#Captain rex x f!oc

okay I have been super inactive these last days, but I’ve been moving (big fucking surprise, I bet you hadn’t heard)
but it’s had an interesting side effect. I’ve been imagining Rex and Nevaeh, post-war, domestic, on Terra, moving into their first shared flat.
Nevaeh is still working in the warrior corps, but now that they aren’t at war anymore she has much more extended leave. Rex is in the process of becoming part of the warrior corps, but he first needs citizenship (yeah ik that doesn’t work with my world-building, shut up I’m dreaming) so he hangs around the house a lot (at first Nevaeh’s smaller apartment in the quite large Requa residence and then their apartment eventually)
but then they move in together and they’re like,,, idk putting together furniture and they get hung up on shit like “I’m building our bed right now. like the bed we are going to share.” “forever.”
and then they have obi and ani over as guests or something and they throw around phrases like “hey babe, my mum called the other day btw. She needs help with [insert thing iDK] but I’m at work tomorrow, could you drive out?” and they’re like totally baffled like HUH?? THEYRE LIKE A FAMILY??? and rex and vae don’t realise just how domestic they’ve become
Oh and Ahsoka lives in like a spare room in their house until she’s a legal adult and can get a job and her own place and all that
And Rex has never had to do anything around the house right? So idk I just picture cut and soo coming over at some point and when Rex sees the opportunity he yoinks Cut away in a panic and explains how Nevaeh has been doing ALL the work, like the cleaning and the bills and the cooking and shopping and the EVERYTHING and he feels super bad and “I didn’t know you were supposed to vacuum couches?? and why didn’t we learn how to build shelves as cadets??” And instead of showing Rex How To Do Stuff™️ Cut just tells him to talk to Vae and she ends up just teaching him the Everything™️
and yeah anyway,,,, I am considering options for the ending of When We Bleed

Illicit Affairs - Chapter 21
Tumblr media
Captain Rex x OC
Previous Chapter
Chapter Summary: The battle for Anaxes has reached its breaking point. As the Republic and Separatist forces face off, will Rex and Talia be able to get past their history or will the rising tension between them lead to further broken hearts.
Chapter Rating: E (18+)
Warnings: Angst, Fluff, Smut, Oral (f receiving), PiV, creampie, canon typical violence, mentions of death.
A/N: Thanks for your patience with the wait on this one. It's a long chapter, but I in no good conscious could split it in half and make y'all wait (which for me, who loves good cliffhangers, is saying something.) Thanks to my darling @galacticgraffiti for beta reading, and for being with me on this journey for TWO YEARS. Won't be much longer for the next chapter.

19 BBY - Anaxes
The Republic suffered heavy losses on Anaxes, something that Rex couldn’t help but feel a bit of guilt for as he walked through the medical station at camp. Given the chance, he wouldn’t do anything differently, he would always go back for Echo; but he couldn’t ignore the nagging thought in the back of his head that he should also have been in the field for the rest of his men. It was hard for him to not feel like he had the responsibility of the war on his shoulders. After so many years of command it was impossible to not feel that burden. Part of his mind told himself that he should be used to it by now, that this was the way of war. But the other part reminded himself that he was feeling that guilt because he was human.
Echo had been in medical care since they arrived back on Anaxes the night before, and Rex hadn’t seen him since. He had to get caught up on the siege and was also encouraged by Kix to give the medical team some time, and Echo a chance for much needed rest. But Rex came as soon as he had a moment, he wanted Echo to know he had someone there for him. As soon as Rex walked in to see him, he was greeted by the sound of raucous laughter.
“-and that’s not even all of it,” Jesse was saying as he stood in front of Echo, a grin overtaking his face. Kix was leaning on a table to the side, shaking his head but smiling along, Echo sat on the edge of his bed, his head in his hands as he shook with laughter. “You know how Hardcase could never say no to anything. So, when he was dared to try a sip, he downed the whole bottle-”
“And the whole barracks regretted the dare with how much he puked that night,” Rex added, remembering the story Jesse was sharing as he walked in. Jesse and Kix laughed at the memory and Echo smiled along. “We were lucky to be shipped out the next morning: I feel bad for the cleaning droids that had to deal with that.”
“I’m sure the 501st is responsible for half the contraband rules in the GAR,” Echo joined in, the smile on his face making him look livelier than he had the day before. Jesse and Kix said their goodbyes, giving Rex a chance to talk to Echo alone.
“How are you feeling?” Rex asked tentatively.
“As good as I can be,” Echo replied simply with a small shrug. “Medics say I’m fine, I’ve just been getting some nutrients and solid food for the first time since…well, since it happened.”
Rex nodded, glad to know that there weren’t any flags raised. Echo would still have to go through some conditioning and a psych eval before going back to combat, but there was some relief in knowing Echo would be ok. Echo shifted his seat, a frown creasing on his lips as his face scrunched in thought. He glanced at the door where Jesse and Kix just walked out, then back at Rex.
“Fives is dead, isn’t he?”
Rex exhaled heavily. Of course, Echo was too smart to not figure out why Fives hadn’t come to see him yet.
“I’m sorry. That’s one of the reasons I was coming to talk to you today.”
Echo nodded, his head tilted down, so he was looking at his hand and the scomp link the Techno Union had attached. “The last thing I remember was him calling my name. Next thing I knew-”
Echo’s words choked in his throat, but he swallowed whatever he was trying to say. He glanced back up at Rex and forced a smile. “Figured he would have been on the mission with you guys, that’s how I knew he was gone.”
“I’m sorry,” Rex repeated, because once more guilt was taking over him. It felt too simple just to say ‘sorry’. That one small word couldn’t encompass all the guilt he was feeling, and how it connected to Fives.  He forced a low chuckle, thinking of a different world.“Fives would have been the first volunteer, and he might have single-handedly taken on the Techno Union if he’d seen what they did to you.”
“How did it-” Echo started to ask but a knock sounded on the door. Rex and Echo glanced to see Talia standing in the doorway. A pit formed in Rex’s stomach at her sudden appearance; he hadn’t spoken to her since their conversation on the Havoc Marauder.
“Sorry, I can go if I’m interrupting,” Talia quickly said, her eyes flicking once in Rex’s direction before locking on Echo. “I just wanted to see how you were doing.”
“It’s fine. I was just leaving, General,” Rex said quickly. Echo’s eyes darted between the two of them, but he smiled politely at Talia. In truth Rex did have to leave - he was supposed to be in command for a briefing on his next assignment. And Cody was still injured, so he was going to stop by his quarters to see him after checking on Echo. He was also being selfish, because he hadn’t thought of how he would explain how Fives died to Echo before he stepped in. Everything around Fives’ death was painful, and he didn’t want to cause Echo any more potential stress. It was just another burden for Rex to carry.
Since Cody was out of immediate danger, he was allowed to rest in his officer’s quarters and attend briefings, but much to his chagrin, he wasn’t cleared for combat. When Rex entered Cody’s room, the commander was out of the bed, sitting at his desk with a datapad in front him. Rex knew no medical orders could keep his brother from work. Cody didn’t look too bad anymore, he was just bandaged around his chest; it was probably precaution more than anything that kept him on rest. Cody looked up as Rex entered and offered a mumbled greeting.
“How are you feeling?” Rex asked, sitting on the edge of the bed that Cody had abandoned.
“I’m fine,” Cody grunted, uncharacteristically grumpy. He sighed and looked at Rex. “I should be cleared for duty already. It’s ridiculous being cooped up here.”
“I’m sure Kenobi has things under control, and wouldn’t want you to rush yourself,” Rex offered. Cody grunted again.
“You’re right. Hell, he’s probably the one ordering the medics to keep me here no matter how much I try and pull rank,” Cody’s tone had lightened a bit. “Still, I can’t imagine I’ll be out of action much longer. I heard things went well on Skako.”
Rex nodded. “Echo’s still being looked over. He seems to be holding things together well, after everything he’s been through.”
“That’s good to hear, he was always a good kid,” Cody said. He sighed as he leaned back in his chair, running a hand through his hair. “Never deserved for that to happen to him.”
Rex nodded. He couldn’t think of anyone who would deserve what the Techno Union did to Echo.
“How’ve you been holding up?” Cody asked.
“It’s not easy to see brother in that state, or  to know I’m partially responsible for him being left behind-”
“You’re not,” Cody interrupted. “You know you can’t think like that. It was a mission from hell, and we couldn’t have known what would happen to him.”
“Still doesn’t make it any easier.” Rex replied darkly.
Cody seemed to accept that and nodded.
“Still, that actually wasn’t what I was talking about,” Cody said slowly, as if Rex was missing something more obvious. Rex just stared at him in mild confusion. Cody put his datapad down and fixed Rex with a serious stare. “You looked like you saw a ghost when you saw General Riva the other day, Rex.”
“I don’t see what that has to do with anything.” Rex frowned and shook his head.
“Rex, we aren’t going to sit here and act like you haven’t been a miserable piece of shit since you two ended things.”
Rex scoffed at that, “Bold of you to call that out.”
Cody sighed and pushed his chair back. “Honestly… seeing how you’ve been since and watching you two dance around each other in command meetings this past week, I’m surprised no one else called either of you out before.”
“There’s nothing to call out, we ended-”
“I know it’s over,” Cody waved him off, “But Rex, come on. You look at her like the stars shine out of her ass. How the hell did I never see it?”
Rex stared at him in disbelief. “What does it even matter now?”
Cody sighed and fixed Rex with an imploring look. “I’m saying you do everything you can to look after the 501st, all of our brothers. Maybe I was wrong to call out the one thing you did to look after yourself.”
“What, suddenly I have your blessing or something?” Rex scoffed.
“I don’t give a shit what you do. All I care about is that you take care of yourself. We’ve lost so much. All of us. And we need to fight for something that we believe. Not because we were trained to fight for it, but because we chose to fight for it. It’s what makes us human.”
Rex frowned and looked at his hands, already warring with himself. He opened his mouth to try and find a reply, but nothing came out. He was rescued by his comm beeping - General Skywalker ready to brief him on the next assignment already. Rex sighed heavily, and glanced back at Cody who was still giving him that frustrating, knowing look. If he hadn’t been injured, Rex would have had an urge to slap it off his face. And yet once again, Rex was leaving Cody’s room after a conversation that would stick in his mind.
Tumblr media
The air around the base was tense. One didn’t need the Force to sense that something was about to finally give in the battle for Anaxes. They had been stuck in this stalemate for too long, and now both sides were getting ready for a final push. Rex trusted Echo’s plan to feed false information to the Separatist forces, even if Rex was worried Echo was pushing himself back into action too quickly. Rex would also stand by Echo, no matter how much the Batch seemed wary of his intentions, worried that he had spent too much time working with the Separatists to truly be on the Republic’s side again. Rex knew Echo, knew he’d had no choice in what his mind was used for. But now, he did.
The Batch and Anakin had already boarded the Havoc Marauder, and as Rex turned to join them a voice called out, “Wait a second!”
Rex turned as Talia was running over, a little out of breath. She halted in front of him as Rex stood next to the walkway.
“Aren’t you leading the 412th into the assembly complex?” Rex asked bluntly. Talia frowned, but shook her head.
“Storm has it under control. I figured you all could use some extra support here,” Talia’s tone turned stiff. “Is that going to be a problem for you?”
Rex couldn’t ignore the slight crack in her voice. He sighed and shook his head, “It’s not my call what you chose to do, General.”
Talia pursed her lips but nodded, “Then we best get on our way.”
She sidestepped him and boarded the ship, leaving Rex looking on as he once again found himself berating every little action he took. Just like when they went to Skako Minor, he knew her help was always an asset. And he didn’t want it to be this way, but he was still thinking about his conversation with Cody, and what had happened on Skako.
It wasn’t his place to question her, especially not anymore, but Rex could still feel the terror-filled awe that had overtaken him when he watched Talia take down the tri-droids with lightning. He had seen many incredible things done by the Jedi, but to see that amount of raw power coming from someone he cared about… it was mesmerizing, inspiring, and terrifying all at once. He had always known how powerful Talia was, even when she doubted it herself, but this was beyond anything he could ever have imagined. And what had scared him the most was that Talia didn’t seem to care about the cost it took on her. He saw how the lightning lit up her body, encasing her in a frightening glow, only for her to fall weak to her knees, exhausted and drained instantly after. Rex was a practical man, and Talia was right that a power like that had its use. He just didn’t think it was worth risking anything that could cause her pain.
As he contemplated this, he was only left more frustrated afterward, unable to convey his worry as anything more than irritation.  Especially when it seemed like there had been a chance for normalcy between them again with how they had talked on the mission.
He didn’t want to hurt her, that was never something Rex desired. But he couldn’t resist throwing her words back at her, because even though Rex knew Talia hadn’t meant to be cruel, she had to know how horrible it made him feel. But now he felt even worse for the pain he saw in her eyes, seeing that she obviously felt guilt for the way things had ended between them.
And then there was what Cody said. As frustrated as Rex was by his brother’s sudden change of tone, Rex couldn’t go back on his decision just like that. For all he knew, Talia wouldn’t even want him anymore. Rex had surely done enough to keep her at arm’s length in his own misguided sense of duty, but he also worried he may have lost his chance. Crosshair’s teasing remarks to Hunter still rung in his ears, and he thought of how comfortable she seemed with the Sergeant. It hurt to think that she might have moved on so quickly, but Rex couldn’t fault her for doing what made her happy. In fact, the only thing he wanted for her was happiness.
If only there was time to work out this mess between them before it complicated things on missions even more. But Rex couldn’t ignore the rushing feeling around him, that the galaxy was heading in a certain direction and couldn’t be stopped. He, his brothers, and the Jedi were caught in the middle, ready to crash when this all ended.
Tumblr media
Sneaking onto the Separatist dreadnought went almost too smoothly, something that kept Talia’s nerves on edge. They didn’t encounter any droids on the way to the comm vault, aiding their plans for a stealth mission - even if Wrecker seemed to be tired of all their sneaking around. The vault was a small, circular room lined with wiring and electrical lights, and a tall console in its middle that Tech was rigging an interface in so Echo could safely log in. Anakin was checking to make sure there were no other entrances to the vault, ensuring that they couldn’t be attacked by Separatist troops. Talia held her blade in her hand, twirling it in her hand, ready to ignite at a second’s notice.
Talia was playing things close to the chest with this mission. Storm had already sent her a message conveying that the other Generals were not so understanding of her decision to abandon the plan that she should lead the 412th into the assembly complex, and that she had left Storm to command in her stead. But Talia’s mind was in too many places, and her judgment told her this was the place she needed to be. She could deal with the council later, even though she could guess that she would be under criticism for her rash decisions.
Once Tech gave the go ahead, Echo scomped into the mainframe, instantly accessing all the data. He intercepted a request from Admiral Trench, which Tech pointed out they would need to reroute the message to make it seem like the call was still coming from Skako Minor.
Talia stepped into the corridor that was leading to the mainframe, giving some space from the small room. They were lucky to have been undetected this long, but Talia knew that luck would eventually run out. She tapped her foot, glancing around as she tried to keep her mind focused.
“You doing alright?” Hunter’s question cut into her nervousness as he stepped up beside her in the corridor.
“Yeah, I’m fine.” Talia shrugged off, her voice more curtly than she had intended, earning a raised brow from Hunter. She exhaled, and attempted to sound more at ease. “Why wouldn’t I be?”
“I’ve just noticed how…tense you get whenever the Captain’s around.”
Talia stopped in her tracks and turned on her heel to face him. “Your enhanced senses can’t work like that.”
Hunter snorted at how she didn’t even deny it, a grin curving on his tattooed face. “They don’t. Anyone with any sense can see it.”
Talia cursed under her breath. “Here I thought we were always good at hiding it.”
“You probably were before,” Hunter shrugged. “But whatever happened between you two…it’s still hanging in the air.”
Talia huffed a laugh at that, it was such a simple observation, but she couldn’t ignore the truth behind it. “You don’t even know half of it.”
“Well, I know one thing; even if you had never told me you had a history with a clone, I would have still known you were in love with him by the way you two go back and forth. In battle, and in conversation,” Hunter stated as simply as if he were recounting a mission. He made it sound so obvious, , as if it were the most natural thing.  “Hell, even the way you look at him when you think no one else is noticing. Same for him.”
Talia let out a mirthless laugh at that, “I think we’re long past the days where he looked at me that way.”
She berated herself for letting that slip. She had already overstepped with Hunter in too many ways to count, but he just looked at her with a somewhat exasperated look. “He’s doing it now.”
Talia frowned and glanced over her shoulder, just to see Rex’s head turn the other way. Talia’s cheeks burned and her heart ached, she couldn’t give herself that hope, even if Hunter was trying to make it feel better.  Shaking her head, she mumbled, “We should check what’s going on.”
Walking back into the room, Rex’s eyes flicked in her direction once more, to Hunter, then back to Talia. His lips flickered to an almost imperceptible frown, something anyone but Talia wouldn’t have noticed. She must be imagining it, though. Interrupting her musings, Tech made a confused noise as he looked at his datapad.
“I’m intercepting a transmission,” Tech said, suspicion in his voice, “Trench is ordering all his troops to the assembly complex.”
“All right, Echo, what are you trying to pull?” Hunter asked doubtfully.
“Don’t worry, that’s what I told him to do,” Echo answered with an assuredness only an ARC Trooper possessed.
“But our troops will be vastly outnumbered?” Rex deduced doubtingly.
“Not when I send the feedback pulse that shuts down all the droids,” Echo explained.
“How do we know that’s what you’re really going to do?” Hunter asked suspiciously. Both he and Tech were sharing a doubting look, as if they had been expecting this all along.
