(Narrator) Claire would be remiss to not celebrate the birth of her first child, the one who made her a mother etc etc. She made sure to head to Simbook to commemorate the day with a cute array of pictures, even going as far as to dig up old family photos where he was the only child to really ramp up the nostalgia (Valentina joined the family 2 years later so there were a few).

I think this is the first family photo I took for Claire and her family, back then I had zero concept of time and the passage of it so this is some time in autumn in the game. If adjusted to my new counting method, then Carter should be between 1 and 2 years old, as Valentina was born when he was 2 years old.

This is Carter and Madelynn on their wedding day, in my current system they will celebrate their 9th wedding anniversary some time between summer and autumn (I really couldn't tell you which month as I've forgotten myself HAHA)

This is their most recent family photo from Harvestfest of last year, they now have an 7/ almost 8 year old, an almost 3 year old, and an almost 2 year old. They're projected to have 4 kids, so their family photos won't change up much for a while according to my plans.

I bought this one well used without dust jacket in the mid-80s. I first read of Clark Ashton Smith in the introductions by Karl Edward Wagner in the Berkley Medallion Conan paperbacks, intros by L. Sprague de Camp in the Ace Conan paperbacks, and the introduction by Lin Carter to The Adventures of Jules de Grandin. I first read Clark Ashton Smith in Tales of the Cthulhu Mythos where I first read “Ubbo-Sathla” and “The Return of the Sorcerer.” I was hooked. I never had a problem with Smith’s prose style unlike Isaac Asimov who made his displeasure with CAS known in the anthology Before the Golden Age.

I consider Clark Ashton Smith to be the other foundational pillar of the sword and sorcery genre along with Robert E. Howard. He was unique.  I was fortunate in that David Hartwell published three Clark Ashton Smith collections in the early 80s with the Timescape Books imprint. I then found the four Ballantine Adult Fantasy paperbacks that filled in a few more holes. I spent hours like I did with The Last Celt learning more about Clark Ashton Smith and finding out what stories I did not have. In time I got all of Clark Ashton Smith’s fiction tracked down due to a friend in England who found the paperback reprints of the Arkham House books for me.

There is a Clark Ashton Smith trade paperback collection in print right now from Penguin, The Dark Eidolon and Other Fantasies. This is a good place to start if you have not sampled Clark Ashton Smith.

All-time…

SHU leads the all-time Division I series with Bryant 14-6, and have won two of the last five contests. The two teams have a history of keeping things close. The most recent time a game was decided by double-digits, besides last season, fell on January 28, 2013 where the Pioneers reigned victorious 62-44.

The Pioneers last time out…

SHU avenged its earlier season loss to Fairleigh Dickinson knocking off the Knights, 61-43, Saturday afternoon at the Pitt Center on Senior Day. The Knights connected first working up an early 4-0 advantage in the game's opening minutes. The visitors' lead lasted a little over two minutes before a layup by Candice Leatherwood put the Pioneers ahead and gave them a lead their opponent failed to take back. SHU expanded its lead to 18, the largest of the afternoon, capped on the backend of Tykera Carter free throws at 1:38 in the third quarter.

The Bulldogs last time out…

Sophomore Stephanie Lesko connected on three triples, but Bryant fell to St. Francis Brooklyn on Sunday afternoon, 66-60, at the Pope Physical Education Center in Brooklyn Heights. Freshman Hannah Scanlan poured in seven points and sophomore Sydney Holloway added six as the Bulldogs broke out to an early lead and ended the first quarter leading, 20-7. St. Francis Brooklyn bounced back in the second quarter thanks to six points in the frame from Casey Carangelo and five from Jade Johnson. The Terriers trimmed the Bulldog lead to two, 33-31, entering the half.

A Lesko 3-pointer was the only field goal for Bryant in the third quarter. Redshirt-junior Naomi Ashley added a pair of free throws, but SFBK outscored Bryant, 12-5, in the quarter. Both teams' offenses clicked in the fourth, as the Terriers paced the Bulldogs and extended their lead after scoring 23 points in the final quarter. Lesko and junior Haley Connors added a pair of 3-point baskets in the quarter.

