Even by humour comic standards, this one is just wild. Almost Marvel "not brand echh" style quality and frenetic humour. So many animal puns, cartoon references, and hidden jokes on signs and stuff. And I never expected Starro to be so sarcastic and dry with his humour (I barely ever even remember starro can talk), but here we are. And i think it's a fun comic, so far. Comic companies should stop trying to push the "big life threatening galaxy wide" event comics on their characters. It is distressing and will lead to long term character derailment.
Instead, we should have more events like "It's the 80s again", "All the teen heroes are suddenly grunge emo kids", or "The Zoo Crew is back". It's enriching.

Remembering Captain Carrot and His Amazing Zoo Crew!
Today I’m going to write about my all-time favorite superhero group. No, not the Justice League of America, or The Avengers, or The X-Men, Fantastic Four, Youngblood, or any other group like that, I’m talking about: CAPTAIN CARROT AND HIS AMAZING ZOO CREW! Image by Keith Howell   Created by Roy Thomas and Scott Shaw(!), this was originally a six-member team of “funny animals” with superpowers.…

I found something fascinating in this letters column. A letter from Rino Romano of Toronto. I can only assume that this is the same Rino Romano who played Batman on the 2004 tv show, and I find really interesting. (Captain Carrot and his Amazing Zoo Crew #9):

Earth-3 Captain Carrot & His Amazing Zoo Crew
I made an Earth-3 evil variant of Captain Carrot and his Amazing Zoo Crew. I call them “Captor Carrot and his Awful Zoo Criminals.” The title says Antagonizing, but I changed it.
I imagine that they would be a group of cartoonish villains from Earth-3C. Ultraman thought he created them (as he likes to doodle on napkins while sitting in the Panopticon or his Dominion of Subjection). But one day he would be transported to their world (almost like something out of a cartoon on his world: Toonish Loons (Earth-3 Looney Tunes)), and meet the “top dogs” of their world.
Top Row L-R: Reichsadler, American Bitch, Captor Carrot, Dark Alley, Choking Hazard
Bottom Row L-R: Quick Pace, Brother Boar, Pest Problem
