/day pt 1
Okay so I feel the need to post an update for everyone. Where have you been/whats been going on with the lack of activity? Okay so this answer is several fold. Firstly back in September I had to put my ESA cat down named Princess. I had her since winter 2011, she was found by my parents on the parking lot of their job. She had to be put down because she had lung cancer that was causing blood clots and she could no longer walk or jump without stumbling/falling over and her heart was not strong enough for treatment. I spent close to 2k USD on her treatment and ensuring she passed comfortably and that didn't include getting her a nice urn as I don't know what I want to do with the ashes a whopping 7 months later. I then spent the rest of September and all of October mourning heavily. Eating/Drinking and everything fell to the waist side. It did not help that my family was trying to be supportive in the wrong ways and then screaming/bitching me out for getting upset at their idea of support. November I had extra days off preplanned because of daylight savings time so I found and made myself a tattoo appointment to get her name and pawprint tattooed on me in memory. I did that and originally i'd planned on waiting until December to try and recoup more money since two grand is a lot of money. My therapist didn't think i'd wait that long and despite some for lack of a better term personal shaming in a discord server where someone was talking about "how they prefer to give time to mourn the animal and treat them as their own person" The day after I got my tattoo I took a bunch of donations to an animal shelter and figured i'd look around. That was when I saw him. This sad little kitten with a cone and only 3 little legs looking so broken in a cage and stitches where the 4th leg should've been, he pawed at me and caught my jacket when they were trying to take him out to clean the cage. I filled out the forms and met with him and he curled up right in my lap in between exploring and I knew then and there I needed to take him home with me. After that he came home with me and the healing slowly began. The rest of the adults in the house love him and the dogs are scared of him for some reason. Come mid to late November I got really really sick. I was sick for over three weeks and the doctors didn't do much of anything. First week I tried OTC, second week I broke down and went to the doctor and they said have a cough suppressant but no real meds because of (insert medical condition you have) but then offered me medical advice that goes against my medical condition. Week three I went and saw a different doctor in tears who wrote me a script for an antibiotic and sent me on my way. I sort of got better for maybe a week or two before someone else close to me got sick and then I got sick again. This time I went to the doctor right away because OTC meds were fucking with my eyesight and the male nurse/receptionist was having a mini melt down on my behalf and as it turns out there is a giant ass note in my medical file that i'm FUCKING ALLERGIC to them. The doctor pretty much told me to keep taking OTC meds but did give me an antibiotic script this time. This time it took another 3 weeks to get better. Part 2

So, this is a true one-shot. This is NOT a lie. I got into an accident this morning. I woke up normally like every other human but when I wanted to move my head, I felt a massive intense pain at the back of my neck and head area. When I stood up, I felt dizzy. But this all stopped when I laid down and slept a bit. My grandmother called my mom and she arrived s fast she can. The ambulance was called and they took me to the hospital. -----------------------------------------------------
The alarm clock went off through Y/N's phone. She groaned and reached to put it off. Just as she wanted to move her head, she felt an intense massive pain at the back of her neck and head area. The pain was so intense and aggressive that it paralyzed Y/N to move. She nearly cried because it was very painful! But she managed to push the tears down. She moved her head very carefully. She then managed to stand up but she felt extremely dizzy and hot. She even was pale! Just as she grabbed her things like her phone, the charger, her wristwatch, and her headphones, it got far worse. She wanted to lay down again. She really tried to reach the bed but then... she collapsed. Her face made contact with the ground. It wasn't luckily hard, but she, either way, felt her nose drip out blood. She bit her lip a little bit hard that it will be sure swollen later. She even felt hot! Due to collapsing, she dropped her stuff, creating noises.
There were fast footsteps heard and the door of her bedroom opened. It was her grandmother. The poor woman looked panicked once she saw her granddaughter laying on the floor. "N/N, are you ok?" She immediately helped her up and made sure that she laid down on the bed.
"I f-feel weak."
The grandmother then saw blood drops on the floor, the carpet. She picked up her granddaughter's stuff that was dropped and laid them on the table. "I'll call your mother and clean the blood. Oh my god..." She immediately left the bedroom to call Y/N's mother and once it was done, she started cleaning to get the blood off. Once it was done, she sat down on Y/N's bed and kept an eye on her.
There were noises heard since Y/N's granny lived in an apartment. There was an elevator. Y/N heard the elevator clearly and it stopped on the floor where Y/N's granny lived. The doors opened and she entered the place. She immediately entered the bedroom. Her eyes widened when she saw her daughter in a weak state. "What happened?"
"I-I don't know. She collapsed on the ground. She has a high temperature."
That's when Y/N heard that her mother will call the ambulance. Oh no... Please no needles! Y/N didn't have enough strength to respond she took small naps until the ambulance arrived. It was two grown-up adult males. They were friendly. At that time, Y/N managed to sit up on her bed, her feet touching the carpet floor. She explained everything to the men while her family watched worriedly. They checked her blood pressure and her temperature. Like this one thing where you put your finger in. Y/N's temperature went down back to normal quite fast and she even stood up! She even moved and she felt no dizziness! Huh, looks like her body took the action quickly. Y/N wanted not to get tested but her mother wanted her to. God... She's an overprotective mother since she's single and loved her child dearly.
Y/N's grandmother helped her granddaughter to actually put her pants on before the ambulance arrived. She carefully stood up while the men made sure that she didn't collapse again. Y/N's mother packed like Y/N's phone, wallet, and the book she published. She had to wait for a few days to finally hold her book in her hands. What's stupid was that she had to pay for her own book instead of getting it for free since she's the author after all. The world was so stupid sometimes...
For the first time in her whole life, she rode in an ambulance car. One man was driving while the other was with Y/N, writing important information of Y/N's mother's card ID. Y/N herself was 17, almost 18. Let's just say that the accident happened on the day when her mother was supposed to come over and hand her daughter the book. It was honestly a very sad day for Y/N... She was excited to hold her book in her hands but look t that... a freaking accident.