No. 5 Bryant…

The Bulldogs finished fifth amongst its league opponents mirroring an 8-10 league clip with LIU Brooklyn. Bryant is currently on a four-game skid raking losses against St. Francis Brooklyn, LIU Brooklyn, Saint Francis U and Robert Morris. This decline follows 3-1 streak getting the better of Wagner, Mount St. Mary's and Fairleigh Dickinson.

Sydney Holloway's 17.4 points a game nearly doubles the next leading Bulldog-Naomi Ashley with 9.1. Holloway's scoring figure ranks third in the league but takes first-place honors in rebounding, 10.3, as the sole NEC representative averaging a double-double.

No. 1 Saint Francis U…

SFU has won 12 of its last 13 games, with SHU interrupting their streak back in mid-February. SHU stunned then-top-seeded Saint Francis U on the Red Flash's home-court edging the foe by one. On the frontend of the two teams shared meetings, the Pioneers fell 89-48, to roll out their season.

After matching records with Robert Morris to close the season, the Red Flash were granted the one seed topping the Colonials with a better NCAA RPI. The Red Flash's first assignment is No. 8 Fairleigh Dickinson prior to the SHU/Bryant contest.

Jessica Kovatch spearheads the Red Flash offense pouring 24 points each outing for 719 registered in the season.

No. 8 Fairleigh Dickinson…

FDU dropped four of its first five in NEC action and rallied behind a 5-0 mark to help make up for it. The Knights have fell in its final five meetings as the last team to clinch a playoff right finishing 7-11.

Amina Markovic (12.5) and Madelynn Comly (10.4) are in FDU's scoring forefront. Lauren Francillon are leading the Knights on the glass with 7.6 boards per game.

The first time around…

On January 15, after leading for almost 33 minutes straight in large part to Tykera Carter's career-high 21 point-production, the SHU's defense faltered in the fourth allowing Bryant to rattle off seven unanswered points. Such spurt not only gave way to the Bulldog's first lead since the game's early proceedings but rhythm the Pioneers failed to nullify. Candice Leatherwood's hard take to the rack knotted the score once more but Bryant credited 19 of the game's final 30 points to escape with the 81-73 conclusion, Monday afternoon at the Pitt Center.

Four Pioneers led a balanced attack against the Bulldogs the first time around with Carter netting a career-high 21 points on 41.2-percent shooting. The senior guard also distributed a pair of assists, hauled five boards and a steal. Carter also tied a career-high four triples connecting on 50-percent of her tries and was seamless at the stripe (3-of-3).

Katherine Haines contributed 18 points on 58.3-percent shooting and was two rebounds shy of a double-double. She also swatted three Bryant shot attempts and came up with a steal. Candice Leatherwood (12) and Erin Storck (10) also tallied. The redshirt-junior dealt seven assists, but was just a 57.1-percent free-throw shooter and turned the rock over eight times. She partly made up for it with four thefts. Storck added a pair of dimes, a steal and five boards.

The second time around…

On February 5, SHU was down just two with the shot-clock turned off in a tightly contested battle with host Bryant. A pair of missed free-throws by the Bulldogs gave hope back to the Pioneers but a rebound falling in the hands of Bryant put out any kindle of a SHU comeback. Redshirt-junior Candice Leatherwood logged a new career-high 26 points in the 60-56 loss Monday evening at the Chace Athletic Center.

Leatherwood's personal best still stands and was supported by five rebounds, two assists and a steal. The Pioneers' next leading scorer was Adrianne Hagood off the bench with seven points on 1-of-6 shooting. Abigail Kangudie led SHU with nine boards.

Last year's tourney journey…

Bryant prohibited championship opportunities for the Pioneers in the semifinals, 75-68 after SHU topped St. Francis Brooklyn by 21-point margin.

Against Bryant, then-senior Adaysha Williams put up a career-high 26 points picking up 10 in the first four minutes of the third quarter. She received scoring help from Katherine Haines and Tykera Carter to keep both teams within striking distance of one another.

