Wow...WOW. The AUDACITY.

Poor Drew losing his life by HIS OWN CHOICES. Nina didn't force him to commit a crime, or take a plea deal where he'd be going to prison anyway, or even operate as a mole for Sonny, which led to the beating in the shower. Nina didn't keep him from Scout, nor did she push him into being completely focused on Carly. See, that's on him.

What keeps getting ignored is that A CRIME WAS STILL COMMITTED! CREW ARE STILL CRIMINALS! Yes, Nina turned them in out of spite, but she wouldn't have had anything to call about if they didn't break the fucking law!

And here comes Drew, big bumbling Drew, out here beating his chest like he's some tough guy, chatting about not beating Nina up just because she's a woman. The same man willing to isolate and throw his daughter, the daughter he claims to love oh-so much, he's using as a guilt chip as if he'd know how to put his kids' needs before his own or his girlfriend's. What a punk-ass, weak little bitch. That beating couldn't have happened to a nicer man, truly. I only wish it did kill him.

Bobbie Spencer and her kids. Now I would love to see Terry Brock show up as she was Bobbie's stepdaughter and she loved her like daughter.

The Liz and Carly scenes at Kelly's were beautifully written. Liz talking about how Bobbie was a "refuge" for her in the aftermath of being raped will always get to me.

Liz and her career as a nurse are absolutely intertwined with the best of Bobbie's legacy, and it was nice to see that highlighted. I also appreciated that they didn't try to force some artificial bond between Liz and Carly. It was emotionally honest. It almost felt like Liz was doing Bobbie a solid and checking in on her daughter for her, because that's what she would have wanted. Good dialogue writing.

Two people who don't get along setting aside their differences to grieve over someone they both loved. That's real and beautiful and grounded by strong performances from RH and LW. More of this effective use of history and longstanding relationships and less of the SEC nonsense.

*Mom informed that I missed a part where Carly accused Liz of being her "friend", obviously that line is not included in my compliments toward the writing of this scene lol

The funeral for Barbara Jean Spencer (August 1, 1957-December 31st, 2023)

The Bobbie stuff that has resonated the most so far was the scene with the vets finding out. All the initial reactions from Laura, Lucy and Scotty honored her particular histories with those people and the flashbacks were chosen well and paired nicely with each reaction.

LW is doing really good work portraying the initial shock of grief and I like that they had her touch upon the very complicated past Carly had with Bobbie. She could have used a better scene partner, though, because Drew and his Hallmark platitudes completely took away from the weight of the scenes.