The ambulance finally arrived at the hospital and Y/N was checked this time by a nurse. Everything went fine. The doctor came to check on her and Y/N explained everything. The doctor explained that the pain might be caused due to sleeping positions or other reasons. And the attack of dizziness, it could be caused by stress.
"Ever since my father's passing, she had a very hard time accepting that he's not here anymore. I see her constantly trapped with her feelings and emotions. She might have possible autism but it's not sure yet because the tests didn't happen yet. She even confessed that she wanted to commit suicide by taking pills. We are going to a psychiatrist but it doesn't help sometimes." When Y/N looked at her mother, she had a sad and soft look.
The doctor looked shocked by Y/N's mother's story. He couldn't help but feel sad for the teenage girl. She suffered a lot and still does. No one deserved to go through this, especially a kid. He looked to Y/N's mother and told her that it's better to continue to go to a psychiatrist. That's when Y/N was finally letten go with her mother. But however, before they can ride fully home, she heard her mother make an appointment with the doctor for a blood test. Oh, come on!
Later~
Optimus heard the news of what had happened. He got very worried when he heard that Y/N fainted. In his processor, he knew that it could be from the stress. Ever since her grandfather's passing, she never got better. She would cry for days, she didn't eat for 3 days which caused her to feel dizziness and headaches. She nearly landed in the hospital because of this. She started having trouble with her emotions and feelings. Not only that, but 2 months later after Y/N's grandfather's passing, her mother had a discussion with her, and guess what she found out, Y/N's other grandfather passed away on December 23th! Y/N never met her other grandfather before. She never saw him but she did saw how he looked from photos. His death was kept a secret for 2 FREAKING MONTHS! Y/N's father went to live in England with his new 'family'. Y/N's father did everything, especially paying the bills but he found out that his girlfriend had enough money to actually pay the bills! She lied the entire time! Y/N's father quickly broke up with her so he lived alone now. Y/N remembered the day very well when she heard the news that her other grandfather passed away in December. She cried. Yes, she may have never met him but she's sad that she lost someone that she could never meet. She wanted always to meet him! But he mysteriously disappeared after Y/N's parent's wedding day! Y/N had so many questions at that time. Had he ever heard of her? Did he know that he had a granddaughter? And many other questions. Y/N was right to be mad at her family. She was furious for days and there's still anger in her, she just doesn't show it. She rather keeps it hidden.
On the 3rd of July, just as summer vacation began, Y/N traveled to Poland with her mother. Since her grandfather passed away in Poland, both mother and daughter had difficulties traveling. Corona was still out there and the airports were controlling the passengers. You need to have important documents and proof that you are fully vaccinated or negative. Y/N was not vaccinated so she had to the test and let me tell you, it was disgusting! You know, the long thick thin stick in your nose to get the cells? Y/N's mother was also not vaccinated so she had to do the test as well. On the 4th of July; she went to visit her grandfather's grave. It was so painful... Y/N's mother believed that it would ease the pain, but she was so wrong, it didn't ease at all! Y/N wanted badly to talk to her grandfather alone but her two aunts and her mother stood close by. She didn't get privacy at all. She was mad. Y/N refused to eat for hours as well. But eventually, she came to eat when it was time for dinner.
2 days later, she returned back to the cemetery. She was alone this time with her mom. She had one minute of silence with her mother and FINALLY, Y/N got the privacy she needed. She must have at least talked for 1 hour to her grandfather's grave because she spoke a lot. She was thankful that her mom understood her. She said at the end her goodbyes and wanted to hug his grave, but she felt ashamed, shy, and embarrassed so she only touched the cross and cried. She cried the whole time.
At that time, Y/N was fighting was depression for months now. It was not easy due to the loss of a loved one instead of an animal. She missed of course her pet friends she lost, but with people was very different. When you lose someone for the first time, it's so painful. It can take a long time to get over with or part pain will stay forever inside of you. Depression cannot be 'cured' but you can control it with your power. It's not easy and it can be stressful, exhausting, and painful as well. Pain can be felt in your heart. What's one of the most important things to NOT ever do to a depressed person was yelling. It happened to Y/N. Her aunt, or her second mother, who lived in Poland, texted her and asked how she was doing. Y/N responded that she's fine. But she also told also that texted if she doesn't get better because of her possible autism or mental illnesses, then she will not go to work. But what Y/N's second mother send next, made Y/N mad. She responded like she doesn't have mental illnesses and that she needed only more explanation. Seriously? That made Y/N cry! Why was she reacting fast? Why was she quickly angry? Why was she having bad days? Why was she losing interest in her activities sometimes? Why had she dark thoughts? Why would she cry a lot? Why was she having trouble with emotions and feelings? Think about other symptoms. Those were clear signs of depression. According to an American's website where the experts knew everything about the loss of a loved one and what can happen further in the future if you don't get better in like 5-6 months after you lost someone, the chances were high that you had depression but it's important to go to a doctor where it helps you and asked questions. It's important, to tell the truth. once it was done, the doctor will finally give you the diagnoses that you were waiting for what's happening inside of you.
Y/N had to wait sadly. Still waiting. It can take up to almost 1 year or 2 to meet the doctor where the diagnoses can be finally revealed. She had possible autism as well. It was very possible Asperger's Syndrome. It's autism where people have difficulties communicating with other people but also having trouble understanding. The person can talk very well but sometimes can be quiet as a mouse too. People who have it were very unique. They even don't like to be touched all the time and don't like to make eye contact. Y/N's grandmother was the first one to notice the symptoms and told her daughter, Y/N's mother, to bring her to the doctor but Y/N's mother didn't notice anything until finally years later when her father passed away. So, they're on the waiting list. I mean, they had to be.
