Exploring New Directions in the Pet Care Sector
Introduction
The Pet Care Market is in a constant state of flux, with ongoing trends and innovations reshaping its landscape. In this article, we delve into some of the emerging trends in the pet care market and their impact on industry participants.
Tailored Nutrition
A notable trend in the Pet Care Market is the move towards personalized nutrition. Pet owners are increasingly seeking tailored diet plans and nutritional solutions to meet the specific needs of their pets. Responding to this demand, companies are offering customized pet food formulas and supplements designed to address various health concerns and dietary preferences.
E-commerce Expansion
The surge in e-commerce has transformed the way pet care products are purchased and sold. Online platforms provide convenience and accessibility, enabling pet owners to explore a wide array of products and make purchases from the comfort of their homes. This shift has led to the proliferation of online pet stores and the adoption of subscription-based models for pet food and supplies.
Emphasis on Sustainability
Sustainability has emerged as a significant focus area for both pet care companies and consumers. With increasing worries about environmental conservation and climate change, pet owners are seeking eco-friendly and sustainable pet care products. In response, companies are integrating recycled materials, minimizing packaging waste, and embracing sustainable manufacturing practices.
Technology-Driven Solutions
Technological advancements are fueling innovation in the pet care market. From wearable devices and smart collars to pet monitoring apps and telemedicine services, technology is revolutionizing how pet owners interact with their pets and manage their health and well-being. These tech-driven solutions offer convenience, efficiency, and peace of mind to pet owners, driving their adoption and integration into daily pet care routines.
Growing CBD Market
Another noteworthy trend in the pet care market is the increasing popularity of CBD products for pets. CBD, or cannabidiol, is a non-psychoactive compound derived from the cannabis plant, believed to offer various health benefits for pets, including pain relief, anxiety reduction, and improved mobility. As more research is conducted on the potential benefits of CBD for pets, the market for CBD pet products is expected to expand significantly.
Conclusion
The Pet Care Industry is undergoing rapid evolution, spurred by shifting consumer preferences, technological breakthroughs, and heightened awareness of pet health and wellness. By staying attuned to emerging trends and embracing innovation, companies can position themselves for success in this dynamic and competitive industry.

I feel like if you're using a lot of disposable plastic bags in your day to day life, you've gotta do something sustainable to make up for it. Like using bamboo toilet paper or eco friendly cat litter or something, yknow
Honestly I exaggerate for comedic effect, while I DO routinely use ziplock bags to hold spaghetti I cook maybe once a month and the bag itself is usually for freezer storage. I actually throw out maybe one bag a week? I DO hate washing plates and tupperware and junk but that usually just means I eat sandwiches without a plate.
I agree though that needless waste should be avoided, and I do avoid it- biodegradable bags and recyclables, empty butter tubs used to store leftovers, etc.
This said, though, not applicable necessarily for myself but for a lot of others- I feel that it's importat to remember that there are many people who legitimately NEED things like plastic straws, or catheters, or pre-packaged foods
And the idea that that's a moral failing that individuals need to personally make up for when a single billionaire blows out more CO2 in a long weekend than I will in my whole life on a superjet meet-cute in the Bolivian rainforest between humvee drag races funded by the river-polluting textiles plants they planted in a third world country to avoid EPA laws and give an entire village stillbirths and stomach cancer is an idea that those very same bigwigs have spent a LOT of time and money investing in planting in the public psyche.
Like- Glass bottles are infinitely recyclable, so why are so many drinks in plastic now? Loads of drinks manufacturers used to buy them back and clean them for re-use, so why did they stop? If they chose to make something out of a limited and environmentally irresponsible material, why is it my failing to track down a correct process of disposal for them? What if there are none in my area? Do I lobby for more recycling plants in my area? Do I set aside some of my limited time outside the pain factory of my job- which I have more than one of, thanks to rising costs of things just like that drink I just emptied- to properly dispose of this company's waste FOR them?
