Not a hc relationship for a Burns kid with a reader (my brain can't accept that ¨reader¨ is supposed to be me 😕)

But what do you think of hc for Charlie x Carin??? Why not have some old people love fluff?? How would the rest of the Burns kids react knowing that their dad is ¨back in action 🤭😉?

I wanted to send you ideas/hc's for a future au with some of my crack ships, but I think that you won't like them

Charlie x Carin Headcanons

🚨Given the fact that they’re in their middle age, most dates are probably quiet ones, when rescue work doesn’t get in the way. Their relationship gives me big “quality time as a love language” vibes.

🚨They still like to hike together! They get to appreciate nature and the quiet time away from responsibilities for a short while and just enjoy each other’s presence. Sometimes their hikes turn into picnics.

🚨They also do lunch when they can, cafe dates where Charlie pulls out her chair for her and they playfully fight over who will cover the check. Chivalry ain’t dead~

🚨They talk policing, getting to know about what each other has done and heard about working on the police force. Carin likes to get Charlie all flushed and bashful when she goes on and on about how famous he is in the mainland rescue community.

🚨They do talk about family as well. They both have plenty of stories of Jerry to laugh about, and of course there is always a lot to say about the Burns’ kids.

🚨But Charlie? Well Charlie mainly just wants to hear about her.

🚨He loves his kids and is proud of them but he hears plenty of people praising the rescue team all the time. He wants to know about her. Why she became police dispatch, why she moved to the island, if she had a spouse…

🚨And if she did, they speak of their passed loved ones fondly together, which only strengthens their bond and makes Charlie feel less guilty about pursuing love again.

🚨Sometimes they do drives around town (or Carin joins Charlie for parol) courtesy of Chase, who is painfully oblivious to these two flirting and how much of a third wheel he is.

How The Kids Would React

The Burns’ kids would definitely notice when their dad starts hanging out with a woman his age. At first they would stay out of it for sake of pretending it’s not happening and not wanting to make assumptions, but when casual meetups turn into obvious dates, they have a talk about it. And when I say ‘they’ have a talk about it, I mean just the kids.

They know their dad still loves their mom and that their dad has gone through so much that he deserves to be happy. If that’s with Carin, they’re… okay with it. Kade is surprisingly the most accepting of it.

It can’t not be awkward when your parent starts dating again. The Burns’ kids and Carin have a lot of strained awkward conversations before they get used to her being around.

They do like Carin but this doesn’t stop them from making faces and fake gagging behind her back if they catch the two getting affectionate, no matter how innocent it is.

“Oh gross, they’re kissing!”

It’s likely the most awkward for poor Cody, who is probably a teenager at the time this is happening. Not to mention the fact that he and Carin’s nephew (Jerry’s son) are likely being made to hang out more because of it. Not that Cody doesn’t like him but I’m sure he gets plenty of “Ew Aunt Carin and your dad are dating! That’s so gross!” Or they just avoid talking about it at all which makes for a lot of awkward silence.

🚨Charlie never hides his newfound relationship from his kids, but he is hesitant to talk about it.

1, because he’s not sure how they’ll react to him moving on from their mom

2, he knows it’s ‘cringy’ when a parent gets mushy with someone

And 3, he knows that they’ll tease him about it

Kade: Hey, uh, Dad! Is that a new shirt? Don’t think I’ve seen it before! Going somewhere… special?

Charlie [parent warning voice]: Kade…

Dani: Oh hush, Kade. Let him have some fun, he deserves it!

Graham: Oh, uh, but not too much fun!

Cody: Guys, ew!

I actually like your idea of Mrs. Burns leaving the family instead of her being dead. Although the topic of parental abandonment is a heavy subject to talk about for younger audiences, it's still an important thing kids should learn about.

Thank you! Mostly is for angst, the topic of maternal abandonment is something I don't see much in children's cartoons unless is a bad divorce or the mother is depicted as 100% evil and a total jerk to her children and husband...

In my canon, Msr. Burns never wanted a big family, she just wanted a happy life with Charlie (mostly because of her past family abuse trauma that I haven't revealed yet), but Charlie, still accepting his wife's decision, did not feel fully happy. But, after Charlie's work became a 24/7 daily life... Msr. Burns was the one to start becoming unhappy... and thus... mistakes were made.

