FIC REC WEEK 42 – ANIMAL FIC

AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT: Neverever

If I could, I would rec everything Neverever has ever written, because I love their fics so much. But alas, I'll restrain myself to the animal-related ones. Neverever always comes through with amazing concepts, and they truly have a gift for dialogue and characterization. Their Tony especially is one of my favorites.

Summary: It's routine mission for the Avengers Team until Tony finds a mystery box. Suddenly, instead of Iron Man, there is Iron Mouse. Who is very desperate to get back home for a very important deadline.

Reasons why I love it: All of the animal puns are sending me. And the thought of Steve going out to buy mouse-appropriate coffee mugs and furniture for their temporary guest is just about the cutest thing ever. I love this one, and I really hope you give it a shot for yourself!

Summary: Tony is turning into a dragon, with interesting consequences for Steve.

Reasons why I love it: Aww, this one is so cute! I've always thought that Tony being a dragon makes hella sense with his character, and this fic nails all the similarities to a T. And Steve is such a sweetheart, it just makes me so happy. Definitely check this one out if you haven't, it's wonderful!

Reasons why I love it: On the one hand, I'm glad that Tony has his unicorn looking out for him – which is a sentence I never thought I would say – but on the other hand they are a cock-blocking tease, and I'm glad they and Steve come to an understanding. This fic is super fun, and I highly suggest you check it out for yourself!

Expedition to the Savage Land

Pairing: Steve/Tony Rating: T Words: 28,587 Tags: Enemies to Friends to Lovers, Savage Lang, Spies & Secret Agents

Summary: Lord Tony Stark does not get along at all with Captain Rogers and wants little to do with him. Captain Rogers is lost and alone in world foreign to him. Fury appoints Captain Rogers to lead an expedition to the Savage Land to conduct scientific research on behalf of the New Explorers' Club and surprisingly Captain Rogers wants Stark to be his lead scientist. Tony would be fine with the expedition if he didn't have suspicions that the expedition is about more than research. And if Rogers hadn't brought his pet dinosaur along.

Reasons why I love it: The whole premise of this fic hooked me right from the start, and it never got any less intriguing. I love all of the discussions regarding the morals of having dinosaurs as pets, and Redwing is absolutely adorable. Also, there is some fantastic art by DragonK and zappedbysnow embedded, which you don't want to miss! This fic is amazing, and you should definitely give it a read!

The Pink Pony at the Bar

Pairing: Gen Rating: G Words: 1,932 Tags: Chance Meetings, Friendship, MLP Crossover

Summary: Steve Rogers goes into a bar and meets... Pinkie Pie! Steve is pushed through a portal and Pinkie Pie helps him get back home.

Reasons why I love it: The crossover I never knew I needed. Their conversation is super fun, and the mental image of Steve and Pinkie Pie sitting at a bar together just won't leave my brain, it's so good. I love this one, and I bet you will to!

We know that there is a Deadmule, and Wolfverine.

I don't know what animal Sam's Captain zootopia is, but I have some guess considering the world of zootopia.

I can't really identify zootopia red hulk's paw.

I am sure the Marvel zootopia universe is very different from the Larvel universe. So I'm guessing no Hulk bunny or Captain americat.

I know a lot of people say that Steve Rogers is a Golden Retriever (and to a certain extent, I can understand why that is; after all, it's all a matter of how you want to characterize, or what your interpretation is, of the character). But I've always thought that if Steve had to be an animal, he would be a cat.

As a curious fact, in Earth-8311/Earth-14094/Other unnumbered earths (universes of anthropomorphic animals, most of which are counterparts to Earth-616 characters), Steve Rogers' counterpart is a cat: Steven "Steve" Mouser aka Captain Americat.

You all are WRONG. Steve is not a DOG BOY....HE IS A CAT BOY. HERE'S WHY.

1) Has a favorite person whom he spends almost all of his time interacting with

2. He loves back pats (Natasha gives him back pats, Bucky gives him back pats, Steve gives ppl back pats)

3. Spends a lot of his time alone, in the quiet, in sun spots, curled up somewhere

3.5. On this note! Steve spends a lot of his time alone and in social situations where there are multiple people, he sticks to the fringes and is still pretty quiet, though he does interact alot with his FAVORITE. PEOPLE! Cat!! Thats what cats do!!

Steve and Bucky heard that I had a little bit of free time last Saturday evening and decided to completely nix that and raid my vitamin d supplements - which I normally keep in the bathroom in a cabinet with the bathroom door shut. So instead it was a call to pet poison control and an 8 PM-1 AM stay at the emergency vet while the boys got subcutaneous fluids and charcoal and bloodwork to check kidney values before a 12 hour Sunday workday. Today I walked with the Madre before a shorter day of work and now that I’m off we’re doing the recheck on kidney values and hopefully getting the all clear.