Say coca-cola just rolled up to your town and started dumping millions of empty plastic bottles in the street, going, "wow, you should really think about building and staffing a recycling depot, it would be really shameful of you to just put these in the trash." When companies purposefully use materials with limited lifespans- because yes, even plastic can only be reused so many times- and tell you it's your own fault if it harms the environment- that's essentially what they're doing, just with more steps.
Yes, its important to be as environmentally concious as we can in our day to day life, but responsible sustainability is not catholicism. We don't get good boy points from our lord and savior Captain Planet every time the average low-income household gathers together to hold hands and repent for a single-use plastic that allows them to access something they need.
Entire families could eat trees and shit dead lithium batteries for years and still not do as much damage to the planet as an average dye plant or braindead celebrity does in a week just for fun, and I'm mad about it
...this went on longer than intended.
TL/DR: DO recycle and minimize waste, but don't beat yourself up over the little waste you can't avoid, and follow the money.
EDIT: Part 2
#I swear to god if any one of you in the notes calls me terminally online or pretends I'm saying you can just dump bags in the ocean#Yes definitely do your best to live sustainably#But also#You personally are not killing pandas#Unless you are in which case please stop#We put too much money into pandas but let them go in peace#Go do some yoga#Sorry if this is a lot but I have a friend with OCD who has legit panic attacks over stuff like this#Like they have to throw out a ripped plastic grocery bag they've had for six years instead of using it to weave yard furniture or smthn#And they'd go into a spiral about killing the planet#So like#I have strong feelings now

PATCHES STUPID!!!! I finally got an automatic feeder for her and I was like "This is great. I don't have to worry about being home on time to feed her dinner." And I did exactly that like work ran late then run ran late so I got home at like 8:45.
STUPID CAT KNOCKED OVER. THE FEEDER.
Losing scenario all around because the two parts of it detached, so it couldn't actually dispense food and the part containing the food is shaped like a jug so she can't get the food out of it herself. (There's apparently a switch that locks the two pieces together but I missed that.)
Patches manufactures her own punishment because it meant she didn't get fed until 8:45.
#chrissy speaks#im actually bothered mostly because this can happen like. what if i was relying on this to have fed her more than one meal?#im HOPING now that the two parts are locked together maybe she cant knock it over.... hopefully.....#ive also added more food to it to give it more weight#but PATCHES COME ON#patches

One aspect about Littlest Pet Shop that really captivated me as a child when I was a budding furry is the fact that all of the pets were anthropomorphic to the extent that there were no humans and it was just the pets themselves that were running this society for pets, yet at the same time the pets would still just act like pets. It was implied that there were pets who would do things like manufacture food bowls or squeaky toys or scratching posts that would then be sold to other pets, and then those pets would just eat out of their bowl or play with their toys like the kitty or puppy that they were. And this isn't considered weird or anything, despite the fact that they are capable of higher thought all of them take the time to simply just be a kitty or puppy and this is completely normal for them.
This wasn't just about the way we would play with the toys by the way, LPS had schoolastic books and DS games that would show that this is exactly how the LPS world worked. This was canon. There's this series of DS games where the pets all live in their own little town inhabited by only pets and they all own their own houses, yet those houses contain things and furniture that only pet owners would need, and those things are just for the pets to use themselves just like how they use the regular furniture as well. There was a short time where LPS ran an MMO in partnership with EA that was called LPSO, in which there were numerous NPCs who were all cats and dogs and rabbits in the same style that the players were, who all ran their own shops where you could buy things like dog biscuits or feathers on a string which you would need to use to fill up the hunger and happiness meter of the pet you were playing as.
Typically whenever I see the topic of LPS brought up in furry circles, it's in regards to the 2012 cartoon that had Blythe in it where it was this Doctor Dolittle situation where the pets were just treated as only animals and Blythe was the only one who could talk to them, which is a little strange to me considering that what LPS used to be before they added Blythe to it aligns so much more with what furries are all about. Sure the show gave us actual characters that were consistent that we would actually see more than once which is something that earlier LPS media didn't really do, and this let people actually become attached to characters like Zoe and Pepper and Sunil and it's fine if you like that era of LPS because of those characters. And the fact that this show was airing on the same channel that MLP:FiM was as well as during the time when MLP:FiM was at its peak probably has a lot to do with it as well. But I feel like it threw away a big chunk of what made LPS more "furry" and I feel like the discussions we could be having about 2000's-era LPS in regards to it being furry media is really being slept on.
