Alright screw it, full list of Kirby crossover Overwatch skin ideas:
Kirby Echo. Hard to explain how it looks with words but it works in my head.
King Dedede Reinhardt. In my heart this one is the Mythic skin of this bunch with variants for unmasked, the classic Masked Dedede mask, and the Forgo Dedede mask.
Meta Knight Genji. Not much explaining needed I think.
Bandana Waddle Dee Tracer. I didn't have any better ideas for either end of this pairing, but like. again it works in my head.
Whispy Woods Bastion. I swapped my ideas for Orisa and Bastion back and forth, but figured Ganymede dressed as the small Kirby bird of your choice would make more sense. Plus, Orisa already has a nature-themed skin.
Paint Roller Lucio. I think this is a fan favorite obscure miniboss, plus it'd be a fun different look for a Lucio skin.
Nightmare Sigma. With every idea for group skins I keep casting Sigma as the ultimate big bad, but like... c'mon it works too well here. The Hyperspheres are the ball form.
Rick Wrecking Ball. hamter.
Dark Matter Swordsman Soldier 76. mouthful, yikes. I actually had a list of notes I decided to check partway through making this post, and I forgot about this one. I think the idea was the visor? Could be cool I think.
Marx Junkrat. funny little guy who chucks exploding balls. Could do a fun detail with his prosthetics looking like pieces of Nova.
Heavy Lobster Orisa. Favorite obscure Kirby boss that never shows up in a series full of recurring bosses. Definitely a skin nobody besides me consciously wants.
Mr. Frosty/Chef Kawasaki Roadhog. Hard to pick between these two iconic midbosses, but I very much only see either design working as like, an edgy slasher villain parody of the original when on Roadhog.
Adeline Brigitte. Flail is the paintbrush. That's all the justification I need to say.
Ripple Queen Mei. Definitely a more obscure character to prioritize but the idea won't leave my brain, I think it'd look too cute to pass up. Also yes: Snowball is Ribbon.
Dark Meta Knight Reaper. ow the edge.
Daroach Cassidy. Hat. Though would also consider Ashe, if only just for the sake of Storro B.O.B.
Drawcia Moira. I mean Moira throws around blobs and sprays of bright colors around, it works. Plus I think this'd be a fun look for her that's not too out of place stylistically.
Necrodeus Doomfist. Felt bad not having a Mass Attack reference of any kind for some reason (even though I don't have an Epic Yarn character here and that's my favorite spinoff). This was the best pairing of "cool bad guy" matching that I had left, but I mean I think it'd look cool.
Magolor Zenyatta. Silly floating man with his orbs and mysterious past.
Landia Pharah. Another niche one but it looks sick in my head. Was also considering giving her Dyna Blade.
Taranza Lifeweaver. Okay explaining this one: sad pretty boy with trauma and a flower motif. Plus they both use grabby magic to yoink people. Works with how average Rein players feel about Life Grip.
Queen Sectonia Symmetra. I wanted to have Sectonia somewhere and by process of elimination this is the idea I like the best. Not explicitly meant for a SymWeaver thing but hey that works too. the inverse height dynamic between the pairings feels wrong though...
Susie D.va. This is another obvious one, little pink bitches with big mechs, little pew pews, trauma, and room for me to project onto.
Haltmann Torbjorn. Another one from my notes I completely forgot about. But like. Yeah no it still checks out.
Francisca Junker Queen. A guilty pleasure choice aside from the shared blue hair and axes.
Flamberge Illari. Listen the brain blast I had when I realized "burny powers and also her gun looks like a weird sword." Plus they both scream an above average amount.
Zan Partizanne Widowmaker. It'd be a crime if she wasn't one of the most canonically french Kirby characters.
Hyness/Void Termina Ramattra. I don't know the exact logistics of how this works but in the abstract concept in my head this looks awesome.
Gorimondo Winston. monke.
Yeah that's the list! Everybody besides Mercy, Hanzo, Zarya, Ana, Sombra, Ashe, Baptiste, Sojourn, and Kiriko got one. Also no Mauga... or Venture... or Space Ranger... look this list was from a while ago, plus none of these are even out yet so sue me. (actually had a few ideas for Mercy, but none of them felt really satisfying. Favorite idea for her was using Forgotten Land's final boss mostly because of the silhouette being... more similar than you'd think at first.) Also I got at least part of each of the dream friends besides Gooey, but like. Literally what Overwatch character reminds anyone in any way of Gooey. Be honest with me here.

Storybook Squares (February 1969?)