“We have to trust him,” Rex jumped in, frustration mounting in his voice as he tried to placate Hunter and Tech.
“Rex is right,” Talia joined, knowing that nothing would be accomplished if the squad was arguing amongst itself. “If Echo says the plan will work, it’ll work.”
“We’re counting on you, Echo,” Anakin said as he lifted his wrist to call General Windu, warning him that things were going to get a lot heavier for the troops in the assembly complex. Echo returned his focus, and Hunter and Tech seemed to accept that if it was a good enough plan for the Jedi, it was good enough for them, even if Talia could still feel the lingering suspicion on them. Rex on the other hand, didn’t waiver in his trust. In fact he seemed grateful that the tension had dissipated.
“We should be on guard,” Talia said aside to Rex, “With what I know of Trench, he’ll probably be suspicious the second things don’t work out as planned.”
“You’re right,” Rex agreed, glancing down at Echo, “I hope he didn’t play his hand too strong.”
“Keep an eye on things here, I can patrol outside and be ready at the first sign of trouble,” Talia ordered, already turning to the exit.
“What?” Rex asked, following her, “Let one of the Batch do it, I know Wrecker is itching for a fight.”
“And that’s a surefire way for us all to be discovered before anything happens,” Talia joked, earning a light huff of laughter from Rex. “Don’t worry: they won’t see me until it’s too late to do anything about it.”
Rex nodded as Talia turned away, her hilt in hand and ready for action.
“Talia,” Rex called, and she stopped; she had almost forgotten how sweet her first name sounded off his lips. She glanced back at him, his hands clenched at his sides, his brow furrowed as if he didn’t know why he called for her in the first place. He exhaled softly and met her eyes, “May the Force be with you.”
Talia nodded in return, a warmth settling in her, “May the Force be with you.”
The eerie calm of the ship was something that might have unsettled a younger Talia, new to war and battle. Hell, even a few hours ago she would have been more unnerved by the prospect of sneaking around, waiting for the calm to break. But she had to be prepared, she knew this calm would not last. It never did. She hid in the ventilation shafts, out of reach of any droids who passed by on patrol, waiting for any sign or signal that would propel her into action.
Talia’s comm chirped and she answered quickly, hearing Rex on the other side.
“Talia, they know we’re onboard. We’re going to have to make a quick evac,” Rex said rapidly.
“Got it, I’ll clear a path for you,” Talia answered. Sure enough, the sounds of clanking footsteps were starting to fill the corridors. Talia kicked open the grate beneath her and dropped below, landing with a thud and ignited her saber. She held the blade in front of her, the glow lighting the corridor as the steps approached. Talia stood still, breathed in and out, and waited for the first droid to round the corner.
Once they turned, they immediately fired, but Talia was ready, redirecting their shots effortlessly with her saber. The hall was narrow, preventing more than two droids from lining up side by side as they approached. Talia sprinted forward, her momentum carrying her up the side of the wall, and she leapt in the middle of the group of droids. Before they could turn back to fire at her, she tossed her saber at the front group, slicing them in half before calling it back. She twirled her blade rapidly, redirecting the shots the second group was firing at her, slowly pressing forward to make it to the end of the hall.
Blaster fire echoed down the corridor; more droid forces must have corned the rest of the squad. Still, Talia pushed forward, hoping that her presence as a Jedi would call more of the droid troops to her position.
She sliced droids in half, used the force to crush them into the durasteel walls of the ship. Their shots danced around her, narrowly missing her as she carved a path through them. Her comm beeped, but she ignored the sound as she focused on the droids. Rapid metal footsteps behind her proved her plan worked, as a pair of commando droids stormed towards her. She held up her hand and slowed them with the Force, still using her blade to take out the droids closer to her. As she lost her hold, they sprinted toward her, but she moved quicker, sliding to the ground on her knees and slicing the droids at their calves, making them crash to the ground. The disassembled droids tried to push themselves up, but Talia Force-pushed them backwards, into the pile of miscellaneous droid parts her fighting had caused.
Talia ran forward down the hall, getting closer and closer to the port the squad had used to enter the ship. Blaster fire still sounded, and she hoped the squad had made it back unharmed.
Another squad of droids found her, and Talia had to give their programming credit for their tenacity. A few more, and this might even grow to be a challenge for her. She raised her blade, ready to strike again when a small round device rolled towards the droids from behind her.
The droid popper went off and the droids crumpled to the ground from the shock. Talia’s blade disengaged as she turned in confusion to see Rex standing behind her, one hand holding a blaster that pointed at where the droids previously stood.
“The rest of the squad is already on the ship, we need to go,” he explained shortly.
“I had it under control,” Talia answered irritably; she didn’t need to be rescued from a handful of battle droids. Rex sighed as he turned.
“You weren’t answering your comm,” Rex said as he stepped away. “And I wasn’t going to leave you.”
Guilt wrapped in Talia’s gut for how harsh her tone was. She quickened her steps after him and grabbed Rex’s forearm. He halted his steps, his helmet locked on where her hand grabbed him as she said, “Thanks…for having my back.”
His helmet lifted and she stared into the back of his visor. “Always will.”
Talia didn’t know what to say. She just nodded, and finally released his arm when she realized she was holding it for far longer than she should have. Rex nodded and turned back down the hall, his blaster raising once more.
It didn’t take them long to reach the Marauder, which dislodged from the dreadnought as soon as they were safely on board. Anakin handed a detonation device to Wrecker, who let out a loud cheer as the dreadnought exploded, and Talia internally echoed his joy: after so much back and forth, it was good to have a victory that meant this siege was over. She stepped out of the cockpit, going to sit in the back of the ship for the quick trip back to base.
“Talia,” Rex’s voice called from behind her, she turned to find him approaching her, his hands clenching and unclenching at his sides. Talia flicked a simple grin back at him, ignoring the way her gut flipped as he came up.
“For the record,” he started, and Talia tensed, preparing for some other fault he had suddenly discovered in her. But to her surprise, Rex;s hand was scratching the back of his neck, his tone more apologetic as he continued. “I know you could have handled those droids. I wasn’t trying to overstep-“
“You were trying to show off,” Talia interrupted, deciding humor was the best way to dissolve yet another moment of tense awkwardness. To her relief, Rex smiled. “I meant my thanks. You know more than most how stubborn I can get.”
Rex laughed at that, then asked, “So, what’s next for you?  I’m assuming the 412th will be shipped out pretty quickly.”
“I’m sure I’ll be getting orders from the council as soon as we land,” Talia shrugged, not letting herself feel hope at the twinge of something akin to sadness she felt coming from Rex as he asked her, “That is, of course, if I’m not grounded on Coruscant again.”
Rex raised a brow at her, and Talia sighed, biting her lip before continuing, “I kind of went rogue to join you guys here. Storm covered for me, and things ended up working out, but I can bet I’ll be getting an earful about recklessness.”
“Why would you do that?” Rex asked. His brows were cinched as he tried to read her face. For such a smart man, he could be truly oblivious at times. Talia was sure the same could be said about herself.
Talia glanced around the ship, making sure the Batch and Anakin were still otherwise focused before she met Rex’s eyes. “Look, Rex, I know things are complicated between us right now. But I still care about you, and I was worried.”
Rex didn’t say anything, his brows still furrowed as he listened. Talia gulped and couldn’t hold back the words spilling from her mouth.
“It’s just, I can tell how much stress you’ve been under, and I know I haven’t helped with that, but when you went to Skako I had to be there for you in case things with Echo didn’t turn out as well. And today, I was just still so nervous that something would go wrong, and even if you didn’t want me here I had to make sure-“
Talia’s words were cut off as Rex’s lips pressed into hers, her eyes widening in shock but fluttering closed as she melted into the kiss. His hand was placed against her lower back, holding her close to him; Talia had weirdly missed the uncomfortable way that plastoid pressed into her as her body was against his.
Rex pulled back slowly, his eyes drifting open, that soft, warm brown that still made her gut twist in the best way. For a moment, he looked content, then his eyes widened, and he removed his hand from her back.
“I-I’m sorry, I shouldn’t-“ Rex shook his head softly but the way he looked at her told Talia that he didn’t believe a word he was saying.
Talia opened her mouth, trying to say a million things back to him. It’s ok. You have no idea how much I wanted that. I missed you.
I love you.
“We’ll be landing shortly, everyone should get seated,” Tech called from the cockpit. Rex pushed away from Talia, returning to the cockpit. She was frozen, still feeling him on her lips and cursing herself for not saying more, terrified that she had lost her last chance.

Some people hated goodbyes, or at least Rex had heard that in sayings tossed around by natborns. But Rex had always felt differently, mostly because he couldn’t count the number of people he never had the chance to say goodbye to. He couldn’t let himself linger on it, it wouldn’t help anything, but sometimes he found himself wondering what he would say with one last word. But Rex was beginning to understand what the sayings meant, as he watched Echo leave.
He knew it was the right call, that Echo knew where his place really was. It just felt like Rex was saying goodbye to a part of him, even though Echo hadn’t been back for long. But Echo was something to hold on to from the early days of the war, ever since he was that overeager shiny from the Rishi Moon. Just a kid when he joined the 501st, now he was a man forged by the harsh clock of war. And with him left one of the few things that tied Rex to an older version of himself he could scarcely remember.
Rex informed the generals that the Bad Batch had already departed, not being the types for the ceremonies of the medals they had earned. The generals didn’t comment, and Rex stood tall as General Windu handed him the medal he had earned. It sounded egotistical to say, but Rex couldn’t count the amount he had gotten in the last three years. He kept them of course, but he never knew what to think of them. At first there was an honor that came with them, and he still felt that, but now he couldn’t ignore the way he was shrouded by a bit of jadedness. After everything that had happened, this was just another campaign to add to the countless he had been in. He saluted as Windu gave him the medal, but the one thing on his mind was Talia, and wondering why she wasn’t there.
Dusk had quickly settled over the encampment, its golden glow and the harsh shadows casting over the men who already worked to pack up equipment. A small force would remain on Anaxes, as was protocol, but the cog of GAR couldn’t slow down, and most of the forces would be quickly redistributed to wherever else in the Galaxy they were needed. Rex had assumed the 412th would be one of the first groups to set out, something seemingly confirmed by the amount of troops wearing black and gold armor that still hustled around the base.
It was reckless and stupid for Rex to kiss Talia, not just because they were in plain view of Anakin and the Batch, but because he had done it without thinking. His feet carried him across the compound, somehow more determined than his own confused mind as they led Rex in a direction with no idea what course of action he could even take.

Three heavy knocks pounding on her durasteel door shocked Talia out of her meditation, or more of her attempt at it. She should be packing; she was heading out first thing in the morning, but when she got back to her room she couldn’t focus on anything. Not the report she needed to fill out, not the fact that she was clearly in trouble with the Council from the tone that Windu and Kenobi had used with her. The only thing she could think about was how she could still feel Rex’s lips on hers, could still feel the pressure of his hand against her lower back, the remnants of his essence tattooed in her memory. She practically bolted to her room after speaking with the other Jedi, trying to rid the confusing moment from her mind to no avail.  So when the knocks sounded, in the way that only he ever did, she stared at the door as if that would will it to open, for she was frozen to the ground and unsure if she could even handle being in a space alone with Rex.
Slowly, she rose from the ground, approaching the door with heavy steps before opening it.  Rex stood on her step, his helmet clutched tightly in his hands, doubt and questioning etched into his face. His eyes met Talia’s, and for a moment she half expected him to excuse himself and turn away, instead he blurted, “Can I come in?”
With a lump in her throat, Talia nodded and stepped to the side, allowing Rex to enter, quickly shutting the door behind him. It was strange how easily he fit into the room, she was so used to sharing spaces with him that she hadn’t pinpointed how empty her quarters felt without him until this moment. His eyes scanned over the room, shifting his feet uncomfortably as he fiddled with his helmet in his hands. He exhaled, and set it on Talia’s desk, before returning to face her.
“Echo left,” he said with measured words. Whatever he was going to say, that wasn’t close to what Talia expected, and she sensed it was not what he planned on saying first.
“I’m sorry,” Talia offered sincerely, knowing how conflicted Rex must feel about it. “I’m guessing he joined the Batch?”
Rex nodded. “I told him to go, and said that if it was where he felt his place was, then that’s where he belongs.”
“Not everyone’s path is the same one they started on,” Talia said sagely, “After everything Echo’s been through, I’m glad he’s able to choose his own way.”
“You know, it’s funny,” Rex said slowly. “’Choice’ was never something us clones would have thought of. From the moment we’re created, our whole plan is set ahead of us. We train, we fight, and then we die for the Republic. Or atleast, that’s what I used to think. Once I got out here, once I lived, I knew nothing could be so simple, no matter how much my training tried to tell me there was just one goal for me. In fact, the longer I’ve survived, the more confusing it all seems.”
“That’s living,” Talia mused softly, “Even the wisest seers in the Order can misread the future. That’s because there’s no accounting for how people grow, how they can change their minds and their wants.”
“Or how they can be pushed in different directions,” Rex added. He shook his head, then glanced back at Talia. They stood in silence, just the low thrum of the air running through the vents of the quarters, the faded sounds of the camp outside the walls.  Rex shifted his stance, and took a breath before addressing Talia again.
“I had to see you before you left,” Rex started, his words weighted and heavy. “I owe you an apology-“
“Rex don’t-“ Talia interrupted, crossing her arms and avoiding his gaze. She gulped. “Emotions were running high, and that can be confusing enough for anyone.”
“That’s not-, I’m not here to apologize for the kiss,” Rex took a deep breath, “I mean...yes, if it upset you, I’m sorry for that. But I’m not sorry I kissed you.”
Talia’s heart pounded, “It didn’t upset me.”
Rex was trembling slightly as he approached her, as if the weight of all the burdens he had been carrying of late were finally releasing from him.
“I’m sorry I hurt you,” Rex said softly, his voice rough and sincere. “That’s the thing I want least in the galaxy.”
“I didn’t mean what I said,” Talia pleaded, the gap between them closing. “Rex, you know I think so much more of you, of all of you, than that you’re just soldiers-“
“I know that, “ Rex offered, “I know you too well to think you meant it. But at the moment, it hurt.”
“I regretted it the second I said it,” Talia continued, “But you left and I realized I ruined everything.”
“You didnt-” Rex took a deep breath, shaking his head as he insisted, “I was the one who fucked it all up.”
“What a pair we are, huh?” Talia forced a laugh before toying with her lip. She glanced back up at Rex, and hesitated before admitting. “We had everything, but it fell apart so fast.”
“We knew it was too good to last.” Rex muttered, but he knew he was lying to himself, trying to comfort the guilt he was feeling.
“Did we? I think I was so blinded, I couldn’t see anything other than you. But then you were gone and…I realized how much of a fool I was…” the words were beginning to roll off Talia’s tongue, faster than her own mind could comprehend what she was saying to hold herself together. “I realized how much I held back and wished I didn’t. How much more we could have had if I hadn’t been such an idiot. Now, when I think of you I’m in pain; because I had something perfect, something amazing. And I lost it because I felt like I didn’t deserve it.”
Rex was silent, and fear crept into Talia that she had admitted too much. That she was speaking to a lost cause, that he had lost any ounce of feeling he once had for her and this conversation was doing nothing but making him pity her.
“I’m the one who pushed you away,” Rex offered, cutting through Talia’s thoughts. Rex avoided her eyes, as if the piercing gaze would be too strong for him to face as he searched for his own explanation.  “All because I got scared that we could never have what we wanted, that no matter what I felt, it wasn’t possible. You called me a coward, and you were right. Just… after you got hurt, I was so terrified. I couldn’t deal with the pain of losing you like that. And when Cody confronted me, I gave in. Almost as if I felt that if we weren’t together, that it would hurt less than the fear of losing you.”
“Rex,” Talia said softly, lifting a hand to his face. Rex tensed at the contact, and Talia almost retracted her touch, but his eyes met hers and they were those same soft, warm eyes that she loved. She lost her train of thought, any words of reassurance or doubts of herself that she was about to say we lost as she looked into his eyes. Instead, she blurted out words she should have said long ago-“I love you.”
Her heart pounded as the words escaped her lips, fear and doubt creeping into her mind as she worried if she lost her mind for even saying it now, the same fear that had kept her from saying it before. But now it was out there and couldn’t be taken back.
“I know,” Rex replied softly, stepping so close to her now that barely inches separated them. “I’ve always known. Just like I’ve always known I’m in love with you.”
Talia didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, whether to keep spouting her feelings, dating back to all the times she should have said it before, but she just did the thing that felt most natural to her, which was to pull Rex closer and kiss him.
Rex’s arms were around her in an instant, holding her tightly against him, his grasp so tight it was clear he had no intention of letting her go. Talia’s hands wrapped around the back of his neck, fingernails scraping against that small patch of skin not covered by his undersuit or armor as their kiss deepened, hard and needy. Rex pushed her back into the wall, the cold durasteel firm against her back as Rex’s armor pressed into her front. She gasped as they pulled back for air, at first overwhelmed by the closeness, but when she saw Rex in front of her, she just felt comfort and longing. She pulled him back in, desperately seeking his lips, moaning into his mouth as his thigh slotted in between her legs.
The noise awakened something in Rex, and he rushed to start taking off some of the armor from his upper body, his fumbling hands unlatching the pieces as Talia held him for the kiss. He needed to be out of his armor, needed to feel the warmth of her body against his. Talia realized what he was doing and pulled back, freeing her hands so she could help. But Rex’s lips found hers once more as they both clumsily grasped at the armor, dropping pieces of plastoid without a care to where they landed, only separating for air.
“Wait,” Rex gasped once as they pulled back, his lips swollen but a confused look on his face, before he hesitantly asked. “What about Hunter?”