Anyway I really like the idea of being an animal but in like an LPS kind of way. I get to still enjoy all of the good things that come with being sapient while also having the option to simply just be kitty whenever I want. I like having the ability to create things and to learn anything about the world, but sometimes I just wanna be kitty.

1. The Kissimmee River has been brought back to life—and wildlife is thriving
The Kissimmee River in Florida was straightened in the 1960s, causing a sharp decline in wildlife and ecological problems. But in the 1990s, a $1 billion restoration project was initiated to restore the river's natural state.
Today, nearly half of the river has been restored, wetlands have been reestablished and rehydrated, and wildlife has returned, including rare and threatened species. Already the biological impact of the project has become clear. As the wetlands have come back, so have the birds.
2. Plastic wrap made from seaweed withstands heat and is compostable
A cling film made from an invasive seaweed can withstand high temperatures yet is still easily compostable. The material could eventually become a sustainable choice for food packaging.
Scientists started with a brown seaweed called sargassum. Sargassum contains long, chain-like molecules similar to those that make up conventional plastic, which made it a good raw material. The researchers mixed it with some acids and salts to get a solution full of these molecules, then blended in chemicals that thickened it and made it more flexible and pliable.
3. An Eagle Who Adopted a Rock Becomes a Real Dad to Orphaned Eaglet
Murphy, a bald eagle that had been showing fatherly instincts, has been sharing an enclosure with an eaglet that survived a fall from a tree during a storm in Ste. Genevieve. Murphy, his rock gone by then, took his role as foster parent seriously. He soon began responding to the chick’s peeps, and protecting it.
And when, as a test, the keepers placed two plates of food in front of the birds — one containing food cut into pieces that the chick could eat by itself, and another with a whole fish that only Murphy could handle — the older bird tore up the fish and fed it to the eaglet.
4. World's largest battery maker announces major breakthrough in energy density
In one of the most significant battery breakthroughs in recent years, the world’s largest battery manufacturer CATL has announced a new “condensed” battery with 500 Wh/kg which it says will go into mass production this year.
“The launch of condensed batteries will usher in an era of universal electrification of sea, land and air transportation, open up more possibilities of the development of the industry, and promote the achieving of the global carbon neutrality goals at an earlier date,” the company said in a presentation at Auto Shanghai on Thursday.
This could be huge. Electric jets and cargo ships become very possible at this point.

A beloved household cat has made an “astonishing” recovery from a usually fatal illness, thanks to a drug made to treat Covid-19 in humans – and a quick-thinking vet.
Anya, the 7-year-old birman cat, was suffering from feline infectious peritonitis (FIP), a “100% fatal” viral infection caused by feline coronavirus. That was, until Auckland vet Dr Habin Choi intervened, giving Anya an antiviral used to treat Covid-19 called molnupiravir.

Dev Character Profile
Dev, originally labeled E4-17 "Project Slatefire" is a last-wave genetically Altered supersoldier created by Caduceus Technologies before the Fall. He escaped during the revolt of soldiers against their creators and fled. Ashton/E12-19 found him and they stuck together, trying to survive a world that hates them.
Dev is 6'1" and of average build, perhaps a bit on the stocky side. His eyes are a rich gold. He is Altered to resemble a sphynx cat in head and tail, but retains human shape everywhere else. Like a sphynx cat, he is completely hairless. His skin has been reinforced with a fire resistant carbon fiber. It adds a little strength and resistance to shallow wounds but mainly serves as fireproofing and heat tolerance well over that of an unaltered human. His fireproof skin appears grey and lightly metallic, similar to the shine of graphite. Like all Altered, he has enhanced strength, stamina, and senses.