Storybook Squares was the name given to a special series of episodes of the NBC game show Hollywood Squares. The series featured celebrities dressed up as famous people and characters from history and various forms of media.
Peter Marshall served as host of these episodes. The panelists were introduced by "The Guardian of the Gate", who announced their characters' presence by reading their names from a scroll. The Guardian was played by regular Hollywood Squares announcer Kenny Williams, and the character was similar to his "Town Crier" character from Video Village.
The series ran on NBC on Saturday mornings from January 4 to April 19, 1969, with repeats airing until August 30. The concept was revived during the 1976-77 season as a series of special theme weeks on the daytime Hollywood Squares.
Format On the original edition of Storybook Squares, the game was played in the same manner as the regular game, with celebrities in the squares dressed as storybook and nursery rhyme characters. Two children competed, always boy vs. girl with the boy as X and the girl as Circle. They played as many games as time permitted, with a prize being awarded for each win. No money was awarded; a Secret Square game for the first two games was played, with the setup identical to the 1968 primetime game and first two years of the syndicated version—that is, if the first game's Secret Square was not won, the package was combined with that of the second game, and then after that it was not won.
Panelists The only panelist from the adult show who played as he normally would was Cliff Arquette, who carried his "Charley Weaver" persona over to Storybook Squares. The other panelists played characters from fairy tales and books, historical figures, or in some cases the characters they played on television.
Unlike the parent series, on Storybook Squares each panelist/character was given an elaborate introduction as they entered the set and took their place on the board, allowing for a brief comic interaction with host Marshall as they did so. Some of the celebrities who appeared were:
* Marty Allen as Tarzan and Cupid * Jim Backus as Mr. Magoo (animated character for whom he provided the voice) and Thurston Howell III (his character from Gilligan's Island) * Ted Cassidy as Tarzan * Charo as Isabella * Wally Cox as Paul Revere and Davy Crockett * Bob Crane as Colonel Hogan (his role on Hogan's Heroes) * Abby Dalton as Little Miss Muffet * Barbara Eden as Jeannie (her role on I Dream of Jeannie) * Nanette Fabray as The Old Woman Who Lived in the Shoe * Stu Gilliam as Merlin * Arte Johnson as Wolfgang the Nazi from Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In, referred to herein as the "'Very Interesting' Soldier" * Paul Lynde as Frankenstein's monster and the Evil Queen from Snow White * Paul Winchell as Romeo and Dr. Jekyll (with Tessie Mahoney- Jerry Mahoney in a blond wig- as Juliet and Jerry Mahoney as Mr. Hyde) * Carolyn Jones as Morticia Addams (her role on The Addams Family) * Rose Marie as Pocahontas and Annie Oakley * Roy Rogers and Dale Evans * Soupy Sales as Henry VIII and Thomas Edison * William Shatner as James T. Kirk (his character from Star Trek) * Leslie Uggams as Snow White
1976-77 return When the daytime series brought back Storybook Squares, its format was changed slightly. Instead of a two-player match featuring boys playing girls, the matches used a team format with the boys playing with their fathers and grandfathers and the girls with their mothers and grandmothers.
The children played the first game of the match, with the parents playing the second and the grandparents each subsequent game as time permitted. $300 was awarded for each game won, with $50 awarded per square if time was called during a game.
The team with the most money at the end of the game won a large prize, such as a car or exotic vacation.
* Marty Allen as Tarzan * Milton Berle as Old Mother Hubbard * Valerie Bertinelli as Little Miss Muffet * Big Bird (Muppet played by Caroll Spinney) * Hal Smith as Mother Goose * Paul Lynde as Attila the Hun, Frankenstein's monster, The Wicked Witch, Davy Crockett, and Paul Bunyan * William Shatner as Captain Kirk * Elke Sommer as Guinevere * Susan Seaforth Hayes as Eve and Cleopatra * Bill Hayes as Adam and Caesar * Connie Stevens as The Queen of Hearts * Karen Valentine as Mona Lisa * Anson Williams as Simple Simon * Florence Henderson as Belle Starr * Doc Severinsen (with his trumpet) as The Pied Piper and Gabriel * George Gobel as Henry VIII * Vincent Price as Captain Hook * Pat Harrington (Jr.) as Leonardo da Vinci * Rip Taylor as General Custer * Joan Rivers as The Old Woman Who Lived in the Shoe * Bonnie Franklin as Goldilocks and Peter Pan * John Byner as Long John Silver * Roddy McDowall as Sherlock Holmes and Pinocchio * Arte Johnson as Beethoven * Jo Ann Worley as Martha Washington * Soupy Sales as Thomas Edison * Rich Little as Noah * Julie McWhirter(-Dees) as Glinda the Good Witch (though referred to as "the Good Fairy") and Dorothy Gale * Charo as Lady Godiva (she wore a sparkly flesh-toned bodysuit rather than appear actually nude)

Have a name survey because these are always fun.