“You know about Hunter?” Talia asked, guilt and apprehension filling her.
“I do,” Rex swallowed and nodded. “I’m not upset…at least not with you. I let you go, and that’s the biggest mistake I ever made.  If he’s what you want, I’ll step away now. You’ll never hear from me unless you want to. I’m sure he could make you happier than-”
Talia shut Rex up by stepping up on her toes, cupping her hands on his cheeks and catching his lips with hers. Rex's eyes bugged wide, until they fluttered closed, his arms wrapping around her once more, holding her, taking comfort in the soft warmth of the curves of her body she pressed against the grooves of the remaining parts of his armor.
“I just told you I love you,” Talia reminded him with a slight, teasing giggle. Her face softened as she caressed his cheek with her thumb, “I slept with Hunter, but it was just so I could try and forget you for a moment.”
“I - really?” Rex asked. Talia could almost laugh at how surprised he was, as if he had already accepted the worst. His face then became more serious. “I…you should know. I slept with someone else too. It was just a one night thing, I haven’t contacted her since.”
“It’s okay,” Talia nodded, ignoring the hypocritical way she was hurt. “It doesn’t matter, we don’t have to talk about that now. Just…shut up and keep kissing me.”
“More than happy to follow that order,” Rex leaned in with a smirk and kissed her with a renewed hunger, his hands tightly gripping the curve of her hips. Talia groaned into Rex’s mouth as she pressed as close to him as possible, her hands fumbling for the latches on his chestplate. Rex pulled back to help her lift it away, and dropped it to the floor with a loud clunk. With only his lower armor still on, Talia’s hands ran up Rex’s chest, feeling the firm muscles and warmth of him in her grasp. Her fingers clenched around the fabric, using it to pull him to her once more. Rex’s hands slid down her waist, gripping under her thighs and picking her up, making Talia yelp in surprise.
They stumbled to the desk, Rex clumsily setting Talia on the edge of it, their lips barely separating for air. They were frantic, needy, desperate, as if they were afraid the other would disappear if they stopped. Rex pulled at the wrappings of her tunic, exposing Talia’s heaving chest. His mouth only left her lips then, trailing to the soft skin of her neck, his teeth nipping along the exposed skin and down to the breasts about to fall out of her bra. Talia moaned  as Rex slid her bra cup to the side, and sucked at her now exposed nipple. His other hand slid under the other cup, groping at the soft flesh. The cold air left goosebumps over her skin, contrasted by the warmth of Rex’s hands and mouth. Rex could spend hours like this, slowly exploring the body he knew so well yet hadn’t been able to appreciate in so long. In fact there was little else on his mind at that moment besides what he wanted to do to her just in this state of undress, except he had other ideas in mind.
Rex lowered to his knees, kissing down Talia’s stomach and dragging his hands down her torso, relishing in the sweet gasps for air that were leaving Talia’s lips. Rex’s hands stopped as he began to tug her pants down. Pink scars lingered  on her hip, trailing down her leg from the flame licked path. He paused, his fingers caressing the slightly raised skin, Talias breath hitched, Rex’s eyes flicked to her face, searching for any sign of discomfort. Talia’s eyes had squeezed shut, enough for Rex to push himself up from where he was kneeling. Talia’s eyes opened.
“I’m fine,” Talia reassured quickly, but Rex was still frozen, searching her face. She pressed a hand to his cheek, “Really, I’m ok. I just didn’t think about them.”
“I didn’t either,” Rex explained, “I just don’t want to hurt you.”
“You won’t,” Talia leaned in to peck his lips, then checked, “Are you ok? We can stop if you want.”
Rex shook his head, “I’ll only stop if you want me to.”
“Please don’t,” Talia said quickly, earning a smirk from Rex for how desperate she sounded. His fingers toyed along the waistline of her pants where they rested on her thighs.
“Someone’s needy,” Rex teased lowly, his voice thick as honey, slowly pulling at her pants. “Tell me what you want.”
Talia leaned back resting her elbows on the desk, offering up a sweet look, “I think you know what I want. And I think you want to do it.”
Rex offered a low noise of agreement, but taunted, “That some Jedi instinct?”
He slowly pulled the pants down a little further. Talia wiggled her hips, trying to shrug them off, but his hand held her firmly in place. She let out a frustrated noise, but Rex just smirked.
“Use your words, princess,” Rex ordered lowly. Talia’s cheeks burned, and she felt the pit of desire grow in her gut. She was half tempted to curse him for teasing her, and for how well he knew to play her. But she didn’t want to drag this out, they didn’t have time for a back and forth.
“Please,” Talia started sweetly, only to get slightly desperate as she ordered, “I want your mouth on me.”
“Hmm, I could ask you to be more specific,” Rex murmured, to which Talia made an indignant noise when he smirked, tugging her to the edge of the desk, making her squeak and falling to his knees. “...But I’m not patient enough today.”
Rex tugged her pants and underwear down with one swoop, wasting no time to press his face between her legs, his tongue swiping over her slit. He groaned at the wetness already there, and Talia moaned as his tongue flicked over her swollen clit. One hand held to the edge of the desk, the other leaping to the back of his head. It took everything in her to not hold him still as she ground against his face; she knew he wouldn’t have minded. But Rex licked at her like a man possessed, like she was the best thing he ever tasted. His hands held her firmly against him, grasping at the top of her thighs as he positioned her where he wanted her. He may have been the one on his knees, but he was the one in control.
It was surely a talent of Rex’s to have barely started but to already have Talia a whimpering mess. Her tunic was still half undone, her chest still half exposed as a red flush settled over her pale skin. She was biting her lip, trying to restrain her noises in some way but she would fail as Rexs tongue flicked over her clit, eliciting louder moans from her. And all he would do was grin up at her, his eyes almost taunting, before he continued his work.
His grip was tight around her thighs, nails practically digging into her skin as he held her in place. His tongue slid up and down her slit, teasing her by flicking at her clit in between each swipe. Her breaths hitched higher each time, her body reacting so easily to the simplest touch. Rex knew how to set her off, and there were few things he loved more than making her fall apart with just his mouth. He could feel every twitch of her thighs in his hands, hear how she failed to keep herself quiet, and taste just how aroused she was. He wanted her to feel good, wanted to feel her let go, and he worked as if he had something to prove, that he needed to remind her that only he could make her feel this way.
He circled his tongue around her clit, then wrapped his lips around it and sucked, sending jolts of pleasure up Talia’s spine. The wet heat of his mouth was intoxicating, Talia could hear herself begging him not to stop. Her arms shook so much she struggled to hold herself upright. But her gaze was locked on Rex’s face and how he devoured her. She couldn’t look away, even as tears sprung in the corners of her eyes and her whole body trembled. It was impossible to tear her gaze away, she was fixated even as she was falling apart. It was almost embarrassing how quickly she was coming undone, but she couldn’t help the way her body was lit aflame from every swipe of Rex’s tongue. He was precise, practiced, as dedicated to bringing Talia pleasure as he was in every other aspect of his life. He didn’t let up as her breath quickened, as her body tensed and he didn’t stop even as she cried out his name and quaked, coming from just the quick work of his mouth.
Talia’s moans faded, but her breath was still heavy as Rex rose from the ground, wiping his mouth with the back of his sleeve. He leaned in and kissed her, pulling her off the desk as he did. Talia’s legs were like jelly as she stumbled with Rex to the bed. Her knees hit the frame of the bed and Rex gently nudged her back, causing her to land with a soft flop against the mattress.
“Take your clothes off,” Rex ordered gruffly, his own hands tearing at the strips holding his remaining armor on. Talia pressed herself up on the bed, still breathless and flushed, but not moving quickly enough for Rex’s liking as he glanced over her, his heaving chest bulging through his undersuit. “Take them off before I rip them off of you.”
“You would just be finishing what you started,” Talia quipped as she gestured to the state of her tunic, still loose around her torso. Rex’s eyes flashed as she still played with the edges of fabric. He stalked to the bed, slowly taking his shirt off; Talia’s mouth went dry as she glanced over his chest, taking in the scarred and muscled form.  He lowered himself to the bed, and slowly crawled on top of Talia. Her heart pounded in her chest as his hands ran up her sides and found the edge of her robes. Talia cocked an eyebrow in a challenge as his eyes met hers. Rex rolled Talia over roughly so she was on her stomach, and her hands braced herself against the mattress as Rex’s hands at the top of her tunic’s back and tugged. With a shredding rip, the fabric pulled off her back and slipped off her arms, leaving Talia in just her bra. She half expected Rex to tug that off as well, but instead his lips met the back of her neck, kissing her softly as his hands deftly undid the clasp. Talia sighed as his lips traveled down her skin, the stubble on his face tickling her.
For a moment Talia thought Rex would take her like this, that he would shuck his pants off and roughly enter her from behind, pounding her into the mattress as she sheets muffled her cries. And she wouldn’t have minded; her body was coursing with need, prickling with the desire of his touch. But Rex instead gently flipped her over, opposite of the man who had moments ago torn her clothing to shreds. Rex’s lips met hers as soon as her back hit the mattress, a soft, exploring kiss, the moment slowed once again, as if savoring the moment before they delved back into their pure need. But this was what Talia loved about him, how there could be both sides when they were together. The tender with the tough, the smooth against the rough. She could see the switch flip in his eyes whenever they made love, see how his own desire kicked in. But he was always there for her, reading what she wanted and adjusting off her energy.
The kiss deepened, grew more hungry as they pressed against each other; Rex’s body pining Talia down as she squirmed beneath him, trying to angle her hips so she could relieve some of the tension settling back in her core. Rex ground against her, his still clothed, hard cock pressing against her pussy. Rex groaned into her mouth as he felt how wet she still was, dampening the fabric of his pants. Talia’s hands ran up and down his back, feeling the way Rex’s muscles flexed as he moved against her. Her hands slid down to his waistline, as she tried to nudge down his pants. Rex’s hands met hers as he helped pull them off, rushing to remove them so he could finally have her again. Once they were off, he pressed down against her again, the flame reignited as their naked bodies pressed together, already sweaty and burning with want. Rex’s cock pressed against Talia’s stomach, weeping with precum as he rutted against her, their tongues meeting as they moaned into each other’s mouths.
“Rex,” Talia whimpered between breaths, “Please. I need you.”
He pulled back slightly as he readjusted, a thin line of spit connecting their mouths. Rex was panting, his eyes blown out as he looked down at her. But he spoke with such an assured, put togetherness as he said in his rough voice,  “Anything for you.”
Rex entered Talia quickly and forcefully, her breath hitching and her legs spreading wider to ease his access. Rex waited until her body relaxed and her eyes opened, then Talia nodded her head and Rex began to thrust. His hips slammed against hers, his cock thick and hot as it stretched her cunt, her walls gripping around him and practically pulling him in. Rex’s eyes rolled back from the warmth of her, ready to be lost and never come back but he had to last longer, he didn’t want this feeling to end.
His arms wrapped tightly around her, squeezing her against him in a near crushing grip. Her nails were marking his back as she whimpered beneath him, her breaths punctuating every move of his hips into hers. The room was filled with the loud smack of flesh on flesh, the squelch of their bodies meeting, and the moans and grunts leaving their lips in near unison.
This wasn’t the way this should have gone, it was rushed and needy, with no time taken to care about the little details. They were still dirty from the mission, but the time taken to tidy up might have raised more uncertainty between them than either could stomach just yet. But yet this rushed state was perfection, pure desire coursing through and guiding them, an unstoppable force pushing  them together.
Talia cried out as Rex’s cock hit a spot deep inside her, making her head bend back in ecstasy. Rex did it again, wanting to see the way her face contorted in pleasure.
“It feels good, doesn't it?” Rex said, continuing to thrust.
“Yes!” Talia quickly responded, her cheeks flushed. “So good.”
“Who’s doing this to you?” Rex asked, a cocky possessiveness creeping in his tone.
“You are.” Talia gasped, her eyes meeting his. Rex’s hold around her loosened, and before Talia could whine from the change of pace, Rex’s hand gripped under her thigh and pulled her leg up to rest on his shoulder, his other arm still wrapped around her. His dedicated pace resumed, each thrust like a promise, punctuated with gasps, moans and words escaping lips like a prayer.
“Who’s the only one who can make you feel this good?” The possessive side of Rex was coming out stronger, as if he had something to prove, or that he needed to hear Talia’s response as much as he knew what it was.
“You are!” Talia answered. She swallowed, her breath heavy as pleasure crested within her. “I’m yours, only yours.”
“That’s right, you’re mine.” Rex echoed, firm and unyielding. He pounded into her harder, a renewed surge of need running through him. “Mine.”
Rex’s pace continued, hitting Talia right where she needed him. Each thrust was a jolt of pleasure that licked up her gut, so deep she could practically feel him in her throat. She was twisted around him, and he was all encompassing. Their skin was dewed with sweat, their chests almost clinging together as they pressed into one another. Talia would give him anything in this moment, ready to sacrifice all of her as long as he brought her that sweet release.
“Fuck Rex, don’t stop please.” She begged, cheeks burning and eyes watering. “ I love you.”
“Say it again.” Rex ordered, his pace unfaltering and his chin set, gritting his teeth as if he was barely holding himself together.
“I love you.”
“Again.”
“I love you!”
Tallia cried out as she came, her breath ragged and her body tensing as Rex lost what last bit of self control he had and he released inside her, hot spurts of cum filling her cunt. Rex’s thrusts slowed, exhaling as he hilted himself inside her. Their foreheads met, sweaty brows and panting breath meeting as their lips barely touched. After a moment that they wanted to last a lifetime, Rex pulled out of Talia and fell to the side, their bodies squeezed next to another in the tiny bed. The space was as small as they were used to sharing, but somehow there was a rightness in the way their bodies fit next to each other, even after all this time.
“This doesn’t change anything, does it?” Talia asked, still breathless. The air shifted, the calmness that had settled between them now filled with the unknown. Rex tensed, and exhaled a large breath.
“I don’t see how it can,” was all Rex could think to say. A lump formed in Talia’s throat, tears brimming at the corner of her eyes as she nodded. She rolled over to her side, already pulling off the covers to slip out of the bed and pull her clothes on. Rex’s hand gripped her arm, preventing her from leaving. “Wait, I don’t want-”
“What do you want, Rex?” Talia snapped, “I can’t do this again. I can’t let myself think there’s a chance for something just for you to change your mind. I’m not strong enough to hurt like that again.”
“I don’t want to hurt you,” Rex repeated for what felt like the hundredth time that day. He meant it, but he knew he had failed that promise in the past. And he didn’t want to mess this up again, to cause her any pain, but he didn’t know what promises he could offer her. Rex sat up, still holding Talia’s arm as he tried to work through this.. “I…I know that things haven’t changed in our situation, but I also know ending things was one of the biggest mistakes I’ve ever made. I want you, Talia.”
“I want you too,” Talia sighed, leaning back against the headboard. They sat in silence, stuck in the same moment as a million thoughts rushed through their heads. Talia knew there was only one answer to this, at least only one that had a chance to  make them happy.
“What if I left the Order?”
Rex shook his head, “it was wrong of me to ever ask that of you, it’s not fair-”
“You’re not asking it of me - I’m suggesting it. Rex.” Talia said softly. She looked down at her hands, wringing her scarred wrists as she worked to the realization that has been hidden from her for so long. “I’m not happy. This war has taken so much from me. The Jedi were the only thing I knew, and the only possibility I saw for a future. But Rex…I know so much more now. I know you, that you’re what makes me happy. I can’t lose that again.”
“But you could have so much more than me.” Rex insisted. His hand rested on her face making her meet his eyes so he could make sure she wouldn’t lie to him just to make him happy. “ You could be a Master Jedi, could go on to do great things.”
Talia silenced him by leaning in to kiss him, she pulled back and didn’t let her gaze falter. “Rex - you’re the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me - there’s no more that I need.”
“But still-”
“Being a Master was never in my cards.” Talia cut him off before he could go on about plans for a different future for her. “ I had a vision about it once, but I think I understand it now. I was always on the outside looking in, never quite fitting in with the rest of the order, or what the council expected of me. But I can find my own path without them. When the war ends, I’ll leave the order. And I’ll be yours, if you’ll have me.”
“You’ll always have me.”Rex answered quickly, a firm promise. “But, what about now? Our situation hasn’t changed.”
“Now is…more complicated. We need to be more careful than before. So. Not really together but…” Talia’s voice trailed off, still not sure what guidelines they could set. Because it was too complicated. She wanted Rex with everything in her, but she couldn’t abandon her men and leave while the war still raged on. And being with Rex while she was still in the Order was too risky now, they’d had too many slip ups already, too many chances that they would be exposed. “Now just…Just hold me, for a few minutes more and we can pretend like everything is okay.”
“We’re not pretending.” Rex said as he pulled her into her arms. His lips brushed against her forehead, lingering there as he continued. “It’s not perfect, but it’s something. I’ll wait for you, whenever you’re ready to leave. I know it’s a big thing.”
“It is, but I think it’s the right thing,” Talia answered. They settled back lower into the bed, a strange kind of peace laying between them. “This mess has to be over soon, so now we have something to look forward to once it’s done.”
“What do you want to do first?” Rex asked tentatively, allowing himself to think of an ‘after’ the war for the first time in a way that wasn’t dimmed by darkness.
Talia hummed thoughtfully, her lips pursing in before a grin curved on her lips. She glanced up at Rex, a twinkle in her eye as she said, “We should go back to the island.”
Rex huffed out a light laugh, “Better prepared and without the crash landing this time, I hope?”
“Duh,” Talia mocked. She wrapped an arm over his chest, her fingers tracing along the edges of his scars like she had done that first time on the very beach they were talking about. “It’s where we began, it’s where we can start again.”