He was originally manufactured to breathe fire, but has lost the ability as of the end of book 1, Bound to Ashes. He bears a sprawling, gnarled scar across the sternum from the incident. These burn scars were later built upon after the events of book 2. He often feels self-conscious about the scars on top of his already unusual appearance and isn't seen shirtless very often.
Dev has always carried himself cautiously. As a young adult, he fears the real world and the unconscious, relentlessly accosted by PTSD and trauma. Despite a life of being hunted, his trusting nature was what brought the Altered together with the human survivors. After the events of book 3, he's had a bit of a "reset", and has shed a significant layer of anxiety he used to wear. This came at a cost: he still, years after the incident that left him with a traumatic brain injury, has lingering brain fog and a somewhat unreliable memory. Some memories have been erased completely. But he remains steady and is often praised for his even keel. (He would say his mind feels pretty rocky most of the time.) He is thoughtful and cautious, a great foil to his more impulsive partners. Dev values his alone time and often feels overwhelmed when the spotlight is on him for too long. He prefers to retreat into nature where he hunts with bow and arrows of his own craft. Dev is a maker. His mind flows comfortably with tools in his hands. He finds accomplishment and fulfillment in helping and protecting their settlement, but his true pride comes from a successful hunt and a clean kill, or perhaps when working on the fire fighting teams, accurately reading a fire and knowing how to quench it. (He is definitely the guy tending the bonfire with intense dedication, well after everyone has gone to bed.) As he's gotten older, he's explored ecology and biology. He often spends his free time foraging, promoting food plants in the neighboring wilderness, and hunting wild boar and other feral pests to help feed not only the voracious appetites of his fellow Altered but the many humans he, against the odds, now calls family. Dev's loyalty outpaces all else--he doesn't think twice to step in and risk it all to defend his found family and romantic partners, Ashton and Sybil. Despite the doubt and social anxiety, Dev understands the key factor that leads to survival: working together as one.
In what little spare time the post-apocalypse allows, Dev has also gotten pretty good at cooking.

heyyyyy!
Not tryin to pressure u but…….
are you okaaaay?! Cuz u we’re working on it and then just stopped everything even posting here for a while!
I hope you’re okay! 🫶
Thank you for asking. I am still working on it, just slowly. School has gotten in the way and made me absolutely exhausted. I wanted to post the new chapter today but didn’t get to finish it.
The fic is by no means cancelled, I am just taking longer to get things done. Expecially since it is October, I tend to get very very busy around this time of year due to a lot of things being planned. I might not post a new chapter till early November because I need to spend any extra time I have to finish my Peri cosplay before Halloween.
HERE IS A TEASER WHILE YOU WAIT:
The fairy braces himself to stand up against the cage walls. He grasp onto the wire, more so than before. Holy Molly Rolly Poly, gravity has hands today. Maybe he could’ve had a better fighting chance if he could have some food.
His struggle was so obvious this time around, there was no hiding it.
“Do all fairies have weak legs or are you just a defect?”
Defect? What? Is he not the “perfectly manufactured collectors toy” for him? Oh, the things he would say to this guy if he didn’t grow up with a filtered mouth.
“When I say to speak, you speak, answer the question.”
“Uhh… You know what? I’m not out of the cage yet, so your rules don’t apply.”
Peri hesitated for a moment at the opening.
He stared down at the table, and then at the floor below it. There was an awkward length parting between the cage base and the table. They didn’t roll it right up against the cage, but it was juuuussst close enough for him to jump on if he pushed himself.
“Here, let me help you out!”
An excited hand reached in.
Slapped away
“No touchie! I can jump out on my own! No need to pick me up like a cat!”
He’s fine, he doesn’t need to be touched or handled anymore than he already has been. This one thing he has the opportunity to do in his own, without force or touch or drugs or shocks. This was his moment.
One two three go!
Face hit metal,
metal of the table, not the floor, a small win, but a performance failure.
He looked up to the audience.
“See? Perfect landing.”
God, His face hurt.
He was out of the cage
with a clear mind.
Boy, did it feel so freeing.
This building pressure from his chest was released.
Released.
Sigh of release- relief.
