so he takes her hand , bearing it with only the utmost delicacy . he prays that his palm's deathly chill wouldn't drive her to a shudder and retracting clutch away . his heart and its pulse was right here and still lingering , after all , enough so that the sound of it nearly seemed louder than his own murmurs , and he could have professed it the surest evidence to his sentiments .

' if she bore a desire to be seen , then perhaps his was an equal wish to be heard . look , i'm looking . i'm looking . does my voice reach you ? his touch shifts a little , becoming a gentle tug and grasp . towards a better direction , one where they might rest and pass the time away . Give us a name for one of Eris's Brothers!

I absolutely love making up names for the unnamed Vanserra-brothers. We already have first names in the family ranging from French and German to Greek in origin, so it feels like you can call them literally anything. For my story I’ve been looking for names in mythology in particular, and one of the names I’ve used for a Vanserra-brother is “Paras”, a Hindu name of Indian origin.

Give us a name for one of Eris's hounds!

Mutt! In “A Song of Bonds and Legacies” Mutt is the name of Eris’s half-breed, who he (not so secretly) has a soft-spot for. The twelve full-blooded hounds are kept in a kennel, whereas Mutt lives in Eris’s chambers. He’s very rare (which is probably why Beron allows him at all), as cross-breeding Smokehounds rarely ever result in viable pregnancies. His other hounds are named alphabetically from A to L and they all have either aristocratic titles, autumn- or weapon-related names.

How do you see Eris evolving as a character in future books?

Ah… I hope we will see him as High Lord of Autumn and that there will be a reconciliation between him and Lucien, but other than that I’d love for him to stay pretty much the same, only sans the “oh-so-horrible-and-cowardly-villain” stamp that he’s been given by the Night Court. I honestly don’t think he’s done enough bad to deserve it, and I think calling someone who has had to endure torture and cruelty at his own father’s hands while (probably) trying to help his family and his court in secret a coward, is uncalled for. It would be great if he could lower his mask a bit, but for the love of the Mother, don’t make him another Rhys in terms of justifying every mean thing he’s ever said or done. Let him be sassy and condescending, but twist the narrative a little, so we can see things from his perspective.

How do you think Eris view his siblings, and what kind of relationships does he have with them?

I think it varies how he views them and what kind of relationship they have. I believe some of his brothers may follow more closely in Beron’s footsteps than he does, and that he doesn’t necessarily like them very much, whereas others, I think he’s trying to protect and shape more. There’s definitely an element of competition between all of them though (apart from between Eris and Lucien, who I believe Eris knows is not Beron’s), and considering that the Autumn Court is cutthroat, I don’t think Eris trusts any of his unnamed brothers. They see the same persona he’s been putting forth for centuries, and he shows them no weaknesses. I can’t see him having a genuine and honest relationship with any of them.

What kind of legacy does Eris want to leave behind?

I honestly don’t think he cares about his own legacy. He’s willing to be labelled as anything as long as his Court and the people he (secretly) cares about are all right. I think he wants a more just and peaceful world in general, where power is more evenly distributed, but I don’t believe he needs (or wants) credit for making it happen.

What is the inspiration behind your fic A Song of Bonds and Legacies?

I had the overall idea for this fic when I read HOFAS, but for the storyline, I’ve found a lot of inspiration in mythology and fairytales (I’m a huge mythology nerd). I also build heavily on canon lore and take much inspiration from that, and I love drawing upon and incorporating socio-political, ontological and ethical discussions as well. (But I guess the primary incentive was to make Azris happen🤣❤️)

UNCHAINED SANGUINEOUS HEARTMAKER {Guilty Gear}

Riding the high of a resounding Epiphany.

...Did I pull another "Desdinova" purely out of sheer A.B.A hopium? (I kept the lines sketchy, though, because I could not be arsed to try and mimic Strive's linework style again after the pain from last time ahjsdgajhsdgadk)

Yes. Yes I did.