The Pioneers broke the program's three-point record to victimize the Terriers last season. The Pioneers were lighting it up from beyond the arc, shooting 45.5-percent (10-of-22) in the first half, alone. SHU concluded the game shooting 47.1-percent (16-of-34). All five starters-including Katherine Haines-hit a shot beyond the arc. The Pioneers' 90 points scored nabbed a season-high.

SHU in the NEC…

SHU is the only team to make the NEC Tournament every year while a member of the league dating back to the 1999-00 season.

(Valentina's POV)(AN: These next few posts out to be LONG since there's so many kids)

This year we all made the trip to my parents house for Harvestfest, every year the family grows by a few that it's hard to believe that 10 years ago none of us were married and all 10 of us lived at home. 10 years later there's 6 of us married (with 2 on the road to marriage), and 16 grandchildren with a few more on the way! It's all proof of God's endless goodness and undeserved kindness in our lives! We decided to do an all grandkids picture so my parents can update the framed pictures they've got (and so my mum can have an updated picture to boast about all her grandbabies on Simbook 😂) Trying to get all the kids to stand still was definitely a massive effort, there were almost 15 of us standing behind the camera making noises and waving toys to keep their attention. The older kids did great at crowd control, we just had to move quick so no one started crying, because one crying child sets them all off and it would've been disaster.

My parents have been loving having all of us at home again, my mum has been prepping for the past week to have us descend on her house. She's in the last few years of homeschooling the twins, and once that's done then she'll be able to retire herself as a homeschool mum. Dad is still running his tech business, and when mum isn't homeschooling she's actively working on her music as she has commitments to teach at various music camps. Zachary missed Kelsey this Harvestfest, she had arrangements with her family but they'll be seeing each other soon after so he'll be travelling back to Brindleton Bay with us.

The Paulson Family: Carter (32) and Madelynn (29), with Lester (7), Fitzwilliam (2), and Alana (1)

Carter and his family are doing great! Carter continues to work for Willowcreek PD, there's been mention of him transferring out to move back to Newcrest but it's a decision that they're praying on right now. Madelynn is homeschooling Lester through a homeschool co-op, so the other two get to tag along and hang out with the other kids whilst their older brother learns. Little Alana definitely keeps the family on their toes, she's just like her cousins and loves a good runaround!

The Townsend Family: Aria (8), Valentina (29), Abbott (2), Adele (1), Eric (32), Ansel (7), with Asher (2) and Abigail (1) in the front

We're very thankful for each other and for our little (or not to little) family! I'm so thankful that the Lord has blessed us with a family that has filled our hearts and our home, Eric and I thank the Lord everyday for his blessings on us.

The Paulson Family: Alan (28), Tessa (23), Charity (3), Edgar (2), Jonathan (11m)

Alan and Tessa still live in San Myshuno and are raising their 3 beautiful children. Alan continues to work as a critic whilst Tessa stays home to watch the kids. Their family are always so encouraging in our various group chats, and they're always keeping us up to date with the on-goings of the pro-life ministry they work with. Tessa is always in Willowcreek to see her parents and her twin sister Tabitha (who is married to cousin Tanner), so the cousins (both 3rd and 4th generation) are always getting to see each other.

Celeste (27) and Reid (25) have much to be thankful for - they're engaged! Reid proposed a few days before Harvestfest and Celeste was overjoyed. The couple have already planned for a winter wedding before Christmas time, so Celeste has used the opportunity of having us all at home to immediately ask all of us sisters and as well as our sister-in-laws Madelynn and Tessa to be in her bridal party. Reid's parents video called our parents so they could greet the couple together when they got back to my parents house. Celeste is over the moon to be engaged and can hardly wait to be married!

The Crocker Family: Gregory (28), Kristyn (25), Kayla (2), and Wyatt (3m)

The highlight of the year for Kristyn and her family was when little Wyatt joined them! Kayla is enamoured by her little brother and the family thank the Lord for his safe arrival. Gregory continues to work as a lawyer with his father's firm, and Kristyn now has two kids to keep her occupied.