“That sounds like a good idea.” Rex mused, a lazy half smile on his lips, “How about we meet there, once it’s all over.”
“Sounds like a plan, captain.” Talia pressed her lips to his again. “Or a promise.”
“Have I told you how beautiful you are?” Rex murmured, his hand cupped on the side of Talia’s face.
Talia thought her cheeks would ache from smiling, that they were burning from the blush that lingered on them. “You might have mentioned it sometime.”
“Not enough, I daresay,” Rex offered with a sly grin. He leaned closer to her, the coarse hairs of his scruff grazing along her neck in a way that sent shivers down her spine even in her exhausted state. He pressed a kiss in the curve of her neck, trailing up to her ear where he whispered once more, “You’re beautiful.”
“I love you so much,” Talia sighed.
Rex huffed a low chuckle. “So that’s all it took? Me calling you beautiful?”
“It’s a fair trade, I think,” Talia teased, lightly smacking his arm. But she set her face straight as she met his eyes again. “I mean it. I love you, Rex.”
 “I love you too.”
He leaned down to kiss the spot just below her ear, repeating his words once more. He trailed his kisses, followed by his adorations up her neck, to her jaw bone, as if tattooing the words upon her skin to leave his mark evermore. His lips traced to the end of her scar, pausing when Talia slightly flinched from the contact against the slightly sensitive skin. His eyes scanned  hers, waiting for Talia’s nod that it was ok, and he leaned in, tenderly kissing over the raised skin, “I love you, Talia.”
Talia sighed, a warmth of contentment filling her she hadn’t been sure she would ever feel again. She curled against him, feeling the warmth of Rex’s skin beneath hers, listening to the thud of his heartbeat. Her lips grazed the scar in the center of his chest, from the bolt that just missed his heart all those years ago. They laid together under that rough spun blanket, in the far too small cot, their arms wrapped around each other, their skin clinging to each other as they didn’t want to leave the others grasp. They fought off sleep, savoring the small moment they had with one another. It had been so long without the other's touch, but that absence only created a craving, a burning desire for the other’s comfort that would never be satisfied. They didn’t have the answers, not completely anyway. This simple impassé would be enough to hold over, to bridge the road to repair what they’d had before. There was the promise of something stronger, the unknown path of destiny and fate a sweet calling. What further doubts they had were buried beneath the surface, vanquished at the broken walls of their greatest barrier. As she drifted off, Rex’s hand brushed over Talia’s back, fingers grazing over the scars she received at the hand of the Zygerrians. The soothing action propelled her into sleep, no nightmares to be had tonight. Her dreams were filled with contentment and comfort, something the promise of a future with Rex held.

Date Night Pt 4
Pairing: Dogma x F!OC (Yen Ori'ken)
Rating: G
Warnings: Self-doubt/negative self thinking (by Dogma)
W/C: 4,025 (literally longer than the other 3 parts combined. Sorry that's what took so long!)
Summary: No O66 AU. Right to Love Matchmaking is a service to help clone troopers assimilate into civvie society and kick start their romantic lives following the reveal of Palpatine as a sith and the end of the Galactic Civil War. Dogma, reassigned to the 501st but dealing with lingering trauma from Umbara, never intended to utilize their services, committing himself to being the perfect solider he feels he failed to be before. That is, until Captain Rex intervenes, introducing the reluctant trooper to another stubborn force of nature: Matchmaker Yen Ori'ken.
Date Night: Part 1 (Rex x Reader), Part 2 (Cody x Reader), Part 3 (Dogma x F!OC. Only Part 3 needed to understand Pt 4). Right to Love AU Page
Tumblr media
It was the best date she had ever been on.
And she hated herself for enjoying it.
Yen had lost objectivity. The very trap she knew to avoid, the pitfall over which she had built a scaffolding of professionalism to protect against. Guilt gnawed at her stomach, making it churn uncomfortably as she looked through another batch of profiles.
And as much as she wanted to follow her kneejerk reaction and blame Daria for the hair-brained idea to go on a date with a client, Yen knew the fault lay solely within herself.
And possibly a little with Dogma.
It was insidious, just a tiny flutter at the way he had used his body to help her move through the crowd. It was a small gesture, barely anything. Something she’d smile knowingly at if a client had mentioned it to her after one of their own dates.
But no one had ever done anything like that for her. Not once. Not even on a real first date. In fact, looking back on her, admittedly sparce, dating history, Yen couldn’t think of a single previous boyfriend who had ever done anything remotely chivalrous.
No one who’s gentle hand and quiet guidance made her ever feel so … precious. Worth the effort of protection.
Honestly, if any had, she probably would have looked at them as if they had grown another limb. She never liked being treated as if she were incompetent, unable to handle herself without assistance in public.
But with Dogma, it didn’t feel like that at all.
A slow, sweet heat crawled over the tops of her cheeks as she remembered the warmth of his body against hers. He didn’t steer her or make a show of his actions. He just silently helped her, giving her a little more space in the crush of bodies, a little more room to move comfortably. His hand on her back wasn’t controlling. It was warm and gentle, a soothing reassurance.
That’s all. That’s it. But the kind consideration rocked her deep. The fact that she knew that Dogma had no expectations of her beyond her doing her job made the warm feeling settle in Yen’s core.
She tried to ignore it at first, but as the night continued, it only got worse. Relieved of the propriety of their previously formal interactions and released from expectations himself, Dogma bloomed before her, revealing his dry humor and kind heart in between performances.
A gentle man who had wrapped himself in steel to keep himself and others safe.
Yen now understood why all those women were so broken hearted over failing to secure a second date.  For one brief night, all of that was focused on her.
And she hated how much she wanted it to happen again.
Because it couldn’t. She knew that. He was her client and she promised to do right by him. Her professionalism demanded it and Dogma deserved nothing less.
Of course, that was her other problem.
It had been two weeks since their faux date and Dogma was still refusing to meet anyone for a second time, forcing Yen to sort through even more potential matches for him than before, hating that the next one she reaches out to could be the reason she will cut ties with Dogma.
Worse, she hated how the jealousy settled thick and heavy in her gut. It was pulling her down and with each profile she sent, she could feel it constricting within her.
She needed to purge it to regain some semblance of sanity. Usually, an issue of this caliber would have her trudging into Daria’s office for her out-of-the-box ideas that are usually just crazy enough to work.
But not this time. Not if it meant admitting to the soft flutter that was slowly turning to bitterness inside her.
And, her initial reaction aside, she didn’t want Dar taking any of this on her own shoulders.
Wait a minute! That’s it!
The solution she needed was staring her right in the face! She may not be able to control her little crush, but that doesn’t mean she couldn’t still uphold her commitment to her profession and to Dogma.
With renewed optimism quieting the churn of her nerves, if only a little, Yen composed one more message.
Tumblr media
Dear Dogma, In light of our lack of progress in finding you a partner, I think it prudent for us to meet face to face again. I apologize for being forward, but I’ve canceled your scheduled date tomorrow evening so we can discuss a clear solution and direction forward. Let’s meet then at the café from our first encounter. Thank you for your time, Yen
Her writing always came across more formal than she really spoke. Or maybe it was her tone that softened the words to his ears when he heard her directly.
But Dogma could tell even through the text that Yen was angry when she wrote the comm message. And he didn’t blame her.
Sitting on his bed in the barracks on Coruscant, Dogma ran a hand through his regulation-cut hair, for once uncaring how a few errant curls escaped the careful style. Ever since he realized his feelings for her, he was stuck. He was still unable to connect with any of his dates, but Yen’s next-day questioning morphed from feeling supportive to invasive, probing as if she could sense he was hiding something.
He could tell she was growing more frustrated with his non-answers.
The thought made his chest tighten uncomfortably. He never wanted to disappoint her. But he couldn’t — wouldn’t — lie to her or these other women and pull them all into his mess.
But you’ll lie to keep them out of it, he thought bitterly.
“Damn another in-person meeting?” Fives’ voice rang right in his ear.
“Kriff, Fives! Haven’t you heard it’s rude to read other people’s comms?” Dogma growled.
His brother ignored his righteous indignation. “I know finding someone who’ll accept the planet-sized stick up your ass is a tall order, but I never would have thought Yen would struggle this much.”
“Kark off, sha’buir.”
Fives’ hand came down hard on his shoulder and while Dogma knew his brother’s teasing was well-intended, he couldn’t handle the unique combination of arrogance and optimism that fueled the ARC trooper. With a shrug, he flung it off, and Fives pulled back, hands in front of him in surrender.
“Sorry, vod. Just trying to help lighten the mood.”
“Only you are used to being flattered by insults, Fives,” Tup said, no bite in his voice as he entered the barracks. “But seriously, Dogma, you look like you’ve just been assigned a suicide mission. I know this part is a lot to handle, but I think you’re thinking too hard. Yen will find someone. Trust her and the process and you’ll get through it.”
He could feel the truth bubbling up inside him, shifting his stomach uncomfortably as it rose up his throat.
“No, I won’t.”
It was a single drop of relief. Nowhere near satisfying … and enough to make him need more.
“Sure you will,” Fives assured, sincerity filling his tone despite his flippant delivery.
Tup rolled his eyes at the older trooper before sitting next to his squad mate. “He’s right, you know. Right to Love has had great success. I’m not as familiar with Yen, but I can’t imagine anyone else could have possibly helped Fives.”
“Hey!”
“Oh, go be insulted by something you didn’t say first,” Tup teased before turning back to Dogma. “But he is right. A few more dates and you’ll find someone who’s right for you.”
Dogma shook his head as it fell forward into his hands. “You don’t understand.” He felt Tup’s hand resting on his back, encouraging him without words. “I … I have found someone I connected with.”
“That’s great!” Tup’s cheer was short-lived as he saw Dogma’s grim expression didn’t budge. “But …?”
With a sigh, Dogma steeled himself against his brothers’ reaction. “But it’s Yen.”
Fives scoffed. “I know she’s tough as nails, but don’t take it personally. She’ll be pissed about the paperwork if you realized you liked a girl after you passed more than she’ll be put off by your indecision.”
“No, you nerfherder.” Dogma spat, unable to spare Fives any more patience. “It’s Yen. The person I connected with is Yen. When we went on our fake date, it … it just hit me.”
Both his brothers blinked owlishly in response, their twin expressions of surprise almost funny. But Dogma felt any tinge of humor fade the longer they stood there in silence. He dropped their gaze, head hanging in shame.
Tup’s hand moved up to his shoulder, gripping gently yet firmly to pull his brother up. “You’re saying that like it’s a bad thing.”
“Of course it’s a bad thing. I can’t tell her about it, so I’m stuck going on dates I don’t want and know will fail, and now I can feel her getting frustrated as well. I’m lying to everyone and I can’t keep it up anymore!”
“Why do you have to?” Tup asked gently.
“Yeah, no reason why you can’t just tell Yen how you feel,” Fives added. “It’s not like it’s against regulations anymore.”
“No.” Dogma shook his head firmly. “Absolutely not. She’s been nothing but kind and professional through everything. And this? This is highly unprofessional. I can’t even imagine how she’d react to a client crossing that kind of boundary with her.”
“Unless she wants you, too.”
“She doesn’t.”
“You know that for sure?”
“No, but …”
“Then it’s a good thing you’re ori’vod is an ARC! Advanced Reconnaissance Trooper, remember? I’ll do some sleuthing and –
“Not even over my dead body, Fives. I don’t want you within ten feet of this situation.”
“I have to agree with him here,” Tup shrugs softly. “This is for Dogma to sort out on his own.” He turned back to Dogma then. “But you should still tell her. You don’t know for sure. So she could return your feelings. And even if she doesn’t, then at least you won’t be stuck in limbo like this.”
The option did sound tempting, even if the shadow of Yen’s rejection chilled him to the bone.
But the thought that really frightened him was one of her saying yes. Like his confession, he could feel his self-doubt bubbling up and despite every instinct to keep it hidden, Dogma just didn’t have the fight left in him. Not in front of his brothers.
His voice was quiet, subdued as he gave words to the thoughts that polluted his mind. “But I’m defective. Why would she want someone like me when she could choose anyone else?”
“What!?”
Fives dropped to rest a knee on the bed on Dogma’s other side, his hand pulling him back and forcing him to meet his gaze.
“In what galaxy are you defective?”
“In the one where I was willing to let you get shot, where I executed a general, where I was literally almost decommissioned for being defective.”
“But you weren’t! Because you’re not!”
“I am!” The shout rang through the barracks, and even the reverberating echoes didn’t soften it. “I always have been.”
“No, Dogma, you’re not.” Tup’s hand came to rest on Dogma’s shoulder just as gently as his words had. “You’re uptight, anxious, and annoyingly strict at times. You over-analyze everything and are so obnoxious when things don’t go the way you want them to.
“You have a lot of flaws, brother, but they’re not defects.”
Before Dogma could refute anything, Fives chimed in.
“More than that, you’re also loyal to a fault. You bend over backwards for others just because it’s the right thing to do. You’re patient and kind and solid in a tight spot and I’m proud to fight beside you and call you my brother.
“You went against the regs on Umbara because the regs were wrong. They never were written for a situation where we couldn’t trust our leaders. And that was by design. The Kaminoans may have considered your actions there defective, but we don’t. We’re all here because you put an end to Krell, and that’s the only story I need to know.”
Fives moved to kneel in front of him, forcing Dogma to meet his gaze. And for once, he could see no tease or mirth at all in his brother’s eyes.
“I have a feeling Yen will see it that way, too.”
Tumblr media
This time, Yen beat him to their meeting. Back at the café where they first met, he saw her sitting at the same table. Shoulders back, chin level as she read something on her datapad. Whatever it was had her complete attention as she mindlessly caught her lower lip between her teeth.
Dogma’s heart shook his ribs. This — seeing the battle ahead and being the one who needs to start it — was worse than sitting in that cell on the Resolute after Umbara. At least there, all he had to do was wait for his fate.
But the chance for an outcome he could never have conceived of lay on the other side. And the small, selfish part of his soul he never acknowledged refused to let him leave this alone.
And if it did, his brothers wouldn’t.
So now, everything rested on how well he executed his plan. Not that it was much of one. But it was the best he could do.
With one last calming breath — that did little to actually calm him — Dogma made his way to the table, clearing his throat as he pulled out his chair to announce himself.
“Dogma!” Yen’s head popped up, surprise clear on her face as he sat. He knew his experience with things that could be considered “adorable” was close to non-existent, but there was no other way to quantify her expression. He let himself escape into that soft flutter for just a moment before reining it in.
He offered a sheepish smile in return. “Sorry, Ma- Yen. I didn’t mean to startle you.”
“No worries. It’s good to see you.” Yen’s small answering smile sent a spark of delight up the back of Dogma’s skull.
“Likewise.”
As Yen shifted in her seat, her sweet smile slipped away, and Dogma steeled himself as her professional persona took over.
“Thank you for meeting me again. I have to stay, I’m at a loss here and I don’t like it.” For once, Yen didn’t meet his gaze as she spoke, and Dogma found himself anticipating catching her eyes again. But each moment that past left him waiting.
“You’re perfectly wonderful to be around — which all your dates have said and I confirmed myself. I’d even say you’re quite the catch. And I know the matches I picked would relate well to you in their own ways. But you’ve been so tight-lipped about your experience on these dates that it’s making my job hard. I thought maybe an in-person vent session would help illuminate the situation. So what happened?”
Dogma’s gaze fell to his place setting. He liked that Yen didn’t beat around the push or press for small talk. He liked even more to hear her praise. But he didn’t expect her to rip the bacta patch off at the gate and it still stung.
He looked back up, finally able to meet Yen’s eyes and confess his sins … only for his plan, his prepared speech to fly out of his head the moment her bright, intense eyes locked on his.
Say. Something!
But as the seconds ticked by in silence, Yen’s lips pursed into what Dogma could only call a scowl only had the beast of his worry claw harder in his stomach. Bile bubbled, and it took all his strength not to retch.
“Look, I don’t want to pressure you. But you can’t expect a campaign to be successful with shoddy intel, right? Well, that’s where I am right now. Finding you a partner is my campaign, and right now I’m planning a battle strategy blind since I don’t know why past attempts didn’t pan out.”
“No! No, it’s not you,” Dogma shakes his head. Stars, he was stupid. He expected her to see everything up until this point as his fault, his failure. He should have realized she’d mistake it for the other way around.
Yen softened and reached out to rest her hand on his, and Dogma took no more than a second to thank the Force that Tup had convinced him to wear his civvies. Without his gloves, he could feel the soft warmth of her skin against his.
“Thank you for saying that. But your happiness is my goal, and I’m not seeing happy yet.” She paused then, clearly measuring her next words carefully. “Do I need to blacklist any of your dates?”
“What!?”
She looked positively shocked by his alarm, eyes wide as she sat back. “Of course. If anyoney did something inappropriate or that made you uncomfortable, then they’re not clients we can continue a relationship with. For everyone’s safety,” she explained.
“No, no they didn’t do anything like that. Please don’t kick them out.”
“OK.” Yen paused and collected herself. But hands that pulled back toward her body to press against the side of the table told a different story than her stoic exterior. Dogma focused on her hands, on that little display of nerves, feeling his own soar in step. “Well, if everything has been above board, then it’s likely that I am not the best matchmaker for you. It doesn’t happen often, but we do have procedures in place for situations like this.
The weight in his heart he had been battling since he first got Yen’s comm finally won out. He felt it sink into the pit of his stomach as his chest tightened. Felt his blood cooling in his veins.
Felt the déjà vu kick in as he recognized the moment was a precipice. Just like when he shot Krell. This moment, this choice, would change everything.
He survived a leap of faith once. Could he be lucky twice?