So, those Season 3 character survey results, huh? The A.B.A hopium is real. I really do wonder what they'd do with her if she was brought to Strive, so I decided to try my hand at a "Strive-ified" A.B.A design.

So, design background info:

So, she's a... weirdo homunculus, right? An artificial human, created by a mad scientist she never met, so she was alone and never really learned how to... "people". That key in her head also keeps on reminding me of the bolts lodged in the sides of pop-culture-ified Adam's (Frankenstein's monster) head. She's also desperately trying to find a human(oid) body for the demon/magical foci Paracelsus/Flament Nagel, who she is deeply in love with. Artificially-created human, medical themes, artificial human form, deeply in love...

So what if she decided that, with her attempts at finding a body for him repeatedly failing (XX endings don't count, XX's canonicity is completely FUCKED lmao), why doesn't she just... create one herself instead?

In other words, the creation becomes the creator. Lil' bit of "Bride of Frankenstein" thrown in, if the guy making the bride (or in this case, groom) was the monster itself.

So, making her into a key-axe-wielding mad scientist homunculus.

I tried to make her pose reminiscent of a dance move, specifically a "dip".

GG ABA Strive fandesign sheet 01

The first drawing I got done of my design for A.B.A (featuring a base-shapes Paracelsus for scale). Featuring her color palette (F1 is base flesh, F2 is scarring, H is hair, B is bandages, C1 is primary coat color, C2 is secondary coat color, C3 is tertiary coat color, E is "edges", M1 is one of the metal colors, A is "accents", M2 is the second metal color, and the square below that is the eye colors), weird ragged patchwork "lab-coat", boot details, "branding", and some of the text on her design.

- The phrase printed along the front edge of her coat (and the heels of her boots) is "LOCK&SEE" (the "&" stylized to look like/replaced with a keyhole symbol), a spin on the phrase "Lock and Key", fitting with her obsession with keys and tendency towards twisting sayings/phrases into mondegreens. Also implies hiding something.

- The brand on the back of her coat is meant to look like the coffin shape on the back of Paracelsus's head during Moroha Mode, with the nose hole and right eye hole visible. Text above it reads "PARACELSUS" (with the P and R stylized to have curved horns in the back like MM Para), and the text underneath reads "FLAMENT NAGEL" (with similar "horn" stylization on the F).

- The scarring is damage from her not wearing proper protective gear during her experiments (because she doesn't seem like one to wear proper PPE lmao), much of it taking up most of the left side of her upper torso/arm (meant to mirror Strive Faust's stitching).

- She's both grimy and very... "DIY", so her stitching is very hodgepodge.

- The text along the stitching on the back of her coat reads "The More The Moodier.", a play on one of her mondegreen win-quotes in XX (against I-No: "People say "the more the gloomier", but she's just too much to take...") but with the same alliteration as "the more the merrier" which it was derived from.

- The brand on the right side of her shorts is the same as on her back, but without the "FLAMENT NAGEL" and with "PARACELSUS" underneath instead of above.

- The key markings (gloves, boots) all have the same key-blade shape as Paracelsus.

- I had some trouble figuring out some of her colors, as they differed between the sprites (blue metal, glove. and trim) and official artwork (dark brown metal + glove, blue trim), so I decided to have dark brown for the keys and dark blue for the studded trim and left glove.

- The laces of her boots and the buttons on her coat are meant to resemble Para's mouth stitches

- Made her head-key/neck keys have a little skull decoration similar to some of her XX art (it's very inconsistent).

The second "Strive-ified" A.B.A design sheet I made.

- Both of the large gloves look the same, with the red bands and Paracelsus-blade key markings.

- The dark blue left-hand glove is (mostly) the same. I like to think that it's her "woobie", what with her tendency to get attached to inanimate objects.