Boys
A Andrew vs. Aaron Alan vs. Alexander Aiden vs. Adam B Brennan vs. Brayden: Both of these are awful but I guess I gotta pick. Brandon vs. Braxton Bentley vs. Brimley C Cayden vs. Camden: Again, both equally cringey for me. Cole vs. Cameron Cade vs. Chandler: Chandler is a cute name for a girl, but I have a bias for Chandler Bing too hahaha. D Denver vs. Dallas Deklan vs. Dylan: I prefer the spelling Declan, though. Also, I technically like Dylan just a little bit more and would have picked it, but I like it for a girl. My sister had a classmate named Dylan and it sounded really good on her. David vs. Dennis E Ethan vs. Ezra Eitan vs. Elijah Emmanuel vs. Eden: Again, I prefer the name Eden for girls.
F Fabio vs. Ferdinand: I very hesitatingly picked Fabio hence the italics, but I very much dislike both. This is also what I’ll be doing for the rest of the names on here. Finnegan vs. Finley Fernando vs. Frankie: For the millionth time, Frankie is cute for a girl (this is where y’all really see that I prefer daughters more HAHAHA), and this is also because there’s a local singer named Frankie that I really admire.  G Gavin vs. Gus Gumby vs. Gerrick George vs. Grant H Harper vs. Harley Hayden vs. Henry Harlow vs. Hank I Ian vs. Ivan Indigo vs. Iris: Can I just say these are both better off as girl names? Indiana vs. Iris: And these, too?
J John vs. Jericho Jacob vs. Jameson Jasper vs. Jedidiah K Kayden vs. Koa Kent vs. Kyle Kevin vs. Konner: I prefer the spelling Connor, though. L Lars vs. Liam Levi vs. Lance Lester vs. Lorenzo M Michael vs. Matthew Maverick vs. Mason Madison vs. Micah N Nolan vs. Nathan Niko vs. Nathaniel Nicholas vs. Nate: I honestly like both. I can go with naming a son Nicholas then giving them Nate as a nickname. O Ocean vs. Oscar: I hate nature names and Oscar screams old-guy-name to me. Sorry to all the Oscars :( Orville vs. Otis Otto vs. October P Patrick vs. Percy Preston vs. Paisley Parker vs. Passion Q Quincy vs. Quinn Quada vs. Quinten Quailen vs Quidditch R Raven vs. Riley Rowan vs. Rod Ray vs. Roy: I have a bit of a sentimental attachment to Roy cos it’s an occasional nickname Gab’s dad uses. S Skylar vs. Scott: Only because a high school classmate named her kid Schuyler and that baby is seriously adorable, bubbly, and well-behaved. Storm vs. Steven Sorin vs. Solomon T Trevor vs. Travis Todd vs. Taylor Taytum vs. Tanner U Ulysses vs. Uman Umbo vs. Uno Utah vs. Usher: I dislike most geographic names, but I’d rather I name my baby Utah then have them be sang sex-themed songs by Usher by meaner kids throughout their childhood lmao.   V Vance vs. Vincent Vern vs. Vayde Vernon vs. Vayden W Walter vs. Wyatt Wade vs. Winter Wallace vs. Whisper X Xenon vs. Xayden: I really wanted to pick one name for each question, but being stuck between a chemical element and a name ending in -den is an easy no to both for me. Xayler vs. Xavier Xandon vs. Xennan Y Yvonne vs. Yonder: These names are getting more awful now that we’re ending dude, lmao. Yuletide vs. Yasser Yancy vs. Yancer Z Zeeland vs. Zayden Zion vs. Zenon Zander vs. Zenner
Girls
A Acacia vs. Alexa Aurora vs. Annalise Avonna vs. Alessandra B Brogan vs. Brooklyn Bianca vs. Brigitta Bailey vs. Brynn C Carlotta vs. Christine Cheyenne vs. Cescily Cecilia vs. Cassidy D Diedra (pronounced Dee-ay-druh) vs. Delilah: But I prefer the spelling Deirdre. Devia vs. Daytona Dakota vs. Darcy E Evonna vs. Eliana Emerald vs. Evangeline Eden vs. Eliza F Felicity vs. Fiona Faith vs. Faye: Both have always been on my blacklist for girl’s names, sorry lol. Flavia (pronoucned Flah-wee-uh) vs. Flora G Grace vs. Gretchen Genesis vs. Galaxy: Please don’t make these names happen. Gabriella vs. Greta: I love both names and have always liked the name Greta because of Greta Garbo, but I’m obviously biased towards my girlfriend so Gabriela/Gabriella it is. H Harper vs. Hope Holly vs. Hailee Harmony vs. Harvest: