I sure do!

I'm in the process of figuring out Banana King. He's fun to draw. (I gave him spots like a banana 🤭). I keep forgetting/deliberately not including his beard because it looks kind of goofy tbh, but he is supposed to be goofy, so idk. Also an attempt at designing my version of the Banana People.

I wanted to develop the PANI islanders a bit because the wiki did them dirty and I think they have unused potential. I was going to give them all wicker basket-esque masks, but I thought it would be more interesting if they each came up with different ways to cover their faces.

Starson! Figuring out a way someone could feasibly shape their hair into a star and have it look like a (somewhat) normal hairstyle was a long but rewarding experience. I have no idea why he wants to look like this.

It's Caroline Barker! I was really proud of myself for being able to capture a likeness (before giving up on the hair), but this is pretty old and I think I could do better now.

So I have read, that I can remember, 4 retellings of the Iliad: The Goddess of Yesterday by Caroline Cooney, Troy by Adele Geras, The Silence of the Girls by Pat Barker and A Thousand Ships by Natalie Haynes.

Now, admittedly, I can barely remember most of Thousand Ships because the last few chapters sort of ate my memory of the rest of it. But strikingly, of all the various Iliads that I have read, the one with the most characterization is the original.

There's a lot more nuance in the original to most of the major characters, they have more complex motivations and relate to each other more complexly. They often are more relatably emotional, even though, I think a lot of what the retellings change is, ironically, an attempt to remove the unrelatable parts of the story (ex. the honour culture around the war).