Yen opened her mouth to continue, but Dogma spoke over her, silencing her in a panicked rush. “What if I said I don’t want another random date?”
Her mouth hung open, confusion bleeding into her expression as her head tiled to the side, as if a different angle would reveal more to her. But her eyes remained sharp and steady on his.
“Random is sort of the nature of the game.” she said, the furrow in her brow deepening.
“Not … not if you say yes when I ask you on another date. A-A real one this time.”
The words hung heavy in the air. The following silence left him with nothing. Even her reaction left Dogma in limbo.
Yen sat across from him, looking neither joyful or repulsed. Rather her expression looked for all the galaxy like he just spoke an unknown language. Her head tilted to the side, eyebrows pinched together and her eyes bore into his, and he was sure she was looking into his very core.
It was unsettling and invasive and had every hair on his body standing at attention. But just like that first night, he wanted it. He craved it. For all the discomfort, there was a pleasure in having her focus so intensely on him. On only him.
Dogma wanted her to see into his depths and keep looking at him like he was someone worth seeing.
Finally, her voice shattered the silence, though it was softer than he had ever heard her, forcing him to lean in just to catch it. “You want to go on a date with me?”
He was sure the couple at the next table could hear him swallow, almost choking on his adrenaline as he nodded.
With a sigh, Yen leaned back into her chair before nodding as well. “Well, that changes things. Alright. I’ll need you to submit an official letter stating you’re terminating your previous agreement with Right to Love.”
And just like that, cold reality came crashing down on him. He imagined this is what being sucked into space without a kit felt like. Dogma felt the cracks forming and redoubled his efforts to keep his posture and face from crumbling.
Then, like a dunk in a bacta tank, Yen grabbed onto his hands and held them across the table.
“No! No, Dogma, not like that!” Her eyes were shining and wide with more emotion than he’d ever seen. A weakness in her façade finally showing itself and he devoured it hungrily, possessively indulging on her desperation. “We need to formally end our professional relationship before I can agree to a second date.”
“Oh,” he said as if it were the simplest thing in the galaxy. It was all he was capable of as the panic and pain and anxiety drained from his body slowly, his brain struggling to keep up and accept what was happening.
“Yeah. Oh.” Yen laughed, squeezing his hands in hers. “I think we both came here with the same goal. Though my plan was a little more, shall we say, stealthy.”
“What do you mean?”
A twisted smile on her lips had his hard twisting itself to match. “I was going to officially transfer your management to a colleague, so when she recommended me as a match, it would be more … acceptable.”
“I didn’t realize not dating was a condition of your employment. Are you going to get in trouble for tonight?”
“No, not at all. It isn’t a condition, just frowned upon. It’s … just …” She pursed her lips, clearly struggling with her words and Dogma grew even more relaxed as he watched her. “It’s an ethical sticking point for me. It wouldn’t feel right otherwise, like I’d be taking advantage of you.”
The thought that she either would ever or could ever force him into anything forced a sharp bark of laughter from him as Dogma finally felt his trepidation melt away.
It was strange, this new … lightness? Good, though. Very good. Dogma wasn’t sure how to describe the lack of fear, of feeling like it was constantly on the back foot. But he didn’t need to. He reveled in it regardless.
“Hey, don’t you laugh! I take my job seriously. And my grandmother would kill me if I didn’t uphold professional standards!”
“Don’t worry, then,” he said, still chuckling. “I’ll wait until your grandmother is comfortable with you going on a second date with a former client.”
His grin deepened as Yen’s mouth dropped open. Sitting back, she stared at him, shaking her head but never letting go of his hands. “Did … did you just tease me about having a reasonable boundary between my personal and professional lives?”
“Not at all. I think that’s perfectly reasonable. Very smart, in fact.” Emboldened, Dogma twisted his wrist to run the pad of his thumb over her knuckles. “I’m teasing you about using your grandmother to intimidate me into behaving.”
Yen laughed, a small, light thing that Dogma wanted to hear again. And again. He’d have to get that paperwork together as soon as he returned to the barracks.
“Well, that isn’t the only reason I need that letter, you know.”
“No?”
“I need it to delete your file officially. Don’t want any of my colleagues finding you a cute date to tempt you away.”
He lifted a hand to her cheek, cradling it gently. “You couldn’t even find someone who could tempt me into a second date. Your colleagues could search for a century and never find someone who could pull me away from you.”
A small hand cupped the back of his, holding it to Yen’s face as she turned to press the smallest kiss to his palm, sending a soul-deep shiver through Dogma that he didn’t even try to hide. Her smile unfurled against his skin and he realized he’d likely need to get used to that feeling with her.
“Walk me home?” she asked softly.
“It would be my honor.”

A/N: Date Night was my first planned multi-chapter story and the longest story that I have ever officially finished! While I wish I could have gotten this out sooner, I'm so thrilled I was able to close this chapter (literally!). I'll still write about Yen and Dogma in the future, but their origin AU is over.
My taglist sign up sheet is still broken (I AM SO SORRY but I'm gonna blame my husband. My tech skills are blowing on an N64 cartridge to make it work and he has an IT degree and he said he'd help me) so just message me if you want to be added.

Primed and Ready To Go
It seemed Lara was once again an unstoppable force with her new swords. Rex had eyed them silently when she returned from her walk with Primer, noting she was covered in the scent of Primer’s soap. Internally he sighed, realizing that Lara’s ways would always be something of a mystery to him. He consoled himself with the knowledge that in the end, he would be the only remaining love for her; all others would be long gone by the time they left this life together. It wasn’t a triumphant thought at all; Lara would be forced to make sacrifices along the way that would be devastating for her, and it would be Rex’s job to stand firm as her support, to be her shelter in the storm. He also knew, she would never cease loving him for Primer, and she would never act in such a way as to shame either men. He knew that whatever conspired between Lara and her commander, it would be done privately.
Lara resumed her training with the men, showing renewed gusto. She worked with the swords carefully, mostly on her own; there were no others that could fight with swords as she did, and the closest she could get was Bo sticks with Primer. The two had been at it for days in the training room, working to hone Lara’s skills once again, fine tuning the edge lost in her long period of down time. Primer had insisted on practicing with the Bo sticks until they both agreed she was close to her old prime, then they slowly reintroduced her swords to the sparring session, though she had to rein her strength in significantly to protect Primer from the blades. The day finally came when Lara reached the standard her Dragon Trinity agreed on; Primer, Volte and Boost had set the bar she would have to reach before they’d let her start back on missions. She couldn’t help but feel a little coddled at times, though she knew they did it out of concern for her.
Lara’s sparring match had been beautiful to watch. Most of the colony had gathered to see Lara and Primer fight, knowing she was going to be using her swords once again. The two bowed to each other very respectfully, then took their ready positions. Lara stood with her short sword reversed and angled to the ground, her long sword up and pointed forward over her head, legs braced fore and aft in readiness. Primer had yet to pull his Bo sticks from their double scabbard, instead watching her for a moment, pacing to her right carefully. Rather than following him, Lara watched him with her peripheral vision, listening for his opening move, sensing him with the Force. Primer nearly made a full circuit around her before lunging toward her with his Bo sticks out. Lara turned quickly and blocked him with the long sword, her eyes meeting Primer’s flatly, in the zone for the fight. Primer disengaged to try a different angle, striking back at her from the rear. Lara blocked him with a backwards block of her short sword, then spun away from him to bring her long sword around.
They danced back and forth within the fighting circle, their practiced moves almost like a ballet. There were several moments when it seemed Primer got the better of her, and she had to back out of the attack, spinning or flipping away from him to get some distance. Primer pressed the issue; she needed to be on her best if they were going to send her back into the field; the fact that her best was some version of super Jedi that they would never attain themselves notwithstanding. Eventually Primer lunged for Lara, and she waited half a beat, moved toward him quickly and rolled her body across his back as he tried to swipe at the level of her knees. He wasn’t prepared for her to make such a move in opposition, and when he tried to recover, Lara turned and did a roundhouse kick that connected with the side of his head, knocking him to the ground like a lifeless sack of flour.
Volte quickly ran to Primer’s side to check on him, ruefully grumbling at Lara as he assessed his commander. “You didn’t have to take his head off Lara.”
“I wasn’t trying to, Volte, but he didn’t move fast enough.” She leaned down to check on him herself, taking his chin in her right hand she gently turned his face to make sure he wasn’t cut or too severely bruised. She heard him take a ragged breath and saw his eyes shoot open, as if his brain was still in fight or flight mode. Lara quickly put a reassuring hand on his chest, saying “Easy Primer, easy. Give it a second before you try to get up.”
His eyes darted to hers quickly, and he took a couple of steadying breaths. “I guess this means you beat me,” he said with a rather rueful tone.
Volte chuckled beside him. “Oh, you lost hard. You did say you wanted to make sure she was back to fighting fit; I think she just gave you a resounding answer.” He reached out a hand to help Primer sit up, and placed his other behind his back to assist him if necessary.
Primer groaned a little and reached up to touch his cheek gingerly. “Guess that’s what I get for tugging the nexu’s tail, huh?”
“Sorry, Primer. It was just too juicy an opening not to take it. I’m sure we can figure out some way to make your boo-boo better,” she said with an amused, chiding tone. “Now, quit your whining and find me a mission to go on. I’m ready to get out there and DO something!”
Primer laughed a little and accepted her hand to stand, carefully. “As my General commands.”
His tone was meant to be wry, but it came out more as a resigned purr, and Volte looked at him a little quizzically. He caught a look shared between them that was positively smoldering and internally his mind clicked. Well, that was many years coming, he thought to himself. A small part of him gave a little cheer for his commander, though he said nothing and pretended he’d seen even less.
Tumblr media
Primer approached Lara with a mission for the two of them that evening at dinner. They would make a trip to a rather distant couple of systems for both information and some supplies. They’d had a few tips on the locations of some clones, and Primer felt he and Lara could be the forward reconnaissance for any rescue. Once they had better information, they could plan out a true extraction scheme, with a bigger detachment of men.
Rex overheard their conversation and casually inched closer to the back of Lara’s chair, his hand on the top of the wooden back. “Planning your first mission out, finally?,” he asked innocently.
Primer’s eyes shifted off Lara to focus on Rex behind her, a cautious expression in his dark eyes. Lara glanced up, and seeing Rex over her head she stood so she could face him.
“Yes, the triumverate has finally given me their blessing to leave my confinement here. We thought small recon trips would be best, as they’d mostly keep me off the radar and theoretically stir up no curiosity.” She watched Rex’s eyes closely, wondering what was going through his mind. He was no fool, and he knew exactly what would inevitably take place on any trip where Primer and Lara were alone. When he didn’t speak immediately, Lara extended her hand and placed it over his own on the back of the chair. “If you’re okay with it, of course.” She wasn’t trying to hurt Rex in any manner, and she hoped he didn’t feel that way.
Rex’s eyes flickered to hers and he gave her a short, bright smile. “Of course, Lara. We need you back in the field, and it will be good for you to get out, go do something other than train here and follow Danny around like a mother hen.” He reached over and squeezed her arm softly and smiled again. “Go have fun. At least I know you’ll be well looked after.” He nodded to Primer and then turned to speak to Cody, leaving Lara and Primer standing somewhat awkwardly beside each other.
Primer could see Lara’s face was troubled, thinking over Rex’s words and manner of delivery, and he could feel the worry rippling off of her. Lara sighed and quickly mumbled, “I’m gonna go walk a bit.” Turning she practically ran from the hall like she was escaping a pursuing predator.
Primer watched her go silently, then looked over at Rex, feeling his own frustration rise. He was going to have to talk to Rex; they couldn’t have Lara like this between them, each tugging on her to go one way or the other. Primer slid over to Cody and Rex, inserting himself in their conversation for a moment, then made eye contact with Rex. “If you have a minute?,” he said pointedly.
Rex met his eyes a little warily but nodded and followed Primer outside. The two walked along for a while, ending up over at the ship yard where they could have a modicum of privacy and perhaps even an excuse for speaking alone. Rex knew what Primer wanted to discuss, and was mentally bracing himself for this confrontation. He knew he was in the wrong, after what Fives and Echo had both said. But there was a possessive side to him that had developed in the time since Fives’ death that had never been there before, and the man struggled at trying to master it.
When they stopped, Primer turned to Rex quietly and folded his arms across his chest, his face thoughtful for a moment. “Rex we’ve got to come to some understanding here. Otherwise we are just causing her pain.” The Dragon commander stopped and looked away for a moment, his breath misting in the chilly night air. “I’m not trying to take her away from you. That will never be the intention or the result. And even I know this… short interlude… will end sooner than later. I know she’s expecting again, and we would never do anything that would bring shame on you or her. But you and I can’t keep playing tug of war with her.”
Rex’s head had come up sharply when Primer admitted he knew Lara was pregnant again, and a small flare of frustrated anger burned within him for a moment. If he karking knew, then why was he… never mind. As Fives and Echo both had said, she was not human, and sometimes her love and power were just too much to contain in one place. She’d sworn to never bring shame or embarrassment to Rex, and he’d sworn to love her regardless of what might or might not happen with her sworn shields. He’d affirmed that the day he supported Primer in taking that vow and Lara’s blood, and the honorable side of Rex warred with his selfish side, throwing his promises in his face. Rex pursed his lips and also crossed his arms over his chest, taking a step back as if demanding space to think. As thoughts raced through his mind, he shook his head a little, waiting to see which part of his conscience would come out on top.
Primer waited for Rex to reply; he could see the internal struggle taking place before him. A part of him understood; if he’d been lucky enough to be Lara’s destined mate, he’d probably have been jealous of her body as well. Instead, here he was asking the man for patience and even his blessing to become her lover. It was a little crazy if you looked at it objectively, but that aside, it didn’t change the facts of the situation. If Rex truly couldn’t find a way to be at peace with it, Primer and Lara would do their best to refrain. It would be painful, but they’d made it this far; they could manage.
Rex finally sighed and looked at Primer, his face a mix of emotion. “I can’t say I’m not a little conflicted, Primer. We’ve been together nearly five years, with relatively nothing coming between us, except her relationship with Fives. I guess I got used to the idea of being the only one she saw. Plus with Danny, and this new one… it’s … a little difficult. Surely, you see that?” He looked at Primer with pleading eyes, needing to see understanding in those of his rival.
“I understand.” Primer took a deep breath and looked off toward the distant hill where he assumed Lara was sitting, taking in the sounds of the sea and the breeze. “Look, if it’s going to hurt you too much, she would never agree to continuing on. We can just all go back to where we were before, and pretend nothing happened.”
Shaking his head, Rex said softly, “You know she can’t just go back now.” For a moment, he had no clear words to say, though his heart was heavy knowing what needed to come out. “I know she loves you, and has loved you for a long time. And I knew exactly what I was agreeing to when she accepted your vow and gave you hers.” He stopped, pursing his lips again, closing his eyes for a moment. “I’ll figure out how to behave, Primer, and I won’t hurt her with my attitude. Just remember what I told you before you shipped out to Ryloth. That’s what really matters to me.”
Their eyes met, so similar and yet so singular. Primer remembered what Rex had said; he’d pulled Primer aside and told him, “That woman is my life, protect her with yours.” Primer would always keep that directive in mind, a priority in his care of her. “I’ll protect her with my life, Rex. You never have to worry about that. Anything and everything I could do to save her, I would.” He gave Rex the tiniest one-sided smirk and nodded to him, turning to walk back to his hut. He had equipment to gather for his trip.
Rex watched him walk away and then started towards Lara’s hill. He felt he owed her a bit of an apology, something to clear the air. He didn’t get quite that far; Lara appeared from the darkness in front of him and stopped him. At first she didn’t meet his eyes, and she stood in a rather self protective manner, hesitant to speak. But then she raised her gaze to his and sighed softly. “I told you, I’m sorry for what I am, Rex.” Her tone was regretful and slightly bitter, as if in examining her own qualities, she’d found many lacking.
He looked at her a brief moment and then reached out to pull her to him in a tight, loving hug. “Don’t be, Lara.” He rubbed his hand up and down her back, trying to comfort her, hoping it communicated something of his guilt over making her feel this way. “I’m sorry for letting jealousy get the better of me. Fives and Echo both reminded me of my promises to you. Somewhere along the way I guess I just got it in my head that you belonged to me like a possession, rather than being your mate and support, or your partner.” Rex pushed her away gently so he could square up to her and look in her eyes. “I know, that even if you take Primer as your lover, that at the end of the day, at the end of all things, you and I will always be together. I want you to be happy, and fulfilled, and to see you shine like you used to, when you had Echo and Fives as your supports as well as me. So, I trust you Lara. Just, leave some love for me, too, is all I ask.” Rex gave her a little smile and winked at the end, seeing her involuntarily chuff at his words. She rolled her eyes and meant to look away, but Rex reached over and pressed his lips to hers, kissing her thoroughly until she gasped for air. Lara gave him a look that was equal parts exasperated and lustful, and Rex laughed as he took her hand and led her to their hut. Primer might have her to himself on this next mission, but Rex was for damn sure gonna make love to her tonight. Let her leave with her smell and the feel of her body fresh in his mind - that would make it at least more tolerable.

Lara and Primer loaded up and left early the next morning. When she settled in the co-pilot’s seat next to him, Primer glanced over with an arched eyebrow as if to say, “Alright, then?” Lara had nodded with a small smile, focusing back on the task at hand, even as Primer did. She’d seen the grin on his face, happy to have her back on board, happy to be serving alongside her again, but also excited about the possibilities.