Oh boy, this is so good! He couldn’t believe they had actually agreed to all this! Oh boy, luck must be on his side today. What else could he get away with?
“Awesome! So uhh… any chance I could have my wand back too?”
“Don’t push it.”
“Fudge cakes. Okay, let’s just get this over with”
The fairy sighed, this time in disappointment.
He shifted to a more comfortable sitting position in the center of the table.
He steadied himself as he the table was moved to the center of the room.
This place felt familiar.
Cake.
He twitched.
They are just going to clean the wound, right? It shouldn’t be too bad.
Same table, same spot.
Bread.
But he wasn’t held down this time, at least not physically.
Keep your cool, Peri, it’s all cool here.

I need $378 in 9 hours and idk what to do
I'm trying to find my car title so I can get a title loan but I can't find it ANYWHERE, which is weird because I keep all of my paperwork in one area - except for this one piece, apparently.
I need to pay my phone bill or I get shut off at midnight tonight! If I can get $400 I can buy a copy of my title online and then get a title loan and pay someone back. We would actually pay you back when Raven gets paid at the end of the month.
(I would ideally like to make some more money than that - Raven's birthday is today, and their party is this weekend, and I'd like to be able to get food and a cake.)
I've been applying to jobs left, right, and center - so I need the phone for that - but no one has been responding. They're all jobs I'm qualified for, but my job history of being unable to hold down a job long-term because of my executive dysfunction is NOT HELPING ME.
If you can help in any way, even just a few bucks, my Cashapp, PayPal, Ko-Fi, Chime? All $NovasPrime. Let me know if you need to be paid back and I will do so as soon as we get paid.
÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷
I'm also down to barter my skills for money! I can do 3D rendering for manufacture, and I have a 3D printer! Raven is also a very talented miniature painter, so if you need wargaming minis or D&D figurines designed, printed, painted, and shipped? Cat-Thulu Productions has your back!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I can also help polish a resume, I can write collegiate papers, I can tutor in English language (especially for writing for college), and I am pretty good at tutoring in sociology, machine/construction math, any kind of stagecraft stuff (behind the scenes stuff like wardrobe and set building - I am not an actor, although I can read scenes OK with you if you need practice).
I am a former journalist and can help format and write press releases, do page layout for print or online publishing (PDF format unless otherwise specified), and minor graphic design.
I CAN do metal stuffs, like writing code for CNC machines, but I don't have access to a full machine to test it out.
I have the stuff to make proxies for card games!
I want to earn money, but I can't find an employer who can accommodate my executive dysfunction, which is, frankly, understandable. So instead, get yourself a cool shiny, or help that you need!
So please, if you can help by commissioning me, or Raven, or both of us, please do! If you can help until we can get a title loan, let me know!
If not, please consider signal boosting. I can't lose my phone right now.
HAPPY MEAL
BEELZEBUB.
+ warnings: dark themes, erotic hues, strong language (added are 2 cups of low-carb fluff + 1 tbsp. of light, ‘diet’ angst)
+ female mc, feminine pronouns.
At the time, it sort of didn’t feel lonely anymore, that atrociously endless thing. Existence.
Damn, though, the girl didn’t know how to handle a knife or spoon properly; she wouldn’t manage to prepare something edible even if to save her own ass. Then again, neither could he, probably.
Who cares if the stuff he makes tastes great? The ‘aftertaste’ of its repercussions is nothing short of unpleasant. Fucking blasphemous, actually—for each and every bite brings about a bountiful harvest of unwelcome side effects. Like a new medication manufactured to treat not even one ailment would do.
Did he perhaps spike everything? Just how many of them did he put in there exactly, the drugs?
Yet, absurd as her dealings with recipes were, he thought she was cute as fuck. She was so adorable and so corrupt. The perfect, most harmonious mixture.
Of course, as gluttony in the flesh and an insatiable patron of cuisine—with the foods, creatures and all—he ought to have found that inability of hers offensive, but it’s never too late to learn something new until it’s too late, isn’t it?