- The dark blue cropped tank-top is meant to only be visible in Moroha. The text reads "MOCK&KEY" (the "&" stylized to look like/replaced with a stylized keyhole symbol, the top part of the keyhole meant to look like a coffin), another spin on "Lock and Key" like the previously-mentioned "LOCK&SEE" compounded with her believing herself to be superior to humans. Moroha is what was locked-up.

- Noting specific design changes during Moroha. Coat opens + key "eyes" gain red glow.

- Design for her head + neck keys.

- Design for her bloodpacks. Text reads "FRASCO". Symbol underneath meant to look like a "flask" shape made out of an upside-down keyhole.

The fourth sheet I made, featuring Paracelsus and his colors.

I honestly didn't change much lmao. His design is already weird by GG standards, mostly just tweaked some things.

- Made his eyes asymmetrical. Right has small iris and no pupil, left has beady pupil. Wanted to make him look "cartoony (western) neurotic/nervous" while hinting at his "main" glowy eye in Moroha being his right eye.

- I blurred/smudged the blood along the bottom edge to imply that A.B.A dragging him around wore away some of it.

- I added some spikes to his collar for a "punk" look, which glow red in Moroha.

- I kept his mouth stitches in Moroha. The mouth-corner stitches remain, while the middle stitches are tied around his left horn.

The final sheet I made, featuring mechanic ideas, "meta" stuff, and a design for repurposing an older move into a reversal super.

- Non-replenishable resources don't really fly in Strive, so I decided to make them replenishable through an alternate version of Bonding (a.k.a Keygrab). One Keygrab variant for Moroha, one Keygrab variant for a bloodpack. Starts off with no bloodpacks. Max three bloodpacks at a time. Functionality basically the same as XX.

- Turned Altercation (i.e. Enter Goku Moroha) into a Moroha-exclusive reversal super. Goku Moroha is not something that flies by modern fighting game characters, let alone Strive, so GM would definitely get axed. Still keeping Altercation as an absolute weirdo of a move, taking different resources depending on how much she has of each.

- Not sure what to actually do with Moroha's function/moveset, but having an "Install" state is the big thing that defines A.B.A's playstyle, so she'd probably keep at least base Moroha.

- Evidence: Concealment becomes a full reversal that only hits one hit as opposed to three, because most people cancel it after the first hit anyway lmao

I found this series through the ParaMasquerade comic dub and I LOVE IT. Great series, but what do you think of the comic dub? Is it faithful to the series in your eyes?

I follow Para's dubbing adventure of my comics closely! While I don't have any influence on pretty much anything outside of the comic itself, I can safely say that the dub is absolutely excellent. There were so many points where I was blown away by the line delivery. Especially of the latest part, which was a lot more emotional than usual. I really didn't think it could make me feel things, considering I was the one who wrote the lines, but somehow it did. Para does an excellent job just adding another layer of emotions to this comic series and I'm all here for it. Also I really don't want to forget mentioning the editing and sound design, because they just tie everything together in a neat little bow. So yeah 10/10 dub. Go give it a watch!

Heck, Para did a full video of the Group Project mini series (this was before the start of Twin Runes, so I don't count it as part of the canon, but it's still worth the watch!)

Very short and not beta'd fic!!! Before things get inevitably worse. Pls give me some constructive critique this is my first ever posted fic. This is dedicated to @qfliporiana cause they filled me with canon denying love of the two of them.

It wasn’t until around 9:30 that morning that Charlie had realized he was wearing Mariana’s glasses. He had been going about his tasks of the morning, making coffee, checking around the house for any traps that had been set (or mines he had misplaced), collecting all of Flippa’s toys that were strewn around the living room into the toybox along the wall, and beginning breakfast. He had to remind himself to triple the pancake recipe. His cooking had never been very… tasty, but he would try for them. When passing by the mirror near the door, only then did he notice the round edges of the frames, and how just a bit blurry everything was. He brought and hand up and slipped them off his face, unable to suppress something of a fond smile. Definitely Mariana’s. Maybe the reason he hadn’t noticed was that he never had to think of it before. A few nights ago, he and husband’s beds were separated. It was for the best, really, them not sleeping together. (Aside from the nights they did, but that wasn’t the point.) But now it was permanent. It was a hard night, one Charlie didn’t like to remember, but ever since then, the beds stayed pushed together. And the two pairs of glasses rested on the same nightstand. Despite him saying otherwise at every opportunity, Charlie didn’t hate it. Not one bit.