Again, both cringe material but I guess Harmony makes me cringe juuuuuuust a little less. I Imogene vs. Ivy Isabella vs. Iris Irene vs. Ingrid J Jessica vs. Jacinda Jade vs. Juniper: Juniper would be cute if a baby can stay a baby forever lmao, but I’m generally not a fan. Joanna vs. Joy: But I like the spelling Johanna more. K Kaleidoscope (Kallie for short) vs. Kaylee: Can I just pick the nickname? I hate the other two options :(( Kennedy vs. Kendall: I’d pick both, but thinking as a future mom, I wouldn’t want my daughter to be mercilessly teased for being given a name that’s usually understood to be more masculine in nature. I know we’re all about breaking stereotypes and all, but y’all – realistically, kids can be pretty fucking cruel. Katelyn vs. Katrina L Lacey vs. Linsey Lynnea (proncounced Lynn-ay-uh) vs. Liberty Lara vs. Lola M Morgan vs. Madison Mackenzie vs. Miranda Marissa vs. Monica N Nora vs. Natalie Nevaeh (pronounced Nev-ay-uh) vs. Nicole Niki vs. Noelle O Ophelia vs. Ocean: Only picking Ophelia because I’m generally not a fan of nature names, but there are a lot more better options if I wanted to name my kid after Shakespeare plays, like Beatrice or Emilia. Olivia vs. Onna Opal vs. October: Was never a fan of gemstone names, and there are much better month names than October. P Passion vs. Primrose: I feel the same way for Primrose as I do with Juniper. Mostly cute with babies, but is less cuter on grown-up girls. Penelope vs. Pixie Pandora vs. Palace Q Quintessa vs. Quincy Quaila vs. Quilala (Kwi--lah-lah) Queen vs. Quiencia (Kwee-ence-ee-uh) R Reyna vs. Riley Rosanna vs. Rosemary Rhonda vs. Rodica (Roe-dee-kuh) S Skylar vs. Skye Serena vs. Simone Shailey vs. Sienna T Tessa vs. Taylor Tia vs. Tiana Taytum vs. Trixie: Tatum would be a better spelling. U Una vs. Uta Ulyssia (You-liss-ee-uh) vs. Umba Ula vs. Ursula: Only because it can be a Friends reference lol. V Violet vs. Vylette Veronica vs. Victoria Valencia vs. Valerie W Wynona vs. Whitney: Winona > Wynona, but still. Wynter vs. Whisper Willow vs. Wanda X Xaila vs. Xara Xana vs. Xenon Xavier vs. Xena Y Yasmin vs. Yvonne Yvette vs Yolanda Yori vs. Yaya Z Zayara vs. Zion Zayana vs. Zoey Zen vs. Zara
Final questions!
Your name (first and middle): Robyn Isabelle.Do you like it?I hated the name Robyn throughout my childhood because I always got teased about it. When I got to college and everyone just kinda matured and told me they liked the way my name flowed, I ended up warming up to and loving it.What your parents almost named you:I was almost named Ariel after the Disney princess, and I know my parents were also thinking of naming me Katrina/Katherine/Kaitlyn.Your favorite girl's name (first and middle):Olivia. I don’t have a pick for middle name yet.List five unique names of girls you have met:Shauna, Shontrice, Unila, Ciamae, Rheezan.List five girl's names you don't like:I mostly dislike in-your-face weather/nature names like Winter, Snow, Amethyst, Cloud, Gaia, or Daffodill. They’d probably go with a Spanish/Hispanic name, seeing as they went with Joaquin for my brother but were also thinking of naming him Diego.

Woolworths “Fresh in our Minds” social media fail
Written by Mia Sophia Hodson.
Student number: n9456686
The use of social media is becoming more and more prevalent in the retail industry, with many corporations having their own social media accounts. David Wicks from “Social Media Today” says that companies that aren’t active on social media “risk missing out on numerous marketing opportunities (2015). Many companies successfully use social media to their advantage, creating meaningful campaigns for their own financial and commercial gain. Companies also use social media campaigns to raise awareness about issues and campaign for organisations they care about. Unfortunately for some, however, social media campaigns have been terribly embarrassing from start to finish.