With her, that ‘what in “Hell” is a kitchen?’ mode had its charms. She was still young, too, and she satisfied him in other ways. Dreamy, dirty ways.
For once, however, the time they spent together was, well, normal.
Normal enough, that is.
He never did deny that he couldn’t keep his hands off of her even in the kitchen, did he? And he never did say that his hands didn’t go where they weren’t supposed to ‘just yet’ over and over and over and over again, right?
Whatever.
Old habits die hard.
They do, but he also soon remembered something: a little big wish he had put away in his hungry heart, then felt boiling over in his wandering brain every now and then.
He had always wished for a few hours of time. Being buried in a blanket of peace, painted with sunshine...that felt like it would be so nice.
Would she understand that when she had more fun, base things in mind?
Maybe he should once again put that wish away, postpone it to yet another other day. If old habits die hard, then how could birth traits themselves possibly melt off, or so much as sway?
Wasn’t he, after all, the king of gluttony?
He was voracious.
And before him was a pretty woman.
Together they were making a meal so unsatisfactory.
What’s the point of resisting these thoughts, fighting who he is, denying himself what he wants?
Fuck that.
Better just indulge, indulge, indulge, get so drunk on sin until it sloshes under his heated skin.
Everyone has their strong points; supposedly, it’s something known worldwide—like how between the sheets she drove him crazy, but in the kitchen she was merely a confused lady. Tragically clueless. Heartbreakingly unknowledgeable. Lost like a cat with no whiskers.
That is why she watched him do almost everything.
He liked how her glittering eyes were glued to him, like ants pressing needy kisses to a sugar cube.
He loved that she was thinking about sinful things—because of him, no less—so shamelessly.
Oily colours and powdery spices smeared his apron, but did she truly see them at all? No, she didn’t. And even if she did, would she have given a shit? No, she wouldn’t.
Because her eyes were on him.
He could have been stirring the soup and she would have been sucking in the hard contours of his bronze arm and the way his glistening muscles distorted those black tattoos.
In her freaky mind, musings about her tongue pressing against any part of his body were wildly spinning. How pretty the sparkle of her saliva on his body would be!
To her, the taste of his silky skin would bring her pleasure greater than that of an angel at thoughts of God and slaughter.
He was mouth-watering; all at once salt, acid and sugar.
Such was the truth—so much so that as he rummaged through the pantry, he almost heard her thinking, ‘kiss, lick, fuck.’
She was so dizzy with that vicious hunger chewing on her intestines and nibbling on her heart. She was so dizzy with it that thoughts of him nearly distracted her from a particular slice of mischief.
You see, he had in mind quite the...exotic ingredients. Said he wanted to see how they’d mix together and with food itself. Told her desire would ‘milk’ most of them out of her.
She thought it was awfully strange and disgustingly sexy, but why not do it another time? Wasn’t a lot of fun awaiting their tingling bodies after all this mess, anyway?
They both of them didn’t sit at the table for dinner. Why do that when they could eat straight from the scalding pot, their legs dangling down the cool counter?
His feet nearly touched the floor. She, on the other hand, was a much shorter, much smaller, much more breakable precious thing.
He was...happy.
It was sweet, having someone to eat with. Even if that wasn’t a big, proper meal.
She was an eccentric human who could only take so much, but he was rubbing off on her.
How else could one explain why the food merely filled a tiny hole in her stomach?
How else could one make sense of the way guts were aching for something else?
She was still starving.
He could taste it pouring out of her pores, the gluttony. It was hot, raging and uncontrollable. It was an irresistible, delicious kind of heat.
He was still happy.
Seasons change, and so do reasons.
He was so happy his stomach wouldn’t have been able to digest anything else for a while.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is a lie.
That, ladies and gentlemen, is what some cliché, half-assed romance novel would have said.
This is the dark world.
The truth is otherwise.
He is the devil king of gluttony.
He liked her company.
But how could a small pot licked clean with a certain special someone have ever made his appetite shut the fuck up for a minute or two?
Think again, will you?
+notes: sort of on the weirder, unappetising or slightly disgusting side, I suppose.