 He ran his fingers over the rims. They had cracks and ridges, but were still charming in a way. The brunet sighed to himself. God, all of this was so… Domestic. Was that the right word? Was that how you would describe raising a child with another man, being a husband? Was that how you describe fixing up an exploded house with said man? A comfortable living room. A small but well used kitchen. An indoor farm with all of Flippa’s favorite plants and food. A ladder and stairway lined with family photos, or anything they found amusing. A child’s room with drawings across the walls. A bedroom that once was cold as ice, now warmed by two people sharing a bed. Yes, that was what it was.

The sound of a door creaking open drew Charlie’s attention, a bed wrangled Mariana leaning on the doorway. He wore a loose gold sweatshirt, with boxy glasses slid all the way down his nose bridge. Short dark hair hung down in his face, making Charlie chuckle at the adorableness stupidity of it.

“Charlie, creo que tienes mi-” Mariana was cut off by a yawn, as he rubbed his eyes and fixed the glasses on his face. Charlie could guess enough of what he meant and held up the pair in his hands.

“We switched,” the American chuckled, leaning back on the kitchen counter top as they swapped the spectacles back to their proper owners, “I took yours.” Charlie slid the square glasses onto his face, and watched as the world came back into clear focus. Grabbing the translator he spotted on the counter, he changed the settings so that whatever was spoken would be read out in the other language. Sure, the both of them had picked up enough of the other language to get what they were saying, especially Mariana, but it was better safe than sorry. 

Mariana waltzed over to the other side of the countertop and leaned forward to face the slime, translator between them, and quickly took a hold of his hand. Charlie cocked an eyebrow, a green blush rising to his cheeks. He nervously laughed and averted his gaze, “Never knew you one for contact outside of shitty sex,” he quipped awkwardly. The Mexican scoffed and shook his head, sending a confusing pang of guilt through Charlie, as if disappointing Mariana hurt. Huh, weird.

Their eyes suddenly locked, intense, and firm. Mariana began to speak, “No sé muy bien cómo decir esto. Todo esto empezó porque nos dijeron que cuidáramos a un niño para el que no estábamos preparados. Y lamento lo que pasó, y lamento no haber estado ahí. Tengo mucho miedo de que algo así vuelva a pasar, pero lo intento. Intento ser un buen padre y un buen marido. Sé que tú también lo estás intentando. Y creo que está yendo a alguna parte. Espero que así sea. Así que, gracias por estar ahí. Y gracias por intentarlo de nuevo, aunque sólo sea por Flippa. Que sepas que no es mi única razón.”

Charlie blinked, the cogs turning in his brain halting. Similarly, the translator whirled uselessly, the speed of Mariana’s talking making it unable to translate. He dumbly tipped his head to the side, “What?”

Mariana shook his head, an annoyed yet warm spreading across his face. He paused for a moment, before seemingly shortening his thoughts into 3 words, “Te amo, perra.”

Charlie’s blush deepened as the translator read out “I love you, bitch.” He couldn’t help from smiling himself, and was about to explain how he was absolutely not a bitch-

“Uh, is something burning?” Mariana muttered, breaking eye contact. Charlie’s head shot up and he scrambled over to the stove, smoke beginning to bellow up from scorched pancakes. With his correct glasses on, it became clear to him that what looked like the 360° notch on the stove top was the 660° notch. He lowered his head in embarrassment as Mariana’s charming loud laugh filled the air, sticking the torched pan into the cold water filled sink. “Let’s just heat up some Eggo waffles…”