But anyway, Y/N's mother caught her daughter crying after she was done chatting with her second mother. Sometimes, Y/N doesn't want to talk about why she's crying but she's sometimes being pushed a little bit too hard which was not smart at all. When Y/N explained why, let's just say that later, Y/N's own mother, started to yell at her. Yes, Y/N had been fighting for months but seriously? Y/N wanted to scream and fight back but she couldn't! But when the fight was finally done, Y/N's heart was full of pain and felt hopeless as well. Y/N's mother should have never yelled at her! The results will be only crying! Sometimes, it can give results of an attack or worse...
Later~
Y/N walked carefully while not wearing a cervical collar around her neck. The doctor said that she didn't have to wear it all the time and recommended to at least sometimes move carefully her neck. Y/N felt pain sometimes but it's healing. She couldn't laugh hard, not yawn widely, etc. It was so annoying! She still couldn't forget her mother's yelling inside her head and those memories will probably haunt her. She already got her first corona vaccine and tomorrow, she needed to take a blood test because ever since the accident, her health was getting suspicious. Y/N decided to confront her mother at the doctor tomorrow and teach her a lesson that yelling at a depressed person was not smart at all. Now that she's a self-published author, she's busy writing about her life to inspire and teach others. Her mother needed to learn too.
"Sweetspark, when I heard about your accident, I was very worried," Optimus said, who randomly appeared behind her.
Y/N turned around fully to let her neck heal. "I am fine now. Just giving my neck time to heal. Sorry about worrying you..." She felt ashamed.
Optimus wrapped her arms around her waist, causing her to relax and lean gently against him. "Please remember that you're not alone, sweetspark. We all are here to help you. What your carrier did was not smart but I am proud of you that you'll confront her about it."
Y/N only hummed and couldn't help but smile when she felt him leaving soft kisses where she felt pain at her neck and head area. She giggled and Optimus smiled.
P.S. when Y/N became an author, only her second ex, her family, and her followers on Wattpad congratulated her. None of her friends did. Do you consider this disrespectful rude or heartless?
Yes, readers. Every detail left there is all the truth, including the yelling as well. I got the first shot of the corona vaccine and I feel still small pain but it's not bad luckily like the HPV vaccine I got once. So painfully... But my mother feared that soon the entire country will force everyone to get vaccinated, except kids under 12. Sorry to disappoint you all about the shot... The part at the end of my friends not congratulating me is also the truth :(. Darn blood test tomorrow! I have a phobia of needles...

• Jean Moulin
Jean Pierre Moulin was a French civil servant who served as the first President of the National Council of the Resistance during World War II.
Jean Moulin was born at 6 Rue d'Alsace in Béziers, Hérault on June 20th, 1899, son of Antoine-Émile Moulin and Blanche Élisabeth Pègue. He was the grandson of an insurgent of 1851. His father was a lay teacher at the Université Populaire and a Freemason at the lodge Action Sociale. Jean Pierre Moulin was baptised on August 6th, 1899 in the church of Saint-Vincentin in Saint-Andiol (Bouches-du-Rhône), the village his parents came from. He spent an uneventful childhood in the company of his sister, Laure, and his brother Joseph. Joseph died after an illness in 1907. At Lycée Henri IV in Béziers, Jean was an average student. In 1917, he enrolled at the Faculty of Law of Montpellier, where he was not a brilliant student. However, thanks to the influence of his father, he was appointed as attaché to the cabinet of the prefect of Hérault. Moulin was mobilised in April 1918 as part of the age class of 1919, the last class to be mobilised in France. He was assigned to the 2nd Engineer Regiment of Montpellier. At the beginning of September, after an accelerated training, he headed with his regiment to the front in the Vosges, where he was posted in the village of Socourt. His regiment was preparing to go to the front lines as part of the attack planned by Foch for November 13th, but the Armistice was signed on November 11th.
Although Moulin did not fight directly on the front lines, he nevertheless was in a position to observe the horrors of war. He saw its aftermath on the battle fields, the devastation of villages and the state of prisoners of war. He helped to bury the war dead in the area around Metz. While still enlisted after the War, he was posted successively to Seine-et-Oise, Verdun and Chalon-sur-Saône. He worked as a carpenter, a digger and later a telephonist for the 7th and 9th Engineer Regiments. He was de-mobilised in November and, on November 4th, 1919, immediately resumed his post as attache at the prefecture of Hérault. After World War I, Moulin resumed his studies of law. His position as attache allowed him to finance his university studies as well as providing a useful apprenticeship in politics and government. He obtained his law degree in July 1921, He then entered the prefectural administration as chief of staff to the deputy of Savoie in 1922 and then sous-préfet of Albertville from 1925 to 1930. After his proposal of marriage was rejected by Jeanette Auran, Moulin, aged 27, married a 19-year-old professional singer, Marguerite Cerruti, in the town of Betton-Bettonet in September 1926. The marriage did not last long. Cerruti quickly became bored with the marriage, and Moulin responded by offering her further singing lessons in Paris, where she disappeared for two days. Moulin was appointed sous-préfet of Châteaulin, Brittany in 1930, but he also drew political cartoons for the newspaper Le Rire under the pseudonym Romanin. In 1932, Pierre Cot, a Radical Socialist politician, named Moulin his second in command or chef adjoint when he was serving as Foreign Minister under Paul Doumer's presidency. In 1933, Moulin was appointed sous-préfet of Thonon-les-Bains, parallel to his function of head of Cot's cabinet of in the Air Ministry under President Albert Lebrun. In 1936, he was once more named chief of cabinet of Cot's Air Ministry of the Popular Front. In that capacity, Moulin was involved in Cot's efforts to assist the Second Spanish Republic by sending it planes and pilots.
