This was like, a crack theory to me when I saw it in a youtube comment section a couple years back.

And the reason I was scrolling through those comments in the first place?

I was, and am, complete and utter nicepants trash.

I figured it was barely above a crackship. I didn't think there was any way we'd get merit to it. I didn't think NCG would have any sort of character development or depth, he's a background hometown npc, I'm probably the only person in the world who's legitimately invested in him. But fuck, I can't help it, he's legitimately and unironically my favorite Undertale/Deltarune character and one of my favorite characters period. I basically spent all of high school mentally using my own interpretation of his personality for everything I would've used a primary oc for if I'd had one at the time.

And I always, always thought it would be so goddamned cute were the little hints about him being into Burgerpants to be canon. But I never actually thought they would get relationship development.

For a main-character ship, this would mean nothing. But to someone as desperate for Nicepants content as I am?? This is EVERYTHING. This confirms they're going to be interacting more in future chapters. This confirms that NCG is quite literally indirectly flirting with Burgy through text on the regular.

This is a big deal.

── some notes on bellerophon, part one! feel free to read these before/after/not at all, if you choose <33

-> although i did strive for accuracy to a certain extent, i am not a historian by any means, nor do i have the time to do in-depth research! so while for the most part, the setting of this story is based on ancient greece, as is the amphoreus we know, i did fill in some of the gaps with information from ancient rome, which i find to be much more accessible (i think in this chapter, there is only one instance of that, but i am sure it will happen again in the future!), as well as things from my own imagination (because it is fantasy after all)

-> all of the prayers to nikador and phainon are from translated hymns to athena and apollo, respectively, which i have cobbled together and tweaked to fit the plot of the story, so if they seem familiar, that would be why :)

-> if phainon feels out of character, i apologize — i think it will be the worst in this part (setting aside my lack-of-playing-amphoreus-ness), as reader is not particularly fond of him, and also, he is a god, so he naturally will be a little different from the very human character we know from the games just for that fact alone! but we will get somewhere close to our phainon at some point, i promise (or maybe it would be better to say i hope)

-> in a similar vein, most of phainon's antics in this chapter are pulled from various myths of zeus (albeit tamer, because it IS still phainon after all, and i just can't see him being on that type of diabolical timing) — if you think he's problematic, well. i mean. he's meant to be vaguely greek-god-inspired. so yes, reader probably does deserve better, and yes, he's kind of dubious in his ethics, especially right now. sorry!! (no i am not)

-> i took the most liberties with the grove and how it operated, as well as the characters of reader's uncle (who bears a familiar face, if not attitude) and the rest of the sages. i didn't feel like figuring out how the grove operates in canon so i decided that i would just do what i felt like and pray you all don't hate me for it

-> my sincerest apologies to socrippe, the npc sage who has been villainized in this chapter, but our bellerophon needed a queen anteia, and he was conveniently located enough to play the part

-> reader's life is meant to mirror bellerophon's, although the 'why' behind her ending up in these situations is entirely different from his — but if you get tired of her constantly getting exiled and suffering and whatnot, take it up with the ancient greeks, not me

-> the cult of nikador itself is not based on any existing religions, but the sacrificial ritual the reader describes is based on a scene in the odyssey, where nestor and his sons are sacrificing...i want to say a bull?? anways, i'm not here to speculate whether human sacrifice was or wasn't practiced back in the day, so just accept that part as fiction and for the plot and let us move on

-> reader's pony is not little ica, but he's also not NOT little ica, so you may do what you wish with that information (jokes aside, i picture the pony as a palomino, so not necessarily little ica colored, but who am i to dictate something so silly?)

-> and finally, i honestly think that i have catfished you all with that masterlist post, and i apologize in advance because i do not think the actual story can live up to your expectations HAHA but i hope you enjoy anyways!

I caved and decided to do this year's Skytober Prompts!

But to be nice to my ADHD brain, I decided to draw only colored sketches with some slight to not-so-slight redesigns! (I know the 25th prompt is "Redesign" which clashes a bit with my decision, BUT I'LL DEAL WITH THAT WHEN WE GET THERE SO SHUSH!!)

Prompt 1 "Supercharger": Spitfire! Because he's my favorite Supercharger! Even gave him a little black heart and white cheek scar (Dark Spitfire's mark)

Prompt 2 "Core": Gill Grunt! Because he's my favorite Skylander of all time! Gave him fish whiskers that catfish have and a battle scar on his shoulder! He probably has more scars around his body.

Prompt 3 "Fire": Hot Dog! CUZ HE'S A GOOD PUPPER!! Design him a bit like a pitbull pup because I love pitbulls! They have such BIG smiles!!