The Crawford Family: Tucker (26), Sabrina (25), and Campbell (1)

The Crawfords are ecstatic to be expecting to use another blessing from the Lord, Sabrina is almost in her second trimester and they're almost able to find out the baby's gender. By next easter they're going to have a new member of the family to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord in the spring! Sabrina said they'd announce baby's gender when we're next all together for Celeste's wedding. Little Campbell is such a smart little boy who is working towards gaining more skills, since they're around animals a lot he's great at recognition.

The Paulson Family: Jarrod (21), Madison (19), and Myles (1)

Jarrod and Madison announced to the family that they're also expecting - and its twins! They've recently found out and Madison already has the cutest little bump, little Myles doesn't understand yet but he's about to get a 2 for 1 deal on siblings and be a big brother two times over. Madison is going through the motions of a twin pregnancy, thankfully for her she's got me and my mother who have experienced multiple pregnancies more than once, with the way twins run in the family I'd be shocked if we didn't get any more twin pregnancies.

(Adalynn's POV)

Mason's sister Molly and her husband Elijah visited us for Easter, and whilst they were here they announced that they're moving to Willowcreek and that they're expecting a baby! They've been married for a few years now and have been praying for a baby, so we're all overjoyed for them to be on this journey to being parents. Angie says that she's had the most blessed weekend, with easter and Molly's news happening all in one weekend. Elijah's job in Oasis Springs has an office here in Willowcreek and he just got a promotion that involved them moving here. For the next few weeks, Molly and I will be pregnant together for the first (and I hope not the last) time ever.

Madelynn and Tabitha were also excited at Molly's news! Molly has gotten to know the other girls better whenever she and Elijah would visit us here in Willowcreek. Madelynn and I have been discussing the end of the school year, she sends Lester to a homeschool co-op in our area that uses the same curriculum that I use with our boys plus other supplementary ones. Mason and I have been considering the co-op as the boys get older, but for now while they're in junior school I feel like I should be in control of their education. Tabitha had her baby Ember earlier in the spring, so now she's got a toddler and a newborn to wrangle.

I feel so blessed when I think about the fact that part of our church family is our actual family, sometimes I feel bad that the boys don't get to grow up with their cousins like some of my other nieces and nephews, but seeing them play with my cousins kids makes up for that. Technically the kids are second cousins, so that's close enough for me.

Only a few more weeks to go before baby #9 joins us! Because of Parker and Lana's wedding we didn't get to do a small weekend away, but we're taking the time to soak in these last few moments with the boys before we get thrown into the cycle of having a newborn in the house again.

(3rd Person POV)(AN: The ages I'm listing are the newly adjusted ages that took me like 65 years to sit and calculate, so disregard any old ages that you might have in mind for the characters and just have these ones in mind)

This year for Harvestfest, all of Claire and Ryan's kids came back into Newcrest to celebrate at their childhood home. Since Eric and Valentina have the most children (and Valentina is the oldest daughter), they got to stay in at the house with their parents and single siblings whilst the rest got their accomodation in town. It was great having almost all of the extended family in Newcrest because it meant having their relatives essentially take over the town.

(AN: With all of them lined up like this, I've never really noticed that the kids are an even split of redheads and blondes. Genetics are wild innit)

This is this year's siblings portrait. Between these 10 kids there are 13 (almost 14) grandchildren that have been born, and hopefully many more to come as the years go on. Having all the kids be home means that the house is full of hymns, with everyone singing worship music to glorify the lord and worship him together. All 6 married children live away from home, so getting to see them all together is wonderful for the 4 kids living at home. Celeste, the oldest and only girl still living at home is relishing her single season of life. She spends her time working as a nanny for various church members, when she's not doing that she's out of town visiting her siblings or volunteering her time with different ministries. The Lord hasn't brought anyone special into her life yet, but she's content with her gift of singleness. Zachary is the next oldest boy at home and he's currently working full time with a local contracting company run by a man that attends Newcrest Baptist as well, he's got someone that might end up being special but for now they're just friends. Conner and Jarrett, the youngest 2, are almost done with highschool and are thinking of what they'd like to do. Both have ideas of going to a bible college to study either software design (for conner) and accounting (for jarrett), they're hoping to study online or to go attend colleges neat family that they can stay with.

