NY Castle Doctrine law says that deadly force maybe used when a person believes an intruder may kill, rape, rob, kidnap, or burglarize them.

Make no mistake: this is NOT an unintended consequence.

It was the PURPOSE of the law.

That sheriff is right; there was clearly no danger to the homeowner. But these laws are written so that prosecutors must prove the killer should not have been afraid. Perhaps they can meet that bar, but it’s an extremely high one. These laws were written to protect cowards and psychopaths, and the murder rate has increased everywhere they have passed.

I find that whole refusal to engage with the violence in your politics (all politics is violence the only difference is how honest you are about it) childish as fuck. “I want you to disappear and never come back” “me and the other (property owners) will form a “get that guy” pact” “I hope you die” like even when what you’re saying is that you want people who tag your house dead you can’t actually say that out loud because Libertarian politics is built on a refusal to reckon with violence.

What is castle doctrine like in omegaverse? Does a society that is presumably more animalistic in terms of being territorial of the “den” have a higher tolerance for killing people who break into your house? Maybe this is just me being too American but I feel like if you’re an omega in heat alone and someone breaks into your house you should probably be allowed to shoot them a little bit