Prompt 4 "Series 2/3/4": Series 3 Spryo! Because I love his big ram horns!! Gave him a little black scar on his chest (Dark Spyro's mark)

Prompt 5 "Trap Team": Engima! Folks that know me know exactly why I picked him! Had a redesign of him already, so I used that design instead! It's a lot easier for me to draw that design than his canon one lol!

Prompt 6 "Water": Punk Shock! Because I think she's underrated and deserves more love from the fandom! Gave cool fishy eyelashes to make her eyes pop out more!

Prompt 7 "Lightcore": Shroom Boom! Because he's the only Lightcore I actually own (i think)! Gave him little freckles cuz their cute!

Prompt 8 "NPC": The Machine Ghost from Giants! Because DAMNIT I WILL NOT LET THEM, THEIR SACRIFICE, AND THEM SAVING OUR ASSES AGAIN DURING THE ROBO KAOS FIGHT BE FORGOTTEN!! Gave him those circuitboard line thingys on their face to make him more "techie" and gave some shine to the gear on their chest to make it pop out more.

Catfish is delighted. She is clapping her hands together and trying to stand up despite being magnetised to her mother's back. This is even better than the rubber chickens.

"Settle," says Ravage, but there's nothing harsh in it.

Catfish doesn't, though--she has somehow demagnetised herself.

Catfish is not a flight frame. She is, however, also running on the ceiling. Meanwhile the disgusting scent of the plastic vomit has the hyper-olfactory Ravage grabbing her midsection and trying extremely hard not to vomit herself.

It doesn't look like she's going to succeed.

"Mama? Mama sick?"

Catfish does not seem to be the least bit perturbed by the fact that her feet are on the ceiling and not the floor. Ravage is shaken by the awful realisation that she's going to think this is just something she does now and try it again when there isn't a weird magic glitch-goat around.

"Have I ever mentioned how much I hate exotic physics?*"

This is when her fuel tank relays realise she has opened her mouth and now she is also being sick.

Catfish makes soothing, worried little noises from the ceiling.

"Yes," Ravage says, chest heaving. No way is she going quadruped because then she'd have to run and there's way too much puke on the floor. "Help me. I need help. I don't know what kind of help I need, but I definitely need help."

starscream is my favorite little scrunky war criminal i love him so much. tfp starscream is my favorite hes like a pathetic bug to me. i did also write a 100k fanfic redeeming him which was kind of a blur tbh. the other versions of him ive seen so far are pretty alright, not my fave - cyberverse was fun and animated is pretty cool

so... so much just happened. the whole extended bit as the soul outside of kris exploring noelles house? all the goddamn reveals that happened there?? like. ok obvious suselle being cute mention. also noelle characterization that isn't in the spamton sweepstakes blogs FUCK YEAHHH. but OH MY GOD. WHATEVER IS GOING ON. like i think the papers and stuff you could see in asgore's basement and the stuff the npc outside was implying is that like asgore is still looking for dess. and then that was further implied with like him doing some undefined thing for carol. but then fucking. dess on the phone???? that was dess on the phone right. and she opened the fountain. so like kris is in on it too. and then at the end when carol stopped kris and YOU was fucking highlighted in red text and the heart pillows and noelle saying her mom liked red heart shaped things like SHE KNOWS RIGHT??????? it feels like all the characters are like. doing this whole big plan and then you as the player/soul or whatever are supposed to be playing part in it but idk what we're doing??? Soundwave comes to the door. "Greetings, would you like to come in?" He's grinning behind his mask; his optics glow gold through his visor. "Soundwave: is glad to see Treble again; and his parent and all of his siblings. Welcome."

Behind him there's a flurry of giggling commotion. It's Catfish! She's a little older than these bitlets are. She's purple, and has catlike ears, and a catlike tail, and she sticks her head out from behind his legs and waves.

Hes particularly good friends with Wallter because of both of their gentleman esque(?) Personalities, and Split because he does love a good joke!! Spud, surprisingly, is a good conversationalist and likes learning about Cory's facts :)!

Most of the hate/fears are explainable, usually Cory doesn't bother Pest which is why their identified as acquaintance, but Cory still has a level of fear from Pest's snappy attitude. Gnarpy thinks Cory is a lower imitation and mockery of a Gnarpian, him being a catfish so likes to terrorize him over the whole 'cats eat fish' bit. He also heavily dislikes Gnarpy for the reason that he's friends with Spud!

MR is explanatory, Bive is not mentally stable enough for this old man, Reddy is Reddy, Unpleasant is . Unpleasant.. also Cory is colorblind (protanopia, red blind heavy type) and finds Unpleasant even more of an eyesore.

Aside from that, the acquaintance and neutral are mostly for npcs he wouldn't talk to much/has no reservations or friendships with :3