These are the 6 married siblings and their spouses:

Carter (31) and Madelynn (28) live in Willowcreek with their 3 children: Lester (7), Fitzwilliam (1), and their newest addition baby Alana. Carter continues to work for the Willowcreek Police Department whilst Madelynn remains at home to homeschool Lester and care for the home and children.

Valentina (29) and Eric (31) live in Brindleton Bay with their 6 children: Aria (8), Ansel (6), Abbott (2) & Asher (2), and their newest additions Abigail and Adele. Eric continues his work in freelance software engineering work whilst Valentina focuses her energy on homeschooling the kids and taking care of the house and the blooming garden they've developed. When she's not busy doing that she's working on her music and teaching music classes here and there. In the past year they've gotten chickens and have been working with the children on learning how to care for animals, with talks of a dairy cow in the future.

Alan (28) and Tessa (21) live in San Myshuno with their 2 (almost 3) children: Charity (2) and Edgar (1). Alan continues his work for Christian Critics Association whilst Tessa stays at home with the children, most recently preparing to welcome their newest blessing to the family. (AN: She had the baby like a day after Harvestfest, it was a little girl named Faith. With Tessa's scheduling she should be pregnant again by the new year 🥴)

Kristyn (25) and Gregory (28) live in Oasis Springs with their daughter Kayla (2). Gregory continues his work for his father's company whilst Kristyn stays home with little Kayla. They chose Harvestfest to announce that they're expecting another little one!

Sabrina (25) and Tucker (26) live in Brindleton Bay with their son Campbell (6 months). They opted to not join his family on their music tour to stay home and bond with the baby, but did join for a few tour dates that were close enough to home that they could travel.

Jarrod (21) and Madison (19) live in Evergreen Harbour with their newborn son Myles. Myles joined the family just a few weeks before Harvestfest, so he was the youngest family member at the festivities (until Tessa's baby was born). Jarrod works for a construction company with a few other men from their new church, and they're excited to settle in nicely as a family of 3.

(Adalynn's POV)

I love weddings, but family weddings are just that much more special since it means our family is growing. Lana has been such a darling since we met her, and we thank the Lord that she's now officially part of the family. The wedding itself was beautiful, the Lord was the at the centre of it all, represented by the large cross that Lana had hung up between them.

This is probably going to be the last picture of the boys before their new sibling gets here, this baby is due to arrive in the summer and after easter, we've not got many opportunities to dress up and take group pictures. It's also quite an uphill climb to get all 8 kids looking at the camera at the same time, as evidenced by little Titus doing his own thing.

Kyleigh and I managed to get our picture together, the third time we've been pregnant together. This will be her 11th child whereas this will be the 9th babe to join our family, we've just been so blessed to be able to have been given the responsibility to birth and raise all the children that we've had (and any more that the Lord wills for us to have). My mother always gets so excited when we send these photos to the family group, she's always said that God is so good, and all the kids are a perfect example of it.

The first time we were pregnant at the same time was when I was pregnant with Aaron (#3) and Kyleigh was pregnant with the twins Rose and Violet (#4 & #5), additionally, Valentina was pregnant with her 2nd child and Madelynn with her first. The second time that we were pregnant together was when I was newly pregnant with the twins Caleb & Jonah (#6 & #7), and she was pregnant with Preston (#9)

I love getting to see my sisters again, especially the ones that I don't see as often, of course we video call here and there as well as chat, but it's not the same as getting to chat and catch up in person. I'm so far the only sibling that lives without a sibling neighbour, Amira and Zoe are both in Windenburg whilst Maggie and Reece (and therefore Stacie) live in San Myshuno. We tried to make plans to visit each other, or maybe take a sister trip somewhere when we're free, which may not happen before this baby is born, so maybe we'll have to plan for next summer.

Seeing my cousins is also great, we all grew up very close and now we still try and keep those bonds steady even though we live far away from each other. Valentina is actually coming to see us once this baby is born, her brother Carter lives close-by so she's going to kill two birds with one stone. It was also great seeing both my sister Priscilla and my cousin Kristyn, they both live in Oasis Springs so they were local for the wedding and helped Lana with some of the planning logistics. Kristyn is also pregnant, she's halfway through her pregnancy with her second child who they found out is a baby boy!