He became France's youngest préfet in the Aveyron département, based in the commune of Rodez, in January 1937. It has been claimed that during the Spanish Civil War, Moulin assisted with the shipment of arms from the Soviet Union to Spain. A more commonly-accepted version of events is that he used his position in the French air ministry to deliver planes to the Spanish Republican forces. In January 1939, Moulin was appointed prefect of the Eure-et-Loir department. He was based in Chartres. After war against Germany was declared, he asked multiple times to be demoted because " his place is not at the rear, at the head of a rural departement". Against the opinion of the Minister of the Interior, he asked to be transferred to the military school of Issy-Les-Moulineaux, near Paris. The minister forced him to return to Chartres, where he had trouble ensuring the safety of the population. When the Germans got close to Chartres, he wrote to his parents, "If the Germans who are able to do anything make me say dishonorable words, you already know, it is not the truth". He was arrested by the Germans on June 17th, 1940, as he refused to sign a false declaration that three Senegalese tirailleurs had committed atrocities, killing civilians in La Taye. In fact, those civilians had been killed by German bombings. Beaten and imprisoned because he refused to comply, Moulin attempted suicide by cutting his throat with a piece of broken glass. That left him with a scar he would often hide with a scarf, which is the image of Jean Moulin remembered today. He was found by a guard and taken to hospital for treatment. Because he was a Radical, he was dismissed by the Vichy regime, led by Marshal Philippe Pétain on November 2nd, 1940, along with all other left-wing préfets. He then began writing his diary, First Battle, in which he relates his resistance against the Nazis in Chartres, which was later published at the Liberation and prefaced by de Gaulle.
Having decided not to collaborate, Moulin left Chartres for Saint-Andiol, Bouches-du-Rhône, to study and join the French Resistance, and he decided to negotiate with Free France. He started to use the name Joseph Jean Mercier and went to Marseille, where he met other resistants, including Henri Frenay and Antoine Sachs. Moulin reached London in September 1941 after travelling through Spain and Portugal, and he was received in October by De Gaulle, who wrote about Moulin, "A great man. Great in every way". Moulin summarised the state of the French Resistance to de Gaulle. Part of the Resistance considered him too ambitious, but de Gaulle had confidence in his network and skills. He gave Moulin the assignment of co-ordinating and unifying the various Resistance groups, a hard mission that would take time and effort to accomplish. On January 1st, 1942, Moulin parachuted into the Alpilles and met with the leaders of the resistance groups, under the codenames Rex and Max. He succeeded to the extent that the first three of these resistance leaders and their groups came together to form the United Resistance Movement ( Mouvements Unis de la Résistance, MUR) in January 1943. The next month, Moulin returned to London, accompanied by Charles Delestraint, who led the new Armée secrète, which grouped the MUR's military wings together. Moulin left London on March 21st, 1943, with orders to form the Conseil national de la Résistance (CNR), a difficult task since the five resistance movements involved, besides the three already in the MUR, wanted to retain their independence. The first meeting of the CNR took place in Paris on May 27th, 1943. Some historians consider Moulin one of the most important figures in the French Resistance because of his actions in unifying and organizing the various resistance groups, which had previously been operating in an independent and uncoordinated manner. He was also instrumental in obtaining the cooperation of the Communist resistance groups, who had been reluctant to accept De Gaulle as their leader, because Moulin was known as a left-wing republican.
On June 21st, 1943, he was arrested at a meeting with fellow Resistance leaders in the home of Frédéric Dugoujon in Caluire-et-Cuire, a suburb of Lyon. He was, along with the other Resistance leaders, sent to Montluc Prison in Lyon in which he was detained until the beginning of July. Tortured daily in Lyon by Klaus Barbie, the head of the Gestapo there, and later more briefly in Paris, Moulin never revealed anything to his captors. According to witnesses, Moulin and his men had their fingernails removed using hot needles as spatulas. In addition, his fingers were placed on the door frames and the doors were closed again and again until his knuckles were broken. They then tightened the handcuffs until they penetrated his skin and broke the bones in his wrists. Because he still refused to speak, they beat him until his face was unrecognizable and he fell into a coma. Afterwards, Barbie ordered Moulin to be placed in an office and to be shown to all members of the Resistance not to collaborate with the Nazis. The last time he was seen alive, he was still in a coma and his head was yellow, swollen and wrapped in bandages, according to the description given by Christian Pineau, fellow prisoner and another member of the Resistance. He is believed to have died near Metz on a train headed for Germany. He was reported to have died on July 8th, 1943 at the age of 44. There has been much research, speculation, judicial scrutiny and media coverage of who betrayed Jean Moulin and the circumstances of his death. Klaus Barbie alleged that suicide was the cause, and Moulin biographer Patrick Marnham supports that explanation. René Hardy was caught and released by the Gestapo, who had followed him to the meeting at the doctor's house. There have been many suppositions in the postwar years that Moulin was Communist. No hard evidence has ever backed up that claim.
Ashes that were presumed to be those of Jean Moulin were buried in Le Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris and later transferred to the Pantheon on December 19th, 1964. France's French education curriculum commemorates Moulin as a symbol of the French resistance and a model of civic virtue, moral rectitude and patriotism. As of 2015, Jean Moulin was the fifth most popular name for a French school, and as of 2016 his is the third most popular French street name of which 98 percent are male. In 1967, the Centre national Jean-Moulin de Bordeaux was created in Bordeaux. Its archives contain documents on the Second World War and the Resistance. The Centre provides pedagogical supports and research material on the involvement of Jean Moulin in the Resistance. In 1993, commemorative French 2, 100 and 500 franc coins were issued, showing a partial image of Moulin against the Croix de Lorraine and using a fedora-and-scarf photograph, which is well recognised in France.

203 years since the birth in 21-12-1818
and 187 years since the wedding 22-12-1836
of HM Queen Amalia of Greece Duchess of Oldenburg
to HM King Otto of Greece
Duchess Amalia Maria Frederica was born on 21 December 1818 in Oldenburg, capital of the Grand Duchy of Oldenburg. She was the first child of Duke Paul Frederick Augustus of Oldenburg (later Grand Duke of Oldenburg) and his first wife, Princess Adelheid of Anhalt-Bernburg-Schaumburg-Hoym. She was less than two years old when her mother died, on 13 September 1820.