And for that, let me present you with a meme that explains the rest!

Ok, I don't know if you have seen the ask on my dashboard, but I had a dream in my afternoon nap where Charlie became Robocop because of an accident caused by Chase... Based on the 2014 Robocop movie.

But now I remember more (unfortunate) details about it...

Like, they used Chase's own metal parts to save Charlie!

Kade din't like what they did to his dad now beliveng that he is dead and they just replace him with an A.I.

Carin took Charlie's place as the new chief of the town while Charlie became the Mayor's bodyguard!

Huxley keep following Cody (who was ten at the time) after school to attack him with horrible questions about his thought about his dad!

HELP ME WITH SOME HC! Please so I can get this idea out of my head...

Okay, so with the accident, maybe Chase accidentaly caused an explosion while handling an emergency and Charlie had to save Cody and that's how he got injured.

Chase volunteered for Dr. Greene to use his limbs to save Charlie out of guilt. But when Charlie woke up, he acted robotic and cold towards the bots and his kids and started to fufil his duities in extreme and ways that made Luskey make Charlie his personal bodygaurd.

Carin became Cody's foster mom and took the mantle as the chief of Griffin Rock.

Oh, and we are not sparing Cody from this. Oh hell no.

Fuckley-being the fuckwad that he is-uses this as an oppertunity to get some clout and targets the key witness to the accident, Cody. So now Cody has to deal with Fuckley harrassing him with horrible questions about the accident which nearly caused him to have a panic attack (he has PTSD from seeing his father basically get turned into a robotic shell of himself)

All of that reached it's peak when Fuckley FOLLOWED Cody to his school and proceeded to harrass him infront of other kids. This actually caused him to have a MENTAL BREAKDOWN infront of everybody and was only calmed down by Frankie and Priscilla.

One of the staff actually saw Fuckly harrass the boy and called Carin who arrested him for stalking, tresspassing, and harrassment of a minor. The Burns eventually got a restraining order on him and Fuckly's reputation went to the shitters.

How do you think of a TFRB AU where Charlie is a single father whit his only child Cody (who is just 10 or 12) and instead of Graham, Dani, and Kade, we got Hayley (who is a firefighter in this AU), Taylor, Amy, and Carin working with the Rescue Bots...

So, Hayley gets Heatwave, Taylor gets Blades, and Amy gets Boulder.

Oh! And Chase has to work with both Charlie and Carin!

Interesting idea.

For starters, I think Cody would be pretty lonely without siblings. With his dad working a lot, I imagine Cody spending more time at Doc's or with a babysitter while his father works.

Since Cody is his only child, I imagine Charlie struggling a bit more as a parent, basically in the first-time parent stage. And that along with his job as Chief of Police, it can be hard juggling and balancing both of these.

And I think Carin would take Cody's place in communications, since technically, a child shouldn't be doing something like that, no matter how capable they are.

But I can see her willing to train Cody as a communications officer.

So instead of Cody trying to find his place amongst his hero family, this AU would be more about just proving himself to his dad. Some conflicts would come from Cody feeling admittedly bitter at his father not being around often and Charlie sort of trying to get better at being a dad.

I can also see Cody playing matchmaker for Charlie and Carin.

Carin would get along with Chase, but I primarily see him just being Charlie's partner.

I think Hayley and Heatwave could work together well, but personality wise, they could clash, with Hayley being the gentler and more passive one and Heatwave being the tougher one who's ready to fight at any chance. They would find a compromise and work together well.

I imagine Taylor being a bit more patient with Blades and his fear of heights and flying. He would try to help him through his fear, but I can sometimes see him going a bit overboard, accidently pushing Blades past his limits.

I think Amy and Boulder would get along very well. They would both be eager to learn about the other and they would be able to teach each other about Earth and Cybertron, respectively.

Cody would still serve as a mediator between the humans and the bots, and the bots would aid Cody in trying to prove himself to his dad, especially Heatwave, who spent a lot of time proving himself to Optimus.

At first, I wasn't sure about this AU since I'm used to Kade, Dani, and Graham, but I admit, this would be rather interesting to explore.