They had a long flight ahead of them to get to the distant trading post they were aiming for. A place called Batuu; it was well known to be a shady watering hole for miscellaneous travelers of every background and persuasion. They hoped to get intel on many things, as well as information on any clones in need of help. The ship’s computer was telling them it would take at least 12 hours of hyperspace flight to get there, so they had a lot of downtime in between. The two made small talk for a long time, worked at cleaning their weapons, sharpened Lara’s blades carefully, before finally giving up and staring at each other a little sheepishly. Here they were, two grown kriffing adults, now afraid to address the mudhorn in the room. Lara met Primer’s eyes for a long moment and then grinned, glancing down at the polishing rag and whet stone in her lap, suddenly too embarrassed to keep up the look. She heard Primer shift his weight as he moved to stand, then he reached down and gently took the sword from Lara’s hand and placed it on the floor. Reaching out without looking at her directly, he took her hand and raised her off the decking, pulling her up to him easily.
Primer snugged her to his body and then raised his eyes to look into hers, seeing all of the intensity he remembered of that day in the cave. His need for her was snapping like static electricity, and he could feel it roiling off of her like heat waves as well. Leaning in Primer kissed her lips gently, almost reverently, feeling her press back in response, taking a deep breath as if she’d been holding hers for a long moment before his touch. He felt her lips open beneath his, and slid his tongue to meet hers, his mouth crushing against hers more passionately, feeling her adjust her stance so she could get more traction from the kiss. Primer suddenly reached down and scooped her up in his arms, carrying her back toward the small captain’s quarters on the ship, breaking the kiss only to make sure he wasn’t going to ram into the wall with her. Once he got past the cockpit hallway and to the door of the small cabin, he strode to the small bed and deposited her like a priceless vase on the thin mattress.
The two were in something of a hurry, too excited to take forever to use undressing as foreplay. Clothes started flying as they ripped them off and tossed them on the floor, two sets of boots clonking to the cabin surface emphatically. Lara jumped up to rip the covers down on the little bed and scooted back against the wall to afford Primer room, and he climbed in to snug himself against her tightly. Once there, their kisses became more heated, more desperate as they made out, hands roaming over each other, exploring their bodies.
Primer broke off kissing her mouth to leave a trail of kisses down her neck to her collarbone, then he shifted himself down in the bed to reach her breasts. Cupping one softly in his rough hands, he ran his thumb thoughtfully over the nipple, watching it stiffen and rise. His eyes were dark with desire, but still full of simple fascination at the movement of the bud to his touch. He leaned forward and carefully took it into his mouth, running his tongue over the slightly pebbled surface, then sucking at it gently. His reward was hearing Lara’s soft gasp, feeling her body respond by arching into him, pulling his head towards her in a signal for more. Primer softly caressed and kneaded her flesh, lavishing both soft mounds with attention and love, before raising up on all fours and slowly making his way down her body, kissing her deliciously all the while.
Lara’s shining blue eyes followed his progress over her mostly flat belly. Primer kept his eyes locked on hers as he made his way lower; when he got to the level of her knees, he gently cupped his hand around the back of one and opened her legs for him, staring reverently at the center of her arousal without a word. He leaned forward and kissed her softly, almost teasingly, as he made his way up the inside of her thigh, his breath misting over her heated sex as he took in her scent.
“All those years following you around in the dirt and mud and blood, I never really gave it much thought how beautiful you would look in my bed, open for me like this. You’re so wet for me, you smell so good, and… it’s you, finally you. Not some dream or half imagined fantasy.” Primer looked up at her, his expression a little desperate for some understanding from her, to see she knew what he meant about wanting her. Lara smiled and reached her hand down to him, placing it on the side of his face lightly. Primer closed his eyes at the touch and then dipped his head, reaching out to touch his tongue to her warm, wet center. He heard her moan softly at the feel of him lapping at her folds, at his gentle sucking of her sensitive nub. He buried his face in her gently, fucking her with his tongue, drinking in her taste, his nose pressed to her clit as he worked. Lara sighed and replied to his actions with soft moans, her body responding to him as she pressed herself to him for more pressure, and ran her fingers through his hair. Primer placed his hands under her hips to angle her more upwards, lifting her to his face as he made love to her. He brought one hand around and gently inserted a finger into her, reaching for the spongy node that he knew would bring her to her climax. He slowly added another finger, crooking them inside of her to get just the right contact, as her breathing stuttered with pleasure. “Can you come for me, Lara? Will you come on my fingers, as I kiss you here?”
Lara’s eyes opened like a cat’s, slits of blue shining over her breasts as her chest rose and fell with her increased respiratory rate. She nodded quickly, her voice husky with arousal, “Yes. Make me come, Primer. I want you to feel me.”
Primer bent to his work, rubbing small tight circles around her clit, suckling at it, pulling gently with his mouth and tongue as he pressed at her G spot and thrust his fingers inside of her. In his mind he couldn’t wait to do the same with his cock; he was already dripping with his own arousal and could feel the snug fit of her already. He watched as Lara’s back arched, as she neared her first climax, and he placed one hand over her belly, then slowly glided it over her breasts, squeezing and caressing them. He felt her hand slide over his, and she laced her fingers between his own, gasping softly and then crying out, her orgasm pulsing over his fingers, the contractions of her body palpable and real. Primer buried his face in her, sucking at her center once more as she finished, like a final soft kiss. He removed his fingers from her, his other hand still laced with hers, and he gently, thoughtfully licked her taste from his now somewhat shaky right hand. Mmm, he thought softly. She tasted so good, he didn’t want to forget it.
He quickly wiped his mouth and goatee on his discarded shirt, and moved back up her body to lay next to her, pulling her in close. Lara looked over to him, and he met her gaze with a kiss, their tongues meeting in a passionate dance. She could feel his stiff, thick cock against her thigh, and knew what he wanted; she wanted it as well. She could already feel the sensation of him filling her up with his cock, the delicious stretch and feeling of him within her playing across the memory of her mind. Lara reached over and tugged at him, asking him to mount her silently as they maintained their kiss. Primer moved his weight over her, then let it down carefully, resting between her legs. The tip of his cock brushed against her wet entrance and he sighed softly, anticipating his first thrust. He reached back to guide himself in, and pushed forward gently, seating himself completely within her. He saw her pupils widen with arousal at the feel of him entering her, and he rocked his head back slightly in pleasure at the sensation of her snugly holding him.
Primer reached down and kissed her softly, holding her body to him lovingly. He raised himself up with his hands on either side of her head and made his first thrust, pulling back slowly and then pushing forward strategically, his senses taking in the feel of her tight walls around him as her body moved with his motion. He continued to give her himself slowly, calculatedly, wanting to feel every centimeter of contact, even as he saw her arching beneath him, pressing her body to his. Lara moved her hips to meet Primer’s, guaranteeing just the right amount of contact with his pubic bone to her clit, and he gave her an extra push at the end of each thrust to make sure she felt him.
Lara reached her hands up to either side of his face, then pulled him down for a kiss as he rode her, his speed picking up and the force of his thrusts getting harder. Her hands roamed down his chest to either side of his tight butt and she squeezed both cheeks, pulling his hips to hers, asking for him to fuck her even harder, go as deep as he could. Primer was all too willing. He sped up, arching his back some and changing the angle of his thrusts until he could feel the surge building up within him. “I’m about to come Lara, are you going to come with me?” His voice came out somewhat strangled, more husky than his normal tones. He saw her nod, moving herself against him, working to meld their bodies to each other. Primer pulled her close and kissed her hard, the feeling of his ecstasy suddenly spilling over in a warm jet of hot white ropes within her. He felt her cry out, rather than heard really, as his own cries filled the air, and her body pulsed and squeezed around him with her climax.
He collapsed on her carefully, making sure she could breathe with his weight on her, and rested his head on her chest. He could feel her heart beating beneath his ear, hear the racing pulse within her as she worked to catch her breath. Her arms came around him, holding her to him lovingly, and she started to run one hand through his hair, distantly feeling the aftershocks of their orgasms run through their bodies. He lay there with her, still inside of her until he softened, then he moved to snuggle up to her side against the wall of the cabin, pulling her to him tightly. There was no need to speak. Their lovemaking had said everything they’d neglected to over the years. The two held each other, the only sounds the beat of their hearts as they rested together.

Batuu was an intriguing place. The tight streets and dark alleys teemed with people, most with their faces covered in some kind of hood or hat to hide their features. Over the general murmur of the crowd were the sounds of machinery, the hot furnaces hissing and music pouring from the doorways of some restaurants and shops. People didn’t make eye contact for the most part, heads down and moving from place to place in anonymity. The Empire had only been in power for a short couple of years, but already people were cautious of what they said and to whom- you never knew who was a spy or snitch.
Lara and Primer moved among the crowd smoothly, both working hard to blend in. Neither of them were what you would call bland looking - with Lara’s beauty and extravagant mane of curly hair, and Primer’s dark handsome looks, people would notice them easily. Both wore fairly nondescript outfits - both in dark BDUs with their black combat boots, warm dark colored ponchos over similarly dark long sleeve shirts, their hoods up and pulled well forward to hide their features. It was commonplace now for people to go armed throughout their day to day lives, so both wore drop holsters on their right thighs with DC 17 blasters; the only blade Lara carried was her dagger on her hip, not readily visible under the poncho’s length. She did, however, carry her quarterstaff, which was also something of a common sight among the many peoples before them; they were useful as walking sticks and to keep pick pocketing urchins away.
The two had been on Batuu for three cycles now, and had made some contacts with good intel on the whereabouts of a few escaped clones looking for help. They’d also picked up small tidbits of information about the Empire’s movements here and there, mostly by eavesdropping while leaning on the bar at the local cantinas. More and more clones were disappearing - not being retired, but going missing from the ranks. People were uncertain if they were simply all going AWOL or if there were more sinister forces at work. There was rumor of surviving Jedi being seen here and there in some of the other seedy cities of the galaxy; Lara paid close attention to that. A few also spoke of a new type of Imperial hunter, their sole purpose the pursuit and capture of the remaining Jedi when found. Inquisitors, she heard whispered, as if afraid to say the word aloud. They were said to serve some high placed Sith Lord, the right hand of the Emperor, and they were supposedly able to wield the Force like the Jedi. These Inquisitors carried double bladed lightsabers, always red, the color of hate, and pain, and suffering.
Lara and Primer traded long looks across their table as they listened to the chatter of the bar around them. They finished their drinks and nodded to each other, preparing to leave, when Lara heard a last comment from the person in the booth behind them. The person had turned their head to the side, and spoke in such as way as she was rising, as if to make sure Lara heard their words; they were speaking directly to her. “There’s an Inquisitor here, as a matter of fact. Arrived last night, following the trail of some Jedi. They’ve been sniffing around all the shops and cantinas, asking if anyone has seen a person matching that description.”
His words stopped Lara and she looked back, making eye contact with the stranger. The face was not familiar to her, but she could feel - he was Force sensitive. He spoke to her mind wordlessly, “Watch your back, friend.” Lara nodded to him once, an acknowledgment of his message and warning, then turned to follow Primer out the door.
“What was that about?,” Primer asked her lowly.
“He was warning me. The Inquisitor that landed here last night isn’t out for me, but his presence definitely puts us at risk.”
Primer nodded thoughtfully at Lara’s words, and kept his eyes open for anything obvious. “Well, we have plenty of good information already, we could just head back to Nidhogg now.”
“We have that meeting to make - the guy seemed like he might actually have a location to share on a clone needing extraction. It’s just another hour, then we can leave.” Lara hoped the guy wasn’t full of bantha poodoo; if they were able to get a firm destination out of him, they could send a team to get the clone. One less person in need of rescue.
Primer shot her a dark look but acquiesced. She was right; it was just a little longer. Surely they could keep out of sight that long. He was tense; watching over Lara made him far more paranoid than he used to be. Of course, back then she wasn’t in hiding, and neither was he. Now, his face would be immediately recognized, and while the bulk of the people on Batuu wouldn’t care that he was clone outside of it being an interesting tidbit, there would undoubtedly be someone willing to sell that information to the highest bidder. A sighting of Lara would be tantamount to finding a Jedi in the open with their lightsaber out. When he’d thought about taking her on missions, it had been more of an elementary consideration, but now that he was here with her, he worried for her safety. Unfortunately, his concern was founded in a reality made all too clear.
The two met with their informant, who did indeed give them a location on a fugitive clone. Lara paid the man well - not so well that it would garner attention, but enough so that he might be tempted to fork over more information in the future. She and Primer turned to leave, ready to head to their ship and depart Batuu completely. They didn’t get far down the street before they heard a sinister, electronically modulated voice command them to halt.
Lara looked at Primer with startled blue eyes, then turned to look back at the speaker. The figure before them was dressed in all black, their suit partially armored. They wore a helmet that covered their features, but Lara could sense this person was experienced with using the Force, and that their intention was not one of friendly banter. So this was an Inquisitor, Lara thought to herself dryly. There was no conflict in the person’s soul; they were perfectly happy bringing pain and suffering to anyone that stood in their way. If they found a Jedi and had to fight them, even kill them, so much the better - no need to worry about transporting a prisoner if they died during capture.
The Inquisitor sized up the two hooded people standing before him. He’d been tipped off by a low level informant that this woman might be a Jedi in hiding. There was just something suspicious about her that got everyone’s attention. The Inquisitor hadn’t been sent here for a woman - he’d actually been dispatched to find a male suspected of being Force sensitive, but he would investigate this lead. The woman standing before him was tall for a female, lithe and yet moved with a steady power, an assurance, that only a studied warrior might possess. Her companion was similarly tall and well built, obviously muscled and powerful beneath the bulky clothes he wore to obscure his identity. One of them was actually quite powerful in the Force, the surprising strength of their aura alerting him when they walked into the street. His voice spoke from behind the protective face of his helmet, “Drop your hoods, show me your faces and put your hands up, slowly.”
Lara stared back at the man in black silently, unmoving. She was gripping her staff carefully, already many steps ahead and planning her opening strikes to this fight that she knew was coming. Primer glanced over at her and saw her nod slightly, and he did as ordered, slowly pulling his hood back and bringing his hands up, but not making it above his shoulders; he was waiting for Lara to make her move. A clone. A small murmur went through the crowd at seeing Primer’s face. The Inquisitor repeated his order again, seeing that she hadn’t complied. This time he raised his voice to a loud snarl, and watched with some satisfaction as her left hand moved to pull her hood back. Lara dipped her head a bit as the hood fell back, so that her face wasn’t readily visible at first, then she looked up slowly to face the Inquisitor fully. A loud gasp went through the crowd then - many of them readily recognized her. Lara held her head high, still gripping her staff, as a small breeze lifted a few curls around her face, and she stared the Inquisitor down. He slowly reached back to pull his weapon off a mount on his back, lighting his dual saber in a rather emphatic manner.
The street went silent at that point. Lara waited for the man to make his next move, and when he lunged at her with his saber raised, Primer pulled his blaster and stepped back, to give Lara room. He would watch her back, to make sure no storm troopers showed up as reinforcements. Lara brought up her staff and met the light saber with a ringing clang. The Inquisitor stopped in surprise - the plasma blade of a light saber could cut through anything but beskar. How was this woman blocking him with a simple staff? Lara smiled at him nastily over their locked weapons, and then stepped one foot back, pulled her staff back and whirled, moving under his strike seamlessly. She got two good blows in on the man’s shoulder and back, hearing him grunt in pain and surprise.
Lara circled him like a tigress, her eyes watching him, waiting for an opening. The Inquisitor made his saber spin like a helicopter blade and again lunged for her, seeing her momentary surprise at this new trick. Lara stepped away from him, dancing back and watching the spin rate, calculating when would be the right time to stab the end of her staff into the rotation. She figured it would be like poking a stick in a bike wheel, and this goon wouldn’t be expecting it. The man pursued her, snarling at her to stand and fight, quit running from him, quit acting like a cowardly Jedi. The next time he came after her, Lara spun towards him rather than away and brought the end of her staff in like the strike of a sword, blocking his spinning blades so suddenly it nearly broke the man’s wrists. He cried out and dropped his saber, jumping back and grabbing his right arm, and he missed seeing Lara’s spin kick that brought her boot up to his chest, knocking him back three feet. He weakly tried to defend himself against her as she threw her staff in the air like a baton twirler, their fight becoming a short hand to hand combat until Lara suddenly stopped, stood straight, reached her right hand into the air and caught the staff on its descent, spun at the last and brought the end of the reinforced Vala-forged steel to the side of the Inquisitor’s head. It made a sickening, ringing crack against his helmet, which split over his ear, and the man dropped like a brick to the ground, unconscious.
Lara gave him only the briefest glance before Primer grabbed her hand and shouted “Come on!” The two ran through the crowded streets back to their ship, streaked aboard and got it off the ground in record time. They didn’t relax until they got the ship into hyperspace, knowing they would have to make two or three jumps to cover their tracks thoroughly. Lara also did a methodical, systematic search of the ship to make sure there were no tracking devices aboard. When she came back to the cock pit and sat in her seat, she gave a long, careful sigh and met Primer’s eyes.
“Well, I guess that was a slightly more exciting first trip than you’d planned on,” she said dryly.
“I think you could safely say that, General, yes.” The look he gave her spoke volumes about the inevitable annoyance he would have to fend off from Boost and Volte when they made it back and he told people Lara had not only been outed, but to an Imperial Jedi hunter. Volte, Boost, Rex and Cody were all going to be pissed.
“It’s not your fault, Primer. We hadn’t even heard of those Inquisitors before; it was just bad luck and bad timing. And with any luck that rube won’t even remember anything if I hit him hard enough.” She reached over and put her hand on his knee. “I’m sorry - it was run or fight, and we were going to get pursued if we ran. Better that he was alone and I was able to knock him out. We made a clean escape. And I can’t hide forever, Primer.” She eyed him seriously. “You know that’s not in my nature.”