On 22 December 1836, Duchess Amalia of Oldenburg married King Otto of Greece in Oldenburg. Born as the second son of King Ludwig I of Bavaria, Prince Otto of Bavaria had been appointed king of the newly created Kingdom of Greece in 1833. Otto visited Germany to find a bride after had been declared to be of legal majority and met Amalia in Marienbad in Bohemia.
Amalia was Lutheran and Otto Catholic, and they were wed in both a Lutheran and Catholic wedding ceremony. It was an understanding, that while they were allowed to keep their religion, any child born to them would be raised in the Orthodox religion of Greece. On 14 February 1837, she arrived in Athens in Greece.
When she arrived in Greece as a queen in 1837, she had an immediate impact on social life and fashion. She realized that her attire ought to emulate that of her new people, and so she created a romantic folksy court dress, which became a national Greek costume still known as the Amalía dress

She laboured actively towards social improvement and the creation of gardens in Athens, and at first won the hearts of the Greeks with her refreshing beauty and the patriotic love she demonstrated for her new home country. She was also the first to introduce the Christmas tree to Greece
During her first years in Greece Athens was a small town and the king and queen resided in a relatively small house

The cause of the childlessness of Otto and Amalia has been the cause of debate. During this time period, infertility was commonly considered the fault of the woman, and Amalia's frequent dancing and riding were blamed for it. She was exposed to various fertility treatments until her 35th birthday. Otto's brothers were given the right to the throne after him, but it was rumoured that queen Amalia wished to have her own brother Elimar of Oldenburg appointed heir instead.
The queen was eventually given more influence. Amalia was given the right to govern as regent in the case of the absence or incapability of the monarch or the heir to the throne. She acted as Regent of Greece in 1850-1851 when Otto was in Germany for health reasons, and a second time in 1861-1862, when Otto visited his family in Bavaria to discuss the succession crisis.
Her political influence was controversial. Her favorites were considered to have influence over her, notably her principal lady-in-waiting Baroness Wilhelmine von Plüskow was widely rumored to influence state affairs, particularly in matters relating to Austria, through both the queen and the king, which exposed her to controversy.
In February 1861, a university student named Aristeidis Dosios (son of politician Konstantinos Dosios) unsuccessfully attempted to assassinate the Queen. He was sentenced to death, but the Queen intervened, and he was pardoned and sentenced to life imprisonment. He was hailed as a hero for his attempt by certain factions, but the attempt also provoked among the people spontaneous feelings of sympathy towards the royal couple.
Just over a year later, an uprising took place in Athens while the royal couple were on a visit to the Peloponnese. The Great Powers, who had supported Otto, urged them not to resist, and Otto's reign came to an end. They left Greece aboard a British warship, with the Greek royal regalia that they had brought with them.
(8th Collage)
It was reported in the press that all their courtiers were left unmolested with the exception of the queen's controversial favorite Wilhelmine von Plüskow, who was exposed to sarcasm from the crowd when she left.
It has been suggested that the King would not have been overthrown had Amalia borne an heir, as succession was also a major unresolved question at the time of uprising. It is also true, however, that the Constitution of 1843 made provision for Otto to be succeeded by his two younger brothers and their descendants
King Otto and Queen Amalia spent the rest of their years in exile, at home in Bavaria. They decided to speak Greek each day between 6 and 8 o'clock to remember their time in Greece.
(9th Collage)
King Otto died in 1867. Queen Amalia survived her husband by almost eight years and died in Bamberg on 20 May 1875. She was buried beside the king at the Theatinerkirche in Munich.
The cause of the royal couple's infertility remained contested even after an autopsy was performed on the queen

On December 22nd 1715 James Francis Stewart, landed in Peterhead from France.
If you read through this you might wonder, with this amount of support, how the '15 uprising failed. It's a pity the rest of Scotland didn't have the enthusiasm as this small corner of North East Scotland.
Unfortunately it was all too late as the uprising had fizzled out after Mar’s inability to press forward after Sherrifmuir, so we shall take a look at where James Stuart came ashore, the loyal town of Peterhead. Much of this is taken directly from testimony taken around the time of the Uprising.
The people of Peterhead were in the main loyal to the Sturts, and were involved in the Jacobite uprisings from beginning to end. The town proudly remembers the numbers involved and the names of some…..
In total the number of Peterhead folk called to arms in defence of the town were 138 men and 10 women – yes Peterhead women prepared to take up arms to fight for the King – Janet Dickie, Margaret Greig, Geills Scott, Margaret Dun, Elspat Mitchell, Janet Cruickshank, Mrs Walker, Elisa Bruce and Widow Bodie and Widow Brown. They were ordered to arm themselves with “ane sufficient gun charged with powder and bullets, and four spare shots besides, and ane sufficient sword” and to meet at the Cross on the appointed day, where they marched and took part in military drills. 7 Spanish cannons, salvaged from the St Michael in 1588 were taken from their position on the Battery at Keith Inch, pulled across the sand bank at the Quinzie (Queenie), and mounted on the Tolbooth Green, looking down Broad Street for the defence of the interior of the town.
On 9th September 1715 the Earl of Mar, appointed Commander-in-Chief by the exiled ‘Pretender’ King James, issued a Proclamation at Braemar signalling the start of the 1715 uprising:
“Now is the time for all good men to show their zeal for His Majesty’s service, whose cause is so deeply concerned, and the relief of our native country from oppression, and a foreign yoke too heavy for us and our posterity to bear; and to endeavour the restoring, not only of our rightful and native king, but also our country to its ancient, free and independent constitution under him whose ancestors have reigned over us for so many generations.”
On 25th October the exiled King James wrote to his supporters in Scotland: “We have not been able to look upon the present condition of our kingdoms, or to consider their future prospect without all the horror and indignation which ought to fill the breast of every Scotsman. We have beheld a foreign family, aliens to our country, distant in blood, and strangers even to our language, ascend to the throne.