(Valentina's POV)

Madeline had her baby! She went into labour and had little Alana Paulson 5 hours later. She and Carter are overjoyed to have a little girl and big brothers Lester and Fitz are already in love with their little sister. Little Alana brings the grandkid count up to 10! We just finished our music camp so my mum travelled back to Willowcreek with my cousin Adalynn and was able to be at Carter and Madelynn's house in the last week before she gave birth up until Alana came. It's my mother's greatest joy to be able to be with her grandchildren and help her daughters-in-law in any way she can. Carter and Madelynn have little Lester at a homeschool co-op, so my mum had the new experience of participating at the co-op and teaching a classroom full of many children the same age and not just a sibling group.

In other baby news, Jarrod and Madison are pregnant! The newlyweds live in Evergreen Harbour near Madison's family, Jarrod works at a construction company run by a few men at their new church. They live in a cute apartment in a nice, quiet neighbourhood about 45 minutes away from Madison's parent's house. They can't wait to welcome this little blessing into the family!

Alan and Tessa are also having a baby! Little Charity is 2 almost 3, and little Edgar just turned 1 a few weeks ago, so they don't really understand the concept of a new baby but are excited nonetheless! Tessa is in her first trimester a bit behind Madison, so we've got another pair of babies about to be born at around the same time!

(Valentina’s POV)

Happy Harvestfest! I volunteered to host this year, meaning we had 21 people descend on our quiet little cottage out here in Brindleton Bay. I loved having my parents, all my siblings, and all my nieces and nephews around and filling up the house, it definitely brought be back to growing up at home with all 10 of us before we all got married and moved away. My mum said it was nice to have a change of scenery and be out in the countryside for Harvestfest, whilst Newcrest where we live is itself already outside of the commotion of the city since my grandparents wanted to raise their family away from worldly influences, out here where we live it’s truly the countryside where you can appreciate nature.

The family is under the cut! 

Ryan (56) and Clare (52) Paulson

My wonderful parents are still so in love with one another with this year marking 32 years of marriage for them, 10 children and 9 grandchildren later and you’d think they were still newlyweds! Dad is still working in tech programming and at this point has helped create many Bible and devotionals apps that help other Christians get closer to the Lord, his current plan is to work until he’s 65 then he can retire and support the family with the pension that he’s earned as well as the money he gets from the apps. When she’s not homeschooling my youngest brothers (the only two left being homeschooled), my mother is either writing or teaching music. She helps coordinate the music at church, with the Winterfest nativity play music being her current project, and whenever the band/orchestra play she’s usually the one that has arranged the music, as well as guiding the players through the song. In the new year Newcrest Baptist is running a music camp, so she’s been preparing for that mainly; my cousin Zoe and I will also be teaching at camp so we’re all looking forward to the new year. 

The Paulson Family - Carter (30), Madelynn (27), Lester (6), Fitzwilliam (1)

Carter and Madelynn have their 2 boys and right now are enjoying the different experiences that come with having a child and a toddler. Madelynn is homeschooling Lester as well as having him to go a christian homeschool co-op in their area twice a week, to further enhance his learning. Fitz is a year old and so just tags along with whatever Lester does, Madelynn goes through the toddler basics with him, but mostly focuses on Lester right now. This winter they’re going skiing with Madelynn’s family, her father is supporting their local conservative candidate in the election and the fundraiser is being held at a wonderful ski resort in the mountainous region.