Primer stared at her mutely and then reached up to rub his eyes with his other hand tiredly, sighing. “I know, General. I guess I was just hoping for better luck.” He stood, stretched and then faced her with a smirk on his face and mischief in his eyes. Crossing his arms over his chest he smiled softly and said, “You know watching you fight like that is a massive turn on? Always has been.”
Lara smiled up at him for a minute, her eyes dancing with mirth. “Has it now?”
He reached down and took her hand, tugging at it to get her to stand. “Always has been. Since the first day we sparred. You have no idea how hard it’s been, having to hide it for so many years.”
“So what you’re sayin is, watching me fight makes things ‘hard’ on you, in more ways than one?” She smiled rather smugly as she stood slowly in front of him.
Primer chuckled softly, pulling her to him, taking her hand and guiding it to the front of his pants. “You tell me, General.” It was his time to grin at her, his eyes sparkling with a naughty gleam.
“Wow,” she said, nodding to herself. “I’ll admit, it must have been difficult, sporting that around under armor during all those battles. However did you walk without looking bowlegged?” He snorted at that point, pulling her in to kiss her mouth softly. But she wasn’t quite done yet; with her mouth pressed to him she suddenly said, “I mean, that must have been like smuggling a foot long burrito in behind that codpiece, and I am just mystified that you were able to walk straight!”
Primer pulled back, unable to keep a straight face any longer, laughing at her as she continued to natter on. “Must have felt like someone stuffed a whole ciabatta loaf in your pants. Like trying to move around with a bacon bazooka between your legs.” Primer rolled his eyes and took a breath, then worked at trying to shut her up with a kiss. Lara pulled away, still trying to get in a good euphemism, her smile and giggling making it difficult to continue. He finally was able to hold her still and get his lips on hers, and felt her laugh once more as he kissed her, hard.
He didn’t pull away for a long time, and when he did, he growled, “Are you finished, or is there more?”
“Oh you know there’s always more…” Lara started with a smirk.
“Well, in that case there’s duct tape,” Primer said with a snort, turning to grab a roll in a handy compartment behind them. Lara laughed outright, grabbing him with both of her hands and pulling herself to him for a real kiss. The two stood, Lara clutching her commander tightly as he kissed her back, still holding onto the roll of gray tape.
When she pulled away from him finally, he carefully put the roll back where it came from, but froze when she said, “You know what they say about duct tape right?”
Primer straightened and looked at her with a raised eyebrow. “What do they say?”
“Silence is golden, duct tape is silver, but making your girl scream your name during sex is whatever damn color of the rainbow you’d like it to be.” Lara’s arched brows made her look especially fetching, as Primer studied her with his mouth open, working at an appropriate response.
“Fair enough. Let’s go see how many colors I can squeeze out of you,” he said with a roguish grin. He grabbed her by her shoulders, turned her to face the hallway and playfully frogmarched her to the captain’s quarters, Lara giggling the entire way.

Lara and Primer ended up taking a side trip to Earth, to spend a little time alone and stock up on some supplies. Primer helped with farm chores while Lara taught him how to care for horses, how many systems on her home planet worked like driving vehicles, traffic patterns, the life of a hospital worker, television. He loved their moments of down time, when they would simply snuggle on her cushy couch while watching TV shows or movies.
One day they were working in her barn, picking stalls for manure while the pregnant mares shifted out of their way. Seemingly out of the blue, Lara asked, "Primer, you dated here and there during the war. Why didn't you keep one of those pretty girls as your own? You more or less had the pick of the herd - why did you waste yourself on holding a torch for me?" Lara kept working, sending him only a quick glance, though she saw his head come up in surprise, and Primer stood up, leaning slightly on his manure scoop.
The clone didn't answer for a long time, watching her carefully sifting through the shavings, trying to look bland. Finally he said, "You know what a big problem of yours is, Lara?" He saw her stop and turn to watch him fully. "You spent so much time pushing people away, determined to live your life alone out of some misplaced bitterness and 'honor' for the memory of your daughter, that you no longer feel yourself worthy or deserving of love." He saw her eyes widen and her jaw drop slightly, hearing his psychoanalysis. "You're right - I could have held onto any of those girls I dated. And for a while, I had a thing going with a really pretty, kind Twi'lek." He paused and his gaze sharpened a little, one eyebrow cocking up. "But they all had the same missing element - they weren't you." Primer shook his head a little looking at Lara; he wished she could see the feelings in his heart for her, understand fully what he was saying.
"After following you around for so long, watching you so closely, always having your back, I came to realize that aside from being pretty, you actually CARED. You cared about the people you fought for, fought with. Even though you wouldn't admit it even under torture, you secretly liked Mace Windu and would have fought for him if he needed it." He saw her expression change to one of laughing disbelief, and he laughed softly. "You talk a big game, Lara, but I know, and could see, the real you. Maybe your biggest problem isn't that you feel unworthy. Maybe it's that you care too much, love too hard." Primer stepped into the stall with her, leaning his scoop against the door so his hands were free. He reached out and grasped her arms softly. "I think one of the reasons you pushed people away for so long was really because you were afraid of what you might do if you loved and lost again."
Lara stared into Primer's eyes, unable to form words. "I love you, and I will love you, for the rest of my life, and forever. I CHOSE to love you. When you finally admitted to yourself that you were capable of loving me back physically, it was the happiest day of my life." He shook her the tiniest fraction to emphasize his feelings. "You are completely worthy of that love, both mine and Rex's. ... And Echo." She smirked a little and snickered at his little addition. "You deserve all we have to give you."
"But I can't give you all YOU deserve, Primer. I can't ever give you kids, a legacy. I can't give you singular love." Lara stopped, grasping at speech, even as she saw Primer shaking his head in disagreement.
"Okay for one thing, while kids would have been nice I'll admit, I think we both know that baby you're carrying is as much mine as Rex's." Her jaw shut with a surprised snap. "He'll probably be the spitting image of Rex, but he'll have my personality. And as for the other, it IS singular, Lara. You love me differently than you do Rex, because we aren't the same men. I don't think that was ever a question." Primer leaned down and kissed her, the atmosphere heating up to a simmer, then a smolder. He pulled away after a minute and looked her sharply in the eyes. "So, no more about the women in my past, okay? There is only you for me, and that is MY choice, and my wish." He crooked a finger under her chin to lift her face up slightly so he could focus on her again, then leaned in for more kisses. After a moment, he felt the hard, slim shape of the handle of her scoop pressed into his chest and pulled back, a confused expression on his face.
"Scoop poop first, hot sexy love later," she said with an impish smirk.
"Seriously? I've been professing my love for you and you'd rather scoop horse shit than make love to me?" Primer sounded quite indignant.
"Rutting in pine shavings ain't all you think it is, I promise," she said with a laugh.
"There is a bed upstairs, Lara." Facts stated, he stared back at her, mostly confidant she would agree to his plan.
"I never said barn chores were fun. How about this: finish up here and then I'll race you to the house, and if you win, you can do whatever you want." Her eyes sparkled with mirth and mischief.
Primer was silent for a moment, thinking on her proposition. He quirked one eyebrow up, then grinned at her playfully. "What EVER I want?" She nodded, her smile growing wider. Cocking his head to the side a little and narrowing his eyes as if looking for the hidden agenda, he finally decided she was serious and replied, "I'll take that deal. You better just get prepared mentally, because I'm gonna win." He stuck his hand out to shake on it and said, "Deal?"
Lara took his hand and gave it a firm pump with a laugh. "DEAL."

Danny had quickly become the ruling princess to the people of Nidhogg. She was curious, smart, playful and beautiful, and her big blue eyes endeared her to everyone, even when she was due a little (or a lottle) redirection for whatever naughty thing she got caught doing. Rex did his best to keep up the sense of orderly discipline with her, but frequently couldn't help himself when she gave him a pitiful, contrite look or her bright little smile; it melted his heart into a puddle of useless goo and he ended up laughing and hugging her rather than scolding. The child was destined to be a great warrior, so she tended to hang out with the clones, much to the chagrin of the women of the colony. Suu Lawquane frequently watched the little girl so Lara and Rex could work, and it was always a battle to get her to spend any time with Shaeeah and Jek, rather than Cut in the field. Danny was also to be found in Boost's shadow, following him from task to task, watching his work like a little hawk. While she was a very young girl, she was blessed (or cursed) with advanced aging like the men. Danny was nearly two years old now, putting her more in the range of a preschool child on Earth, precocious and too smart for her own good.
Boost and Volte took the girl under their wing when she appeared in their wake, teaching her small skills here and there, conversing with her in a serious manner as if she were a tiny adult. The child drank up their attention like it was the very breath of life. Danny loved her 'Uncles' as Rex and Lara had taken to calling the clones, though she definitely had her favorites. The sprite of a girl loved Echo and Primer above and beyond any other, because her mother loved them as well, and the two were more likely to pamper the girl than Boost or Volte, who would try to give her small jobs or ask hard questions. She lived a very charmed life on Nidhogg, ruling as a small, far more tyrannical version of Lara.
When Lara and Primer returned from their recon mission trip to Earth for resupply, they were greeted by a small voice over the comm channel. Lara had been resting back in the copilot's seat, singing along to her music while Primer flew the ship, when she heard the little voice of Danny hail them over the radio. The two pilots traded bemused looks, wondering which clone had let her play with the comms. "Nidhogg base to un'dentified ship, say your name... please...now!," they heard, followed by a little giggle and the sound of Boost in the background murmuring further instructions. "Mommy say your ship name!," they heard the second time, attended by more giggles and a tired sigh from her coach in the background. Lara and Primer chuckled, as Lara picked reached over to hit the comm button to respond.
"This is the Dragon Rider and Dragon Prime, returning to Nidhogg base, over. I sure missed you little girl," Lara said with a smile.
"I missed you too, Mommy!," Danny fairly shouted in reply over the comm.
"Give the comm back to Uncle Boost silly girl. I'll be there in about 10 minutes, over." Lara smiled and sat back in her seat, looking over at Primer with a happy grin.
"Okay!," was the happy reply from Nidhogg base.
Primer chuckled softly. “That girl is going to be a handful as she grows. Wonder how she will take to a sibling?”
“Lord knows. One hopes they’ll be best friends, since they’ll have little choice in long term friends,” Lara said, her voice trailing off as she took in the scope of such a statement. Her children would live after her as her replacements, the Guardian of the Balance and Guide of Souls. Lara hoped her next child would be kind, loving and patient; their role in life would be a bittersweet one, having to lead souls to Valinor. Not all wanted to follow, still tied by emotion and love to their former lives. Grace under such circumstances was necessary. She had every faith that Danny would be an excellent Guardian of the Balance, after training and education. She had a loving family and a strong community to grow into.
They landed the small freighter in the ship yard on the outskirts of the town, and Lara eagerly ran through the hold of the ship to the ramp while Primer finished up shutting systems down. As soon as the ramp was down Lara saw Rex standing with a smile, straining to keep a grip on Danny’s little hand as she wiggled and danced, wanting to run to her mother. He let her go one Lara was on firm ground and laughed as he heard Danny’s squeal of “Mommyyyyyyy!” Lara gracefully caught the rambunctious little girl in her arms and hugged her tightly, laughing herself as Danny showered her with kisses and hugs. Primer came down the gang plank of the ship wearing an indulgent smile at the scene before him, then looked to Rex, giving him a nod of hello.
“Mission go okay?,” Rex asked blandly.
“Fairly well. There was one small blip we need to discuss, but other than that we got some good intel and supplies.” Primer grunted a bit, his weight shifting forward as Danny practically tackled his right leg from behind.
“Unca Prima!,” she shouted excitedly, then backed off and reached her hands up in a grabby motion, wanting to be picked up. Primer smiled and leaned down for her, sweeping her up into his arms.
“What can Uncle Primer do for his princess today?,” he asked with a bright grin.
“Piggy back me!,” she demanded. Lara snorted in laughter while Rex watched with an easy smirk on his face.
“Piggy back you? Have you been good enough for a piggy back? Should I ask Uncle Volte and Uncle Boost if you’ve been a good little princess and deserve a piggy back ride?” Her little blonde brows came together in severe frown.
“I’m the pwincess, you have to do what I say!,” she commanded indignantly, her face looking even more thundery when all the adults laughed.
“Hear that Primer- you’re in trouble now!,” Lara said with a giggle.
“I can see that,” he said dryly. “My princess, you’re right, I’m sorry.” Primer shifted Danny around so she could climb onto his back and flashed Rex and Lara a bright, entertained smile as he moved off with the little girl as ordered.
“Hope she doesn’t have to resort to spurs!,” Lara called out with a laugh.
“That’s just her mother!,” he shot back over his shoulder. Lara laughed even louder at that, while Rex smiled a little blandly. She turned to Rex, only the tiniest hint of darkness passing over her face at seeing his rather forced expression.
“So, what happened on the trip? Primer made it sound like there was some trouble,” Rex asked quietly.
“Ran into this new type of Jedi hunter called an ‘Inquisitor’. He wasn’t after me specifically, rather he was after a suspected force sensitive man on Batuu. But he found us regardless. Complications arose, ensued and were overcome, the end.” Lara shrugged as if it was no big deal.
“Were you seen?,” Rex asked, full of concern.
“It was hard to fight without being seen, Rex. Recognized? Probably. And I’m sure they knew Primer was a clone, but probably not which clone.” Lara stopped and squared up to Rex. “Can’t hide forever, you know. It was bound to happen sometime.”
Rex sighed, looking at her with a disappointed, troubled expression. “Yes but it would have been better if you’d stayed hidden a bit longer.” He reached out and pulled her body to his, gliding one hand over her thick mane of curls as he rested his forehead against hers. “You were safe so long as they thought you were dead. Now they’re going to be hunting for you again, and with you pregnant… it’s not information that makes me very happy,” he murmured softly.
Lara sighed, leaning into the comfort of his arms. “I know, my love. It would have been better. But I’m not a queen bee that just sits around and has her minions do for her.” Lara smiled and leaned back slightly. “Besides if all I did was sit on my butt while y’all did all the work, my ass would be so wide you wouldn’t like me anymore.”
“That’s bantha shit, Lara. I’ll never not want you, regardless of how wide it gets.” He gave her his famous little one sided smirk and his eyes sparkled as he said “Besides, it gives me more to hold onto…” He winked at her as she rolled her eyes and pushed him playfully. Rex wasn’t done teasing though, and he pulled her back to him laughing as he said, “That juicy baby booty sure is sexy!” Lara scoffed at him and jerked her hands away, shooting him a dirty, albeit playful, look.
“You are not helping your case, Captain,” she said with a falsely stern voice.
“Oh, you still love me regardless.” He threw his arms around her neck and murmured in her ear, “I bet Primer likes it too. Maybe I should let him vote.”
“Keep taunting me like that and I’ll invite him over tonight so you can ask him personally.” She thought she was throwing down the gauntlet and he would stop, but had to choke back a surprised gasp at his response.
“Maybe I’ll invite him myself. He can give me tips and we can critique each other’s performance.” Rex said it in a low, silky tone, as if the idea truly intrigued him. Lara stood staring at him in surprise, her mouth open slightly as if too shocked to reply. Rex left it at that, giving her plenty of food for thought about whether he meant it or not.
Lara shook her head in disbelief, turning to head into the town. “Can’t even get to my own house before you start propositioning me with naughty ideas.”
“Is that an idea you might… entertain?” Rex was trying to keep his tone light and blandly interested, but Lara could tell he was intrigued and curious.
Lara kept walking, though she was silent, thinking over Rex's suggestive ask. Was that something she would entertain? She'd never had such a... creative bedroom experience, though she had had that one dream about Rex and Fives... Lara coughed a little obviously and gave Rex a look full of side eye. "I, um, am not sure..." She saw Rex's face fall a little and rushed to finish. "...Because I've never been quite so adventurous before. Maybe we could work something out," she said with a shy grin. She saw Rex smile in response. "Though, I think that would need to be somewhere more private than our place here."
"Of course," Rex agreed. They walked on to the great hall, both a little rosier in the cheeks, pondering the idea of a new experience to try.
Tumblr media
Later, Lara was sitting in her normal spot, chatting loosely with Cody, when Primer suddenly appeared at her side. He bent to speak into her ear. “If you have a second, can we talk in private?”
Lara looked back at him slightly concerned, and saw that he wore a strange expression on his rugged, handsome face. Nodding, Lara excused herself and followed him out the door of the great hall into the darkness of the shadows beside the building’s tall sides. “What’s wrong?,” she asked immediately.
Primer let them get further into darkness, making sure no one was in ear shot, and turned to face her. “Rex just came to me with an…interesting request.” He saw Lara’s face go white, then flush with blood so darkly he could see it even in the darkness. “Did you know about this?,” he asked somewhat incredulously.
“He…might have mentioned it, but I didn’t think he was actually serious. I thought it was a tease!” Primer was standing in the normal pose he adopted when his general was acting in a trying manner, with his arms crossed over his chest, his weight resting on one foot. He cocked one eyebrow at her as if to say, ‘Clearly not a tease.’
“Is that something you actually…want?,” he asked carefully. He watched her as passively as he could, almost holding his breath for her answer.
“I…,” Lara stumbled. “I don’t know… it’s not something I’ve ever tried before. Have you?,” she suddenly added, wondering if she could defer to Primer by default.
“No, I haven’t,” he said flatly. He watched her a moment longer and then leaned in to speak next to ear. “But I would do anything you wanted, to give you pleasure, even if it came to fucking you in front of him, or with him.” His voice was silky smooth and gave her chills, her breath catching in her chest as she stared into his rich brown eyes. “But you have to ask,” he added carefully.