“We are come to take our part in all the dangers and difficulties to which any of our subjects from the greatest down to the meanest may be exposed on this important occasion, to relieve our subjects of Scotland from the hardships they groan under and to restore the kingdom to its ancient, free and independent state.
“But we hope for better things. We hope to see our just rights and those of the church and people of Scotland, once more settled in a free and independent Scots Parliament on their ancient foundation.”
On 31st October (Hallowe’en), the Magistrates and Town Council of Peterhead met at the Tolbooth (near the present Tolbooth Wynd), under the direction of the Secretary to the Earl of Erroll (from Slains Castle), George Leith, who was also Major General of Horses under the command of the Earl Marischal, with an order from the Earl of Mar, Chief Commander of King James’s forces in Scotland, which he read – ordering twelve of their number “to be ready mounted on horseback with sword and sufficient firelock, tomorrow precisely at six of the clock, to be witnesses to the said Mr Leith, his requiring the Lord Saltoun (of Fraserburgh) to give all due obedience to the foresaid orders.”
On 1st November (All Saints’ Day), 16 mounted “fenceable men” rode to Fraserburgh to proclaim the King. They were George Leith (Secretary to the Earl of Erroll), Bailie Cruickshank, Bailie Arbuthnot, Thomas Forbes, James Whyte, James Park, John Thomson, George Cruickshank, Alex. Smith (merchant), Robert Smith, John Logan, John Taylor, William Jollie, Alex. Forbes, James Blair & William Ramsay. The band of armed Jacobites rode off north towards Fraserburgh to “require” the Lord Saltoun to obey the orders from the Earl of Mar in support of King James.
About half a mile short of Fraserburgh the Peterhead band met Lord Saltoun and “obliged him to stop until the General’s orders were read to him. ”It was demanded of him “what Party he inclined to join with” and that he “appear at His Majesty’s Royal Standard”. Lord Saltoun answered that “he regarded neither Mr Leith nor his orders more than a footman” and further said that “at a whistle, he could raise a hundred men and cause them to fight all there present.”
Bailie Cruickshank answered that he believed they wouldn’t see them at Fraserburgh, where they immediately went and “proclaimed the King with all the solemnity we could, which we found did oblige the most of the inhabitants of that town.”
A party from the group went in search of arms, which they found in the chamber of the Clerk’s house. They broke open the door of the chamber with “ane big hammer” and found 24 new firelocks, proof marked, and all with A.R. (Anna Regina) on them, all charged with balls and gunpowder. The arms were taken back to Peterhead and handed to George Leith for the General’s use.
Later, a party of Jacobites, led by Irvine of Crimond, captured Lord Saltoun and forced him to go south to join the Jacobite army at Perth. Fraserburgh was then occupied by a Jacobite garrison, which compelled the inhabitants to contribute towards the payment of the soldiers.
On 13th November both the Earl Marischal and James Keith fought at the Battle of Sheriffmuir near Stirling. The Earl Marischal was 22 years old, and his brother 19 at the time of the Battle. James suffered a musket ball wound in his shoulder and spent the night in agony at Castle Drummond.
James Francis Edward Stuart (King James VIII) landed at Peterhead late on the night of 22nd December 1715, suffering from seasickness and fevers after having travelled 7 days (5 or 6 days according to other sources) by sea from Dunkirk in a well-armed vessel laden with a cargo of brandy. He arrived with six other gentlemen, including James Francis Fitzjames Stuart, grandson of King James VII, and Lieutenant Allan Cameron (a son of Lochiel), whom he sent immediately to Perth with the news of their arrival.
James Stuart was 27 years old, and this was the first time he had set foot in Britain since his father was driven into exile in 1688 (when James was six months old). He had lived at the Scots Court at Saint-Germain-en-Laye near Paris under the protection of the French King Louis XIV.
At first the small boat crept along the shore and attempted to enter the River Ugie, presumably to get as near as possible to Inverugie Castle, but “the night was wet and late the tide”, so they instead landed at the old pier of Port Henry Haven. The unexpected visitors were graciously received at the harbour by the Earl Marischal’s representative – the Baron Bailie Thomas Arbuthnot.
According to contemporary accounts they were “all habited like sea-officers, and passed for friends of the Pretender, going to Perth for his Service”. The vessel was despatched back to France with the news of James’s safe arrival.
They stayed the night at what is now Park Lane, near the Longate – at the house of the Baron Bailie’s brother-in-law, Captain James Park, merchant and ship owner. Here James wrote a short letter, dated “Peterhead, December 22nd, 1715” to say “I am, at last, thank God, in my own ancient kingdom as the bearer will tell you with all the particulars of my passage. I am weary and won’t delay a moment the bearer.”
A local song which commemorated the landing of the King at Peterhead was sung for many years after this event.
“King James is land’t at Peterhead, an honour great to us indeed. The night was wet and late the tide, he couldna unto Ugie ride.He slept a night in our good town, upon a good saft bed o’ down.In the morning when he raise, the Marischal’s bailie brushed his claithes. He’s come to set auld Scotland free from cursed Hanover tyranny.”
On the morning of 23rd December King James left by horseback, past Buchanhaven and then west by the old turnpike that skirted the south bank of the Ugie, to Inverugie Castle to visit the widowed Lady Mary Keith, mother of the Earl Marischal.
He passed the next night at Newburgh before carrying on to Aberdeen, accompanied only by a handful of horsemen, in ill health and in disguise. A contemporary account reports “’Tis said the Pretender is very much indisposed since his arrival, which is imputed to the great fatigue he has suffered at sea, and otherwise of late.”
The Earl Marischal and James Keith met King James for the first time at Fetteresso on 27th December, making their way to Dundee on 6th January, James Stuart entering the town with the Earl of Mar riding at his right hand and the Marischal at his left.
On 7th January 1716, they briefly set up court at Scone and arrived at Perth on 8th January.