Using social media as a marketing tool is not as simple as it seems, with the opportunity for everything that is said to be seen by thousands of people instantaneously shared and never really deleted. When a company makes a mistake with social media, it can have a devastating impact on the brand’s image.
Woolworths chose Facebook as their platform as studies show that 79% of adults that use the internet are on Facebook (Pew Research Centre, 2016). Of those 79%, at least 84% of women between the ages of 18 and 49 use Facebook (Pew Research Centre, 2016). This is a great target market for supermarket advertising, as between those ages, women are likely to have children and need to be doing groceries.
In April 2015, Woolworths began an ANZAC day campaign, which featured a picture of a former soldier with the Woolworths logo and the words “Fresh in our Memories”, on top (La Canna, 2015). This slogan is a play on words of Woolworth’s slogan commonly used in advertisements for the company “the fresh food people”. They created a website where people could share pictures and stories of people they knew that had been affected by war. The aim was to engage users by giving them a way to create new Facebook cover and profile pictures to commemorate ANZAC day. The pictures were then branded with the Woolworths logo. People were urged to use the pictures generated from the website as their profile pictures and cover photos on Facebook and to share the website for their friends.
This campaign created a lot of social media backlash, criticism and was eventually pulled down. For the purpose of this report, it was a social media “fail” for many reasons that will be discussed.
Firstly, using the word ANZAC is forbidden under the “protection of the word ‘Ancac’ act 1920” (Department of Veteran Affairs, n.d). This is the first place where Woolworths failed. By using a protected word, they are breaking the law and putting the company at risk of large fines of up to $51,000 (Department of Veteran Affairs, n.d). The veteran’s Affairs Minister, Michael Ronaldson told the 702 ABC Sydney that “it was not appropriate, they did not have permission and… I’ve got to authorize the use of the word Anzac” (2015).
ANZAC day and what it commemorates is a very serious topic that has had large impacts on many families who have lost loved ones to wars. It is a holiday not to be celebrated, but to be remembered. Many people were disgusted at Woolworths’ cheap choice to take this event and try to gain publicity from it. Many people took to social media to voice their concerns about it. Dee Madigan, a worker for Queensland communication agency, Campaign Edge said “what’s surprising is that someone ever thought it was a good idea. There’s no way to stick your logo on a photo of an old digger and for it to be in any way beneficial for your company” (cited in Chung, 2015). Hearing an industry expert saying that proves that Woolworth’s campaign was definitely a fail by many standards.
Tumblr media
As social media can be viewed by anyone, word spreads quickly and people’s complaints were heard by masses of people.
Social media campaigns such as this one are risky when they involve user-generated content. Because of the nature of social media’s spreadability, when people caught on to Woolworth’s campaign, it wasn’t long before many people started making their own “meme” versions of the campaign images. The images below are examples of these. One shows the Woolworths chief marketing officer Tony Phillips in the image. Other ways people mocked the campaign was by using pictures of Tony Abbott and Hitler (Canning, 2016). This would have had an extremely negative impact on the company’s image. It also proves this campaign is a fail because social media users are making a joke out of their campaign.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It is quite obvious that the marketing and advertising people for Woolworths forgot about the role that audiences play today in social media. No longer are consumers only consuming media. There has been a shift in the way the media works and people are now commonly being known as produsers, both producing and using (Cassidy, 2017). Woolworths’ campaign designers clearly did not understand this theory behind participatory culture.
Tumblr media
Woolworths stated that their intention was not to upset anyone and that their campaign was not a marketing strategy. They insisted that they created the website “to give our staff and customers a place to put their stories to mark the Centenary of ANZAC” (Woolworths, 2015). If I had been in charge of social media strategy for Woolworths, I would have avoided the situation by not putting the logo on the images. I think the idea for a place to commemorate people on the centenary of ANZAC day was a good idea, but Woolworths took it too far by branding the images. I also think the slogan “fresh in our memories” is taking the Woolworths branding too far. I would have created the website but made it entirely about commemorating the soldiers that served our country, and not make the main feature about Woolworths. If I were to be making a campaign for ANZAC day, I would also be sure to get the required rights to use the word “ANZAC”.
Woolworths devised a social media marketing campaign with the intent to provide a platform for commemorating the soldiers who served their country while slyly creating brand association and advertising through the placement of their brand logo and slogan. They did not gain the required permission to use the word “ANZAC”. They did not understand the theory of the participatory culture of social media and the ability to spread memes and they tried to gain commercial gain through the creation of their website and social media campaign. These elements all prove Woolworths’ “Fresh in our Memories” campaign to be a social media fail.