Lara stood there like a deer in the headlights, realizing this was suddenly being thrust into her hands. Did she want them in the same room with her? Did she want to feel them making love to her at the same time? She pressed back against the wall of the great hall, her fingers digging into the texture of the wooden beams. “I…think…it could be a very interesting experience,” she said haltingly.
Primer shook his head. “Not good enough. For something this big, I need to hear you say it.”
“I want…,” she said, feeling her heart about to explode at its current racing pace, “I want you both.” She couldn’t squeeze anymore words out, but she saw Primer take a slight step back and straighten, then nod to himself.
He pulled his comm link off his hip and keyed it up, murmuring “It’s a go,” quickly into the mic. Then he stepped forward and kissed Lara softly, one hand gripping her shoulder tenderly. “This isn’t necessary, and you can call it off at any time,” he said.
“Primer, do you want to do this? I hope Rex hasn’t…twisted your arm or anything,” Lara said quickly.
“No Ner Kar’ta, he’s not twisting anything. As I said, I’ll do anything to give you pleasure. And I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t intrigued, myself.” Primer gave her a mischievous little smirk and stepped away, gesturing with his head for her to follow him. “Rex has Danny squared away, all we need is for you to portal us there.”
Lara stumbled along behind, a feeling of being separated from reality floating around her. This was well out of her normal imagination and comfort zone, but she recalled the incredibly adventurous dream she’d had one day, featuring Fives and Rex. And she had to admit to herself, a large part of her was curious - she wanted to know what it was like, how it felt, to have the two men she loved so much do so as a team.
Primer escorted her to the large hut that was her home, opening the door and allowing her to enter before him. She saw Rex standing in the center of the room, as if he'd been waiting for them. He stepped over to Lara and said, "Danny is staying with Cut and Suu tonight; I told them we needed to make a short trip to Earth for some specific supplies.” Lara gave Rex a brave little smile, but she could feel it was a rather mixed, nervous look, reflecting the one on his own face. Rex reached out to grasp her shoulders and looked her in the eye. "You can say no at any point of this, Lara. You don't have to feel compelled or pressured."
Lara swallowed and smiled back, glancing over to Primer for a second and then back to Rex. "It's okay. I think it's worth exploring. I know you will both keep me safe." The two men nodded in agreement; they definitely would. Lara had the utmost faith in them. She opened a portal before them and stepped in, followed by Rex and Primer. They stepped into her Earthen home’s kitchen, and all kind of stared at each other sheepishly.
Primer took a breath and gave a little laugh. “This is awkward,” he said with a smile. He reached over and took Lara’s hand, pulling her to himself for a hug. He leaned down and kissed her very tenderly, then looked up at Rex. “Come over here and kiss our girl, Rex. See how amazing she is.” Looking back at Lara he said, “We are going to make you feel so good. Rex and I are going to take good care of you,” as he murmured into her ear. He was gratified to hear Lara moan softly when Rex snugged in behind her, taking her hips in his hands and reaching in to kiss her neck, her shoulders. “That’s it, Ner Kar’ta, let us do all the work.”
The two clone commanders gently held her between them, lavishing her with kisses and caresses, relishing her sighs and moans. Primer eventually reached down and swept her up in his arms, carrying her up the stairs, Rex following quietly. When he got her inside the bedroom, he placed her on her feet near the bed, immediately moving in to kiss her mouth. He felt a little greedy, reveling in her response, how she leaned into his lips as if he were the only one that ever kissed her in such a way. Primer pulled away for a second to tell Rex, “Let her sit on your lap, Rex.”
Rex moved behind to do as told but Lara added, “Take off your clothes; I want to feel the heat of your skin.” Rex gave her a small grin and shucked his clothes quickly, bending to pull the covers down on the bed before he settled. He nodded to Primer he was ready and Primer backed Lara into Rex’s waiting hands, then paused to reach down and unbuckle her belt, the buttons of her pants. Rex lifted her shirt up over her head and tossed it to the foot of the bed, as Primer carefully slid her pants and underwear down, dropping to a knee to unzip and remove her boots. Lara stepped out of them as Rex guided her down to sit on his lap, the hard bulge of his cock warm against her backside.
Rex ran his hands over the curves of her body, loving the feel of her smooth skin, save where there were scars from battles past. He cupped a hand over the small bump of his child growing within her, enormous pride filling him that he’d put that there. His rich low baritone voice rumbled in her ear and vibrated from his chest against her skin as he murmured, “You’re so beautiful, Cya’rika. So heartbreakingly beautiful, carrying my child, giving me a beautiful daughter. I don’t know what to do, you’re so kriffing pretty.”
Lara moaned back softly, a little irony in her voice, “I have an idea of what you could do…” She rolled her pelvis back, rocking against Rex’s hard length trapped between them.
Rex laughed softly and said, “Not yet, greedy thing. You owe Primer a taste first.”
Primer went to his knees before her, giving her a little wink and smile as he gently pushed her legs up and over Rex’s so they were spread before him. He breathed a soft sigh and said, “Kriff, Rex, she is soaking wet for us. Feel how wet she is.”
Rex reached down one hand, gliding it over Lara’s breast, down her belly, brushing his fingers over her swollen, sensitive clit as she gasped softly. He grunted quietly feeling the warm, welcoming heat of her. He curled his other hand around her cheek, turning her face to his as he kissed her lips, inserting two fingers gently into her and reaching for that deep spot he knew sent her into orbit. Lara moaned and rolled her hips against his hand, reaching for the sensation she so desperately wanted. But Rex had no intention of simply using his fingers. He withdrew them slowly, then sucked her juices off of them carefully, savoring her taste. “Maker, Lara, you taste so good. Primer, taste how good she is.”
Primer bent his head to suck at Lara, gently taking her swollen nub into his mouth, then thrusting his tongue into her opening. Lara gasped at the sensation, almost bucking at the overwhelming feeling of Primer’s raspy tongue fucking up into her. He moaned with pleasure at the taste of her, how wet she’d been for him, the sounds she made for them.
As Primer feasted on Lara’s honey pot, Rex continued to caress her belly, her breasts, cupping and squeezing them, delicately pinching the nipples. Rex nuzzled his face into her neck, giving her soft kisses followed by gentle bites, often coming back to her sensual mouth to kiss her passionately as Primer wrung moans from her with his efforts below. He broke off from kissing her, looking into her blue eyes, slitted like a content cat’s, and said, “I’m gonna sit you on my cock now - is that what you want?” Lara moaned and nodded to him.
Primer immediately stood and helped lift her slightly to give Rex room, and watched as he gently guided himself into her, eyes hungry as he saw Lara sink down on Rex’s hard length. As soon as she was settled, Primer leaned in and gently sucked at her clit again, gratified to hear her groan, see her rock forward a little on Rex’s cock. “You like that, don’t you Ner Kar’ta? Being so full of him while I suck your perfect clit?” He glanced up at her, finding her eyes fixed on his with a rather shattered, glassy expression. “Tell me Lara. Tell me how he feels inside of you.”
It always thrilled her, to hear them call her by her name, especially Primer, who’d just about been unable to break his habit of addressing her as ‘General’ even when they’d become physical. She’d never be able to describe how it made her feel - so loved, so special and singular in their eyes, after having spent so very long alone. “So full, Primer. I’m so full of him, and you sucking my clit is perfect. You’re both perfect.” Primer smiled in response and bent to his work again, pulling the most delicious sounds out of Lara that sent both himself and Rex into another dimension. After a few moments of his careful attention, Lara’s hand reached for his slightly shaggy hair, her fingers twining through the strands, then tightening her grip reflexively. “Primer, I’m gonna cum! Oh god, are you ready?”
Rex pulled her more tightly to his chest, running his hands over her body again. “Cum for me mesh’la. Cum on my cock while Primer drives you over the edge. Let us both feel it,” he growled in her ear.
Lara’s head rocked back and she sucked in a breath like a drowning person, raggedly gasping for air as her body convulsed, clenching around Rex’s thick cock inside of her. She cried out, almost sobbing at the feel of her climax as her husband and lover pushed her over an edge she didn’t know she had. Both men could feel the contractions, the waves of her pleasure as it rocketed through her, and Primer suddenly made eye contact with Rex, nodding to him. “Fuck her Rex, fill her up, let her take your cum.” Rex started to thrust up into her, moaning at the tight squeeze, knowing he was so primed and ready to go he wasn’t going to take long. Lara felt Rex’s heated, hard cock moving within her, and felt the moment he started to spill over inside, the warmth of his cum filling her up, the spasms of his length twitching inside of her as she took everything he gave her.
Primer watched her with something of awe on his face, always amazed at how beautiful she was when she came. The man’s love for and loyalty to Lara was actually quite simple: his entire being was focused on serving her, since the day she’d picked him to be her commander. He’d come to realize one day that his heart only cared about guiding, guarding and sacrificing for her, however that translated out in life. Primer enjoyed making love to Lara, but he’d have been just as happy being allowed to hold her, spoon fashioned, his arms wrapped protectively around her as if to watch over even her sleep.
Rex reached over to Lara’s nightstand where he pulled a small towel from a drawer there, and with Primer’s help cleaned Lara up from his spill. Then he lay back on the bed, on his side, and said, “You owe Primer a happy ending now, Cya’rika.”
“That I do,” Lara replied with a smile, as Primer wrapped his arm around her midsection, pulling her against his body. He was still dressed, the front of his BDUs damp from his obvious excitement.
Primer reached in nibble her neck carefully - if not done right it tickled Lara and she would jerk away, squealing at the sensation. “Straddle Rex, facing him. I want him to see your beautiful face when you come on my cock.” He quickly pulled his shirt off, then unbuckled his belt, pulling it free of the loops and dropping it to the floor. Next he unbuttoned the fly, shucking his pants and boxer briefs down and stepping out of them, his beautifully tanned body on display. Both Lara and Rex knew Primer bore a tattoo over his heart written in Vala, which said ‘The light of the two trees is undying, and the Guardian shall always be with you,’ over a dragon clutching a heart. It was always impressive when on display and Lara smiled, tracing her fingers over it lightly while looking into Primer’s warm brown eyes. He smiled back and returned the look with a tender kiss, then turned her body to face Rex, guiding her down to the bed.
Lara did as requested and mounted Rex facing him, as Primer climbed into the bed behind her. He nudged Rex’s legs apart so he could get close to Lara, reaching around her to cup her breasts, his hands gliding down her body so that Rex could see. Primer leaned down and kissed her neck softly, then gave her a soft bite, hearing her suck in a breath of air. Primer placed a hand on her back and pushed her gently down to straddle Rex, as he took himself in one hand and lined himself up to enter Lara from behind. His sigh of contentment at the feel of her warm, wet center enveloping him went right to her core, and he felt her muscles squeeze involuntarily.
Primer started to move, slowly and sensually at first, then with more power and speed. His action pressed Lara against Rex, rubbing her against his cock, which quickly became hard again beneath her, providing her swollen, sensitive clit the friction it so craved. Primer’s thrusts were calculated, deep enough to reach that perfect spot within her, and moved her body enough to bring Rex to a climax as well. As Lara started to orgasm, Rex brought his hands up to her face to watch the way she lost herself completely to the sensation of them fucking her. She was radiant; light shone from her very pores. As she cried out, Rex felt his own hot spurt between them, and felt Primer’s motion stutter erratically as he came with a moan, filling her with his pearly seed, riding out the blissful contractions of her climax.
Primer leaned forward with a soft groan and rested his forehead against her shoulder blade, then kissed it softly as he sat back up, pulling out as he softened. “Did you see Rex, how stunning she is?”
“Beautiful. She’s radiant when she comes,” Rex murmured into her curls.
“I think we owe her a shower, and some rest, don’t you?,” he added, addressed Rex.
Lara sighed, her body exhausted from the post sex high and not sure she could even stand to get to the shower. “I’ll carry you, Net Kar’ta. Don’t worry,” Primer said with a smile, stepping back from her and then scooping her up in his arms. Rex got up and hustled to her bathroom to get the water running, the shower quickly steaming. The two men scrubbed Lara down gently, Rex holding her with soft loving hands while Primer ran the soapy loofah over her body. Once clean and dry, Rex this time scooped Lara up to carry her to their bed, laying her down like she was made of porcelain, then lying in front of her, snuggling in close. Primer took his usual spot behind her, body tucked in tightly to her back, one arm wrapped protectively around her midsection.
Rex smiled tenderly at Lara and reached up to brush some curls back from her face. “I love you so much, Lara.”
She stared back at him with her full, expressive eyes and gave him a little grin. She felt Primer’s arm tighten around her slightly as if to remind her that he, too, loved her. Their bodies intertwined, the three lay there snuggled together, fingers lazily tracing over the planes and curves of each other’s bodies. It wasn’t long before they could all tell they were slowly driving each other to a point of arousal that would demand attention.
Rex pulled Lara’s leg over his hip as he loved to do, feeling her body surrounding him. He leaned in and kissed her lips softly, his hand running lightly along her thigh, over the curve of her butt. He tipped his hips forward slightly and she could feel his hard cock pressing against her, asking a question only she could answer. Behind her, she could feel the press of Primer against her backside, telling her he too was ready for round two.
“What do you want, Cya’rika? For us to take turns again?,” Rex murmured as he kissed down her jaw, to her neck. Lara hummed softly at the feel of them against her skin, at the heat they were generating within her with their touch.
“Tell us, Lara,” Primer murmured from behind.
“I want you both,” Lara whispered a little breathily as Primer kissed her shoulder softly.
“Both?” Primer asked a little surprised. “You mean…both? Together?” He’d never thought Lara would go this far, having Rex and himself pleasure her, let alone suggest they take her at the same time.
“Yes,” Lara whispered again, moaning softly as Rex dipped down to suckle her breasts. “Together. Same time.”
Primer and Rex traded looks over her shoulder. “Which of us do you want to take your…other…entrance?,” Primer asked delicately.
“You, Primer. Is that okay?,” she asked a little nervously.
Rex chuckled softly, hearing Primer laugh a little ironically. “Of course it’s okay, my heart. Whatever you want,” Primer murmured back. He and Rex both leaned in to kiss her, Rex taking her lips in a tender, sensuous kiss, while Primer laid gentle kisses along her shoulder, done the center of her back. Primer ran his hands down her sides, reaching under to get her leg up slightly so Rex could scoot in more closely. Rex reached down and lined himself up to enter her, taking her wet pussy with his hard length in a gentle shove. Lara moaned softly at the feel of him inside, fully seated and warm. Behind her, she felt Primer press against her, shifting slightly to give himself room to hold his own tip against her other hole. He pressed himself against the tight ring of muscle, waiting until she relaxed, then pushed in softly until she’d taken the head, feeling her tense slightly. Primer stopped and waited while Rex worked to distract her with kisses and touch, and when Primer felt her ease a bit more, he entered her fully, sliding the rest of his length inside and feeling the impossibly tight fit of her body around him, Rex’s cock against his own, separated only by a thin wall of muscular tissue.
They all rested for a moment, completely joined, testing the feel before moving. Primer was the first to move, gently thrusting, giving an involuntary groan at the squeeze. Rex gasped at the feel of Primer’s cock sliding by his own inside of her, and started to move as well, their movements alternating in a careful dance to make sure they didn’t hurt Lara in any way.
“How does that feel?,” Primer murmured in Lara’s ear. She whimpered softly, gasping at the sensation of them both inside of her. Primer tucked his face into the crook of her shoulder, waiting for her reply.
“Good!,” Lara managed to blurt out. “It’s so full, y’all fill me up so well. It’s like we are one creature, all joined like this.” She tried to breathe normally, but the feel of them both moving, pulling back and then thrusting forward so gently, was obliterating all thought in her mind.
Rex kissed her again, moaning into her mouth as the sensations started to drive him nearer the edge. Primer reached down and bit her shoulder, increasing the strength of the bite as he got more and more aroused. He broke off, groaning out, “I’m not going to last much longer. You’re so tight, so perfect, Lara. You feel so good, Ner Kar’ta.” He took a ragged breath and then whispered, “I’m going to fill you up with my cum, want you to feel it.” He felt Lara nod, then shiver softly at the overwhelming feeling of taking them both at the same time.
“Are you ready for us to come, Lara?,” Rex asked huskily. “I’m ready. I think Primer is ready. You’re gonna take us at the same time, we are both going to give you everything we’ve got.” He looked into her eyes, seeing her working to focus on him, though she was already so blissed out she wasn’t on the same mental plane as they were. “You’re gonna come too, Cya’rika. I know you can. Come with us, let us feel each other at the same time.” Lara’s head went back slightly, her mouth open in a silent moan as she took a drag of breath.
“I’m ready, Rex, I’m…now! Come now!,” she begged in a broken voice. She was drowning in the feel of her orgasm, completely losing herself to the feel of the powerful contractions. But when she felt the two men start to come themselves, their thick cocks twitching within her, the warmth of their spill, Lara felt like she was shattering apart, her mind fracturing at the overpowering sensation, the knowledge of how much she loved them both, how much they loved her back, the way they’d gloried in pleasuring her. Both men gasped and moaned in their own expression of their powerful orgasms, pushed beyond their normal range of arousal by the feel of each other within the woman they loved, sliding against each other as they reached for their climax. Neither had expected it to be such, and they were taken by surprise at how erotic and amazing it had felt.
The three all pulled each other into a tight hug, holding each other like they’d never leg go. Neither man pulled free of her until they’d softened past the point of control, and then they simply held Lara between them, all exhausted by their love making. Within moments, they were all asleep, Primer’s face buried in Lara’s neck, Rex’s forehead against Lara’s, arms and legs intertwined in a puzzle that would have been difficult to pull apart. Sighing softly as she slipped away into dreams, Lara whispered, “I love you both so much, god help me.”