On 30th January, the King, along with the two Keith brothers, the Earl of Mar and other main supporters, made for Montrose, where the King sailed back to France on 4th February 1716 on the ‘Maria Teresa of St Malo’. James Stuart had been only 43 days on Scottish soil. The Earl of Mar accompanied him back to France and served as his Secretary of State until 1722.
The first picture is a contemporary (if fanciful) illustration which appeared in a news sheet at the time. Clearly drawn by someone who had never visited Peterhead, it shows James Francis Stuart’s arrival the second at Proclamation Pend in the town of Peterhead celebrates arguably one of the most most historic event in the towns history

The Murders of Roxanne Ellis and Michelle Abdill
Roxanne Ellis and Michelle Abdill were an American lesbian couple. Roxanne was divorced and had two children. The couple met in Colorado when Roxanne worked as a nurse and Michelle got a job in the same doctor's office. They started a successful property management business and spent their free time restoring their house. The couple were activists fighting two state ballots Measure 9 which intended to declare homosexuality 'abnormal, wrong, unnatural and peverse,' and Measure 19 intended to restrict library access for materials related to homosexuality. At the time of their deaths, Michelle and Roxanne had been together for 12 years.
In 1990, after putting up with increasing homophobia in Colorado, Michelle and Roxanne moved to Oregon.
On 4th December 1995, Roxanne went to an appointment to show 27-year-old Robert Acremant an apartment, she told her daughter, Lorri, where she was going and arranged to meet her. Police believe the appointment was made earlier that day. Michelle left the office at 5 pm saying she needed to help Roxanne start her car which was not working.
Lorri drove to the apartment complex where her mother was showing the property and saw Roxanne's pick up truck, she reported it pulled away from her when she tried to follow it.
Roxanne and Michelle were not seen again until four days later when their bodies were found in the back of Roxanne's pick up truck after the vehicle was reported by a cable TV worker. Both women had been bound and gagged before being shot in the head,
The murders cause concern in the local gay community. It was discovered Roxanne and Michelle had been threatened before due to their activism work and that the killings may have been hate crimes. A police sketch of the client Roxanne was last seen with was drawn and released.
The widespread media coverage of the murders reachers Robert Acremant's mother who called a tip line and told police she was suspicious her son was involved and that he matched the composite sketch. Police tracked down Robert Acremant and arrested him in a motel room on 13th December 1995. After being arrested, Acremant confessed to the double homicide. He also confessed to another murder, the killing of Scott George in California on 3rd October 1995.
In August 1996, Acremant wrote a letter to his hometown newspaper stating he had intended to rob Roxanne and Michelle and knowing they were lesbians made it easier to kill them. He also wrote that he had killed Scott George, who was bisexual after he made a pass at home.
Acremant died of natural causes in prison on 16th October 2018.

Finally, the update on my health
TW: lots and lots and lots of talk about health, and bad health, in particular, below. So I know I never really updated everyone on What Was (is) Going On With My Health. It’s been a huge mess, and I run out of spoons every day just trying to eat meals at the right times to take my meds. Shortest version possible (believe it or not): at the end of May last year, 2019, pretty much all my joints and extremities swelled up unbelievably. Like I couldn’t put my feet on the floor because they were so swollen it felt like the skin would split open. I had to sit in a chair all day with my feet elevated on a stool and pillows just to keep them from continuing to swell, and I had to sleep with pillows under my feet to keep them from swelling more during the night. I say “sleep” loosely, because I was getting about an hour to two hours of very interrupted sleep every night. The swelling was so bad that just to leave my chair where my feet were elevated, and go sit at the table to eat meals, my feet would swell so bad it was hard for me to walk from the table back to my chair. Then my hands started going numb and tingly, but not in a “my hands are asleep” kind of way, but more an “this is excruciatingly painful but I still can’t feel my hands” kind of way. I couldn’t close my hands into a fist, and I couldn’t open my hands either, they were frozen in a sort of half curled position. There were several weeks where I couldn’t hold a fork or spoon to feed myself. There were months upon months were I couldn’t brush or wash my hair by myself. I spent months with my hands/wrists/feet/ankles packed in ice every 20 minutes to try to control the swelling. I also had this awful brain fog situation where I couldn’t focus on anything. Even if I had been able to hold a book, tablet, or phone (which I couldn’t, because my hands were so bad), I couldn’t read because I had absolutely zero concentration or focus or comprehension. Even watching TV was almost impossible because I would zone out and come back to awareness and so much time had passed I’d have no idea what was going on. I literally spent three or four months just sitting in that chair in pain, staring at the ceiling, crying on and off. So, so much more below the cut.