The Townsend Family - Eric (32), Valentina (29), Aria (8), Ansel (6), Asher & Abbott (2)

We’re all good over here! I’ve started the school year with Aria and Ansel and both are progressing wonderfully, it’s amazing how much these kids love learning and I’m encouraged by their enthusiasm! I’m starting a rudimentary course with the twins to get them hopping on the learning train, they’re so interested in what their older siblings are doing that I thought it best to jump right into school with them. Eric and I have been thinking about getting some farm animals, we took the kids to the farmer’s market the other day and they were enraptured by the chickens, goats, cows, and sheep. It would be great to have the animals, we’d get fresh animal produce that’s homegrown to add to our fruit and vegetable garden produce, as well as a learning opportunity for the children to learn about animals and to learn the responsibility that comes with taking care of animals. This winter, other than learning about plants that flourish in the winter, we’ll also be focusing on learning all about animals and how we care for them. We want to be ready to welcome any animals that we might get onto our little homestead in the coming spring. I’m also working on what I’ll be teaching at music camp hosted by Newcrest Baptist in the new year, when I think of opportunities like this I can’t help but thank the Lord for my parents, had my mother not poured into us and taught us how to play instruments then I’d never be blessed with this opportunity to teach others.

The Paulson Family - Alan (28), Tessa (21), Charity (1), Edgar (6 weeks old)

Alan and Tessa have had the most recent addition to the family, 6 weeks ago Tessa had their second child, a boy they named Edgar! Tessa truly inspires me, she barely had the time to recover after having a baby before loading up to travel down here with everyone! She’s such a blessing, I was talking to her on how she handled travelling with a 2 children under 1 and she made it sound so easy! If they keep going at their current rate then they’ll have another baby by next Harvestfest - how wonderful! This winter they’re travelling to Sulani with Tessa’s family, they’re excited to have the sun and the ocean instead of frigid air and snow as they celebrate the birth of our Lord! 

The Crocker Family - Gregory (28), Kristyn (25), Kayla (1)

Kristyn and Gregory are enjoying life with little Kayla, they’ve had a wonderful time adjusting to her joining and family and love it. She’s the first granddaughter on their side of the family as Gregory’s sisters have had all boys, so she’s definitely being spoilt at home! Kristyn has always had a great love of children, and she’s been open with us sisters about praying for another child soon. They’re staying in Oasis Springs this winter and celebrating Winterfest with Gregory’s family.

The Crawford Family - Tucker (26) and Sabrina (25)

The newlyweds have been loving this new season of life together! Sabrina called me and told me that she’s been loving married life way more than she thought she would. She and Tucker honeymooned in a little cabin tucked away in the woods up by Granite Falls; after a couple gets married and goes from limited physical intimacy to being married and being allowed to do everything, it is quite an adjustment to get used to. It’s good for them that they got that time together because they’ve got a packed schedule soon after this. They’re travelling with the Crawfords to sing at churches in the area for the winter, and after that they’re back on the farm for the springtime harvesting and to prep for the summer harvest and their summer tour. It’s been great to have my sister living in the same area, during times when they are home we try and coordinate when we can see each other.

Jarrod (21) and Madison Jenkins (19)

We’ve also got a newly engaged couple on the block! Jarrod proposed to Madison when he was on a visit to see her in Evergreen Harbour, they had just finished church when he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him! They’re planning for a winter wedding, meaning that they’re also planning around our cousin Charles and his wedding; hopefully they can nail down dates so that we can all make it to both weddings. With a family as large as ours, it’s definitely going to be interesting to see how the rest of the singles do it when it comes time to plan their weddings, since Celeste is the last girl left my parents only have one last time to be the wedding hosts.

Celeste (27), Zachary (19), Conner & Jarrett (16)

Celeste is truly thriving in her singleness, when she’s not at home serving others she’s travelling around visiting those of us who moved away and investing in the lives of her nieces and nephews. She also spends time investing in the lives of those around her, she travels with our cousin Macie to different young ladies’ retreats and they both counsel and guide young ladies on how to better their walk with the Lord. This winter she’s joining Macie and a few other youths from our Newcrest Baptist on a missions trip to Selvadorada, so that’s another thing to add into our families already hectic winter.

Zachary is also enjoying his new status as an adult, he’s started working part time for a lawn services company run by a member of the church and a friend of the family. He’s also joining Celeste on the missions trip to Selvadorada this year, it’ll be his first time out of the country so he is very excited!

Conner and Jarrett are enjoying their time as the youngest kids in the family, they’re quite self sufficient at school meaning that they’re working through it quite quickly and are on track to graduate early! It’s always great when we get to see the boys, Ansel is old enough for them to bring him along when they go on outings, so it was great to have them here together.