I could barely attend my niece and nephews baptism. We were there for as long as it took for the actual service to happen, and while I tried to stay for the meal and gifts and such, I was in such excruciating pain--and using a cane to even be able to walk--that we had to leave early. My niece’s 4th birthday was a few weeks later, in late June, and again I was there with a cane and in excruciating pain. I’m my niece’s favourite person and having to tell her Auntie couldn’t get down and play with her, or hold her, was terrible. By the end of June, my PCP had run enough tests to be outside his area of knowledge and referred me out to a rheumatologist. The earliest the one I wanted to see could see me was January. This was the first week of July. So I looked around for whoever could see me first and chose them. The soonest someone could see me was, unfortunately, on my birthday last year, July 15th. So I spent my birthday seeing the rheumatologist, being diagnosed with carpal tunnel, tendinitis, and what he suspected was rheumatoid arthritis. Once I left his office, I spent my birthday getting bloodwork (8 vials, yikes, which continued monthly for the remainder of 2019), and then getting fitted for a set of wrist braces that I would have to sleep in for maybe the rest of my life, and wear during the day when the pain was so bad. The rheumatologist literally said to me “well, none of your labwork confirms this and we don’t really know, but we’re gonna treat you as if you had rheumatoid arthritis”. Although he kept running tests to try to confirm the RA, he didn’t look anywhere else to try and figure out what I actually have. So they started me on medication(s), and referred me to occupational therapy and physical therapy. I was so bad when I started going that my PT consisted of sitting in a chair and (trying) to flex my ankles in different directions, and then a lymph massage to try to reduce swelling. My occupational therapy, when I started, consisted of trying to pick up pieces of sponges and put them in a cup. I was so bad that was actually almost impossible for me. They also referred me out to have a nerve conduction test, where they stuck needles all through my arms and electrified them. It was the worst thing ever, let me tell you. Then I got referred to a hand surgeon (who is lovely, actually) for surgery. He decided to hold off on surgery and see if steroid shots would help (they did, to an extent, and I am so grateful for that). Fast forwards through months and months of testing and bloodwork and physical and occupational therapies and medications, and the swelling had reduced enough that I could stand up or walk to the bathroom or eat dinner without swelling up so bad anymore. Being at PT and OT still meant I came home and had to pack my feet and wrists in ice and elevate to take care of the extra swelling, but it was better. Not good, not right, but better. Fast forward more, still, and it’s December. At that point I could stand long enough to help cook dinner, or even run an errand or two before I was in too much pain and had to sit and elevate again. In mid-March they released me from PT and OT. Not because I was better--I still couldn’t (and can’t, now) bend my wrists at all--but because the prescription had run out. I’d basically used all the allotted amount I had. This ended up being alright in the long run, since aside from one trip to the lab for bloodwork, I haven’t left my house since my last day of OT on March 13th, due to Covid. Turns out having an auto-immune disease and being on immunosuppresants makes you REAL high risk for Covid, and I’m just not playing that game. At the beginning of April, I finally got to see the rheumatologist I WANTED to see all along (via video visit! Didn’t even have to leave my house and be exposed!). She’s awesome and is really set on finding an ACTUAL diagnosis for me and not just saying “we don’t know”. Had 9 vials taken from me in her first round of bloodwork, and then she said it looked like it could be Lupus and did more tests. She’s now pretty certain I DON’T have Lupus OR rheumatoid arthritis. I had an appointment with her at the very end of July (video, again), and it turns out she thinks I have something called sarcoidosis. This is going to require a CT scan, for my lungs and heart, to see if the disease is in them. Evidently with this particular auto-immune disease, your body overreacts and encapsulates what it thinks are dangerous foreign bodies (but really are just part of your own immune system) and creates “granulomas” around them. Basically think of an oyster creating a pearl around an invading body, except in this case instead of pearls, I have lumps of stuff that hurts me. Horrifying to know I have to walk into a hospital at this point in time, of my own free will. Like I said before, aside from one set of bloodwork, I haven’t been exposed or been out where I could be exposed at ALL. All that goes out the window once I walk into a hospital for a CT scan. :\ After the CT scan, depending on the results, there’s other tests I’ll need. Chest x-rays, EKGs, pulmonary function tests, lung biopsies (YIKES) and others. She seems fairly confident that this is the correct diagnosis for me, but wants confirmation and also to see progression of disease. At any rate, she’ll be changing my medication. Which sucks for so many reasons, not the least of which is I just picked up 360 tablets of it that I now won’t be taking. :| Also the fact that now I get to try a new medication and do the “am I having side effects or am I just anxious” song and dance. She’s also talking about needing to put me on steroids which I am REALLY unhappy about. I suppose it’s better to go on steroids than to die, but I’m still really unhappy about it. In other, related news, I’ve developed hypercalcemia. Which means there’s too much calcium in my blood, which can cause a HOST of other problems. So I’ve been put on a no-dairy, low calcium diet. Do you know how many items have calcium in them? Almost everything, that’s what. Also, they fortify all the non-dairy “milk” products with calcium. They all have as much or MORE calcium than dairy milk. It’s been a NIGHTMARE, to the point where I’m actually afraid of food now. I’m obsessively reading labels and doing research online. “How much calcium is in 81 grams of kiwi, after all?”. Nightmare. Dairy was my #1 love and foodgroup, and having to suddenly figure out all new things to eat and ways to cook while simultaneously being in pain and *exhausted* 24/7 because auto-immune is not. fun. at. all. It’s already all my energy every day to help make, eat, and clean up a meal. I literally have to sit in my chair after a meal with my feet elevated to recover. Now having to spend all this energy on a whole new diet plan is a nightmare. Basically this whole thing has been a MESS. It’s been 15 months, I’ve been being treated for the wrong disease for 14 months, the news I’m getting now is worse than the news that flattened my emotional response all those months ago, I still can’t function, and I can’t work. Oh, yeah. I haven’t played an instrument since May 2019. My whole life revolved around my music, and now I can’t even play to make myself feel better, because my hands don’t work. I’ve also been out of work since then, too: my last concert was April 2019. I haven’t made any money since. But I have had co-pays out the wazoo! Which reminds me that they raised the price on two of my meds, because of course they did. Thanks, congress. This has been really, really hard. My anxiety has skyrocketed through this, and my depression isn’t doing much better. Although physically I’m not as bad as I was, I’m nowhere near normal, and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to go back to my normal again, either. The best I’m hoping for at this point is to be able to eat calcium again someday, to not have my organs eaten up by this disease, and to continue existing. It’s been exhausting. It really, really has. That’s not to mention the added stress and anxiety over Covid, and the fact that neither mom nor I can even go to a grocery store because of my high-risk status. We’re averaging getting groceries about once a month right now. It’s super fun now because I have to read the label on EVERYTHING but Aldi doesn’t post their nutrition labels online and!!! That means I have to either guess or not get things! Great! All this to say that I miss being on tumblr. I miss all my friends here. I miss talking to you all and being able to laugh with you and geek out. Things have been really hard for me (and there are multitudes I haven’t included in here; even if my hands would allow that much typing, I’d probably hit a character limit. Just: I miss you all. I love you. I’ve been a wreck, but I think of you all often. <3
